Essay On Trip
Crafting an essay on the topic of a trip may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as one might
think that narrating personal experiences or sharing travel anecdotes requires minimal effort.
However, the difficulty lies in transcending mere recollection and transforming the narrative into
a compelling piece of writing that engages readers on a deeper level.
The challenge begins with selecting the right angle for the essay. A trip could encompass a
myriad of themes – cultural experiences, personal growth, unexpected adventures, or even the
impact on one's perspective. Deciding on a focal point that resonates with the audience while
maintaining the authenticity of the narrative requires thoughtful consideration.
The structure of the essay poses another obstacle. Weaving a coherent and engaging storyline
demands a balance between chronological order and thematic organization. Transitioning
smoothly from one phase of the trip to another, while maintaining a cohesive flow, requires
careful planning and meticulous attention to detail.
Additionally, conveying the essence of the journey goes beyond simple description. The writer
must skillfully employ descriptive language, engaging metaphors, and vivid imagery to transport
the reader into the experience. Creating an emotional connection with the audience involves
skillful word choice and an understanding of the nuances of storytelling.
Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding the trap of clichГ©s. With countless essays on travel
experiences available, it is crucial to infuse a unique perspective or a personal touch to stand out.
This requires a level of introspection and creativity that elevates the essay from a mundane
travelogue to a thought-provoking piece of literature.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of a trip may seem straightforward, but the real
difficulty lies in the art of storytelling. Crafting a compelling narrative that captivates the reader,
choosing the right theme, structuring the essay effectively, and avoiding clichГ©s are all aspects
that contribute to the complexity of this task.

Book Review
Author: Jung Chang
Title: Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China
Publication: Simon and Schuster, London, 1991
1. Main Thesis
In Wild Swans, Jung Chang describes the life of three generations of woman in her
family. Beginning in the year 1909 and ending in present time, it gives an insight into
almost eighty years of the cultural history of China. Jung Chang has said in a
interview that her intention in writing Wild Swans was to show how the Chinese
people, and in particular the women in her family, fought tenaciously and
courageously against impossible odds.
The book is a testimony to the strength and determination of her grandmother, her
mother, and herself and their resourcefulness in recreating themselves during ... Show

De hong sees communism becoming increasingly important to many people but has
yet to make up her own mind about the situation. She continues to watch those in
power, including those over the teaching school where she now resides. When she
learns that a favorite teacher and then her best friend, Cousin Hu, had been
Communists and had been either chased from the city or executed for their political
beliefs, she makes up her mind that she, too, will become a Communist.
Chapter 5:
De hong asks to be a part of the communist movement but she s found too young. A
short time later, she begins distributing Communist literature. The economic situation
is so bad that the family has no savings and Dr. Xia, now nearly eighty, is worried
about what will happen when he dies. Extortion is rampant, food is scarce, and the
money that does exist has almost no value. De hong becomes friendly with a
Kuomintang general. Using his military freedom, they travel outside the walled city
occasionally and De hong leaves messages for her Communist counterparts.. The
Communists then start regular bombardment of the city, including one dud shell that
crashes into the home of De hong s family.

With the passing of the airline deregulation act of 1978, airline carriers were now

Essay On Dual Federalism
Federalism is a division of power in a central government and their regional
governments.(Learners.org, Federalism US vs. The States). The first system of
federalism is dual federalism. Dual federalism is the state government has their own
responsibilities and the national government has their own responsibilities. Dual
federalismwas mainly based around the Tenth Amendment which states that anything
that isn t in the Constitution are reserved to the states. It is kind of like a tug of war,
the state governments are on one side and the federal government on the other. The
rope is pulled back and forth, and at one time one side sees to be winning, but then
the rope gets pulled back to the other side. In the dual federalism, each government...

In the past, the Congress and the House have forced the state governments to meet in
certain enviromental standards. (Sparknotes Editors, Federalism, page 2)
In the early 1970s, the US knew that they needed a change in federalism so they
called it new federalism. New federalism gave the states some power while knowing
that the federal government is the highest power. At this time, the state government
regained some power. Richard Nixon started to support this type of federalism during
his presidency, and every president since Nixon has continued to support new
federalism.(Sparknotes Editors,Federalism,page 1)
Examples of when the National Government has withheld funding to the States to
making them comply was in World War II when the people were relying on the
federal money and when the government was relying on the states to follow federal
policies. ( Sparknotes Editors, Federalism, page 1). Another example is when the
government gave out block grants to give money on a fairly good purpose with no
excuses. (Sparknotes Editors, Federalism, page

Gay Is the New Black in America
As I was browsing the internet I discovered this article (McWhorter, 2013) comparing
the gay community with the African American community. At first glance, I felt how
can the two be compared? So, I decided to give this article a read. The purpose of the
article was to bring attention to the civil rights movement of today dealing with the
homosexual community s civil rights and how it compares to the historic civil rights
movements made by the African Americancommunity from 1955 1968. In my mind
as an African American, my pride was not allowing me to see the comparison for
what it really was. African Americans have endured a longer, more violent time
frame of inequality than those of the gay community. This is how I see and feel it
to be. I had to do some more research to see exactly how this era s civil rights
movement became an understudy for comparison to the civil rights movements by
black Americans during the time span of 1955 1968. Us as African Americans need
to support the gay civil rights movements of today because we should understand
and realize the struggles we went through and help this nation become more equal.
Gay is the new black in America, not all aspects of the two relate such as the level of
violence endured by the African Americans as they fought to obtain equal rights but
the fight to be seen equal is the same.
The growth that the African American community has accomplished is a historic one
that the gay community wishes to achieve as well. Although

Independence Day Ideology
Independence Day is an interesting film that is full of cohesive visual political
and cultural meanings that represent the United States of America. Through its
major genres of war and disaster its able to attract all categories of audience and
bring out the true colours to the world that USA is composed off. This paper
through these two common cinematic genres will reveal an interesting set of
political ideologies that most Americans represent and pursue when approaching
the people and countries that live in this world. Politics plays a heavy role in the
lives of American people and is itself a well established subject and industry that
the country relies on for good functioning and staying a world leader. However,
there seem to be many problems with the ideology they follow which leads to ruin
of their infrastructure and the lives of people who live in other countries and those
problems can be discovered in the film Independence Day. One of the main problems
in the American political system that is shown with in the film when approaching a
complicated case is being unintelligent and aggressive at the same time. An example
of this political weakness is in the scene when the American military attacks the alien
battleship only to discover that their destructive weapons were neutralized by their
forcefield which eventually leads to death of their soldiers. From the very beginning
when they arrive the main government is able to know from the first look of their
ship that that

When you are out shopping for a wine, you will see wines priced from a few
dollars to thousands of dollars. The often asked question is, can you taste the
difference or are they really worth the added costs. Some people have a dollar limit
on what they will spend for a wine where others will pay top dollar. The most
important detail is to evaluate the winebased on one s own palate. The proper
technique for evaluating a wine is as follows:
Evaluate the color and appearance of the wine.
Gently swirl your glass to aerate or open up the wine and to get the aroma and
bouquet from the wine.
Take a fair amount of wine into your mouth allowing all of your taste buds to come
into contact with the wine to provide information on flavors, acid levels, etc.

The Molly Dooker Boxer was a thick heavily extracted fruit bomb wine that had a
long lingering finish. The R Winery First Class was more subtle, reminding me more

Jonathan Edward Puritan Sermons Analysis
Jonathan Edwards was the most prominent and powerful of all the Puritan leaders, he
was the heir of four generations of Puritan ministers; he came into power when
Puritanism was on the decline. The notoriety of the Salem witchcraft trials, killed
many people and send many more to prison, which embittered the community s next
generation, the tragic occurrence which showed the prodigality of foolish Puritan
eagerness; Edwards wanted to change the disturbing secularism and the divine
weariness by holding a revival movement to correct all things, it was called the Great
Awakening.
Edwards, was against the introduction of the Half Way Covenant, which influence
and brought a sense of factual and divine comfort to the New Englander s, he
believed the Half Way Covenant wasn t fair because the Half Way Covenant only
extended affiliation to the third generation of those who acknowledged realistic
faith. Whereas a complete church affiliation was the source of pride only to those
and the children of those who could attest to the individual practice of change. The
revival movement moved many to strengthen their religious solemnity, throughout
New England. Edward s sermons were envisioned as a wake up call for all those who

The imagery in the first part of the sermon graphically emphasizes the subject of the
unregenerate. Edwards goes on to attack the rationality of the unconverted that

the spirit of God and becomes a child of god, they are still sinners in the hands of an

Ponyboy Character Analysis
Sometimes people judge a book by its cover. Ponyboy from The Outsiders was a
person that was judged by many people. He is in a gang, they call themselves the
greasers. They are poorer than the Socs and the middle class. When people see them
they immediately think, dirty troublemakers but they are more like a group of friends
hanging out. They are like one big family and very few of them from the gang
actually start trouble. Being that Ponyboy is a greaser, people think that he is a
troublemaker and a bad person but that is not the case. Ponyboy is a unique young
man that does not start trouble and does not like fighting. He is also a very good
friend. I can say that I am most like him because I find that we have very many
things in common when it comes to identity and personality. He is a nice person
who s smart in school and that is what sets him apart from the rest of his gang.
Although he may not think properly when he s out of school and it leads him to
trouble, he still keeps his good grades and respect towards others.
Ponyboy is a very good friend. He has a friend named Johnny who is also a greaser.
Johnny is going through so much throughout the story. He runs away from his home
because he heard his mother and father fighting like they always do. He goes to the
park and he says, I can t take much more. I ll kill myself or something. Johnny hated
that his parents fought so much and he didn t want to be around it. His parents were

Eugenics, Eugenics And Selective Breeding
Eugenics is defined as the science of improving a human population by controlled
breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics (Merriam
Webster). The extensive and shadowed history of authoritative and liberal eugenics
practices dates back to 1883 when eugenecist Francis Galton began publicly
advocating for the castration of the insane. Eugenicspractices occurred around the
world for more than a century and are still part of scientific progress and discussion
today. From the T4 programs of Nazi Germanyto the Human Genome Project and the
mapping of the entire fetal genetic makeup, eugenics and selective breeding have
played a major part in the history and social makeup of the world.
Sterilization became the most common eugenics practice in American between the
1920 s and 1970 s. In 1907, Indiana passed the first sterilization law which enabled
doctors to legally sterilize patients deemed unfit to reproduce without their
permission. The law came about during an era when vaccinations, clean eating and
workplace safety were all being supported. These public views helped the practice
gain support in the name of generational health and wellbeing. In the Model Law of
Sterilization published in 1914 by Harry Laughlin, any persons deemed feeble
minded, insane, criminalistic, epileptic, diseased, blind, deaf, deformed, promiscuous
or dependent by the state were able to be sterilized by a physician without consent.

The Model Of Teacher Stress
Teacher Stress The incidence of occupational stress has been well recognised in
many professions over the last 20 years (Howard Johnson, 2004). Stress is a common
phase in most professions. However, stress has been persistently associated with the
helping profession including teaching. Teaching is one of the high stressprofessions
(Travers Cooper, 1996; Kyriacou, 2000). As teachers are particularly at risk, teacher
stress is an international phenomenon, and this is indicated by the extensive well
researched literature across a wide range of different countries (Borg Falzon, 1990;
Pithers Soden, 1998; Brown, Ralph, Bember, 2002).
Early analysis on the model of teacher stress came from Kyriacou and Sutcliffe
(1978) who defined teacher stress as an unpleasant negative emotion such as anxiety,
anger, frustration, tension or depression experienced by a teacher from some aspect
of their work. The model of teacher stress reflects the importance of a teacher s
perception of a threat (Kyriacou Sutcliffe, 1978). A stressful situation is identified
when a situation is perceived as threatening. Negative emotional experiences are
commonly triggered when teachers perceived the physical or ... Show more content

Teachers become less patient, involved, caring and tolerant when the feelings of
anxiety continue (BlasГ©, 1986). They may also become unrealistically biased in
their assessments and judgments towards the students and this results in negative
outcomes for the students (Abidin Robinson, 2002). Feeling of self blame removes
the socially and emotionally of teachers from their students. Self blame is express
from the anger towards self, feeling of self pity and feeling of guilt (BlasГ©, 1986).
Teachers may also experience a loss of enthusiasm which causes teachers to reduce
their efforts of elaborating on the subject matter, creative involvement and humour

Rosa Parks Analysis
Rosa Parks: My Story is the auto biography of the infamous Rosa Parks. This book
was written by none other than Rosa Parks herself. Was one Authors view point
more believable than the other? The Call of the Wild is a fictional story and is not
based on a true event while Rosa Parks auto biography is a true story about her life, I
would choose Rosa Parkslife story simply because the point of view she has taken and
the emotion expressed throughout the story complies with the specific events that
happened to her throughout her life.
This story is based mostly on the life of Rosa Parks and her growing up in a
segregation filled state. During the beginning of the book she talks about her
family, what she used to do for a living and the conflicts between her parents. She
tells us how she used to work on a plantation picking cotton for the earlier part of
her life. Also she tells us how adjusting to living life without slavery was a bit
harder than they had expected so soon after the war; their family underwent many
changes and for the first time was able to purchase land. Rosa Parks tells us about
her life from her earliest memories to the day she committed the act that helped end
segregation.
For the book that I read for the first semester The Call of the Wild was written in
the third person point of view. The Auto biography Rosa Parks: My Story was
written in the first person point of view. Personally I believe that for Rosa Parks
autobiography there would be so much less detail if it was changed to a third
person point of view. And while you re reading you would feel that the knowledge
of the writer is somewhat limited and can t give a 100 pure account. For the first
book that I read I believe that changing the perspective of the book from a third
person to a first person point of view would add much more emotion into the book.
This would make it feel as if you are in the characters position feeling what he or she
is feeling, almost like a movie. Depending on the genre of the story, I would rather a
first person point of view for fiction books. For an Auto biography I would also prefer
a first person point of view. I realized that writing in a first person point of view
depends on the story and the

The international IT and electronics industries have been characterized with intensive
competition. Electronics and IT companies are constantly reviewing their
achievements as well as the competitors in order to come up with better business
strategies in an effort to best all other existing industry rivals. With the merger and
acquisition strategy between HP and Compaq, members of the IT and electronics
industry all over the world were threatened with the intensified effort that could result
from the integration. Others were surprised because mergers and acquisition

companies.
New Entrants
New entrant in the electronics and IT industries are confronted with relatively more
difficult entry to the international market due primarily to highly aggressive
competition between and among large corporations. It is common knowledge that
business operations and facilities that characterize both the international IT and
Electronics industries are very expensive and sophisticated. Such factors serve as
strong barriers of entry to the industries where HP Compaq belongs.

Strengths
The merger between HP and Compaq will increase the companies competitiveness
when it comes to the possible new product lines and services that they will offer as a
single company to the clients and customers. The integration strategy likewise
resulted fewer market competition within the context of large international

Long Term Care Insurance Research Papers
1. Long Term Care Insurance
If your senior loved one has a chronic illness or disability, they may benefit from
investing in long term care insurance. Medicare and employer based insurance plans
typically don t cover in home care. Long term care insurance is purchased separately
and covers in home care from health aides or caregivers. Because insurance
companies typically will withhold payment for a certain time period after the
insurance is purchased for seniors with pre existing conditions, make sure your
loved one has funds in savings or other sources to cover the care before the insurance
begins to pay.

Life insurance policies normally aren t paid out until your loved one passes away.
Accelerated death benefits, however, allow your loved one to receive a portion of
their life insurance policy in advance of their death. They can use this money to pay

Burial Of The Fetus Burial Analysis
I have chosen the topic of burial of the fetus because I believe that even though the

fetuses tissues be used for something good like organ donation or research for
finding cures. There have been several videos and breaking news about people

The Most Important Day Of My Life
Everyone always says that you do not realize what you have until it is gone, but I
knew what I had, I just never thought I would lose it. Grasping that I was going to
have to learn how to live without my boyfriend, Garret, in my life was one of the
hardest things to come to terms with. He was my favorite and most important
person in my life. Everything in my life now seemed colorless, and I did not know
how to move on from there. The most important day of my life was the day my
relationship with my first love ended because I discovered heartbreak, lost a best
friend and grew stronger. It was a Tuesday night. I had just flown in from a trip to
visit my long distance friend Chloe in New York City. I went straight to his house

thought of me not being able see him after a difficult day, or call him immediately
after something exciting happened. He was much more than just a silly high school
boyfriend to me. We were best friends, and I simply believed that we were always
going to be. When our relationship ended, what I found most difficult is filling the
time that would have been spent with him. I needed to learn how to be without
him, and I needed to learn how to put my love into something new. When Garret
and I broke up, I did not just lose my boyfriend, but I also lost my best friend.
Losing him as a best friend was far more painful. No one explains to you how to go
from being with someone every single day to suddenly never seeing them. I was
extremely down and defeated; I wondered how I would cope with the next day, or
even the next moment. I learned to live entirely in the present because the future was
far too painful to imagine. Although living in the present was difficult, I stayed there.
As my relationship with Garret came to a close, my current relationships with friends
and family grew stronger. My mom and my friends were my saving grace. They
distracted me from my sadness, and showed me how deserving I was. I found
myself becoming fearful that I did not have a person I could trust and rely on like I
felt I could with him. My friends
Peer Group Belonging Research
The peer group is viewed as a microsystem because it is made up of roles,
relationships, and activities (Berns, 2016). Peers are individuals who are of
approximately the same gender, age, and social status, and who share interests.
When children share different experiences with their peers, it allows them to obtain
a number of skills, attitudes, and roles that will guide their adaptation throughout
life. Peer groups are important socializers. Peer groups contribute beyond the way
that families and school affect socialization. Peers contribute to the socialization
process by satisfying certain basic needs: the need of belonging to a group and
interact socially, and the need to develop a sense of self (Berns, 2016). Belonging
needs and socialization develops throughout the childhood. In the infancy stage, the
sense of belonging develops first within the family. An example of this would be
when my mom would comfort me when I was a baby during thunder storms because
I was terrified of them. With my mom comforting me at this stage, I felt a sense of
belonging. In the early childhood stage, preschool children s social interactions are

The Emirates Group, a UAE based aviation group whom owns Emirates Airlines
also known as Fly Emirates and Emirates Sky Cargo, that was founded on the year
1985. The organization started off with only two aircrafts, flying from Dubai to
Karachi. Now, Fly Emirates is the largest airline in the Middle East and the second
largest airline in the world by schedule revenue miles flown, carrying around 1990
passengers per week and operating approximately 3600 flight per week
(EMIRATES 2016). The services are internationally known to be of a high class,
comfort in the skies with reasonable air fares, gaining the tittle as the Best Passenger
Airline and the Most Valuable Airline, in the world (EMIRATES 2016). Emirates
operates its networks from its hub, Dubai International Airport to more than 125
destinations throughout 6 continents. The airline owns many aircrafts, including the
Airbus A380, Boeing 777 300ER and the latest, Boeing 777 9. Similarly, the
organization has approximately 68000 employees, from 101 nations. Likewise,
Emirates Airlines has a sister company called Emirates Sky Cargo which handles the
air freight, internationally. Cargo operations commenced in the year 1989 and like
Emirates Airlines, Emirates Sky Cargo is equally branded by the people (EMIRATES

Opportunity Reed Reflection
I look forward to the opportunity Reed offers, to share something of value with the
community during Paideia. The Greek word not only means education, as the prompt
indicates; it also connotes the development of the ideal citizen, requiring discipline
and emotional health as well as content learning. The experience I have had that
comes closest to this is the work of being in the present moment. Often called
mindfulness, it s a tool for opening oneself up to a deep educationof the mind, body

I see this class as especially pertinent to Reed because of its honor code. The
principle of honor requires that people have both integrity and mutual respect. One
must be able to calmly and clearly evaluate a course of action and a fair minded
attitude towards it. For these goals there may be no better prescription than calm
abiding in the present moment.
Cultivating more skillful ways of responding to stress and distress is one of my
goals, and another is to share something I have found so beneficial for my mental
health and general well being. The learning, and its practice involve group activities

of all the things college freshmen go through: leaving home for the first time,

childhoods, Milosevic s parents committing suicide which would traumatize any

60 s purges where he became a close ally to the 1980 s party leader Ivan Stambolic.
When Slobodan Milosevic was president of Serbia, Time Magazine interviewed him
in 1995 just after the Dayton peace accords. His interview focused on four key
actions that were affecting former Yugoslavia. Firstly, the atrocities that ethnic Serbs

Hundreds of years of ethnic violence are dredged up at every meet; everyone thinks
theirs is the just cause. From my impartial view there is more than enough blame to
go around for all sides .
Milosevic came in to power in Yugoslavia because of his adept timing to use the
1987 protest by promoting Serbian nationalism on national television. Milosevic
adamantly stated in the interview that none of his books and speeches discussed a
strictly Serbian state. The concept of Greater Serbia was conceived in 1884 Ilika
Garasanin and was the credo for the secret Serb nationalist group the Black Hand
who assassinated Franz Ferdinand . Emulating the same opinion from the Garasanin
writing, Milosevic tried to create a Serbia that had complete control over the
Yugoslavian area and discredited any country that tried to exempt itself out of the
reaches of Serbian control. Bosnia and Herzegovina was illegally proclaimed as an
independent state and recognized.
Nationalism had been voiced many time s by Milosevic which he uses to voice out
against the Bosnian state. With the help from Karadzic another person who was
indicted for war crimes, Milosevic was able to gain a stronger foothold in Bosnia
Herzegovina. Rape camps were used and created to eliminate the Bosniak bloodline.
Thousands of Muslim and Croatian girls and women were raped and made forcibly
pregnant in settings including Serbian run concentration camps, of which about
twenty are solely rape/death camps

As an American taxpayer I personally agree with school choice as I studied at a
public school and understand the differences between public and private education.
Parents should be able to use these state issued debit cards to decide which type of
educational institution they want to send their child to. The counterargument to this
is that taxpayers money is going back into the private trust rather than into the public
school institution. School choice means providing this funding for low income
students who live in school zones with lower quality schools. If a family can, with
these state issued cards, send their child to private school, then they should be able to
do so as it provides a great opportunity for advancement. In this regard, school
choice is a vehicle to help improve inner cities and to provide options particularly
for low income families trapped in failing schools (Swaby). However, any person in
charge of the education system, especially the newly appointed Betsy DeVos, should

Characteristics Of The United Kingdom Judicial System
Introduction
The judicial system of the United Kingdom exists as a complex and intricate system
of law that has been practiced, and adjusted over a thousand years to reach the point
as is known in the present. The complexities of the judicial system presents itself as
different variations of the legal system within the United Kingdom, where although
they have their differences, they also share certain similarities between them. One
such similarity is that they all hold certain requirements for Judges which exist as a
centralized idea within the judicial system, as they are not entirely separated between
the varying legal systems of the United Kingdom. The complexities and similarities
of the United Kingdom s judicial system will be explored through their: structure,
documentation, categorization, and the requirements of judges; where all of which
will create a clearer picture to better understand how these elements operate. The
paper will be divided into two categories: the Judicial System, and the Requirements
of Judges. First, the judicial system will be explored through it s structure,
documentation, and classification of a legal system; and secondly will move into the
certain requirements that judges have in the United Kingdom. Both elements serve to
essentially build a foundation that explains a clearer picture of how the judicial
system of the United Kingdom practices law, and the expectations those in power
hold.

Essay on After High School Preperations
Children go to school to learn basic skills in reading and writing. It is also a place
where children learn how to be independent from their parents and how to interact
with other people. Parents have a hard decision deciding where to send their
children, and picking between private and public schools seems to be the hardest
choice out of it all. Both private and public schools appear very different in their
own ways and need to be taken into deep consideration when choosing the right
school to send their child. Private schools would prepare a student better for college,
but public schools would better prepare a student for the real world after high school
because private schoolteachers have greater discipline towards the children and...

Public schools have also been around for a very long time, just as private schools
have. The Puritans were the first to point out the need for public education of some
sort in America. They established schools to reinforce their core values, and not just
the essentials of reading, writing, and math. ( GreatSchools ) Both private and
public schools began to emphasize more on subjects besides the essentials and made
it an even harder choice for parents to decide between one or the other. A public
school is an educational institution run and funded by the government through
taxes. Public schools result from the thought that the government has at least some
responsibility for its citizens education. ( GreatSchools ) Schoolteachers did not
organize public schools, like the private schools were, but gets funded and run by
the government, instead. This is one of the many differences between private and
public schools. Choosing the right school for a child is the most important
decision someone will every have to make. Comparing private and public schools
appears hard especially because they seem so different. It is a debate that rages
across the playgrounds and living rooms of America. ( GreatSchools ) Many
parents have trouble deciding between public and private schools for their children,
and oftentimes feel as if they have made a wrong decision. Many people even have a
bias over public and private schools. Some

A year after my marriage, more things started to fall apart. On several occasions, I
had noticed my husband tiptoeing all hours of the night as he snuck in and out of
the house to meet up with people. At this time though, I didn t say much because we
were expecting our first child. I terrified that if I confronted him, our marriage would
fall apart, and every ideal family is one that is together, so I thought.
After the birth of my oldest child, things started to get better. My husband and I
discussed his activities, and we agreed that moving away from his temptations would
benefit our marriage. So, a few months after Colton was born, we packed up and
moved to Tennessee. All this time I felt as though I was doing the right thing. I was

This spacecraft also had solar panels that recharged the fuel battery and to boost
power flow. In the early years of the space program, when the Mariner 1 was
launch, this was very robust, sound, and an advanced piece of machinery. The
reason why NASA and JPL made this spacecraft sophisticated was because a
couple years before 1962 there were two missions that had a stated objective to
conduct a Venus flyby however both rockets failed. The cost of Mariner was $18.5
million dollars, but in today s world it s roughly $135 million.
Reasons why the Mariner 1 failed launched became historic was partially due to a

However, days leading up to launch there was speculation that NASA officials were
working under a very tight schedule with a launch window of 45 days, and that gave
little time under such pressure to launch another spacecraft to Venus. Also, since this
mission was extremely technological, there was much attention by newsgroups and
the public, this made the mission very high profile and added to the amount of tense
pressure for launch.
Causes of Failure There was not one concise reason that led to the failure of Mariner

A Literary Analysis Of The Birth-Mark By Nathaniel

Literary Analysis of The Birth Mark by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Obsession can drive even the sanest person insane. In the story, The Birth Mark by
Nathaniel Hawthorne, Aylmer, a scientist, is driven to extreme measures when he
becomes obsessed with the small hand shape birthmark on his wife Georgiana s face.
In The Birth mark , Hawthorne uses symbolism and characters to show that obsession
and fixation can make a person focus all their attention on one bad thing and forget
all the good.
Hawthorne uses symbolism to show that the birthmark represented Georgiana s
humanity and mortality. Upon Georgiana s face there is a small, red birthmark the
shape of a human hand. Before Aylmer married Georgiana, he never noticed the
birthmark, or rather was blinded by her beauty that he chose to [wish] it away
(Hawthorne 6). Aylmer says Georgiana is perfect but the birthmark overpowers her
beauty. He becomes so obsessed with the birthmark that he associates it with
everything that is wrong with Georgiana. He says the birthmark is . . . the fatal flaw
of humanity . . . with this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Aylmer first questions her about the mark she says to him, To tell you the
truth it has so often been called a charm that I was simple enough to imagine it
might be so (Hawthorne 5). Others said her birthmark was the imprint left from a
fairy. Some men would have done anything just to touch the mark, but Aylmer
thought the mark was an earthly imperfection on her beautiful face. Georgiana loves
her husband so much she was willing to do anything to make him happy. Even let
him try and remove the birthmark without knowing the consequences. She says, I
know not what may be the cost . . . to rid me of this birthmark. . . whether the results
be cureless deformity or even death. Danger means nothing to me; for life, while this
hateful mark makes me the object of your horror and disgust (Hawthorne
Martha Graham Essay
Martha Graham Essay
Throughout history, Modern Dance has been pioneered by inspirational
choreographers such as Isadora Duncan and Martha Graham. Martha Graham in
particular, revolutionised the dance industry with her numerous choreographed
works. By experimenting with foreign movements and establishing the fundamental
technique in Modern Dance, Martha Graham clearly expressed this dramatic dance
style as a new form of life. Her style, created from raw emotion, challenges the
technical barriers of traditional ballet and has evolved into today s contemporary
dance form.
Born into a privileged life in 1894 near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Graham was inspired
from her father being a specialised physician interested in the way the human body ...

At the time, women were often discriminated against not having the same power as
men. Graham has used this theme to display the social inequality sending a message
that men have been in control of women for centuries and that women need to break
free. The males use dominating gestures throughout, with the blind seer Tiresias,
portraying power and purpose with the repetition of arabesque promenades and high
levels. These foreign movements have expressed the themes in a dramatic way
developed from her dance style.
In this Greek themed performance, the women wore long black dresses with
stripes down the side and crown like head pieces. King Oedipus wears a simple
black tunic revealing most of his body. Tiresias dresses in a black flowing coat,
carries a wooden staff, and wears mask to show he is blind. Tiresias uses this wooden
staff to indicate his wisdom and this symbolizes truth. The silk rope used to hang
Queen Jacosta symbolises the connection to Oedipus from birth til death. The music
is an extension to the dancers and enhances this performance dramatically. Wild,
fierce and harsh would be a way to describe William Schumann s dynamic
instrumental score. The dancers reacted with the music emotionally as well as
physically increasing the overall effect of the performance. This choreographic style
has allowed modern dance to communicate life s emotions through drama
intertwining with physical movement and
The Development Of Byzantine Architecture
Byzantine architecture is directly related to imperial traditions, to the Christian life
and culture of the Romans. A typical feature of Byzantium is the diverse ethnic
composition that includes Greeks, Thracians, Armenians, Syrians, Copts, Jews,
Avars, Slavs and many others. This diversity of peoples and cultures influences the
overall development of Byzantine architecture. Christianity is an important element
shaping the overall appearance of the Byzantine culture.
The light enters through the windows under the dome and illuminates the central
ship and the bridal space.
Procopius explains the impact of the architectural space on the light: The spherical
dome, thanks to the light, does not seem to stand on solid foundations, but seems to
hang on a gold chain from the sky.
In this way one can best describe the beauty and grace of Byzantine architecture.
Byzantine architecture has undergone three stages in its development:
In 313, Christianity was officially recognized. By 326 this was the official religion of
the Roman Empire. The boundaries of the Empire were from Milan and Cologne on
the west to Syria on the east and to Greece and Egypt on the south. The new religion
requires all ceremonies to take place inside the temple, which necessitates the increase
of space within the temple. This created the need for a new architecture. This function
took the basilica.
The basilica is a rectangular building divided by rows of columns of sodium, five or
more longitudinal ships,

Competiveness and Performance Effectiveness for Health Care IT Systems
Introduction
With the rapid growth in technology, many healthcare organizations have embraced
the use of healthcare information technologies. As such, the information technology
department has various staffs that perform fundamental roles in the information
technology related activities. It ranges from activities of customizing a software to
implementing and maintaining a network to ensure effective system backups. In
addition, these healthcare information technologies bring about other ... Show more

Other healthcare organizations have integrated the design of healthcare technologies
within the organization. For such organizations, the CIO takes part in the analysis
and assessments of the proposed healthcare information technology (HIT)
applications. The CIO further manages the development, design and implementation
of the HITs. In addition, healthcare organizations are rapidly acquiring HITs.
Therefore, there is an increasing need to train the healthcare staff to ensure they can
use the systems. The CIO, therefore, plans and supervises the development of training
methods for the management and technical staff on the use and possible maintenance
of the HITs (Tan, Payton, amp; Tan, 2010).
Chief Technology Officer In most of the healthcare organizations, there is a position
for the chief technology officer (CTO). The CTO leads the information technology
architecture, including the strategies in health care organizations. Importantly, the
CIO has a higher rank than the CTO. As such, when there are any IT related
initiatives and recommendations, the CTO reports them directly to the Senior Vice
President and the Chief Information Officer. Because healthcare organizations are
rapidly acquiring and implementing HITs in their organizations, the need to make
clear the vision of the organization, in that context, is imperative. Therefore, the CTO
comes in, develops and articulate the technology vision of
Summary Of The Unique American Prism
Every nation began its development with a certain expectation, or ideal in mind. The
Romans conquered their empire through force and brutality, a method similarly used
by the Ottomans, who used conflict as a way to expand their iron fist. Many nations
began in a way that appears most unsettling to people today, but it was thought that
once conquered, equality in law would follow. This was not always the case, and one
of the most prevalent examples of this is the expansion of the British Empire in North
America. Although the U.S. was settled not conquered, it was very evident that its
mother country Britain had no interest in bringing equality between the two
countries. It was easier for Britain to impose harsh taxes, tariffs, and commissions...

Most recently the United States involvement in the Syrian Civil War has proven to
be a profound example of this ideology. The United States has no business pursuing
countries less stable than their own in order to sway indigenous people into
restructuring their government into a democracy. This idea of spreading
democracy can easily be paralleled with missionaries pursuing foreigners of less
domesticated countries to join their religious following. Early settlers in the
Massachusetts Bay Colony were Puritans by religion and often disagreed with the
Church of England, these beliefs translated into a more individualistic approach to
self government. Subsequently, John Winthrop s sermon, A City upon a Hill
supports the assumptions of early foreign policy in America being coerced by a
political system of individualists and missionaries. Winthrop s role as the first
governor of the Bay Colony was important, for it sets the precedent for future leaders
of that time. He called for an unwavering unity of the colonists when he states, we
must be knit together in this work as one man...always having before our eyes our

Fab 5 Thesis Statement
Fab 5
Basketball has always been a favorite sport of Americans. Originally basketball
players would wear mini shorts and short socks. When the Fab Five were recruited to
the Michigan college team they changed the look of the sport forever. They brought
in their own looks, styles and methods to playing. (not a clear thesis statement/not a
direct debatable statement) In 1989, on the eve of the final championship game, Steve
Fisher became the head coach for Michigan State. He and the team went on to win
the championship. Even though they won Steve didn t really get the credit for the
game since he had just been hired the night before. With the next season fast
approaching fans and critics were anxious to see if the new coach had good

fans. He later received many hate letters. Not only did he received them but the other
freshmen did as well. Alumni were mad that the traditional way of the game was

Nationalism And The Imagination Sparknotes
Nationalism and the Imagination by Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak has being the
hardest text I have read during my theory class at Sydney College of the Arts in
2014. My task was to read and explain the text to my theory class and my lecturer Dr
Adam Geczy in 8 minutes as a YouTube video. This was an almost impossible task
because Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination is a small book of 75 pages and at
Sydney College of the Arts s library we are only able to borrow the book for 2 hours.
I later found the book online as a pdf file. I have decided to leave my video
presentation on YouTube to help some lost and desperate sole searching for the
meaning of Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination, before contemplating on
killing your self... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the course of understanding Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination, I had
to look at other texts to begin to comprehend the purpose of Spivak s talk on
nationalism, Indian sovereignty, marginalized women, subaltern, comparative
literatures oral formulaic, postcolonialism, etc. One of the best texts I came across
was an e book by Stephen Morton entitled Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak. It was first
published in 2003 by Routledge and you can find it online as a pdf file.
Morton analysis several of Spivak s works and then he explains in an uncomplicated
manner the reasons for Spivak s comments and her writing in general. Although
Morton does not directly comment on Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination you
will be able to understand Nationalism and the Imagination because Spivak draws
from previous works that Morton includes in his e book Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak.
Another way of understanding Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination is by
reading the book reviews on the book. There are several book reviews on Spivak s
Nationalism and the Imagination online or you can find it through your university s
library. I was using ProQuest to find articles on Spivak s Nationalism and the
Imagination.
Last but not least, I watched several videos by Dr Jason J Campbell, user
drjasonjcampbell. He was great, easy to understand and he includes notes with all his
videos that you can download if you wish. What I liked the most about Dr

Middle School Student Allowance
Do you think middle school students should have an allowance? Well I do because
middle school students always ask for money from their parents. Then they ll end
up spending it on something dumb. But since they re always going to ask for
money they are going to have to earn it. Some ways they can earn this money can be
by doing chores.
I believe middle school students should have an allowance so they can do chores.
Some chores I believe they should clean their room, wash dishes, take out trash,
vacuum the living room, and do laundry. Middle school students rooms can be very
messy and they will not clean it up like they are supposed to. So if they do clean up
their room then they ll get an allowance for keeping their room clean. Then they won t
Skeletal Muscles
One of the Primary movements preformed while playing indoor volley ball is
jumping to block a spike from the opposition. Blocking consists of two main actions,
primarily a vertical jump to place yourself in the path of the volleyball and secondary
raising your arms above your head in order to block a larger area of space.
Bones are essential to all movement of the human body as they are what is moved
during muscle contractions, but can also limit our range of motion. During the
primary vertical jump flexion and extension of the hip is allowed by the highly
mobile ball and socket joint formed between the pelvis and femur. Flexion and
extension of the knee is made possible by the hinge joint formed between the femur

Incorrect technique can lead to poor performance but can be improved by correcting
biomechanics such as balance, stability and centre of gravity. Performance can also
be increases by adding spin to the ball. Athlete spend years trying to improve their
performance by perfecting correct technique
Many technical issues in volleyball stem from bad balance. Before you perform a
jump serve you must first adopt a stance with one foot in fortune of the other which
increases your base of support. In doing this you ensure that you are in complete
control of your body and the ball will go exactly where you want it.
After a good starting position has been obtained it is the action is made easier and
more effective. A good throw is performed by throwing the ball high and in a liner
line straight up into the air using your non hitting hand. While the ball falls an
athlete will take a step forward and place their weight on their front foot before
jumping to hit the ball. In moving your weight to your front foot you move your
centre of gravity forward as well which helps to build momentum towards the ball
and to exert more force on the ball thus making it travel faster making it harder for
the opponent to
Ebenezer Scrooge Doesnt Know The True Meaning Of
Business
Scrooge is a very rude and rich man. He doesn t know the true meaning of
Christmas or business , but after a few ghostly appearances, he is transformed and
has a new perspective on things. Scrooge doesn t believe in celebrating the holiday
of Christmas because it requires him to spend money when he wants to keep his

He believes it only is consisting of money. Through Scrooge s development, Dickens
shows that people should make charity their business because people are way more
important than money.
Scrooge s definition of man s business is about gaining money. This impacts his life
because no one likes Scrooge because he only worries about money. For an example,
Research Paper On Mars
Mars is our 4th planet in the Solar System in the Milky Way Galaxy, It consists of
frozen water, but it s water is underground because the atmosphere that was there is
gone, and it kept the water warm on mars, but since it the atmosphere is gone, the
water froze into the ground. People are also thinking about traveling up to mars, and
colonizing it for the future to live on for generations to come.
Though it could cost over five hundred thousand dollars to get a spaceship and the
fuel to go to mars, it will still be quite worth it to do so. Elon Musk was one of the
astronomers to be able to go to the moon in 1969. He states that If he does not get to

I Am A Peace At The Vail Valley Medical Center After...
To begin, I want to clarify that I am not sharing this because I seek sympathy, I am
rather sharing this because I feel that I owe a sincere explanation to you all.
My father was admitted to the Vail Valley Medical Center after suffering from
withdrawal symptoms from alcoholism on June 21st, 2015 (Father s Day), one week
before I left for the United States Naval Academy. Within the first week of Plebe
Summer I learned that he had almost passed away after developing a staph
infection and that Flight For Life Colorado had to transport him to a larger
hospital in Denver. During Plebe Summer I also learned that my grandfather,
whom I had been extremely close with, had passed away on July 14th, 2015. I
missed the funeral that was held on July 21st, 2015 in Durango because I was in
Annapolis, and I was therefore unable to be there for my grandmother. These two
events reinforced how much I value my family and my proximity to them. I made
the difficult decision to depart the United States Naval Academy because I felt that
I needed to be in Colorado to support my family, especially my mother and my 14
year old brother. I want you all to know that I do not place any blame on my father
for what happened. He decided to quit drinking alcohol solely for the reason that he
wanted to be sober in order to give me the the best possible final week at home. It
was an act of love that turned into disaster, despite his pure intentions. If you know
him you are extremely fortunate, and I truly

Essay On Trip.pdf

  • 1. Essay On Trip Crafting an essay on the topic of a trip may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as one might think that narrating personal experiences or sharing travel anecdotes requires minimal effort. However, the difficulty lies in transcending mere recollection and transforming the narrative into a compelling piece of writing that engages readers on a deeper level. The challenge begins with selecting the right angle for the essay. A trip could encompass a myriad of themes – cultural experiences, personal growth, unexpected adventures, or even the impact on one's perspective. Deciding on a focal point that resonates with the audience while maintaining the authenticity of the narrative requires thoughtful consideration. The structure of the essay poses another obstacle. Weaving a coherent and engaging storyline demands a balance between chronological order and thematic organization. Transitioning smoothly from one phase of the trip to another, while maintaining a cohesive flow, requires careful planning and meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, conveying the essence of the journey goes beyond simple description. The writer must skillfully employ descriptive language, engaging metaphors, and vivid imagery to transport the reader into the experience. Creating an emotional connection with the audience involves skillful word choice and an understanding of the nuances of storytelling. Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding the trap of clichГ©s. With countless essays on travel experiences available, it is crucial to infuse a unique perspective or a personal touch to stand out. This requires a level of introspection and creativity that elevates the essay from a mundane travelogue to a thought-provoking piece of literature. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of a trip may seem straightforward, but the real difficulty lies in the art of storytelling. Crafting a compelling narrative that captivates the reader, choosing the right theme, structuring the essay effectively, and avoiding clichГ©s are all aspects that contribute to the complexity of this task. If you find yourself grappling with such challenges or simply wish to explore a broader range of topics, consider seeking assistance. The first system of federalism is dual federalism. Dual federalism is the state government has their own responsibilities and the national government has their own responsibilities. Dual federalismwas mainly based around the Tenth Amendment which states that anything that isn t in the Constitution are reserved to the states. It is kind of like a tug of war, the state governments are on one side and the federal government on the other. • 6. Gay Is the New Black in America As I was browsing the internet I discovered this article (McWhorter, 2013) comparing the gay community with the African American community. At first glance, I felt how can the two be compared? So, I decided to give this article a read. The purpose of the article was to bring attention to the civil rights movement of today dealing with the homosexual community s civil rights and how it compares to the historic civil rights movements made by the African Americancommunity from 1955 1968. In my mind as an African American, my pride was not allowing me to see the comparison for what it really was. African Americans have endured a longer, more violent time frame of inequality than those of the gay community. This is how I see and feel it to be. I had to do some more research to see exactly how this era s civil rights movement became an understudy for comparison to the civil rights movements by black Americans during the time span of 1955 1968. Us as African Americans need to support the gay civil rights movements of today because we should understand and realize the struggles we went through and help this nation become more equal. Gay is the new black in America, not all aspects of the two relate such as the level of violence endured by the African Americans as they fought to obtain equal rights but the fight to be seen equal is the same. The growth that the African American community has accomplished is a historic one that the gay community wishes to achieve as well. Although

However, there seem to be many problems with the ideology they follow which leads to ruin of their infrastructure and the lives of people who live in other countries and those problems can be discovered in the film Independence Day. Eugenics, Eugenics And Selective Breeding Eugenics is defined as the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics (Merriam Webster). The extensive and shadowed history of authoritative and liberal eugenics practices dates back to 1883 when eugenecist Francis Galton began publicly advocating for the castration of the insane. Eugenicspractices occurred around the world for more than a century and are still part of scientific progress and discussion today. From the T4 programs of Nazi Germanyto the Human Genome Project and the mapping of the entire fetal genetic makeup, eugenics and selective breeding have played a major part in the history and social makeup of the world. Sterilization became the most common eugenics practice in American between the 1920 s and 1970 s. In 1907, Indiana passed the first sterilization law which enabled doctors to legally sterilize patients deemed unfit to reproduce without their permission. The law came about during an era when vaccinations, clean eating and workplace safety were all being supported. These public views helped the practice gain support in the name of generational health and wellbeing. As teachers are particularly at risk, teacher stress is an international phenomenon, and this is indicated by the extensive well researched literature across a wide range of different countries (Borg Falzon, 1990; Pithers Soden, 1998; Brown, Ralph, Bember, 2002). Early analysis on the model of teacher stress came from Kyriacou and Sutcliffe (1978) who defined teacher stress as an unpleasant negative emotion such as anxiety, anger, frustration, tension or depression experienced by a teacher from some aspect of their work. The model of teacher stress reflects the importance of a teacher s perception of a threat (Kyriacou Sutcliffe, 1978). A stressful situation is identified when a situation is perceived as threatening. Was one Authors view point more believable than the other? The Call of the Wild is a fictional story and is not based on a true event while Rosa Parks auto biography is a true story about her life, I would choose Rosa Parkslife story simply because the point of view she has taken and the emotion expressed throughout the story complies with the specific events that happened to her throughout her life. This story is based mostly on the life of Rosa Parks and her growing up in a segregation filled state. During the beginning of the book she talks about her family, what she used to do for a living and the conflicts between her parents. She tells us how she used to work on a plantation picking cotton for the earlier part of her life. Also she tells us how adjusting to living life without slavery was a bit harder than they had expected so soon after the war; their family underwent many changes and for the first time was able to purchase land. Rosa Parks tells us about her life from her earliest memories to the day she committed the act that helped end segregation. For the book that I read for the first semester The Call of the Wild was written in the third person point of view. The Auto biography Rosa Parks: My Story was written in the first person point of view. Personally I believe that for Rosa Parks autobiography there would be so much less detail if it was changed to a third person point of view. And while you re reading you would feel that the knowledge of the writer is somewhat limited and can t give a 100 pure account. For the first book that I read I believe that changing the perspective of the book from a third person to a first person point of view would add much more emotion into the book. This would make it feel as if you are in the characters position feeling what he or she is feeling, almost like a movie. Depending on the genre of the story, I would rather a first person point of view for fiction books. For an Auto biography I would also prefer a first person point of view. I realized that writing in a first person point of view depends on the story and the

Peers are individuals who are of approximately the same gender, age, and social status, and who share interests. Peer groups are important socializers. Peer groups contribute beyond the way that families and school affect socialization. Peers contribute to the socialization process by satisfying certain basic needs: the need of belonging to a group and interact socially, and the need to develop a sense of self (Berns, 2016). Belonging needs and socialization develops throughout the childhood. In the infancy stage, the sense of belonging develops first within the family. School Choice Argument Paper School Choice Argument Paper Client s Name Institutional Affiliation As an American taxpayer I personally agree with school choice as I studied at a public school and understand the differences between public and private education. Parents should be able to use these state issued debit cards to decide which type of educational institution they want to send their child to. The counterargument to this is that taxpayers money is going back into the private trust rather than into the public school institution. School choice means providing this funding for low income students who live in school zones with lower quality schools. If a family can, with these state issued cards, send their child to private school, then they should be able to do so as it provides a great opportunity for advancement. All this time I felt as though I was doing the right thing. I was making decisions that an adult would do for their families. I was familiar with Tennessee from childhood vacations and loved it, but I knew this was different. I was leaving my mom and not coming back. We said our goodbyes on a Saturday afternoon and piled up in our small four door sedan to set out on a six hour drive to our new house. Upon our arrival, I started working my ideal job at the hospital, and my husband had his. I was day shift and my husband was working nights, so we hardly saw each other, but things started to seem better for us. In the early years of the space program, when the Mariner 1 was launch, this was very robust, sound, and an advanced piece of machinery. The reason why NASA and JPL made this spacecraft sophisticated was because a couple years before 1962 there were two missions that had a stated objective to conduct a Venus flyby however both rockets failed. The cost of Mariner was $18.5 million dollars, but in today s world it s roughly $135 million. Reasons why the Mariner 1 failed launched became historic was partially due to a very avoidable error, which NASA described as a, hyphen in the data editing . However, days leading up to launch there was speculation that NASA officials were working under a very tight schedule with a launch window of 45 days, and that gave little time under such pressure to launch another spacecraft to Venus. Also, since this mission was extremely technological, there was much attention by newsgroups and the public, this made the mission very high profile and added to the amount of tense pressure for launch. Causes of Failure There was not one concise reason that led to the failure of Mariner 1,

A Literary Analysis Of The Birth-Mark By Nathaniel Hawthorne Crystal Rodarte Dr. Sagerson ENGL 1302 February 8, 2015 Literary Analysis of The Birth Mark by Nathaniel Hawthorne Obsession can drive even the sanest person insane. In the story, The Birth Mark by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Aylmer, a scientist, is driven to extreme measures when he becomes obsessed with the small hand shape birthmark on his wife Georgiana s face. In The Birth mark , Hawthorne uses symbolism and characters to show that obsession and fixation can make a person focus all their attention on one bad thing and forget all the good. Hawthorne uses symbolism to show that the birthmark represented Georgiana s humanity and mortality. Upon Georgiana s face there is a small, red birthmark the shape of a human hand. Before Aylmer married Georgiana, he never noticed the birthmark, or rather was blinded by her beauty that he chose to [wish] it away (Hawthorne 6). Martha Graham in particular, revolutionised the dance industry with her numerous choreographed works. By experimenting with foreign movements and establishing the fundamental technique in Modern Dance, Martha Graham clearly expressed this dramatic dance style as a new form of life. Her style, created from raw emotion, challenges the technical barriers of traditional ballet and has evolved into today s contemporary dance form. Born into a privileged life in 1894 near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Graham was inspired from her father being a specialised physician interested in the way the human body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the time, women were often discriminated against not having the same power as men. Graham has used this theme to display the social inequality sending a message that men have been in control of women for centuries and that women need to break free. The males use dominating gestures throughout, with the blind seer Tiresias, portraying power and purpose with the repetition of arabesque promenades and high levels. These foreign movements have expressed the themes in a dramatic way developed from her dance style. In this Greek themed performance, the women wore long black dresses with stripes down the side and crown like head pieces. King Oedipus wears a simple black tunic revealing most of his body. Tiresias dresses in a black flowing coat, carries a wooden staff, and wears mask to show he is blind. Tiresias uses this wooden staff to indicate his wisdom and this symbolizes truth. The silk rope used to hang Queen Jacosta symbolises the connection to Oedipus from birth til death. The music is an extension to the dancers and enhances this performance dramatically. Wild, fierce and harsh would be a way to describe William Schumann s dynamic instrumental score. The dancers reacted with the music emotionally as well as physically increasing the overall effect of the performance. This choreographic style has allowed modern dance to communicate life s emotions through drama intertwining with physical movement and

A typical feature of Byzantium is the diverse ethnic composition that includes Greeks, Thracians, Armenians, Syrians, Copts, Jews, Avars, Slavs and many others. This diversity of peoples and cultures influences the overall development of Byzantine architecture. Christianity is an important element shaping the overall appearance of the Byzantine culture. The light enters through the windows under the dome and illuminates the central ship and the bridal space. Procopius explains the impact of the architectural space on the light: The spherical dome, thanks to the light, does not seem to stand on solid foundations, but seems to hang on a gold chain from the sky. In this way one can best describe the beauty and grace of Byzantine architecture. Byzantine architecture has undergone three stages in its development: In 313, Christianity was officially recognized. By 326 this was the official religion of the Roman Empire. The boundaries of the Empire were from Milan and Cologne on the west to Syria on the east and to Greece and Egypt on the south. The new religion requires all ceremonies to take place inside the temple, which necessitates the increase of space within the temple. This created the need for a new architecture. This function took the basilica. The basilica is a rectangular building divided by rows of columns of sodium, five or more longitudinal ships,

The Romans conquered their empire through force and brutality, a method similarly used by the Ottomans, who used conflict as a way to expand their iron fist. This was not always the case, and one of the most prevalent examples of this is the expansion of the British Empire in North America. Early settlers in the Massachusetts Bay Colony were Puritans by religion and often disagreed with the Church of England, these beliefs translated into a more individualistic approach to self government. Subsequently, John Winthrop s sermon, A City upon a Hill supports the assumptions of early foreign policy in America being coerced by a political system of individualists and missionaries.
