Evaluation
1. Cereal Design and Advert
Evaluation.
By Maisie Bonnett, Alfie Clements,
Louis Allwood.
2. Research and planning
• To start I researched several cereal to see what the average price for cereals were.
Then I used survey monkey to find out what the most preferred flavour for cereal
and what nutritional content parents like to see in kids cereals.
• I found out what my target audience would be by knowing that younger people
like to eat coco pops which is what our cereal is based on. So we aimed our
product at 3-9 year olds. It is mainly aimed at school kids as our cereal is meant to
help your Childs learning , so school children can use it.
• When I was watching the adverts I learnt that the advert had to be fun and have a
very catchy logo. Also the advert must of included the cereal box visible on screen.
Also I learnt that a mascot needed to portray the cereal on screen so it is visible on
the supermarkets shelf.
• Our main competitors are coco pops and krave.

7. My cereal homework
I Compared two
products on the
market , that were
going to be the most
similar to my final
product.
8. The product
My product is called Brain Pops.
The retail price for our cereal is £2.99.
Our slogan is : You love brain pops , brain pops help you.
Brain pops is very healthy and good for your brain as it contains
lots of vitamin c and iron which helps with a Childs learning.
9. Codes and Conventions.
• When making the cereal box for brain pops I followed the
rules of advertising because in our advert we have got a shot
of our cereal box so the target audience know when they are
watching TV, to look out for our cereal on the shelf in
supermarkets.
• Also in our advert it encourages young children to eat brain
pops as it will help you get your A* grades at GCSE.
10. Box Design
• When making my cereal box I didn't stick with the same
design as we started off with brain flakes which had a purple
cover then we changed our name to brain pops and changed
our box to be in a classroom setting.
• I have not changed my mascot as the running brain helps to
put across the aspects that our cereal makes you very clever
and intelligent.
14. Voice over of advert.
• In our advert we are going to say:
• Come and taste this delicious new cereal , full of
vitamins and iron. This will leave a buzz with you all
day. This scrumptious chocolate puff cereal is tasty
and pops in your mouth , what could be better for
breakfast.
15. The finished product.
• Our cereal product brain pops appeals to parents as it is helping there
children learn. Also It is a great selling point against our main competitor
coco pops as they are not healthy. Also our product box looks real as it
blends in and it looks as if it was done professionally , not drawn by hand.
Also our product has a unique selling point.
• Our product could of been changed as sticking with the brain theme the
pops could be in the shapes of brains. Also our product could of a had a
better usp. We could of made our selling point that ever purchase comes
with a free voucher for cinema ticket or for £2.00 off in whsmiths. Also our
products box was not very exciting I could of made it blend together better
as it didn’t completely link.
16. Advert
• Our advert had a great theme to it in a classroom to show our usp of
helping children learn better and concentrate. Also our advert included a
shot of the cereal box which is vital to show the target audience what to
look out for on the supermarket shelf's.
• Our advert could of been improved , by seeing inside the Childs head and
see the pressure that is building up and then when he eats the cereal the
brain will be at rest and the person could become colourful. This add a
better point to the advert so it is a lot easier to remember. Also at the end
of the advert our mascot could say our slogon. This would make our cereal
even more rememberable.
19. Group evaluation
• Our group worked very well toghether,as we completed every
task. Also we delegated tasks between us. Also we all had
equal roles. We were strong as a group for written tasks and
the advert but we were not so strong on the creating of the
cereal box as none of us are very arty. We worked well when
doing presentations and also when we had to come up with
our idea for our cereal. However we struggled when it came
to the filming of the advert because of absences.
20. What have i learnt?
• In this project I have learnt how to use fireworks and
wiki spaces.
• I have also learnt the codes of advertising and the
importance of research. I have also learnt how to use
survey monkey to get results to analyse clearly. I
have also learnt how to create a cereal box and
analysing and correcting. Also how to do a advert
storyboard.
