1. How did you use media
technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation
stages?

2. Research & Planning
We used many tools to complete our research
and planning, specifically the ones below where
used to help us with our planning, and we also
used these media technologies to carry out our
research.

3. I personally used google the most as a media technology to
conduct and carry out my planning and research. I used Google to
research codes and conventions of stereotypical rom com films,
and to also search other films that would be similar to mine to
compare.
I used YouTube to watch other short rom com films to analyse in
order to emphasise my similarities between these films and the
one were planning, comparing codes and conventions and
specifically focusing on the use of setting, characters and dialogue
to inspire our film.
We used SurveyMonkey to create our questionnaires in order to
understand who our target audience is.
We used blogger to upload all of our research and planning
content onto so it is easy to view.

4. Construction
Our construction process mainly focused on
media technology tools that helped construct
our film. Specifically the camera and editing
process which all played a part in constructing
our film.

5. We used Apple iMac’s to do all of our online tasks on, we used
the iMac to carry out most of our research and planning and
construction. The iMac was used to also operate the online
software to edit our film.
We used a HD Digital camera to record our film in order to
achieve professional level filming, similar to the other rom
com films we analysed. Along with the camera, the tripod
tool was in use to again achieve a steady shot and perfect
filming.
After filming and uploading our footage onto the iMac with a
memory card to access our unedited film. We then used our
online software to upload the footage and placed it on the
timeline to pick what footage we wanted to keep, then placed
it chronologically. We also used Final Cut Pro to add the music
and transitions in between scenes.

6. We used YouTube to upload our short film, as it’s
one of the most popular video sharing website in
the world. Another reason we decided to upload
our video on YouTube is because YouTube is
easily accessible worldwide and it is easy to
share. You can share and embed YouTube videos
onto many social networking sites and other
media platforms like ‘Facebook’ and ‘Twitter’
making it shareable leading to more views.

7. Evaluation
For my evaluation I used mostly slideshare and
blogger to upload my evaluation onto my
website.

8. We used blogger to upload all of our evaluation
content onto so it is easy to view.
I also used slide share alongside powerpoint to upload
my evaluation content and embed it onto my blog. I
created my powerpoint and then uploaded it onto
slideshare to then embed it onto my website. This was
easy to do as all you had to do was upload the file saved
on the iMac onto the slideshare website.
I also used a bar chart maker to illustrate my target audience findings into a more
visual representation.
