Essay On Marijuana
Crafting an essay on the subject of marijuana can be both challenging and intricate due to the
multifaceted nature of the topic. The discourse surrounding marijuana involves a complex
interplay of scientific, medical, legal, social, and ethical aspects. It requires a thorough
understanding of the historical context, the evolution of public perceptions, and the ongoing
debates regarding its legalization.
One of the challenges lies in presenting a balanced view that considers the diverse perspectives
on marijuana use. The topic is polarizing, with advocates emphasizing its potential medical
benefits and proponents expressing concerns about its possible negative consequences. Striking a
nuanced and unbiased tone while addressing these conflicting viewpoints demands careful
research and critical analysis.
Moreover, the legal landscape surrounding marijuana varies significantly across different regions
and jurisdictions. Keeping abreast of the ever-changing legal status and its implications is crucial
for providing an accurate and up-to-date portrayal of the subject. This complexity adds an extra
layer of difficulty to the essay-writing process, requiring meticulous attention to detail and
continuous monitoring of legislative developments.
Furthermore, delving into the scientific aspects of marijuana necessitates a deep understanding
of its chemical composition, physiological effects, and potential therapeutic applications. This
demands a grasp of various disciplines, including pharmacology, neurobiology, and medicine,
making the research process more intricate.
Incorporating relevant statistical data and case studies further enhances the essay's credibility,
but it also requires sifting through a vast amount of information to ensure accuracy and
relevance. Analyzing the social impact of marijuana use involves exploring issues such as
stigmatization, public health concerns, and the potential for social change. This adds another
layer of complexity, requiring a comprehensive examination of sociological and anthropological
perspectives.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of marijuana demands a careful and thorough
exploration of its multifaceted dimensions. It involves navigating through scientific, legal, and
social complexities, all while maintaining objectivity and balance. Successfully tackling this
challenge requires a combination of extensive research, critical thinking, and the ability to
synthesize information from various disciplines. For those seeking assistance with such essays or
similar academic tasks, resources like HelpWriting.net provide professional support and

Two Other Aspects In The Health Category Are Life
Expectancy
Two other aspects in the health category are life expectancy and infant mortality
rates. The United Arab Emirates has a life expectancy rate of 76.96 years and an
infant mortality rate of 12.7%, which this mortality rate seems high, but sadly are
much higher ones out there. Oman has a life expectancy rate of 76.59 years and an
infant mortality rate of 16.8%, a little higher than the UAE s. Saudi Arabiahas a life
expectancy rate of 75.50 years and an infant mortality rate of 11.5%, a little lower
than the UAE s. But when comparing the UAE to countries like Brazil and India,
they are lucky. India s life expectancy is 66.21 years, which is the lowest of all six of
the countries that have been compared throughout this paper, and an infant... Show

Saudi Arabia has a poverty rate of 12.7% and China, with the lowest, has a poverty
rate of 6.1%. China s poverty rate seems rather low, but when you do the math, they
have about 78 million people who are living below the poverty line, which is a little
over eight times the population of the United Arab Emirates. India and Oman have
very similar poverty rates and the two highest in this comparison. India has a rate of
29.8% and Oman, with the highest at 32%.
There must be some reason for the high poverty rates, let s look at the income
inequality in all seven of these countries, starting with the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE has a Gini coefficient, a statistical measure of the degree of variation or
inequality represented in a set of values, of 36% (Wikipedia, 2017). It also has a
GDP per capita of $43,048.85, which seems very high for a country with a 20%
poverty rate. Oman, although I have not found a Gini coefficient, has a GDP per
capita of $21,929.01, which is about half of the UAE s. Saudi Arabia has a Gini
coefficient of 45.9% and it has a GDP like Oman s at $25,961.81. Brazil has a Gini
coefficient of 51.1%, which means that the wealth isn t very spread around and
many people are poor. Brazil s GDP per capita is $11,208.08, which is almost four
time lower than the UAE s, but maybe that is because Brazil has a much larger
population than the UAE. China has a Gini coefficient of 42.2% and a low GDP per
capita of $6,807.43. China
Integrating Special Education Children
Disadvantages of Integrating Special Education Children in Regular Classrooms Few
topics have as much controversy as inclusion of children with special needs in regular
classrooms. Few professionals question the appropriateness of inclusion of students
with disabilities in regular classes. However, significant debate about which students
should form part of the general education classes and the time they should spend in
those classes persists. This has led to two groups, one for, and the other against
inclusion. There are those who think that all students belong to regular education.
This group claims that all students have a right to attend school with their peers and
this can only occur within a single system where all students form the learning
community. Secondly, the group claims that all students can benefit from education
through supportive learning in inclusive settings. Third, they cite stigma as
unfavorable to the children s welfare. Lastly, they observe that the approaches used in
special classes do not significantly differ from those used in regular classes
(Zwaagstra et al. 13). Conversely, the other group believes that only students who
meet certain standards should be included in regular classes. The group supports
inclusion only under unique conditions. This group observes in regular classrooms
instructors cannot offer some of the services that students with disabilities need.
Additionally, they claim that instructors in regular classrooms may lack the
Kate Chopin s The Storm Essay
Kelly Obert Professor Dr. Firtha English 1B January 17, 2016 The Storm by Kate
Chopin. While it has traditionally been men who have attached the ball and chain
philosophy to marriage, Kate Chopin gave readers a woman s view of how
repressive and confining marriage can be for a woman, both spiritually and sexually.
While many of her works incorporated the notion of women as repressed beings
ready to erupt into a sexual a hurricane, none were as tempestuous as The Storm. A
storm can have several meanings, an aggressive ruckus of the environment with
thunder, lighting, snow, powerful winds and rain, or a violent response, when it is
broken down it just depends on the individual s analysis of the explanation. In the
fiction story The Storm by Kate Chopin(1851 1904) she associates the images of
essential elements of a storm as a representation to depict the emotionfrom the
beginning, during, end and after the erotic sexual rendezvous bounded by the
characters Alcee and Calixta as well as molding a captivating tone, and a
reminiscent affair in a generation where it was frowned upon for woman to voice
their sexual urge, above all pledging infidelity. An analogy is displayed in our
language daily, there is always something compared to another. The storm is used in
this story to connect the actions and feelings from the beginning, during, end and
after the sexual urge between the two characters Alcee and Calixta. The storm rapidly
appeared lacking trailing great trial.
Comparing Machiavelli s The Prince And Letter To
Francesco...
Niccolo Machiavelli, a Renaissance philosopher and historian, is regarded as one of
the founders of classical political philosophy and political science. To this day,
scholars continue to debate whether the Florencian writer is more sympathetic to the
few or the many. With some of his texts containing views contradicting the others, it
is difficult to contend whether or not the philosopher is a true democrat. Despite
many of Machiavelli s seemingly democratic views and ideas, his personal ideology
appears to be more of a Republican nature. His republicanismis most informed by his
remarks on the people, nobles, and ideal state structure. Through analysis of his
writings in The Prince and The Discourses , and his Letter to Francesco Vettori,...

If there is a minority, then the majority is much too large and may even impede on
it. Democrats govern by the masses according to majority rule, leading to critics
labeling the structure as a tyranny of the majority because of the lack of legal
preservation of rights. For republicans, however, justice is administered
accordingly with set rules and guidelines, so as not to infringe upon the minority.
Machiavelli recognized the ongoing tensions between the few and many, each
trying to control the other, but never regarded it as an issue. In Discourses he
writes, In every republic there are two different inclinations: that of the people and
that of the upper class, and that all the laws which are made in favor of liberty are
born of the conflict between the two. (I IV). Here, Machiavelli actually sees this
conflict as a source of political stability, necessary for the growth of every Republic.
Without tension, that would mean there is no coexistence between regimes and only
a single type left to dominate the platform. The existence of a dominant upper class
was necessary to keep a Republic in check; otherwise a, democracy could emerge
and dominate the political sphere. Machiavelli s sympathy to the few emerges from
his view of human nature. The reason why the philosopher has many critics is
because his writings tend to sound quite evil, dark, and gruesome in nature. To others,
Whaling African Americans
Whaling
Whaling was very physical and economic business and the primary products were
spermaceti, whale bones, sperm, and whale oil. The Native Americans used whaling
for tribal purposes. The colonist in NEw ENgland hunted whales for baleen and oil.
Whaling also gave them better burning candles. This is how the number of hales
began to decrease as time went on.
Moreover, whales were hunted for mainly oil, because of this, colonists were hunting
whales for half a century. To make the oil they carried pots on their ships, they would
cook the oil after they hunted the whale and they put them in barrels. Since the oil
was extremely hot, it wouldn t spoil, so it was good for long voyages. Whale teeth
were also used. The sailors would use the teeth to pass the time. They made things for

Baleen is used in corset stays, umbrella ribls, carriage springs, and fishing poles. It s

Hurricane Irma Descriptive Writing
It was an extremely stormy night. That made sense, because Hurricane Irma was
hitting. I was heading to Mr. Boddy s mansion for dinner. I got there kind of late so
everyone was already there. The wind had blown off a few shingles. I hurried inside
knowing there was much stronger winds to come. The table was set. I found a place
to sit along with all of the other invited guests. We start eating when the lights start to
flicker.
The wind is getting pretty rough . Said Mr. Plumb, just as the wind started picking up
and the lights went black.
Mr. Boddy had gone to get a generator while everyone else went to the window to
watch the storm. Boddy was gone for a while, so the other guests went to check on
him. I stayed back and kept watching the storm. This is when I heard a scream. I
ran down the hallway to find Mr. Boddy and the others. When I got there, I saw
everyone crowded around Mr. Boddy s body.
I was freaked out, so I ran to the door, and then remembered Hurricane Irma was on
the other side. I walked back in and picked up the phone to call 911. I dialed the
number and nothing. With it being plugged into the wall and there being no power,
I realized it wouldn t work. I grabbed my cell phone, but there was no service. I
knew the storm could produce tornados with EF3 or larger tornados. With a murderer
in the building and a possible tornado outside, I was shaking.
I walked around the mansion, gathering everyone in
The Great Depression And The People Of The 1970 S
In today s day and age when people think of country music they imagine the
classics, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Strait and many more. When people
think of a redneck, they imagine a diehard country boy, who loves his country with
a confederate flag in one hand and a beer in the other. But that is our generations
take on these two words. The real question here is what did those two words mean
to the people who came up with them and defined them. It couldn t have been easy. It
was no surprise that people were still recovering from the Great Depressionand the
more recent recession. Families were left destitute, men were working factory jobs
for less than minimum wage, if that, and people had just about given up hope. In the
time of turmoil and pain, these people of the 1970 s found a way to give themselves
something to believe in. The songs that the artists wrote, sang and performed gave
these individuals something to believe in and something to look forward to. One day
they knew they could have that dream. Sure, not all of the country musicat the time
was upbeat and about the future. It dwelled on the past like the Great Depression
and when Americans lost everything, but it made the people of the 1970 s want to
work that much harder to make something of themselves. People were determined to
take a stand and make a change. The development of redneck and country culture
came from the idea of a better life for the people of America in the 1970 s. This

Summary Of Orczy s The Scarlet Pimpernel
The book was written by Hungarian Aristocrat Baroness Emmuska Orczy, and the
book takes on the viewpoint of one who sympathizes with the French aristocrats
during the Reign of Terror. For being a book on historical fiction, it was a fairly
easy read. The purpose of the book is to entertain the readers. Orczy accomplished
that and then some with this book. Following Marguerite Blakeney, formerly
Marguerite St. Just, on a wild adventure filled with suspense and danger, The Scarlet
Pimpernel is a fast pace book that captures and holds the interest of readers. The one
character of the book who stood out the most as being frightened was Marguerite
Blakeney. Throughout the book there were instances of her being frightened and not
knowing how to proceed when first her brother and then her husband were in danger.
In saving her brother, Marguerite was forced into helping Chauvelin find the identity
of the Scarlet Pimpernel (pg69). She later comes to the realization that the Scarlet
Pimpernel is none other than her husband, Percy... Show more content on

The detail used made it easy to picture what the characters were going through. It
showed both the beauty and horrific images the characters came across. The
imagery used also made the book more fun and interesting to read. When the
author uses very little imagery in their writing, it can be difficult to read through
the book. Orczy made the book a breeze to get through. Another thing that was well
done in the book was the use of suspense. Trying to find out who the Scarlet
Pimpernel was kept the reader flipping through the pages. The clues laid down for
the reader to find were great. It made the book take on a life of its own. When
guesses at who the Scarlet Pimpernel were formed, the urge to know whether or not
they were correct kept the reader ensnared in the book. This made the book a very
easy read, which is always nice when the reader has to read the

films epilogue. The film take place during 1954 and 1957. In these years is when the
guerrilla fighters reformed and then expanded into the Casbah. These fighters were
battling French paratroopers who were attempting to reclaim territory. This film is

The FLN recruits a new program to purge the Casbah of drugs and prostitution,
which the French have encouraged and tolerated, in order to prepare the people for
the fight against the French. After this movement, the FLN start to the assassinate
French policemen. At this point, the director is trying to show that the
revolutionary violence is not directed toward French citizens. The French are the
ones who raise the stakes by placing a bomb in the Casbah. Most shockingly, they
strike Algerian families while they are asleep. Naturally, the Algerians want revenge
so the FLN take three Muslim women, dress them in European fashion, make them
look like a French citizen and give them baskets with bombs in them. The women
put their bombs in crowded French areas such as an airport, a cafe, and an ice cream
parlor. By showing the death and destruction that had been formed by the bombings,
the director, in my opinion, appears to be defending the need of terrorist tactics
without exaggerating them. As a result of the bombings, the French government
sends paratroopers to Algiers. After defeating a strike from the FLN, one of the
French commanders uses torture until the FLN leadership in Algiers is ruined. The
same French commander believes that is a win for his people in the

Essay about The Power of the River in Hermann Hesse s...
For ages, the river has been a sign of eternity and has served as a symbol of
spiritual awareness to many people (Rahula 39). The river in Siddhartha, by Hermann
Hesse, is an important symbol. Hesse provides many references to the river
throughout his novel, and it serves many purposes in his writing.
Siddhartha who is the main character, grows up with his father and mother on a
riverbank, in India. He decides to leave the world of the Brahmins to seek his own
way. Govinda, Siddhartha s companion, follows him to the world of the Samanas.
After a few years with the Samanas, Siddhartha decides that he wants to move on yet

It is continually moving and changing, yet it is always there. Life exists in
everything, and though everything is continually changing, it still exists as one
universe. Siddhartha realizes the circularity as he rows his raft across the river to
find his son, who had run away from him a short time before. As he is crossing the
river, he hears the river laughing at him.*
He saw his face reflected in the quietly moving water, and there was something in
this reflection that reminded him of something he had forgotten and when he
reflected on it, he remembered. His face resembled that of another person, whom
he had once known and loved and even feared. It resembled the face of his father,
the Brahmin. He remembered how once, as a youth, he had compelled his father
to let him go and join the ascetics, how he had taken leave of him, how he had gone
and never returned. Had not his father also suffered the same pain that he was now
suffering for his son? Had not his father died long ago, alone, without having seen
his son again? Did he not expect the same fare? Was it not a comedy, a strange and
stupid thing, this repetition, this course of events in a fateful circle? (Hesse 131
132). This symbolism of the river demonstrates ?the circularity of life, in how
Siddhartha s fate resembled that of his father?(Mileck 62).
In Siddhartha, the river serves as a boundary between worlds. After Siddhartha lives
with the Samanas, he realizes that practicing

nitrogen oxide which causes pollution to the environment and could lead to acid rain.
Coal is a nonrenewable source of energy.
Coal is decreasing fast because we consume it to much.
Coal mines destroy the environment and put the people mostly the coal miners in
serious danger.
Oil Advantages
Oil has one of the highest energy densities. That means that only a small amount of
oil can create a large amount of energy.
Oil is spread in almost every part of the world.
There is also a huge infrastructure to transport oil to other places through ships,
pipelines and tankers. That means that oil is very convenient all over the world.
Oil is not really that hard to make. Oil is being mined off of the coasts in seas and
also tar sands. Oil Refinery Technology is also very old, which states that getting
products out of it such as diesel and petrol are also easy to make.

Transactional Leadership In Nursing Essay
There is quite a difference between the two types of leadership. The transactional
approach features positive and negative reinforcement, transformational leadership
emphasizes motivation and inspiration. One doesn t have to be part of nursing
management to be a true nursing leader, there are unlimited opportunities for nurses
to exercise leadership (Grossman and Valiga, 2013, p. 80). Here are some of the
characteristics of transactional leaders: Focused on short term goals Favor structured
policies and procedures Thrive on following rules and doing things correctly Revel in
efficiency Very left brained Tend to be inflexible Opposed to change The major
characteristics of transformational leadership include Engendering trust Admiration
Loyalty Respect amongst followers through application of charismatic vision and
behavior Transactional leadership styles are more concerned with maintaining the
normal flow of operations. Transactional leadership is described as making contact

I always act as a positive role model and encourage others to be the best nurse they
can be. It s always nice to hear compliments and praise, which leads to being
motivated and increased self esteem, and giving higher levels of care. As it says in
Chapter 4, it creates an empowered environment where nurses feel they make a
difference (Grossman and Valiga, 2013, p. 74). When there is higher moral on the
units, patients also sense difference, and it shows with a positive patient outcomes.
Acting as a transformational leader, people will look up to you as a role model and
trust you judgments and decisions. I feel as though when people work together and
praise one another, more gets accomplished and goals are reached faster. Since we
all spend many hours at work, it s important to like what we do for job satisfaction,
and transformational leadership definitely promotes this
My Interest Towards Family Medicine
My interest towards family medicine began during my early childhood years. I
grew up in a small and developing city called Salalah, Oman where health care
resources were sparse. Back in 1990 s, immigrants from low income and middle
class families could not afford health care. My mother, a nurse, and her friend, a
primary care physician, were considered the healers of our neighborhood. Families
and neighbors, who were sick, wounded, or in need of medical advice, came to them
for help. I grew up watching them become the de facto healthcare resources of our
neighborhood. This inspired me to venture into the field of medicine.
After moving to New York, I was determined to take advantage of the opportunities I
had. While volunteering at a nursing home through church, I met several family
physicians and internists. I was impressed by their professionalism while interacting
with patients. All patients were treated with the same delicate care, despite their array
of debilitated statuses. Poor hygiene did not distract the physician, but rather it urged
them to provide medical care to the best of their ability. The patients felt this and their
immense gratitude was palpable. I realized how imperative it was for any physician to
value their character, attitude, and skill. My experiences inspired me to continue
volunteering at nursing homes and church events, where I could give a helping hand
to those in need. In turn, I developed a compassionate, comforting, and respectful
attitude.
Jessie Pope s Attitude toward War in the Poem Who s For...
Jessie Pope was a journalist who wrote recruitment poems for the Daily Mail
during the First World War. The poems she did write were positive propaganda
poems for the war; her objective was to stimulate patriotism in the readers so that
the men would join the forces. Pope wrote a persuasive poem where she compared
war to a game. This is illustrated in the title Who s for the game? It shows that her
attitude toward war was that it was a great big event that everyone should take part
in one way or another. The title is a short and punchy question inviting anyone to
answer. This gives the wrong impression of the war, it is misleading. Pope was
ridiculed for doing this, but if she did write the... Show more content on

This is compared to a game like rugby, which was a popular sport amongst men at
this time, whilst meaning who will rise to this duty with no fear, again appealing to
masculine instinct and encouraging men to recruit. The final line: And who thinks
he d rather sit tight? In other words she is asking who would rather be a coward and
not do anything the purpose of this line is to evoke quilt within the men so when it
comes to making the decision the questions will linger in their minds. The quilt trip
was not uncommon at this time and was a useful strategy of putting them in awkward
positions felling embarrassed if they do choose not to fight but stay at home taking
the easy route. This corresponds with poetry such as For the Fallen by Laurence
Binyon.
The second verse talks of patriotism, who ll give his country a hand in fighting
against the enemy. This was known as xenophobic or jingoistic poetry a very
popular form of poetry at the time as posters such as the Kitchener appeal and other
poets were alongside this. This is again is in reference to the cowardice of those
who do not join in comparison with those willing to give their lives to their country.
The cowards are the man with a seat in the stand that are compared with the men who
want a turn to himself in the show . The reference to war
the cultural affects of national geographic Essay
Thailand is a country enveloped in much mystery and cultural tradition. This fact is
reflected very clearly in a series of pictures taken from the article, The Many Faces
of Thailand in the February 1996 issue of the National Geographic magazine, titled,
Into the Heart of Glaciers I will attempt to analyze the way in which the pictures
portray the richness of Thailands cultureand people and prove this statement about the
National Geographic s photography, They originated in a search for ways of teaching
about the third world that did not objectify and were not paternalistic but that fostered
both a sense of how lives around the globe are interconnected and a capacity for
empathetic understanding. (Collins, Lutz 3)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According the picture description, prostitution serves intercontinental clientele and
some 800,000 citizens are HIV positive and one in three prostitutes may be infected
with the virus. This photograph shows a less harmonized side of Thai life than the
first yet still maintains the theme of religion seen in the lives of many Thai people. It
shows a Thai woman pausing to respect a spirit house while being stared at by what
looks like two American men. There are many things that come to mind when seeing
this photo but one major thing is the way the men are staring at the woman. The way
in which the men are checking out the Thai woman while she is pausing to pay
respects to her religion is extremely distasteful. In my opinion National Geographic
may have been trying to say something about the way tourists treat natives when
visiting Thailand with this photograph. As for the mention of AIDS, I believe it was
brought up within this photograph because the nonchalance of sexuality is shown
here. It is very doubtful that the men are considering HIV when hiring prostitutes
while vacationing in Thailand.
Culturally the photographs tell completely different stories but are tied into the same
theme of showing Thai people to be religious and traditional. In the next photograph
the Royal Guards are shown riding in a truck that looks like a greenhouse. The
soldiers are protected from Bangkok s dirty air,
Reflection On Acuity As An English II Predictor
Reflection 27: Acuity as an English II Predictor Methods Linear regression allows
researchers to analyze cause and effect or predictive relationships among variables
(Creighton, 2007). For this assignment, I set out to conduct a regression analysis in
hopes of answering two questions: (1) is there a relationship between student scores
on Acuity, our school wide interim testing program, and their performance on the
English II state assessment?, and (2) if the relationship is significant, can Acuity
results be used to predict student performance on the state test? To conduct this
analysis I used the 2015 Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and
Careers (PARCC) English II assessment results as well as the Acuity data from the
first semester screener which was given in December 2014. This test was the last
comprehensive Acuity exam given to English II students during the 2014 2015
school year (a PARCC issued practice test was used during third nine weeks exams).
My student sample included all students who had both a December Acuity score in
the Acuity online system and a Spring 2015 PARCC score in School Status, the
school s database for teacher and student information. With these requirements, the
total sample size included 64 students. To run my statistical analysis, I created a
Google Sheet document with three columns including the student name (1), their
percent correct on the December 2014 Acuity Diagnostic test (2), and their scale

Comparison Of Hershey s And Mars Rivalry
The notorious Hershey s and Mars rivalry retains a dominant presence throughout
society. The two men behind the corporations endured and pursued their life
aspirations and goals, arising from harsh backgrounds and founding these empires
out of nothing: Milton Hershey and Frank Mars. While these men may have had
luck on their side, analyzing the history of these men, their tenacity, perseverance,
and tactics have allowed their legacies to flourish, signifying that these men were
exceptionally talented men. Both Hershey and Mars came from broken families
who had fathers who failed on multiple occasions and abandoned them to pursue
their dreams, they both decided to found their empires based on their fathers
failures. However, this allowed both of these men to grow more aware and learn not
to follow the mistakes their fathers made. Mars was able to use his creativity from
his childhood to create a combination candy bar (50), and Hershey who watched his

but Hershey s stubbornness compelled him to pursue more significant dreams,

of the USA Patriot Act to deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and
around the world, to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools, and for other
purposes. 1 It passed quickly and with little debate. Soon, encryption of information
became a topic to address and efforts took place to allow the government backdoor
access to anything encrypted by products developed within the United States. This
generated much controversy and was opposed by many organizations. It did not take

The 9/11 attacks slowed things down, and it did not take long for Congress to
respond. Two days after the attacks, Senator Judd Greggof New Hampshire stated the
need to get the information that allows (the government) to anticipate and prevent
what occurred and that encryption makers have as much at risk as we have at risk as
a nation and should understand that as a matter of citizenship, they have an
obligation to include decryption methods for government agents. 4 The effects of the
tragedy in Congress understandably took shape. One month later, the Patriot Act was
passed with overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate after the attacks (339

the bill is to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools. The bill did not explicitly
contain any cryptography provisions, but it would not take long for that topic to be

supporters for encryption had to respond immediately.

Either way: there will be disgruntled customers.
Consider the first choice: rolling the game out with the technical issues still
remaining. Yes, we would more than likely exceed our sales expectation. We are
more than certain that the game would sale, as our sales records show, but if the
customers are dissatisfied with our product that be reflected in future sales. How
would this choice change the opinions of our customers? Perhaps they would think
that compared to our previous products, this game is not what they expected, I
wasted my money, this game is not working properly and I would like a refund and
so on. How would we as an organization recover from this? Would we be able to
recover? The potential for loss is very great in this situation.
Now, consider the second choice: delaying the release of the video game allowing our
video game developers more time to resolve the technical bugs, and bring our
product up to spec. This will however prevent the organization from reaching its
projected sales goal. How would this make the customer feel? Perhaps they would
be disappointed for the additional wait, they may be very pleased with the quality of
or product once again, they may feel as is the additional wait was well worth it
because the product is outstanding. What would this mean for future sales? Increased
customer loyalty, increased sales, and we would

How Did The Beatles Influenced American Culture
When the British showed up on the scene all chaos broke loose and Beatle fever
made its way into every young girl s heart of the generation. Britain had a very
significant effect on the American music industry and the general population who
listened and enjoyed their music. The main spearhead for this Invasion was The
Beatles. One product of that invasion was Tom Petty who remembers it being
absolutely earthshaking, he also said Culturally, it changed everything in America,
and probably the world. The influence on every part of our lives was huge, from
social issues to fashion issues to music issues. From that point on, the Beatles were
the North Star for me and my generation (McGarvey, 2014). The early 60s belonged
to The Beatles, there is no denying that, everything from social subjects you would
talk about with your friends, all the way to fashion and merchandise. Their arrival
opened the doors for more British bands to make it big in America, and steal the
attention of every boy and girl who listened to the radio. A few examples of bands
the British were responsible for includes The Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, The Who,
the Animals and Manfred Mann. But how did this British Invasion happen in the first

The Beatles themselves have mentioned in interviews that Buddy Holly was an
inspiration to them which encouraged them to form a skiffle band (Robbins, 2014)

with the perfect recipe for a successful transition to the American music scene. They
borrowed the basic ingredients of rhythm and blues and country music (Robbins,
2014) from America and combined it with their own musical traditions of dancehall,
pop, and Celtic folk (Robbins, 2014). This created their own twist on rock n roll and

Skeletal Muscle Vs Muscle
In producing movement bones, support the body, and provide leverage for the
skeletal muscles of the body (Sailey, pg. 113). The muscles, skeletal muscles work
together, a system of pairs when one contracts (shorter) the other relaxes (longer) and
causes joints to move (Sailey, pg. 113). The nerves, signals are sent to the brian and
then to the synapses to muscles.
The sliding filament theory of muscle contraction is basically saying the myosin thick
filaments slide past actin thin filaments during muscle contraction. I believe the
sarcomere would be an example of this occurring.
Both skeletal and cardiac muscle are striated, however skeletal muscle is voluntary
and controls movement. While cardiac muscle is involuntary.

The Roman Citizenship System was superior to the Athenian Citizenship system
because it allowed non Romans to also become Citizens. The way that one could

every filmmaker is equipped with the artistic skills necessary to complete such an

character of Lecter as having a speaking voice with the precision of a man so

Types of Cost Drivers for The Hershey s Company:
The different types of cost drivers that are associated with The Hershey s company
can be listed as below:
A.Structural Cost Drivers:
It is more related to the selection of the location of plant, technology to be used, and
office layouts. The company must have a lot of research on these things because
these decisions are very crucial for the cost management and effectiveness of the
operation that the company conducts. So the management has to be very careful
about these long term decisions in order to save their large amount of dollar to their
company.
B.Organizational Cost Drivers:
Generally these costs occur after the structural costs. They are related to the
reorganizing of office equipment, working with a limited number of suppliers,
providing the information of cost to its employees and giving them the authority to
make decisions. These decisions have a moderate level of difficulty to change.
C.Activity Based Cost Drivers:
Generally, every activity that a company does has costs. So all the activities like

Period 5 PokГ©mon Go
PokГ©mon Go is a game where people can travel around and collect gems, go to
poke stops, and catch em all! Its one of the most popular apps, it allows people to
interact with the real world but also catch PokГ©mon as they go. PokГ©mon were
first 2 D characters in their trading cards. Soon it became a Gameboy game,
introduced by Japanese video game designer, Satoshi Tajiri. In the Gameboy at first
you could become a trainer, or human character. ... Show more content on

The game works by over laying an image of PokГ©mon on top of the view from
your smartphone camera. It makes it look like the creature is right in front of you.
The app uses a compass to see which way you re phone is facing to put the
PokГ©mon creatures in the right place. It then uses your phones accelerometer
which is what tells it how fast your phone is moving. Last it uses the gyro sphere
which tells the game your location.
My scientific opion is that Pokemon Go is a virtual game that still allows people to
interact with the real world. Pokemon started out as a 2 D trading card game, sonn
a Japenese inventor came up with the Gameboy system and made a Pokemon game
for it. Now Pokemon is one of the top app store games and very popular on smart
devices. It uses lots of features on our devices . Pokemon go is a great traveling game

Caffeine Lab Report
Isolation of a Natural product, in the experiment caffeine [C8H10N4O2], is based
on a series of procedures. Firstly, it is important to examine the structure of caffeine
which is an alkaloid. Typically alkaloids are nitrogen based and found in plants,
caffeine itself is composed of a purine ring with functional groups of a amide, amine
and alkene respectively. Furthermore, Caffeine includeds a lone pair on the nitrogen
atom asserting several functional properties(Zhao et al. 206). Under examination of
the caffeine structure several intermolecular forces are present including hyrdogen
bonding, dipole dipole forces and Van der Waals forces. What this indicates is that
caffeine is a polar molecule and reacts moderatley hydrophobically in the... Show

In the solid liquid extraction all water soluble components were sepreated along
with the caffeine including the tannins. To further isolate the caffeine and obtain a
purer product it was necessary to add sodium carbonate(Zhao et al. 208). This
acidic base reaction (tannins being the acid electrophile and sodium carbonate the
base nucleophile) forms conjugate base phenolic salts. Tannins are acidic and thus
have an OH group directly bound to their aromatic ring the addition of a weaker
base allows for the deprotonation of said OH group. Then when the methylene
chloride was added the tannins, now a phenolic salt, were insoluble thus resulting in
the formation of two layers (organic and aqeous). The aqeuous layer now contains
the tannins and chlorphyll and the organic layer the caffeine. This occurs because
caffeine is more soluble in the methylene chloride and thus is separtaed into the same
layer and the tannin salts and chlorophyll which are insoluble in the methylene
chloride remain in the aqeous layer. The organic layer is extracted and undergeos
this same washing process again in order to extract the maximum amount of product.
Once enough caffeine was extracted a drying agent of anyhydrous sulfate was added
to remove any of the excess water in the organic layer and placed in a hot chamber to
evaporate off the methylene chloride. The remaining crystals underwent
recrystalization to obtain a pure substance. (Zhao et al. 208). Additional caffeine

Intellectual Women Work Through the Theories of the Talented Tenth In this article I
will attempt to demonstrate a coherent link between the actions of
Anna Julia Cooper, bell hooks, and Patricia Hill Collins as each intellectual carries
(or carried) on the work of the Talented Tenth. This research will include a discussion
of Cooper s educational work as well as her speaking career; in both areas she
advocated equal education opportunities for Black women. The central concern of
DuBois theory, his advocacy for education and the creation of an upper class of
Blacks, was thus promoted by Cooper through these vehicles. I will demonstrate that
Collins and hooks, educators as well as members of a contemporary Talented Tenth,
are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this way, we will look at the work of Anna Julia Cooper specifically, and how this
work intersects with the theory of the Talented Tenth. We will then look at
contemporary intellectuals bell hooks and Patricia Hill Collins to locate a similar
intersection with the philosophies mandated through the Talented Tenth. In each case
these women may be seen as carrying on the work of the Talented Tenth to varying
degrees. I will explore these degrees and explain the method of each intellectual as
well as the intended result. I will demonstrate the inclusiveness and exclusiveness of
each woman s efforts, and will show that a general movement towards a more
inclusive theory exists; ultimately a theory linked with practice.
Explanation:
A major goal of all three intellectuals discussed above is (or was) to further the
status of African Americans through learning. Anna Julia Cooper was both an
educator and an orator. She received her master s degree in 1884 from Oberlin
College and went on to work as a teacher at Wilberforce College, St. Augustine s
College, and the Washington D.C. Colored High School. In 1893 she was a keynote
speaker at the World s Congress of Women. According to Shirley Logan in We Are
Coming, The Persuasive Discourse of Nineteenth Century Black Women, Cooper s
speaking skills were finely tuned to reach many different audiences, and she used her
rhetoric to appeal to the common sense of her spectators

Human s Personality And Preferences May Change Over
Time
Despite the fact that human s personality and preferences may change over time,
philosophers have always sought the answers to how people have the impression that
they are the same person. At first, philosophers presumed that people need to have
the same body to be the same person. However, Locke proposed that consciousness,
which is in this case memoryis the key to determine identity. In this paper, I would
discuss how memory as the mental states grounds the notion of psychological
continuity. Raising the problem of circularity in the memory theory, I will explain
how to amend the psychological continuity to avoid the problem.
At first, philosophers used the same body theory to explain personal identity. They
assume that a person at one time is the very same person as a person later if and
only if they have the same body. However, one problem of the same body theory is
that biologically the body is constantly changing. A body ten years later would not
be the very same body at present. The problem makes the same body theory a false
condition. Therefore, it is imprudent to set the same body theory as the criteria to
determine personal identity. What thing that will remain the same even with
different bodies, that can help determine a person to be the same person earlier? The
answer is memory. Even though the body is changing over time biologically,
memories usually do not fade away with it. As a matter of fact, philosophers proposed
a new theory called the Psychological

Go About Preparing For A Writing Assignment
1.How do you typically go about preparing for a writing assignment? Describe the
steps you take, including rereading the assignment, asking questions about it, talking
to instructors or friends, jotting down ideas, gathering information, and so on. How
far in advance of the due date do you usually begin working on the assignment?
Typically, I look at the assignment as soon as I can before the due date in order to
begin the brainstorming process. This could be three months or two days prior to the
due date, depending on the situation. The early brainstorming process creates a
general path for my writing process. When I am ready to begin the writing process, I
ask myself what the purpose of the assignment is and what point I am trying to make.
I then begin researching the topic by using mostly online resources, however, books
and interviews are sometimes required. After enough information is found for my
assignment, I begin writing the assignment.
2.When and where do your best ideas come to you?
My best ideas come to me when I am either relaxed in the shower or in the middle of
an intense exercise routine. Although they are extreme opposites, they are some of
the only times that I am completely withdrawn from the outside world.
3.Where do you usually do your writing? Describe this place. Is it a good place to
write? Why, or why not?
I currently live with my sister s family and have one room in there house. I usually
do my writing in my room with the door
Be Patient For Parking Space
Yuemeng (Lena) Zhao
Professor Nava
ENGLISH 1B
13 NOV 2015
Be Patient for Parking The shortage of parking space in America s college is
becoming an extremely concerned problem. This parking issue is highly impacting
students campus life. Many college students, even faculties, and visitors find that it is
hard to park on campus, especially at some busy times. The situation is that students
would encounter parking is so scarce, and they have to wait for somebody to leave
and take their spots. Otherwise, students have to waste their time driving around and
around the parking lot. Even though students pay for their parking permit, they are
not guaranteed for a parking space. The shortage of parking space causes a lot of
trouble for students. Because of there is no parking space, students will get late for
class, which could lead their grade to get lower. In other cases, students will have
to park in a very faraway place, which they are forced to prepare more time to park
and it takes them too long to walk to their classrooms. It also increases the risk and
danger walking and driving in the parking lot. Drivers need to drive while they are
searching, which could be very dangerous. To solve the shortage of parking spaces,
colleges are suggested to build a parking structure, open more parking lot at busy
times, manage the class time to relieve the busy period and provide more pubic
transportation and bicycle services to the students.
To find better solutions, it is necessary
The War Of The American War II
World War II is one of the most prolific events in American history. While soldiers
were away on foreign soil, thousands of Americans at home were doing their part as
well. For example many citizens worked in factories across the nation producing the
supplies the military needed to accomplish their goal. When people think of the
places that most frequently furnished these products the common perception is that
most products were manufactured in the northern industrial states, although this is
not always the case. Throughout the war Louisiana played a critical role in
adequately preparing for the war. Andrew Higginshas become famous for his role in
inventing the Higgins s Craft, which played a critical role in the beach landings in...

Louisiana played an important role in nearly every aspect of America s success in
World War II, and likewise, it deserves to be highlighted. The American army lacked
adequate preparation to go to war in 1941, but that soon changed. Nearly half a
million soldiers participated in a series of military maneuvers, or games, across
mostly north Louisiana. Fourteen of the 27 divisions of the army took place in these
events. The Louisiana maneuvers have become one of the largest peacetime military
maneuvers in American history. This practice proved to be important for the army.
Brigadier Raymond H Fleming explained that everything the United States Army
had, except for bullets, would be turned loose in Louisiana. This allowed for the
soldiers, most of them being newly enlisted, to gather wartime experience. Likewise,
not all commands were fully equipped with the latest technology, but through these
games the ill equipped commands were able to see the effectiveness of the new
technology. The soldiers that endured these games went through full paced war like
maneuvers. The Army was divided into two and simulated a mock war between each
other. The two armies went back and forth between over the course of ten days. They
struggled through long hours and simulated combat. Along with the struggle of

Essay On Marijuana.pdf

  • 1. Essay On Marijuana Crafting an essay on the subject of marijuana can be both challenging and intricate due to the multifaceted nature of the topic. The discourse surrounding marijuana involves a complex interplay of scientific, medical, legal, social, and ethical aspects. It requires a thorough understanding of the historical context, the evolution of public perceptions, and the ongoing debates regarding its legalization. One of the challenges lies in presenting a balanced view that considers the diverse perspectives on marijuana use. The topic is polarizing, with advocates emphasizing its potential medical benefits and proponents expressing concerns about its possible negative consequences. Striking a nuanced and unbiased tone while addressing these conflicting viewpoints demands careful research and critical analysis. Moreover, the legal landscape surrounding marijuana varies significantly across different regions and jurisdictions. Keeping abreast of the ever-changing legal status and its implications is crucial for providing an accurate and up-to-date portrayal of the subject. This complexity adds an extra layer of difficulty to the essay-writing process, requiring meticulous attention to detail and continuous monitoring of legislative developments. Furthermore, delving into the scientific aspects of marijuana necessitates a deep understanding of its chemical composition, physiological effects, and potential therapeutic applications. This demands a grasp of various disciplines, including pharmacology, neurobiology, and medicine, making the research process more intricate. Incorporating relevant statistical data and case studies further enhances the essay's credibility, but it also requires sifting through a vast amount of information to ensure accuracy and relevance. Analyzing the social impact of marijuana use involves exploring issues such as stigmatization, public health concerns, and the potential for social change. This adds another layer of complexity, requiring a comprehensive examination of sociological and anthropological perspectives. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of marijuana demands a careful and thorough exploration of its multifaceted dimensions. It involves navigating through scientific, legal, and social complexities, all while maintaining objectivity and balance. Successfully tackling this challenge requires a combination of extensive research, critical thinking, and the ability to synthesize information from various disciplines. • 2. Two Other Aspects In The Health Category Are Life Expectancy Two other aspects in the health category are life expectancy and infant mortality rates. The United Arab Emirates has a life expectancy rate of 76.96 years and an infant mortality rate of 12.7%, which this mortality rate seems high, but sadly are much higher ones out there. Oman has a life expectancy rate of 76.59 years and an infant mortality rate of 16.8%, a little higher than the UAE s. Saudi Arabiahas a life expectancy rate of 75.50 years and an infant mortality rate of 11.5%, a little lower than the UAE s. But when comparing the UAE to countries like Brazil and India, they are lucky. India s life expectancy is 66.21 years, which is the lowest of all six of the countries that have been compared throughout this paper, and an infant... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saudi Arabia has a poverty rate of 12.7% and China, with the lowest, has a poverty rate of 6.1%. China s poverty rate seems rather low, but when you do the math, they have about 78 million people who are living below the poverty line, which is a little over eight times the population of the United Arab Emirates. India and Oman have very similar poverty rates and the two highest in this comparison. India has a rate of 29.8% and Oman, with the highest at 32%. There must be some reason for the high poverty rates, let s look at the income inequality in all seven of these countries, starting with the United Arab Emirates. The UAE has a Gini coefficient, a statistical measure of the degree of variation or inequality represented in a set of values, of 36% (Wikipedia, 2017). It also has a GDP per capita of $43,048.85, which seems very high for a country with a 20% poverty rate. Oman, although I have not found a Gini coefficient, has a GDP per capita of $21,929.01, which is about half of the UAE s. Saudi Arabia has a Gini coefficient of 45.9% and it has a GDP like Oman s at $25,961.81. Brazil has a Gini coefficient of 51.1%, which means that the wealth isn t very spread around and many people are poor. Brazil s GDP per capita is $11,208.08, which is almost four time lower than the UAE s, but maybe that is because Brazil has a much larger population than the UAE. China has a Gini coefficient of 42.2% and a low GDP per capita of $6,807.43. China
  • 3. Integrating Special Education Children Disadvantages of Integrating Special Education Children in Regular Classrooms Few topics have as much controversy as inclusion of children with special needs in regular classrooms. Few professionals question the appropriateness of inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classes. However, significant debate about which students should form part of the general education classes and the time they should spend in those classes persists. This has led to two groups, one for, and the other against inclusion. There are those who think that all students belong to regular education. This group claims that all students have a right to attend school with their peers and this can only occur within a single system where all students form the learning community. Secondly, the group claims that all students can benefit from education through supportive learning in inclusive settings. Third, they cite stigma as unfavorable to the children s welfare. Lastly, they observe that the approaches used in special classes do not significantly differ from those used in regular classes (Zwaagstra et al. 13). Conversely, the other group believes that only students who meet certain standards should be included in regular classes. The group supports inclusion only under unique conditions. This group observes in regular classrooms instructors cannot offer some of the services that students with disabilities need. Additionally, they claim that instructors in regular classrooms may lack the
  • 4. Kate Chopin s The Storm Essay Kelly Obert Professor Dr. Firtha English 1B January 17, 2016 The Storm by Kate Chopin. While it has traditionally been men who have attached the ball and chain philosophy to marriage, Kate Chopin gave readers a woman s view of how repressive and confining marriage can be for a woman, both spiritually and sexually. While many of her works incorporated the notion of women as repressed beings ready to erupt into a sexual a hurricane, none were as tempestuous as The Storm. A storm can have several meanings, an aggressive ruckus of the environment with thunder, lighting, snow, powerful winds and rain, or a violent response, when it is broken down it just depends on the individual s analysis of the explanation. In the fiction story The Storm by Kate Chopin(1851 1904) she associates the images of essential elements of a storm as a representation to depict the emotionfrom the beginning, during, end and after the erotic sexual rendezvous bounded by the characters Alcee and Calixta as well as molding a captivating tone, and a reminiscent affair in a generation where it was frowned upon for woman to voice their sexual urge, above all pledging infidelity. An analogy is displayed in our language daily, there is always something compared to another. The storm is used in this story to connect the actions and feelings from the beginning, during, end and after the sexual urge between the two characters Alcee and Calixta. The storm rapidly appeared lacking trailing great trial.
  • 5. Comparing Machiavelli s The Prince And Letter To Francesco... Niccolo Machiavelli, a Renaissance philosopher and historian, is regarded as one of the founders of classical political philosophy and political science. To this day, scholars continue to debate whether the Florencian writer is more sympathetic to the few or the many. With some of his texts containing views contradicting the others, it is difficult to contend whether or not the philosopher is a true democrat. Despite many of Machiavelli s seemingly democratic views and ideas, his personal ideology appears to be more of a Republican nature. His republicanismis most informed by his remarks on the people, nobles, and ideal state structure. Through analysis of his writings in The Prince and The Discourses , and his Letter to Francesco Vettori,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If there is a minority, then the majority is much too large and may even impede on it. Democrats govern by the masses according to majority rule, leading to critics labeling the structure as a tyranny of the majority because of the lack of legal preservation of rights. For republicans, however, justice is administered accordingly with set rules and guidelines, so as not to infringe upon the minority. Machiavelli recognized the ongoing tensions between the few and many, each trying to control the other, but never regarded it as an issue. In Discourses he writes, In every republic there are two different inclinations: that of the people and that of the upper class, and that all the laws which are made in favor of liberty are born of the conflict between the two. (I IV). Here, Machiavelli actually sees this conflict as a source of political stability, necessary for the growth of every Republic. Without tension, that would mean there is no coexistence between regimes and only a single type left to dominate the platform. The existence of a dominant upper class was necessary to keep a Republic in check; otherwise a, democracy could emerge and dominate the political sphere. Machiavelli s sympathy to the few emerges from his view of human nature. The reason why the philosopher has many critics is because his writings tend to sound quite evil, dark, and gruesome in nature. To others,

I got there kind of late so everyone was already there. The wind had blown off a few shingles. I hurried inside knowing there was much stronger winds to come. The table was set. I found a place to sit along with all of the other invited guests. We start eating when the lights start to flicker. The wind is getting pretty rough . Said Mr. Plumb, just as the wind started picking up and the lights went black. Mr. Boddy had gone to get a generator while everyone else went to the window to watch the storm. Boddy was gone for a while, so the other guests went to check on him. I stayed back and kept watching the storm. This is when I heard a scream. I ran down the hallway to find Mr. Boddy and the others. When I got there, I saw everyone crowded around Mr. Boddy s body. I was freaked out, so I ran to the door, and then remembered Hurricane Irma was on the other side. I walked back in and picked up the phone to call 911. I dialed the number and nothing. • 10. The Great Depression And The People Of The 1970 S In today s day and age when people think of country music they imagine the classics, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Strait and many more. When people think of a redneck, they imagine a diehard country boy, who loves his country with a confederate flag in one hand and a beer in the other. But that is our generations take on these two words. The real question here is what did those two words mean to the people who came up with them and defined them. It couldn t have been easy. It was no surprise that people were still recovering from the Great Depressionand the more recent recession. Families were left destitute, men were working factory jobs for less than minimum wage, if that, and people had just about given up hope. In the time of turmoil and pain, these people of the 1970 s found a way to give themselves something to believe in. The songs that the artists wrote, sang and performed gave these individuals something to believe in and something to look forward to. One day they knew they could have that dream. Sure, not all of the country musicat the time was upbeat and about the future. It dwelled on the past like the Great Depression and when Americans lost everything, but it made the people of the 1970 s want to work that much harder to make something of themselves. People were determined to take a stand and make a change. The development of redneck and country culture came from the idea of a better life for the people of America in the 1970 s. This occurred with

Summary Of Orczy s The Scarlet Pimpernel The book was written by Hungarian Aristocrat Baroness Emmuska Orczy, and the book takes on the viewpoint of one who sympathizes with the French aristocrats during the Reign of Terror. Following Marguerite Blakeney, formerly Marguerite St. Just, on a wild adventure filled with suspense and danger, The Scarlet Pimpernel is a fast pace book that captures and holds the interest of readers. The one character of the book who stood out the most as being frightened was Marguerite Blakeney. Throughout the book there were instances of her being frightened and not knowing how to proceed when first her brother and then her husband were in danger. Orczy made the book a breeze to get through. Another thing that was well done in the book was the use of suspense. Trying to find out who the Scarlet Pimpernel was kept the reader flipping through the pages. The clues laid down for the reader to find were great. It made the book take on a life of its own. Siddhartha realizes the circularity as he rows his raft across the river to find his son, who had run away from him a short time before. As he is crossing the river, he hears the river laughing at him.* He saw his face reflected in the quietly moving water, and there was something in this reflection that reminded him of something he had forgotten and when he reflected on it, he remembered. His face resembled that of another person, whom he had once known and loved and even feared. It resembled the face of his father, the Brahmin. He remembered how once, as a youth, he had compelled his father to let him go and join the ascetics, how he had taken leave of him, how he had gone and never returned. Had not his father also suffered the same pain that he was now suffering for his son? Had not his father died long ago, alone, without having seen his son again? Did he not expect the same fare? Was it not a comedy, a strange and stupid thing, this repetition, this course of events in a fateful circle? (Hesse 131 132). This symbolism of the river demonstrates ?the circularity of life, in how Siddhartha s fate resembled that of his father?(Mileck 62). In Siddhartha, the river serves as a boundary between worlds. After Siddhartha lives with the Samanas, he realizes that practicing

Coal produces high energy upon combustion. Coal is known to be very inexpensive. Coal is a reliable energy source. Disadvantages Coal energy produces a lot of carbon dioxide which leads to global warming and climate change. The burning of the coal is not friendly to the environment because it makes up harmful byproducts and gas emissions such as sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide which causes pollution to the environment and could lead to acid rain. Coal is a nonrenewable source of energy. Coal is decreasing fast because we consume it to much. Coal mines destroy the environment and put the people mostly the coal miners in serious danger. The transactional approach features positive and negative reinforcement, transformational leadership emphasizes motivation and inspiration. One doesn t have to be part of nursing management to be a true nursing leader, there are unlimited opportunities for nurses to exercise leadership (Grossman and Valiga, 2013, p. 80). • 23. My Interest Towards Family Medicine My interest towards family medicine began during my early childhood years. I grew up in a small and developing city called Salalah, Oman where health care resources were sparse. Back in 1990 s, immigrants from low income and middle class families could not afford health care. My mother, a nurse, and her friend, a primary care physician, were considered the healers of our neighborhood. Families and neighbors, who were sick, wounded, or in need of medical advice, came to them for help. I grew up watching them become the de facto healthcare resources of our neighborhood. This inspired me to venture into the field of medicine. After moving to New York, I was determined to take advantage of the opportunities I had. While volunteering at a nursing home through church, I met several family physicians and internists. I was impressed by their professionalism while interacting with patients. All patients were treated with the same delicate care, despite their array of debilitated statuses. Poor hygiene did not distract the physician, but rather it urged them to provide medical care to the best of their ability. The patients felt this and their immense gratitude was palpable. I realized how imperative it was for any physician to value their character, attitude, and skill. My experiences inspired me to continue volunteering at nursing homes and church events, where I could give a helping hand to those in need. In turn, I developed a compassionate, comforting, and respectful attitude.

The poems she did write were positive propaganda poems for the war; her objective was to stimulate patriotism in the readers so that the men would join the forces. Pope wrote a persuasive poem where she compared war to a game. This is illustrated in the title Who s for the game? It shows that her attitude toward war was that it was a great big event that everyone should take part in one way or another. The title is a short and punchy question inviting anyone to answer. It shows a Thai woman pausing to respect a spirit house while being stared at by what looks like two American men. There are many things that come to mind when seeing this photo but one major thing is the way the men are staring at the woman. The way in which the men are checking out the Thai woman while she is pausing to pay respects to her religion is extremely distasteful. In my opinion National Geographic may have been trying to say something about the way tourists treat natives when visiting Thailand with this photograph. As for the mention of AIDS, I believe it was brought up within this photograph because the nonchalance of sexuality is shown here. It is very doubtful that the men are considering HIV when hiring prostitutes while vacationing in Thailand. Reflection On Acuity As An English II Predictor Reflection 27: Acuity as an English II Predictor Methods Linear regression allows researchers to analyze cause and effect or predictive relationships among variables (Creighton, 2007). For this assignment, I set out to conduct a regression analysis in hopes of answering two questions: (1) is there a relationship between student scores on Acuity, our school wide interim testing program, and their performance on the English II state assessment?, and (2) if the relationship is significant, can Acuity results be used to predict student performance on the state test? To conduct this analysis I used the 2015 Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) English II assessment results as well as the Acuity data from the first semester screener which was given in December 2014. This test was the last comprehensive Acuity exam given to English II students during the 2014 2015 school year (a PARCC issued practice test was used during third nine weeks exams). My student sample included all students who had both a December Acuity score in the Acuity online system and a Spring 2015 PARCC score in School Status, the school s database for teacher and student information. With these requirements, the total sample size included 64 students. To run my statistical analysis, I created a Google Sheet document with three columns including the student name (1), their percent correct on the December 2014 Acuity Diagnostic test (2), and their scale score for the Spring

Firstly, it is important to examine the structure of caffeine which is an alkaloid. Typically alkaloids are nitrogen based and found in plants, caffeine itself is composed of a purine ring with functional groups of a amide, amine and alkene respectively. Furthermore, Caffeine includeds a lone pair on the nitrogen atom asserting several functional properties(Zhao et al. 206). Under examination of the caffeine structure several intermolecular forces are present including hyrdogen bonding, dipole dipole forces and Van der Waals forces. What this indicates is that caffeine is a polar molecule and reacts moderatley hydrophobically in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the solid liquid extraction all water soluble components were sepreated along with the caffeine including the tannins. To further isolate the caffeine and obtain a purer product it was necessary to add sodium carbonate(Zhao et al. 208). This acidic base reaction (tannins being the acid electrophile and sodium carbonate the base nucleophile) forms conjugate base phenolic salts. Tannins are acidic and thus have an OH group directly bound to their aromatic ring the addition of a weaker base allows for the deprotonation of said OH group. Then when the methylene chloride was added the tannins, now a phenolic salt, were insoluble thus resulting in the formation of two layers (organic and aqeous). The aqeuous layer now contains the tannins and chlorphyll and the organic layer the caffeine. This occurs because caffeine is more soluble in the methylene chloride and thus is separtaed into the same layer and the tannin salts and chlorophyll which are insoluble in the methylene chloride remain in the aqeous layer. The organic layer is extracted and undergeos this same washing process again in order to extract the maximum amount of product. Once enough caffeine was extracted a drying agent of anyhydrous sulfate was added to remove any of the excess water in the organic layer and placed in a hot chamber to evaporate off the methylene chloride. The remaining crystals underwent recrystalization to obtain a pure substance. (Zhao et al. 208). Additional caffeine extraction

Intellectual Women Work Through the Theories of the Talented Tenth In this article I will attempt to demonstrate a coherent link between the actions of Anna Julia Cooper, bell hooks, and Patricia Hill Collins as each intellectual carries (or carried) on the work of the Talented Tenth. This research will include a discussion of Cooper s educational work as well as her speaking career; in both areas she advocated equal education opportunities for Black women. The central concern of DuBois theory, his advocacy for education and the creation of an upper class of Blacks, was thus promoted by Cooper through these vehicles. I will demonstrate that Collins and hooks, educators as well as members of a contemporary Talented Tenth, are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this way, we will look at the work of Anna Julia Cooper specifically, and how this work intersects with the theory of the Talented Tenth. We will then look at contemporary intellectuals bell hooks and Patricia Hill Collins to locate a similar intersection with the philosophies mandated through the Talented Tenth. In each case these women may be seen as carrying on the work of the Talented Tenth to varying degrees. I will explore these degrees and explain the method of each intellectual as well as the intended result. I will demonstrate the inclusiveness and exclusiveness of each woman s efforts, and will show that a general movement towards a more inclusive theory exists; ultimately a theory linked with practice. Explanation: A major goal of all three intellectuals discussed above is (or was) to further the status of African Americans through learning. Anna Julia Cooper was both an educator and an orator. She received her master s degree in 1884 from Oberlin College and went on to work as a teacher at Wilberforce College, St. Augustine s College, and the Washington D.C. Colored High School. In 1893 she was a keynote speaker at the World s Congress of Women. According to Shirley Logan in We Are Coming, The Persuasive Discourse of Nineteenth Century Black Women, Cooper s speaking skills were finely tuned to reach many different audiences, and she used her rhetoric to appeal to the common sense of her spectators

Human s Personality And Preferences May Change Over Time Despite the fact that human s personality and preferences may change over time, philosophers have always sought the answers to how people have the impression that they are the same person. At first, philosophers presumed that people need to have the same body to be the same person. However, Locke proposed that consciousness, which is in this case memoryis the key to determine identity. In this paper, I would discuss how memory as the mental states grounds the notion of psychological continuity. Raising the problem of circularity in the memory theory, I will explain how to amend the psychological continuity to avoid the problem. At first, philosophers used the same body theory to explain personal identity. They assume that a person at one time is the very same person as a person later if and only if they have the same body. However, one problem of the same body theory is that biologically the body is constantly changing. A body ten years later would not be the very same body at present. The problem makes the same body theory a false condition. Therefore, it is imprudent to set the same body theory as the criteria to determine personal identity. What thing that will remain the same even with different bodies, that can help determine a person to be the same person earlier? The answer is memory. Even though the body is changing over time biologically, memories usually do not fade away with it. As a matter of fact, philosophers proposed a new theory called the Psychological

Describe the steps you take, including rereading the assignment, asking questions about it, talking to instructors or friends, jotting down ideas, gathering information, and so on. How far in advance of the due date do you usually begin working on the assignment? Typically, I look at the assignment as soon as I can before the due date in order to begin the brainstorming process. This could be three months or two days prior to the due date, depending on the situation. The early brainstorming process creates a general path for my writing process. When I am ready to begin the writing process, I ask myself what the purpose of the assignment is and what point I am trying to make. I then begin researching the topic by using mostly online resources, however, books and interviews are sometimes required. After enough information is found for my assignment, I begin writing the assignment. 2.When and where do your best ideas come to you? Be Patient For Parking Space Yuemeng (Lena) Zhao Professor Nava ENGLISH 1B 13 NOV 2015 Be Patient for Parking The shortage of parking space in America s college is becoming an extremely concerned problem. This parking issue is highly impacting students campus life. Many college students, even faculties, and visitors find that it is hard to park on campus, especially at some busy times. The situation is that students would encounter parking is so scarce, and they have to wait for somebody to leave and take their spots. Otherwise, students have to waste their time driving around and around the parking lot. Even though students pay for their parking permit, they are not guaranteed for a parking space. The shortage of parking space causes a lot of trouble for students. Because of there is no parking space, students will get late for class, which could lead their grade to get lower. In other cases, students will have to park in a very faraway place, which they are forced to prepare more time to park and it takes them too long to walk to their classrooms. It also increases the risk and danger walking and driving in the parking lot. Drivers need to drive while they are searching, which could be very dangerous. To solve the shortage of parking spaces, colleges are suggested to build a parking structure, open more parking lot at busy times, manage the class time to relieve the busy period and provide more pubic transportation and bicycle services to the students. To find better solutions, it is necessary

While soldiers were away on foreign soil, thousands of Americans at home were doing their part as well. For example many citizens worked in factories across the nation producing the supplies the military needed to accomplish their goal. When people think of the places that most frequently furnished these products the common perception is that most products were manufactured in the northern industrial states, although this is not always the case. Louisiana played an important role in nearly every aspect of America s success in World War II, and likewise, it deserves to be highlighted. The American army lacked adequate preparation to go to war in 1941, but that soon changed. Nearly half a million soldiers participated in a series of military maneuvers, or games, across mostly north Louisiana. Fourteen of the 27 divisions of the army took place in these events. The Louisiana maneuvers have become one of the largest peacetime military maneuvers in American history. This practice proved to be important for the army. Brigadier Raymond H Fleming explained that everything the United States Army had, except for bullets, would be turned loose in Louisiana. This allowed for the soldiers, most of them being newly enlisted, to gather wartime experience. Likewise, not all commands were fully equipped with the latest technology, but through these games the ill equipped commands were able to see the effectiveness of the new technology. The soldiers that endured these games went through full paced war like maneuvers. The Army was divided into two and simulated a mock war between each other. The two armies went back and forth between over the course of ten days. They struggled through long hours and simulated combat. Along with the struggle of
