Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember
my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the
waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see
it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on
the earth. So God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and
all life on the earth.
When Adam and Eve sinned, it did not make God happy. So in order to cleanse the earth, He had
Noah gather up two of every animal and make an arc for the animals and Noah s family. God
then began to flood the earth. Since Noah was faithful, God kept him and his family safe from the
flood. Then God put a big rainbow in the sky to remind us that He would never do that again. This
rainbow reminds us that when we are in times of trouble, God will protect us.
The whole world will never again be covered over by water, but that doesn t mean we won t have
trouble in this life. Our world is full of trouble. Some kids see this trouble every day at home.
They see it in parents who don t get along, or parents struggling to keep a job and pay the

Wahidul Nur s A Little Liar
The witness has no basis for his understanding that the Honeywell equipment that was supposed
to warn the pilot was not installed on the plane other than what he believes his attorneys have
told him. According to the witness, Wahidullah could speak every day English, and was able to
speak English more than well enough for his occupation as a pilot. As part of his training with
the Ministry of Defense and Ariana Airlines, he was taught to speak English. He was also able to
read and write English well. Azin Nuri knew Wahidullah while at the University and was familiar
with his flying abilities. Other pilots that have flown with his father were Abdul Razaq and Ziya.

He does not know how many hours he had flying this type of plane while working for Pamir. His
father flew an Antonov 32 in the military for more than 500 hours. After the accident, the witness

Pamir. They do not have tax forms in Afghanistan because the government takes its deductions

Romanticism, The Supernatural and Human Existence Essay
Romanticism, The Supernatural, and Human Existence Throughout the 18th century the Romantic
era dominated Western cultural thought. Romanticism was an enormous artistic movement that
influenced some of the many, well known artists we study today. Percy Shelley was one of those
artists. Shelley was infamous for his anarchism, atheism, and provocative egotistic views. But for
some, Shelley appeared to be a Romantic philosophical poet with beautiful works of art. Stanzas
Written in Dejection December 1818, near Naples was a poem written by Shelley that expressed
Romantic work because of its literary structure and style relevant to nature. Shelley uses the
elements of human feeling as well as natural imagery in this Romantic poem. The... Show more

of dejection in which he says, I could lie down like a tired child and weep away the life of care
Which I have borne and yet must bear Till Death like Sleep might steal on me, And I might feel
in the warm air My cheek grow cold, and hear the Sea Breathe o er my dying brain its last

his life until death sneaks upon him. Death would turn his warm cheeks cold while the waves of
the ocean continue and his consciousness would become faint. Shelley is implying that no
matter how beautiful or peaceful one s surroundings may be, if one is unhappy he will not be
able to enjoy anything around him. In the last stanza, Shelley is saying that some will be sad
that he is gone just as he will be sad when this beautiful day is over. But his emotions contrast that
he will be sad the day is over because of his attitude towards life. He is not well known by many
people and they may not approve of his life, but they may be sad that he is gone anyway. Although
the day is gone and the Sun has set, Shelley feels no emotion towards the end of the day because it
is a memory that he has apparently enjoyed. Elements of romanticism are evident in this poem
through Shelley s use of nature and the melancholy feelings associated with it. The Romantic

Normative Ethics Reflection Paper
Ethics surrounds many emotions which are not accepted by morality as not important what is
discussed about it at the moment. It is also regularly used in same manner as with morality.
Ethical concern having largely taken place with friends, family and society as well, preparing a
place for ideals such as social justice. Such Ethicsable to exist or occurs together without conflict,
like ancient Greek explanation of the good life as found in Aristotle and Plato.
The type of ethical philosophy that I am interested to me is Changing Modern Philosophy.
Inheriting good things from past is not bad. We human beings we learn from surroundings, our
nature is also with mixture of good and bad. As long as we have the talent to choose what suits us
and does not, we have to choose the one fits us. After reading the unit 2 writings of different
philosophers, I am interested with Changing Modern Philosophy. In 1958 Elisabeth Anscombe,
came with a modern philosophy which changed the way we think about normative theories. Her
critics were the moral philosophy s pre occupation by conceiving laws of ethics. This law deals
with highly regarded rules and regulations. Her critics on theories which were universally applied

the Golden rules which do not allow to lie, to harass, victimize assault or kill others is single

The Fall of Rome and Nazi Germany
Societies flourish and fall, all of them do. They fight and suffer and even kill to keep their
society alive. As a result, societies like ancient Rome and Nazi Germany, eventually fall and
crumble. Over time some of these societies recover, but are never the same again. Societies fail
due to political corruption, loss of resources and war. These obstacles are hard to overcome, but not
impossible. These obstacles weaken and tear at societies, until they finally break, turning them into
a piece of history.
Political Corruption and the fall of government are one of the main reasons why societies fail.
Lina and Doon have found many things in the City of Ember. One of them leading through the
pipeworks, to the Mayors Secret Hiding Place . They had discovered that the Mayor had been
stealing food from the citizens in Ember, when everyone else actually needed the supplies more

In the 1900 s during the time of the Great War Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany. He ruled
everything his citizens did including public communication, jobs, and especially the military. At
this time there was a large feud between races and the minorities were not treated equally. All of
these problems eventually led to the downfall of Nazi Germany. The leader gained support for his

Polycystic Kidney Disease Essay
Polycystic Kidney Disease is an inherited disease that can also form from having existing kidney
problems. It is when cysts develop in the kidney and interferes with the filtering of waste from the
blood. The cyst in the kidney can lead to inflation and kidney failure, hence as to why it is the
fourth leading cause to kidneyfailure. There are three cases of PKD, these includes Autosomal
Dominant PKD (ADPKD), Autosomal Recessive PKD (ARPKD) and Acquired Cystic Kidney
Disease (ACKD). These types of PKD are determined on how and when you get the disease or how
prone to it you are.
Autosomal Dominant PKD is most common with nearly 90% of people who form PKD, having
Autosomal Dominant. This disease is mostly developed later in life between 30 40 years of age
therefore is known as adult PKD, in saying this the disease can develop in childhood but it s very
rare. When it comes to inheriting ADPKD, it only takes one parent to have the gene of PKD and
its 50% likely the child will develop PKD as well, therefore why is it most popular as it only takes
one parent not both. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These forms simply depend on what stage in life you develop the disease at. Perinatal form,
when the child is born with it. Neonatal form, when the disease develops during the first month.
Infantile form, the disease is developed when the child is between 3 6 months of age. Juvenile
form, when the disease develops after the child is 1 year old. ADPKD can only be inherited but
both parents must be carrying the gene for this disease to develop, this is how it gets its name
Recessive PKD. If only one gene has this disease then it stay recessive as your body still has one
normal working gene, but if both genes have the recessive disease than it causes the body to have
no working copies of that particular gene, therefore it shows and forms the

The Importance Of British Literature
British literature has been a controversial subject for a very long time throughout history. The main
topics of its importance or there lack is one of the most significant debates in today s modern age.
American studies have to this day been about British literature, but is it reasonable that we should
study it? Not only is there a big debate about British literature being taught in America, but more
explicitly being taught in high school. Many literary scholars think that reasons of why or why not
coincide with the two. More scholars lean to the opinion that British literature should not be taught
in high school. Furthermore, educators justify their beliefs, but also give practical, logical, and
useful ideology that supports the theory... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Adams (2013) The age of chivalry is gone: that of sophisters, economists, and
calculators has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished forever . He said there for
himself that chivalry is no longer relevant, so why should high school student have to learn
about? This goes to prove why British literature should not be taught in high school because
chivalry is a huge component of it and chivalry is dead. In the words of Adams (2013) Chivalry
is best defined as a medieval knightly system, with its religious, moral, and social code . This
means that men should be kind noble and fair to everyone. It is, in reality, a set of moral rules
that one should follow. We hardly ever see any of this in today s society. It is hardly ever that
someone holds the door for another, or helping an elder across the street, or even walking
neighborhood dogs. These examples would be perfect for modern chivalry, but we just don t see it
in our modern world.
A Discussion on Chivalry When discussing medieval chivalry, the topic of modern chivalry
should never arise. Modern chivalry or their lack of is completely and utterly different than that of
medieval chivalry. Chivalry has changed and some may say have died out throughout the ages. It
is an entirely different world that we live in today than that of two thousand years ago. Why should
we discuss it in modern times, if there is no relation to the lack of contemporary

violence, racial discrimination, and white privileges in the text. Throughout her childhood and
adulthood Anne witnessed the murders, beatings, and major moments of civil rights
movements during her time in Mississippi. Anne`s narrative gives a vivid description of each

begins to question if Mississippi will ever overcome racial oppression. Thesis: In the text, Anne

A boy from Mississippi would have known better than that. This boy was from Chicago. Negroes
up North have no respect for people. They think they can get away with anything (Moody 220).
This quote is directed towards the Emmet Till murder that happen in Mississippi. The boy
apparently whistled at a white woman who caused him to lose his life. Mrs. Burke then
continues saying, See that boy was fourteen too. It`s a shame that he had to die so soon (Moody

was fourteen as well. Mrs. Burke threatened her with his murder basically saying that she better
stay in her place and do as she was told. Anne felt in that moment as if there was no hope for her
in Mississippi or working for Mrs. Burke. There was another moment in the text that gives the
reader a glance of hope, but only to see that despair overcomes again. In this example, Moody is
working for Linda Jean who pays her twelve dollars a week. But, Mama, she does everything. It`s
not fair. I don`t do anything around her (Moody 214). Linda Jean stated this to her mother,

Like most college students, Aisha had a different plan for how her life was going to pan out. As

even figured out what semesters she needed to take to take them in so she could graduate early
and go to medical school. She was active on campus and cheered while maintaining her 3.5 GPA.
On the weekends, she even took trips to go see friends and family. She also became an orientation

In the first half of her sophomore year in 2014 and she was still living a normal college care free
life. She was an Ambassador on campus, a parted of CAB (Campus Activities Board) as a director

Aisha was involved in a car accident which resulted in her getting a concussion. Her accident is
the event that changed Aisha s life forever. This concussion caused her to have to stop cheering
until she was cleared. The month in December right before Christmas break Aisha went back to

Dementia Research Paper
Dementia Dementia is group of neuropathological disorders, and it is progressive and incurable
disease. It is also most common in elderly people. Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning
thinking, remembering, and reasoning and behavioral abilities to such an extent that it interferes
with a person s daily life and activities. These functions include memory, language skills, visual
perception, problem solving, self management, and the ability to focus and pay attention. Some
people with dementia cannot control their emotions, and their personalities may change. Dementia
ranges in severity from the mildest stage, when it is just beginning to affect a person s functioning,
to the most severe stage, when the person must depend completely on others for basic activities of
living. The most common types of dementia are Alzheimer s disease and vascular dementia . The

Will Iran Destroy The World If Not Kept
Will Iran destroy the world if not kept in check?
Throughout the past century many nations have started to strive for nuclear weapons this arms
race has become an increasingly hostile and dangerous situation to be in. This all started around
70 years ago with the dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima by the United States of
America. From then on it has been a race for who could get the newest and best technology being
nuclear weapons. Eventually some of the top countries realized what this arms race could do and
have started to decrease their stockpiles. But there is a new threat of an arms race in the Middle
East which could prove catastrophic for the rest of the world if not kept under control by the U.S.
and other G5 nations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could lead to Iran potentially sharing its nuclear technology with extremist groups who hate
the United States and other Western nations. While Iranian missiles can not yet reach America,
Iran having a nuclear weapons capability can potentially directly threaten the United States and its
inhabitants. Iran has publicly stated it may launch a space launch vehicle by 2015 that could be
capable of intercontinental ballistic missile ranges if configured as a ballistic missile. (The
Department of Defence, 2014). On top of this threat many officials are also concerned about the
possibility of a nuclear weapon arriving in a cargo container or being launched from a boats at a
major US port. A federally mandated commission to study electromagnetic pulse attacks has
stated vast damage that could be brought by a single missile with a nuclear warhead if launched
from a ship off the US coast and detonated a couple of hundred miles in the air above America.
(Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic (EMP) Attack,
2004). Now to stray from the threats facing the United States there are the issues that nuclear
armed Iran poses to America s closest allies in the Middle East. First, our largest ally in the region,
being Israel, is most at risk because of Iranian hatred for them and the belief that Israel should be
wiped of the map Former President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. (Washington Post, 2011). Than

Judith Butler Performative Acts And Gender Constitution...
Judith Butler s essay, Performative Acts and Gender Constitution: An Essay in Phenomenology and
Feminist Theory , argues that gender identity is a performative accomplishment compelled by
social sanction and taboo . In this context, the word performative means that an act is an act simply
because of it happening, she means that an act is an act by the very fact of it happening. In this
context, genderis a construct based on the acts of one s body. Therefore one may understand this
point to mean that performative acts make up and construct, gender. Because of this, gender is not
the primary identification of an individual s identity. This in turn means that gender is rather an
identity which is ever changing in it s nature. This construction is always done through physical
attributes and changes as time goes by. Therefore one may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To make clearer sense of it, I attempted to analyse William s article in light of Butler s main point:
Gender is performative. The former is largely focused on race, particularly racial relations and
differences within the feminist discourse. The crux of William s argument is essentially that there
is a misunderstanding between black feminists and their white counterparts. This is of significant
relevance with concerns to the theory created by the white feminists= Williams claims that it is
because of the over shadowing of patriarchy over the theory, it is inherently tinged with previously
established ideas which may fall into the traditional structure of socially constructed gender roles.
William s therefore accuses white feminists of perpetuating white male patriarchy. Whilst she may
be indirectly stating this, she still raises the question of whether or not the feminist movement is
one of a united

Sarcoidosis is a rare multi organ granulomatous inflammatory disease that can affect virtually any

When considering infectious agents and environmental exposures such as insecticides and

Comparing Miller And Azurdia s View Of Prayer
First, Miller s incitement that we must learn to pray as a child is profoundly encouraging as it
brings prayer to common ground, making it simple to grasp. Most of us can relate to how we
interact and talk with our fathers (or some father figure). We can remember asking for help,
crying out in desperation, saying thank you for good gifts, etc. Miller s encouragement reminds
me of Psalms 131: O Lord, my heart is not lifted up, my eyes are not raised too high; I do not
occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my
soul, like a weaned child with its mother [italics added]; my soul is like the weaned child that is
with me. Israel, hope in the Lord from this time on and forevermore. Sometimes we can get so

Second, as it relates to how Miller s encouragement to childlike prayer relates to Azurdia s view
that prayer is not just talking to God , it would be poorly gathered conclusion to say that Miller s
fundamental point is in opposition Azurdia s view. Ultimately, Miller speaks to the manner or
mindset in which we are to approach God in prayer, while Azurdia address the substance of our
prayers. Consider Miller s words: Less mature Christians have little need to prayer [...]
Surprisingly, mature Christians feel less mature on the inside. When they hear Jesus say, Apart
from me you can do nothing (John 15:5), they nod in agreement [...] That s why strong Christians
pray more. (Miller, 57 59). In this you can quickly see that Miller views prayer much more than
mere childlike babbling (cf. Matt.

The Existence of UFOs Essay
Do UFO s Exist or Not
For half a century the subject of UFO has been discussed by scientists, ecologists, politicians, and
common people around the world. It seems paradoxical, but the main question of their discussion
concerns existence or non existence of UFO itself, so many people is not sure that the very subject
of their debate really exists. I share the opinion of those who do not believe in UFO saying that this
phenomenon has not been scientifically proved, and everything its adherents operates is conjecture
and fantasy, and disconnected stories of those who allegedly have seen UFO are far from scientific
explanation of the event.
On the one hand, the very name UFO, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some scientists and psychologists specialized in the study of past life memories in children, and
carefully studied the use of interviews with witnesses as the main method of researching these
cases, deny the true nature of such evidences. Taking into account the psychological explanation of
this problem, it is possible to summarize that many of the persons who witnesses UFO live in the
world of dreams and have some psychological problems, and the desire to be an extraordinary one
push them to believe that witnessed UFO (Thompson, 2005).
In reality, many scientists were skeptical of both UFOs and of alien life in general; they contended
that interstellar travel would be easy for advanced civilizations, so the lack of overt contact
disproved alien existence. Yet most UFO opponents do believe alien life exists out in the universe,
just not here. So they defend the near impossibility of interstellar travel, which contradicts a
considerable portion of the scientific community (Thompson, 1990).
This fact allows reject evidence that would otherwise confirm the presence of a solid object under
intelligent control with propulsion irreproducible by human technology (Thompson, 1990). For
instance, when a certain degree of physical substance for an airplane is obtained for an
unconventional disk shaped vehicle, this degree of evidence is accepted for the airplane but
rejected for the anomalous vehicle (National UFO reported Center, 2005).

Social Tension Between Babo And Cereno
When Captain Amasa Delano visits the San Dominick, he notices the tension between Babo and
Don Benito Cereno while Babo is shaving Benito Cereno s beard, not unaffected by the close
right of the gleaming steel, Don Benito nervously shuddered (Melville 74). The tension between
Babo and Cereno is ironic because Captain Delano does not understand what is actually going on
between the two characters. As the social tension between Babo and Cereno rises, the aesthetic
tension created by Melville between Delano and the ship rises as well. Melville as a writer creates
tension, and that tension is rooted in irony. The close reading of the shaving scene shows how
Melville uses irony to contribute to the social tension between the two characters and... Show more

Tax Reform Persuasive Speech
It amazes me to sit before parliament and witness the ignorance among my fellow noblemen,
bishops, knights, and burgesses who seem to rightfully believe the best course of action for
England to take, is to increase taxes in order to sustain a military buildup. We are some of the most
well educated individuals of this kingdom, yet many of you are so caught up in your own
petulance, that you fail to realize just how unrealizable this legislation is. Englands defenses are
well kept, and have proven time and time again to be able to withstand foreign aggression. Rather
than focusing on tax reform that would only harm the hard working laborers of this nation, we
should instead focus our efforts towards maintaining low tax rates for these individuals while we
continue to revive our economy. There are few in this nation who could healthy support and pay
for this tax, especially after the rise of enclosures in 1517. The only way to do this is to underwrite
princely ambition, for passion is a dangerous trait which more often than not leads us astray from
what is truly important. The current state of England s defense is more than optimal. We have
numerous castles which have withstood the brunt of invasion and protected our great nations. Take

The Myth Behind the Singing and Chirping of Birds
Since the beginning of time, people have always wondered why birds sing and chirp. The
answer lies in The Legend of the Birds. Here is how it goes... Once upon a time, in a land far away,
there was a tree that reached to the heavens. Inside this tree there lived all the birds in the world of
different breeds, color, shapes, and sizes. Now each birdlived peacefully in the tree speaking the
language that humans do today. The flock of the birds included laws about obeying the rules,
how to act, and the most important rule, which was to never travel to the land of the Pandas,
Pandaria. There was a bird by the name of Duck who loathed these rules because he thought it
was unfair to not be able to travel to the land of the Pandas. After all, what would a panda do to
them? So it all started when Duck broke the law of the birds. Duck had always been curious what
is at the land of the Pandas. He decided the rule of the birds was dumb and decided to go and check
out the Panda s place. So Duck flew a long way from his home until he finally reached a large area
filled with bamboo. The large pointed bamboo made Duck uncertain for a little while, but then he
decided he wasn t about to chicken out and flew right in. Right on time, Duck noticed some
Panda maidens and sneakily flew over them without being seen. Out of the corner of his eye,
Duck noticed a grand room guarded by many Panda warriors. He decided to check it out without
making any noise; he flew right over the warriors

Gender Stereotypes In Macbeth
Gender stereotypes are bound by the societal norms of what it means to be a man and a woman.
As a playwright ahead of his time, Shakespeare exhibits a feminist perspective in Macbeth by
scrutinizing gender roles and the parts they play in society. In Shakespeare s eleventh century
tragedy Macbeth, after Macbethreceives a life altering prophecy by the Weird Sisters, Lady
Macbeth successfully achieves her goal of becoming the Queen of Scotland by manipulating her
one recourse to greatness, her husband Macbeth. This experience is one that alters Macbeth and
Lady Macbeth s genderroles and, consequently, leads to their demise. Through the fall of its two
central characters, Macbeth illustrates deleterious gender stereotypes such as the traditional ideas
of masculinity and femininity that persist in society today.
In the beginning of Macbeth, Macbeth carries far more feminine characteristics than Lady
Macbeth herself, contradicting the traditional gender stereotypes of eleventh century Scotland.
Following the Weird Sisters prophecy that Macbeth will one day sit upon the throne, Macbeth
strifes with his task of killing King Duncan. This frightens Macbeth as in an early soliloquy, he
proclaims, let not light see my black and deep desires. / The eye wink at the hand; yet let that be
(1.4.58 60). Though Macbeth is aware of what he must do, he is hesitant to commit King Duncan
s murder, as he was once a steadfast combat warrior for King Duncan. A wounded captain reports
to King Duncan that Macbeth unseamed [Macdonwald] from the nave to th chops, / And fix d his
head upon our battlements[,] Duncan exclaims, O valiant cousin, worthy gentleman! (1.2.24 26).
This confirms that Macbeth would go as far as brutally murdering another individual, specifically
Macdonwald, the leader of the Norwegian forces in battle, to pledge his loyalty to Scotland. when
pondering whether or not to murder Duncan, Macbeth reassesses, I am his kinsman and his subject,
/ Strong both against the deed; then, as his host, / Who should against his murderer shut the door,
/ Not bear the knife myself (1.7.14 16). By hesitating to kill King Duncan, Macbeth indicates
weakness in his ability to murder; far from his actions on the battlefield,

The Importance Of Interdependence In The Bean Trees
Independence is a common societal value in American society. Many feel the need to be able to
create a great life all on their own. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, however, contrasts
independence and dependence with interdependence, two or more people relying on each other.
Kingsolver values interdependence the most as shown through her characters Taylor, Turtle, and
Lou Ann; these characters all try for independence or dependence before realizing that
interdependence is the right balance of the two. Complete dependence does not work for Lou Ann,
who struggles to know who she is without her husband, or Turtle, who cannot express herself after
becoming an orphan. At the beginning of the novel, Lou Ann says that she and her husband, Angel,

Here, Kingsolver shows that independence is imperfect because if you make a mistake there is
no one there to help you back up. In the end, Kingsolver proves interdependence is the best way
to survive by showing Taylor, Lou Ann, and Turtle as a family; she also uses rhizobia as a
symbol for interdependence at work. When Taylor and Lou Ann first meet, they instantly find a
connection. Taylor helps Lou Ann to become more confident by encouraging her to speak her
mind about how the door to the strip club makes her uncomfortable. Also, she tells Lou Ann to
stop putting herself down and thinking she is not as smart as Taylor or that Angel left because
she got drunk once. In return, Lou Ann helps Taylor by taking care of Turtle and supporting
Taylor as she learns how to be a good mother. Turtle, as a result of feeling loved and safe within
her new family, begins to speak and laugh. In return, Turtle gives Taylor a sense of purpose. The
results of this interdependence are all positive. Lou Ann becomes confident enough to get a job
she loves at a salsa factory, Taylor decides she wants to adopt Turtle, and Turtle is able to put her
past behind her by getting closure with how her mother died in

its local operations to act in the image of the market locally and yet can act in a truly

Vodafone is a global company as its sourcing and supply chain activities are transferred to be
entirely global for the major part of its investment, while services remain local (Ibbott, 2007).
Globalization does not mean to open operations and branches in other countries but to make its
operations global, not directed by the head office located in the parent country.

establish the significance of binge drinking within the community college setting, consider what
the causes are and how to change the thought processes that are intertwined within this culture

Essay about Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette
FMM 1200
Marie Antoinette
Maria Theresa of Austria thought she was sealing a favorable alliance between France and Austria
(New World Encyclopedia) by having her daughter, Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna, marry Louis
XVI, but she was actually unknowingly giving her a chance to make fashion history.
Life History
When Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna wed Louis XVI, she was told to leave everything behind;
her Austrian clothes, possessions, servants, her animal and even her name was changed to Marie
Antoinette. She was then dressed in French clothing and presented with jewels including an
elaborate diamond necklace which had belonged to Anne of Austria and pieces which had also
belonged to Mary Queen of Scots and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She wore the newest looks from Rose Bertin, among them the provocative robe a la polonaise,
with its bosom enhancing bodice and its billowy, ankle baring skirts, the whole crowned by a
pouf, a 3 foot mountain of powdered hair decked with plumes, veils, and other objects (Hollander,
2006).
Another dress of style she came to wear after becoming a mother is known as chemise a la reine.
She stopped wearing all the glitz and glam that she had been known for and opting for a simpler
look in her outfits. She began wearing a light, shapeless dress called a gaulle. It was made of
layers of simple muslin, loose fitting and shaped by a sash tied around the waist. It also didn t
have the usual panniers under the skirt, which were often so extreme that door frames had to be
widened to accommodate dresses. It meant the material could mold around the legs, also shocking
at the time (Winterman, 2012). Critics of this type of dress said she looked as though she were
wearing just undergarments.
In conclusion, Marie Antoinette was not only a prominent figure in history, but she could also be
noted as an important mention in fashion history as well. She paved the way for a new type of
look and style that others during the time would not have ever thought of doing.

The Impact Of Digital Technology On Society
With new technical breakthroughs happening every minute, technology is advancing far beyond
our imagination. The internet has become increasingly accessible with new smartphones and
smart devices, and with them came new social media applications. Social media has now
become a large factor in the lives of many people across the globe as a means of finding and
distributing information. People spend more and more time on the internet, and less time having
face to face human interactions. Instead of human interactions and networking, popularity and
social status is now based on friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, and Instagram likes .
The lack of meaningful social interactions has caused an increase in mental health issues such as
social anxiety and depression, and adversely impacts human society. Digital technology
negatively affects happiness because it causes loneliness, mental illness and a disconnection from
the real world. Social platforms negatively affect happiness because it causes loneliness. As
social media becomes more pronounced in our daily lives, the further apart we grow from each
other physically and the closer we become on the internet. A person might have 2,000 friends on
Facebook but in reality has no real friends to connect with on a more personal level. The phrase,
your real friends, captures the anxieties that social media have produced: the fears that Facebook
along with other social media platforms is interfering with our real friendships,

Queen Elizabeth Essay
Queen Elizabeth was born on September 7, in 1533 to a royal couple by the name of Henry VIII
and Anne Boleyn. She pertained a strong personality and strong political skills in overlooking
marriage proposals and intensely flirting with many available suitors. She reigned over England
without a king or children (Britannia: Elizabeth 1). Her father was known for the execution of his
wives. The king had announced that any daughter would be illegitimate to the line of succession
because his upcoming sons would be highly favorable to the throne (Thomas, Heather). Anne
Boleynwas killed by the king for not providing him with a son, but a daughter who would live to

Whether this was true or not, Elizabeth was arrested and put in prison. She was moved around to

husband, Philip of Spain, called Elizabeth out of prison to develop a friendship with her, since she
would take the throne when Queen Mary I would die (Putatunda, Rita).
According to Green, this coronation to the throne took place on January 15, 1559. The new
queen started to take advantage of all the new opportunities. She started horseback riding more.
She also took up hunting and hawking and enjoyed watching jousts and theatre (Green, Robert

reestablished a Protestant Church and became the Supreme Governor of the Church of England,
which was to please those attending (Thomas, Heather). Britannica states that she was a
Conservative Protestant. She liked traditional style of worship and did not believe in executing
people for their religious beliefs (Britannia Encyclopedia Elizabeth I). Marriage proposals
became a daily routine. Regard her beliefs for the matrimony; she used the proposals to frighten
enemies or to even draw them in. However, she came close to marriage twice in her reign
(Putatunda, Rita). One of which was a near proposal with Robert

Out-Of-Hospital Research Paper
The practice of out of hospital emergency medical care has changed considerably over the last 120
years [1]. Started in the early 1900s, ambulance services in the Commonwealth countries were
originally small teams of volunteers trained by charitable organisations such as St John Ambulance
who mostly responded to and provide transportation for work traumatic and environmental injuries
caused by increasing industrialisation [2]. In the majority of countries all over the world especially
in the western countries nowadays, emergency medical systems have evolved into an organized
healthsystem that provide the very first emergency medical response to members of the community
who are in an acute health crisis [3]. Resulted from this organisational model of pre hospital
emergency medical care are different paramedical roles in clinical practice requiring different
educations and trainings as well as experience and competency of the clinical skills. One of the

gone. Houses are now replaced by burning balls of fire. Grass and trees now blackened. We didn t

where our school was supposed to be, it was gone. For a moment we mourned together, knowing if

Essay The Evolution of Displacement Hulls
Displacement hulls were first used at the turn of the century when internal combustion engines
were large and heavy. Morley S. Smith lesliefield.com. When a displacement hull moves through
the water, it pushes water off to the sides. Most displacement hulls are long with a narrow bow.
These hulls are the easiest to maneuver at low speeds. Semi displacement hulls are slightly more
flat. Semi displacement hulls are identified by three factors: 1. The shape of the run. 2. The
displacement length ratio. 3. The amount of V or draught of the hulland they generally have a hard
chine or tightly rounded bilge. Pelly Marine. Semi displacement hulls are versatile and combine
speed and seaworthiness. Planing hulls are hard chinned and have a... Show more content on

Also they can be very unstable. Stepped hulls can also be the most thrilling type of boat because of
the unnatural design and the feeling going so fast with the bow pointing more downward which
differs from many other types of boats.
The first type of speed boat hull was a rounded bottom displacement hull. These hulls were also
usually long, narrow and had a pointed bow. This caused the boat move faster and for the boat
to be able to maneuver better. Shortly after the displacement hulls were starting to be used,
stepped hulls and planing hulls were introduced. All three of these types had different speeds
and different ways of riding through the water. When the speed boat was first introduced, the
hulls were more for a smooth ride rather than a crazy ride, mixing the best of safety and speed.
Of these three early hull designs, the fastest was the stepped hull. Stepped hulls can be expected
of move 10 15 percent faster than a displacement hull or a planing hull. naval design.co In the
early years of speed boats, a stepped hull could reach speeds up to 100 miles per hour. No matter
what type of hull, the length differed. Most differed from 20 to 40 feet , with some going up to
60 feet and some being as small as 12 feet. As size differed with length, the same can be said with
the beam. One thing different from length is that the beam differs more between types of hulls. An
example is that stepped hulls

involving a public company that has recently established a large restructuring reserve. What audit
objectives would you establish for that reserve? For each audit objective you list, identify audit
evidence that you would collect to help achieve that objective.
When a company restructures its operations, GAAP requires that the company recognizes the cost
of restructuring and associated liabilities. The auditor should examine restructuring charges and
reserves by reviewing FASB pronouncements and EITF statements to ensure that everything is
stated correctly. The auditor should also review how the company estimated the reserve account
and review actions taken by management that indicate that the restructuring is moving along as
planned. Auditors should test estimates by review restructuring documents and mathematically test
those estimates. Finally, the auditor should develop a conclusion as to the reasonableness of
liability and appropriateness of the company s accounts.

I believe that I do merit selection for NHS. One of the main reasons that I believe that I should
be selected for the National Honor Society is my work outside of school hours. Outside of
school I keep score for basketball and am very heavily involved at my church The House

including the Cabool Seniors Rock 5k run three years ago. At school events I represent Mansfield

Disadvantages Of Service Quality
Quality as one basic dimension of competitive priorities is very important for companies, although
different functions such as manufacturing, marketing and engineering have different views of
quality definitions, Garvin in 1987 clarified a framework of quality which includes eight
dimensions, performance, features, reliability, conformance, durability, serviceability, aesthetics
and perceived quality (Ward, et al, 1998). Definitely, companies could choose different one or more
above dimensions strive to develop quality to be competitive priority.
For different types of companies, quality might refer to quality of products or quality of service.
Compares with quality of products, service quality is much more difficult to measure because
service is intangible and acts and processes only existing in time. In addition, service has unique
characteristic which cannot be found in products, such as customer influence, inseparability of
production and consumption, heterogeneity, perishability and labor intensity (Nie Kellogg, 1999).
Even though, there are still many practitioners and academics are keen on measuring service
quality because it has already emerged as a key strategic issue. Companies want to better
understand service quality, and to establish methods for improving quality to achieve competitive
advantage and build customer loyalty (Abdullah, 2006). Based on the importance of service quality,
an increasing number of literatures and companies pay attention to measuring

Dogtown And Z-Boys Subcultures
The subcultures have often been considered as the phenomenon that stands out from the society
and contradicts it. Nevertheless, the emergence of any type of subcultures is to a high extent
stimulated and supported by the social factors as well as historical ones. The events that triggered
the emergence and the development of the Z Boys group and their subculture that later transformed
into the complete cultureand ideology among the American youth. The documentary Dogtown and

The poverty that was spreading throughout the country accompanied by the search for recognition

swimming pools for the skateboarding and the growing popularity of the countersport among the
youth have also highly contributed to the creation of what later developed into an ideology. The
historical factors provided external opportunities for the development of the sports direction. At the

Chimpanzee s and Tool Use
Introduction:
Chimpanzees are part of the non human primate group. Though we share a common ancestor,
evolution has pushed us in different directions. However this common ancestor causes humans to
be curious about these creatures. As discussed in Jane Goodall s video Among the Wild
Chimpanzees we were once considered to be human because of our use of tools but once we
observed these non human primates using tools, this perception was changed forever. The question
now at hand is if having the chimpanzees that we study in captivity makes a difference between
studying wild chimps. These interesting creatures can be found naturally in the rainforests of Africa.
Development of tool use:
Tool use is rare in animals, and the chimpanzees stand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tool use: In the article Socioecological Influences on Tool Use in Captive Chimpanzees by
Maura L. Celli, Satoshi Hirata, and Masaki Tomonaga the experiment of honey fishing is
discussed. The chimps were placed outside provided with a bottle of honey but no tool. Most
were able to create a tool and were successful. This shows that both wild and captive chimpanzees
have the capability to manufacture tools, observe how to use them and ultimately have some sort
of unique thought because at one point a single chimp had to commit the act of tool
manufacturing in the first place in both captivity and in the wild. In the article Handedness for
tool use in captive chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes): sex differences, performance, heritability and
comparison to the wild by W.D. Hopkins, J.L. Russell, J.A. Schaeffer, M. Gardner and S.J.
Schapiro the differences in tool use and leaning among chimps in the wild versus captivity shows
that captive chimps may have a tendency to be right handed and use the right hand for tool making
where as in the wild there is no particular tendency. The article aslo says that the reason for the right
handedness of captive chimpanzees has to do with the fact that they are being raised in a
predominantly right handed human world and that their tendency to learn from

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. So God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth. When Adam and Eve sinned, it did not make God happy. So in order to cleanse the earth, He had Noah gather up two of every animal and make an arc for the animals and Noah s family. God then began to flood the earth. Since Noah was faithful, God kept him and his family safe from the flood. Then God put a big rainbow in the sky to remind us that He would never do that again. This rainbow reminds us that when we are in times of trouble, God will protect us. The whole world will never again be covered over by water, but that doesn t mean we won t have trouble in this life. In the last stanza, Shelley is saying that some will be sad that he is gone just as he will be sad when this beautiful day is over. But his emotions contrast that he will be sad the day is over because of his attitude towards life. He is not well known by many people and they may not approve of his life, but they may be sad that he is gone anyway. Although the day is gone and the Sun has set, Shelley feels no emotion towards the end of the day because it is a memory that he has apparently enjoyed. Elements of romanticism are evident in this poem through Shelley s use of nature and the melancholy feelings associated with it. The Romantic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result, societies like ancient Rome and Nazi Germany, eventually fall and crumble. Over time some of these societies recover, but are never the same again. Societies fail due to political corruption, loss of resources and war. These obstacles are hard to overcome, but not impossible. These obstacles weaken and tear at societies, until they finally break, turning them into a piece of history. Political Corruption and the fall of government are one of the main reasons why societies fail. Lina and Doon have found many things in the City of Ember. This goes to prove why British literature should not be taught in high school because chivalry is a huge component of it and chivalry is dead. In the words of Adams (2013) Chivalry is best defined as a medieval knightly system, with its religious, moral, and social code . This means that men should be kind noble and fair to everyone. Judith Butler s essay, Performative Acts and Gender Constitution: An Essay in Phenomenology and Feminist Theory , argues that gender identity is a performative accomplishment compelled by social sanction and taboo . In this context, the word performative means that an act is an act simply because of it happening, she means that an act is an act by the very fact of it happening. In this context, genderis a construct based on the acts of one s body. Therefore one may understand this point to mean that performative acts make up and construct, gender. This is of significant relevance with concerns to the theory created by the white feminists= Williams claims that it is because of the over shadowing of patriarchy over the theory, it is inherently tinged with previously established ideas which may fall into the traditional structure of socially constructed gender roles. • 24. Gender Stereotypes In Macbeth Gender stereotypes are bound by the societal norms of what it means to be a man and a woman. As a playwright ahead of his time, Shakespeare exhibits a feminist perspective in Macbeth by scrutinizing gender roles and the parts they play in society. In Shakespeare s eleventh century tragedy Macbeth, after Macbethreceives a life altering prophecy by the Weird Sisters, Lady Macbeth successfully achieves her goal of becoming the Queen of Scotland by manipulating her one recourse to greatness, her husband Macbeth. This experience is one that alters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s genderroles and, consequently, leads to their demise. Through the fall of its two central characters, Macbeth illustrates deleterious gender stereotypes such as the traditional ideas of masculinity and femininity that persist in society today. In the beginning of Macbeth, Macbeth carries far more feminine characteristics than Lady Macbeth herself, contradicting the traditional gender stereotypes of eleventh century Scotland. Following the Weird Sisters prophecy that Macbeth will one day sit upon the throne, Macbeth strifes with his task of killing King Duncan. This frightens Macbeth as in an early soliloquy, he proclaims, let not light see my black and deep desires. / The eye wink at the hand; yet let that be (1.4.58 60). Though Macbeth is aware of what he must do, he is hesitant to commit King Duncan s murder, as he was once a steadfast combat warrior for King Duncan. • 25. The Importance Of Interdependence In The Bean Trees Independence is a common societal value in American society. Many feel the need to be able to create a great life all on their own. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, however, contrasts independence and dependence with interdependence, two or more people relying on each other. Kingsolver values interdependence the most as shown through her characters Taylor, Turtle, and Lou Ann; these characters all try for independence or dependence before realizing that interdependence is the right balance of the two. Complete dependence does not work for Lou Ann, who struggles to know who she is without her husband, or Turtle, who cannot express herself after becoming an orphan. In the end, Kingsolver proves interdependence is the best way to survive by showing Taylor, Lou Ann, and Turtle as a family; she also uses rhizobia as a symbol for interdependence at work. When Taylor and Lou Ann first meet, they instantly find a connection. Taylor helps Lou Ann to become more confident by encouraging her to speak her mind about how the door to the strip club makes her uncomfortable. Also, she tells Lou Ann to stop putting herself down and thinking she is not as smart as Taylor or that Angel left because she got drunk once. In return, Lou Ann helps Taylor by taking care of Turtle and supporting Taylor as she learns how to be a good mother. Turtle, as a result of feeling loved and safe within her new family, begins to speak and laugh. In return, Turtle gives Taylor a sense of purpose. The results of this interdependence are all positive. Essay about Marie Antoinette Marie Antoinette FMM 1200 Marie Antoinette Maria Theresa of Austria thought she was sealing a favorable alliance between France and Austria (New World Encyclopedia) by having her daughter, Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna, marry Louis XVI, but she was actually unknowingly giving her a chance to make fashion history. Life History When Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna wed Louis XVI, she was told to leave everything behind; her Austrian clothes, possessions, servants, her animal and even her name was changed to Marie Antoinette. She wore the newest looks from Rose Bertin, among them the provocative robe a la polonaise, with its bosom enhancing bodice and its billowy, ankle baring skirts, the whole crowned by a pouf, a 3 foot mountain of powdered hair decked with plumes, veils, and other objects (Hollander, 2006). Another dress of style she came to wear after becoming a mother is known as chemise a la reine. She stopped wearing all the glitz and glam that she had been known for and opting for a simpler look in her outfits. She began wearing a light, shapeless dress called a gaulle. It was made of layers of simple muslin, loose fitting and shaped by a sash tied around the waist. It also didn t have the usual panniers under the skirt, which were often so extreme that door frames had to be widened to accommodate dresses. It meant the material could mold around the legs, also shocking at the time (Winterman, 2012). Critics of this type of dress said she looked as though she were wearing just undergarments. In conclusion, Marie Antoinette was not only a prominent figure in history, but she could also be noted as an important mention in fashion history as well. She paved the way for a new type of look and style that others during the time would not have ever thought of doing. References Contributors. (2008, September 2). The internet has become increasingly accessible with new smartphones and smart devices, and with them came new social media applications. Social media has now become a large factor in the lives of many people across the globe as a means of finding and distributing information. People spend more and more time on the internet, and less time having face to face human interactions. Instead of human interactions and networking, popularity and social status is now based on friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, and Instagram likes . The lack of meaningful social interactions has caused an increase in mental health issues such as social anxiety and depression, and adversely impacts human society. Digital technology negatively affects happiness because it causes loneliness, mental illness and a disconnection from the real world. Social platforms negatively affect happiness because it causes loneliness. As social media becomes more pronounced in our daily lives, the further apart we grow from each other physically and the closer we become on the internet. A person might have 2,000 friends on Facebook but in reality has no real friends to connect with on a more personal level. The question now at hand is if having the chimpanzees that we study in captivity makes a difference between studying wild chimps. These interesting creatures can be found naturally in the rainforests of Africa. Development of tool use: Tool use is rare in animals, and the chimpanzees stand ... Celli, Satoshi Hirata, and Masaki Tomonaga the experiment of honey fishing is discussed. The chimps were placed outside provided with a bottle of honey but no tool. Most were able to create a tool and were successful. This shows that both wild and captive chimpanzees have the capability to manufacture tools, observe how to use them and ultimately have some sort of unique thought because at one point a single chimp had to commit the act of tool manufacturing in the first place in both captivity and in the wild. In the article Handedness for tool use in captive chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes): sex differences, performance, heritability and comparison to the wild by W.D. Hopkins, J.L. Russell, J.A. Schaeffer, M. Gardner and S.J. Schapiro the differences in tool use and leaning among chimps in the wild versus captivity shows that captive chimps may have a tendency to be right handed and use the right hand for tool making where as in the wild there is no particular tendency. The article aslo says that the reason for the right handedness of captive chimpanzees has to do with the fact that they are being raised in a predominantly right handed human world and that their tendency to learn from ...
