Experimental Procedure:
During this experiment, sugar sources were varied and respiration rate evaluated.
To begin, a water bath was set at 30 degrees Celsius. This creates an optimum
temperature for the enzymes in yeast to breakdown sugar and give off COв‚‚.
Each sugar source, glucose, sucrose, lactose and glycerol were all added to its own
unique yeast sample, one at a time. Each sugar source that was added to the yeast
solution was immediately incubated for 10 min, then was transferred to a

Century and Our Love Now by Martyn Lowery, written in the 19th century. Attitudes
to love have changed a lot since the 17th Century. When To His Coy Mistress was
written, men were in charge of the relationship. It would take a lot longer for this
relationship to progress than it would today. The man would court the woman for
months before anything progressed. He would write her letters and poems, and then

Richard Nixon Early Life
Richard Nixon grew up in Southern California. His family was very poor had a
very difficult childhood life that included two of his brothers dying from illness.
Richard was very smart and really wanted to go to college. He paid his way into
Whittier College working nights at his father s store. He enjoyed debate, sports, and
drama whilehe was in college. He also earned a full scholarship to attend Duke
University Law School in North Carolina. After graduating from Duke, Richard Nixon
moved back to grocer and began practicing law. When World War II broke out he
joined the navy and served in the Pacific theatre of the war when he rose to the rank
of Lieutenant Commander before leaving the Navy in 1946 .

His public funeral followed five days later at the Richard Nixon Presidential
Library and Museum in his hometown of Yorba Linda, California. In keeping with
his personal wishes, Nixon s funeral was not a full state funeral, though his body did
lie in repose in the Nixon Library lobby prior to the funeral services. Nixon suffered a
cerebral vascular accident (a stroke) on April 18 at his home in Park Ridge, New
Jersey, and was taken to New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center. After an initial
favorable prognosis, Nixon slipped into a deep coma and died four days later. His

the presidential plane used as Air Force One while Nixon was in office. His body

The Volkswagen logo is a household image that is known on an international level.
In over seventy years, the logo has not changed a great deal and has stood the test
of time. What most people do not know how ever is it s lush history dating back to
Hitler s reign to current day with law suits debating the original creator of the logo. In
short, the Volkswagenlogo is memorable, scalable, and effective without color. In
addition to discussing the evolution of its design, what makes a good logo, and my
opinions on it, I will also discuss the historical background of the logo and the

A successful logo should work both with and without color. This is important
because a lot of the time, the logo will be used across all mediums. For example, it
could be carved in wood or made with metal. Scalability is another great attribute in
a successful logo. Whether the logo is on a tag under an inch in size, or on a
billboard, it should be legible. Lastly, the logo should obviously be relevant to the
industry the company is involved in. This might seem like common sense to most,
but a lot of ineffective logos out there really don t fit the current trend or design
sense for said industry. With that being said, all these points are just my personal
opinion and will come up later when I start discussing the evolution if the Volkswagen
logo.
The First Design
The very first Volkswagen logo was developed in 1938 and was actually the result
of an office competition. Franz Xavier Reimspiess, an employee of Porsche,
created the first logo during the logo design competition within the company. He
was given a one time payment of 100 Reichsmarks (about $400). Reimspiess was
also the engineer who perfected the actual engine for the first Beetle s in the 1930
s. The initial design done by Reimspiess and the current 3D design they use today
really is not that different for having so much time go by. The initial logo indeed
contain the V sitting on top of the W in a bold sans serif font that is still used today.

division one programs are reeling in millions of dollars from the performance of

receiving compensation from their universities, student athletes deserve to be paid
because of the time devoted to being an athlete, the business behind the NCAA, and

The time commitment leaves little time for an athlete to maintain a job for the
obvious reason being the student athlete already has two being a student and an
athlete. The NCAA has control over athletes in how they define amateurism. The
NCAA defines amateurism as someone participating in, competitive physical sports
only for the pleasure and the physical, mental, moral, and social benefits derived
directly thereof (Freedman 2003). The loose definition results in the NCAA gaining
all the profitability from the athlete simply playing for personal gain. Furthermore,
college athletes are exploited by the NCAA in order to increase revenue streams.
NCAA football hype videos will obviously feature some of the top players for the
sole reason to gain viewership. In ESPN film Fab Five, Chris Webber, a member
of Michigan Basketball s famous team, was described as struggling with money to
pay for his next meal despite the fact his Michigan jersey was for sale all over
Michigan. The struggling athlete continues to miss out on the big time profits.
Lastly, NCAA coaches are making big dollars off the play of their players. The
coach s job is to produce talent and when the talent performs then he receives more
money. However, the talent itself will never realize the revenue of the coach. Many

There are many steps that need to be completed before a verdict and judgment can be

and through the years it has been changing with America. It was an important
