Essays Term Papers
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays Term Papers" can be a challenging endeavor. While it
may seem ironic to delve into the complexities of composing an essay about essays and term
papers, it actually poses unique difficulties. The challenge lies in the need to maintain a balance
between providing insightful information about the characteristics and importance of essays and
term papers, while also ensuring that the essay itself adheres to the standards it advocates.
One obstacle is the risk of sounding repetitive or self-referential. It's crucial to present a
comprehensive overview of the subject matter without becoming overly redundant or circular in
one's arguments. Additionally, there is a constant tension between discussing the general
principles of essay and term paper writing and offering practical tips that can truly assist the
reader in improving their own writing skills.
Furthermore, the essay must navigate the fine line between being informative and engaging. It's
not just about relaying information but also about capturing the reader's interest and keeping
them invested in the discourse. Striking this balance is often easier said than done, as it requires
a nuanced understanding of the audience's expectations and a skillful integration of both
theoretical and practical insights.
The inherent challenge in crafting an essay on this topic lies in the potential for the content to
become too meta or abstract. The danger is that the essay might lose its clarity and fail to deliver
concrete takeaways for the reader. Hence, the writer must constantly be mindful of their
objectives and strive to provide valuable, actionable information that goes beyond mere
theoretical discourse.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Essays Term Papers" necessitates navigating a delicate path,
balancing theoretical discussions with practical advice and avoiding the pitfalls of becoming too
self-referential. It's an intricate process that demands careful consideration of the audience's
expectations and a commitment to delivering meaningful insights. For those who find themselves
grappling with such challenges or are pressed for time, it's worth noting that similar essays and

Business Communication Is The Art Of Communicating
Business communication is the art of communicating in a professional environment.
It is both an art and science and the life s blood of any successful corporation. The
premise of business communication is that the writer is always speaking with the
audience in mind. She has to make the content relevant and usable to the reader or it
is not effective. Unlike other forms of writing, such as academic writing which has a
captive audience, business writing is always a negotiation with a fluid audience that
has the ability to come or go as they please. It is this dynamic fluidity that draws the
Millennial Generation to the field of business communication in droves. The
Millennial Generation is defined as those born in the early 1981 to 1996 (Millennials
in Adulthood). The digitized world of the Millennials has also transformed the field
of business communication. The Millennials have influenced workplace
communication by creating continuously connected work teams, collaboration
without boarders, and greater diversity in employee engagement. The intertwining of
social media, Millennials, and workplace communication has made the workplace a
more flexible and productive environment. The previous generation could only
transform what they could touch; therefore they were limited in their connectivity
and productivity. These generations known as the baby boomers and the silent
generation, were limited to their one departmental idea. In the spirit of the Ford

Physical And Treatment Of Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is one of the most important medical health related fields out
there. Physical Therapists play a crucial role in their patient s overall health.
However, the main goals of a Physical Therapist is to aid in recovery, rehab,
increase range of motion, and reduce pain for their patients. During a normal work
day, they will typically see a variety of patients whose age can range from an eight
year old to an 85 year old, and each one with a challenging and unique health issue.
These issues can be anything from a post surgical athlete trying to get back on the
playing field to a 65 year old grandma who has hip and knee problems and needs
exercises to strengthen those areas. In order for their patients to strengthen or
rehabilitate a certain area, a treatment plan needs to be developed. Here, PT s select
exercises, stretches, and other techniques which they think will help their patient s
recovery process and get them back to normal. Therefore, treatment plans are one of
the most important aspects of the job description. Although these Physical Therapists
are medical professionals, they cannot include everything in their treatment plans. For
example, they cannot perform surgery or give prescription medications because they
are not technically specialized or fully qualified to do so. But instead, they can
recommend their patient s to a doctor who can perform surgery on them or suggest a
medication a Physician can prescribe to them. Typically, Physical Therapists
Insenstivity Of Humanness In The Stranger By Albert
Camus
In society, behaving in a way that distances oneself from others is viewed as
unacceptable: be it mentally or physically. In the novel, The Stranger, by Albert
Camus, the main character, Meursault, does just that. Throughout the novel,
Meursault creates a problem for himself by emphasizing his individual existence
rather than acknowledging others. The text suggests that the solution to the presented
problem for Meursault is to recognize the subjectivity of others around him: such as
his mother and friends.
Meursault primarily shows his insensitivity toward others at his mother s funeral. At
the funeral, Meursault does not cry or show any signs of mourning the death of his
mother. He is very passive, and he even disregards the feelings of others present. The
text states, The woman kept on crying. It surprised me, because I didn t know who
she was. I wished I didn t have to listen to her anymore (10). This quote demonstrates
Meursault s passivity about the feelings of others. He puts off the feelings of the
woman due to the fact that he has never seen her and he wants her to essentially shut
up. This insensitivity towards others and his own mother s death is eventually used
against him when he is being tried for murder. The fact that Meursault did not cry
during the funeral and that he admittedly smoked in front of his mother s casket
while keeping vigil leads the prosecutor to question Meursault s place in society. As
Meursault sits in the courtroom, in his mind he
Oxytoological Perceptions Of Emotions
Biologically, and as detected in fMRI scans, dogs have detected voice regions in
their brains just like people and they are sensitive to acoustic cues of emotions
meaning that dog s brains detect different tones of voice depending on one s
emotions (Andics, Gacsi, Frajo, Kis, Mikiosi, 2014). Oxytocin is known as the love
hormone due to its increases after touch and stimulation. Zak (2014) measured
oxytocin levels of dogs through their saliva. He collected samples of the dogs saliva
before and after an interaction with their owners and found that the dogs oxytocin
level rose by 57.2%. Similarly, Nagasawa, Mogi, and Kikusui (2009) find that human
dogattachment requires distinction using specific social cues and specific responses...

This was examined by whether they just respond to the emotional message
received with a corresponding increase or decrease in their level of activation,
whether they perceive that the emotional message refers to a specific object, if they
follow the positive message or ignore the negative message and whether their
familiarity with the informant had an effect on the dog s behavior. It was found that
the dogs were capable of distinguishing between happy and fearful emotions
however they struggled to determine the difference between fearful and neutral
behaviors. The dogs did not respond as effectively to the strangers in comparison to
their owners (Merola, et al., 2014). In this study it is evident that the dogs are able to
comprehend some emotions such as happiness and fear which are two opposite
extremes of emotions; they did, however struggle to understand more closely related
emotions such as neutrality and fear.
When shown photos of human faces exhibiting different emotions, dogs are also
able to recognize the differences between photos. Rather than just studying dogs
displaying learned behaviors, psychologists studied abstract representations of
positive and negative emotion states in dogs. Seventeen dogs were shown pairs of
pictures of either a happy or angry person and were also played either playful or

The Higher Price of Higher Education
The High Price of Higher Education In America s society today, students are
expected to follow the path of day care, grade school, middle school, high school and
hopefully college. Growing up in America today, the importance of education is
stressed starting at the earliest stages of development. In a world with a competitive
job market and with citizens who want to make the most money that they can, a
college education is key in success. For some students, financing college is not a
problem. Money should not be a factor in the student s decision making process when
choosing what school to attend, but unfortunately many people are unable to attend
the universityof their choice due to the high costs. Working through college is not...

If this is the case then there should be documentation of these increases but, academic
institutions have made little effort either on or off campus to make themselves
transparent to explain their finances, (Tuition Rising). There is no documentation that
describes what every penny of tuition pays for. It is only stated that it goes toward
administrative costs, faculty salaries, technology, Federal regulation, endowment,
State appropriations, (Tuition Rising). But why are the costs rising? Patrick M.
Callan, president of the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education,
states that there s not much going on in either private or public higher education that
is very serious about cost control, (Tuition Rising). He believes that Underlying all
this is that more kids are graduating from high school every year, most of them want
to go to college, and so it s a seller s market. Universities raise tuition because they
can, (Tuition Rising). This makes us wonder if universities are tricking us of our
money since they have not documented where tuition is going. In order to avoid
confusion from students and parents who want answers, the government should
require institutions to have documentation of what tuition is funding.
Financial aid is a popular choice for students to fund their college education, which
presently costs an average of $15,566 for an undergraduate student
Company Controls Required by Law
Controls Required By Law Regardless of the industry a business is in, there are
federal and state laws that govern how they operate and do business. Every
business is affected by different state and federal law somehow. The Sarbanes
Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) governs the disclosure of business that is publically traded
on a stock exchange. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of
1996 (HIPPA) dictates how business, including health insurance, health care clearing
houses, and health care providers, use patient identifying information. Sarbanes
Oxley Act of 2002 was enacted to protect investors by improving the accuracy and
reliability of corporate disclosures. (Public Law 107 204, 2002) This law affects any
publically traded company regardless of the industry of the business. Corporate
management is held responsible for the validity of the financial statements, internal
controls, and is required to submit Form 10 K to SEC every quarter. The Public
Company Accounting Oversight Board was created by this act and given the
authority to oversee how audits are performed. Audit firms are now required to
undergo inspections by the PCAOB. PCAOB mandates accounting and auditing
standards. Auditors are required to maintain independence and have a rotation
requirement of every five years. It is illegal for corporate management to improperly
influence the conduct of audits. The act also enhances corporate disclosure.
Corporate management has a requirement of forfeiting
How Young Goodman Brown Became Old Badman Brown
Essay
Nathaniel Hawthorne was a nineteenth century American writer of the Romantic
Movement. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1804, he was one of those rare writers
who drew critical acclaim during his lifetime. Hawthorne used Salem as a setting for
most of his stories, such as The Scarlet Letter, The Blithedale Romance, and Young
Goodman Brown. Today, readers still appreciate Hawthorne s work for its storytelling
qualities and for the moral and theological questions it raises. Nathaniel Hawthornes
work is typically fraught with symbolism, much of it deriving from his Puritan
ancestry; relatives of his were judges in the Salem witchcraft trials. Young Goodman
Brown is an allegory whose characters play a major role in conveying the... Show

Likewise, he will be left alone afterwards when he tries to retrieve it/her during his
journey. Author Terence Martin speculates that Goodman Brown s journey into the
forest is best defined as a kind of general, indeterminate allegory, representing man s
irrational drive to leave faith, home, and security temporarily behind, for whatever
reason, to take a chance with one more errand onto the wilder shores of experience
(Martin 92).
It should not escape attention that Goodman Brown s wife, a lighthearted naive
woman, has the name of Faith. Faith is by no means an unusual woman s name,
but it is significant in this story that she is presented to us first as a very young
bride with pink ribbons in her hair almost like a child (1264). This young woman is
filled with hidden sin, yet she is said to be Godly. Because Faith was so honest and
Godly, Young Goodman Brown put all of his faith in her, which made her the best
of his worst enemies. Faith s ribbon is a description of her personality or her inner
self. The pink ribbon that Faith wears is a symbol of purity. Faith s ribbon is found
in the evil forest when Brown awakes, and that s when Faith is really seen as an
unclear person. Faith is also said to have forsaken not only against Goodman
Brown but also against God because she gave in to the likes of the devil. The
ribbons provide continuity between faith as an ideal of a Puritan woman and as a
sinner. Her pink
Importance Of Sports In My Life
Sports have always been the go to activity in my life, whether it is playing,
watching, or reading. I participated in a few sports but will play any sport for fun. I
thrive to watch sports and keep up with the NFL, NBA, MLB, and all the college
sports. My family has enjoyed sports forever and the love has been handed down
from generation to generation. Issues in sports have always been around and will
continue to be around for ages. In my early elementary days, I played upwards of 5
sports. Flag and tackle football brought me joy because I could throw the ball to the
receivers or run downfield if they were not open. My high schooldid not offer soccer;
therefore, I did not continue to play during my elementary years because of baseball.

Now to professional teams, I have been a huge fan of the Denver Broncos since I
could talk. I love Sports Authority Field and the entire city of Denver. It brought me
joy when Peyton Manning joined them even though we all know the defense won
them Super Bowl 50. When it comes to NBA and MLB, I do not have necessary
favorite teams, but I have favorite players. In the NBA, I respect Lebron s game
and the athletic ability he has brought into the NBA. I enjoy watching all the NBA
games because of the crazy shots and adjustments they can make to get a bucket.
The MLB attracts my attention the least barely liking any of the teams/players, so
whenever I go to an MLB game I always cheer for the home team. Growing up in the
middle of Iowa, several of my friends like Iowa State. I try to be respectful to them
but I must put them in their place when they smack talk me. I have brainwashed
my parents and siblings to like the Broncos and Hawkeyes along with me. My
brothers in law are the toughest though because they are extremely big Cyclone
fans. Personal issues that I have had in sports include coaching. At my school, my
teammates dads were always the coach which makes it quite bias when they come
to setting lineup. They always want the best results for their kid whether the game
ends in a win or loss. The way I look at games is, I don t care what happens if we get
the win. An issue I realized this year for my High School
Squid Vs Octopus
The squid and the octopus are both very fascinating aquatic creatures. They both
travel the ocean floor by jet propulsion, belong to the same kingdom, phylum, class,
and subclass Animalia, Mollusca, Cephalopoda, and Coleoidea, respectively and
live in saltwater tropics to the temperate zones of the ocean. However, with these
and several other similarities, the squid and the octopus are extremely different, in
their physiology, lifestyles and personalities, and diets. The squid and octopus are
both cephalopods with eight arms, known as head footed animals. Although they
share several similarities at first glance, their physicalities are very different. Where
squids possess a pen (a stiff sort of backbone) with two fins on it, the
What Are The Stereotypes In The Silence Of The Lambs
Text Name: The silence of the lambs
Text Type: Extended Novel
Author: Thomas Harris
The novel The Silence Of The Lambs written by Thomas Harris is a thriller about
Clarice Starling, a trainee at the FBI, meeting Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter. Hannibal
the Cannibal Lecter is a psychopathic homicidal maniac who is enclosed at Baltimore
Detention Center. He retains all the intelligence preceding the case of Buffalo Bill,
who has carefully abducted the senator s daughter. I strongly recommend this film to
all senior college students around New Zealand, because of the sophistication and the
countless messages to all generations. One of the most outstanding themes to me, is
that sexism was rife in the 1980 s USA. This theme astounds e, I think ... Show more

This is shown in the film, when Hannibal says And you think that if you save poor
Catherine, you could make them stop, don t you?... , and all of the stereotyping that
occurs in this world. And how only those that think and act on those deeds and
stereotypes are those that can see far ahead of the rest. And Clarice starling is one of
those exceptionals, which in the future will uncover the mysteries, and silence the
lambs that are constantly, unstoppably, metaphorically screaming in her head. The
only way for Clarice to stop that screaming is to excel, and solve the mystery of
Buffalo Bill s true identity. Lecter made me feel intrigued by exploiting Clarice s
fears, and that it is upsetting, that Clarice has to prove herself to her dear father, just
for his enjoyment, and to fulfil his fantasies of exploitation, and cannibalism. This is
shown in the text, when Hannibal says After your father s murder, you were
orphaned, you were 10 years old, you went to live with you cousins on a... ranch in
Montana. And... . This shows lecter was getting inside her head to torture her, and

The California High Speed Rail Authority
Greenhouse Gas Reduction The California High Speed Rail Authority Claims
about the systems environmental benefits are greatly overstated. As per Due
Diligence Report, California HSR will cause very little reduction of the
greenhouse gas emissions (CO2). The California Air Resources Board forecasts
that the HSR would reduce CO2 emissions equal to only 1.5% of the current state
objective. On the other hand the California High Speed Rail Authority has made an
exaggerated claim of achieving almost 50% of the state objective. McKinsey report
indicated that the CO2 emission reductions in the United States can be achieved for
about $50 per ton. On comparison, the cost per ton of CO2 emission removal by
HSR is very high ranging between 39 and 201 times the IPCC ceiling of $50. So it
can be understood that the impact of High Speed Rail on CO2 would be
inconsequential and exorbitantly costly. Hence, the CO2 emission reduction due to
high speed rail cannot be legitimately included as an element of a rational strategy for
reducing GHG emissions. Considering the untenable traffic impact projections,
California High Speed Rail Authority s claims are considered specious. To attain more
liability to the claims of the authority, an independent assessment of HSR s CO2
impacts should be made, including both operations and construction. The critics state
that the California High Speed Rail Authority should stop making any statements
about CO2 or other air quality impacts until such an
The Best Vacation Spots
There are many places to go for a vacation. Usually the most popular choices are the
soft sandy beaches or the white snowy mountains. Both places offer a ton of
exciting activities to do through out the day and night. In a contrasting
perspective the beach offers a variety of amenities that the mountains do not and
vice versa. These get away spots are very different in many ways such as climate,
actives to do and location. The climate is a very important part of planning a trip. It
determines all sorts of things like the clothes you ll wear and the things you ll be
doing. In the mountains where the forestation is extremely vivacious, the air is
crisp, the altitude is very high, and the temperature is freezing cold. In response to
the drastic weather change, big thick insulated jackets, mittens, beanies, scarves,
and snow boots are necessary to keep warm. Also, Due to the severe weather, the
mountains tend to be very secluded, perfect for a romantic getaway. The beach
however, is surrounded by the endless ocean and the warm soft sand. The beach has
a low altitude, and has a very warm temperature with an occasional ocean breeze.
Due to the heat and water nearby, people usually wear bathing suits, sunglasses, and
flip flops. The different activities one could experience at either destination are very
different. At the mountains the snow gives an unlimited amount of fun snow sports
such as, snowboarding, skiing, toboggan riding, sledding and more. If sports aren t

A Study On The Origin Of The Kikuyu
Location:
While the Kikuyu can be found throughout Kenya, the heaviest concentration being in
Central Province, known as the traditional Kikuyu homeland. They traditionally
identify their land as bounded by these mountains or ranges: Mt. Kenya (which they
call Kirinyaga the shining mountain), Ol Donyo Sapuk, the Ngong Hills and the
Aberdare (Nyandarua) Range. Many Kikuyus also live in Uganda and Tanzania,
some having risen to national leadership.
History:
The Kikuyu traditionally believe that a man, Gikuyu, was the founder of the tribe. He
had a wife named Mumbi, who gave birth to nine (plus one) daughters. The daughters
married and had their own families, retaining a domineering role in Kikuyu society.
This has led to the current division of the Kikuyu into nine (plus one) family
groupings. According to legend, the men grew tired of their treatment by the women
and rebelled. This legend seems to represent a change in history from matriarchal to
patriarchal organization, which also occurred with other Bantu peoples.
Ancestors of the Kikuyu arrived in Kenya during the Bantu migrations of 1200 1600
AD. The Kikuyu developed from several continuous waves of migration and
remigration within the area. The Kikuyu as such actually came to be by around 1800,
and include some families from all the surrounding peoples.
One genetic line contributing to the Kikuyu is the Thagicu, thought to be the earliest
Bantu settlers in the area, perhaps around 1200 AD. The Kamba also
Barbara Jordan Rhetorical Devices
Rhetorical strategies are a great way for an author to get their tone and what they
want to share to their reader. In Barbara Jordan s Becoming Educated she uses
rhetorical strategies to do just that. Jordan uses repetition and diction to increase her
effectiveness of her message. She does so that the readercan also relate to what she is
going through. By using repletion and diction she weaves these rhetorical devices
throughout her experience to increase its effectiveness to convey her voice and her
personal sense of growth. Throughout Jordan s writing of her experience she uses
repetition to convey her sense of voice and her sense of growth at law school. In the
first paragraph she repeats the wordI over and over. This is when she is... Show more

Barbara uses diction as well in her story of law school. One such example is when
she says, And he would call on the ladies. We were just tolerated (Jordan Line 17).
When she says this she is talking about when her professor would come into class
and have them present their cases from the days before. She uses shorter sentences
so her readers slow down more than they normally would. This allows the reader to
really think about what she is saying. Barbara also uses the word tolerated. This is
an example of her diction of word choice. She uses very strong words that carry a
lot of meaning with them. This word choice sets her tone of voice for her story.
Diction also increases her sense of personal growth. This is because her choice of
words, especially in her final two paragraph when she says, Finally I felt like I was
really learning things, really going to school. I felt that I was finally getting
educated, whatever that was (Jordan line 34 35). Whereas in the beginning of her
story she is using words that give the sense of urgency. This is when she is talking
about how she has to read more than her class mates and how she has to study
longer. Barbara Jordan uses rhetorical devices very effectively in her story of law
school. In Barbara Jordan s story of her going to law school she uses the rhetorical
devices of repetition and diction to convey her sense of personal growth and
Compare And Contrast Ptolemaic And Greek Empires
Ancient Egypt, specifically the Ptolemaic empire, was a very interesting time
period with many different qualities than we re used to. It was a time with more
conflict and different rulers and groups coming into1. It was a time when rulers
were considered kings or queens because woman were also able to rule. This also
means that their governmental system was different from ours because they were
ruled under a monarch2. Instead of voting someone into power, their ruling system
was hereditary. This means that the first son or daughter of the previous ruler would
become the next ruler after their parent stepped down3. With a new empire came
new cultural changes too, like the creation of a new god. This was another difference

The different levels of this pyramid supported many different lifestyles. The king
or queen was at the top of the society, and he or she ruled everyone and everything.
Although they were in charge, they had to follow many rules too. Their days were
usually planned out for them. The rulers had to follow all of the laws when
making important decisions16. Alongside the ruler was a close group of some
friends, also known as philoi17. These friends had some influence on what the
ruler did. Priests typically held a pretty high status in society because they could
make the gods happy. After them on the administrative hierarchy came the Royal
Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs. Next was the Chief Secretary and then the
Drafter of Royal Edicts. After that were the higher military officials. People with
power who were closer to the common man s daily life were nomarchs. Nomes
were smaller areas within a satrap and they were the rulers of them. The nomarchs
jobs were to oversee agricultural production and manage the finances of the nome18.
Everyone mentioned so far lived a good life with generally a good amount of money.
Of course, the kings and queens had the most money and it went down from
Richard Rogers Research Paper
Richard Rogers was born June 28, 1902 in Long Island, New York. His father was
a successful physician and his mother was an amateur musician. In Roger s
childhood, he heard music most everyday and was regularly taken to the theatre.
When Roger s was six he could play the piano by ear. He enjoyed listening to small
operas, which are also known as operettas. Later, Rogers was inspired by Jerome
Kern s musicals.
Rogers attended secondary schools in New York. When he was fourteen he had
already written two popular songs. In 1919 he entered into Columbia University,
but before that he met Lorenz Hart who he spent the next 24 years of his career
with. Their first published song was Any Old Place with You. But, in 1943 Hart died
and was more successful than ever before working with Oscar Hammerstein II.
Rogers later died on December 30, 1979. Rogers died at the age of 77.
Oscar Hammerstein II was born July 12, ,1895 in New York, New York. Oscar s
family was a great theatrical family. His father was an opera promoter and his
uncle was a well known producer. Oscar could play the piano at the age of nine.

Prince Edward Islands’ history is a crucial aspect in...
Prince Edward Islands history is a crucial aspect in Canada s past. The work of
historians has helped to develop and in essence create its intricate and telling
historiography. PEI s early history is difficult to classify before its entrance into
Canada, due to its isolated geography and heavy British influence. The most notable
representations of PEI and the problem of absentee landlordism in the eighteenth
century is characterized by the works of some of the most notable academics in the

analysis of PEI is necessary, it allows for both islanders and non islanders to

by the editors, there is diversity among those who have and continue to study the
history of the Island. This understanding is once again evident within this

usual association with the popular imagination and illusions most mythos
Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature
The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and
women have designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical
appearance. In many cultures beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of
the expectations the media places on men and women to have a certain look. What
most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic pleasure of faces,
hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty
does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and
should rather focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a
definition of their beauty. There are many factors that contribute to what makes
something or in the case of this research, someone beautiful . The explanation for the
perceptionof beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a biological, a
psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans
believe to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological
evolutionary influences on human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted
evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular, facial beauty of a femaleor a maleis
important because the one weapon men and women have to fulfill the ultimate goal
of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be perceived as
beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013).
Outline Of A Study On A Research Study
E. Conclusion
The final chapter of this dissertation is to reflect on the theories applied in the study,
to give managerial insights, and to highlight the findings in answering the research
questions. The implications for further research are also emphasised.
5.1 Academic Implications
The present research both provides confirmation of and adds aspects to the
theoretical, methodological and empirical position. First, the findings contribute to
Baudrillard s symbolic consumption (1993, 1994, 1988), consumers want a symbolic
exchange value to represent themselves and reflect their social class. His sign system
is useful to describe how marketing elements attach symbolic meaning to brands.
Apart from social status, the results also identify ... Show more content on

Consequntly, further research can use these considerations as a foundation to
understand consumers purchasing behaviour and symbolic consumption.
Specifically, the study suggests that most respondents feel the need to develop their
self identities to be more mature. While, the netnographic findings also shows that
social values have a strong impact on the individual s consumption.
Fourth, although many recent studies have applied Aaker s brand personality scale
(BPS), the big five (2002), to measure brand personality, the study suggests that the
BPS may not be practical to apply to fashion brands since personalities can overlap.
For example, it is not as simple only putting women on a sophistication scale and
men on a ruggedness scale. The findings show that the individual s personality is

Discuss the main factors affecting product pricing in the UK
Two surveys on the price setting behaviour of UK firms published by the Bank of
England in 1996 and 2008 concluded that the price, the amount of money expected,
required or given for a certain level of output, was most often set as a result of
market conditions1. The same report however found that the second largest price
differential was the objective of the specific firm surveyed1, and thus product pricing
in the UK can be seen to be determined by the interaction between these objectives
and the market structures that bind how firms operate. In the UK these dominant
structures are monopolistic, oligopolistic and perfectly competitive, within which
there are differing degrees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this does explain only a change in price, not its actual determination, it is
effective in presenting why product pricing under oligopolistic market structure can
be seen to be relatively stable at point P.
That is not to say that firms will not sell their output at different prices in order to
increase market share. In the aforementioned oligopolistic market of tour operators,
3rd degree price discrimination can be practised by charging two sets of consumers
with differing price elasticities of demand for the same product (price elasticity of
demand for the time duration of a holiday becoming more inelastic at around 7 days)
contrasting prices, and thus firms can extract consumer surplus from buyers and
convert this into supernormal profit. This in turn can be used to defend market
position through the cross subsidisation of other markets in which it operates, thereby
artificially altering price and driving competitors out of the market. It must ensure
however, that the cost of separating the two markets is not greater than the profit
made, through the regulation of the resale of flight tickets, for example.
However, there is some debate as to whether Friedman s doctrine of the pursuit of
profit has any relevance to modern day corporations; a recent study by Shipley
In 2014 Alone, The World Consumed Almost 20 Million
Gigawatt
In 2014 alone, the world consumed almost 20 million Gigawatt hours of energy, a
large majority of which were produced by nonrenewable sources (Key). Going
forward, the world will need to move away from fossil fuels and embrace cleaner
sources of energy. It must be decided whether the world should run off of a nuclear
powered grid or purely off of renewable sources such as solar or wind. Countries
across the globe will need to make this decision as developed countries change to
more eco friendly energy sources while less developed nations seek to provide power
for their population.
The main points for both sides of the argument are about cost, energy output,
reliability, safety, and cleanliness. These are the most important traits for... Show

The proponents of nuclear energy favor the high energy output and low land usage
over the benefits of renewable energy. The World Nuclear Association, a nonprofit
organization made up of members from all parts of nuclear power generation, also
lists several other positives to nuclear energy such as the security of its supply, the
stable grid it supplies, and the low impact that fuel costs have on it. The secure
supply that is mentioned refers to how uranium can be purchased for a relatively
inexpensive cost, and how a year or two s supply of it can be stored easily for little
expenditure. Unlike renewables that have grid stability issues due to the
intermittence of their power generation, nuclear energy can provide a steady base
load for power grids to work off of (Renaissance). Nuclear energy can also help
stabilize the prices of electricity in deregulated markets as the fluctuating price of
fuel only makes up a small portion of the overall cost of constructing and operating
a plant, therefore high fuel prices do not make much of an impact on the cost of the
generated power. There is also the aforementioned benefit of little land being used to
generate power, as is reported by Prastuti Singh s work at Stanford University. The
land that nuclear energy can be used on is also much more flexible than that of
To What Extent Does Multi-Level Government Increase...
To what extent does multi level government increase democracy and bring
government closer to the people?
The United Kingdom consists of four countries; England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland. As the UK is a unitary state, the main power is centralised at
Westminster. However, since 1997, power has been devolved to five different areas;
the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Assembly, the Northern Ireland Assembly, the
Greater London Assembly and elected mayors in a number of cities, such as London.
There are also several levels of local government, such as county and district councils
and unitary authorities.
Devolution is the transfer of power from Westminster to regional bodies, such as the
Scottish Parliament and the Welsh... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This therefore brings power closer to the Scottish people, through the Scottish
Parliament, but in hand it takes power away from the English people. This may be
because there is no purely English devolved body in comparison to the Scottish
Parliament, Welsh Assembly and Northern Ireland Assembly. Power is also brought
closer to the people as devolved bodies can hold referendums; however, on the other
hand, they are limited on what they can hold referendums about.
On the other hand, devolution had failed to resolve the problem of voter apathy, for
example, barely 1 in 4 of the electorate voted in favour of the Welsh Assembly. The
use of PR in the devolved assemblies has weakened the link between elected
representatives and their constituents. The Conservatives argue that devolution has
undermined the unity of the UK, and some argue that the Barnett formula is too
generous towards the Scottish. Also, most importantly, it is argued that devolution
raised the problematic West Lothian question.
Devolution has not brought power closer to the people in that regional councils only
have limited power and are tokenistic . The Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly
are merely symbols of national identity, for example. Also, councils have fixed

The Visual And Performance Arts Of Europe
Welcome, to my traveler s guide to the performing and visual arts. In this guide, you
will explore first hand, the visual and performance arts of Europe.
First, we will look at performance arts of Europe which, date back to early 534 B.C.
when Thespis won the first public contest for tragic poets in Greece. The term
thespian derives from Thespis s name. In addition, Thespis also introduced
performance masks, which would soon become a staple of Greek and Roman Theater.
Let s fast forward quite a ways, to 1576, where the first commercial theater is opened
in London, England, becoming the first Elizabeth playhouse in the world. Many
performance pieces were performed here; including many plays from the famous

Visual art, has also been a prominent factor in European culture and society. Visual
art began in Europe during Prehistoric times, somewhere around 30 to 20000 BCE,
this art was located in a cave in Spain and is known as the El Castillo Cave Art ,
which is so far, the oldest known cave paintings in the world. Going further in time,
European artwork is emboldened by many great painters and architects such as
Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo; whom were famous for some of the greatest
canvas and architectural paintings known in the world today. Most of these paintings
from these artist, can be found in our next location, The Louvre, in Paris, France.
The Louvre, was built in 1190, as a fortress to the Empire of France. The LeMusee

reconstructed after it s time as a fortress, to serve as a royal palace. Its expansion
continued over the years, covering a total area of now 652, 300 square feet, much
more than its original square footage of less than 600,000. In 1793, after moving the
royal residence to Versailles by King Louis XIV; The Louvre, became an art museum,

External Forces In My Hero Academia, By Izuku Midoriya
There are moments in one s life that can be attributed to external factors or internal
factors, or a mixture of both. However, people have a tendency to reason either
external forces or internal forces more than the other for outcomes. Julian Rotter
called this dimension locus of control, the extent to which people will perceive
outcomes as internally controllable or externally controlled (Myers, 2013, p. 57). If
a person attributes outcomes to mostly his or her own control, he or she is said to
have an internal locus of control; if a person attributes outcomes to mostly external
forces, the person is said to have an external locus of control. In the anime, My Hero
Academia, the main character, Izuku Midoriya, displays primarily the external locus
of control. The main idea behind the anime is that Izuku is living in a world full of...

What Is The Most Common Cause Of Animal
Endangerment
Firstly, loss of habitat is one of the most common cause of animal endangerment.
Obviously, every organism need a place that is natural for their life and growth, called
habitat. This habitat consists of five elements: food, water, shelter, space and an
appropriate mixture of these elements. All animal speciesmust have adequate habitat
in order to survive. Destructive change to environments or landscapes, either through
natural phenomena (such as floods, volcanoes, hurricanes etc.), or human processes
(such as construction, deforestation, changing landuse for agriculture, artificial land
drainage etc.), is the single greatest impact on habitat of animals. When an animal
does not have a habitat, and cannot adapt to a different environment, as
Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus Essay
Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus was the son of a Roman aristocrat whose family
had regularly held the highest offices of state for the past century. Tiberius
achieved much in his life and was a man of high distinction in political circles. He
was a man with a prominent background coming from very powerful families. It
seemed also, that many had high expectations of him, and his potential was not
seen to its full extent. To a few of us here today, this is a solemn and most
momentous occasion. Today I will be critically analysing and assessing the
significance of three key areas which have been the crux of historical debate for
centuries. Today I will be touching on Tiberius family background, education, and

Plutarch outlines that Tiberius and his brother Gaius were ``the most gifted young
men of their generation in Rome, their education was generally held to have a played
a more important part than nature in forming their qualities. Plutarch further
emphasises the prominence of Tiberius by stating, Soon after reaching maturity, his
fame was great enough to earn him entry into the so called priesthood of augurs, an
honor he owed to his excellence, rather than to his noble birth. H.H.Scullard agrees
with Plutarchs writing and maintains, after becoming an augur an augur at the age of
ten, served with distinction under his brother in law Aemilianus at the siege of
Carthage (146) and married Claudia, daughter of the Princeps Senatus, Appius
Claudius Pulcher. Plutarch maintains soon after his marriage he saw active service in
Africa under the command of the younger Scipio. Plutarch adds, `` He also soon
showed himself to be the most disciplined and courageous young man of his
generation. According to Fannius, while he was with the army many of his comrades
came to feel affection for him, and when he left they missed him. After this campaign,
Gracchus was elected quaestor under the consul Gaius Hostilius Mancinus in 137, in
the war against Numantia. Plutarch, although he states that Mancinus was unlucky,
he gives us the picture that Mancinus was an unlucky commander, and in contrast,

The Human Genome Project Essay examples
The Human Genome Project (HGP), an international scientific research project, has
educated the public tremendously on various topics concerning DNA and genetics.
This study has been beneficial to communities alike. As stated, the HGP sought to
identify all the genes in human DNA, determine the sequences of the three billion
chemical base pairs that make up human DNA, store this information in databases,
improve tools for data analysis, transfer related technologies to the private sector, and
address the ethical, legal, and social issues that may arise from the project. In favor of
achieving these goals, scientists studied the genetic makeup of several nonhuman
organisms (Human GenomeManagement Information System, 2011).

Due to scientist s interest in human genetic variation, human racial classification
became a focus of scientific investigation by evolutionary biologists attempting to
categorize individual humans based on presumed patterns of biological difference.
Scientists had hoped to classify humans in the same way that they classified other
species. These scientists attached hierarchical titles to these categorizations; they
claimed that differences in skin color, physiognomy, and geography were associated
with scientifically measurable differences in character, aptitude, and temperament
(Smedley, 1998). However, studies supporting these claims have been unsound
(Gould, 1981). Categorization of humans by racial and ethnic groups continues, as
researchers must remain aware of this historical legacy of the science of heredity as
the genomic era continues to develop (Bonham et al., 2005).
Although the HGP has been informative to the public, especially when it comes to
racial variations in disorders and genetic reflected illnesses, there are ways it may be
used to harm rather than help human development. Due to the information obtained
through the research, the stigma related to illnesses or disorders may be closely
associated with certain ethnic or racial backgrounds. This can have negative effects
on ethnic groups, in that some people may already believe they are pre exposed to
an illness.
Love Of Money In The Great Gatsby
In the Great Gatsby, the main character Nicks moves to New York to learn about
the bond business. He moves to a rich district in the state, where people tend to
show off their wealth and social status. Nick s neighbor Gatsby does this especially,
because he throws major parties every Saturday to display his riches. The real
reason Gatsby does this is because he is attempting to gain the attention of Daisy
whom Gatsby is in lovewith. Daisy, who is married to Tom who is wealthy himself,
lives a comfortable life but in reality she is not happy. Gatsby, with the help of Nick,
tries to win Daisy with his money instead of his heart. Fitzgerald utilizes his
characters through the text the Great Gatsbyand using their perspective to
demonstrate how the love of money brings people to believe that they re happy. In
the Great Gatsby, we see characters such as Gatsby show off their riches to people,
but the reason Gatsby does this is that he is trying to get Daisy s attention. Gatsby
is doing this because the basis of why he could not marry Daisy was because he did
not have much money. While talking with Nick about his previous encounters
with Daisy, Gatsby states that the only reason he believes Daisy fell in love with
another man was because Gatsby was poor. This man which Daisy married is Tom
and from his perspective, we see how the love of money causes Daisy to make
herself believe she has fallen in love with him. He had deliberately given Daisy a
sense of security....that he

Responses To Voting
Voting is perhaps one of the easiest ways to participate in politics, yet it is the one
task Americans fail to do. After conducting this survey, I had quite a variety of
responses regarding voting participation, fortunately, the majority did exercise their
right to vote. While reviewing the responses I learned that many decided to vote
because they knew how important it was if they wanted to have a say in their
government. Which was something that I did not expect mainly because I usually
hear people complain about the government, yet they do not even attempt to get
involved with politics to try to change what they dislike. Another finding was that all
the survey participants were aware that votingwith a majority party was a safe bet if

The Negative Effects Of Technology On Education
In our world, technology has marked its own impact in our society. Since the birth of
the digital age, technology has only advanced and has lessened many difficulties
previously imposed on earlier centuries. Whether noticeable or not, technology is

technology have been implemented in. Technology has awarded consumers the
opportunity to purchase items from any location, allows for the exchange of

agricultural field. However, the use of technology has been misunderstood in its
relationship with education. Opponents of technology in terms education can state
that it is the primary cause that literacyrates have decreased in recent years, since
technology can distract from literacy development or academic engagement. The
question arises is technology detrimental to literacy development and engagement or
is it beneficial. Should technology and the digital age be reevaluated in its
effectiveness in literacy development and academic engagement? Absolutely,
technology should be reevaluated in effectiveness in literacy development due to the
fact it provides more opportunities then barriers. When evaluating ideas, we should
look at the pros and the cons; and if the pros outweighs the cons the ideas should be
accepted as the influential. Technology has made literacy development more
adaptable, led to the development of new literacy skills such as critical thinking and
research skills, while providing personal instruction. A benefit of technology in
literacy development is that it can reach students with learning disabilities or
challenges than traditional texts. Students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia,
or ADHD are not able to sit down over a long period of time and read a traditional
text due to challenges imposed. To properly gain an understanding of a text time
must be spent with the existing knowledge of some words. Students or persons in
general with dyslexia are unable to understand words we common take for granted
students with ADHD are unable to stay focus over a long
Doraemon Essay
Doraemon
Doraemon, a manga serialized on magazines, is written by Fujiko Fujio, a team of
two Japanese mangaka (maga artists) since 1969. They are Hiroshi Fujimoto and
Motoo Abiko. However, they ended their partnership since 1987. Mr. Fujimoto
continued to write Doraemon and used the pen name, Fujiko F. Fujio. He died in
1996 and Doraemon is left unfinished. The manga was made into animes and movies
and becomes one of the most marketed cartoon in Japan. It has been sold for more
than 1 million copies. There is a museum for Fujiko F. Fujio in Kawasaki.
Doraemon is a cat shaped robot who come from 22nd century (future). He was sent
back to help Nobi Nobita by Nobita s future descendents because Nobita is a loser.
He fails on every scope including academic and sport. Doraemon has a ... Show more

For instance, there is Time Machine for traveling back to the past. Everyone who
have ever read Doraemon must want to own his devices. Lots of voting were held
in Asian to see which device is the most popular one. The Anywhere Door has
always top the list. However, unlike Harry Potter, the devices are technological
products and have the probability to be invented in the future. This makes the devices
more attractive. With those devices, life will be more lighten and joyful.
Friendship
Nobita always creates trouble to Doraemon. He is very dependent on Doraemon
and sometimes neglects Doraemon s feeling. However, Doraemon still stays with
him and keeps helping him. Nobita also will be worried about Doraemon s sickness.
They share the moment of happiness and sadness. Readers love their friendship and
even create an optimistic ending for them (As mentioned before, the manga is left
unfinished). The ending is that Doraemon s power runs out. Nobita starts to work
hard and become a robotics technician. Finally, he retrieves Doraemon s life. Their
friendship is so touching.
Silence In Krapp s Last Tape
Silence as a Character in Krapp s Last Tape Krapp, a cantankerous old man
attempting to relive his best years by listening to a tape he recorded on his thirty
ninth birthday in Beckett s Krapp s Last Tape , constantly pauses and allows silence
to overwhelm him and his thoughts. By allowing the invasion of silence into the play,
the spotlight is taken off of Krapp in a one man play supposedly about Krapp, as he
cannot maintain controlat the most basic level. The play begins and concludes with
silence, and therefore silence is the first characterthe audience meets in the play,
demonstrating its importance in controlling Krapp and his actions through the story.
Throughout the play, silence constantly appears, whether in namesake or in the form
of relentless pauses in Krapp s speech, and dominates Krapp and his language. Krapp,
in constantly submitting to the ever present enemy of silence, demonstrates that he
has no control over the story that is supposed to center around himself, and that
silence is the character to overwhelm Krapp because it represents his fundamental
flaw, his loneliness. The play opens on stage directions describing Krapp s den, and
does not introduce the only material character in the story until four lines in (247).
When Krapp, the main character, is introduced and described as an unkempt man, it
is revealed immediately that he cannot take care of himself. Although the play is
focused around and named after Krapp, he cannot hold attention upon

Treatment of Madness in The Bell Jar and The Yellow Wallpaper
Mental illness and madness is a theme often explored in literature and the range of
texts exploring these is tremendously varied. Various factors can threaten a character
s sanity, ranging from traumatic events which trigger a decline to pressure from more
vast, impersonal sources. Generally speaking, writers have tried to show that most
threats to sanity comprise a combination of long term and short term factors the
burning of the library in Mervyn Peake s novel Titus Groan precipitated Lord
Sepulchrave s descent into madness, but a longer term problem can be discerned in
the weight of tradition which caused him to worry that with him the line of Groan

Esther Greenwood s initial response is to withdraw she tries to protect herself by
severing her emotional connection both to the outside world and also,
increasingly, herself. In various places Plath is describing scenes which would
normally be repulsive and gruesome the language used, however, is clinical and
cold and gives the reader the impression that the narrator is failing to respond
emotionally to what she is observing. In describing medical specimens of preserved
foetuses Greenwood says that The baby in the first bottle had a large white head
bent over a tiny curled up body the size of a frog. There is no comment made on
this or similar descriptions that follow until the next paragraph when she confides
that I was quite proud of the calm way I stared at all these gruesome things . This
response is almost childish and flippant in tone and does not rest easy with the
horrible sites that she was seeing (and Plath implicitly admits this with the worlds
gruesome things ) nevertheless the tone of the comment emphasises the block that
she is placing between herself and disturbing scenes. The very structure of the
writing emphasises this the position of the comment at the start of the next
paragraph creates a break in the flow of the writing and emphasises Plath s
disjointed emotional state. Other episodes reiterate this. When Greenwood first sees
Buddy Willard naked we would expect her to have either a passionate response
Examples Of Racism In The United States
Many people in the United States judge people based on their race or how they are

racist all of a sudden. If they cant pick on one race they try to pick on whichever
they like or want and most people that do things like this are american.
Some go with Donald Trump and don t like mexicans and other races they base
most of their beliefs on stereotypes. Which is on what they hear from by other people

Recent Issue In Our Environment Essay
Kyler Walterson ARCH 231 December 9, 2017 Recent Issue in Our Environment
A news report that was released by NPS shows that almost 9 million people visited
Utah s Nation Parks in 2013, (standard net.) making Utah almost $597 million and
supported over 9,000 jobs across the state of Utah (NPS). Locally the people of
Utah are outraged, thousands of locals across Utah made the drive to the Salt Lake
City Capitol Building to protest Trumps actions. I had the opportunity to interview a
few adults currently living in Utah and all showed complete outrage towards our
president. Only one of the five people interviewed showed commitment towards the
new movement. Which really opened my eyes to the fact that there is large economic

Although other presidents have reduced National Parks, Trump s reduction plan
exceeds the federal allowance and may cross the line of what is legal and what is
not. Not only do the Navajo Nation find this land sacred, four other local Utah tribes
find this a direct violation and state that, Trump is eliminating our sacred land . (The
Hill) For years the tribes of Utah had pushed for the federal government to help
protect the sacred land, joined and back by environmental activist Patagonia. Navajo
Nation continues to state how Utah s congress failed to protect it, so they went to
Mr. Obama who created the national monument, very strong support from the
republican party from local Utah leaders. Patagonia s involvement in this issue shows
the most commitment so far, but this isn t the first time the famous outdoor brand
threw shots at President Trump, which included recent criticism for him for leaving
the Paris climate change agreement. The brand has a history of environmental
activism. Patagonia donates 1% of all its annual sales, (gq.com) numbers that
approached $10 million in 2017, (gq.com) and they continue to launch new projects
to encourage recycling and reusing clothing. But what they are doing now is
completely unheard of, Hans Cole, who is the director of environmental activism for
Patagonia states that, We feel that we have to pull out all of the stories at this point.

Essays Term Papers

  • 1. Essays Term Papers Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays Term Papers" can be a challenging endeavor. While it may seem ironic to delve into the complexities of composing an essay about essays and term papers, it actually poses unique difficulties. The challenge lies in the need to maintain a balance between providing insightful information about the characteristics and importance of essays and term papers, while also ensuring that the essay itself adheres to the standards it advocates. One obstacle is the risk of sounding repetitive or self-referential. It's crucial to present a comprehensive overview of the subject matter without becoming overly redundant or circular in one's arguments. Additionally, there is a constant tension between discussing the general principles of essay and term paper writing and offering practical tips that can truly assist the reader in improving their own writing skills. Furthermore, the essay must navigate the fine line between being informative and engaging. It's not just about relaying information but also about capturing the reader's interest and keeping them invested in the discourse. Striking this balance is often easier said than done, as it requires a nuanced understanding of the audience's expectations and a skillful integration of both theoretical and practical insights. The inherent challenge in crafting an essay on this topic lies in the potential for the content to become too meta or abstract. The danger is that the essay might lose its clarity and fail to deliver concrete takeaways for the reader. Hence, the writer must constantly be mindful of their objectives and strive to provide valuable, actionable information that goes beyond mere theoretical discourse. In conclusion, writing an essay on "Essays Term Papers" necessitates navigating a delicate path, balancing theoretical discussions with practical advice and avoiding the pitfalls of becoming too self-referential. It's an intricate process that demands careful consideration of the audience's expectations and a commitment to delivering meaningful insights. For those who find themselves grappling with such challenges or are pressed for time, it's worth noting that similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. Business Communication Is The Art Of Communicating Business communication is the art of communicating in a professional environment. It is both an art and science and the life s blood of any successful corporation. The premise of business communication is that the writer is always speaking with the audience in mind. She has to make the content relevant and usable to the reader or it is not effective. Unlike other forms of writing, such as academic writing which has a captive audience, business writing is always a negotiation with a fluid audience that has the ability to come or go as they please. It is this dynamic fluidity that draws the Millennial Generation to the field of business communication in droves. The Millennial Generation is defined as those born in the early 1981 to 1996 (Millennials in Adulthood). The digitized world of the Millennials has also transformed the field of business communication. The Millennials have influenced workplace communication by creating continuously connected work teams, collaboration without boarders, and greater diversity in employee engagement. The intertwining of social media, Millennials, and workplace communication has made the workplace a more flexible and productive environment. The previous generation could only transform what they could touch; therefore they were limited in their connectivity and productivity. These generations known as the baby boomers and the silent generation, were limited to their one departmental idea. In the spirit of the Ford assembly
  • 3. Physical And Treatment Of Physical Therapy Physical Therapy is one of the most important medical health related fields out there. Physical Therapists play a crucial role in their patient s overall health. However, the main goals of a Physical Therapist is to aid in recovery, rehab, increase range of motion, and reduce pain for their patients. During a normal work day, they will typically see a variety of patients whose age can range from an eight year old to an 85 year old, and each one with a challenging and unique health issue. These issues can be anything from a post surgical athlete trying to get back on the playing field to a 65 year old grandma who has hip and knee problems and needs exercises to strengthen those areas. In order for their patients to strengthen or rehabilitate a certain area, a treatment plan needs to be developed. Here, PT s select exercises, stretches, and other techniques which they think will help their patient s recovery process and get them back to normal. Therefore, treatment plans are one of the most important aspects of the job description. Although these Physical Therapists are medical professionals, they cannot include everything in their treatment plans. For example, they cannot perform surgery or give prescription medications because they are not technically specialized or fully qualified to do so. • 4. Insenstivity Of Humanness In The Stranger By Albert Camus In society, behaving in a way that distances oneself from others is viewed as unacceptable: be it mentally or physically. In the novel, The Stranger, by Albert Camus, the main character, Meursault, does just that. Throughout the novel, Meursault creates a problem for himself by emphasizing his individual existence rather than acknowledging others. The text suggests that the solution to the presented problem for Meursault is to recognize the subjectivity of others around him: such as his mother and friends. Meursault primarily shows his insensitivity toward others at his mother s funeral. At the funeral, Meursault does not cry or show any signs of mourning the death of his mother. He is very passive, and he even disregards the feelings of others present. The text states, The woman kept on crying. It surprised me, because I didn t know who she was. I wished I didn t have to listen to her anymore (10). This quote demonstrates Meursault s passivity about the feelings of others. He puts off the feelings of the woman due to the fact that he has never seen her and he wants her to essentially shut up. This insensitivity towards others and his own mother s death is eventually used against him when he is being tried for murder. The fact that Meursault did not cry during the funeral and that he admittedly smoked in front of his mother s casket while keeping vigil leads the prosecutor to question Meursault s place in society. As Meursault sits in the courtroom, in his mind he

Oxytoological Perceptions Of Emotions Biologically, and as detected in fMRI scans, dogs have detected voice regions in their brains just like people and they are sensitive to acoustic cues of emotions meaning that dog s brains detect different tones of voice depending on one s emotions (Andics, Gacsi, Frajo, Kis, Mikiosi, 2014). Oxytocin is known as the love hormone due to its increases after touch and stimulation. Zak (2014) measured oxytocin levels of dogs through their saliva. He collected samples of the dogs saliva before and after an interaction with their owners and found that the dogs oxytocin level rose by 57.2%. It was found that the dogs were capable of distinguishing between happy and fearful emotions however they struggled to determine the difference between fearful and neutral behaviors. The dogs did not respond as effectively to the strangers in comparison to their owners (Merola, et al., 2014). In this study it is evident that the dogs are able to comprehend some emotions such as happiness and fear which are two opposite extremes of emotions; they did, however struggle to understand more closely related emotions such as neutrality and fear. When shown photos of human faces exhibiting different emotions, dogs are also able to recognize the differences between photos. Rather than just studying dogs displaying learned behaviors, psychologists studied abstract representations of positive and negative emotion states in dogs. Seventeen dogs were shown pairs of pictures of either a happy or angry person and were also played either playful or aggressive

The Higher Price of Higher Education The High Price of Higher Education In America s society today, students are expected to follow the path of day care, grade school, middle school, high school and hopefully college. Growing up in America today, the importance of education is stressed starting at the earliest stages of development. In a world with a competitive job market and with citizens who want to make the most money that they can, a college education is key in success. For some students, financing college is not a problem. It is only stated that it goes toward administrative costs, faculty salaries, technology, Federal regulation, endowment, State appropriations, (Tuition Rising). But why are the costs rising? Patrick M. Callan, president of the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education, states that there s not much going on in either private or public higher education that is very serious about cost control, (Tuition Rising). He believes that Underlying all this is that more kids are graduating from high school every year, most of them want to go to college, and so it s a seller s market. Universities raise tuition because they can, (Tuition Rising). This makes us wonder if universities are tricking us of our money since they have not documented where tuition is going. In order to avoid confusion from students and parents who want answers, the government should require institutions to have documentation of what tuition is funding. Financial aid is a popular choice for students to fund their college education, which presently costs an average of $15,566 for an undergraduate student

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) dictates how business, including health insurance, health care clearing houses, and health care providers, use patient identifying information. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1804, he was one of those rare writers who drew critical acclaim during his lifetime. Hawthorne used Salem as a setting for most of his stories, such as The Scarlet Letter, The Blithedale Romance, and Young Goodman Brown. Today, readers still appreciate Hawthorne s work for its storytelling qualities and for the moral and theological questions it raises. Author Terence Martin speculates that Goodman Brown s journey into the forest is best defined as a kind of general, indeterminate allegory, representing man s irrational drive to leave faith, home, and security temporarily behind, for whatever reason, to take a chance with one more errand onto the wilder shores of experience (Martin 92). It should not escape attention that Goodman Brown s wife, a lighthearted naive woman, has the name of Faith. Faith is by no means an unusual woman s name, but it is significant in this story that she is presented to us first as a very young bride with pink ribbons in her hair almost like a child (1264). This young woman is filled with hidden sin, yet she is said to be Godly. Because Faith was so honest and Godly, Young Goodman Brown put all of his faith in her, which made her the best of his worst enemies. Faith s ribbon is a description of her personality or her inner self. The pink ribbon that Faith wears is a symbol of purity. Faith s ribbon is found in the evil forest when Brown awakes, and that s when Faith is really seen as an unclear person. Faith is also said to have forsaken not only against Goodman Brown but also against God because she gave in to the likes of the devil. The ribbons provide continuity between faith as an ideal of a Puritan woman and as a sinner. Her pink

As per Due Diligence Report, California HSR will cause very little reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions (CO2). The California Air Resources Board forecasts that the HSR would reduce CO2 emissions equal to only 1.5% of the current state objective. On the other hand the California High Speed Rail Authority has made an exaggerated claim of achieving almost 50% of the state objective. McKinsey report indicated that the CO2 emission reductions in the United States can be achieved for about $50 per ton. On comparison, the cost per ton of CO2 emission removal by HSR is very high ranging between 39 and 201 times the IPCC ceiling of $50. So it can be understood that the impact of High Speed Rail on CO2 would be inconsequential and exorbitantly costly. Hence, the CO2 emission reduction due to high speed rail cannot be legitimately included as an element of a rational strategy for reducing GHG emissions. Considering the untenable traffic impact projections, California High Speed Rail Authority s claims are considered specious. To attain more liability to the claims of the authority, an independent assessment of HSR s CO2 impacts should be made, including both operations and construction. The critics state that the California High Speed Rail Authority should stop making any statements about CO2 or other air quality impacts until such an

This has led to the current division of the Kikuyu into nine (plus one) family groupings. According to legend, the men grew tired of their treatment by the women and rebelled. For centuries men and women have designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical appearance. In many cultures beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of the expectations the media places on men and women to have a certain look. What most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic pleasure of faces, hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and should rather focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a definition of their beauty. There are many factors that contribute to what makes something or in the case of this research, someone beautiful . The explanation for the perceptionof beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a biological, a psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans believe to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological evolutionary influences on human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular, facial beauty of a femaleor a maleis important because the one weapon men and women have to fulfill the ultimate goal of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be perceived as beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013).

Specifically, the study suggests that most respondents feel the need to develop their self identities to be more mature. While, the netnographic findings also shows that social values have a strong impact on the individual s consumption. Fourth, although many recent studies have applied Aaker s brand personality scale (BPS), the big five (2002), to measure brand personality, the study suggests that the BPS may not be practical to apply to fashion brands since personalities can overlap. For example, it is not as simple only putting women on a sophistication scale and men on a ruggedness scale. The findings show that the individual s personality is important, not only gender. A male respondent like Jo is more fascinated by fashion brands than a female respondent like Pin. Fifth, the research confirms the findings of Holbrook Schindler (1989), Leslie, Sparling Owen (2001) and Grant Waite (2003), families and friends are strong factors which influence the consumption patterns of young adults. Interestingly the results from both interviews and Netnography indicate that primary groups like family and close friends are dominant influences. Moreover, celebrity endorsements on social media have become popular among young Thai adults

The same report however found that the second largest price differential was the objective of the specific firm surveyed1, and thus product pricing in the UK can be seen to be determined by the interaction between these objectives and the market structures that bind how firms operate. While this does explain only a change in price, not its actual determination, it is effective in presenting why product pricing under oligopolistic market structure can be seen to be relatively stable at point P. That is not to say that firms will not sell their output at different prices in order to increase market share. In the aforementioned oligopolistic market of tour operators, 3rd degree price discrimination can be practised by charging two sets of consumers with differing price elasticities of demand for the same product (price elasticity of demand for the time duration of a holiday becoming more inelastic at around 7 days) contrasting prices, and thus firms can extract consumer surplus from buyers and convert this into supernormal profit. This in turn can be used to defend market position through the cross subsidisation of other markets in which it operates, thereby artificially altering price and driving competitors out of the market. It must ensure however, that the cost of separating the two markets is not greater than the profit made, through the regulation of the resale of flight tickets, for example. However, there is some debate as to whether Friedman s doctrine of the pursuit of profit has any relevance to modern day corporations; a recent study by Shipley

The World Nuclear Association, a nonprofit organization made up of members from all parts of nuclear power generation, also lists several other positives to nuclear energy such as the security of its supply, the stable grid it supplies, and the low impact that fuel costs have on it. The secure supply that is mentioned refers to how uranium can be purchased for a relatively inexpensive cost, and how a year or two s supply of it can be stored easily for little expenditure. Unlike renewables that have grid stability issues due to the intermittence of their power generation, nuclear energy can provide a steady base load for power grids to work off of (Renaissance). Nuclear energy can also help stabilize the prices of electricity in deregulated markets as the fluctuating price of fuel only makes up a small portion of the overall cost of constructing and operating a plant, therefore high fuel prices do not make much of an impact on the cost of the generated power. This therefore brings power closer to the Scottish people, through the Scottish Parliament, but in hand it takes power away from the English people. This may be because there is no purely English devolved body in comparison to the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly and Northern Ireland Assembly. On the other hand, devolution had failed to resolve the problem of voter apathy, for example, barely 1 in 4 of the electorate voted in favour of the Welsh Assembly. The use of PR in the devolved assemblies has weakened the link between elected representatives and their constituents. The Conservatives argue that devolution has undermined the unity of the UK, and some argue that the Barnett formula is too generous towards the Scottish. Julian Rotter called this dimension locus of control, the extent to which people will perceive outcomes as internally controllable or externally controlled (Myers, 2013, p. 57). If a person attributes outcomes to mostly his or her own control, he or she is said to have an internal locus of control; if a person attributes outcomes to mostly external forces, the person is said to have an external locus of control. This study has been beneficial to communities alike. As stated, the HGP sought to identify all the genes in human DNA, determine the sequences of the three billion chemical base pairs that make up human DNA, store this information in databases, improve tools for data analysis, transfer related technologies to the private sector, and address the ethical, legal, and social issues that may arise from the project. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to scientist s interest in human genetic variation, human racial classification became a focus of scientific investigation by evolutionary biologists attempting to categorize individual humans based on presumed patterns of biological difference. Scientists had hoped to classify humans in the same way that they classified other species. These scientists attached hierarchical titles to these categorizations; they claimed that differences in skin color, physiognomy, and geography were associated with scientifically measurable differences in character, aptitude, and temperament (Smedley, 1998). However, studies supporting these claims have been unsound (Gould, 1981). Categorization of humans by racial and ethnic groups continues, as researchers must remain aware of this historical legacy of the science of heredity as the genomic era continues to develop (Bonham et al., 2005). Although the HGP has been informative to the public, especially when it comes to racial variations in disorders and genetic reflected illnesses, there are ways it may be used to harm rather than help human development. Due to the information obtained through the research, the stigma related to illnesses or disorders may be closely associated with certain ethnic or racial backgrounds. This can have negative effects on ethnic groups, in that some people may already believe they are pre exposed to an illness.

Since the birth of the digital age, technology has only advanced and has lessened many difficulties previously imposed on earlier centuries. Whether noticeable or not, technology is connected to every single action and transaction in our world today. Mechanics, purchasing, communications, agriculture, and education are few fields where technology have been implemented in. Technology has awarded consumers the opportunity to purchase items from any location, allows for the exchange of information through individuals, and led to productivity and accuracy in the agricultural field. However, the use of technology has been misunderstood in its relationship with education. Opponents of technology in terms education can state that it is the primary cause that literacyrates have decreased in recent years, since technology can distract from literacy development or academic engagement. The question arises is technology detrimental to literacy development and engagement or is it beneficial. Should technology and the digital age be reevaluated in its effectiveness in literacy development and academic engagement? Absolutely, technology should be reevaluated in effectiveness in literacy development due to the fact it provides more opportunities then barriers. When evaluating ideas, we should look at the pros and the cons; and if the pros outweighs the cons the ideas should be accepted as the influential. Technology has made literacy development more adaptable, led to the development of new literacy skills such as critical thinking and research skills, while providing personal instruction. A benefit of technology in literacy development is that it can reach students with learning disabilities or challenges than traditional texts. Students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, or ADHD are not able to sit down over a long period of time and read a traditional text due to challenges imposed. To properly gain an understanding of a text time must be spent with the existing knowledge of some words.
