ETRC events in November 2011.
As usual, November started with the usual Fall School session which lasted for 4 days (October the
31st – November the 3rd.) The session was attended by 55-60 teachers from different regions of
Moldova.
 After the Fall School we have continued running our usual seminars for
English teachers.
On November the 10th, 2011 – Valerie Colby, chief of the Public Affair
Section, US Embassy from Moldova, presented the seminar “The history
of American Holidays”. The seminar was attended by 21 persons.
On November the 11th, ETRC in collaboration with Macmillan Education,
                                   organized 2 seminars for English
                                   teachers. Elena Kolesnik, “Macmillan
                                   Education” director, presented the seminar: “Ways of presenting
                                   Grammar in the Secondary School”. The seminar was held at the
                                   Manhattan Hotel Conference Hall. The second seminar was held at
                                   the ETRC and it was presented by Natalia
                                   Shilova, “Macmillab Education” Kiev, who
                                   presented the seminar: “Vocabulary and
                                   effective use of dictionaries in the process
of Education”. Both seminars were attended by an average number of 25-
30 teachers from different institutions.
On November the 16th, 2011 – Irina Pomazanovschi, presented the
workshop “Cultural notes”. The seminar was attended by 8 teachers.
On November the 24th, Tatiana Babici – English teacher at the “Studio”
                                 Language Center, presented the seminar: “Hard work or
                                 Entertainment – new ways of teaching
                                 vocabulary”.
                                 The seminar was attended by 9 teachers.
                                 On November the 30th, 2011 – Angela Rosca,
                                 English Teacher at the English Philology Chair,
                                 SPU “Ion Creanga”, presented the seminar
                                 “Books and reading”. The seminar, which
was intended for university lecturers was attended by 7 teachers from
different institutions.
We also continued running our FACE club meetings for students. Every Friday at 2.00 p.m, the
                        students got together to discuss on different topics. The meetings were
                        facilitated by the US Fulbright students: Matt & Brynn Adamson. Each
                        session is attended by an average number of 10-15 students. We did also
                        restarted the Debates at the ETRC. The first meeting for the debates took
                        place on November the 18th, 2011 and
                        was facilitated by Andrei Feodorov, TOEFL
Instructor, TerraNova Language Center.
