Transcribathon is a citizen science initiative that aims to transcribe, annotate, and geotag documents from Europeana 1914-1918 to make them more accessible. It seeks to engage citizens and students to contribute to shared historical narratives, improve student learning, and enrich metadata for Europeana. Past events in Romania demonstrated concrete impact, with over 60 participants transcribing 1 million characters in a week, which were then published in a book.
