WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
I had never used the software associated with AS Media before so it was
interesting learning to use the software such as filming, sound and
editing.
We started with our blogs on BlogSpot.com. I found it very easy to navigate
after spending some time on the site. It is appropriate in regards to film
as it can be constantly adapted to improve it or focus it towards a
specific audience.
I began by using text and including images I had copied and pasted from
the internet. To advance my blog I began to import videos from YouTube
into my blog by embedding the HTML code from the site and putting it
into my blog.
Then I looked at other sites which could enhance my blog including
prezi.com.
SHOOTING/CAMERA
To shoot our title sequence we used the Canon Legria. Having a limited but
basic level of understanding of cameras we found it tricky but not too
complicated. While filming we discovered that holding the camera
rather than using the tripod was difficult and made the image shakier
than we had thought. After using the camera more we improved and had
steadier video. This camera gave us an advantage as it allowed us to
watch our filming back instantly so it let us see if anything needed
changing or if we could improve certain aspects. We used zoom to
create tension and show the audience a closer view of the action. When
taking pictures of locations when deciding to film I used the camera on
my iPhone as the photo quality was still good enough.
INTERNET
While we planned our title sequence we used the internet to get information
and images that relate to thrillers. We used sites like YouTube to watch
trailers and other informative videos.

Google was the search engine that we mainly used to gather useful
information and knowledge. We used the internet to find available music
that was copyright free that we could include in our filming. Also we
used sites like prezi.com to improve our blog.
EDITING
Before starting the course I had absolutely no experience with any editing
software. By using Adobe After Effects I have been able to gradually
expand my knowledge of editing software.
Using Adobe After Effects enabled us to easily and seamlessly switch
between shots.
This type of technology enables anyone one to easily try and interact with
the film industry. It is easy to operate a camera and basic editing
software can be obtained easily. Things like this allow people to gain
information and understanding of the film industry and what is needed
to create a production.
