The Pros And Cons Of Factory Doors
Author, Chuck Palahniuk once said. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs
so we can buy things we don t need. The topic addressed in the following paragraphs will be
about the types of chemicals that are used in clothing production, the purpose that they serve, and
to discuss the possible harms to people and the environment. The clothes made in the past were
made out of cotton and silk but now, not so much. Clothes nowadays are made out of synthetic
material that is detrimental to our health. However, the public is in the dark about what is really
going on behind the factory doors. The constant use of toxic chemicals in the clothes we buy and
use everyday is horrible the public should be aware of the things that is happening behind factory
doors because it can affect our health and the environment. First of all the United States spends too
much on clothes. According to Emma Johnson an award winning journalist and blogger, The U.S.
apparel industry today is a $12 billion business and the average American family spends $1,700 on
clothes annually, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. People have a tendency to follow the
new trends, they will spend their money so that they can fit in with society. This generation of teens
are always following the new trends which can include the clothes that one purchases, as an
example is high waisted skin tight clothing. By wearing skin tight clothing it will accentuate one s
body in a flattering way but it

Life Insurance Products Of Malaysia
Life insurance products in Malaysia
The life insurance industry in Malaysia can be divided to family takaful and conventional life
insurance. Both family takaful and conventional life insurance are similar in providing protection
against the loss of income that would result in the death of the insured. However, unlike the
conventional life insurance in which the insured transfer the risk to the insurer, takaful mutual risk
is shared among the participants. Another major difference between them is the ownership of the
companies. A conventional life insurancecompany is owned by shareholders whose objective is to
maximize profits while a takaful company is owned by the participants whose objective is to
minimize the cost incurred. The total ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The minimum paid up share capital of an insurer is RM 100 million while the supervisory
Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) for an insurer must be higher than 130%. CAR can be obtained by
dividing the total capital available by the total capital required and insurers must set their own
CAR to reflect their own profile risks and have a CAR higher than the 130% required.
Taxation
Taxation is always one of the crucial factors in business. After being fixed at 25% for seven years,
the standard corporate income tax in Malaysia is reduced to 24% from the year of assessment
2016. In comparison, the company tax rate in Australia is higher although it is scheduled to
decrease to 25% for all companies in 2026 2027. Apart from that, although Goods and Service Tax
(GST) at 6% is implemented from 1st April 2015 in Malaysia, all life insurance products exempt
from GST.
Market penetration rate
According to the BNM, the market penetration rate which is measured in terms of the sum of the
life insurance policies and family takaful in force to the total population has risen from 38.7% in
2005 to 54.9% in 2015. However, it remains distant from the government s targeted level of 75%
in the year 2020. Although the market penetration rate for family takaful products was only a
quarter of the market penetration rate in 2015, its market penetration rate has increased steadily
from 9.2% in 2009 to 14.7% in 2015. In

Bridgewater State University
Introduction
There are 5 Ted Talks being examined here today, all of which address sustainability in some form
or another. The first speaker we cover is Sylvia Earle, an oceanic researcher with a TedTalk about
the importance of our oceans followed by a short summary of discussion by William
Kamkwamba, a Malawian inventor who defied all odds. Thirdly, we will take a look at the Ted
Talk held by Penguin expert, Dylan deNapoli and her experiences with penguin rescues. Next we
will examine Leyla Acaroglu s Ted Talk about environmental folklore and finally, Satish Kumar, an
Indian activist who tells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Qrt Floods Essay
The weather of the months leading up to the South East Queensland floods not only gives an
indication of the weather patterns before the flood, but shows the continuity and change in the
weather, which ended up causing this catastrophic natural disaster. The SE QLD floods was the
result of a continuum of a build up of conditions, which can be seen in the synoptic charts.
As seen in the Mid September month, there were many high pressure systems of 1025+
hectopascals affecting australia, in particular the south west areas of the country. The ridges of the
high pressure systems impacted the North east parts of Australia as well, including most of QLD.
This caused clear skies, and dry weather seen in most of QLD, with some areas having their ... Show

With the dominant cold front impacting the south and south east area of the state, more prominent
rainfall was found, in which QLD experienced wet and generally warm days in the north, and wet
and cool days in the south east. On the 25th of the month, North Queensland was impacted from the
low pressure system condition, bringing heavy rain, for example most of the Cairns region
recorded more than 200mm during the week. With a trough extending from Northern Territory to
QLD also brought strengthened conditions to this area of the country. This trough is the beginning
of an easterly dip, which are good sources of flood conditions. This weather in November
impacted this area of QLD greatly, meaning as the disaster unfolded, the conditions of SE QLD
aided the disaster to have an even greater impact.

The November month was the month leading up to the SE Qld floods. From the synoptic charts, the
conditions evident show the ultimate lead up in conditions for the natural disaster. The pressure

The American Song Star-Spangled Banner
As a music lover since a young age, the incentives as to why artists created music have always
been intriguing to me. The time period and events that took place play a major part in the creative
process of music. This essay will consist of information from the early 18th century to the late 20th
century. It is known that culture reflects the happenings within a society. Culture is what helps
shine light on social situations which lets one know how to react or understand that society s
cultural norms. Music reflects the culture of a society. It gives insight of history, values, norms,

As explained clearly in this source, Paris fashion was a huge influence for many other places in the
world at this time. Corseted waists. petticoats, and white powdery wigs were extremely famous
during the 18th century. One of the most famous garments women wore were panniers,
undergarments worn to fan out their dresses as a sign of feminism. The drapery of the dresses
and wideness of the skirts made the women seems more regal, wealthy and important. Men s
fashion was not studied too in depth this time and it lacks the knowledge given to both sexes. The
layout and format of this website is very well organized and clear to follow through with. It gives
clear information about Paris fashion in the eighteenth century and also provides tabs for citation

Chinese Footbinding Essay
Chinese Footbinding
In addressing the subject of footbinding, one primary difficulty becomes apparent that much
remains within the realm of the unknowable. Any factual knowledge about the practice may only
be drawn from 19th and 20th century writings, drawings or photographs. In addition, many of these
documents represent a distinctly Western point of view, as they are primarily composed of
missionary accounts and the literature of the various anti footbinding societies.[1] The historical
origins of footbinding are frustratingly vague, although brief textual references suggest that small
feet for women were preferred as early as the Han dynasty. The first documented reference to the
actual binding of a foot is from the court of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gradually became the prevailing style and golden lotus became a synonym for bound feet.[5]
One notable personality who aided in the spread of footbinding was the famed writer and scholar
Zhu Xi (1130 1200 A.D.), whose commentaries on the Confucian classics would form the canon of
Neo Confucianism that would dominate Chinese intellectual and philosophical life for six
subsequent centuries. An ardent advocate of footbinding, he introduced the practice into southern
Fuijan in order to spread Chinese culture and teach proper relations between men and women,
greatly influencing other writers who mention the practice as if it were normal.[6]
Another factor contributing to the difficulty in assigning a point of time and origin to the practice
is that the spread of footbinding was neither standardized in style nor universal in practice.[7] With
local variations in method of binding, desired contours, age of initiation, paraphernalia, rituals (both
public and private), shoe patterns and terminologies, it became impossible for a master narrative to
emerge. Although some girls had their feet bound in the extreme and painful golden lotus style,
others had their feet bound in less contorted manners that merely kept the toes compressed or
limited the growth of the foot without breaking any bones.[8] In some areas and among some
social groups, such as the Hakka in southern China, women s feet were generally not bound and
even among the imperial courts of

Prosper, Texas is one of the last additions to Collin County and has a current population of over
12,000 residents (Minor, 2010). Prosper s establishment came about from the merging of two
farming settlements in 1902, however the city s name was not incorporated until 1914 ( History

oriented and providing every resident an opportunity to experience quality living while
maintaining small town ideals ( About Prosper , n.d.). The Prosper Independent School District s
(PISD) vision to reach everyone, everyday ( REACH Philosophy / REACH , 2002) mirrors the
town s belief in including everyone. Despite the exceptional growth within the city over the past
few years, the school district is determined to meet the needs of its student population. One way in
which PISD plans to ensure all of its students receive an equitable education, is through its adoption
and implementation of the Response to Intervention (RtI) program.
The Response to Intervention program came into existence as a result of various federal legislative
mandates. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) emphasized the responsibility of schools
to ensure academic progress from all students, including English language learners, students of
lower socioeconomic backgrounds, and those in special education (NCLB, 2001;) Then, In 2004,

Big Data Is Not A New Technology
Evaluation
Big data is not a new technology, however applied to the rapidly growing and changing field of
cyber security, big data companies are finding new and emerging ways to use big data analytics
to gain a competitive edge (Emerging Trends in Big Data Analytsis for 2015, 2015). Big data
analysis looks for and utilizes the patterns extracted from large volumes of data. (Kantarcioglu,
2015). One of the important uses of big data analytics is in the detection, discovery, and prevention
of cyber security threats. Big data analysis is also instrumental in the collection and analysis of the
large volumes of data collected from sensors embedded within smart grids (Bharathi, 2015). Many

This information can then be used by potential employers in hiring decisions, or even by potential
romantic interests (Mansour, 2016).
How Big Data Analytics Can Be Used to Improve or Support Cyber Security Big data analytics
shows a number of promising applications to improve and support cybersecurity. No longer can
companies and organizations rely on traditional cyber security measures such as firewalls,
encryption, and anti virus software. One of the most obvious of these is in the early detection and
prevention of cyber threats. Using a visual analytic system, IT professionals can use software that
will analyze large scale high dimensional cyber security datasets containing logs of a million
computers (Chen, 2015). This analysis will help detect unexpected changes taking places in all
areas of the data and identify potential anomalies, and help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and
availability of the data. Big data analytics can not only help detect potential future cyber attacks, it
can be used to help detect a breach that is in progress (Kern, 2015). By applying machine learning
techniques, new security events can be identified based on historical patterns (Enhancing
Cybersecurity with Big Data: Challenges Opportunities, 2014). Documentation and prevention of
cybersecurity attacks is another key

Congenital Cataracts Cause Blindness Around The World
Congenital Cataract is one of the leading preventable diseases that causes blindness around the
world, being one of the easiest diseases to treat, the major complication being that some countries
do not have the sufficient resources to treat it. The disease is formed in the eye and forms a sort of
cloud in the natural lens of the eyethat could eventually lead to blindness if not treated properly.
This type of cataractis different from most cataracts, since congenital cataracts is present in an
individual since birth, meaning that it was most likely inherited from the parents. The way that it is
inherited is by some sort of abnormality, which would transpire during the making of the proteins

The study done by these researchers proved that timely surgery can be beneficial to the vision of
individuals who suffer from congenital cataracts. They analyzed results from the aftermath of
eye surgery there was a small improvement to most of the individuals vision. There were various
individuals whose vision was not corrected and in fact was worsened. The children at the time
were around 11 years old, so it was concluded that some of the children had had the disease for too
long for it to be corrected. This underlines the significance of discovering and treating congenital
cataracts at a young age, preferably as an infant. Most developing countries are still aiming to
improve their health care and avoiding the consequences of congenital cataracts, yet they are in
trouble with nearly 30% of health professions in Africa and Asia plan to migrate to a different
country (Lenhart, 2016). In Lenhart s research article, he concludes that most troubles these
developing countries have roots from financial struggles. These financial struggles lead to poor
resources within the countries. These developing countries do not even have the machinery to
detect eye diseases in children, such as the red reflex screening. Without these tests, infants are left

Analysis Of The Fish By Elizabeth Bishop
When Elizabeth Bishop writes a poem of someone s experience catching a fish, the person
catching the fish, presumed as the narrator, describes the fish s intricate details which essentially
gives it an ugly appearance. In an explication of The Fish, the analyzer also notes how the narrator
s descriptions yield an ugly appearance of the fish, but with further observation, the narrator
realizes the beauty deep within the fish and the fact that the fish is a warrior. The ugly description
of the outside of the fish correlates with how some people tend to make a quick judgment based on
someone s appearance without taking the time to think about what their personality or
characteristics include. Or even to think about what that person has been through that has caused
them to look that way. Evidently, as the poem continues, the narrator reveals that the fish has been
through at least five battles, according to the physical scars left in its jaw. The fish, a symbol for
anyone who has dealt with difficulties during their life, will persevere even while the outside world
continues its routine. The world will never stop for one person or, in this case, an animal from the
poem, The Fish. All other people follow through with their daily tasks and the sun still shines in the
morning. Comparably, in The Fish, the crickets went on with their chatter and the soft rain
incessantly fell on the leaves and in the lake. Although neither of these setting features were

Identifying Elements
Identifying Elements There are many ways to identify unknown elements, such as the methods
used in this lab like density, conductivity and reactivity. However, there are many different types,
one of which is mass spectrometry and another is x ray spectroscopy. Mass spectrometry is a
way to measure relative masses of isotopes and their abundance. This is used to identify an
element because an element s isotopes will have abundances different from any other element, as
well as a completely different set of masses. These results are determined using a mass
spectrometer that can separate ionized charge, weigh it and figure out how much of the isotope
was in the sample. The element that is going to be analyzed must be vaporized in a gas in order
for the MS to scan it. The element is then put in a high... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Characteristic X ray spectroscopy is similar to any other spectroscopy in that is excites electrons
and then measurable energy is released and measured qualitatively and compared to well known
facts and quantitative data is derived. X rays can be excited by high energy beams made up of
electrons, protons or even other x rays. These beams are shot at the core of an atom and an inner
electron excites and moves to an outer shell. When it calms back down it releases energy. This
type of spectroscopy can be used to analyze and identify all elements on the periodic table except
for hydrogen, helium and lithium. Under characteristic X ray spectroscopy, there are two types:
energy dispersive and wavelength dispersive. In energy dispersive x ray spectroscopy, a
semiconductor detector measures the energy of incoming protons while in wavelength dispersive
x ray spectroscopy a single crystal diffracts the protons and then the crystal is moved so that all
emissions are visible. Once again a graph is made that is specific to an individual element and the
element can be identified by the

Causes Of The Boston Tea Party
On December 16, 1773, a group of overtaxed, oppressed, and overlooked colonists dumped 342
boxes of tea from Britain into the cold, dark depths of the Boston Harbor. The British Parliament
had been gradually raising the colonists taxes, taxing anything that could possibly be taxed,
continually pushing the colonists to the edge of rebellion. The TeaAct was passed on May 10, 1773,
granting the British East India Trading Company a government sanctioned monopoly on tea,
forcing the colonists to buy tea from Britain alone. Although it didn t create any additional taxes,
the colonists were so infuriated at Parliament for recent similar impositions that the Tea Act of 1773
was the grain of rice that tipped the scale for the colonists, causing them to ruin around ВЈ18,000
worth of tea. Despite destroying so much property, the Mohawks took care not to harm an members
of the crew (Schweikart and Allen, 75). The Boston Tea Partywas the correct response to the Tea
Act on top of others for three reasons; it revealed the colonists oppression, it encouraged the
colonists independence, and it set a great example for revolutions in the future. However, there is
still some debate as to whether the Boston Tea Party was a reasonable response to the oppressive
acts of the British Parliament. For example, it can be argued that the colonists could ve
compromising. However, as will be seen, these are both unreasonable.
Firstly, the Boston Tea Party was a reasonable and understable response

The Supreme Court Ruling On Gay Marriages

my true perspective and opinion regarding gaymarriages. (and gay people in general as a Christian)
A few months ago I faced a difficult time in my life. I was homeless and I had nowhere to stay

of my grandmothers house I was staying in and face the option to find shelter in a homeless shelter.
But let me back up a second. A couple weeks before my life made a turn for the worse, I met a
girl on Facebook who was a photographer. We collaborated together on eventually meeting up to
take pictures of my newborn, however, at that time I did not have any money because I was on
maternity leave and not working.
Looking at her beautiful work as a photographer, I knew one day I would have her take pictures of
my baby I just did not know when.
Then suddenly one day she messaged me and offered me free pictures of my newborn in exchange
of being able to build her newborn portfolio.

The Law Enforcement Oath Of Honor
As a police officer you put your life on the line every day, you need to be willing to take risks
sometimes be put at a disadvantage to protect the lives, defend civil rights and liberties, and they
undergo risks and tolerate such inconveniences on behalf of strangers on a daily basis. As a result,
policework has become one of the most prideful and selfless occupations in society. Making a
difference in the quality of life of others is an opportunity that policing provides, and few other
lines of work can offer. The Law Enforcement Oath of Honor as stated by the International
Association of Chiefs of Police goes: On my honor,
I will never betray my badge,
my
integrity, my character,
or the public trust.
I will always have
the courage to hold
myself
and others accountable for our actions.
I will always uphold the constitution, my
community, and the agency I serve. (IACP) Before any officer takes the Law Enforcement Oath
of Honor, one of the most important aspects is that they have a clear understanding of what the
oath truly means. The oath is a somber pledge an officer makes when they sincerely intend to do
what is said. There are nine parts to this oath, but there are three that stand out to me personally,
the first being honor. Honor means that one s word is given as a guarantee to serve and protect to
the best of their ability. The second, integrity, acting the same that you would act behind closed
doors or in public life. The third, is public trust, which you

Political Participation Essay
American political parties are unique, because the only qualification is self identification. Of
course, several factors impact how an individual politically identifies themselves. These factors may
include family life, childhood environment, etc. One major aspect is education level. How an
individual s educationlevel impacts their political self identification in the political spectrum is a
well researched topic. Education influences the binary decision to participate in politics, whether it
be through voting or some other form of political activism. Education level also shapes an
individual s various policy positions. Most directly, education (specifically political literacy)
affects how well they perceive the larger political landscape and where they fit into it.
Education and Political Participation
Adam Berzinsky and Gabriel Lenz tried to study education as a cause for political participation in
their article Education and Political Participation: Exploring the Causal Link . They compared

Hillygus analyzed whether the polarization in Washington, DC was representative of the
American public in The Nature of Political Ideology in the Contemporary Electorate . They did
this by focusing on responses to 23 questions from the 2000 American National Election Study

see how well a person s policy positions correlated to their ideological identification. These
questions covered both economic and social issues, so they were able to look at economic/social
policy positions as independent of each other (Treier and Hillygus 686). While many political
scientists agree that economic and social issues are separate issue areas, this mindset is not
reflected in America s two party system. This could potentially muzzle voters whose economic and
social policy positions do not line up with the same

The Iliad By Homer
The Iliad is a collection of poems written by Homer describing the 10 year siege of the city of
Troy by Greeks in what is now famously known as the Trojan War. Several characters stand out in
the series of poems because of the roles they played in the war, how they behaved and the acts they
took to help eventually win the war for the Greeks (then known as Akhaians). This paper
specifically investigates the writings in Books two, four, thirteen, sixteen and seventeen and why
the events in these books are important in the overall text.
Book 2 (pg. 46 47). The author, Homer, portrays a society utilizing poetic fiction. He describes of
how humans directly talked and interacted with gods (Raaflaub 469). This can be seen in page
forty six of Book two which starts by describing a dream that Zeus (god) had sent to Agamemnon
in which Zeus promises glory in the end. The interaction with gods is also evident in page forty
seven whereby a speaker asks Zeus, Apollo and Athena to give him 10 more people to help him
strategize in the war. The author of the poem also uses items that were common hundreds of years
ago such as fighting using ships and placing the ships in the historical Trojan War(Raaflaub 471
472). Such uses are common throughout the Iliad.
Book 4 (pg. 94 106). Here the author portrays a war that was filled with fictional and overly
exaggerated events/elements. Homer s narration of huge weapons and equally huge and strong men
in the war is strewn together with individual

How Did Yersinia Pestis Cause The Bubonic Plague
For centuries, plague ravaged the people living in Asia, Africa, and Europe, leading to destructive
plague outbreaks, contributing to massive panic in cities and countries where it appeared.
Believed to be the only antidote, cities would dig mass burial sites to dispose of the bodies of the
infected after their deaths, one of which was East Smithfield. East Smithfield was excavated in the
1980s and, thanks to the 2,400 bodies recovered from the graveyard, scientists were able to
reconstruct the genome from the bacterium that caused the bubonic plague, Yersinia pestis
(Callaway). Years before this discovery, Alexandre Yersin linked Yersinia pestis (Y. pestis) to the
bubonic plague; many scientists then surmised that the pathogen was behind not only the Black
death, but also a myriad of earlier mass pandemics... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The earliest recorded pandemic was believed to be the Justinian plague, named after the sixth
century emperor Justinian I, which devastated Constantinople, and was followed by several
outbreaks afterward, killing over twenty five million people (CDC). However, some modern
historians and scientists have come to doubt that Y. pestis caused these outbreaks. Many clues
tying Y. pestis outbreaks came largely from historical accounts of symptoms, but the epidemics
known to be caused by Y. pestis seemed to mild to have been caused by the same genome as that
of the Black Death. Some scholars believe that haemorrhagic fever caused viruses similar to
Ebola or Anthrax would be more likely to have been the cause of these ancient epidemics than Y.

General Fund Enterprise Business System
Joseph Weiss (2012) tells us that planned organizational change is a process that moves companies
from a present state to a desired future state with the goal of enhancing their effectiveness. Yet the
process of changing can be painful and less than successful. This is the story of the USPFO for
California and their poor managing of two simultaneous transformational changes to the
organization: transitioning to the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and splitting
and relocating the organization to two distant locales. The strategic plan was ill fated and resulted
in a leadership/employee estrangement and a silent organizational civil war. The USPFO for CA
needs to focus on reestablishing trust and team building in order to become a functional
organization again.
COMPANY OVERVIEW The USPFO for California has been located at Camp San Luis Obispo
since its establishment in 1928. Their mission is to provide financial, logistical and contractual
support to the California Army National Guard. The organization falls directly under the authority
of The Adjutant General (TAG) who answers to the Governor. There are four main divisions of the
USPFO: Comptroller, Logistics, Data Processing, and Contracting. The Comptroller Division
encompasses, Technician, Military, and Travel Pay, Budget and Fiscal (accounting), and Vendor

Insoluble Concentration
Silver sulfadiazine may displace the hydrogen bonds within the bacterial DNA. Once these
bonds that serve to connect the 2 strands of the DNA double helix are displaced, bacterial
replication and cell viability are effectively reduced. Mammalian cells have approximately 100
times more DNA than bacterial cells. Thus, the ratio of inhibitory concentrations of silver
sulfadiazine to bacterial DNA is high enough to prevent bacterial division. However, the resulting
ratio of silver sulfadiazine to epithelial DNA is sufficiently low that epithelial cell regeneration is
not impaired. As silver sulfadiazine (AgSd) is relatively insoluble it reacts very slowly with the
chloride components of tissue exudates to form silver chloride (AgCl) and sodium sulfadiazine
(NaSd). Sodium sulfadiazine thus formed being a structural analog and competitive antagonists of
para aminobenzoic acid(PABA), prevent normal bacterial utilization of PABA for the synthesis of
folic acid (pteroylglutamic acid) which is required for the synthesis of various precursors of DNA
and RNA like thymidine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Long Walk To Water Analysis
One important factor in A Long Walk to Water that helps Salva survive is his motivation from
the loss of his family/friends. After Salva loses Uncle and Mariel, Salva continues as a stronger
and more self dependent man. As it states in A Long Walk to Water, Mariel and Uncle were no
longer by his side, and they never would be again, but Salva knew that both of them would have
wanted him to survive, to finish the trip and reach the Itang refugee camp safely. I was almost as if
they had left their strenge with him, to help him on the journey....But there was no doubt: Beneath
his terrible sadness, he felt stronger (Park, 65). This proves that the death of Uncle and Mariel

Additionally, surviving the Gilo River, the crocodiles, and the rebel s shooting was
tremendously lucky. If Salva did not have this luck then he would long be gone already.
Furthermore, Slava meeting the old Dinka woman and being able to receive help from her was
also extremely lucky. As it states in a Long Walk To Water, The old woman gave Salva a bag of
peanuts and a gourd for drinking water (Park, 22). This shows that Salva meeting the old woman
is a miracle because he got housing for a few days and food and a gourd for water. This may not
seem that important however when Salva was crossing the Akobo desert if Salva didn t have the
old woman s gourd to hold water he could have died of dehydration.
A second theme in A Long Walk to Water that helps Salva survive is familybeing the most
important resource. This relates to Slava s survival because Salva depends on his Uncle for
food, water, and protection. Like it states in A Long Walk to Water, Now that Salva was without
Uncle s care and protection, the group attitude toward him changed.... No one shared anything
with him, neither food nor company. Uncle had always shared the animals and birds he shot
with everyone in the group (Park, 65 66). This shows that Salva relied on Uncle for most of what
he needed to survive and as verbalized before Salva uses Uncle like an asset for survival. So
without Uncle, Salva may have not survive at all because Uncle was the one who provided most of

but players like John Salley, Bill Laimbeer, and Rick Mahorn were all important cogs to how the

Speech On The Role Of A King
The role of a king is to be Kingly. In doing such he must be influential and have personal integrity,
be calm and balanced, be able to protect and maintain order, be hard working and energetic,

New Crossover Operator Based On The Machine And Mutation...
Abstract To solve the job shop scheduling problem more effectively, some genetic operators were
designed. In order to increase the diversity of the population, a mixed selection operator based on
the fitness value and the concentration value was given. To make full use of the characteristics of
the problem itself, new crossoveroperator based on the machine and mutation operator based on
the critical path were specifically designed. To find the critical path, a new algorithm to find the
critical path from schedule was presented. Furthermore, a local search operator was designed,
which can improve the local search ability of GA greatly. Based on all these, a hybrid genetic
algorithmwas proposed and its convergence was proved. The computer simulations were made on a
set of benchmark problems and the results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed
algorithm. Keywords Hybrid genetic algorithm, Job shop scheduling, hybrid scheduler.

The Importance Of An Important Role Within Society

preservation of materials (Vassilakaki Moniarou Papaconstantinou, (2017). As the centuries passed,
the role of the archivist expanded the schooling necessary to work as an archivist became more
complex, and the field of archival sciencedeveloped into what it is today. In the scope of library
professions, the number of archivists is still quite small. As of April 2015, there were
approximately 166,200 librarians working in the United States, as of that May, only 5,460 of these
were archivists (Eastwood, 2017). This indicates that the profession is still developing. According to

completed a bachelor s degree, one could begin working in the field, however, they would be
severely lacking in the required knowledge to perform well as an archivist. It is most typical to
further pursue a Master s degree in History, Library Science, Political Science, or Public
Administration. In the last decade, it has become common to see both Computer Science and
Information Systems as Masters Degrees (OOH, 2015; Anderson, 2010, 756). As noted by

the United States; however, multiple educators in the field seek to have one established (78).
Though there are many options for ones higher education degree, individuals seeking a career in
archives typically pursue a degree in History or LIS because of the significant overlap between
the degree and the professional competencies (Shepherd, 2010, 187). Furthermore, depending on
the specific type of archives one intends to work in, it may be necessary to pursue a dual masters.
For example, if one intends to work in the archives at a historical society, it is necessary to have a

Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow Wallpaper
Women have been seen as lesser, fragile, and intellectually inferior to men in Western societies for
centuries. Luckily strong and unrelenting women have come before us, changing the way women
have been perceived and understood and making the current period in Western history the most
favorable for women, yet. Charlotte Perkins Gilmanwas one of the aforementioned influential
women who challenged the the statues quo with her dynamic short story written in 1892 entitled
The Yellow Wallpaper
. Some may see The Yellow Wallpaper as a story about a woman
descending
into insanity after postpartum depression. However when looking at the story from a feminist
perspective, I argue that Gilman wrote The Yellow Wallpaper to demonstrate how women

With this interpretation, the symbolism of the wallpaper being a male constructed barrier of
female suppression looses all meaning. There are far too many references to our main characters
squelched life under her husband, his total control over her, and her freedom after she tears down
the wallpaper that support the story being interpreted as a woman s plight to escape the male
domineering thumb that sensors her and other women s entire worlds. Without the feminist
perspective in this story much of its symbolism and meaning would be

Quality In Healthcare
Individual Assignment #1
The most important measure of success in any kind of organization is quality. Quality is extremely
crucial in all organizations whether it is within healthcare or not because, it is a symbol that is
representing the main image of an organization. A quality of an organization is based on the facts
that they are always remarkably meeting the expectations of their customers, if not even doing
more. It also means that such organization is always striving to find the unsatisfied areas of the
customers in which to improve. When every organization ensures that it is producing quality
products or services, this not only embellishes the overall look of the company, but it attracts others

The fourth aim timely is also very important, an outstanding quality facility should not have
customers waiting too long before being provided care, not only will that contribute to losing
customers but it could result severely in worse cases such as deaths. Lastly, health care
organization should be efficient, which means they should seek to remove waste from the
facilities as soon as possible and the cost of services should be capable to afford. And the sixth
tells us that health care should be equitable, this means to be known for a great quality in a health
care organization, it must accept all kinds of people, it must not discriminate but strive to give the

A. The title of my book is Number The Stars the book is by Lois Lowry
B. My book was published in 1989
в…Ў. Setting [time and place]
A. The story takes place in 1943 in Germany. The period time is authentic because that is when
Denmark surrendered to Germany in the war. The place is real because germany started the war
and then denmark surrendered to them.
B. Some details that describe the historical period is that they travel around on horses or horse

they had cream for there oatmeal and butter for their bread, but when the war came around

I think the central conflict is real because in the 1940s the natis were sending families away and
most of the parents had to leave their kid with another family because the war was going on.
Also it in that time there was a lot of Soldiers at every corner of the block so it was unsafe for
children to walk home or be home by themselves.
V.
A. I think the author s purpose of writing this blog was because she wanted to tell the reader what
life was like in the 1940s in Germany and how hard it was to live because of the Nazis.
I think the author chose to write about this particular historical because a lot was going on during
the 1940s like the war and the Nazi trying to get rid of the Jews. I also think the author chose to
write about this historical period because She was interested about how she had to live through the
war and through having to take random kids in that they didn t know anything about.
B. I think the theme or Central message is courage but also fear because you need to have
courage to face all the things that would come your way. The theme is also fear because even
though you have to have the courage to get through all those hard times but also you have to have
fear because if you don t have fear then you would not be able to have the courage to do those

A Peasant’s Life
A Peasant s Life The peasant has always been looked upon as an object of pity, an underclass
citizen who worked to provide for the higher classes. A passage from Pierce the Ploughman s
Creed gives the perfect description of a day in the life of a peasant: As I went by the way,
weeping for sorrow, I saw a poor man hanging on to the plough. His coat was of a coarse stuff
which was called cary; his hood was full of holes and his hair stuck out of it. As he trod the soil
his toes stuck out of his worn shoes with their thick soles; his hocks on all sides and he was all
bedaubed with muck as he followed the plough. He had two mittens, scantily made of rough stuff,
with worn out fingers and thick with muck. This man bemired himself in mud... Show more content

Behind each house was a garden or small plot of land. The common fields surrounding the
village were some distance away, divided into strips and separated by twigs and pieces of
unplowed land. Past the open fields was the waste, the uncultivated land which provided grazing
land for the cattle, sheep and pigs and also fuel and timber for building.11 Bread was the staple
item of the peasant diet. Eating meat was either a rare or nonexistent occurrence. Peasants ate
whatever they grew: grains and a small percent of vegetables and potatoes. Barley and oats were
made into both food and drink for consuming. The good grains, the meat from the animals, and
the tasty fruits and vegetables went to either the lords or to the upper classes.12 The peasant s
housing was as basic as his diet. Most houses consisted of two rooms, one for living and one for
sleeping. The walls were constructed of clay or straw supported by wooden frames. The roofs
were thatched and animals were free to wander in and out. The smells of animals, sweat and waste

Children Should Be Playing Video Games For Learning
Design
CRITERION A:
In early years at school young students sometimes find basic concepts hard to grasp, difficult to
master and a challenge to recall. Young children are also very keen on playing games. Can we use
this enthusiasm to help them master the basic concepts which they will need for their future
education?
Throughout the world technology is advancing. Creating games which involve education would
speed up the process of learning and make it easier for kids to solve questions faster. Personally I
believe that kids should be playing video games for learning. It would speed up the process because
people are online globally 24 hours a day.
My seven reasons that computer games would be good for learning are... 1.It would speed up the
process of learning because people are online globally 24 hours a day.
2.Technology is advancing
3.Kids enjoy being on technology and playing on games
4.Everyone has technology
5.Different types of learners
6.Kids wont have to worry about forgetting their books its will be on all technology forever
7.It Makes kids want to learn and be more motivated.
Let s go a little more into depth...
Computer games would be good for learning because it would speed up the process of learning.
Throughout the world people are online globally 24 hours a day and at no point is there when
nobody is online. Technology is not slowing down in fact it is advancing at an unimaginable pace.

The Demilitarization Of Japan
The postwar program for Japan was complicated in some ways but then again it was all there to
rebuild the Japanese economy and make things more peaceful. One thing that was created was
called demilitarization. This was a program that was important to the post war program for may
reasons. Demilitarization is the process of disbanding a nations armed forces. In this case it was
Japanese. MacArthur who created this was very quick to achieve this goal and he left Japan with
only small police forces. Everyone knew that Japan was a very aggressive fighting nation. Their
military had fueled so much hatred in WWII which led to them being defeated brutally many times.
For example when the US had sent atomic bombs they knew Japan was full of

The United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates, more commonly referred to as the UAE, gained independence from
England in 1971. The late President, Sheikh Zayid bin Sultan al Nahyan, ruled the UAE from the
start of its sovereignty all the way until his death in 2004 (Rugh, 1997, p. 18). Zayid implemented
a federal monarchy across the state. Unlike many other monarchies, the UAE has sustained great
rule while maintaing peace with its people. Many factors influence this trend and without them the
regime of the UAE would most likely fail. The UAE has flourished for nearly 40 years with a
ruling governmental regime where the majority of power is put into the hands of only a select few
by disallowing political parties and restricting political participation (Rugh,... Show more content on

The federal government oversees major state issues such as immigration, foreign policy, public
health, wealth, transportation, and communications (Heard Bey, 2005, p. 361). But the individual
emirates still have great amounts of power over the residents. The emirates each regulate the
economy specific to its land and the money is given back to the citizens (Rugh, 1997, p.17).
Although the federal government holds the most power, the emirates are still allowed to function
with a degree of independence. The familial and traditional roles held by the leaders of the UAE
establish a long lasting legitimacy throughout the state. The current President and ruler of Abu
Dubai is Khalifa bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan, son of the prior ruler. The Prime Minister, Vice
President, and Sheikh of Dubai is Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktum (CIA, 2014). Khalifa bin
Zayid was never formally elected to office, rather he was unanimously appointed to the seat on
the same day of his father s funeral. Because of the legacy and respect Sheikh Zayid created, his
son entered office with the entire UAE s support. The UAE functions tremendously through this
charismatic and traditional legitimacy; Sheikh Zayid was looked up to as a god for his 43 year
reign of power. In many states this long standing rule from one family would not be tolerated by
the public, yet it works so well in the UAE because Sheikh Zayid created and guided the state to
such high success immediately after gaining

Research Paper On Circumcision
When having a child many questions arise such as where will we take baby while we work, how
are we going to accommodate another person in the household, and the ultimate will we
circumcise? For some families in the world it is not even a familiar question discussed, but
unfortunately in the US it is a very prevalent practice. It saddens and almost scares me that we
have become so desensitized to the thought of male circumcision of newborns. In reality it is a
very horrendous unnecessary procedure that is far too over looked. Majority of the world do
not participate in the circumcision of male newborns and deem it unnecessary. I believe this
barbaric practice should be stopped. Hopefully in the next few decades circumcision will
ultimately no longer be the decision of parents in the US, unless deemed medically necessary.
Cutting off a vital piece of skin on a vulnerable, sensitive, healthy organ should be the decision of
the person in question not the parent, not your body not your choice. The origins of circumcision
date back farther than the bible. One theory that stuck out to me was one that originated in Africa
as a way to purify people, as sex was considered to make one impure. Therefore, how would you
keep people from having sex? I would assume maybe to desensitize the sex organs would be the
best option, hence circumcision. The well cited source, CIRP, states that, Human sexuality was
seen as dirty or impure in some societies; hence cutting off the

Preschool Observation: Konnor
Setting/Environment:
On November 13, 2014 at Grossmont College s Child Development Center, I observed Konnor
who was born on March 11, 2011. At the center, there are roughly around 15 children between the
ages of three and five; there is one adult for every six or so kids. The preschool center s indoor
environment is safely secured with a locked gate that separates the outside door which leads to the
younger children centers and parking lot with the hallway to the learning and play area. There are
two separate rooms, but they both have screen doors that lead to the same play area outside. The
room on the left, which Konnor is placed in, was smaller ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He grabs one blue block and places it to one side, and begins to do that with every other color
presented to him. Konnor begins to stack up the Lego blocks separately according to the color; all
the blue blocks were stacked neatly in a separate stack, as well as the red blocks and so on.
Konnor shows maturation and according to Berger, maturation of the prefrontal cortex can be
identified through observing children play certain games such as Simon Says, and the color
game, which was found that children were able to sort the cards out by their color. (234) Konnor
shows maturation because he was able to unstack the uncoordinated colored blocks to color
coordinate them, unlike a few children surrounding him who profusely stacked the blocks,
regardless of the color order. At 3 years and 8 months old, Konnor is within the norm for this
development since it appears at 3 years old (Berger, 234). Konnor picks up a tree branch that has
fallen beside a tree, he stares at it and looks up at the tree and back at the branch. With the branch
still gripped firmly in his hand, Konnor begins to lift his body to wrap his arms and legs around
the tree. Hugging the tree with his body, Konnor begins to ease his way up the tree by pushing
his legs up first to scoot the lower half of his body up, and then lifting his arms up further to scoot
up his upper body as well. Konnor shows gross motor skills and according to Berger, gross motor
skills are defined as, physical

Systems Administration and Network Administration
Systems Administration and Network Administration Systems administration and network
administration are, in many respects, very similar jobs. Both positions are highly involved in
maintaining the computer systems in an organization, and, in some smaller firms, the position may
be handled by the same individual. However, while there are significant similarities between
systems administration and network administration, there are differences in the roles as well.
Basically speaking, system administration focuses on computer systems and networks, while
network administration looks at maintenance and upkeep of the hardware and software that
composes the network (Entrance Exams 2012, 2012). Because there is obviously an overlap
between the two different job descriptions, it can be difficult to understand why it is so important
for information technology professionals to differentiate between network and systems
administration. However, when one understands the different roles of the two different positions, it
becomes clear that, why they might overlap, and why a single individual might be able to handle
the position in a small organization, there are actually substantial differences between the two
positions. Particularly in a large organization, the two jobs may need to be handled by different
professionals with different skill sets. It is because of these different skill sets that the industry has
been so adamant about differentiating between systems and network

  • 3. Life Insurance Products Of Malaysia Life insurance products in Malaysia The life insurance industry in Malaysia can be divided to family takaful and conventional life insurance. Both family takaful and conventional life insurance are similar in providing protection against the loss of income that would result in the death of the insured. However, unlike the conventional life insurance in which the insured transfer the risk to the insurer, takaful mutual risk is shared among the participants. Another major difference between them is the ownership of the companies. A conventional life insurancecompany is owned by shareholders whose objective is to maximize profits while a takaful company is owned by the participants whose objective is to minimize the cost incurred. The minimum paid up share capital of an insurer is RM 100 million while the supervisory Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) for an insurer must be higher than 130%. CAR can be obtained by dividing the total capital available by the total capital required and insurers must set their own CAR to reflect their own profile risks and have a CAR higher than the 130% required. Taxation Taxation is always one of the crucial factors in business. After being fixed at 25% for seven years, the standard corporate income tax in Malaysia is reduced to 24% from the year of assessment 2016. In comparison, the company tax rate in Australia is higher although it is scheduled to decrease to 25% for all companies in 2026 2027. Apart from that, although Goods and Service Tax (GST) at 6% is implemented from 1st April 2015 in Malaysia, all life insurance products exempt from GST. Market penetration rate According to the BNM, the market penetration rate which is measured in terms of the sum of the life insurance policies and family takaful in force to the total population has risen from 38.7% in 2005 to 54.9% in 2015. However, it remains distant from the government s targeted level of 75% in the year 2020. Although the market penetration rate for family takaful products was only a quarter of the market penetration rate in 2015, its market penetration rate has increased steadily from 9.2% in 2009 to 14.7% in 2015. Qrt Floods Essay The weather of the months leading up to the South East Queensland floods not only gives an indication of the weather patterns before the flood, but shows the continuity and change in the weather, which ended up causing this catastrophic natural disaster. The SE QLD floods was the result of a continuum of a build up of conditions, which can be seen in the synoptic charts. As seen in the Mid September month, there were many high pressure systems of 1025+ hectopascals affecting australia, in particular the south west areas of the country. With a trough extending from Northern Territory to QLD also brought strengthened conditions to this area of the country. This trough is the beginning of an easterly dip, which are good sources of flood conditions. • 8. Chinese Footbinding Essay Chinese Footbinding In addressing the subject of footbinding, one primary difficulty becomes apparent that much remains within the realm of the unknowable. Any factual knowledge about the practice may only be drawn from 19th and 20th century writings, drawings or photographs. In addition, many of these documents represent a distinctly Western point of view, as they are primarily composed of missionary accounts and the literature of the various anti footbinding societies.[1] The historical origins of footbinding are frustratingly vague, although brief textual references suggest that small feet for women were preferred as early as the Han dynasty. The first documented reference to the actual binding of a foot is from the court of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It gradually became the prevailing style and golden lotus became a synonym for bound feet.[5] One notable personality who aided in the spread of footbinding was the famed writer and scholar Zhu Xi (1130 1200 A.D.), whose commentaries on the Confucian classics would form the canon of Neo Confucianism that would dominate Chinese intellectual and philosophical life for six subsequent centuries. An ardent advocate of footbinding, he introduced the practice into southern Fuijan in order to spread Chinese culture and teach proper relations between men and women, greatly influencing other writers who mention the practice as if it were normal.[6] Another factor contributing to the difficulty in assigning a point of time and origin to the practice is that the spread of footbinding was neither standardized in style nor universal in practice.[7] With local variations in method of binding, desired contours, age of initiation, paraphernalia, rituals (both public and private), shoe patterns and terminologies, it became impossible for a master narrative to emerge. Although some girls had their feet bound in the extreme and painful golden lotus style, others had their feet bound in less contorted manners that merely kept the toes compressed or limited the growth of the foot without breaking any bones.[8] In some areas and among some social groups, such as the Hakka in southern China, women s feet were generally not bound and even among the imperial courts of ... Big data analysis looks for and utilizes the patterns extracted from large volumes of data. (Kantarcioglu, 2015). How Big Data Analytics Can Be Used to Improve or Support Cyber Security Big data analytics shows a number of promising applications to improve and support cybersecurity. No longer can companies and organizations rely on traditional cyber security measures such as firewalls, encryption, and anti virus software. One of the most obvious of these is in the early detection and prevention of cyber threats. Using a visual analytic system, IT professionals can use software that will analyze large scale high dimensional cyber security datasets containing logs of a million computers (Chen, 2015). This analysis will help detect unexpected changes taking places in all areas of the data and identify potential anomalies, and help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data. Big data analytics can not only help detect potential future cyber attacks, it can be used to help detect a breach that is in progress (Kern, 2015). By applying machine learning techniques, new security events can be identified based on historical patterns (Enhancing Cybersecurity with Big Data: Challenges Opportunities, 2014). • 14. Analysis Of The Fish By Elizabeth Bishop When Elizabeth Bishop writes a poem of someone s experience catching a fish, the person catching the fish, presumed as the narrator, describes the fish s intricate details which essentially gives it an ugly appearance. In an explication of The Fish, the analyzer also notes how the narrator s descriptions yield an ugly appearance of the fish, but with further observation, the narrator realizes the beauty deep within the fish and the fact that the fish is a warrior. The ugly description of the outside of the fish correlates with how some people tend to make a quick judgment based on someone s appearance without taking the time to think about what their personality or characteristics include. Or even to think about what that person has been through that has caused them to look that way. Evidently, as the poem continues, the narrator reveals that the fish has been through at least five battles, according to the physical scars left in its jaw. The fish, a symbol for anyone who has dealt with difficulties during their life, will persevere even while the outside world continues its routine. The world will never stop for one person or, in this case, an animal from the poem, The Fish. All other people follow through with their daily tasks and the sun still shines in the morning. • 16. Identifying Elements Identifying Elements There are many ways to identify unknown elements, such as the methods used in this lab like density, conductivity and reactivity. However, there are many different types, one of which is mass spectrometry and another is x ray spectroscopy. Mass spectrometry is a way to measure relative masses of isotopes and their abundance. This is used to identify an element because an element s isotopes will have abundances different from any other element, as well as a completely different set of masses. These results are determined using a mass spectrometer that can separate ionized charge, weigh it and figure out how much of the isotope was in the sample. The element that is going to be analyzed must be vaporized in a gas in order for the MS to scan it. The element is then put in a high... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Characteristic X ray spectroscopy is similar to any other spectroscopy in that is excites electrons and then measurable energy is released and measured qualitatively and compared to well known facts and quantitative data is derived. X rays can be excited by high energy beams made up of electrons, protons or even other x rays. These beams are shot at the core of an atom and an inner electron excites and moves to an outer shell. When it calms back down it releases energy. This type of spectroscopy can be used to analyze and identify all elements on the periodic table except for hydrogen, helium and lithium. Under characteristic X ray spectroscopy, there are two types: energy dispersive and wavelength dispersive. In energy dispersive x ray spectroscopy, a semiconductor detector measures the energy of incoming protons while in wavelength dispersive x ray spectroscopy a single crystal diffracts the protons and then the crystal is moved so that all emissions are visible. • 18. Causes Of The Boston Tea Party On December 16, 1773, a group of overtaxed, oppressed, and overlooked colonists dumped 342 boxes of tea from Britain into the cold, dark depths of the Boston Harbor. The British Parliament had been gradually raising the colonists taxes, taxing anything that could possibly be taxed, continually pushing the colonists to the edge of rebellion. The TeaAct was passed on May 10, 1773, granting the British East India Trading Company a government sanctioned monopoly on tea, forcing the colonists to buy tea from Britain alone. Although it didn t create any additional taxes, the colonists were so infuriated at Parliament for recent similar impositions that the Tea Act of 1773 was the grain of rice that tipped the scale for the colonists, causing them to ruin around ВЈ18,000 worth of tea. Despite destroying so much property, the Mohawks took care not to harm an members of the crew (Schweikart and Allen, 75). The Boston Tea Partywas the correct response to the Tea Act on top of others for three reasons; it revealed the colonists oppression, it encouraged the colonists independence, and it set a great example for revolutions in the future. However, there is still some debate as to whether the Boston Tea Party was a reasonable response to the oppressive acts of the British Parliament. For example, it can be argued that the colonists could ve compromising. However, as will be seen, these are both unreasonable. (and gay people in general as a Christian) A few months ago I faced a difficult time in my life. I was homeless and I had nowhere to stay with my newborn baby. To my dismay, there was no family who would have the ability to take me in. They had helped me enough in their eyes regarding sheltering me, so I was abruptly kicked out of my grandmothers house I was staying in and face the option to find shelter in a homeless shelter. But let me back up a second. A couple weeks before my life made a turn for the worse, I met a girl on Facebook who was a photographer. We collaborated together on eventually meeting up to take pictures of my newborn, however, at that time I did not have any money because I was on maternity leave and not working. Looking at her beautiful work as a photographer, I knew one day I would have her take pictures of my baby I just did not know when. Of course, several factors impact how an individual politically identifies themselves. These factors may include family life, childhood environment, etc. One major aspect is education level. How an individual s educationlevel impacts their political self identification in the political spectrum is a well researched topic. Education influences the binary decision to participate in politics, whether it be through voting or some other form of political activism. Education level also shapes an individual s various policy positions. Most directly, education (specifically political literacy) affects how well they perceive the larger political landscape and where they fit into it. Several characters stand out in the series of poems because of the roles they played in the war, how they behaved and the acts they took to help eventually win the war for the Greeks (then known as Akhaians). This paper specifically investigates the writings in Books two, four, thirteen, sixteen and seventeen and why the events in these books are important in the overall text. Book 2 (pg. 46 47). The author, Homer, portrays a society utilizing poetic fiction. He describes of how humans directly talked and interacted with gods (Raaflaub 469). This can be seen in page forty six of Book two which starts by describing a dream that Zeus (god) had sent to Agamemnon in which Zeus promises glory in the end. The interaction with gods is also evident in page forty seven whereby a speaker asks Zeus, Apollo and Athena to give him 10 more people to help him strategize in the war. The author of the poem also uses items that were common hundreds of years ago such as fighting using ships and placing the ships in the historical Trojan War(Raaflaub 471 472). Such uses are common throughout the Iliad. Book 4 (pg. 94 106). Here the author portrays a war that was filled with fictional and overly exaggerated events/elements. How Did Yersinia Pestis Cause The Bubonic Plague For centuries, plague ravaged the people living in Asia, Africa, and Europe, leading to destructive plague outbreaks, contributing to massive panic in cities and countries where it appeared. Believed to be the only antidote, cities would dig mass burial sites to dispose of the bodies of the infected after their deaths, one of which was East Smithfield. East Smithfield was excavated in the 1980s and, thanks to the 2,400 bodies recovered from the graveyard, scientists were able to reconstruct the genome from the bacterium that caused the bubonic plague, Yersinia pestis (Callaway). Years before this discovery, Alexandre Yersin linked Yersinia pestis (Y. pestis) to the bubonic plague; many scientists then surmised that the pathogen was behind not only the Black death, but also a myriad of earlier mass pandemics... Many clues tying Y. pestis outbreaks came largely from historical accounts of symptoms, but the epidemics known to be caused by Y. pestis seemed to mild to have been caused by the same genome as that of the Black Death. Once these bonds that serve to connect the 2 strands of the DNA double helix are displaced, bacterial replication and cell viability are effectively reduced. Mammalian cells have approximately 100 times more DNA than bacterial cells. Thus, the ratio of inhibitory concentrations of silver sulfadiazine to bacterial DNA is high enough to prevent bacterial division. However, the resulting ratio of silver sulfadiazine to epithelial DNA is sufficiently low that epithelial cell regeneration is not impaired. As silver sulfadiazine (AgSd) is relatively insoluble it reacts very slowly with the chloride components of tissue exudates to form silver chloride (AgCl) and sodium sulfadiazine (NaSd). Sodium sulfadiazine thus formed being a structural analog and competitive antagonists of para aminobenzoic acid(PABA), prevent normal bacterial utilization of PABA for the synthesis of folic acid (pteroylglutamic acid) which is required for the synthesis of various precursors of DNA and RNA like thymidine... Convincing them that what they have to say is more important than anything they ve heard and that it is different than all the rest of his predecessors. Kings create their own distinctive view of reality for an immense and diverse listening, and sometimes viewing, audience. In almost every situation a king speaks to the world. However; most of the time posture or facial expression were not even of importance to royalty in this era because they delivered speeches over radio waves. • 36. New Crossover Operator Based On The Machine And Mutation... Abstract To solve the job shop scheduling problem more effectively, some genetic operators were designed. In order to increase the diversity of the population, a mixed selection operator based on the fitness value and the concentration value was given. To make full use of the characteristics of the problem itself, new crossoveroperator based on the machine and mutation operator based on the critical path were specifically designed. To find the critical path, a new algorithm to find the critical path from schedule was presented. Furthermore, a local search operator was designed, which can improve the local search ability of GA greatly. Based on all these, a hybrid genetic algorithmwas proposed and its convergence was proved. The computer simulations were made on a set of benchmark problems and the results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Keywords Hybrid genetic algorithm, Job shop scheduling, hybrid scheduler. 1. INTRODUCTION Job shop is a system that process n number of tasks on m number of machines. In this type of environment, products are made to order and in a low volume. Usually, these orders are differ in term of processing requirements, materials needed, processing time, processing sequence and setup times. Though there are many options for ones higher education degree, individuals seeking a career in archives typically pursue a degree in History or LIS because of the significant overlap between the degree and the professional competencies (Shepherd, 2010, 187). Zayid implemented a federal monarchy across the state. Unlike many other monarchies, the UAE has sustained great rule while maintaing peace with its people. The emirates each regulate the economy specific to its land and the money is given back to the citizens (Rugh, 1997, p.17). Although the federal government holds the most power, the emirates are still allowed to function with a degree of independence. Research Paper On Circumcision When having a child many questions arise such as where will we take baby while we work, how are we going to accommodate another person in the household, and the ultimate will we circumcise? For some families in the world it is not even a familiar question discussed, but unfortunately in the US it is a very prevalent practice. It saddens and almost scares me that we have become so desensitized to the thought of male circumcision of newborns. In reality it is a very horrendous unnecessary procedure that is far too over looked. Majority of the world do not participate in the circumcision of male newborns and deem it unnecessary. I believe this barbaric practice should be stopped. Hopefully in the next few decades circumcision will ultimately no longer be the decision of parents in the US, unless deemed medically necessary. Cutting off a vital piece of skin on a vulnerable, sensitive, healthy organ should be the decision of the person in question not the parent, not your body not your choice. The origins of circumcision date back farther than the bible. One theory that stuck out to me was one that originated in Africa as a way to purify people, as sex was considered to make one impure. Therefore, how would you keep people from having sex? I would assume maybe to desensitize the sex organs would be the best option, hence circumcision. The well cited source, CIRP, states that, Human sexuality was seen as dirty or impure in some societies; hence cutting off the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both positions are highly involved in maintaining the computer systems in an organization, and, in some smaller firms, the position may be handled by the same individual. However, while there are significant similarities between systems administration and network administration, there are differences in the roles as well. Basically speaking, system administration focuses on computer systems and networks, while network administration looks at maintenance and upkeep of the hardware and software that composes the network (Entrance Exams 2012, 2012). Because there is obviously an overlap between the two different job descriptions, it can be difficult to understand why it is so important for information technology professionals to differentiate between network and systems administration. However, when one understands the different roles of the two different positions, it becomes clear that, why they might overlap, and why a single individual might be able to handle the position in a small organization, there are actually substantial differences between the two positions. Particularly in a large organization, the two jobs may need to be handled by different professionals with different skill sets.
