activity
Involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right
and wrong conduct

META-ETHICS
Branch of ethics that seeks to understand the nature of ethical properties,
statements, attitudes, and judgments
NORMATIVE ETHICS
Normative ethics is the study of ethical action. It is the branch of
philosophical ethics that investigates the set of questions that arise when
considering how one ought to act, morally speaking.
APPLIED ETHICS
Applied ethics is the branch of ethics concerned with the analysis of
particular moral issues in private and public life
WHAT ARE POLITICS?
The art or science of running governmental or state affairs, including
behavior within the civil government
CODE OF ETHICS FOR POLITICIANS
• Tell the truth
• Take responsibility
• Risk above the fray
• Listen
• Criticize the ARGUMENT, not the
PEOPLE
• Don’t make promises you cannot
keep
• Spend fairly
• Remember what it is about

IMPORTANCE OF ETHICS
Ethics is a requirement for human life. It is our means of deciding a course
of action. Without it, our actions would be random and aimless. To the
degree which a rational ethical standard is taken, we are able to correctly
organize our goals and actions to accomplish our most important values.
