1. In what way does your media
product use, challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?

2. My media product has mainly used different kinds of forms and conventions of
real media products, that have been developed further in some way and then
maybe challenged.
For example instead of sticking to the same idea of having any old agent, that I
used from a real media product, Men In Black, I developed the convention of the
hero and turned the character into an alien. Now this is in some way seen as
breaking the convention of having the hero as an alien, because aliens are
stereotyped into being the villain of the film like Edgar in Men In Black, or maybe
the sidekick such as Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars, who is still stereotyped and made
to look very annoying and stupid.

3. I also thought of using a genre and convention of a real media product,
combining them to make a unique font style that fitted in with the
detective/mystery science fiction genre of my opening sequence and then
using it as the font for the film title and the description text that is included in
my opening sequence
Firstly I used the distinctive green colour from The Matrix, that had been used
throughout the film, for example in the film title and also the opening titles. I
used the green colour in my film title and also the description text as it gave
my film the science fiction factor. The colour green is a convention that is
usually referred to science fiction therefore my opening sequence had the
science fiction element.

4. Also I used an American type writer styled font that allowed me to express
the detective/mystery genre in my opening sequence. This is because the
American type writer font is used in many old America detective films so it
also gave my opening sequence the detective/mystery element.
