This document presents a study that evaluated the use of ultrasound elastography to assess response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in women with locally advanced breast cancer. 15 patients underwent ultrasound elastography before, during, and after chemotherapy treatment. Results found that elastography parameters including strain ratio and strain difference could discriminate between responding and non-responding tumors with up to 100% sensitivity and specificity at 4 weeks. The study demonstrates that elastography may help monitor chemotherapy response and help personalize cancer treatment.
