The student conducted a photoshoot with an actress to create images for their digital music packaging project. Their initial plans went well as they took a variety of photos that fit their theme. However, they realized they could have benefited from a more open approach rather than strictly adhering to their plans. While editing in Photoshop presented some challenges due to lack of experience, they were able to manipulate images and colors to achieve their desired look. Overall the project helped improve their Photoshop skills and understanding of the music industry, better preparing them for future creative projects.

The initial ideaformydigipackwasforit to have a pop theme andfor itto be a studioshoot.The
planwas to findsomeone thatwaswillingtobe myactress andtake photosthatI couldtheneditin
Photoshop.Ithinkthatmy planningwassuccessful andIstuckto my plansmostof the time,they
helpedme achieve mygoal because theygave me abase to setmy photosoff of so that the
photoshoothada purpose andI wasn’twastingtime bywonderingwhatphotostotake,onthe
otherhand,because I stuckto my planssomuch I gave myself littleleniencywiththe typesof
photosI wastaking.If I wasto do thisagainI wouldgo intoitwitha much more openmind about
whatI wantedto achieve andmake sure that I wentovera widerpossibilityof outcomesinsteadof
stickingtoone withoutanythought.
I thinkthat myphotoshootwassuccessful because Itookawide range of photosthat I usedinmy
digipackandtheyall came outhow I wantedthemtooandmy actressfit mytheme perfectly.I
foundthat the area thatI chose workedwell because Iwasable tokeepthe focuson the actress
throughoutmyshoot. I stuck to myplanswiththe imagesI tookbut I didmake slightchangesasI
realisedwhatIwantedfrommyphotosand how I wantedthemto lookafterI editedthemintomy
digipack.Myshoot wentwell because IhadeverythingIneededandthere weren’tanyproblems
withlocationwhichwasgoodbecause Iwas shootingoutside sothe weathercouldhave changed.
What I wouldhave changedif Ihad to do thisagain,was the amountof photosI took because Idon’t
thinkI tookenoughof a variationof photosand I foundmyself stuckwithwhatphotostouse in
certainplacesinmy digipack.
The editingprocesswasmostlysuccessfulasI knew whatI wasdoingto an extent.Ididnotfully
knowhowto use Photoshop somy editingtooklongerthanexpected butIwasable to do everything
that I wantedtodo. I stuckto my plansand recreatedwhatIhad drawn onpaper,what I thinkwent
well isthatI was able tobe adventurouswithPhotoshopandexplore coloursandmake mydigipack
lookhowI wanteditto look.What didn’tgoso well wasthatat some pointsI didn’tknow what to
use as backgroundsso I wasn’tjustusingthe original photosall the time.If Iwasto do thisagainI
wouldmake sure thatI knewwhatI was doingand have more of a clearideaabouthow I wantedit
to lookinsteadof onlyhavingabasic drawingof whatI was thinking,alsoIwouldtryanduse
Photoshopmore andfor itto not be so simple because whatIwasdoingwasn’tverychallenging.
I have learnta lotfrom thisunitand the musicindustryandwhathappensbehindthe scenesof an
artist’salbumandwhat goesintoit.I have improvedalot of my PhotoshopskillsandIam now able
to do thingsIwasn’table to before forexample,how tochange the opacityof some photosand
layerthemoverthe top of otherphotos,I have alsolearnthow to coloursome areas butstill be able
to see whatis underneath,Iusedthistechnique tochange the haircolourof my model soit suited
my genre more.Overall Ihave learntmanyskillsfromthisunitthatwill be useful tome inthe future
and will be able toapply themtoanythingI am doingbecause Ihave had practice and will be able to
improve sothe nexttime Iuse PhotoshopIwill be muchbetterwithusingitthanbefore andwhat I
am doingwill turnoutbetter.
