also used videochat to help both of my members for presentation and speeches. We

As a result, we got a 38/45. We took advantage of break by practicing our part
during that time. This helped us improve our abilities and skills on presentation
because I would give my perspective on our group s strengths and weaknesses.

If you were to visit the Dallas Museum of Art, you would find a truly remarkable

Conception. This particular painting is located in the American Art Spanish Colonial

In this particular painting, references from Catholic theology are used throughout the

Walking into my final class of the day, I noticed that a fellow student is with a dog.
As I got closer to the couple, the urge to pet the animal washed over me. My hands
began to itch to feel the fur on my skin and to find the extraordinary spot behind the
ear that all dogs love. However, a red vest caught my eyes with the words SERVICE
DOG and DO NOT PET that yelled at me to not go through with my actions.
Reluctantly obeying the warnings, I sat down next to the pair with an
unaccomplished mission that was put before me. Trying to ignore the desire to pet
the dog, another student asked if they could pet the dog. I heard the owner respond
with, I m sorry. He s still in training. After hearing this, I realized that we forget that
these dogs are on the job to help out their owners with their medical or mental
disabilities and we, the outsiders, only see these dogs for our amusement. By

True love conquers all is an idealistic yet common theme in romantic comedies. In
Pretty in Pink, the two main characters surmount great odds to be together. Andie
and Blane come from two different economic classes. Blaine comes from an upper
class family, drives an expensive car and wears trendy clothes. In contrast, Andie
lives in a modest house with her father who struggles to hold a job. She sews her
own clothes and works at the record store after school to subsidize their bills. Andie
and Blane s vast economic differences influence every part of their lives, including

A girl fell off the fourteenth floor! was the response I got when I inquired about the
multiple ambulances outside my dorm at the beginning of sophomore year. The
truth of what happened was much more unsettling. Instead of an accident, the girl,
Jenny, had actually jumped from her dorm window, leaving behind a note saying
ending her life was the only way she saw to stopping her pain. I had known Jenny
briefly when she was my Orientation Leader. By all accounts she was a cheerful girl
who lights up any room she enters. Her friends and family all expressed shock and
disbelief there was no warning, no signs at all she was struggling or suffering. In
midst of an outpouring of empathy from the studentbody, many students admitted that
they also had suicidal thoughts, but likewise would never ask for help. Growing up
as an Asian American, I was all too familiar with the stigma associated with mental
illness. In high school, I watched my best friend resorting to self harming when the
pressure of college application became too much to handle. When she tried to tell
her first generation immigrant parents about her depression, they merely told her

should find out. Even educated parents like mine do not view depression as a real
illness the same way they view diabetes or cancer. Having watched many friends

Heroism In The Outsiders
Heroism is a general term which means having or performing the qualities of a
hero. This past month, in English and Civics, students have researched and have
explored the meaning of heroism using the 8th grade themes of Order and Chaos.
Specifically in English, students have examined both literary and real life heroes
which have either worked in areas of chaos or in order. In English, students read
novels written about heroes in areas of chaos and order. Personally I have learned the
nature of heroism through chaos and order by reading the book, The Outsiders.
