2. Intro
Since the start of this task of work we had began with
the use of technology. Every little and big step involved
the use of different types of technology consisting
from using equipment like cameras, PCs and Apple
Macs. Without the use of many of the equipment we
have used the final product could not have been
created.
4. For the planning and research part of this task I have
used many different software's on both the normal
standard PC’s and the Apple Macs.

5. Research
When doing research for our movie trailer I used many online services
like the internet and sites like YouTube. This research was done both on
normal PCs at home but also on the Macs in school. Google was the
main search engine I used when carrying out my research, I used
Google to find many horror Posters and magazines which we could use.
This will then help us undertake the creation of our poster/magazine.
Another way of carrying out research was watching YouTube videos on
the mobile phone when there seemed to be a problem with Mac.
Finding a couple of trailers and then deciding which will best apply to
us. Once a trailer was chosen I started breaking it down and analysing
the trailers.
On TV there is also plenty of trailers being played in between
programmes this also helped out us when they would come on I was
able to break it down without a PC around me.
6. Planning
One software that has been used by me and my group is
blogger on this website we planned out our work and what
is needed then officially started adding analysed work.
Blogger is a very useful site as we can add videos, pictures
text and also have the option to edit the text.
With this available it allowed us to go around different
places taking images of possible locations. We also could
add our custom questionnaires and tasks being carried out.
Blogger was more of a day to day diary, as we constantly
added more and more ideas analysed pieces of work and
also plenty of images.
7. Microsoft
This software we nearly always used to keep the layout and
designs of future posts neat and tidy.
Also on this program I was able to create
presentations, document and flyers and leaflets.
However I mainly used it to access edit and create blog
posts which can then be uploaded onto blogger.
Using PowerPoint enabled me to change around and
change the style of documents being uploaded, as it was
not always straight up documents broken into paragraphs.
8. Mobile phone, laptop, PCs and
Apple Macs
Mobile phone – I mainly used my mobile phone to watch
YouTube videos such as trailers and ways of creating
transitions.
Laptop – Using the laptop was only used when the PC at
home never had the software needed.
PC’s – The PC is the main hardware that was used to do the
research from online services and websites. Also creating
many Microsoft word documents as research for the blog.
Macs – Most important product needed for this product.
During the research and planning bit of this project, I used
many different programmes trying them out, creating draft
versions testing the software's trying to find the best one.
9. Construction
In the construction stage of this project there was a variety of
software's that had been used which were all mainly stored on
the Apple Macs.
The good thing about using Macs is that there are several
software's which are enabled to import videos and pictures from
cameras and phones.
Last years project was also a trailer however the camera quality
wasn't very good so we decided to use of our own Cameras,
eventually using two of our own.
Both cameras being very good in quality, DSLR compact and
Compact SLR are the cameras we used to create our two minute
film trailer. We also used the schools tripod which allows
stability of the camera when filming. After the filming was
completed we put it onto the Macs on the software I movie.
10. I movie
Here we chose the footage we wanted to include in the
trailer. On this software we manage to have a finished
trailer.
Editing many clips adding in transitions as well as
sound effects, also adding on voice over's of two of the
main characters.
We also used adobe Photoshop also on the Macs which
was used to create both the magazine front cover and
also the main poster.
11. After effects
For two years now this in my favourite software when
using the apple Macs. This is because I have always
created some sort of transition for our group however
this year being made from scratch.
This project I created a fire transition which may not
be used as much as our as transition however this
helped adapt my knowledge of the after effects
software.
12. Other software's used
Final cut pro – Used to add and edit both the poster
and magazine front cover.
Sound rip – This software allowed us to edit and get
music, sounds both diegetic and non-diegetic.
Bridge – This software enabled us to transfer files from
devices to ITunes which stores the files.

17. Evaluation
I movie is a specialised software only accessible to Apple
Macs. Mainly used as a video editing software application
sold by Apple. For the Mac and iOS (iPhone, ipad, ipad
mini and iPod touch). originally released in 1999 as a Mac
OS 8 application for the Apple Macs.
Also being able to import video and photo files from a hard
drive. Then the user can edit the photos and video clips and
add titles, music, and effects, including basic colour
correction and video enhancement tools and transitions
such as fades and slides.
We used this throughout the project to see how everything
fits together. Eventually this software was used to come up
with the final trailer.
18. Evaluation
Blogger
Another important programme which was used
throughout this process. Used to add images, videos
our edits of our product, text and all the research and
planning stuff.
These blogs had to be updated constantly with what
the group is doing how they are doing it and why.
Blogger allowed everything to stay in its individual
section which makes it neater and easier to use.

20. Audience feedback
To get feedback for our trailer we decided to get a few
of our target audience sit in front of the camera watch
the trailer and then talk about what they think.
Another way which we have done this is on social
media site facebook where we also got a little feedback
from friends and family however the results on
Facebook were very basic, such as “sick” “nice trailer
guys”.
21. YouTube
We have also put our trailer on YouTube for people to
view.
When carrying out research we also watched many
As/A2 products to see what is expected of us.
We will also be helping out others by making it
available on YouTube.
22. Evaluation
For many of our evaluations we have taken different
techniques to create the responses.
Question 1 – this will be a PowerPoint which is talked over
by us using either iMovie or windows movie maker.
Question 2 – question 2 we have decided to do individually
by writing up on our blogs, using word to help keep the
layout nice and simple.
Question 3 – created a video of our response to the
feedback from our audience, also iMovie.
Question 4 – This is this PowerPoint which breaks down
research and planning actual construction but also the
ways we went about evaluation.
