This study evaluated the awareness of health and safety rules among 87 dental technicians working in public and private dental laboratories in 11 Libyan cities. A questionnaire assessed cleanliness, workspace conditions, air quality, lighting, safety of gas/electric lines, and presence of safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Results showed most technicians agreed their workspaces were clean but over half disagreed they had enough space or good air quality. Less than half of laboratories had adequate dust suction, fire extinguishers, or first aid kits. While most technicians used gloves, lab coats and masks, few used earplugs. The study concludes technicians were aware of personal safety but less aware of the importance of laboratory safety equipment for their health. It recommends dental technicians follow

Dat het Nieuwe Werken momenteel hot is onder gemeenten bewees de informatiebijeenkomst van RPS over ‘Het Nieuwe Werken in bestaande gebouwen’. 30 facilitair- en vastgoedmanagers van gemeenten kwamen onlangs in Houten bij elkaar om zich te laten informeren over de nieuwste ontwikkelingen en voor kennisdeling. Samen met de gemeente Houten en Center for People and Buildings verzorgde RPS presentaties over Het Nieuwe Werken. Inspirerende lezingen die leidden tot discussies en nieuwe inzichten.
Uitdaging:
Vooraf was gerekend op 20 genodigden. Een vergelijkbaar aantal als tijdens de eerste bijeenkomst eind vorig jaar. Er kwamen er 30 en die toenemende belangstelling noopte de organisatie uit te werken naar een grotere zaal. “Het leeft enorm binnen gemeenten”, weet Albert Geleijns, commercieel manager Huisvesting en Vastgoed binnen RPS. De lokale overheid staat aan de vooravond van organisatorische ontwikkelingen, zoals samenwerkingen, fusies en herindelingen. “Dat heeft zijn weerslag op de huisvesting. Gemeenten zijn zoekende naar hoe ze daar zo effectief en efficiënt mogelijk op kunnen inspelen. Ook zijn ze zich ervan bewust dat er gezien de financiële ontwikkelingen geen nieuw stadskantoor gebouwd zal worden. Het is voor veel gemeenten dus een uitdaging om het Nieuwe Werken binnen hun bestaand kantoorpand te realiseren”, aldus Geleijns.

Work place diseases and injuries are common prevalence in industries of Pakistan. The present study aimed at evaluating occupational health and safety (OH&S) conditions and risks posed to textile workers. Environmental and noise level monitoring at selected textile industry was carried out for three months. Hazard identification and risk evaluation was performed using OH&S audit checklist and questionnaire survey. Monitoring results showed relatively higher noise level in stitching unit. PM10 at ‘Grey’ inspection and ‘Cutting’ sections while temperature at ‘singeing’, ‘De-sizing’ and ‘stitching’ units exceeded the prescribed limits. Audiometric testing identified hearing losses among workers diagnosed with hearing disabilities. The frequency for testing hearing loss in left and right ears was set at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz. Significant risks of exposure to cotton dust, chemicals, increasing noise level and minor physical injuries at the work site were identified.

use of protective equipment to prevent health issues from chemical exposure.

Particle concentrations upstream and downstream of the mask were measured and efficiency was calculated. Single-use device, often called SUD, is a medical / dental device used only on one patient for a single procedure. SUDs are classified as critical, semi-critical and non-critical according to the set of criteria known as spaulding definitions. The use of disposable instruments does not come without a significant cost to health care system as well as environmental concerns. (5). Reprocessing of used instruments is becoming more and more prevalent with overall goal of saving money and decreasing environmental pollution. (4).
Natural antimicrobial agents and behaviour on face masksADITYA CHAUHAN
The increasing prevalence of infectious diseases in recent decades has posed a serious threat to public health. Routes of transmission differ, but the respiratory droplet or airborne route has the greatest potential to disrupt social intercourse, wearing face masks can reduce disease transmission. However, excessive use of single-use polymer-based face masks will pose a significant challenge to the environment. On the contrary, face masks with inherent antimicrobial properties can help in real-time deactivation of microorganisms enabling multiple-use and reduces secondary infections. Therefore, research on environment-friendly antimicrobial agents (AMA) based on natural products is gaining worldwide interest.
In this study, several research papers have been reviewed consisting of antimicrobial compounds, which are extracted from medicinal plants and found to be effective against bacteria when applied on face mask or have potential of being applied. Study, also includes different method of these AMA application and testing procedures.

The project defines the problem faced by the workers in powder coating industries. Powder coating is
a process by which electrostatically charged powder is applied on to an earthed object. The health effects that a
worker may experience following exposure to a hazardous chemical can become apparent after a short period of
time, and includes headaches, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, burns to skin and eyes an irritation to the nose,
throat and lungs. Long term health effects include asthma, dermatitis, kidney or liver damage, cancer and central
nervous system. The solution for the factors affecting the worker’s health and life, should provide the proper
protective equipment. Our design approach provides proper ventilated respiratory system to the person wearing
personal protective equipment, with air purification by providing the filters which will purify the air pumped
inside the kit.

expanding COVID-19 crisis left millions of front-line fighters unprotected. The disposal of PPE in the environment caused significant environmental pollution. Hence, indigenous initiatives have been taken to fabricate
antiviral and biodegradable face shields with the help of neoteric and cleaner technologies. This paper describes
a novel endeavor to design, manufacture, and performance analysis of a face shield made by plastic injection
molding and LASER Cutting. Because of the requirement of permanent wear, the face shield’s ergonomic design
is considered low weight and easy head fixation, alongside high production ability. Here, face shield frames are
made with lightweight, biodegradable plastic called Poly Lactic Acid (PLA), whereas an optical grade PLA sheet
is used as the visor for better clarity. Visors PLA Sheet is coated with Nano-Silver disinfectant spray to incorporate antiviral properties to the Faceshield. Partially circumferential adjustable elastic straps are used for
comfortable head fixation. To evaluate the product, clinical fit tests along with statistical survey were conducted,
and the feedback from the end-users on comfort (41% Excellent, 30% Good, 26% Average and 3% Poor), clear
view (33% Excellent, 38% Good, 24% Average, and 5% Poor), design features (43% Excellent, 35% Good, and
22% Average), simplicity of installation and disassembly (29% Excellent, 33% Good, and 38% Average), and
ease of wearing/removing (45% Excellent, 40% Good, and 15%Average) are encouraging.

Breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) status is a common and complex condition that necessitates a multifaceted approach to management. HR+ breast cancer means that the cancer cells grow in response to hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This subtype is prevalent among postmenopausal women and typically exhibits a more indolent course compared to other forms of breast cancer, which allows for a variety of treatment options.
Diagnosis and Staging
The diagnosis of HR+ breast cancer begins with clinical evaluation, imaging, and biopsy. Imaging modalities such as mammography, ultrasound, and MRI help in assessing the extent of the disease. Histopathological examination and immunohistochemical staining of the biopsy sample confirm the diagnosis and hormone receptor status by identifying the presence of estrogen receptors (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) on the tumor cells.
Staging involves determining the size of the tumor (T), the involvement of regional lymph nodes (N), and the presence of distant metastasis (M). The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system is commonly used. Accurate staging is critical as it guides treatment decisions.
Treatment Options
Endocrine Therapy
Endocrine therapy is the cornerstone of treatment for HR+ breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The primary goal is to reduce the levels of estrogen or block its effects on cancer cells. Commonly used agents include:
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs): Tamoxifen is a SERM that binds to estrogen receptors, blocking estrogen from stimulating breast cancer cells. It is effective but may have side effects such as increased risk of endometrial cancer and thromboembolic events.
Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs): These drugs, including anastrozole, letrozole, and exemestane, lower estrogen levels by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which converts androgens to estrogen in peripheral tissues. AIs are generally preferred in postmenopausal women due to their efficacy and safety profile compared to tamoxifen.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Downregulators (SERDs): Fulvestrant is a SERD that degrades estrogen receptors and is used in cases where resistance to other endocrine therapies develops.

ABSTRACT
A variety of materials are used in dental laboratories for manufacturing crowns and bridges, chromium-cobalt
frameworks, acrylic dentures, and other dental products. The use of these materials has caused respiratory
diseases, dermatological problems and neurotoxicity between dental technicians. Adequate and efficient
protection should be considered to prevent occupationally related diseases. This study was conducted in some
cites at different parts of Libya to know how are the dental technicians awareness about laboratory safety. This
study was included of eighty seven technicians that are working in public and private dental laboratories (11 and
26 laboratories respectively) in the following cities; Tripoli, Benghazi, Sabha, Misurata, Zliten, Alkhoms, Alzawia,
Alejelat, Agdabia, Al-Bida, and El-Gubba. The questions were about type of laboratory, cleanness, working area,
crowded, quality of air freshen, lighting, suction of dust, protection of gas tubes and electric cable, present of lab
safety tools and uses of personal protection tools. The results showed that whose agree with the cleanness were
83.9% where 16.1% disagree, while the opinion of technicians whose agree with working area, crowded, quality of
air freshen, lighting, protection of gas tubes and electric cable were 82.8, 42.5%, 69%, 72.4%, 89.7% and 79.3%
respectively. While the percentage of disagree were 17.2%, 57.5%, 31%, 27.6%, 10.3% and 20.7% respectively. The
laboratories safety tools (air suction, fire extinguisher, first aid box and emergency phone number) were present
in the laboratories in percentage of 51.4%, 32.4 %, 37.8% and 27% respectively. While correspondingly not present
in the percentage of 48.6%, 67.6%, 62.2% and 73%. Whereas the technicians used personal protection tools
(Eyeglasses, rubber gloves, thermal isolated gloves, lab coat, face mask and earplug) their percentages were 55.2%,
63.2%, 24.1%, 86.2%, 83.9 and 6.9%). While whose not used the personal tools their percentage were 44.8%, 36.8,
75.9% 13.8% 16.1% and 93.1 respectively. It can be seen that, the technicians were awareness about personal
safety, however they were less care about laboratories safety tools which are very important for their health and
safety. The study strongly recommends the dental technicians to follow the safety rule in their dental laboratories.

1. INTRODUCTION
A variety of materials are used in dental laboratories for manufacturing of different types of
dental prosthesis such as crowns and bridges, chromium-cobalt frameworks, acrylic dentures, and
other dental products. The uses of these materials have caused respiratory diseases, dermatological
problems and neurotoxicity between dental technicians. Several cases of respiratory disorders have
been reported among the members of this profession and epidemiological studies have shown a high
prevalence of pneumoconiosis related to duration of exposure (Zadeh & Dufresne, 1998; Hu et al.,
2006; Choudat, 1994; Wittczak et al., 2004). Since exposure is not limited to one substance, combined
exposure to several contaminants may be responsible for the pneumoconiosis. Exposures to metals,
waxes, resins and silica can cause irritation or allergic reactions, affecting either the skin or the
respiratory tract. The risks of benign pneumoconiosis induced by hard metals are well documented. A
prevalence of 15.4% after 20 or more years of exposure has been reported, whereas the prevalence in
the general population is less than 1% (Choël et al., 1999). Malignant pneumoconiosis is caused by
dust from crystalline silica, asbestos or beryllium. Silicosis is the most common occupational disease
among dental technicians, while for berylliosis the risk is not well documented. Isolated cases of
systemic autoimmune diseases have been observed. Silica is known to provoke systemic scleroderma,
but its role in prosthetics remains to be established (Nayebzadeh et al., 1999; Kim et al., 2002;
Dahmann et al., 2008).
