ETRC events in March 2010

The month of March began with Spring School for teachers. All the participants had to register in advance. The school lasted 4
days, there were organized 10 seminars. Total number of participants was: 154; it means in average there were 38-39
participants in the seminars every day.
The most active participants got certificates and prizes. Report in pictures can be found here:

After the school was over the ETRC continued to run seminars on usual basis every Thursday at 16:00. According to the plan
there are to be organized 3 seminars for school teachers and 1 for university professors.

                                                       The first one was organized on February 11 presented by Elizabeth
                                                       Mates “A Huge Halg Century: Progress for women.” There were 18
                                                       participants at the seminar.

                                                       On February 16th both students and teachers met for debates: “Cats are
                                                       better paets than dogs” there were 7 participnats. The obejective of
                                                       debates is to practice oratory and speaking abilities.

                                                       On February 17th ETRC hosted a demonstrative lesson presneted by
                                                       Tatiana Cravcenco, Ion
                                                       Creanga lecturer, who
                                                       presented    the   topic
“Family Values” for English language teachers from English Department.

On february18th, Irina Cuzminih presented a semina “WOW: world of women”.
This seminar was a joint project with graduate students, all the presenters’ ahd to
                                                           do a part of the
                                                           seminar,     conducting
                                                           surveys and collecting
                                                           information.        The
                                                           seminar was connected with the international women’s day and tried
                                                           to present different spheres of the life of a woman. Participants were
                                                           provided with handouts and ready-made activities on different
                                                           topics: shopping, beuty, travelling, children and family, money and
                                                           business. The total number of participnats was 19.

                                                           Next seminar was held
                                                           on     February    24th,
                                                           presenter Larisa Guzun,
topic “Famous women-writers”. Total number of participants was 5 persons. The
objective of the seminar was to present the most significant women names in the
world of literature, interesting facts from their biography and the most important
pieces of literature written by their hand.

                                                On February 25th, Irina Cuzminhi
                                                presented anotehrs eminar. Topic
                                                “World famous before 4 – miracle
                                                worker – Maria Montessori”. Total
                                                number of participants: 12. Main objective of the seminar was to discuss
                                                method of educating children presented by M/ Montessori, learn facts from her
                                                biography, tead and listen to some tasks connected with schoola nd studying.

                                               On March 26th students met for discussion, topic “Beauty”. There were 10
                                               participants in the discussion.
During this month ETRC ran 3 Movie Sessions, one was planned as usual on March 16 th (last friday) – In her shoes, other two
were ordered by teachers from Chisinau lyceum LION and IRIM.
Conclusion in numbers:
