2.  In this presentation I will be looking at the
main task on a whole and look at the method I
used during this task and note the good points
as well as the things I could have done better.

3.  In the research part of the main task I feel that I
did well, I got involved with my target
audience a lot more as I felt that I am making a
product for them. And I did a lot more research
into everything for my product then I did in
the preliminary task.

4.  I started off the main task doing a hypothesis of
what I though my target audience would want
and who I wanted to aim my magazine at. I did
this because I needed to establish some guide
lines for my self so I know what I am aiming at.

5.  After setting up my hypothesis I made a
questionnaire which I handed out to members of
the public who I thought were my target audience
and by doing this I could get a more clear idea on
what my target audience wanted from my
product. I then did a post about how I would
attract the target audience to the product based off
the results of the questionnaire that I handed out;
as well as a post about which type of people would
be part of my target audience.

6.  I then did a product proposal on what type of
magazine I will be creating and who I will be
aiming my product at. Once I had done this I
did research into the conventions of rap
magazines (which was the genre of magazine I
was producing) as this would give me a good
idea of how to set out and create my own
magazine

7.  From here I created mind maps and drafts on
features of my magazine from the overall
appearance to each individual article title and
the presentation of the images on the product. I
then presented them to the target audience as I
felt I had to keep in touch with them due to the
product being made for them. I then made
corrections to the drafts, based on the feedback
I received and went into the production
process of my magazines.

8.  I then had a photo shoot where I took all the
images I was going to use for the magazine and
chose the one’s I was going to use in my final
product.
 One of the only problems I experienced during
the main task was that after taking the images
for the front cover I had chosen the image I
wanted to use and I had forgotten to save the
rest resulting in the images for the contents
page over writing these images.

9.  Once I had the images I was going to use for
my pages I began production of the first
versions of my magazine, once I had done this I
once again presented these versions to my
target audience and obtained feedback so I
could make my product better based on the
opinions of my target audience as well as
professionals such as teachers and magazine
designers.

10.  I then took the feedback I had obtained and
used it to make my final product.

11.  I feel that the method I used was good as I was
constantly involved with members of my target
audience as well as people who had experience
with the creation of media products such as
magazines before and this helped me make sure
that I had created a product which looked
professional and contained all the right material to
appeal to the target audience.
 I feel that if I had not gotten involved with the
target audience and kept obtaining feedback on
my product it wouldn’t be as good quality as it is
and it may have not been as appealing to the target
audience as it is.

12.  I feel that the method I used was good and the
only change I would make is to make sure that
I am less ‘sloppy’ in a sense as I lost some of
the images that I took for the front cover.
 I also feel that I could have worked in
collaboration with other people to make the
product meaning that when we were creating it
we would have been giving each other constant
feedback which means that we could have
made the product even better

13.  But apart from those points I feel that my
method was good and without using the
method, I could have finished with a very
different product which may not appeal to the
target audience which means that it would not
be succesful.
