2. Cloning By Diller And Von Furstenberg
Would you risk so many problems to have another pet identical to the one you already have or
already had? There are so many pets in the world, why would we clone to make more? Things
could wrong with cloning and it would be weird. For instance, I don t understand why people
would clone their dog, Sally, to help with grief. When they are grieving because Sally died. That
would be weird most of the time.
Just because someone pays a lot of money to clone their dog, that doesn t mean they will get the
same dog back. For example, Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg cloned their Jack Russell
terrier, Shannon, and now have two identical Jack Russells. Diller and von Furstenberg can raise
the dogs in the same way as they did Shannon, but they will

3. Robert Zieger s For Jobs And Freedom
Robert Zieger s For Jobs and Freedom Race and Labor In America Since 1865 is laid out as a
scholarly historical look at how race has effected freedom and the labor market for blacks in
America since the late 19th century. While Zieger presents the material in a scholarly manner
and is careful to look at issues from more than one paradigm; I feel that his voice is often lost in
this careful presentation of both sides of the coin. Aside from obviously being pro union Robert
Zieger only takes a personal stand a once in his book For Jobs and Freedom; the onetime Zieger
s voice is heard he speaks in opposition to the Accomodationists ideals of Booker T and Villard
who urged young blacks to accept their station and apply themselves diligently to become the best
farmer, domestic servant, or ditch digger that they could possibly be. Another critic of the book
raised in class by Professor Bloom was that Zieger only focuses on one form of racism, white
supremacy. In my paper I will briefly discuss some of the social and economic changes that
forced the rearticulation of the relationship between black workers and white capital near the turn
of the century. I will also highlight Zieger s argument that organized labor near the turn of the
century failed black workers with their actions while maintaining a rhetoric of egalitarian
principles towards black workers. Zieger s practical agenda is to shine a light on racism and help
facilitate its end by educating through a lens of

4. Essay On Mexican American History
Mexican American history is overwhelmed with rich culture and vast experiences. The struggles
and challenges this diverse group of people possessed throughout time to bring about change prove
important to the history of the world in many aspects and regards. Whether or not to teach Mexican
American history in classrooms throughout the United Statesis a hot topic of debate. However, to
forget about an entire raceand culture of a people is to sweep much larger issues under the rug
such as racial divide. It is not only morally wrong to do such a thing, but also impractical to ignore
an entire group of people. Doing so leaves room to breed uncomfortable ignorance throughout the
population about Mexican Americans. Ones opposed to the idea of

How can it be that only Christianity is true? If God exists, why can t God be used in different
religions? Don t all paths lead to God? Arguments like these can stir up conversations and
arguments, I am going to fight for the Christianity religion and discuss my reasoning, Why
Christianity over other religions? Well Christianityis the only religion in which Godreaches down to
man by becoming a man and in the other religions god just sits and watches over the down below.
When leaders of other religions shut the door on Christ by denying who He is, they shut the door
on salvation. The reason we are forgave for our sins is because Christ dealt with our sin on the
cross, while other religions require us to sin, which is impossible since our

7. Craftsmanship In Art
The ancient sculptures, paintings, and arts are used to enhance a leader s image. The use of art
started as a means of power at various times in diverse cultures. Paintings were created nearly
during Stonehenge period. Very old Egyptian art refers to the accepted two dimensional and three
dimensional art developed in Egypt from 3000 BC and used until the 3rd century. Since the late
nineteenth century, people have discovered that the ancient cultural groups and individuals have
been composing a variety of arts, was all done on mass off caverns. Twenty seven of the caves have

However, the government could charge one standard price for the land. This allowed anyone to

10. The Movie, The Matrix, Written and Directed by the...
The movie The Matrix, written and directed by The Wachowski brothers, can be seen as the
ultimate Marxist metaphor. Its basic premise is that the world as we know it is fake; it is a
computer simulated dreamworld , mimicking our own world of the late 90s, called the Matrix. In
charge of the Matrix itself is a seemingly malevolent sentient machine species. Even worse, the sole
purpose of this simulation is to control humanity, which has been enslaved inside the simulation for
several hundreds of years. It was a matter of survival for the Machines, as the humans in the days
before the Matrixattempted to destroy the Machines by blocking their power source the sun. So, in
order for their species to continue living humanity was enslaved within the Matrixand their
bioelectric energies were harvested and used to power the Machine civilization. Clearly if Karl
Marx heard this story he would fall in love with it, assuming that he could stomach both the
violence in the movie and Keanu Reevesacting*.
Many aspects of the plot of The Matrix have clear correspondence to elements of Marx s Social
Conflict theory. According to Marxist criticisms of Capitalism, there are two major social classes,
the Bourgeoisie and the Proletariat. The Bourgeoisie, or the elite, are the wealthy people, the
business owners, and the politicians. They are the people in charge. This elite class controls the
Proletariat. The Proletariat, or non elite, is the working class. They make up the workforce

13. My Adulthood Memories And Memories Of A Childhood Home
Places are more than less often full of memories. Rooms have narratives that can be told through the
items and furniture they contain. These narratives are often overlooked and not thought about,
especially in places where one does not want to spend a particularly large amount of time. Rooms
speak, even though we often don t want to listen, or don t want to know. Basements are often like
this, full of broken thing and memories, knee deep castaways, childhood toys and holiday lights.
The basementin my childhood home is this way, completely divided into then and now; simply,
entirely, depressing. This room is split into two distinct halves. The stairs are creaky and off
white, stained grey and black from soda spills, muddy shoes, snow slush and dirty dog feet.
Clumps of dog hair sit in the corners of each step, wrapped up into dust balls. At the bottom, to
the immediate left, is where a playroom used to be. There are drawings and old bits of paper
stuck up on the walls, hinting as to what this space used to contain. Now, a large, professional
grade ping pong table sits in the middle of the room. Once loved, the table is now stacked high
with towels and laundry. On the wallparallel to the length of the table is a child s growth chart,

14. The Affects Of Climate Change On Marine Mammals
Effects of climate change on marine mammals Introduction Climate change is the change in
distribution of weather patterns usually after an extended period. Climate change is caused by
factors such as variation in solar radiation, biotic processes, volcanic eruptions and plate tectonic
oceans are known to be affected by climate. Marine mammals are very sensitive to changes in the
ocean environment. It is anticipated that climate change effects on marine mammals mediated
majorly by changes in prey distribution and abundance and the adaptable species may be able to
respond to this changes to some extent.
Observations made during the previous years on marine mammals show that certain species maybe
vulnerable than others this may include those with limited habitat such as narwhals. Reviews
provided by top organization, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change indicate that climate
change is likely to induce changes in temperatures and adjustment associated with ocean circulation,
sea level, and ice coverage.
Impact of climate change on marine mammals occur differently according to type of mammal and
its dwelling place either deep sea dweller or surface sea dwellers (Aguirre, Ostfeld, Daszak, 2012).

anthropogenic factors. Habitat distributed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

15. My Favorite Year Essay
The focus of my essay is my favorite year. At 16, what could cause a girl to feel like this is the
best year of her life? There are three reasons that make this my best year. The first reason is
because, for the first time in my life, I felt comfortable in my body. The second reason is my
mother gave me a birthday party, that was more amazing than words. Lastly, this year was great
because I started driving. All of these, moments through this year, added up to be my best and
favorite year. I had always been overweight growing up, and I never felt comfortable in my own
skin. I had been on several diets, all of which ended either gaining, or losing half a pound. It would
depress me because I never thought I could do it. But, somewhere in the month of February, my
motherstarted an extreme diet and got me onboard. We were using her diabetic diet that her doctors
gave her for her gestational diabetes. The diet helped balance blood sugarto give you energy all day.

energy I would say, I could climb a mountain right now! By my birthday, which is in April, I had

17. Teaching Reading Comprehension
Introduction
What is reading? Reading is about understanding written texts. It is a complex activity that involves
both perception and thought. Reading consists of two related processes: word recognition and
comprehension. Word recognition refers to the process of perceiving how written symbols
correspond to one s spoken language. Comprehension is the process of making sense of words,
sentences and connected text. Readers typically make use of background knowledge, vocabulary,
grammatical knowledge, experience with text and other strategies to help them understand written
text.
Researchs and classroom practices support the use of a balanced approach in teaching reading

A person may also read for enjoyment, or to enhance knowledge of the language being read. The
purpose(s) for reading guide the reader s selection of texts.
The purpose for reading also determines the appropriate approach to reading comprehension. A
person who needs to know whether she can afford to eat at a particular restaurant needs to
comprehend the pricing information provided on the menu, but does not need to recognize the
name of every appetizer listed. A person reading poetry for enjoyment needs to recognize the
words the poet uses and the ways they are put together, but does not need to identify main idea and
supporting details. However, a person using a scientific article to support an opinion needs to know
the vocabulary that is used, understand the facts and cause effect sequences that are presented, and
recognize ideas that are presented as hypotheses and givens.
Reading research shows that good readers

While as a matter of fact, we don t. We don t have the control of our own minddue to our instinct of

Accepting others ideas becomes a subliminal reaction for us and after hearing that we remember
that without a doubt. After a long time, we intentionally think that s our own ideas instead of

patient, Mario has electrode implanted in his brain to control obsessive compulsive disorder. Mario
s treatment was actually mind control because the doctor holds the clicker to control him. As a

19. The Fall Of The Three Great Unifiers Of Japan
Neville, EdwinIntroduction
Tokugawa Ieyasu was one of the three great unifiers of Japan, but was different in the way he
actually succeeded. Oda Nobunaga had the mentality to crush anybody in his way of his goal,
Hideyoshi had much too great ambitions, but Ieyasu was reserved and cautious which lead to his
success. His belief that the use of politics was just as important if not more important than war to
unify the realm perpetually was his key to doing just that. His careful thinking and strategy lead
him to be the last great unifier of Japan. The People
One of the greatest ideas Ieyasu had for a stable state of governance was to be on the side of those
being governed. This kind of thinking made him lower the tax, along with abusive tax collectors.
He also punished those that abused tax collections and set regulations upon them to decrease unfair
tax administration. The people tended to migrate into areas more directly controlled by Ieyasu s
government. By gaining the favour of the masses he minimized rebellion, along with his following
Hideyoshi in the way of taking weapons away from commoners. Along with reducing and regulating
tax collection, Tokugawa Ieyasugave certain rights to religious groups. Ieyasu believed that
religion was an important part of governance, he ensured Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and
other sacred grounds were protected, to those that accepted his rule. In order to have the religious

20. Education As A Viable Curriculum
Introduction Education evolves to ensure students are receiving the appropriate skills they need
when they graduated high school or choose a career and compete globally in terms of human
resources. Thus, curriculum plays an essential role in equipping these children from elementary up
to high school in the area of their intellectual and social aspect. However, do we have a guaranteed
and viable curriculum to equip these children? Viable Curriculum As established by Marzano,
about a guaranteed viable curriculum is primarily a combination of opportunity to learn and time
(2003, p.22).Likewise, he even emphasized OPT (opportunity to learn) is a strong link in student
achievement, considering OPT give all students the chance to determine the skills used to assess
their capabilities in mathematics (Marzano, 2003). Furthermore, given a viable curriculum should
also be matched with appropriate classroom instruction. However, how do we measure if the
instruction given is adequate? There is a need of a viable grading system to determine the validity
of student s learning. Grading System Students tend to aim high to achieve for academic excellence
if there is a visual representation of their invested time and effort. This serves as the best motivating
factor and inspiration of students to persevere and aim for the best which is the achievement grade.
As Wright and Murray stated, grading system produce a valid measure of learning considering that

Achebe uses this technique as a way to show the importance of language between classes
throughout his novel. As the Igbo tribe is experiencing colonization and the intrusion of the
Western people, the narration shifts from a fully understood and accepted form of communication,
to a barrier that prevents the Western people from understanding the national that they have
overrun. The narrator speaks in a way that embraces Igbo culture and tradition, including stories
and songs in traditional Igbo, with a full understanding of the importance of language in this
culture. However, as the novel progresses, the view of the narrator slowly changes, coming to a
apex in the very end of the book as the District Commissioner notes that the story of Okonkwo
could make for an interesting paragraph in his upcoming book. The narrator, speaking through the
mind of the District Commissioner, is a much colder and aggressive voice than heard throughout
the rest of the novel. The District Commisioner s contemplation that the life of Okonkwo, a

language, the renaissance happened between the fifteenth century and sixteenth century. Beginning
in Italy, the Renaissance was an era that rediscovered the culture of ancient Greece and Rome in the
fourteenth century and witnessed a continuation of the economic, political, and social trends. Jacob
Burck hardt, a swiss historian and art critic, created the Renaissancein his celebrated book The
Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy, and published in 1860. He portrayed Italy in the fourteenth
and fifteenth centuries as the birthplace of the modern world and saw the revival of antiquity, the

Northern Italy was divided between the duchy of Milan and the republic of Venice. After the death
of the last Visconti ruler of Milan in 1447, Francesco Sforza, one of the leading condottieri of the
time, turned on his Milanese employers, conquered the city, and became its new duke. Both the
Visconti and the Sforza rulers worked to create a highly centralized territorial state. They were
especially successful in devising systems of taxation that generated enormous revenues for the
government. The maritime republic of Venice remained an extremely stable political entity
governed by a small oligarchy of merchant aristocrats. Its commercial empire brought in enormous
revenues and gave it the status of an international power. At the end of the fourteenth century,
Venice embarked on the conquest of a territorial state in northern Italy to protect its food supply and
its overland trade routes. Although expansion on the mainland made sense to the Venetians, it
frightened Milan and Florence, which worked to curb what they perceived as the expansionary
designs of the Venetians. Besides the five major states, there were a number of independent city
states under the control of powerful ruling families that became brilliant centers of Renaissance
culture in the fifteenth century.

24. Connection Themes In Fury And The Water Diviner
Connection EssayThe significant connection idea between my four texts is the theme of solders
fighting for their country. Soldiers back then were all fighting for their countries, they were all
wanting there country to win and did anything to make sure there country had the lead. The texts
that we picked was Fury directed by David Ayer, The Water Diviner directed by Russell Crowe,
The Prologue by Michel King and Hongi Hika: Badass of the week by Ben Thompson and the
movie I selected was The Dead Lands by Toa Fraser. The soldiers had to risk their lives to protect
their land and make sure that there country had the upper hand. In fury the American solders got
put into tanks and was put forward to fight the Germans. In the movie Fury directed by David
Ayer. There is a long shot of Norman when he is told to kill a German that is sitting right in front
of him with no intentions and no understanding of what is going on, of course he is very reluctant
to kill him. Standing right behind him is Wardaddy he is very angary and wants Norman to kill the
German very urgently and after a while of anger and pushing Norman, Wardaddy eventually holds
the gun with Norman and shoots the German. After Norman shot the German he was very shocked

As a descendant of Adam and Eve, Noah was both a blameless and righteous man who faithfully
walked alongside the Lord. Unlike the others in his generation, Noah did not allow the wickedness
to enter into his own life, and God sought favor in this. Genesis 6: 13 reveals the discussion
between God to Noah, revealing his plan to destroy every living thing under the heavens due to
the violence that seeps in the lives of all creations. The Lord instructed Noah to build an ark out
of cypress wood, accommodating the dimensions of forty five feet long, seventy five feet wide,
and forty five feet high. One the construction was completed the Lord revealed the occupants of
the ark. The individuals chosen to accompany Noah during the flood were his wife, Noah s three
sons and their wives, along with a single pair of all unclean animals, and seven pairs of all clean
animals. The Lord then instructs Noah and his occupants to enter into the ark, affirming, Seven

Every living creation perished, leaving Noah and the other occupants of the ark as the only
remaining creatures on the earth. The waters cleansed the earth from all sin, giving the Lord a

year and seventeen days on the ark, the Lord instructed Noah and his family to bring the animals
out onto the newly cleansed land so that they can be fruitful and increase in numbers. Once the
task was complete, Noah set out on a task of building an altar and made a sacrificial burnt

26. Theme Of Dreams In Troilus And Criseyde
Chaucer also demonstrates that dreams are layered with meaning and may serve as a tool for an
intertextual analysis of literature and poetry when amalgamated into poems themselves. It
encourages metareflection and the use of dream visions within Chaucer s work alternates between a
formulaic device or a significant and divine vision into the future. It becomes apparent that the
dream is an effective and fundamental device for writing narratives that question reality, faith, and
agency. The dreams in Troilus and Criseydetake various forms, altering shape under careful
observation.
Criseyde s dream is seemingly a prophetic somnium, which predict future events or divulge hidden
truths of the past. In addition, it can also be strongly argued that this dream is fabricated from the
subconscious of Criseyde as she is already starting to love Troilus, however, is not wholly ready to
acknowledge this, even to herself. These two interpretations add further evidence of ambiguity in
Chaucer s work as it remains uncertain which one was intended by the author. Perhaps Chaucer too
was questioning the established attitudes of his contemporary society in such a way that can be
seen to predict future theories of human understanding and dream interpretations.
Boccaccio s indifferent mentions of the heart is referenced to internal thoughts or in relation to
the affliction of love sickness. However, there are three instances where Troilo refers to Criseida
as heart of my body, and two where Criseida returns this expression. The wording implies the
exchange of hearts, a motif only included in Troilo s dream of Criseida and the boar. (VII. 24)
Boccaccio s desire may have been for his Italian readers to grasp the literal implication of how
the beast s attack on the woman s heart will hurt the hero s heart because her heart is also his vice
versa. Chaucer explores this motif in Criseyde s dream of the white eagle, which according to
Medieval allegory and moral, received both favourable and unfavourable interpretations.
Chaucer depicts a characteristically fierce bird of prey who viciously devours flesh with severe
ferocity: the longe clawes that rente her breast initially threatens Criseyde with physical harm. (II.

avoid facing is that while we are very generous in charitable giving, much of that money is either
wasted or actually harms the people it is targeted to help (pg. 1). Wrapped in this sentence are
several themes that Lupton seeks to unpack throughout his work. He lays the foundation for the
need of charitable reform by providing examples and insight into instances where charitable giving
can harm where it intended to help. Then he goes on to provide numerous examples of charitable
giving that helps instead of harms its recipients. Throughout the book he contributes ways to turn
harmful giving into helpful giving. Lupton accounts his four decades... Show more content on

though because I enjoy long rides I didn t sleep the whole ride.
On June 29 I woke up at about 7am with the sun shining through my French doors and my bird
singing it was a beautiful morning and I was excited for what the day had ahead. We had left at
12 in the afternoon. The count of everyone in the car including the dogs was 8 it was me my
brother Jacob, my mom ,my dad , and my sister Mallory . On the way there we saw some cool
things like the seven magic mountains which are like seven tall stacks of boulders that are
painted. I took a 20 minuet nap when I woke up we were in the beautiful Las Vegas we were
actually just entering the Las Vegas strip. If you have never been to the Las Vegas strip I will tell
you what it looks like so you can get a little picture in your head of where I was when I woke up.

Midterm Paper When we look at the United States, we see a a nation found on the basis of
Christianity which is put together to follow the bible and principles of God. Yet we live in a
world where at some public school s like Kankakee School District 111 that I attended where the
bible isn t taught or spoke on in classes. Although at private schools they focus on Christianity
because of the school being private rather than public. I feel like Christianity should be taught in
public schools just like private school s teach it because some families can afford to send their
children to private school s, while other families are less fortunate that they have to send their
children to a public school. Within the ever changing population growth and the changing of
religious views, it s becoming difficult keeping the Christian value in public school systems since
new religions and new beliefs are flooding into the nation let alone the school systems. I see that
private educationcost thousands of dollars each semester to stay in school while public school
doesn t cost nearly a few hundreds of dollars if any. Public school s get treated so differently than
private school s in every way because at private school s you get a uniform whereas public school
s parents spend money to make sure students have clothes to wear five days of the week. Private
school s focus on religious beliefs with uniforms, statues, buildings and etc, while public schools

33. Andy Warhol And His Influence On Art
When someone is asked to name the most famous artists in history, they usually point out all the
classics; van Gogh, da Vinci, Monet, and Picasso. However, even though they are all extremely
renowned, Andy Warhol is right up in that list of top guns. His style of art was a major influence
on art today; in fact, Andy Warholis one of the most significant artists of the 20th century.
Various famous people come from a modest life and Andy Warhol is one of them. He was born
to Slovakian immigrants as Andrew Warhola in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 6, 1928. His
father and mother were Ondrej and Julia Warhola and he was the youngest of three boys. His
father worked in construction while his mother did work as an embroiderer. They were
Byzantine Catholics and raised their sons the same. Andy Warhol was a sickly child and would
often miss school due to chorea, a disease that is connected to the nervous system. However,
Warhol s mother was an artistic person and introduced him to art whenever he was sick at home
and Warhol loved it. When Andy Warhol was fourteen, his father died. In his will, he wanted his
youngest son to use the money to go toward a further education. Andy Warhol graduated high
school in 1945 and enrolled at the Carnegie Institute for Technology. After graduating in 1949 with
a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Warhol moved to New York City.

movie The Last Mohicans , which based of the bloody true event of the French and Indian War in
1757, is certainly no exception. The film portrays the interactions, as well as relationships between
the two Native American tribes, the French, and the English. In the beginning, there was no

tribes until the main Huron, Magua, led the British troop into a Huron ambush while escorting them

Despite having a somewhat uncertain alliance, the Natives treated the soldiers with respect, even
referring to commanders as their English Fathers . Frontiersmen, or colonists, also were also
honored, due to the tight bond they shared with the tribe in everyday life. In comparison to the
vengeful enemy, the small tribe acted on keeping the English colonists, as well as the military, safe
from the French and their ally. To counteract the quiet ambush style of the Hurons, many survival
techniques such as walking along a waterfall to mask the sound of movement were shown to the
few English to conceal their position. These procedures kept the few still standing English alive,
without the tops of their heads cut off (for the time being). Albeit most interactions were positive,
some were going against the unwritten alliance. Seeing many colonists houses decimated and the
inhabitants killed, it was understandable for the men to want to get back home and defend the
remaining frontier homes. However, the English commanders would not allow them to return
home to defend their own land, as previously promised. Seeing them so desperate and witnessing
the horrors of what the Hurons could do, the Mohicans decided to help the colonists escape from
the Fort, but for a price. Considered to now to be traitors, the English captains took them prisoner in
hand bindings, as if they had not saved them from certain death from French soldiers and Huron
tribesmen countless of times. Overall, the relationship was mostly beneficial for the English,
whereas the Mohicans only really prevented themselves from becoming prisoners of the king

Making the choice to apply for a mortgage is a huge decision. However, there is no scarcity of
decisions to be made when applying for one. You must decide which lender you are going to pick
and determine whether a fixed or an adjustable rate will suit you best. And then you are compelled
to make the biggest decision of all. Paying a 30 year mortgage loanis quintessential, however, this
standard mortgagelength is not written in stone. You can choose to pay off your mortgage sooner
with a 15 year loan.
Choosing a 15 year mortgage loan over a 30 year mortgage loan has several benefits. One benefit of
choosing a 15 year term is being able to pay off your home loan quickly. This option is perfect for

By paying an extra $100 each month, you can reduce the amount of interest you pay by $22,816.95
leaving the lifetime of the loan at $114,799.44 in interest.
That being said, if you wanted to make extra payments on the 30 year mortgage loan and pay it
off like a 15 year loan, you would have to do it diligently because the interest rates are higher and
you could mess it up if you don t pay the difference religiously. However, if money gets tight, then
you don t have to make that extra payment if you cannot afford it. Compared to the 15 year loan,
you must always pay a higher monthly payment whether you want to or not, but your interest rates
are lower.
In conclusion, making the decision between a 15 year mortgage and a 30 year mortgage is a
major decision that will have long lasting effect on your financial situation. Going over your
finances before choosing a term is crucial. If you are wanting to pay off your mortgage before
retiring, it would be wise to go over your finances to see if your income can support higher
payments. If you are a first time home buyer, looking at every aspect such as how much of
disposable income and personal savings you have should be taken into consideration. Having a 15

support that, it is likely in your best interest to skip the faster route and stick with the 30 year

43. Myth Gender Based Wage Gap
Myth Gender Based Wage Gap
Raaga Agraharam
Soc 101
Introduction:
On January 29, 2016, The White House Press Office released a FACT SHEET on new steps to
advance equal pay for women. This FACT SHEET states that,
the median wage of a woman working full time all year in the United States is about $39,600 only
79 percent of a man s median earnings of $50,400 (The White House, 2016).
However, many scholars and economists disagree that a gender wage gap exists. In addition,
conservative political experts and bloggers promote the notion that gender based wage gap is an
idea propagated by feminists, women empowering organizations, and progressives. However,
almost all the working women in the United States, and organizations such as Institute for Women s
Policy Research (IRWP), and American Association of University Women (AAAU), strongly
believe in the existence of the gender wage gap.
This sociological issue of equal pay for women is extremely relevant in today s environment
where women perform equal work as men in many occupations. Furthermore, with almost 50% of

44. Midas Touch From Greek Mythology
My favorite Myth is The Midas Touch from greek Mythology. The Moral of the story is that
riches are not the most important thing in life. The way this myth goes is that a satyr a half man
half goat parties to hard one night and finds himself drunk. While he was drunk he fell asleep in a
rosebush of the Palace where the king Midaslives. While he was asleep the next morning Princess
Zoe went outside and found him sleeping there and thought he was a normal goat but in reality he
was a satyr and he was ugly.
The princess called the gardener over and told him to take the thing out but then king midas
appeared and saw the creature and wanted him to stay. For the next week king Midas had
treated the satyr as a high honored guest everyone was not fond of this especially since he
barged into the palace kitchens and demanded food and wine. All the while the king treated him
like any other one of the royal family no one knew why and no one really wanted to know. For
about a week everyone dealt with it but after that they decided to end it and they kicked the satyr

45. Murder Of Emmett Till Thesis
The Murder of Emmett Till is an incredible documentary about the harsh reality of life for
African Americans in the U.S. in the 1950 s. The documentary does an amazing job of shedding
light onto this terrible period of American history by showing it s audience a very graphic
example of this time period s prejudice against African America. The Murder of Emmett Till
focuses on a case in 1955 in which a 14 year old African American boy was ruthlessly murdered for
supposedly flirting with a white woman. The intention of this magnificent documentary are made
fairly clear to its audience as the video progresses; its intentions were to inform the audience about
this gruesome case, the time period in which it occurred along with suggestions on how... Show

Many of the interviews included in the film are those of friends, family, and witnesses. The most
impacting of those interviews were those that included friends and family. The film reached out
to Till s mother and was able to interview and she really tied the documentary together, often she
would speak about her deceased son and how his death impacted her and the rest of the African
American community. Moses Wright who was there when Bryant kidnapped Emmet was also
very impactful, he tried to convince the kidnappers to give the boy a whipping, instead of doing
the unthinkable, of course, they didn t listen and took the boy. Many other friends and family of
Till were interviewed as well, many of which described Till and his personality. This allowed the
audience to build an image of Emmet Till, which also something many documentaries fail to do.
An ordinary documentary would give the audience cold hard facts about the case, The Murder of
Emmet Till, however; builds upon emotion by building up these people like an author would build
a character. The film uses the audience s emotions to emphasize the importance and tragedy of this
event, the use of emotion also encourages the audience to care more about what happened. Instead
of relying on pure facts, which often only appeal to only some people, they use emotion which
appeals to all and they, of course, include facts to support their overall

Importance of Parking Stickers in Silliman University
Notably, schools and universities that have vast campus area also have systemized rules on
campus accessibility, may it be for individuals or for vehicles. For individuals, identification cards
are used for entry, while for vehicles, parking stickers. Over the years, parking stickers in Silliman
University give access to campus privilege. It also gives parking sticker holders designated area to
park their vehicles. In order to promote the welfare of Sillimanians inside the campus, parking
rights should be controlled through the use of parking stickers in order to promote and maintain an
organized, accessible, and safe University campus (Silliman University vehicle policy 1).
Parking stickers help to maintain an organized University campus (Silliman University vehicle
policy 1). In order to maintain an organized University campus, there are privileges that should be
abided as to the vehicle policy issued by Silliman University. Such as, an individual agrees that he
/she will not bring on the school grounds nor keep in his/her vehicle while it is on campus any

How society is observed as it transmits to air travel has a great deal to do with September 11,
2001. As a result of this tragic event, the judgments of the world have become increasingly
profound to the background of passengers traveling on planes. It has shaped something of a
undesirable perception for particular cultures and beliefs. This discourages people to travel with
other passengers or airline, directly affects the airline industry (Reilly.N.J, 2010) 2.4 Technological
Technological developments have both created new opportunities as well as threats for the aviation
industry. Development in information and communication technologies has enabled strong
communication and has consequently provided customers with an alternative for frequent
travelling, for example; Qantas Frequent Flyer programs. Airlines are now able to expand their
outreach directly to consumers through e commerce. For example, airlines like Qantas are able to
introduce ticketless travel through the use of technology (Thompson and Gamble, 2012). 2.5 Legal
The implementation of the carbon tax had a negative affect on the aviation industry, as the airlines
could not absorb the higher cost of fuel. This meant to offset costs travelers would pay extra in
ticket prices (Herald, 2011). Some governments provide subsidies that provide an unfair advantage
and prices lower than market conditions which affects the functioning of airline industries directly

50. Compare And Contrast Renaissance And Humanism
Renaissance, which means rebirth in French, might be defined as the awakening of art, literature,
architecture and learning in Europe between fourteenth and mid sixteenth centuries through the
contribution of classical sources. Despite the fact that it was originated in Italy, it started to spread
throughout Europe and contributed to the transition from the Medieval Age to the modern one.
Proponents of this movement emphatically connected themselves with the values of classical
antiquity, especially as seen in the recently rediscovered works of art of writing and history.
Additionally, they had a tendency to separate themselves from works written in the Middle Ages, a
historical period they looked upon rather negatively. According to them, the Middle Ages were set
in the center of two significantly profitable periods. In the same way, Humanism, which has an ideal
of placing human beings at the center of the universe rather than God, was the major intellectual
movement of the Renaissanceand then it became the dominant sophisticated movement in Europe in
the 16th century. Supporters of this movement asserted that humanistic studies, comprising of the
examination and imitation of the established culture of Ancient Rome and... Show more content on

was the evolution of Renaissance humanism as a method of thinking. During this period, people

affecting painting, literature and science, Renaissance and Humanism had several influences on the

51. Dieting Crazes In America
Along with body dissatisfaction, dieting crazes have been a new phenomenon that have
spawned from media s ideal body image. The dieting and weight loss industry makes
approximately sixty billion dollars annually (Williams). That is twenty million dollars more than
it made just twenty years ago (Iggers). This is because sixty seven percent of women are trying
to lose weight. The sad part is that fifty three of these women are a healthy body weight ( Survey
). This increase in the past twenty years has everything to do with the plethora of media influences
in everyday lives. It has created dietingcrazes that are extremely lacking in nutrients and almost
inhumane. Juicing has become the newest fad since stars like Nicole Richie and Gwyneth Paltrow...

The problem is, there is very little nutrients in this diet. No proteins, no complex carbohydrates,
and no healthy fats, Just what you can get out of a juiced fruit or vegetable which still has less
nutrients than a whole one. A person will definitely lose weight while on this diet because they
are practically starving themselves. The American Journal of medicine has even published a
study that shows oxalate induced acute kidney failure caused by juicing and yet people still
juice (Gonzalez). The juicing fad started with celebrities and spread through media to woman
who strive to look like the celebrities endorsing the crazy diet. Juicing is one of many diets
prevalent in the media right now and that another issue. There are so many different diets
showing up in magazines, on television, or on social media that people are setting themselves up
for an eating disorder. Starting with simple diets like low fat, no fat, low carb, no carb, vegetarian,
vegan, and escalating to The Paleolithic Diet, gluten free, diet pills, and the Atkins Diet, people do
not know what to eat. The media has influenced all these diets and the people who fall for them are

52. Volcanic Eruptions Can Have On The Ozone Layer
In today s day and age, when you hear the word global warming , the first thing you tend to think
about is car emissions or large nuclear power plants killing the ozone layer. However, you never
think about natural causes of climate change such as solar activity or volcanic eruptions. Volcanic
eruptions can impact global climate changedrastically, and play a much larger role than expected.
Volcanic eruptions contribute to climate variability, but quantifying these contributions has been
limited by inconsistencies in the timing (Sigl, Winstrup, McConnell, Welten, Plunkett, Ludlow,
BuМ€ntgen, Woodruff, Abstract Paragraph). These inconsistencies consequently make the
awareness drop, therefore, people are unaware of the true dangers volcanic eruptions can have on
the ozone layer itself. The Ozone is one of the very few things protecting us from massive doses of
ultraviolet radiation, which is the leading cause of skin cancer. Without the ozone protecting the
Earth, Earth will be extremely too hot for humans too live and prosper.
Temporarily, Volcanoes can create a shading from earths incoming solar radiation , and can last for
months at a time depending on the severity of the eruption (UCAR, 2016, p.1). Although, the
overall effect of volcanic eruptions plays a very serious role in global warming, and without proper
precautions the ozone could detrimentally be harmed forever. What do people take for granted
when discussing Global Warming and the killing of the Ozone

53. The Godfather 1970s
In the 1970s television was a huge hit, they had several popular tv shows made in the 1970s such
as Hl also be remembered as the last decade of domination by three networks, before the VCR
became a household item, before cable service. There were several movies made in the 70s that
were based on very popular books such as a top selling book in the 1960s by then unknown
author Mario Puzo, called The Godfather. In 1970 filming began for the movie version, directed
by Francis Ford Coppola. The Godfather, according to many people it was the best movie of the
decade and even some say, of all time. The decade concluded with Hollywood filmmakers willing
to experiment or take chances with the kind of the dark, quirky films that the seventies will be best
remembered for.
