This document discusses the audience for a media production. Focus groups and surveys identified the target audience as mainly male ages 19-60 from working to middle class backgrounds with no specific ethnicity. The production aimed to attract this audience by appealing to their preferences for humor, violence, language and style in crime films. Mise-en-scene elements like settings, vehicles and clothing were typical of British crime films to feel familiar. Character portrayals were brief and simple, lacking depth, so the preferred reading could potentially be misinterpreted. Failing to include a female character may have limited appeal to female viewers.
