Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you
have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Research and planning –

From my preliminary task I learnt that I had to be more organised and scheduled, this is why I
created a diary of when I needed to do things. I feel I had a better understanding of the music
magazine industry and was able to produce detailed research and planning by knowing more about
it and where to find my information from. Furthermore I also learnt to plan more and do more drafts
with my full product so that I could make sure that I got everything the way I wanted it to be.

Audience –

Following on from my preliminary task I took on board the feedback and worked on it. Yet I decided
to make sure I had plenty of more audience feedback so I could see it from other people’s
perspectives and what the audience actually want. By offering peer feedback of my own it taught me
how to put my audience feedback into practise and improve my full product. It helped me by seeing
it from other peoples perspectives and how it would attract the audience more.

Construction –

Here are the images from my preliminary task contents to my full product contents. I learnt to give
the reader a direct mode of address. Although the lighting on my preliminary is good it’s not what I
was going for and much prefer the natural setting with the natural light in my full product. I also
learnt how to cut and edit the images better using photoshop and Indesign. Furthermore I made
sure that every piece of my magazine was exciting and there were no blank spaces as compared to
my preliminary task there were lots of empty spaces and it didn’t really stand out to the reader. I’ve
kept the ratio of text about the same from the preliminary task to full product but I conveyed it in a
very different way empathising certain words and highlighting them to the reader and making sure
the layout of text was fun and exciting compared to my preliminary of just boring sub headings.
