2. Positive Effects Of Globalisation
Globalisation can be defined as the worldwide movement toward economic, financial,
trade and communications integration . (Business Dictionary. (2017). The definition
then goes onto discuss the interconnectedness and interdependent of a society that
allows a free transaction of capital and goods and services through the opening of
boarders and uninterrupted movement of labour. (Business Dictionary. (2017).
Globalisation can be seen in all aspects of a modern society and in the day to day
life of individuals, for example, with the advancement of technology we have seen an
increase of global communication with the use of the internet to allow people to
connect and understand different backgrounds and culture. This essay will primarily
focus on the way in which globalisation can affect and make an impact on the
economies of small community s and what the effects it has on the economy on a
global scale.
Globalisation can be argued to be the way of the future, the way to connect countries,
cultures and individuals. It is argued that the benefits encourage a less developed
country to join in the path of globalisation is that in theory it is meant to allow for
the free movement of labour, this being beneficial to a country that may be
experiencing labour shortages. This can be seen to be effective in the European
Union as they allowed migrants from Eastern Europe to move west to meet with their
labour demand. Another benefit of globalisation could be an increase in competition

In this case, the employees compared themselves with a self inside situation, which
is comparing their current situation with it was before. They found their ration
decreased because of income (effort paid) increase and outcome (salary received)
decrease. Since they regarded themselves as under rewarded, they took actions to
reduce tension and want to bring the situation back to normal. For example, symbolic
protest was emerged. They started to work according to the rules and refused an
overtime work. Thus, this is one kind of illegitimate political behavior under power in
action.
Another problem faced by Cathay is the conflict between its management and
employees. As mentioned above, the ground crews perceived that the company has
negatively affected their concerned working conditions. This conflict may be resulted
from poor communication between both parties, lack of openness of the company,
and failure to respond to employees needs. It is obvious that Cathay failed to respond
to its crews needs. Many ground staff complaint there is an increasing amount of
work and overtime works. Cathay, however, did not notice the heavy workload
among the staff. Thus, there is felt conflict appears among the affected employees,

In Ancient Egypt there were a variety of activities that could be enjoyed as
entertainment. They had many things for entertainment such as toys, games,
hunting and sports. Young children had toys for entertainment such as balls, dolls,
animals, and spinning tops. Dolls, animals, and spinning tops were mostly made
of wood and fabric. The most common toy animal was the lion. Toy balls were very
common and cheap. Spinning tops were expensive and you only had them if you
were in the middle class or upper class. Older children and adults were the only ones
allowed to play sports. It was believed that young children were too weak to play.
Some sports, like wrestling, were to help prepare young men for battle. Wrestling

Critical Analysis of Star Wars Released in 1977, the original Star Wars movie
quickly became the highest grossing film of all time and it changed the way
people thought of filmography. With its unique special effects and storyline, it
created a new era of Hollywood movies. It became a huge blockbuster and
eventually spawned a new universe that now spans several decades. The films,
now numbering six with three more being made, have a fan base of millions of
people. In order for a film (series) to have that large of a fan base, the fans must be
able to relate to the film. The Star Warsfilms are collectively a modern mythological

This enables the dominant race to grant privileges to some while at the expense of
others. Entrance into this group is usually exclusive to one type of person
(Kendall). In totalitarian and dictatorial instances, such as in Star Wars, the line
between the group in power and all others is bold and easy to see. Those who are
not members of the group in power are subject to discrimination and have fewer
rights and privileges in his or her society. The Star Wars films provide both
symbolic and concrete evidence of this racial disparity. George Lucas use of color
throughout the films is essential in the development of the narrative as well as to
emphasize the progression of the racial inequalities and prejudices between humans
and aliens. The color progression from The Phantom Menace to The Return of The
Jedi acts as a sort of meter pertaining to the collapse of the Republic and the rise of
the Galactic Empire. The first film chronologically, The Phantom Menace, employs
bright, happy colors to convey hope and life. The vibrant colors of Naboo, the
underwater home of the Gungan s, and the interior of many key buildings are all
made up of colors that are synonymous with (relative) peace and innocence. As the
Star Wars prequels progress to A New Hope, the bright colors are overtaken by greys,
blacks, and reds.
The warm color palette is synonymous with democracy, diversity, and

Up to now, several strategies have been undertaken to modify alkaline titanate such as
noble metal deposition, heterojunction formation and incorporation of metal ions into
titanate. Recently, Wang et al. reported the synthesis of Na K2Ti6O13/g C3N4
composite material and tested their photocatalytic activity for the degradation of
methyl orange under both simulated sunlight and visible light irradiation. Until now,
no one has reported the surface modification of alkaline titanate using transition
metals grafting with enhanced photocatalytic under visible light source. The surface
modification has done so far with noble metals, which are highly expensive and limits
the possibility for practical applications. The surface modification with ubiquitous
metals has gained much attention as they avoid the high cost noble metals. The
grafting with transition metal nanocluster promotes the multi electron reduction
reaction of oxygen molecule and ultimately enhances the photocatalytic activity. In
this study, we report for the first time Cu(II) nanocluster grafted Na K2Ti6O13
nanobelts using molten salt followed by impregnation technique. The modification
with Cu(II) cluster could enhance the light harvesting ability of Na K2Ti6O13 to
perform under visible light source. The synthesized samples were systematically

There are many commodities in our life that plays an important part in our daily
consumption. Such commodities link us to the people around the world who produce
these for us. The purpose of this assignment is to choose a produced outside of the
US, and write an essay by conducting research using sources such as use information
directly from the store or company, academic articles/books, the Internet and personal
interviews. The essay will answer questions about the location of commodity, the
corporate entity that controls the production and distribution of that commodity,
labour and the conditions of labour engaged in producing commodity, environmental
consequences of the commodity and the importance of commodity in our lives at US.
Where is the commodity produced? What corporate entity controls the production and
distribution of that commodity?
The commodity chosen is coffee bean that is a seed of the coffee plant, and is the
source for coffee, a very popular brewed drink with a distinct aroma and flavour.
Coffee beans are found inside berries of the Coffee plant. The plants of coffee are
cultivated in over 70 countries, mainly in the regions of India, Americas, Africa and
Southeast Asia. The two most popular coffee types grown include Arabica and
Robusta. The beverage, coffee, is slightly acidic and has caffeine that might cause a
stimulating effect on humans. Majority of the researchers suggest that consuming

they are considered foreign residents for Australia tax purposes during the time

to a tax offset of foreign tax (Div 770 of ITAA 1997) if they return for at least half

Battle of Mogadishu: Battle Analysis
Throughout history, the United States Government and Armed Forces have learned
from devastating mistakes and decisive victories making the US Armed Forces
superior to most, if not all, other militaries; however, the Battle of Mogadishu in
Somalia throughout Operation Restore Hope, Operation Provide Relief, and the
Joint Special Operations Task Force missed the mark on such lessons learned . The
inadequate intelligence; the ignorance of tactics, techniques, and procedures; and
absence of reinforcements cost needless loss of US troops, and crippling a
sophisticated, well equipped military at the hands of an under equipped militia using
irregular warfare tactics. Even 24 years later, the impact resonating still weighs
heavily on minds of key leaders in the government along with all echelons of military
commanders.

14. The Rise of Inmate Population
With incarcerations on the rise, the inmate population across the nation is becoming
a serious topic of debate in today s society regarding both political and economic
issues. With most prisons working at thirty nine per cent over capacity, it is
becoming not only a hazard for the guards and inmates, but for the reputation of the
justice system itself (Bewig). Many see prisonincarceration as a way of radically
reforming the criminal into a normal citizen. Prison is often thought of as a
reformatory, a place where those who have wronged society learn the errors of their
way, and later rejoin society to become better citizens. While it is a utopic vision,
and there are countless examples of prisoners turning their lives around (Bunch).
Others feel that the purpose of prison is to ensure the security of the public as well as
to penalize lawlessness in a manner that focuses on punishmentfitting of the crime. In
1984 Congress changed the ruling that imprisonment could be used on a faith in
rehabilitation because of a concern that rehabilitation ... had failed. Some lower courts
have interpreted the ruling in different ways, but the overall justification behind this
ruling is to implement the guideline that a federal judge cannot consider
rehabilitation in determining whether to incarcerate an offender, or how severe the
sentencing should be. It is important to keep in mind that this does not indicate that
rehabilitation isn t impossible; hope should always be expressed that

Imagine four cute, cuddly, crime fighting penguins going on various adventures
and completing missions in order to protect their beloved home. They narrowly
escape death and act as if they are immortal. This is reality on the Penguins of
Madagascar show, but not all penguins can be like these special four, moreover be
immortal. Penguins have different lifespans, and do not stay alive forever.
Throughout their lives, they give birth, but also see some of their closest friends
pass away. For example, the Falkland Islands started with 1000 penguins, but with
the births and deaths each year, the population is becoming hard to keep track of.
This is where math comes in handy. A formula can be used to calculate the
population each year. If each couple has a chick every spring, and the penguins only
die due to natural causes, a formula to keep track of the population is 1000
multiplied by the quantity of 1.2 raised to the power x.... Show more content on

If each of the 1000 penguins mate, 500 chicks will be born. Adding 1000 and 500
will get 1500, the total number of penguins after birth. It is known that 0.2 of the
penguins die, or 0.8 of them stay alive. If 0.8 is multiplied by 1500, the total is 1200.
This represents the penguin population for the first year after the births and deaths
are accounted for. Going through one more year can make the formula clearer.
The next year starts with a population of 1200. After mating, 600 chicks are born.
Adding 1200 and 600 will get 1800. Multiplying this by 0.8 will get 1440 penguins,
the population for the second year. Taking a closer look, one can see that 1440 is
1200 multiplied by 1.2, and 1200 is 1000 multiplied by 1.2. Cleaning this up, one
can conclude that 1440 is 1000 multiplied by 1.2 squared, and 1200 is 1000

19. Essay On Eucharist And Eschatology
The Lord s Supper, or the Eucharist, is a representative meal of the Gospel; bread
and wine represent the human body of Jesus sent by the Father to be broken for our
iniquities so that we may have everlasting life through the Spirit. In this respect, it is
easy to see how the Eucharist and eschatology are related, for the sacrifice of Jesus
gives believers hope for their future. However, there are many intricate connections
between the two doctrines that the Church and believers fail to recognize. In her
article Eucharist Eschatology , Martha Moore Keish explains that it is easy to
recognize how the Eucharist is reflective of the past and influences the present, but it
hardly makes claims about the future. Similarly, eschatology makes... Show more

Furthermore, eschatology is best understood when it considers Good Friday, for
without His death, Christians have no reason to hope for the renewal of creation.
However, this renewal does not come without judgment, a prominent tension point
when discussing eschatology. Thus, Moore Keish argues that in light of the
Eucharist, this tension can be resolved. The Eucharist, she explains, serves as a
reminder that the Judge is also the Redeemer , yet it is important to remember that
judgment has already come when Jesus bears the sins of the world (122). For
Christians, judgment is the past and future, and it motivates present actions that are
honoring and God fearing.
The doctrines of the Eucharist and eschatology are best understood in the context
of each other, yet Moore Keish continues, arguing that the unification of the
doctrines unites the body of believers. In partaking in the communal sacrament,
believers get a taste of the eschatological feast of the Lamb when they will all be
seated at the table of the King (116). Therefore, communion is more an act within
community than a display of one s own salvation. The breaking of the bread and
pouring of the wine is an act in which the disciples partook. When the Church
performs the Eucharist, they are joining with the body of believers past and present
in the remembrance of Good Friday while yearning for the day all believers will be
gathered around the Lord s table.
One of Moore Keish s central claims

took place in. The Weimar Republic was the era leading up to the Nazi Regime, and
obviously ultimately failed. The main party that had created the Weimar Republic
was the Social Demographic Party, which was primarily represented by the
working class. Germans felt that they had received a harsh deal in the Treat of
Versailles, and they resented the government for agreeing to its conditions. During
its 14 years, the republic faced many problems that included hyperinflation, the

The trees are used for human consumption such as housing and wooden wears. The
space created is used for some human activity such as housing or farming. By
cutting down mass quantities of tress, humans are lessening their available oxygen
supply. Air quality goes down when the oxygen supply decreases. Also, by cutting
down many trees in one area, whole ecosystems are being whipped out. Many
animals, insects, and other creatures are losing their homes and cannot survive in
other areas. These creatures could benefit the human race by being a key to
unlocking cures for diseases but these discoveries will never be made because the
homes of these creatures are being destroyed. By clear cutting whole ecosystems,
humans are destroying some of the diversity on earth.
In 200 years the world population jumped from 1 billion to 6 billion. It is now 2013
and the population has reached another billion in just 13 years. At this rate of
population growth, the earth will not be able to sustain life indefinitely without
human research and technology. Consumption needs to level off and so does the
population. Some of the burden to provide for humans needs to be taken off the
earth. Environmental science and modern technology can be used to go above and
beyond what we need to, as a race, if only we try.

ABM PROJECT 2013 1. INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY OF RESEARCH
HYPOTHESIS It is common knowledge that the prices people have to pay for
accommodation in hotels vary enormously. Furthermore, hotel revenue managers
probably posses or more or less accurate intuition of what causes room rates to
diverge. However, they do not know how Online Travel Agent sites select the
leading hotels to be placed on their first search page. In this respect, some
determinants are expected to be associated with hotel prices in a more or less linear
way. To say it differently, price differences between hotels underscore the presence or
not of some variables expected to influence the latter. It is essential for hotels to

25. The Dark Side Of Enthusiasm
The Dark Side of Enthusiasm Most often, enthusiasm is word of positive
connotations, describing one s passion for something. The Oxford English Dictionary
defined it as intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval . However, in Mary
Shelley s Frankenstein, we begin to doubt this positivity of enthusiasm, and question
the daunting natures of extreme enthusiasm. As we track the word enthusiasm and
its derivatives, there appear to be a trend in which the meanings develop;
enthusiasm no longer only holds its popular definition. By following this word
throughout the novel, we can see its deterioration as the plot progresses, as it s
passed on to different characters, and as it s associated with different words. The
first three appearances of enthusiasm are in Walton s letters to his sister. I feel my
heart glow with an enthusiasm which elevates me to heaven, Walton says, for
nothing contributes so much to tranquilize the mind as a steady purpose (6); being
in the middle of nowhere among merciless ice and lifeless landscape, Walton s
enthusiastic determination and clear purpose in his scientific endeavor is the life
force that keeps him sane and strong. It is almost a requirement in order to survive in
a lonely scientific journey, closely paralleled by Frankenstein s study. These
associations of enthusiasm with passion for learning and discovery continued in the
first two chapters after Frankenstein takes over the narrative. The word showed up
once in the beginning of

these East and West all stars are on the court: most of these players MVPs, league
leaders, and NBA champions. They are the league s best, and the best in the world
as they astonish the crowds when they show off their talent. But it takes a lot of
great traits for these players to be considered the best in the league and make it to

The best defensive player in the league, and NBA champion, and western conference
all star starter Kawhi Leonard demonstrates this ability. The San Antonio Spurs
forward Kawhi Leonard won defensive MVP in 2015 16 and is also one of the best
players in the league, averaging 25 points per game and 2 steals per game. Another
great player who also has great defensive characteristics is Paul George of the
Indiana Pacers. When not on the floor the Pacers are one of the worst defensive
teams, but when he is on the court they become 6th defensively. He is almost single
handling leading the Pacers to a playoff position this year, at the 6th seed as of right
now. The final great current NBA player whose great defensive ability makes him
strive is Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond. Drummond is the anchor of the
Pistons, and a defensive monster, averaging 1.6 blocks per game. Andre is leading
the NBA with a defensive rating of 93, and is one of the best at defending the paint.
That is how all great current NBA players share a trait of great defense to make them
the best current NBA players, examples are Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Andre
Drummond.
All good current NBA players should have good athleticism, good defense, or clutch
ability. By having all of these qualities, these players take over the league. They get

31. Character Analysis Of Bigger Thomas
Of the many characters, the audience gets to know in native son, Bigger Thomas, the
main character is the most complex. Bigger is the way he is because of his
insecurities and fears, as well as his environment and the discrimination he faces.
Bigger Thomas struggles with negotiating the different formulations of his identity
which are thrown into disarray by a segregated, inequitable and frequently hostile
society. The instability of Bigger s identity is shown to be a product of psychological
disorientation engendered by the environment of racial terror which he must cope.
(Elder 1)
Bigger has no mental focus because of his supremacist society and the absence of
opportunity towards African Americans. The greater part of his brutal contemplations
are generally parts of his actual character or his previous lifestyle that have been
gathering because of the scorn he conveys within himself (Butler structure 3). Bigger
also displays anxiety throughout the majority of the novel. The first instance is when
bigger cannot go through the robbery he and his gang had planned. He is filled with
fear and immense anxiety. Resulting him in lashing out violently. Showing the
audience he is not as fearless as he depicts himself to be. Bigger has all the qualities
of being an alternate individual when he arrives at the Dalton home. He changes his
method of speaking. He uses yessuh and nawsuh . As if he had created an alternate
personality, creating a behavior that is acceptable for
32. Toa Tora Movie Analysis
The film Tora! Tora! Tora! depicted somewhat of a bird s eye view of the events that
transpired prior to the notorious bombing attack on Pearl Harbor. It did so by
presenting back and forth scenarios of the planning within respective nations troops
and more or less the negotiations that contained a lot of tension between the Japanese
and the Americans. The film started off with the introduction of the admirals that
were assigned for each nation Admiral Isoroku Yamamotofor the Japanese Navy and
Admiral Husband E. Kimmel to be in command the United States Pacific Fleet
located in Pearl Harbor. Due to the Axis Alliance of Japan with Germany, Admiral
Isoroku Yamamoto, implies that the focal point of the United States Naval
operations at Pearl Harbor plays an important role and must first be destroyed for
the Japanese to further maximize their power in the Pacific. The Japanese were
well prepared with their excellent torpedo tactics that they have been relentlessly
practicing to gamble for the shallow Pearl Harbor. Meanwhile, In Washington,
Secretary of State Cordell Hull and Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson propose the
cooling of strategic relations with Japan after the bargain, however, some of the U.

what provoked them to develop their operation magic wherein they used their latest
technology to crack the Japanese codes to get an idea of their plans. Meanwhile, at

Jews are Gods chosen people; Israel becomes the keepers of the Old testament, the
recipients of the covenants, and the channel of Messiah (Rom. 3:2; 9:1 5). The
Law is the dos and don ts of moral behavior. God gave the Law so that people
would have a guide to live by and a standard by which they might recognize God s
purity and their sinfulness. There are 613 commandments in the Old Testament.
They oversee moral, judicial, and religious behavior. The Law is a reflection of the
character of God because the Law comes forth from the very heart of God. The Bible
says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matt. 12:34). When
God gave the Law, He was speaking out of the abundance of His heart. He was
speaking from what was in Him. Therefore, the Law is good, pure, right, and holy.
It is wrong to lie because it is against God s nature to lie. It is wrong to steal
because it is against God s nature to steal. This Law, then, by its very nature of
coming out of the heart of God and being spoken to men, is a standard for human
conduct a perfect standard. Because it was perfect and we are not, it is impossible
for sinful people to keep. It was for this reason that the Law became a stumbling
block. It became an obstacle to Man because it is an unattainable perfect standard.
The Law, then, brings about the opposite of what it requires. The Law says to be
perfect but shows you where you are not. It says to be
34. The Importance Of The Uniform Commercial Code
The Uniform Commercial Code is a set of legal rules that was developed to bring
about a sense of consistency to the commercial industry. It is merely a blueprint of
how the developers interpret the way of doing business that would be fair and just to
all parties concerned. It was totally up to the individual states if they would enact the
UCC as written or construct modifications they felt were necessary to circumstances
within that state. Once the codes were adopted by an individual state, they became
the legal authority that still governs the way many business transactions are handled
today. The Uniform Commercial Codehas been one of the standards for doing
business in North Carolina since 1965. Over the years, there have been changes and
modifications to the originally adopted code; but, it is important to note that the
basics of justice and fairness to all parties involved, have remained the same. As
important as the UCC is to commerce today, it is by no means the only law
governing business. Prior to the adoption of the UCC, the legal authority for just
about every aspect of life business or personal has been Common Law. Although the
UCC encompasses the ways of commerce today, it is important to remember that
business thrives on contracts and Contract Lawis still a major portion of Common
Law. It stands to reason that each is just as important as the other when it comes to
the standards of doing business. There are probably a wide range of opinions as to
whether

Jorge Luis Borges, author of Labyrinth, questions in his short stories the illusory
nature of knowledge. The complexities of Borges s writing making clear that not
all things are easy to understand and decipher. In all his short stories the images
help the readers to understand the message or the meaning of the text. For
instance, Jorges uses much the images of the Mirror, the Labyrinth, the Circle, and
the mise en abyme to signal one of his great themes, knowledge as an illusion. He
lays emphasis on the infinity of knowledge and the impossibility of acquiring all of
it. He also speaks of metafiction in his short story; how books speak of other book

The library is compared to a labyrinth with its composition of an indefinite and
perhaps infinite number of hexagonal galleries, with vast air shafts between,
surrounded by very low railings (Borges1962, p.62). The universe is compared to a
large and vast library whereby the latter s circumference is inaccessible (p.63). The
image of the labyrinth in the story suggests the idea of the universe as an infinite
library of knowledge and since the circumference is unreachable, we understand
that one cannot grasp all the knowledge of the world. What keeps men captured in
the cage of the universe is the fact that he cannot acquire all knowledge and all the
languages of the world: as was natural, this inordinate hope was followed by an
excessive depression. The certitude that some shelf in some hexagon held precious
books and that these precious books were inaccessible, seemed almost intolerable
(Borges1962, p.66) This story makes us question our knowledge. How much to do we
know about the universe? As we have seen, through the image of the labyrinth,
human knowledge is infinite. To conclude, visual symbolism is important in
decoding Borges fiction because it is those images that help the reader interpret the
short story. Furthermore, the imageries, that Borges had used, are what render his

Microsoft Azure SQL Database: Microsoft Azure SQL Database is a cloud database

SQL Server authentication instead of Integrated Security. When you work with SQL
Azure you don t need to spend any time on security patches, disk space, moving

Real time database system: Real time database is a database which provides the real

37. Wrestling Is An Ancient Sport
Wrestling is an ancient sport and has lots of history. Wrestling was originally from
the Greeks. Wrestling in Greece was a big sport; it was the biggest event in the
Olympic Games. Wrestling also was blessed by Greek mythology. The God Zeus
wrestled the God Cronus for the possession of the universe, and to celebrate the win
by Zeus, they made wrestlingthe decisive final event in the pentathlon.
There 3 styles of wrestling and all are similar but have different qualities. The first
style is Greco Roman. This style is very aggressive, all styles of wrestling are. This
was the first of all the styles, and back then they used to wrestle to the death. An
ancient wrestling coach would say to his team don t stop till he s dead , and that s
would his students would follow. In the matches they would slam with no regards if
their opponent was hurt, unconscious or dead. Now the Greek wrestling has much
more rules, fellow a point system, can only use upper body, and is a lot safer than
what it was.
The other style is free style. This style is very similar to Greco. It has the same
type of aggression as Greco, but you can use your upper body as well as your lower
body. Domenici s Theotocopoulos Roman hand to hand struggle and freestyle
wrestling both involve grappling with a resist, but the two sports have their
differences. Although it has an ancient sounding name, Greco Roman wrestling
originated in France in the 1900 s; the name comes from a desire to include ancient
values.

Not many people know or remember what Romanticism in American Literature is
exactly. A good majority of the American population has already learned about
Romanticism in some type of English class they took in high school, but not many,
just like myself, remember it entirely. Most of the population, as a whole, should
know about Romanticismin American Literature since it was a major part in our
Literature history while also having a brief recap of the history that follows with

Many of the authors that demonstrated Romanticism were thinking outside of the box
to get this sense of Romanticism incorporated into their work bringing creativity and
the thought of emotion and individualism together in their work. We see
Romanticism in our art, literature, and music. In the early years of Romanticism, it
quickly spread to England in 1789, then, shortly after its expansion to England, it
then was picked up on in America. The Romanticism movement was considered a
philosophical movement which, in the midst of it gaining popularity, changed the
way that people think about themselves and other people around them in the world.
Many would agree that this time would be considered an age of revolution. with the
French and American Revolution going on it changed America in a semi drastic way
both literary and as a whole society. As a result of this popular movement many
different authors, including William Cullen Bryant with Thanatopsis , Henry
Longfellow with Paul Revere s Ride , and Washington Irving with the Devil and Tom
Walker included Romanticism in their works. In my opinion, I think that The Devil
and Tom Walker portrays the most use of the idea of Romanticism. Washington
Irving starts the story out with a man named Tom Walker, who only really cared
about money. As the story goes on, Tom decides

King Seqenenre Tao II s heir, Kamose said,

Historians believe that Kamose and his army departed North into the Hyksos territory.

Carnavaron Tablet and the Kamose Stela revealed Kamose s death before reaching

Ahmose returned victoriously to Thebes. The work of his father and brother had
finally been completed. Historical evidence has proven that that point in Egyptian
history was perceived as the re birth of Egypt into a unified country, led by one

hegemony of Thebes. Excavations at Tell el Dab a reveal abandonment of the Siege

41. Character Analysis Of The Storyteller By Antonia Michaelis
The book I choose to read was The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis. Anna is a girl
who likes to dream and was quite an innocent child despite being in highschool
realty hasn t hit her yet, that was until she meet Abel also known as the polish
peddler. He is a drug dealer and that was who Anna soon came to love. Throughout
this novel there is chaos and love. The main characters who went through the most
character development was Anna becoming strong, Abel becoming unstable, and
Micha losing her innocence. Anna is an innocent teenager. She is able to block out
all of the bad and focus on what matters to her. Even if her best friends do drugs
and aren t the best of people she was still able to dream big and stay out of trouble.
Anna stayed outside. She felt stupid. She wanted to think about the old sled with

Eugene B. Sledge, With The Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa, (Novato,
California: Presidio Press, 1981)
With The Old Breed is an amazing narrative about the triumphs and defeats of the
Kilo Company, Third Battalion, Fifth Marines in which Private First Class (PFC)
Eugene B. Sledge is apart of while on the islands of Peleliu and Okinawa during
World War II. Both of these battles were known for their bloody and brutal fights.
Sledge gives incredible descriptions of his personal experiences dealing with the
climate and conditions of which he and his unit dealt with along with describing in
great detail the actions of the Marines as they fought the Japanese.

The battle for Okinawa was the ultimate test of the fortitude of men in combat. Their
resolve was tested daily as the fight consumed men and energy at a rate never
experienced in fighting in the Pacific. For the infantry units, the losses were hard
to comprehend, when compared to what are considered heavy losses by today s
standards. Sledge describes the challenges of climate as the Marines deal with
cold, rain and heat, all the while engaging the enemy in fierce combat. The
sustained exposure to the stresses of combat, push the men to their limits and
beyond as they fight for control of the island. Almost when he thinks he can t take
anymore fighting or any more deaths of his friends. They get news on June 21st
1945 that the island is finally secured and they will soon be leaving the island. You
can tell this immediately gives hope and reassures Sledge that he wont lose it
psychologically like he had seen happen to many of his fellow comrades. Sledge
stops and breathes for a moment and eats some fresh fruit, smokes his pipe and looks
out over the beautiful open sea.
Throughout all the turmoil that Sledge went through during the war, he was able to
keep his sanity along with a compassionate optimism for humanity and that to me
tells you that he truly was a great Marine.

INTRODUCTION
Second language acquisition is a process by which people learn a second language. It
refers to any language learned in addition to the first language and the differences
between both processes. Second language acquisition is a controversial issue; since,
there is no a general agreement about how and when it takes place. Several theories
and models have tried to explain the facts that may be involved ... Show more content

Both the Acculturation Model and the Accommodation Theory are mainly Socio
psychological models and do not take into account the cognitive process that takes
place in language acquisition.
Krashen also gives importance to motivation and the learner s attitude towards the L2.
However, he based his Affective Filter Hypothesis on formal Second language
instruction where motivation and the different feelings towards L2 a learner has,
from the target language affects the quantity of Input learners receive and can be
turned into Intake. The Affective Filter Hypothesis suggests that learners with low
motivation and negative views of the target language receive little Input, while
learners with more motivation received and acquire much from the Input they are
exposed to. As Krashen states:
The Affective Filter Hypothesis captures the relationship between affective variables
and the process of second language acquisition by positing that acquirers vary with
respect to the strength or level of their Affective Filters.

Your mothers and fathers are dead! Your brothers and sisters are dead! As Dia and the

younger or how his father would joke around with him on the way to school. His
family wasn t wealthy but it was enough for him. Dia was happy with his family. He
realised that he may never experience this happiness again.
Without realising it Dia fell to his knees at the sight of the dead bodies
everywhere, the gunshots echoing in the background. So consumed in the terror
of it all he didn t even feel the sharp pain of his knees hitting the ground. He was too
scared of what his future held to even move. Suddenly he felt himself shaking with
fear as a cold hand yanked him off the ground and pressed an AK47 into his arms

scenery all I wanted to do was eat, I was so hungry. Jennifer, my waitress, finally
came over and read off the specials. She was so nice she asked my family and I what
would we like to drink. Then, she brought out this brown rye wheat bread, and white
sourdoughbread. I wasn t a fan of the brown rye bread it was very dry and tough to
eat and has kind of a bitter taste, very hard to bite into. The sourdough bread was
my favorite; it was still kind of hard to bite into, but if you put a little bit of butter on

47. The Drug Of Drug Testing Welfare Recipients
Drug Testing Welfare Recipients To test or not to test has been has been the
question at hand for many states that are dealing with whether or not to pass the
law that welfare recipients should or should not be drug tested in order to receive
assistance from the government. Florida was the first state to mandate the law in
2011 and thereafter twenty four other states in the last year have also passed this
law in our own state of Oklahoma being one of them. Although alcohol is legal it is
abused far more than marijuana or hard core drugs, According to the 1996 study by
the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism the differences between the
proportion of welfare and non welfare recipients using illegal drugs are statistically
insignificant. Although some states have decided to pass the law for welfare
recipients in order receive government assistance, I believe it s ineffective to drugtest
these welfare recipients in order to receive their benefits. Welfare in the United States
commonly refers to the federal government welfare programs that have been put in
place to assist the unemployed or underemployed. Help is extended to the poor
through a variety of government welfare programs that include the Women, Infants,
and Children Program, which is referred to as WIC, Medicaid, and Temporary
Assistance to Needy Families commonly known as TANF and Aid to Families with
Dependent Children. Drug testing welfare recipients is negative because drug tests
performed on welfare

Relevance between Birth Order and Personality Learning Styles
Introduction
The debate between whether there is a correlation between familial birth order and
specific personality traits, such as intelligence, success, and social skills, has been
discussed and argues since 1874, where Francis Galton started to first look at the
subject. The birth order s impact on the individual is a subject that still is
questionable on whether it exist or not to this day. There are plenty of studies that
argue for and against this correlation, but the real question is which is right? Through
this study I will look to try and reassure a reassure a correlation between birth order
and personalities traits, through examining the main focus question, how does birth
order influence the personality and learning styles of an individual?
In a society where equality is important, this study can enlighten how learning styles
are influenced by birth order. Along with provided research that can help support
ways to make success achievable by more. By determining if birth order does have a
clear influence of these learning style, we can furthermore learn better ways to work
with the later children to enable them the same chances that the first born children
tend to have. This will provide evidence to help give children an equal chance at
success and prosperity.

D. Conclusions: ODI has sufficient evidence to target large farms have 50,000
chickens or over, and focus on market in California and south Atlantic region in the
short term and set an initial high price of about $0.28 per pair. Although it may
appear that ODI may have risk of introducing new products, this option is actually
safest and most profitable for expected sales and penetration. Risk of reluctance to
acceptance new technology, low trained salesforce and new competitors in the
future may lead this strategy less efficient. It is suggested that ODI decrease the
selling price of the lenses in the long term and focus on improving the quality and
services and build a solid premium brand image in order to guarantee market share in
the future. It would be better to find multiple ways of advertising and increasing the
customers awareness and accessibility of products.

this thesis in the cases of Lester Burnham, Frank Wheeler, and Brandon Sullivan
refers to white men from (upper) middle class leading a drab, emotionally
unfulfilling life in the US in New York City and suburbs in Connecticut, to be exact.
First of all, one needs to clarify what exactly makes and antiheroand what
distinguishes him from other (stock) characters. To begin with, the Compact Oxford

In any case, the antihero undergoes a journey which is often a rollercoaster of
incidents and emotions. The term the hero s journey or also the adventure of the
hero has been coined by Joseph Campbell, who suggests in his book The Hero with
a Thousand Faces a pattern of steps each hero/heroine passes on his/her quest
towards a better life. This pattern of journey primarily addresses mythical heroic
figures and shall illustrate how the heroic self seeks an exacting spiritual
countenance, that is, a higher way of holding and conducting oneself and how [t]his
heroic way offers depth of insight and meaning (100). One can, however, detect
certain similarities between this pattern and the journeys of the American Beauty s,
Revolutionary Road s, and Shame s antiheroes. Therfore, Christopher Vogler s
adapted, less complex journey model serves as an element of reference when
outlining Lester s, Frank s, and Brandon s journeys. The following figure illustrates

The following can be concluded: With his very effective, but unusual mindset of no
retreat, no compromise, Guevara was able to set a truly revolutionary spirit within
the rebels, allowing them to push forward even through difficult times. With his
intellectual assets, he was able to build and maintain camps for rebels, in order to
place them into the correct mindset and having found a way to prevent their minds
from overheating galore. Guevara used his tactical knowledge to completely outplay
Batista s army, gain resources, and support from the rebels, which later ensured his
victory over the regime. When it comes to the extent to which Guevara provided
sustenance to the rebel army, one can hardly disagree that he setup the morale and
assure that health care and resources were available together to outsmart

Eurydice is seen to have been killed by a jealous lover who desired Eurydice for
herself. Aristaeus sought to subjugate Orpheus and bring their love to an end.
However, the two lovers ran into the woods together, effectively creating a long and
tiresome chase. Consequently, Eurydice happened to stumble and fall, having come
across a nest of deadly snakes and been bitten. This snake bite is reminiscent and
symbolic of the two characters tragic love story, and the misfortunes thrown in their
path together. Eurydice represents the subtle allusion to the snake in We saw it
coming but kept walking through the hole in the garden (Vuong 7 8). Snakes are
generally seen lurking around gardens and can easily bite anyone who may not be
paying attention such as Eurydice. Although the myth has many different version of
the story, some versions believe that Orpheus had saw the snake nest, but had not
warned Eurydice, therefore causing the snakes to bite her as she fell to her death
bed. This line can be interpreted in another more figurative way that alludes to a
scene deeper into the myth. After Eurydice s death, Orpheus is desperate and tried
anything to get her back. His desperation and love

The legalization of drugs is one of the most controversial and debated topics of the
21st century. There are both negative and positive reasons to legalize them as well as
negative and positive reasons to keep them prohibited.
According to LEAP, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, drug prohibition is the
true cause of much of the social and personal damage that has historically been
attributed to drug use. It is prohibition that makes these drugs so valuable while
giving criminals a monopoly over their supply ( Why Legalize Drugs? | LEAP

Antilegalization proponents also point out that drug dealers and hardcore addicts
would not suddenly become productive, law abiding members of society (Hartnett,
2005). The antilegalization point of view is that dealers will still be involved in crime
and violence and that users will still need to support themselves by engaging in
criminal activity (Hartnett, 2005)Also, opponents of legalization often cite statistics
that show that drug prevention initiatives, drug awareness curricula in schools, and
drug treatment programs are working (Hartnett, 2005). They point to the fact that
there are fewer addicts today than there were 20 years ago (Hartnett, 2005).
An article in the Wall Street Journal, titled Don t Legalize Drugs , discusses
additional reasons why drugs should not be legalized. Drug abuse alone cost an
estimated $55 billion in 1998 (excluding criminal justice costs), and deaths directly
related to drug use have more than doubled since 1980 (Walters, 2002).
Legalization, by removing penalties and reducing price, would increase drug
demand (Walters, 2002). Make something easier and cheaper to obtain, and you
increase the number of people who will try it (Walters, 2002). However that many
not always be the case. Alcohol is, in my opinion, a dangerous LEGAL drug that
causes thousands of deaths per year due to alcohol related accidents and mistakes
such as DUI s. Yet although alcohol is legal not everyone buys

Fossil fuels are a fuel that was formed over millions of years from organic material
from forms of life. There are different types of fossil fuels such as gas, oil, nuclear

generated from these fuels, with 73% from coaland 13% from natural gaswith
renewable energysources making up 14% of Australia s electricity (origin,2015).
Fossil fuels have advantages such as the reliability and efficiency because they
generate huge amount of energy which is more reliable (Rinkesh,2009). They are
also safe with easy transportation on large trucks or pumped through large pipes.
However, fossil fuels
