The world is being changed fundamentally by AI and we are constantly faced with newspaper headlines about its harmful effects. However, there is also the potential to both ameliorate theses harms and use the new abilities of AI to transform society for the good. Can you make the difference?
2. MY TARGET AUDIENCE
I decided to do an indie folk music video because it is some of my favorite music to listen to and also because
the song i had in mind "wrong direction" i had some good ideas for.
The target audience of indie folk music varies; for males it is in the age range of 17-23 whereas for females its
around 13-25, the genre being possibly more popular with women because it is more mellow and calm. Also
because the majority of the songs are about love, heartbreak or nature.
With a similar target audience age range to our class I was able to hold our focus group within the class,
keeping contact over social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter in order to gert feedback comments on
my ancillary tasks and my main task.
3. MY AUDIENCE FEEDBACK OF MY MUSIC VIDEO FIRST DRAFT
after showing my first draft to my fiocus group the feedback i got was:
-more variation of shots
-try to create more of a narrative
-maybe shots of a girl he once new; memories
-focus on getting the lip sync perfect
- more scenic shots to cut to
and with this new information was able to go out and take more shots in order to create a more entertaining
video. focussing mainly on the idea of creating the narrative that he a has lost a relationship and has realise
hes gone in "the wrong direction".
However, after researching more into the indie folk genre and looking into more music videos I realised that
they do not usually focus on a narrative throughout and are more focussed on nature so this is what I added
to my piece instead.
4. MY AUDIENCE FEEDBACK OF MY ANCILLARY TASKS (DIGIPAK)
I decided to start my first draft of my digipak on Photoshop in order to get a feel of what i
wanted to do. I started off gaining inspiration from simple plans digipak seen in my "digipak
viewed list"--
And ending up trying to add my own unique style to it with the burnt look as well as
incorporating the stamps and packaging detail i wanted in order to stick with my theme of
travel I wanted to go with.
Unfortunately i took a poll with 15 different 'indie folk' music lovers and the majority said that
the design of the digipak was too edgy looking for an 'indie folk' band and they wanted it to be
more simple looking and neat in order to fit into my genre.
5. I showed them three different 'indie folk' digipaks (Passengers- Young as the moring old as the
sea, Mumford and Sons'- Babel and Passengers- Little lights) in order to see what type of
design intrigued them the most and seeing what design type I should go for.
Passenger's-- young as the morning old as the sea Mumford and Sons'-- Babel Passengers-- Little lights
and the ending result was Passangers digipak for "Young as the morning, Old as the sea". so I
decided to base my new design on that digipak; having one simple picture take up the whole digipak
and with one focal point of a person in the picture of the singer.
6. MY AUDIENCE FEEDBACK OF MY ANCILLARY TASKS (WEBSITE)
My initial decision was to base my website on that of passengers one for there
album young as the morning old as the sea which conform with the simple design
idea that my focus group was overly keen on seeing. It also conformed with the
convention that the image of the website homepage matches that of the image on
the digipak.
