Taking a Look at Prohibition
In December of 1917, Congress tested the 18th Amendment by sending it to all of
the states. A year after the ratification, in January 1919, the sale, making and
transportation of alcohol was banned. In 1919 the Volstead Act made all drinks
containing more than 0.5 percent alcohol illegal once the 18th amendment went
into use in 1920. Prohibition in America between 1920 and 1933 was made a law
to reduce crime and corruption, solve social issues, and improve the health of
Americans. The effects of prohibition on Americans depended on the reduced
amount of alcohol being drunk. For a while consumption levels of alcohol
decreased but then soon increased after the long absence of alcohol. People that
were not interested in alcohol before prohibition started to think of alcohol as a
glamorous and fun lifestyle. The amount of crime began to increase and became
organized in the form of gangs. Due to the amount of crime, prisons became
overcrowded. Many officers of the court and the public became corrupt. Since there
was no tax for alcohol now, the government had a lot more money to spend on
whatever they wanted. With the absence of alcohol, many previous drinkers turned to
drugs such as marijuana and even more dangerous drugs such as cocaine, opium,
heroin and many other prescription drugs. The amount of money spent on alcohol
had slowly begun to drop before the banishment of alcohol and began to slowly rise

Role Of Changez In The Reluctant Fundamentalist
Throughout The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Changez is the character we learn the
most about. We learn about him going to Princeton University, about working at
Samson and Underwood, about his politeness and manners, about Erica, about his
personality, about his political opinions and about his time America in general.
Even if everything Changez say about his time in America is true, we really don t
know him. There are several years in which we know almost nothing about
Changez s actions, only that he is a protester and he became a University lecturer.
This ambiguous or Changez is only perpetuated even more by the ending in which

The use of micro transactions in free to play and paid games are the norm nowadays.
The different types of micro transactions in games can range from simple color
changes, buffs, buying items, and account transfers. The concept behind micro
transactions is to let the consumer choose what they want, and it lets the developer
earn extra money on the side. The problem with using micro transaction in games is
that the developers will stop making good games, and instead make games revolve
around the necessity of using micro transactions (Rybicki, 2006).

The amount of money a free to play game earns will shock most people. According
to SuperData, a marketing intelligence firm, Riot Games in 2013 earned $624
million from League of Legends (Jarvey, 2014). League of Legends is a free to play
game that has micro transaction. The appeal of generating money through micro
transactions in gaming are stronger than ever with profits reported by the likes of

Being a Romantic hero means possessing certain qualities that regular people lack
such as doing thing ordinary people can t do or doing something that will benefit the
mankind. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark is a 1981 American action adventure
film directed by Steven Spielberg. This movie shows a hero, Indiana Jones, going
through a lot and becoming a romantic hero by doing the impossible.Steven
Spielberg does a great job of showing the qualities of a romantic hero within
Indiana Jones with great usage of cinematic techniques and music, bringing out the
hero in Indiana Jones. In the movie Indiana Jones the Raider of the Lost Ark Jones
shows many characteristics. One of them was being able to do things ordinary
men can t do. In the scene where Indiana Jones had found where the Ark of the

A significant piece of several psychological theories in the late nineteenth century was
introspection, which is the examination or observation of one s own mental and
emotional processes (Press, 2013). In retort to this theory behaviorism came about.
Behaviorism is predominantly concerned with observable and measurable aspects of
human behavior. In other words behaviorismdoes not look at the biological aspects but
it suggests that all behaviors are learned habits and changes in response to the
environment. It endeavors to explain how these particular habits are formed.
Behaviorism claimed that the causes of behavior was not necessarily found in the
complexities of the mind but could be observed in one s immediate environment,
from stimuli that produced, reinforced, and punished certain responses also known

to discover the actual systems to learning, thereby laying a foundation for

Certainly, we know that not all natural things are good, but we also know that not
all unnatural things are good either. Is genetic modification as good as something
like medicine, or is a vile abomination to manufacture ourselves? I would argue that

Nutritional Assessment Of Food Intake
Abstract:
The aim of this practical work is to check the usual food intake during a weekday
and weekend. Total nutrient intake distributions and supplement consumption were
informed. A group of individuals selected between 22 37 years of age including both
genders, and food diary and 24hr recall method is used to measure the nutritional
intake. Results obtained using SSPS software a statistical significant difference (P
value 0.05) seen between weekend and weekday.

Pure Econom Ic Loss And Consequential Economic Loss
There is a fundamental distinction between Pure Econom ic Loss and
Consequential Economic Loss, as Pure Eco nomic Loss occurs independent of
any physical damage to the person or property of the victim. What is common to
both types of claims is that in order to successfully claim or even have a leg to
stand on there must be proof of a duty of care having been broken. As long as you
can show the defendant has breached their duty of care and you have suffered
foreseeable damage then you can recover. The problem with Pure Economic Loss
is that the classes of people who can recover is very limited. The Courts have tried
to keep it this way in order to keep the number of claimants as low as possible. The
fear is that if claims for purely economic loss are allowed then it would encourage
more claims of this type. Chief Justice Cardazo from America stated Recovery of
economic loss in the absence of physical damage or per sonal injury would expose
defendants to liability in an in determinante time to an indeterminante class. This
general rule applies in Scotland, meaning that if there is no liability for causing
Pure Economic Loss, this is be cause of the Courts reluctance to open the
floodgates to an infinite number of claims. The rules for how the Courts respond to
these claims are set out in Common Law which has evolved over the years, where
patterns have formed and have now established one of the vital legal frame works

Collisions To Conserve Momentum
While determining which of the three collisions (stick together, magnetic and
explosion) were most elastic and inelastic, we found that we were not going to find
one hundred percent conservation throughout this experiment. With respect to
momentum, we found that all of our collisions conserve momentum relatively well,
with our highest percent error of 22 percent on the Head on stick together collision.
Though we were unable to calculate a percent error on the explosion collision, we
can accurately conclude that the head on magnets collision had the best conservation
of momentum as we had a percent efficiency of 91 percent. When observing
conservation of energy in this experiment, we did not have nearly the same results as

My motivation to serve in the military was singular: to serve and protect my
country, family, and friends as a member of its Armed Forces during a time of war.
Before entering high school, I desired life as a chemist, working in laboratories or
