The document discusses the use of new media technologies throughout the different stages of producing a trailer. In development, various websites and applications were used for researching and analyzing information that would have otherwise required a library. Blogging platforms like Google Blogger allowed documenting coursework from any internet-enabled device. Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office were used for creating assets like posters, documents, and presentations. A Sony DSLR camera was used for filming due to its portability. FINAL CUT was used for post-production editing, where non-diagetic music was downloaded from YouTube and titles were created in PowerPoint.

New Media Technologies in
Development, Pre-Production,
Filming, Post-Production.
2. New Media technologies have been a huge part of
the process of making our trailer. In the first
section of our production - Development - we
used various websites and applications to aid us
through a lot of researching and analyzing which
otherwise would have had to have been in a
library.Websites such as…
3. To document our coursework, we
used a Google service called
‘Blogger’ - this allowed us to
update work from any internet-
enabled computer both at school
and at home. This came in handy
when we needed information
from sites such as ‘Twitter’ or
‘YouTube’.
To do tasks such as the
practice trailer and poster - I
used programs such as Adobe
Photoshop and In Design. I
also used Microsoft Office to
create documents for my
Blogger.

Online ways of
presenting information
for things like the
treatment and the pitch I
used software such as
Prezi.com, Slid.es and
Slide Rocket.

When I filmed my trailer, I used a Sony
DLSR Camera - which is portable and
lightweight allowing us to move it
around the different locations allowing
us to use a variety of different shots.
I used a microphone when
filming as sometimes it was
needed if we were doing a
wide shot or long shot. It
was also used for a
voiceover - which ultimately
left out of the trailer.
5. In the Post Production of
my film, I used FINAL CUT
for Mac OS X. In Final Cut
Express, I cut my film and
added conventions like
titles and non-diagetic
sound.
The non-
diagetic music
was found on
You Tube and
downloaded
using a Web 2.0
page.
The titles were made
on Microsoft
PowerPoint and used
a Mac to print screen
them and insert them
into my film.
