Tom Ross created a 1 hour radio show about Manchester music and news using recordings from the Eccles College radio studio and a personal audio recorder. While the quality of the recordings was clear, Tom notes that his speaking could have been clearer. He learned how to edit sound clips and adjust volumes using Reaper audio editing software. For his next project, Tom would create a survey first to get audience input, have a co-presenter to make recording easier, and add jingles to make the show more professional. Overall, most listeners thought the show was good but some felt it was unprofessional, and Tom is happy with the final outcome while seeing ways it could be improved.

Did your final project matchyour expectations?
I thinkmyfinal didmeetmostof the expectationsasIstuck to the theme of Manchesterandplayed
justManchestermusicfrom the listIgave myself.ThiswasmymainpriorityasI didn’twantto drift

was close as some people said yes and some said no. I think that to improve this I
will need more practise in the radio room and presenting shows so that my
confidence and skills improve.
