1. The front cover of the magazine follows conventions of real magazines by including the title across the top, a banner, and a large main image. It also includes additional details like the issue number and price. 2. The contents page challenges conventions by having an unconventional layout rather than columns at the bottom. 3. The double page spread fully follows conventions with a large left image, right side interview in columns, bold pull quote, and use of fonts and colors consistent with the magazine topic.

2. How I followed, developed and Challenged the forms and
conventions of real life media products
For my front cover of the magazine, I mostly followed
the conventions of how a magazine looked. I used the
same things on my magazine as how it should be. For a
start the title ‘Back To BAsics’ is positioned across the
whole page, the unique banner ‘stripping you down to
the basics’ which draws the readers attention like other
magazine. I have also followed the codes and
conventions by having a main body image which fills the
majority of the page.
The issue number, date and price tag.
I followed how a real life product is with the eye catching
sub stories included in the magazine makes the
audience want to read about their favourite star and
what they have been up to.
I have challenged the conventions of real life media
products by not making the colours of the magazine
stand out and make the cover too bright for the
audience etc.

3. On my contents page it doesn’t really
follow the codes and conventions of a
regular magazine. This is because I
wanted to challenge music magazines
on the market place to see if people
would still purchase an out of place
magazine. My magazine does follow the
conventions slightly by having the
columns at the bottom of the media
product but apart from that it doesn’t .

4. Double page Spread
This is my double page spread, for this part of production work I went with all the codes and
conventions to how a real life product would look, across the double page I have put a large
picture on the ,left side and the interview on the right hand side. It follows the conventions by
having three columns on the right side of the DPS. I got my idea of having the bold pull
quote from a kerrang magazine. It also follows the codes and conventions by having the
large W at the start of the interview , I also got this from a magazine which was q. The font
and font colour used also goes with my magazine, with it being a dance magazine it needs
to have bright vibrant colours.
