This document summarizes a panel discussion from the 2009 FAAPI Conference Proceedings titled "A Room of One's Own" about perspectives on teaching literature. It focuses on three presentations: 1) "Teaching Narrative, Narrating Teaching" addressed introducing literary theory to students by relating it to popular genres. 2) "Reading Groups" discussed setting up reading groups not just as educational but also as a social issue, pointing out theoretical dynamics of small groups. 3) "Literature in Teacher Education” traced changes in Argentina's literary curriculum for teachers from an emphasis on exposure to works to a focus on teachers' professional development, and challenges of implementing an ambitious new program with fewer teaching periods.
