An outstanding teacher for student support services needs patience, advocacy, and the ability to adapt. They must love children, work well with others, and ensure students get necessary assistance. To address a wide range of issues, the teacher would adapt lessons to students' skills and work with others like the teacher and parents. The teacher would find creative ways to help all children in the group learn.

Operation âBlue Starâ is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Â
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
1. Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be an outstanding
teacher.
A teacher is a person who plays a virtual role in the development of children. The
future of children depends on the quilty and determination of the teacher. A teacher must
have a way of making their children believe in themselves and give their students the
feeling they can be successful. A good teacher must also be enthusiastic, out going, have
good listening skills, a sense of humor and be able to adapt to different situations.
Children will learn more if their teacher is excited about learning and life. A good
teacher must be able to adapt to changes when students are not learning. If one way isnât
working a good teacher will change and adapt his/her teaching methods.
Good teachers are people who enjoy their jobs, are flexible and enjoy working with
children.
I am a warm, enthusiastic person who lives in the world of possibilities, and can become
very passionate and excited about things. This enthusiasm lends me the ability to inspire
and motivate others. I love life, and strive to make the most out of it. I have the amazing
ability to intuitively perceive the truth about a person or situation, which is important
when being a teacher.
2. How would you address a wide range of skills in your classroom?
I would address a wide range of skills in my classroom in many ways. Many times I
would place a child, whose skills were more advanced with another student, whose skills were
not as advanced so that both could learn from each other. I would make sure that children would
also have time to work as a whole class, independently or in small groups, giving them time to
ask questions from me, going to the learning centers, and learning from each other. Learning
centers are a good way for students to play and work either alone or with their friends. This gives
them the opportunity to guide their own learning.
As the teacher I try to find out what each student is interested in and to try and keep him or her
motivated and feeling special by incorporating their interests into the classroom. Sometimes if a
student needs more help I will give him or her one-on-one time or ask a more advanced student
to help out making both students feel special.
It is important to treat each student in the classroom as an individual, work with their strengths,
help them learn to socialize with others and be successful in school.
2. Please explain how your past personal and professional experience make you a
quality candidate for the position for which you are applying.
From October 2006 to June 2009, I have worked as a floater at a childcare center in
Northbrook, IL. I learned how to work with children of all age groups from, the age of 2
to 6 years old and how they learn and develop into healthy adults.
From August 2000 to October 2006 I worked, as a Teachers Assistant at a daycare
where I have learned that it is important to make the children feel welcome and have a
positive experience at school. Preschool is very important because it is the childrenâs
first experience at school and you want them to enjoy school.
It is amazing how much children learn through constructive play and how they can teach
themselves from just playing with something as simple as playdoo. I have also helped the
children learn how to solve their problems and improve their social skills. I have taught
gross motor games like baseball, basketball, four corners, and soccer. I have assisted in
cooking activities, set up and taught art activities, setup dramatic play areas, taught the
children gardening and woodworking.
As a Kindergarten Classroom Assistant, I helped teach the children the days of the week
and months of the year, counting, and calendar time. I helped teach the children to read
and write, to use phonics and to be able to write their names in cursive. We taught some
basic math like odd and even numbers which lead to adding and subtracting. I also did art
and science projects every week.
They always seem to flock toward me and my happy, go lucky personality
wherever I go. I have had over 8 years experience working with children at childcare
centers and believe that makes me qualified for the job I am applying for.
Why do you feel you are the best candidate for the position?
I believe that I am the best candidate for this position because I have a lot of experience
working with children, enthusiasm, flexible, and a sense of humor all-important when
working with the development of children.

2. Briefly describe a positive educational experience you had either as a teacher or a
student and what you gained from it.
I have had many positive educational experiences both as a teacher and as a
student. In high school, I went to an all boysâ school that had many unique teachers who
taught, guided and encouraged me to do the best I could be. For example; I had a hard
time learning a foreign language and I had dropped out of Spanish class. Then one of my
friends suggested I take Latin with Mr. Austin. Mr. Austin inspired me with his down to
earth nature and the way he made classes fun, yet made sure everyone was still learning.
As a teacherâs assistant, I have had many experiences working with students,
which made me realize the impact teachers can have on their students. For example; one
student was having a hard time writing his name. Everyday I would sit with him to
practice and guide him. I still remember the smile on his face when he was able to do it
all by himself. Another student was practicing her math and counting with M&M and
4. having a hard time. Just by sitting down and guiding her, she smiled and was empowered
to do her best. I believe that it why to be a good teacher, the teacher needs to supports the
students and makes a connection with them.
1. Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be outstanding
when working in student support services.
Teachers working with students in support services need the same skills as a teacher.
They need to love children, work well with others, and be patient with students. They
also need to advocate for their students so they can get as much extra assistant, guidance
and help they need.
How would you address a wide range of issues in your groups?
I would address a wide range of issues in my group by adapting the lesson plan to the
studentâs skills. As the Teacher Assistant, I would work with the teacher, parents and
other teachers, to make sure the students are learning. I would work with the teacher to
find ways to help the children with in the group even if it means using âoutside the boxâ
ideas.
