Evaluation 6: What have you learnt about
   technologies from the process of
       constructing this product?
            Aivaras Vaitiekunas
Video camera
 The camera was the main part of my filming
because without it I would of had to use my
own camera which is really bad quality and I
have also used the camera for the preliminary
task. I have noticed that even though my
camera on my phone is 720p which is HD and
the school camera is 480p, the school camera
has better video capabilities than the phone,
also it allows me to record for much longer
since it has more memory. Whilst being able
to use the camera for the preliminary task it
allowed me to get more experienced with the
Tripod
 I have used the tripod for my film because I had
to make the scene and the shot a steady shot.
The main use for a tripod is to keep something
steady and not moving whilst being
recorded, another use for a tripod is that you can
make a pan shot which is a shot that goes from
one left to right or vice versa and also you can go
down and up. I have learnt that using the tripod
keeps the camera steady and when using the
tripod that the weight of the camera is very
important because it determines how easy it is to
 move the camera around.
USB Cable
 The main purpose of the USB cable was to
transfer the videos from the camera to the
iMac because the other ways were to time
consuming, for example if I used the memory
card transfer cable to transfer to the iMac I
would have to get the transfer cable then
upload it to the Mac then put the memory
back in the camera. If I used the mailing way it
would of taken even longer because I would
have to email it to myself then upload and
 download on the Mac.
SD Memory card
 I have used a SD memory card for the camera
to keep all the footage safe and because the
camera did not have much memory inside
which meant that I would not have to worry
about not having enough memory. When using
the memory card it gave me problems
because they would always ask me to format
the card when I would film some footage and
try to upload to the Mac. The advantage of
having the memory cards is that you can
transfer from one camera to another.
iMac (computer)
 When using the computer it allowed me
to do what I wanted because it was an
advanced piece of technology and it
also meant that the editing software was
up to date on the Mac. I also had past
experience with the Mac from using it
with the preliminary task and past years
 doing Photoshop and adobe after
effects. The iMac has features such as
 Photoshop and other Adobe products
which are really useful for research.
iMovie and Photoshop
 I used iMovie so that I could edit my videos with
good in instructions from the software which
helped me to do what I wanted to do. Using
iMovie is easy and effective because it allows
new users to quickly get the hang of the software
and make movies easily. I have also gained more
experience from when I was making the
  preliminary task.
 I have used Photoshop to make my company
logo which I have been told to use because it was
the best image creating software which was
available to me. When using the program it
helped me gain confidence for future designs.
Microsoft
 When using Microsoft I made many
tasks on here, for example when I had
to do some tasks on Word or
 PowerPoint, I have good experience
with these programs because I have
been using these before. I have learnt
how to embed my Microsoft PowerPoint
presentation to the blogger which I have
 created.
Youtube
 YouTube had a huge impact in my research and
on the other online tools I used because that's
where I learnt most of my things wrong and I had
to upload all my videos such as the preliminary
task, audience expectations and the final film. I
have also used this to get insight in other action
movies and see how they make their openings so
that I can research about it and make my own.
YouTube was easy for me to use because I have
had an account already and I have uploaded
some videos before just for personal use so
uploading and knowing how to make it visible for
 people was fairly easy.
Slideshare and Google
 Slideshare was used for when I completed a task
on PowerPoint so that I could embed the
presentation online. This was a very useful tool
because it allowed me to make presentation on
PowerPoint then export them to the website and
upload to the blog without having to convert any
  files.
 Using Google was one of my main online tool
because I had to research all my work through
there and other sources. Google allowed me to
search up any problems I was having with any
software's or hardware's. Google was also part of
eBlogger which I had to create an account on.
eBlogger
 I used eBlogger to post all of my project on and create
a blog out of it hence the name of the online tool. This
was really useful because it allowed users to see
each others work and see what the tasks were which
you had to log in through Google. We had to post all
of our work which included the written work and the
videos which we created such as the preliminary task
and the final video embedded into the blog. I have
learnt a lot of new stuff whilst using the blogger
because this was my first time using it, since then I
have become more comfortable with it. The blogger
allowed me to add images and label my work so that
it would be easier to find for other people.
Mindmeister
 Mindmeister is a website where you can create
professional looking mind maps and this allowed
me to add images and text stating my point in
what I was talking about. This was a new
experience for me because I have never seen or
used this website before. I used Mindmeister
because I wanted to present my work as
professionally as possible instead of making it on
PowerPoint or word which would look boring. We
had to show some features of the film opening, so
I have included different types of features for
example I have talked about the
 costumes, characters, props, locations and
