Institutions
We chose Pathe as our distributor because it is a mini major film company appropriate for our mid-sized budget film. Pathe has distributed successful films like Slumdog Millionaire and Selma. They also have actors like Idris Elba and Naomie Harris that could star in our film. We aim to do synergistic promotions through a musical artist like Adele who did the soundtrack for Skyfall, as Naomie Harris has worked with both Pathe and on Skyfall. Keeping our production and distribution companies the same (Pathe) will reduce costs compared to using separate companies, although larger studios could generate more profits. We will release the film in cinemas, then TV channels like the BBC

Preliminary evaluation
Planning helped the production go smoothly by having a script, shot list, and idea of what to convey. The script outlined shots while some dialogue was improvised for naturalness. Having a shot list gave direction for each shot.
Everyone contributed to planning by deciding genres and representations. All participated in production, with the author acting as lead. Jordan did most editing as he had editing software at home, allowing more time and higher quality.
Technical elements like costumes, locations, lighting, sound, editing, and camerawork were used effectively. Costumes fit the post-apocalyptic genre. Abandoned locations looked apocalyptic. Low key lighting created struggle. Sound added pace and introduced characters.

Evaluation question 7

A2 Media Evaluation
Here are the key steps I took in Adobe Premier Pro to edit my footage:
1. I imported all of my raw footage into Adobe Premier Pro using the "Import" function.
2. I used the "Razor Tool" to cut my footage into individual clips at the points I wanted.
3. I arranged the clips on the timeline in the order I wanted them to play using drag and drop.
4. I applied transitions such as "fade" between clips using options in the "Effects" panel.
5. I added audio tracks including music and sound effects, adjusting the volume as needed.
6. I colour corrected clips and added other visual effects like brightness/contrast adjustments
Improvements
The task was to recreate a horror movie trailer within 30-45 seconds by researching existing horror films. The group chose to recreate the trailer for "The Blair Witch Project". They filmed different scenes and settings without complex equipment. To improve, they could enhance the audio quality, lighting, and add elements like screams to make it more like a conventional horror trailer. While aspects like editing, acting and use of shots worked well, the lighting, audio levels, and makeup effects could be improved upon for a more professional quality.
Making the Prelim

- 2. COLOUR BALANCE These are shots before I colour balanced it. They have a very warm and yellow hue to the image. I decided to change it so that it would fit the genre of our film better.
- 3. COLOUR BALANCE These screenshots are after I changed the colour balance of the shots. They have a much cooler tone and blue and green undertone. I think this looks more cinematic and more effective for the neo noir look of our film.
- 5. INSPIRATON When doing research into neo noir, I watched the brick trailer and film and liked how it had a cool tone effect, therefore I took inspiration and tried use it in our trailer. I also thought it was good because it was the same genre as our film therefore it would help to have similar conventions.
- 6. VIDEO OVERLAY I decided to overlay one shot on top of another because it added more dynamic and made the trailer a bit more interesting.
- 7. VIDEO OVERLAY - HOW To overlay two shots and fade out another, I put in key frames where I wanted to overlay the shots and then reduced the opacity of the shot.
- 8. TITLES
- 9. HOW To create a title I went to the FILE menu and Then scrolled to NEW and then scrolled down to TITLE. And then I decided to choose LETTER GOTHIC STD as the font for the titles.
