Essays About Poverty
Writing an essay on the subject of poverty is undeniably a challenging endeavor. The intricacies
surrounding this complex issue demand a comprehensive understanding of economic, social, and
political factors. Addressing the multifaceted nature of poverty requires not only a thorough
examination of statistical data but also a keen awareness of the human stories that unfold within
its grip.
Crafting an effective essay on poverty necessitates delving into the root causes and
consequences, exploring the disparities that exist among different socio-economic groups.
Tackling this topic requires a delicate balance between presenting cold, hard facts and conveying
the emotional weight that poverty carries for individuals and communities. The challenge lies in
articulating a compelling narrative that is both informative and empathetic, ensuring that the
reader grasps the enormity of the issue.
Furthermore, an essay on poverty should not merely scratch the surface; it must strive to propose
viable solutions. Analyzing potential remedies involves navigating through policy implications,
societal attitudes, and systemic changes. This requires a level of engagement with academic
literature, government reports, and expert opinions to substantiate arguments and provide a well-
rounded perspective.
The emotional toll of writing about poverty can be overwhelming as one is confronted with the
stark realities of human suffering. The responsibility to accurately portray the experiences of
those affected by poverty adds an ethical dimension to the writing process, demanding
sensitivity and empathy.
In conclusion, composing an essay on poverty is a formidable task that goes beyond the
conventional research and writing process. It necessitates an intellectual and emotional
investment to convey the gravity of the issue while proposing meaningful solutions. It's an
undertaking that requires diligence, empathy, and a commitment to raising awareness about one
of the most pressing challenges facing our world today.

Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet And The Great
Gatsby
The cinematic philosophy and techniques used by Baz Luhrmann show that his
films are not merely adaptations of the stories, but are rather a recreation of the
original author s work. In Baz Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet and The Great Gatsby
it is clear that he has not attempted to stay as true to the originals as possible, but
has modernized them in order to get the same response from his audience that
William Shakespeare and Scott F. Fitzgerald got from their audiences. His first film,
Strictly Ballroom can also be described as a re imagining not only of the play but
also of his own personal background of ballroom dancing. He has created these re
imaginings with his unique cinematic language, using many techniques to create
exaggerated worlds that keep audiences captivated.... Show more content on

In the times that this play and novel were written they received a massive response
from their audiences as being controversial and full of new and exciting ideas, which
is partially why they are still so popular in the world today. Baz Luhrmann, when
recreating these two tragic stories focussed on the response he would get from his
audience instead of adapting the original author/playwright s works to how they were
originally intended to be. Luhrmann achieved this by using many cinematic
techniques which include lighting, use of colour, costumes and camera techniques
such as zooming and zipping, many of these techniques which feature in his first film

Interview
An Interview with Rosalie DaRosa President of Northeast Knitting Inc.
By: Elizabeth DaRosa
Why did you decide to take over the company?
I had a lot of confidence in myself and my overall knowledge of how to manage a
manufacturing plant. I knew a considerable amount about the machines, the
employees, the customers, and the suppliers. I saw it as the opportunity to build a
future for myself and my children.
Since this is a family owned business, do your children want to carry on with the
business?
Yes I have 3 sons and they have all joined me at the plant, they have all earned
bachelor degrees in Business and they are helping to grow the business considerably.
They have the goal to not only continue the business but expand it as much ... Show

Treat your employees as if they were family. Do not expect to be respected unless
you ve earn it. Be a model to your employees.
Mrs. DaRosa is a prime example of how hard work and motivation does pay off. This
small business, even though it is manufacturing which is a dying business in
America, has thrived. Her answers were basically what I expected from a small
business manager that has both ambition and drive. NEK Inc. is a manufacturing
company that makes elastic products for a range of industries such as; military
armor, home furnishings, medical use, and even underwear. Rosalie DaRosa was
born in Cape Verde and worked in Italy as a teenager before immigrating to the
U.S. in 1969. Her father was already working at International Stretch (former name
of NEK) in Pawtucket. Like many others, in manufacturing in the 1980 s, the
company fell on hard times; it closed in 1986. With the purchase of old machines,
Rosalie began the creation of North East Knitting. As she stated to me nothing
comes easy especially in this business, and knowing that she is responsible for over
100 employees is a daunting task that she does not take lightly. Mrs. DaRosa shows
us that everything we learned in class about the challenges of a small business is
correct but also if you take those examples given to us on how to further a small
business; those same principles apply to her as
Pathogenesis Of Asthma
A plethora of both genetic and environmental triggers contribute to the pathogenesis
of asthma, one of the most prevalent respiratory diseases in the world (Burney et al,
2015). Studies have found environmental, physical and allergic triggers lead to
exacerbation of disease in suffering populations. Similarly, in the last decade,
advances in genetic research has lead to studies linking variation within specific
genes and a vulnerability to developing asthma. Understanding asthma associated
triggers has the potential to contribute to successful disease management and
treatment and is critical to uncovering the pathogenesis and etiology of asthma.
Understanding the genetic etiology of asthma is critical not only to the development

The Importance Of Entering Into Agricultural Swap
1.Swap is defined as an agreement or contract between counterparties for the
purpose to manage their exposure to risk. Our paper will specifically discuss about
one of the commodity derivatives called as Agricultural Swap and referring to the
the Agriculture Swap Contract Product (ASC) Disclosure Statement issued by
Westpac Banking Corporation dated in 10 February 2016. The main purpose of
entering into Agricultural Swap is to manage the exposure of the agriculture price
s movement by locking the price of the agriculture for a long period (Barned 2012).
Agriculture seller or buyer is entitled to exchange a floating price for a fixed price
for a specified commodity (Westpac Banking Corporation 2016). Swaps have
characteristics that similar and also differentiate them from other derivatives
instruments (McDonald 2006), which are as follow: Swaps are categorized as non
standardized contract; therefore they are traded over the counter (OTC). It is also
indicate that there is a room of privacy and flexibility to customize the contract
depending on the agreement between the relevant parties involved in the swap.
Similar with the others derivatives instruments, swaps have also a zero initial market
value. This implies that parties may enter and exit the swap contract without any cost
besides the commissions and bid ask spread. In commodity swaps, settlement could
be arranged with either physical (e.g. commodities) or financial (cash settlement).

Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
Robinson Crusoe parents wanted him to get a job in the close to home but he
liked traveling and challenge of adventure. His odyssey started when he left home
and his parents. After a series of unlucky and short voyages a storm hit his boat and
his destiny threw him away from the rest of the world, in an unknown island that
would be his living place for the rest 28 years of his life. But at least he can be
thankful to God that he was still alive and was living even though his life now will
not be that of a normal person. The overall setting of Robinson Crusoe noveltakes
place in different countries around the world as his journey continues. At first the
setting is in Hull, England because that is where he lived at first with his family. I
was born in the year 1632, in the city of York, of a good family, though not of that
country, my father being a foreigner of Bremen, who settled first at Hull. (Defoe 1)
Then the setting changes to Sallee when the Turkish pirates captured him and all his
friends on the boat. After that the setting changes to Canary island after his escape
from Sallee. Then a Portuguese ship arrived and get them to Brazil. After some
years in Brazil the setting changes to the island that he will live for the next 28 years.

huge creation that would help the development of machinery. Early adams Grader:
Throughout the years after the invention of this specific equipment it has been

great use in the creation of many projects. This machine has great use and can be
used for many things. For example this machine was used and has developed to be
used extensively in construction, road maintenance, mining, agriculture and much
more. Before the creation of this machine the graders were controlled by horses or
oxen to have the machine moving and doing the job. The first official grader was
created in 1885 by Joseph D Adams and this took place in indianapolis. This
machine brought a lot of recognition and became very well known and purchased
by people known to do the job needed to be done with graders. Because of the
recognition it got and success on the job it brought Adams decided to create his own
company, in which his creation would be sold to those who needed them. Because of
this successful creation by adams it began
Norman Rockwell s The Runaway
Description Norman Rockwell s piece of work, The Runaway, is painted on a
canvas. This famous artwork is known as an oil painting. The Runaway was painted
during 1958 and measures 35 x 33 . This amazing piece of work can currently be
found in the Norman Rockwell Museum in his collection of artworks. This museum
is located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Normal Rockwell used state trooper
Richard J. Clemens Jr. to model as the state trooper in the painting and used eight
year old Ed Locke to pose as the boy. The painting was created at the Howard
Johnson s Restaurant. The Runaway s scene shows a little boy sitting at a counter.
He looks to be the subject of the artwork. He looks like he may be around the age of
eight and has short, almost buzzed cut, blonde hair. This little boy is wearing a yellow
shirt, blue jeans, and a brown belt. His shirt is tucked in and he has what looks like
a jacket in his lap. He jeans are scrunched up, showing his white socks and shoes.
The laces on his shoes seem to be untied. To the boy s left sits a state trooper. He
looks to be in his late thirties or possible early forties. He is in his full officer
uniform, which consists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When looking at the artwork it is easy to see the fatherly feeling Norman Rockwell
put into it. When anyone thinks about a runaway child, you would not picture this
image Rockwell created. It overflows with a safe, secure feeling that the child is
okay. This is what Norman Rockwell wanted however. He wanted to show the
importance of keeping children safe and therefore put two fatherly figures in the
painting with the boy. Norman could have painted it with just the boy sitting there
alone and a waiter who ignored him. This would make us think the boy is alone and
has no protection. However, Rockwell did not want that to be the message. Instead he
depicted the two men as the boy s protection till the parents showed
Telemachus In James Joyce s Ulysses
In James Joyce s Ulysses , each episode can stand alone in meaning, understanding,
and importance. However, when analyzed in light of the rest of the episodes,
Telemachus becomes laden with hints and introductions of references that establish
themselves in future chapters. Telemachus is the introduction of major characters,
themes, and literary techniques that Joyce will expand upon throughout the novel.
According to the Linati/Gorman/Gilbert schema, the sense of the episode is the
dispossessed son in a struggle. Throughout the episode, we see many characters and
ideas struggling against a larger force, and being deprived of their rightful ownership.
The first episode is heavy on dual meanings and character representations to illustrate

cherry picking phrases that he hears in order to present a portrait of Ireland as a
nation of thinkers close to their culture, with their population represented as jolly,
intelligent, deep, and scholarly in their conversation. This cracked looking glass
that Haines seeks to represent even goes so far as to alter the way people speak

No Child Left Behind
There have been many efforts made by the U.S government to reform our public
school education system. In the year 2002, a law promoted by George W. Bush
required public schools to provide demographics on each one of their students. With
this system in place, it ensures that no child enrolled is neglected from this system.
The No Child Left Behind law is a disadvantage to our public school system. Even
though this act was put in place to aid our students, it is ultimately crippling them.
Children with learning disabilities are required to take standardized tests to comply
with the government requirements. One of the main features of the No Child Left

schools to provide a top quality education to students who are often overseen in
America s public education system. Including students with disabilities, children
from low income families and non English speakers, as well as all other ethnicities.
For the first time in U.S. history, educational progress is tracked separately and
required to be shown for each ethnic group in each school, rather than one average
for an entire school. Previously, to prove progress, schools could focus on increasing
test scores or related data for a small, bright group of students to bring up the average,
rather than ensuring that all students are given an equal opportunity at a world class
education. This new law was supposed to close the achievement gap and set higher
standard for the overall population of the students. But results have shown that
dropout rates have increased tremendously because students are overwhelmed with an
over rated state standardized test. Teachers are obligated to teach the content required
for students to achieve high test results. A method teachers often us is called the

Walser is a company that owns multiple dealerships throughout Minnesota. Most of

When theses garages need a part to fix a car they have to call it into the hub, which

delivers it to the service garage that need the part. The hub uses to be an old auto
part store before Walser bought it, though I did not work at this place before Walser

Descriptive Essay About Bo Jackson
There are many athletes in this world that prove themselves as if they are not like
any other you will see in the current generation. There are ones that jump as far as a
kangaroo and be as strong as a crocodile s jaws snap; but there is only one of these
proven athletes that has all of these assets down and can do them better. Bo Jackson
was one of those individuals that you honestly questioned if he was human or if he
was a gift from aliens who wanted to create a perfect athlete. From hitting balls, to
throwing and carrying them, anyone who watched Bo for more than 5 minutes had
almost create an image in their head of how perfectly he did everything. With all
these combined Bo jackson showed how he was a modern herowith his born talents,
his strength and fearlessness, and of course his talent in gaining followers to
watch him perform his magic. From the transitions of baseball to football and the
high jumping to sprinting, even at a young age many knew that Bo was not the
average bird in the flock. His talent and expertise showed his strength in being a
part of a noble birth and it was not the hardest to spot. Even with the early
disabilities of his childhood haunting him in his room day after day, the stuttering
would finally stop with his strength being available at the mite of his now present
anger. During school kids would know of the beast of a child to not mess with
because of the speed at which Bo threw crab apples to others in fights and the
myths or truths of him killing pigs with only the small rocks shown on the ground.
Fake or true, almost every story that was heard, told, explained that included Bo,
almost always seemed to be real to everyone. Even with the public knowing he was
great at an older age, with the starting of his youth, every kid that had heard of him
knew, he was not normal. As his age grew larger and larger, the way of fighting and
supposedly being violent had come to a stop with the opportunity of high schools
sports coming up right around the corner. The general populous knew of his strength
and skill in outdoor activities but no one was aware of how spectacular he could or
was going to be with high schoolsports. Before football season even started many of

The London Blitz Essay
In September of 1940 through May of 1941 there was a strategic bombing attack
that was lead by the Germans targeted towards London and other cities located in
England, this was known as The Blitz. The Germans aimed the bombs mostly at
populated cities, dock yards, and factories.
The bombing on London began on September 7, 1940 and lasted for 57
consecutive nights. During these nights of bombing people took shelter in warehouse
basements, and in underground subway stations with no privacy and poor sanitation
facilities.

The bombing actually brought the English people
together.
Between five and six o clock on the evening of Saturday 7th September, some
320 German bombers supported by over 600 fighters flew up the Thames and
proceeded to bomb Woolwich Arsenal, Beckton gas Works, a large number of
docks, West Ham Power Station, and then the city, Westminster and Kensington.
They succeeded in causing a serious fire situation in the docks. An area about 1ВЅ
square miles between North Woolwich Road and the Thames was almost
destroyed, and the population of Silvertown was surrounded by fire and had to be
evacuated by water. At 8.10pm some 250 bombers resumed the attack which was
maintained until 4.30 on Sunday morning. They caused 9 conflagrations, 59 large
fires, and nearly 1,000 lesser fires. Three main line railway termini were put out
of action, and 430 persons killed and some 1,600 seriously injured. After the fire
brigades had spent all day in an effort to deprive the enemy of illumination, some
200 bombers returned in the evening (Sunday 8th) to carry on the assault. During
The Scream Is One Of The Most Recognized Pieces Of Art
Edvard Munch s painting The Scream is one of the most recognized pieces of art
throughout history. He created this masterpiece in the year of 1893 and continued on
to create three different versions of the painting (Paulson). The image shows a
deathly pale, skull shaped head man clutching his hands over his ears, facing the
audience, screaming with his mouth opened wide. There are two silhouettes behind
the screaming man on the left hand side of the bridge, while the sky is bloody and the
water in the fjord rushing. On Edvard Munch s official website, the biography
mentions that Munch grew up with is mother and older sister, his two role models,
dying from tuberculosis at a young age. Leaving him and his younger siblings with
their emotionally detached father, who would torment them about going to hell and
burning, among other issues (Munch). The emotional torment Munch went through
in his early life, plagued him throughout his life and career, which resulted him
creating many different works of art with the sense of loneliness and desperation.
Munch s use of contrast and composition symbolizes the representation of man; the
inner turmoil one may face throughout life. Munch s use of a bold composition
intends to show the viewers the intended form and structure of the painting. There
are three dynamic lines within the painting: the line for railing, the line for the blood
red horizon, and the line showing the flow of the fjord. All these lines are to direct

Aristotle s Virtue Is A Disposition That Issues Correct...
In Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle understands virtue is a disposition that issues
correct choice. In this essay, we are given the task to explain what Aristotle means by
choice, which is in turn show that choice is not wishes, opinion, nor desire. Rather,
Aristotle believes choice involves desire. So, I will explain concisely why correct
choice is not a tendency to opine the correct thing to do rather correct choice is an
intimate coordination between our rational and desiring faculties. Thus, controlling
and coordinating what we desire and why we desire something. Ultimately, leading
the agent to what the right thing they should do, full stop, regardless of numerous
alternatives. We will focus on what Aristotlemeans by choice, as presented in the
Nicomachean Ethics. First, we will understand what choice is not to Aristotle. For
Aristotle, choice is not a wish because wishes can be related to impossibilities, such
as immortality, which are things that we cannot do. Rather, what we wish for is the
goal or the end that we are trying to achieve and choices are the means that will get
us to the end. Next, Aristotle believes that choice is not equivalent to opinion in the
sense of arriving at a beliefabout what to do. Aristotle says, it cannot be opinion; for
opinion is thought to be related to all kinds of things, no less to eternal things and
impossible things than to things in our own power; and it is distinguished by its
falsity or truth, not by its badness or

Positive Classroom Environment Paper
To have a positive classroom environment. You should start by implementing the
following things.
First, children need to feel welcomed once they step a foot inside the school. As we
know every child s diversity is unique in their own way. We live in country that is
composed of multicultural background structures. The center needs to have
orientated staff that are capable to assist people inside the center. Let s start by
having a positive attitude towards others. A great example is, the receptionist at the
center that I attend is very friendly always with a smile, greeting families as they
come in. Furthermore, having an efficient staff is a well practiced that should never
change. Second, teachers need to have a relationship with parents and their students.
This will create an assertive classroom environment and a partnership. Meaning
teachers getting to know the caregivers being prepared to work with the diverse
cultures represented in America. Understanding will open doors of knowledge that
will increase the relationship. When learning other cultures is not to label or separate

Claude Monet s The Impressionist Era
Born in Paris in 1840, Claude Monet would later become a leading artist in the
Impressionist era. At a young age, Monet had a passion for nature and art and in
1859, Monet began to study art in Paris. Here he met many artists such as Bazille,
Sisley, and Renoir. Monet practiced painting en plein air or moving from inside the
studios to painting outside in the open. Embodying the Impressionist era in 1873,
Monet painted Impression, Sunrise , showing many characteristics that define
Impressionismand Monet s painting style (Figure 1). The painting shows lax, bold,
and precise brush strokes moving away from the previously blended and even style
of earlier eras. Monet uses; cool purples, blues, bright oranges, and yellows show the
effect of the natural light and capture the moment and the feeling of the sunrise. In
later years, Monet focused mostly on landscapes which, today are notably Monet s
most famous works.
Pierre Auguste Renoir was born in France in 1841 and like Monet was also a
leading artist in the Impressionist art movement. After moving to Paris between 1844
to 1846, Renoir began working as a porcelain painter painting designs onto dishes and
china. In 1862, Renoir started studying art in Paris and here he met Claude Monet, as
well as Bazille and Sisley (). Similar to Monet, Renoir also practiced en plein air. In
Renoir s early works, he would paint figures, mostly women, and used bright colors
with short disconnected brush strokes. Renoir s Dance at le
Wound Care Treatment For Burn Patients
Wound care treatment for burn patients is a painful experience where pain relief
options are limited or otherwise too expensive and dangerous such as general
anaesthesia (Patterson Ptacek, 1997). Burn patients are given opioid based drugs like
morphine to manage their pain but this rarely eradicates the paincompletely and some
patients may find these drugs have little effect at all (Hoffman et al., 2004;
Patterson, Hoffman, Palacios, Jensen, 2006; Patterson Ptacek, 1997). Burn patients
undergoing wound care treatment experience increased pain in the early stages of
recovery; more so than the initial incident of being burned. (Harandi, Esfandani,
Shakibaei, 2004; Patterson Ptacek, 1997). Burn patients not only experience
physical trauma but psychological trauma as well; as such, these factors can have an
adverse effect on the patients recovery (Harandi et al., 2004). To provide additional
pain relief and expedite recovery, several studies have been conducted to explore
adjunctive pain relief methods that can be used frequently with minimum cost and
risk. Rapid Induction Analgesia (RIA) and Virtual Reality Treatment (VRT) are two
types of adjunctive treatments that researchers have investigated for managing burn
patient pain (Patterson et al., 2006). Therefore, the current study investigated if a
combination of RIA and VRT will produce a greater analgesic effect than VRT alone;
and, to also determine if the environment in VRT has any effect on pain relief. So
Argumentative Essay On Diesel Fuel
Being raised around a diesel truck has opened my eyes up to the many different
concerns and thoughts about diesel vehicles. In the 1890 s the first diesel engine
was built by a guy named Rudolf Diesel, ever since then the diesel engine has
evolved tremendously. Many people will argue that diesel fuel is the worst fuel on
the market for several reasons. A few of the reasons that people will claim that diesel
fuelis the worst fuel is because it is too expensive and it s harder for people to
afford, that the fuel isn t efficient enough, also people claim that diesel fuel is worse
for the environment than any other type of fuel. Little do the people that make those
claims know that diesel fuel is improving and becoming a better product. People
claim gasoline is better because it is cheaper, and one could get a better fuel mileage
and it doesn t put out black smoke and that makes it better for the environment....

One reason being that it cost more per gallon, but people can also drive a lot
farther on a gallon of diesel compared to a gallon of gasoline. diesel engines offer
30 to 35 percent greater fuel economy than comparable gasoline engines (Proust,
Anthony, and Marius Dorin Surcel) So therefore it would be cheaper to use diesel
fuel because if one can travel further on a gallon of diesel than gasoline people
would be filling up their gas tank a lot less and won t spend as much money every
week. Diesel does cost more to produce, but that s only because it makes the fuel
cleaner and makes it last longer and wouldn t take as much

In The Divine Comedy, Dante the Pilgrim journeys through Hell, Purgatory, and
Heaven. The journey that Dante undertakes serves as a guide for how we need to

throughout Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise. According to Dante, Godgives use free
will, which we can exercise in any way, to do both good and evil. Dante discovers,
through his journey, that ultimate freedom, however, is found in aligning our free
will with the will of God. According to Dante, meaning in life can be found when
we come to this realization. Dante claims that all humans are gifted free will from
God. The importance of free will lies in the notion that, if everything were pre
determined, our choices and our lives would effectively lose meaning. God grants us
control over our destinies that is, whether we go to Hell, Purgatory, or Heaven. By
giving humans free will, God allows us to either follow good or evil paths in our
lives. This is particularly important because if our choices were guided, it would
lack the significance of our choosing to love God through the exercise of our own
will. Through Dante s travels in Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise, he discovers that
free will is God s greatest gift to us, and that it can lead us to ultimate happiness or
ultimate misery. If it is so easy for humans to stray from the path of God s love, why
does he grant us free will in the first place? This begs the question of why God would
give humans free will, and the meaning behind giving humans the choice to use their
will to do either good or evil. Free will seems to be a representation for God s love. If
we were predetermined to serve God, our love for Him would lose the meaning it has
when we choose to devote ourselves to Him. Free will also acts as a portrayal of God
s trust in us. Trust is an essential part of love, and one could argue that, without
trust, love could not exist. God puts his trust in us to serve and love Him. Our free
will allows us to either follow this or to turn away from it. It is up to us as to whether
we seek God s love, seek it in the wrong ways, or seek evil. The souls found in
Inferno have effectively rejected God s love in favour of
The Security Of Data Tightly And Information Security
UCTION
In today s world transformation of data very securely and information security are
the most important categories for the organizations to follow or else the information
can easily be taken away by the enemies. In olden days the organizations used to
follow the encryption and decryption for the transformation of data securely which is
known as cryptography. In cryptography the security of data depends on how strong
the encryption and decryption are said to be used. But it is not very easy for the
sender and receiver to recall all the passwords. So avoid those difficulties crypto
biometric is used which is the combination of biometric and cryptography. The
biometric is a technology that identifies humans with their body uniqueness like
fingerprints, face prints and voice patterns for the validation purposes. In recent year
s most of the analysts, trying to eradicate the password identification and using the
biometric. The combination of cryptography and biometric can eliminate the recall of
passwords because the information can be used only by the identified person. But
there are some of the problems that are faced in the biometric. The biometric system
which contains the information should not reveal any biometric features. It should
also have the flexibility of converting the varied data in to the fixed. So, the data
cannot be revealed to the unauthorized person when it was transmitted. Therefore, the

EEOC General Counsel David Lopez said after the jury rendered its verdict. If all

Revenue Management
What Is Revenue Management? The science and expertise of forecasting immediate
consumer demand at the micro market stage when optimizing cost and accessibility
of your goods is called as revenue Management. The implementation of RM
philosophy is indefinite, and has the prospective to yield remarkable stages of
revenue. Enterprises that have used RM procedures have seen profits rising greatly
by 7 percent exclusive of incorporating considerable sum of capital overheads,
providing outcome in a revenue growth by 50 percent to 100 percent. The general
structure of Revenue Management permits supervisors to more intensely monitor the
business activities of consumers, so placing cost and product accessibility regulations

More precise prediction indicates enhanced production assessments, and enhanced
trade judgment stand for increasing revenue. A right sales estimation ought to be a
forecasting of that will occur independent of what you believe will come about and
nearly all, what you feel like to take place. Major expansion has been made in the
function of numerical facts study to establish more correct sales predictions of
upcoming market pattern. Such trading predictions give a separate, impassive vision
of the marketplace. Good quality sales prediction diminishes the ambiguity about the
expectations, and fantastic sales predication exchange this doubts into likelihood.
Numbers of management members consider their markets are so volatile and
disorganized where vision changes so rapidly that it is difficult to predict what will
take place. This is a offensive apology for not desiring to counter the truth of their
company and the marketplace. Each executive has to involve himself in few forecasts
regarding his or her production to compute logical assessments. These might be
depending on either perception or individual interpretation; however they have to
reveal some sort of market and manufactured goods evaluation. Human being, for the
majority part, are terrible predictors, in respect to both deliberate and accidental
preconceptions. Later, the most important human restriction is our incapability to
absorb the enormous and rising number of
Reactive Attachment Disorder ( Ptsd )
Reactive Attachment Disorder 1.Introduction Reactive Attachment Disorder is
classified under Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders under the new Diagnostic
and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM 5; American
Psychiatric Association, 2013). The following mental disorders are also classified
under Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders: Disinhibited Social Engagement
Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, Adjustment
Disorders, Other Specified Trauma and Stressor Related Disorder, and Unspecified
Trauma and Stressor Related Disorder (DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association,
2013). Reactive Attachment Disorder is a fairly uncommon mental disorder where
the child (onset is usually before age five) has severe disturbances in social
relatedness with others (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014). This results in the child not
turning to a primary caregiver (e.g. mother) for comfort, protection, or support. This
behavior of not seeking support from a primary caregiver is related to the main
diagnostic feature of the disorder, which is underdeveloped attachment (DSM 5;
American Psychiatric Association, 2013). As a result of underdeveloped attachments
with the primary caregiver, the child will display aggressive and hostile towards the
mother an may even seek attachment with strangers (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014;
Speltz, McClellan, DeKlyen, Jones, 1999). Altogether, there are six main diagnostic
criteria for Reactive Attachment
Fidelity Is Not A Sense Of Fidelity
Fidelity is faithfulness to a person, cause or belief demonstrated by continuing loyalty
and support. It seems that we as humans strive to obtain a sense of fidelity, yet they
cannot when it comes to their relationships with others. Individuals are incapable of
remaining committed in relationships. This has been proven through not only
psychological research, but in literature as well. In the scholarly articles from
Psychology Today, it states that Americans seem to value the idea of fidelity and
faithfulness, but have a hard time achieving it. The researchers believe that
individuals suffer from marital myths, that in turn can cause a partner to commit acts
of adultery. This happened directly with the character John from The Miller s... Show

They find a different outlet for their need. Humans cannot seem to find happiness
with only one person, they stray off showing that they cant be loyal or committed to
anything in life. Temptation was also a resounding reason throughout the article.
Individuals see someone else, who they may see as a challenge or simply someone
who draws their attention, and lack of better judgement kicks in. ...Many of us are
tempted by the delights of the new, especially those of the sexual variety. People
become unsatisfied and indulge in pleasure with a new partner. According to the
researchers, individuals seem to be incapable of following through to the promises
they made to their significant other. The vow of for better or for worse seems to be
forgotten because they cannot commit to the meaning behind those words. They
contradict themselves, they say they love their partner, but are unfaithful behind their
back. But sometimes infidelity can root in simply just not being happy with who you
are with anymore. They just don t make you feel the way you felt when you had first
gotten together. The relationship is no longer enjoyable and becomes a burden.
Essentially, individuals are susceptible to cheat, and sometimes the temptation and
curiosity becomes too overwhelming to fight. Many of these ideas are
Similarities Between Medea And Legally Blonde
The Murderess and the Fashionista Throughout literary history, there have been a
majority of stories based on males and their adventures. But what about fictional
works based on strong women? In Ancient Greece, Medea was focused on a
leading woman who was driven and ambitious. A more modern film, Legally
Blonde, shows a girl persistently going against the flow to make dreams come true.
Today, I am going to show how the plot and personalities of Elle Wood from Legally
Blonde and Medeaare alike using their shameful break ups, revenge, friendships,
obstacles, and how this makes them good heroes. What shame was brought about
when Jason dumped Medea? To answer this, there are a few basic things that need to
be understood about women in Ancient Greece. In this age, women were thought to
be a man s servant: whether she serve for strictly sexual pleasure or to also raise his
offspring, women were of little to no status without a man. In fact, they would not
have been considered citizens. Although women could... Show more content on

At first, their friendship begins when Elle comes to the shop crying over her man
and Paulette confides in her about her husband who left her. With each other s help,
Paulette gets her dog back from her former husband and marries the UPS guy, and
Elle wins her case and rediscovers her self worth. Both of our heroes would have
been in a pickle without their sidekick friend.
Speaking of friendships, Aegeus and Paulette are just one human similarity. There
is a chorus in both stories, although Medea s is a bit more traditional. In Legally
Blonde, it begins by showing our sorority chorus talking about how Elle is waiting
for Warner to propose and how the two are meant to be. During the story, they call
her up to ask how things are going and fill her in on what is going on at home. In
Medea, she confides to a chorus of women who tell the audience how we should be
feeling, but also how they sympathise for poor

The Gospel According To Matthew
The beginning of the book of The Gospel According to Matthew , describes the first
early stages of Jesus and his ancestry s. Jesus is the child of Mary and the Holy
Spirit. Jesus was born with a mission. The mission of baby Jesus as he grew older
was to save his people from their sins. Once he was born, King Herod had heard a
rumor that baby Jesuswould be the king of the Jewish people. Baby Jesus s existence
frightened King Herod. As Jesus grew older the more enemies he accumulated and
there were more people that were frightened by his power. Many readers believe that
the more powerful Jesus was, the more arrogant he was. However, there is a
possibility that Jesus was compassionate and humble towards his people. There are
many artists that show how Jesus is compassionate and humble, and there are other

The Pharisees disliked Jesus. Pharisees disliked Jesus because they felt that Jesus
threatened their security and prestige. The painting Healing of the Blind Man by
Carl Block made in 1871, relates how Jesus is compassionate about his people. In
the painting you see how Jesus is curing a blind man. You could tell that Jesus is
humble by the way he is dressed. You could also see that the people love him by
the way they are looking at him. The old man in the right side of the Jesus looks
like he is praying. The blind man is also holding Jesus s arm. This also shows that
Jesus is humble because he lets anybody of any social class touch him. This paining
also relates to a scene that takes place in the book. Matthew said,
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, crying loudly, Have
mercy on us, son of David! when he entered the house, the blind men came to him;
and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? they said to him,
Yes, Lord. Then he touched their eyes and said, According to your faith let it be done
to you. And their eyes opened (Matthew
Analysis Of Farewell To Manzanar And Night
Culminating Essay Oppression, defined as, unjust or cruel exercise of authority or
power (merriam webster.com) and prejudice, defined as, injury or damage resulting
from some judgment or action of another in disregard of one s rights (merriam

the worse and some are changed for the better, but some choose to share their story.
Two people named Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and Elie Wiesel
did this, they shared
their story with the whole world. They both did this by writing autobiographical
memoirs, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston wrote Farewell to Manzanaralongside her
husband and Elie Wiesel wrote Night, both sharing their experiences during well
known events that have happened in the world today. Even though the stories have
taken place at different places and different times, the people involved in these event
experienced the same things. This does not mean that they were affected in the same
way, they were affected differently in their own ways. In both stories, Farewell to
Manzanarand Night, both Jeanne and Elie experienced abuse that affected them
mentally and physically from guards or their own people. This caused them to stop
believing in their faith. In Farewell to Manzanar Jeanne met a group of nuns and
began to spend a lot of time with them. This led her to discover god, and became so
interested that she even considered getting baptized. Unfortunately, her father
would not allow this and never was baptized. This turned out to be good because
her, faith in God and in the Catholic church slipped several notches at that time
(Wakatsuki Houston and Houston 118). This happened because the conditions in
the camp were significantly decreasing and no longer put her faith in god and
began to question Catholicism overall. Elie was also put in a similar situation
when his own people were being hung. Not only did he begin to question his faith,
but others did too, Where is merciful god, where is he? someone behind me asked.
... Behind me, I hear the same man asking: For God s sake, where is God? and from
within me, i heard a voice answer: Where He is? This is where hanging here from

Stephen R. Covey presents an integrated and principle centered approach for

He goes on to explain that effective, proactive people spend most of their time in
Quadrant II. To accomplish this I would take his advice and try to organize my
week on Sundays and try to delegate responsibility with goals in mind not set ways
that they have to be done. For the interdependence section, the idea of making
emotional deposits as often as possible will allow one to feel better and work more
efficiently with everyone s needs in mind.
The major emotional deposits Covey talks about are; understanding the individual,
attending to little things, keeping commitments, clarifying expectations, and
showing personal integrity. With the help of these habits I feel like I could improve
myself. Understanding someone is very important in everyday activities and
especially in business situations. You need to understand who your consumer is as
well as whom your co workers are. When you understand them on a deeper level you
can relate better and be more productive. Something I ve always believed in is the
attention to little things matter most. It shows people that you do care and pay
attention. This ties in well with keeping commitments because that is something that
is not always a big deal but can mean a lot to people.
Thermohaline Ocean Circulation Case Study
1.Thermohaline Ocean circulation are the ocean currents that are directed by
density. The density in the water are altered by two factors; temperature and
salinity. These factors emerge from the heating and cooling of the ocean s surface.
The production of sea ice and evaporation increases salinity, while precipitation,
runoff and sea ice melting reduce salinity. 2.If it is true that the glaciers are melting,
then the ocean water in the Atlantic will become less dense and warm. There would
be an extreme increase of fresh water. The freshwater entering the atlantic will dilute
the salinity causing the water to become less dense. In the atlantic sea ice is being
shifted back by the warmer surface currents. This causes a cut back of reflection...

Heat is building up in these regions due to the deterioration of a convection cell in
the Weddell sea. The temperature difference between Antarctica and the Tropical
ocean regions has caused an raise of winds around antarctica and an expansion of
the subtropical belt. This has also intensified the tropical convection. Combined
these factors have also worked together to boost the water cycle, intensify high
pressure spaces in the subtropic, and strengthen trade winds. 5.Marine ecosystems
could face the collapse of vertical mixing if THC collapses. This would be
detrimental because vertical mixing brings up vital nutrients for the depths of the
ocean. So therefore if it collapsed phytoplankton could suffer. Also it will disrupt
currents, ruining the routines of the wildlife. It will reduce their food supply and
throw them of their nursing grounds. Fish will diminish and so will fisheries. 6.The
temperatures over land would be cooled, but mostly in the Northern hemisphere,
north atlantic and Nordic sea regions. The cooling would not be perpetual, it s
estimated to last for a few decades. Also some warming may take place to atone the
Professionalism In The Workplace
Introduction Professionalism is a term that has existed for a long time. Its definition
varies from one individual or era to the other. For some, being professional is seen
as dressing elegantly at work, or doing an excellent job. For others, however, being
professional is translated as having higher degrees or other certifications. Nonetheless,
professionalism comprises all of these definitions, although it also constitutes much
more. It is the level of aptitude or excellence, as well as the aim, conduct or qualities
that professionals have. A professionis a compensated occupation that necessitates

In most cases, applying expert knowledge at work can help solve major
organizational problems as experts incorporate their skills in the affected areas.
Further, unlike in the traditional setups where professionals were self employed

large organizations. In the current world, all professionals are a part of a larger
group that regulate and govern their activities and services. Therefore, there is lesser

Municipal Economic Development Policy
When it comes municipal economic development policy, public officials pursue
policies that will improve the economic position and financial stability or prosperity
of their city. Economic policy at the sub national level is often nonpartisan because
these types of governments do not take on redistributive or allocation policy. Rather,
they take on economic policies that most everyone agrees upon such as creating jobs
or bringing in new tax revenue. (Kogan, 2014) These policymakers main focus will
aim to increase revenue flows as well as the creation of jobs. When it comes to
economic development, cities want to attract new businesses. With new businesses
comes an increase in revenue via tax revenue. These new businesses also bring with
them new jobs. When there are new jobs, there is a reduction in unemployment and
poverty. One way municipalities aim to increase their tax revenues is by making
themselves competitive amongst other municipalities. They want to be competitive
to attract firms to locate or relocate within their limits. Policymakers increase their
citys appeal by offering tax credits and other incentives for the business to choose
them. Policymakers believe if they cities can attract new firms by investing money
they will come out on top in the end. In HBO s The Wire, we see local policymakers
deciding whether they should invest revenue in the expansion of a shipping port to
bring in increased future revenue and also to make them more competitive with

Compare Eisenhower And Truman At War
Both men, Eisenhower and Truman, reaffirmed that nothing in the coming campaign
could damage their friendship, but that very quickly fell apart. After various
misunderstandings, the ultimate fall out for the pair revolved around two men, Joe
McCarthy, a scoundrel both men abhorred, and George Marshall, a statesman both
men widely respected. This disagreement about these two men was the great divider
that set Eisenhower and Truman at war. Only after many years once Eisenhower was
out of the office would the two rekindle their friendship. The duo faced many political
and personal problems that led to their untimely deterioration. The first setback for
the pair was during Eisenhower s acceptance speech at the Republican convention. He
pointed fingers at the democratic party and said its office and administration was
wasteful, arrogant, and corrupt. Although Truman has before said It s just politics in
relation to bad mouthing President Hoover, he was slightly taken aback hearing it
come from Eisenhower. After winning the republican... Show more content on

What Is The Theme Of Fatherhood In Crusader Rabbit
Love and affection, two fundamental things we receive from our parents and loved
ones while growing up. For some kids it might be overlooked, whereas for others
who have not experienced a parent s love, it might leave them with an empty abyss
they attempt to fill in their whole lives. Thus the question remains whom do these
neglected kids turn to in hope of receiving love and affection? An example of this
could be perceived in the short storyCrusader Rabbit where the main character,
Jeremy, yearns for something he has never even experienced, moreover, how it
affects him in his adolescent life. The short story Crusader Rabbit written by Jess
Mowry from 1991, ultimately shows us how the title fatherhooddoes not only belong

His hesitancy also shows us how Jeremy s addiction has grown so strong, that he
must take his time to decide. However, Raglan, whom we still are unsure of him
being Jeremy s father, has been helping him to gradually stop his addiction. This
could for instance be seen in the following quotation:
... Yeah. One two a day; that s all. Jeremy pulled in smoke, holding it a long time, the
breathing out rings Next week it s only gonna be one.
Raglan is an important character in the short story since he is so considerate about
Jeremy, and more importantly sees hope in him. We slowly realize why Raglan is
able to understand and help Jeremy, and that is because they are so comparable to
each other. That could also be the reason why Jeremy refers to him as his father. The
could be substantiated in the following quotation:
I used to miss em... my veins, I mean. A long time ago. An sometimes I poked right

offered to pay for everything. My mom on the other hand was worried because it was
all the way in Pennsylvania and it was five days away from me . The fact that I had
never been on a snowboardor skis in my life didn t help my argument either. So as
the day approached I still hadn t received a direct answer from my mom. So Tim,
my friend s dad went to my house and reassured her that I was in good hands and
all that good stuff. When he arrived back at his house he said through my friend s
door Get packed we are leaving in two days and the arrangements were made. On the
day of the trip, my dad gave Tim the money for my equipment and such. He also
turned to me and handed me my very first 100 dollar bill for whatever I wanted or
needed on the trip. My mom handed me a prepaid cell phone and she told me to call
her twice a day. I went... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After about a half hour of walking down the mountain I sat on my snowboard to
take a break. When I stood up the board slid out from under me and started making
it s way down the mountain without me. In turn, I was forced to chase it, as it
caused other snowboarders and skiers to dodge and avoid my board and me. The
people who caught my board were in there twenties and did not have any sympathy
for the situation and laughed at me for being scared to fall off the mountain. If I
ever try snowboarding again, I will know not to take off the snowboard while on the
mountain and that s how I learned my

Essays About Poverty

  • 1. Essays About Poverty Writing an essay on the subject of poverty is undeniably a challenging endeavor. The intricacies surrounding this complex issue demand a comprehensive understanding of economic, social, and political factors. Addressing the multifaceted nature of poverty requires not only a thorough examination of statistical data but also a keen awareness of the human stories that unfold within its grip. Crafting an effective essay on poverty necessitates delving into the root causes and consequences, exploring the disparities that exist among different socio-economic groups. Tackling this topic requires a delicate balance between presenting cold, hard facts and conveying the emotional weight that poverty carries for individuals and communities. The challenge lies in articulating a compelling narrative that is both informative and empathetic, ensuring that the reader grasps the enormity of the issue. Furthermore, an essay on poverty should not merely scratch the surface; it must strive to propose viable solutions. Analyzing potential remedies involves navigating through policy implications, societal attitudes, and systemic changes. This requires a level of engagement with academic literature, government reports, and expert opinions to substantiate arguments and provide a well- rounded perspective. The emotional toll of writing about poverty can be overwhelming as one is confronted with the stark realities of human suffering. The responsibility to accurately portray the experiences of those affected by poverty adds an ethical dimension to the writing process, demanding sensitivity and empathy. In conclusion, composing an essay on poverty is a formidable task that goes beyond the conventional research and writing process. It necessitates an intellectual and emotional investment to convey the gravity of the issue while proposing meaningful solutions. It's an undertaking that requires diligence, empathy, and a commitment to raising awareness about one of the most pressing challenges facing our world today. • 2. Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet And The Great Gatsby The cinematic philosophy and techniques used by Baz Luhrmann show that his films are not merely adaptations of the stories, but are rather a recreation of the original author s work. In Baz Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet and The Great Gatsby it is clear that he has not attempted to stay as true to the originals as possible, but has modernized them in order to get the same response from his audience that William Shakespeare and Scott F. Fitzgerald got from their audiences. His first film, Strictly Ballroom can also be described as a re imagining not only of the play but also of his own personal background of ballroom dancing. He has created these re imaginings with his unique cinematic language, using many techniques to create exaggerated worlds that keep audiences captivated.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the times that this play and novel were written they received a massive response from their audiences as being controversial and full of new and exciting ideas, which is partially why they are still so popular in the world today. Baz Luhrmann, when recreating these two tragic stories focussed on the response he would get from his audience instead of adapting the original author/playwright s works to how they were originally intended to be. Luhrmann achieved this by using many cinematic techniques which include lighting, use of colour, costumes and camera techniques such as zooming and zipping, many of these techniques which feature in his first film Strictly Ballroom as
  • 3. Interview An Interview with Rosalie DaRosa President of Northeast Knitting Inc. By: Elizabeth DaRosa Why did you decide to take over the company? I had a lot of confidence in myself and my overall knowledge of how to manage a manufacturing plant. I knew a considerable amount about the machines, the employees, the customers, and the suppliers. I saw it as the opportunity to build a future for myself and my children. Since this is a family owned business, do your children want to carry on with the business? Yes I have 3 sons and they have all joined me at the plant, they have all earned bachelor degrees in Business and they are helping to grow the business considerably. They have the goal to not only continue the business but expand it as much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Treat your employees as if they were family. Do not expect to be respected unless you ve earn it. Be a model to your employees. Mrs. DaRosa is a prime example of how hard work and motivation does pay off. This small business, even though it is manufacturing which is a dying business in America, has thrived. Her answers were basically what I expected from a small business manager that has both ambition and drive. NEK Inc. is a manufacturing company that makes elastic products for a range of industries such as; military armor, home furnishings, medical use, and even underwear. Rosalie DaRosa was born in Cape Verde and worked in Italy as a teenager before immigrating to the U.S. in 1969. Her father was already working at International Stretch (former name of NEK) in Pawtucket. Like many others, in manufacturing in the 1980 s, the company fell on hard times; it closed in 1986. With the purchase of old machines, Rosalie began the creation of North East Knitting. As she stated to me nothing comes easy especially in this business, and knowing that she is responsible for over 100 employees is a daunting task that she does not take lightly. Mrs. DaRosa shows us that everything we learned in class about the challenges of a small business is correct but also if you take those examples given to us on how to further a small business; those same principles apply to her as
  • 4. Pathogenesis Of Asthma A plethora of both genetic and environmental triggers contribute to the pathogenesis of asthma, one of the most prevalent respiratory diseases in the world (Burney et al, 2015). Studies have found environmental, physical and allergic triggers lead to exacerbation of disease in suffering populations. Similarly, in the last decade, advances in genetic research has lead to studies linking variation within specific genes and a vulnerability to developing asthma. Understanding asthma associated triggers has the potential to contribute to successful disease management and treatment and is critical to uncovering the pathogenesis and etiology of asthma. Understanding the genetic etiology of asthma is critical not only to the development of successful

  • 6. The Importance Of Entering Into Agricultural Swap 1.Swap is defined as an agreement or contract between counterparties for the purpose to manage their exposure to risk. Our paper will specifically discuss about one of the commodity derivatives called as Agricultural Swap and referring to the the Agriculture Swap Contract Product (ASC) Disclosure Statement issued by Westpac Banking Corporation dated in 10 February 2016. The main purpose of entering into Agricultural Swap is to manage the exposure of the agriculture price s movement by locking the price of the agriculture for a long period (Barned 2012). Agriculture seller or buyer is entitled to exchange a floating price for a fixed price for a specified commodity (Westpac Banking Corporation 2016). • 9. Norman Rockwell s The Runaway Description Norman Rockwell s piece of work, The Runaway, is painted on a canvas. This famous artwork is known as an oil painting. The Runaway was painted during 1958 and measures 35 x 33 . This amazing piece of work can currently be found in the Norman Rockwell Museum in his collection of artworks. This museum is located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Normal Rockwell used state trooper Richard J. Clemens Jr. to model as the state trooper in the painting and used eight year old Ed Locke to pose as the boy. The painting was created at the Howard Johnson s Restaurant. The Runaway s scene shows a little boy sitting at a counter. He looks to be the subject of the artwork. He looks like he may be around the age of eight and has short, almost buzzed cut, blonde hair. This little boy is wearing a yellow shirt, blue jeans, and a brown belt. His shirt is tucked in and he has what looks like a jacket in his lap. He jeans are scrunched up, showing his white socks and shoes. The laces on his shoes seem to be untied. To the boy s left sits a state trooper. When looking at the artwork it is easy to see the fatherly feeling Norman Rockwell put into it. When anyone thinks about a runaway child, you would not picture this image Rockwell created. It overflows with a safe, secure feeling that the child is okay. This is what Norman Rockwell wanted however. He wanted to show the importance of keeping children safe and therefore put two fatherly figures in the painting with the boy. Norman could have painted it with just the boy sitting there alone and a waiter who ignored him. This would make us think the boy is alone and has no protection. However, Rockwell did not want that to be the message. Instead he depicted the two men as the boy s protection till the parents showed
  • 10. Telemachus In James Joyce s Ulysses In James Joyce s Ulysses , each episode can stand alone in meaning, understanding, and importance. However, when analyzed in light of the rest of the episodes, Telemachus becomes laden with hints and introductions of references that establish themselves in future chapters. Telemachus is the introduction of major characters, themes, and literary techniques that Joyce will expand upon throughout the novel. According to the Linati/Gorman/Gilbert schema, the sense of the episode is the dispossessed son in a struggle. Throughout the episode, we see many characters and ideas struggling against a larger force, and being deprived of their rightful ownership. The first episode is heavy on dual meanings and character representations to illustrate ideologies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He immerses himself in Irish culture only to use it for monetary gain. Haines is absent from the dispossession that Stephen feels, so that when Stephen mentions that he is ... A servant of two masters, an English and an Italian... (Joyce 16) Haines has to question, pause and consider the implication of his own suppression on Stephen and the Irish state. During the walk to the 40 foot swimming place, Stephen seems to connect the symbol of Irish art, the cracked looking glass, to the book of quotes that Haines is writing. Haines, throughout this episode and continuing episodes, is cherry picking phrases that he hears in order to present a portrait of Ireland as a nation of thinkers close to their culture, with their population represented as jolly, intelligent, deep, and scholarly in their conversation. This cracked looking glass that Haines seeks to represent even goes so far as to alter the way people speak around him. Characters like Buck who are blinded by this interpretation of rustic, intelligent Ireland are committed to seeing their story be told as such; Buck is irate when he tells Haines of Stephen s quick intelligent quips and theories, and Stephen shatters the illusion by being

Essay On No Child Left Behind Priscilla Rojas English 1A Mrs. Santani 13 December 2017 No Child Left Behind There have been many efforts made by the U.S government to reform our public school education system. In the year 2002, a law promoted by George W. Bush required public schools to provide demographics on each one of their students. With this system in place, it ensures that no child enrolled is neglected from this system. The No Child Left Behind law is a disadvantage to our public school system. Even though this act was put in place to aid our students, it is ultimately crippling them. Including students with disabilities, children from low income families and non English speakers, as well as all other ethnicities. For the first time in U.S. history, educational progress is tracked separately and required to be shown for each ethnic group in each school, rather than one average for an entire school. Previously, to prove progress, schools could focus on increasing test scores or related data for a small, bright group of students to bring up the average, rather than ensuring that all students are given an equal opportunity at a world class education. This new law was supposed to close the achievement gap and set higher standard for the overall population of the students. But results have shown that dropout rates have increased tremendously because students are overwhelmed with an over rated state standardized test. Teachers are obligated to teach the content required for students to achieve high test results. A method teachers often us is called the banking method. From hitting balls, to throwing and carrying them, anyone who watched Bo for more than 5 minutes had almost create an image in their head of how perfectly he did everything. With all these combined Bo jackson showed how he was a modern herowith his born talents, his strength and fearlessness, and of course his talent in gaining followers to watch him perform his magic. From the transitions of baseball to football and the high jumping to sprinting, even at a young age many knew that Bo was not the average bird in the flock. His talent and expertise showed his strength in being a part of a noble birth and it was not the hardest to spot. Even with the early disabilities of his childhood haunting him in his room day after day, the stuttering would finally stop with his strength being available at the mite of his now present anger. During school kids would know of the beast of a child to not mess with because of the speed at which Bo threw crab apples to others in fights and the myths or truths of him killing pigs with only the small rocks shown on the ground. Fake or true, almost every story that was heard, told, explained that included Bo, almost always seemed to be real to everyone. Even with the public knowing he was great at an older age, with the starting of his youth, every kid that had heard of him knew, he was not normal. As his age grew larger and larger, the way of fighting and supposedly being violent had come to a stop with the opportunity of high schools sports coming up right around the corner. The general populous knew of his strength and skill in outdoor activities but no one was aware of how spectacular he could or was going to be with high schoolsports. Before football season even started many of the teachers and

The image shows a deathly pale, skull shaped head man clutching his hands over his ears, facing the audience, screaming with his mouth opened wide. There are two silhouettes behind the screaming man on the left hand side of the bridge, while the sky is bloody and the water in the fjord rushing. The emotional torment Munch went through in his early life, plagued him throughout his life and career, which resulted him creating many different works of art with the sense of loneliness and desperation. Munch s use of contrast and composition symbolizes the representation of man; the inner turmoil one may face throughout life. Munch s use of a bold composition intends to show the viewers the intended form and structure of the painting. There are three dynamic lines within the painting: the line for railing, the line for the blood red horizon, and the line showing the flow of the fjord. All these lines are to direct the viewers eye
  • 16. Aristotle s Virtue Is A Disposition That Issues Correct... In Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle understands virtue is a disposition that issues correct choice. In this essay, we are given the task to explain what Aristotle means by choice, which is in turn show that choice is not wishes, opinion, nor desire. Rather, Aristotle believes choice involves desire. So, I will explain concisely why correct choice is not a tendency to opine the correct thing to do rather correct choice is an intimate coordination between our rational and desiring faculties. Thus, controlling and coordinating what we desire and why we desire something. Ultimately, leading the agent to what the right thing they should do, full stop, regardless of numerous alternatives. We will focus on what Aristotlemeans by choice, as presented in the Nicomachean Ethics. First, we will understand what choice is not to Aristotle. For Aristotle, choice is not a wish because wishes can be related to impossibilities, such as immortality, which are things that we cannot do. Rather, what we wish for is the goal or the end that we are trying to achieve and choices are the means that will get us to the end. Next, Aristotle believes that choice is not equivalent to opinion in the sense of arriving at a beliefabout what to do. Aristotle says, it cannot be opinion; for opinion is thought to be related to all kinds of things, no less to eternal things and impossible things than to things in our own power; and it is distinguished by its falsity or truth, not by its badness or

Wound Care Treatment For Burn Patients Wound care treatment for burn patients is a painful experience where pain relief options are limited or otherwise too expensive and dangerous such as general anaesthesia (Patterson Ptacek, 1997). Burn patients are given opioid based drugs like morphine to manage their pain but this rarely eradicates the paincompletely and some patients may find these drugs have little effect at all (Hoffman et al., 2004; Patterson, Hoffman, Palacios, Jensen, 2006; Patterson Ptacek, 1997). Burn patients undergoing wound care treatment experience increased pain in the early stages of recovery; more so than the initial incident of being burned. (Harandi, Esfandani, Shakibaei, 2004; Patterson Ptacek, 1997). Burn patients not only experience physical trauma but psychological trauma as well; as such, these factors can have an adverse effect on the patients recovery (Harandi et al., 2004). To provide additional pain relief and expedite recovery, several studies have been conducted to explore adjunctive pain relief methods that can be used frequently with minimum cost and risk. Rapid Induction Analgesia (RIA) and Virtual Reality Treatment (VRT) are two types of adjunctive treatments that researchers have investigated for managing burn patient pain (Patterson et al., 2006). Therefore, the current study investigated if a combination of RIA and VRT will produce a greater analgesic effect than VRT alone; and, to also determine if the environment in VRT has any effect on pain relief. In the 1890 s the first diesel engine was built by a guy named Rudolf Diesel, ever since then the diesel engine has evolved tremendously. Many people will argue that diesel fuel is the worst fuel on the market for several reasons. A few of the reasons that people will claim that diesel fuelis the worst fuel is because it is too expensive and it s harder for people to afford, that the fuel isn t efficient enough, also people claim that diesel fuel is worse for the environment than any other type of fuel. Little do the people that make those claims know that diesel fuel is improving and becoming a better product. People claim gasoline is better because it is cheaper, and one could get a better fuel mileage and it doesn t put out black smoke and that makes it better for the environment.... One reason being that it cost more per gallon, but people can also drive a lot farther on a gallon of diesel compared to a gallon of gasoline. diesel engines offer 30 to 35 percent greater fuel economy than comparable gasoline engines (Proust, Anthony, and Marius Dorin Surcel) So therefore it would be cheaper to use diesel fuel because if one can travel further on a gallon of diesel than gasoline people would be filling up their gas tank a lot less and won t spend as much money every week. Diesel does cost more to produce, but that s only because it makes the fuel cleaner and makes it last longer and wouldn t take as much
  • 22. Free Will In Dante s Journey Through Hell, Purgatory, And... In The Divine Comedy, Dante the Pilgrim journeys through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. The journey that Dante undertakes serves as a guide for how we need to live our lives in order to realize true happiness. Free will plays a central role throughout Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise. According to Dante, Godgives use free will, which we can exercise in any way, to do both good and evil. Dante discovers, through his journey, that ultimate freedom, however, is found in aligning our free will with the will of God. According to Dante, meaning in life can be found when we come to this realization. Dante claims that all humans are gifted free will from God. The importance of free will lies in the notion that, if everything were pre determined, our choices and our lives would effectively lose meaning. God grants us control over our destinies that is, whether we go to Hell, Purgatory, or Heaven. By giving humans free will, God allows us to either follow good or evil paths in our lives. This is particularly important because if our choices were guided, it would lack the significance of our choosing to love God through the exercise of our own will. Through Dante s travels in Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise, he discovers that free will is God s greatest gift to us, and that it can lead us to ultimate happiness or ultimate misery. If it is so easy for humans to stray from the path of God s love, why does he grant us free will in the first place? This begs the question of why God would give humans free will, and the meaning behind giving humans the choice to use their will to do either good or evil. Free will seems to be a representation for God s love. If we were predetermined to serve God, our love for Him would lose the meaning it has when we choose to devote ourselves to Him. Free will also acts as a portrayal of God s trust in us. Trust is an essential part of love, and one could argue that, without trust, love could not exist. God puts his trust in us to serve and love Him. Our free will allows us to either follow this or to turn away from it. It is up to us as to whether we seek God s love, seek it in the wrong ways, or seek evil. The souls found in Inferno have effectively rejected God s love in favour of

Reactive Attachment Disorder is a fairly uncommon mental disorder where the child (onset is usually before age five) has severe disturbances in social relatedness with others (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014). This results in the child not turning to a primary caregiver (e.g. mother) for comfort, protection, or support. This behavior of not seeking support from a primary caregiver is related to the main diagnostic feature of the disorder, which is underdeveloped attachment (DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013). As a result of underdeveloped attachments with the primary caregiver, the child will display aggressive and hostile towards the mother an may even seek attachment with strangers (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014; Speltz, McClellan, DeKlyen, Jones, 1999). Some people are changed for the worse and some are changed for the better, but some choose to share their story. Two people named Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and Elie Wiesel did this, they shared their story with the whole world. They both did this by writing autobiographical memoirs, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston wrote Farewell to Manzanaralongside her husband and Elie Wiesel wrote Night, both sharing their experiences during well known events that have happened in the world today. Even though the stories have taken place at different places and different times, the people involved in these event experienced the same things. This does not mean that they were affected in the same way, they were affected differently in their own ways. In both stories, Farewell to Manzanarand Night, both Jeanne and Elie experienced abuse that affected them mentally and physically from guards or their own people. This caused them to stop believing in their faith. In Farewell to Manzanar Jeanne met a group of nuns and began to spend a lot of time with them. This led her to discover god, and became so interested that she even considered getting baptized. Unfortunately, her father would not allow this and never was baptized. This turned out to be good because her, faith in God and in the Catholic church slipped several notches at that time (Wakatsuki Houston and Houston 118). This happened because the conditions in the camp were significantly decreasing and no longer put her faith in god and began to question Catholicism overall. The production of sea ice and evaporation increases salinity, while precipitation, runoff and sea ice melting reduce salinity. 2.If it is true that the glaciers are melting, then the ocean water in the Atlantic will become less dense and warm. There would be an extreme increase of fresh water. The freshwater entering the atlantic will dilute the salinity causing the water to become less dense. Municipal Economic Development Policy When it comes municipal economic development policy, public officials pursue policies that will improve the economic position and financial stability or prosperity of their city. Economic policy at the sub national level is often nonpartisan because these types of governments do not take on redistributive or allocation policy. Rather, they take on economic policies that most everyone agrees upon such as creating jobs or bringing in new tax revenue. This disagreement about these two men was the great divider that set Eisenhower and Truman at war. Only after many years once Eisenhower was out of the office would the two rekindle their friendship. • 38. What Is The Theme Of Fatherhood In Crusader Rabbit Love and affection, two fundamental things we receive from our parents and loved ones while growing up. For some kids it might be overlooked, whereas for others who have not experienced a parent s love, it might leave them with an empty abyss they attempt to fill in their whole lives. However, Raglan, whom we still are unsure of him being Jeremy s father, has been helping him to gradually stop his addiction. This could for instance be seen in the following quotation: ... Yeah. One two a day; that s all. Jeremy pulled in smoke, holding it a long time, the breathing out rings Next week it s only gonna be one. Raglan is an important character in the short story since he is so considerate about Jeremy, and more importantly sees hope in him. We slowly realize why Raglan is able to understand and help Jeremy, and that is because they are so comparable to each other. That could also be the reason why Jeremy refers to him as his father. The could be substantiated in the following quotation: I used to miss em... my veins, I mean. A long time ago. An sometimes I poked right
