NETWORK (GLEN)
GLEN Project is one project of AIESEC
LC Universitas Gadjah Mada which has
purpose to increase ability of speaking
in English for High School and
Undergraduates students in
Yogyakarta.
3. The Activities in GLEN
Some of activity in this project like
learning about how to speak in
discussion and dare to speak in
English, also there is culture induction
(culture sharing) from Exchange
Participant to Project Participants.
4. Place, Time, and Participants
• Location: At Learning Partner, Cilacs UII,
Yogyakarta
• Range of Time: 8 weeks
• Period: 15 April until 10 June 2013
5. Session
• Speaking club (English)
• Open for 3 groups (each groups have 5-8
participants)
• 1 intern facilitator of AIESEC
6. TIMELINE
• May 2013 - July 2013*
• The date isn't fixed yet. It can be negotiated
on interview.
7. What will the EP do on this project?
• The EP will be a teacher in a conversation
class. There will be three classes and each
class has three sessions in a week. Every
session takes 90 minutes. In one session,
every participant will learn how to
communicate actively in English in fun
methods.
8. • The classes will go for 8 weeks, so there will be 8
topics that EP can give as study materials. EP
should give different topics every week. The
topics are:
• a. Culture
• b. Family
• c. Love
• d. Environment
• e. Travel
• f. Myth
• g. Life-changing Experience
• h. Dream/Passion
9. • In forth week, we'll have an outing class to
Prambanan Temple* (extracurricular activity).
This outing class is implied to support the
participants to actively communicate in
English with international tourists. Also, we
can learn about Indonesian culture through
this outing class.

60” Shock Teraphy Every participant will get a paper randomly. On that paper, there's a question about
topic of the week. The participant is expected to show their opinion in front of the class.
20” Listening Music / Listen to an English song to improve their vocabulary and how to spell the word
Material correctly. The participant will be given the text of the song but some words are missing.
So they have to fill in the blank.
5 – 10” Q&A Review of today’s lesson + question n’ answer
12. Day C
Duration Activity Explanation
60” Presentation Presentation about topic of the week and what they have discussed in two sessions
earlier. This activity is expected to enhance their courage to speak in front of audience.
20” Personal Assessment EP gives an opinion about the progress.
5 – 10” Review + Q & A Review of today’s lesson + question n’ answer
13. • Achievement Record will be given to
participants when they get the turn to do their
presentation. This Achievement Record will be
given as Personal Achievement, and they will
get this in the end of their presentation. In the
end of GLEN Projet, participant who has the
highest Achievement will get a reward.
14. Aspect
• Aspect that will be evaluated in Personal
Assessment :

• · Fluency (Word come out easily or not)
• · Pronunciation (Pelafalan / intonasi)
• · Vocabulary (world riches) based on
