3. China s Water Supply Dbq
China s water supply is in danger. Throughout time, there many glaciers, rivers, and
other sources of water until scarcity reigned. Due to Population rapidly growing,
Global Warming, and developing industries, China s water supply decreased
significantly. Population was growing to quickly, Global Warming melting and
shrinking our main sources of water, and lastly, development of industries requiring a
big supply of water for their business such as manufacturing. As you can see, these
factors has been affecting China greatly. There are three main causes of China s water
scarcity crisis: Global Warming, Population Growth/Urbanization, and
Industrialization. Of these, the biggest driver is Industrialization. China s water supply
is cut down each year from Global Warming, it is shrinking glaciers and drying up
lakes. In 2006 MSNBC reported, glaciers covering China s Qinghai Tibet are
shrinking by 7% each year due to Global Warming. The glaciers keeps the flow in
rivers during the dry season, but because of the shrinking, there is less water during
the dry season... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of rapid urbanization, people are becoming wealthier creating a lifestyle
that consumes more water (Document B). Over 800 billion cubic centimeters of
water are being used for Domestic, Agriculture, and Industry for people s daily
lifestyle (Document C). Agriculture uses up the most water each year, if China
lowers their agricultural water use, then China could save much more water than
China is right now (Document C). My evidence proves the statement of showing
facts and data collected to show how much water is used by China s residents daily
and how it affects China s water scarcity crisis and explaining how much water is
used on a daily basis and how it s reality and not just a dramatic percentage of water

Those who showed high level need for power have a strong need to work in

McClelland Theory help me realize what truly inspired me was achievement. Ever
since I was young I always worked better alone because the only way I felt
comfortable failing was when it was fully on my own account. Entering high
school from grade 9 11 I was very focused and was a well rounded student. I did
extra curricula s and maintained a 3.45 grade point average and I always set a high
standard for myself. In Grade 12 I moved back to Canada I struggled I went
through depression because I wasn t achieving what I wanted to achieve. I was
down about myself and in addition to that I was adjusting to a completely new
school. At that time, I was taking high school courses in the sciences and I was
receiving very mediocre grades. Through trial and error, I realised that business was
an area that genuinely interested me. I had to look at achievements through a
different lens. Achievements can be smaller and less substantial for example, asking
myself if I am learning and If I am progressing. In addition
5. Compare And Contrast The American Colonies Vs The
British...
The American Colonies VS the British Parliament In the Seven Years War or the
French and Indian War, Britain took over the eastern part of what is now the
United States of America. The British forced out the French from many territories
in Canada and received Florida from Spain by giving the Spanish west of the
Mississippi River. With Britain s victory in the war, they had complete power of the
seas and now the American Colonies did not have to fret about attacks coming from
the French, Spanish, and the American Indian allies because the British were there to
protect them. Although the British feel that the colonials should feel the need to
thank the British for protecting them the colonials feel no need to do that. Instead,
the colonials do not want their freedom to be taken over by the British who are
across the sea from them. After the French and Indian War the British and colonials
start to have differences in their plans which starts the new laws from the British and
boycotts from the colonials. Although the colonists did not really fight in the French
and Indian War, they should still have the need to help pay for some of the debt
from the war because it was their territory that the British are protecting. However,
the British should not have imposed such strict laws on the colonials because they
were treating them like inferiors by starting to declare all the proclamations and acts.
The colonists should feel the need to pay Britain s debt from the French and Indian

7. Professional Athletes who Cheat in Sports Essay
Professional athletes are role models to the American children across the Nation.
Professional athletes must follow ethical standards to play fairly in their sport. This
means that players must compete without the assistance of performance enhancing
drugs such as steroids (Tynes, 2006). Yet, professional athletes choose to cheat by
taking illegal substances, which results in the death of some players and a wide
variety of health problems. The Federal Government realized that the use of
anabolic steroids is a form of cheating and defrauds the players and fans of real
competition. As a result, for the concern of the athletes health and concern for the
ethical standards of the game played, the Anabolic Steroid Act of 1990 (ASCA) was...

Victor Conte, founder of BALCO, was under investigation when athletes began

rumors of the athletes, the U.S Anti Doping agency began their operation during
the same year. In 2002, the Federal investigation of the BALCO Company began. A
narcotics task force received tips that professional baseball players were doping
and receiving undetected illegal performance enhancement supplements from
BALCO s founder, Victor Conte. Later in 2003, a disgruntled sprint coach, Trevor
Graham turned over a sample of the drug tetrahydrogestrinone (THG) nicknamed
The Clear to the World Anti Doping agency. The BALCO case begins to build. By
the Fall of 2003, federal agents raid BALCO offices where HGH (human growth

track and field athletes Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery testified before the

leadership role to a group of beat down patients at a mental institution knowing the
consequence would be death? Randle Patrick McMurphy does just that. McMurphy, a
con man who seeks institutionalization, becomes a role model for the inmates at a
hospital. These male patients are lifeless human beings who fear the institution and
its ruler, Big Nurse Ratched. Nurse Ratched runs the ward like an army prison camp
with harsh and motorized precision. Nurse Ratched controls the inmates in every way
possible, and they have no freedom. When McMurphy comes along, the inmates

He becomes a father like figure to the inmates, and the inmates begin to rely on
him for their needs. As McMurphy continues to defy Nurse Ratched and her rules
by creating a basketball team, gambling even more, and annoying Nurse Ratched,
the inmates begin to see his actions as divine. This proves he resembles Jesus
Christ. He brings goodness into the ward to confront the evil set by the hospital.
George Boyd describes McMurphy s purpose when he says, he brings the promise
of spiritual renewal to his disciples (126). McMurphy clearly shows this when he
repairs Chief Bromden and convinces him to speak again. The Chief stops talking
and acts deaf because he fears the society and its rules. McMurphy gives him a new
life and strength to overcome his fear and to challenge the rules of the ward and
Nurse Ratched. Another noteworthy example of spiritual renewal occurs when
McMurphy takes twelve inmates on a fishing trip. He creates a sense of freedom
and strength within the inmates by the trip. The resemblance to the twelve disciples
of Christ is no coincidence. Just as Christ, McMurphy gives his disciples a new life
to live and a bright outlook for the future. The inmates grow stronger and lose their
weaknesses they are still afraid to take the initiative and challenge Nurse Ratched
and look to McMurphy to solve their problems. The achievement of McMurphy s rise

9. Analysis Of The Poem Howl
Historic Analysis of Howl Howl was a poem written by Allen Ginsberg in 1956. For
us to understand the poem it is necessary for us to understand the history behind the
poem. Howl was published in 1956, right after the devastating World War II. After
WWII that s when the American dream was in full force throughout the whole world.
Many Immigrants were trying to migrate to the US at that time for a better living. At
the same time media was becoming big and powerful gaining trust from citizens
while television was on its peak being the most important part of the media growth as
it exported an immense number news to consumers. While Americans were busy with
the new experience of having, news transmitted to them on the comfort of their
houses, others worked hard to get a movement started, from the streets, to the bars at
night. A group of poets would gather together to express their arts of literature written
by them. Ginsberg s Howlwas Beat generations first heartbeat, as the poem was first
performed at Six Gallery in San Francisco in 1955 it was the moment when Beat
generation was built. As the poem was published in 1955 with the City Lights

11. The Concept of Green Building
The concept of green building builds upon the model of minimal disturbance to
landscapes and site condition, use of non toxic recycled and environmental friendly
building materials and renewable energy. In the US, green building accounts
approximately about 2% in 2005 of the new non residential building market, 12% in
2008; and is expected to grow to 28% 35% in 2010. The estimates for green
residential buildings are even lesser, at 0.3% of the market. But this trend is likely to
grow due to high consumer confidence and a growth in the number of green builders.
After the US, Australia and Canada, India has also emerged as the hottest destination
for green buildings. According to the Indian Green BuildingCouncil (IGBC), the
concept of green buiding is picking up the momentum in India and has grown at a
strong pace highlighted by the fact that in 2001 there was 1 green building with
20,000 sq. ft. and by 2013 this had grown to about 2,236 green buildings with 1.65
billion sq. ft. depicting strong growth. This kind of growth of green construction is
mostly observed in commercial, corporate (Special Economic Zones), and industrial
buildings both from the public and private sectors.
The benefits of green building can be divided into environmental benefits, economic
benefits and health and community benefits. The environmental benefits could
improve and protect ecosystems and biodiversity. Better design and building practices
can help in addressing environmental challenges such

14. The Skull Base
Discussion: Chordomas of the skull base represent significant challenges due to their
midline position and their ability to engulf critical neurovascular structures located
around them. In addition to these location issues, their biology represents significant
challenges, as notocordal rests located throughout the clivus, often remote from the
visible lesion, have the propensity to grow and recur. Both of these features are
critical for the skullbase surgeon, the former in determining the surgical approach and
trajectory and the latter in deciding on the surgical goals and intentions of treatment.
For more than a decade, lateral and paramedian approaches have been traditionally
the mainstay for surgical access and have provided valuable corridors. These have
included transbasal (12), trans septal trans sphenoidal (13), transmaxillary (14), facial
translocation, (15), transoral with or without mandible split (16), transcervical
transclival, and anterior cervical approaches. These anterior and lateral approaches
toward a centrally located chordomacarry the potential morbidity of manipulating
neurovascular structures in the way to lesion. The cited data report gross total
resection rates that vary widely, ranging from 44 to 83%. The corresponding
neurological morbidity rates are equally variable, ranging from 0 to 80%, and
vascular injuries are reported at 9 to 12%. CSF leak rates are reported to range from
8.3 to 30% (17 19). In an attempt to reduce these

Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison is a novel that uses speeches to show Ralph Ellison
s meaning of Invisibility. Ralph Ellison s meaning of invisibility is when you try
to be a person in the world, but people chose to ignore you because of you or just
because they think they are better than you. Ellison uses this as his main part of the
theme to show his point on how people put stereotypes of a race or religion and
rather than they are an individual person. Invisible Mangave two speeches about

`Dispossessed ! `Dispossessed, eighty seven years and dispossessed of what? They

This quote is from the invisible man s speech and what he is trying to say is that
they the old couple never had anything and never would in the society they leave
in, The reason this speech is an example of invisibility because it shows how
African Americans were never able to leave an equal life to a white person and
invisibility is part of it because African Americans leave in the shadows and they
get put down and ignored. The rhetorical value that Ellison is trying to show with
this poem is that invisibility has always been existed in African American lives
because they are thought as lower and so they are looked like they are invisible. To
describe how African Americans have been invisible too long and shouldn t be less
equal than anyone else and through his speech that things need to change among
society and not to make people invisible to you because they are the same as

The geography of Texas is hugely varied, from beaches to mountains. You can break
Texas down into four main regions, divided by rivers, escarpments and other natural

The Lone Star state is often divided into four regions: the Gulf Coastal Plains, the

Food
Purpose
The purpose of my proposal is to request authorization and funding for the purchase
of a new toaster for the restaurant of healthy food.
Summary
The need in purchasing a new toaster has become prominent due to the increased
demand of the clients in the qualitative and healthy food and a pressing need to
expand the menu and introduce new dishes and recipes. The purchase of a toaster can
strongly assist in meeting this requirement, since it offers a great variety of new
cooking solutions for the restaurant of the healthy food. Therefore, I am going to
suggest the purchase options of the toaster for the restaurant.
First, I am going to compare different models of the toasters, identify their properties
and specialties and contrast the prices. I am going to look at three different models to
choose the most optimal model for the restaurant. Then, I am going to establish the
criteria for assessing the toasters, in accordance with the restaurant s needs and
possibilities.
In case of approval of the proposal, I will make the necessary researches, evaluation
and purchase of the toaster within the budget of $349 (the price is based on the
investigations of the on line stores of the electric appliances). The restaurants should
provide costs for the purchase and be ready for the additional expenditures, connected
with the delivery and installation of the toaster at its place.
If approved, I will start the research and evaluation of the toaster models immediately

Equal Gender Representation in The Gaming Franchise This paper tries to express

resulted in a male dominated video gaming industry. Now, being that 49% of U.S.
households own a dedicated gaming console (E.S.A. 2012), it is imperative that we
address this issue. Gender disparity in the gaming business is exceedingly one sided.
Female employees constitute less than 10% of the gaming industry, and even though

realism because it shows that like the real world we don t know what is going to

The Unexpected Romanticism of Aylmer
Romantics see nature as utterly perfect, but, upon closer inspection, everything in the
world has some tiny flaw that makes the subject no less beautiful than if it were
without; true romantics accept these flaws and consider them perfection. There is no
such thing as the perfect specimen because of microscopic anomalies naked to the
human eye. In The Birthmark, a romantic short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the
main character, a scientist named Aylmer, marries the most beautiful woman the
world has to offer, but feels that her flaw makes her imperfect and ugly instead of
more beautiful. While his removal of the birthmark is an act of science that opposes
the views of romantics everywhere, his motives of doing such are truly romantic.
While these two opposing characteristics seem too contradictory to work in harmony,
Hawthorne manages to wrap them both up into one main character. Hawthorne s
romantic story features two main characters that oppose social norms: Aylmer the
scientist and his beautiful wife, Georgiana. Aylmer opposes the typical reactions to
the birthmark after he marries Georgiana. The typical reaction of masculine
observers, if the birthmark did not heighten their admiration, contented themselves
with wishing it away, while Aylmer is not satisfied with merely a wish, but is
confident that he could take action on the subject (Hawthorne 2). Surprisingly
enough, this equates a scientist to having romantic values,

The GatesburgGoGreen Initative is a great idea in my personal opion. Not only
will it save money, it will also save our planet that we are poluting. This is an idea
that people should deffinately take the time to stop and think about before they
just decide that it is a terrible idea, because there are alot of reasons that this
proposal will help all of us in the long run. For starts I believe that composting is a
great idea.Instead of raking and bagging up all you leaves and send them to a land
fill you can combine the leaves with coffee grounds, egg shells, and roting fruits and
vegitables to make a fertilizer that can be used for your garden. This saves plastic
bags, that are not bio deratable from being thrown into these land fills
25. H.B. Fuller Case Glue Sniffing Essay
H.B. Fuller s moral obligations in this case are to do everything they can to
prevent illegal distribution and use of their products. Being the leading
manufacturer of industrial glues worldwide, it is impossible for the company to get
rid of products that kids are misusing. Yes, the company can take steps to stop it,
which they are by not selling it to retailors and small business owners in Honduras
and Guatemala where the biggest abuse problem is. However, this company cannot
be morally responsible for every single person who chooses to use their product in
the wrong way. Like the mission statement says, they will conduct business
ethically...be a responsible corporate citizen. These are their moral obligations and
they are met by their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are various ideas, effects and consequences that are at stake in this situation.
If H.B. Fuller doesn t change the ingredient and stop selling their glue to Central
America, kids will still continue to get their hands on the products and
stockholders in and out of the company will continue to be unhappy with the
company. Another possible effect would be that H.B. Fuller could potentially lose
some of their customers; customers that believe that this glue is the main cause of
sniffing addictions. However, on the other hand, if H.B. Fuller does change their
glue and stop selling it in Central America, the glue may not work as well, and lead
to problems in not holding things together properly. It may also cost the company
a lot of money to try and experiment and find a good alternative. Another
consequence would be unhappy customers who like to buy the glue just the way it
is, because it works very well on their products that they need to build. If the
company gets rid of its 27% of sales by not selling to this area, they are also putting
the company at stake to post major losses and put the company at risk for layoffs
and in a bad financial position which would happen if a quarter of their sales is
totally gone. I personally think that H.B Fuller s moral rights have been violated in
this case. Moral rights protect the personality and reputation of the work s author.
For this case, H.B. Fuller has put years and years of work into making their glue
26. Women During The 21st Century
The 21st century can be fairly proclaimed the age of equality not only of race but
also of genders. Today, there are fewer occupations that remain solely masculine,
women are constantly conquering new positions and demonstrating they are also
capable of participating in physically challenging activities. Women are seen
stronger than ever. It is often said a girl can do anything a boy can. That sounds
great and empowering, but is that truly so? 50 years ago, the idea of a woman
serving in the army in full combatwould seem ridiculous, in present day it is a reality.
However, is such advancement reasonable? Many agree, that in certain military
occupations, women can function at the same level as men. The controversy about
having women fighting with men in wars is the fact that they have a different
physical structure, they deal with stress, deal with emotion differently and human
temptation is inevitable. Nature has made women physically weaker and less durable
than men. Normal physical exercises for men are often excruciating for women.
Constant physical loads can damage women s health; this especially refers to the
reproductive system. According to recent research from the Norwegian University of
Science and Technology, excessive exercise can seriously reduce a women s fertility.
In addition, it can result in problems with menstruation cycles, hormonal balance, and
other aspects of health. Compared to the perspective of becoming infertile and having
many specific health
27. Rhetorical Analysis Of Propaganda By Glenn Greenwald
Draft for Rhetorical Analysis Greenwald claims in his article that the United States
government is using cluster bombs on a regular basis, and is lying to the public
by denying the usage and supplying of cluster munition. Glenn Greenwald s online
publication NYT Claims U.S. Abides Cluster Bomb Ban, Exact Opposite Reality
was published on 09/03/2015 on the website The Intercept . The reader is left with
a sense of betrayal by the government and offended by it s blatant lies. An obvious
question is: if the government has been lying about cluster bombs and has been
getting away with it, what else are they lying about? Greenwald is known to be one
of the journalists who first published Edward Snowden s documents. Snowden is a
now famous whistle blower who supplied top secret NSA documents to several
journalists, one of them Glenn Greenwald. According to site, Glenn Greenwald is a

Most of Greenwald s writing seems to stem from his conviction that the U.S.
Government is not to be trusted and the public needs to be informed. Greenwald
makes the accusation that President Obama ordered a missile strike on Yemen in
2009, even had a journalist imprisoned for reporting the air strike, but fails to provide
authentic evidence. The first impression is that he does quote credible sources, like
Amnesty International, but after researching those sources they turn out to be blog
posts from people are barely connected to the actual organization. Greenwald forgoes
to mention that he is merely quoting an Amnesty International Staff Blog, where staff
members share their personal opinion. He also quotes Wikileaks, several little known
journalists, unknown activists and other sources of doubtful credibility. Evidence for
his claims is insufficient, his sources are

existence and, in many ways, sets the pattern for the genre, neatly fitting the
definition of a primary epic (that is, one that grows out of oral tradition).
In The Odyssey, Homer employs most of the literary and poetic devices associated
with epics: catalogs, digressions, long speeches, journeys or quests, various trials or
tests of the hero, similes, metaphors, and divine intervention.
Homer composed The Odyssey in a meter known as dactylic hexameter, which gives
the epic its elevated style. Each line has six metrical feet. The first five feet may be
made up of either dactyls and/or spondees. A dactyl is a metrical foot consisting of
a long sound followed by two short sounds (BEEEEAT beat beat). A spondee has
two long sounds (BEEEEAT BEEEEAT).

Ethical, Legal and Regulatory Analysis Intro It has become a growing epidemic for
company s to regulate their ethical and legal standings. From the employee s working
within the company, to those consumers taking in the products and services that the
company is shelling out, these specifics are things that just about everyone would
like to know. Within each company whether they conduct their business exclusively
online, if they are strictly brick and mortar, or even if they dabble a little bit into

regulated, of which the most talked about are the ethical and legal standings of a

30. What Is The Theme Of A Sorrowful Women By Gail Godwin
Gail Godwin s short story A sorrowful women obtains a lot of language and
imagination of fairy tales, which illustrate a picture of practically unachievable
family members in this case, a perfect husband, an ideal maid as well as an
excellent child. The wife s improbable statements resembling hate message and
some emotional blackmailing is seen earlier in the story. Ironically, her hate
towards everybody as well as her duty as a devoted mother and housewife become
a burden to her, however, tries different roles, but, finds none of them fulfill her
hole in the heart. She is acclimated to a particular part and has a hard time adapting
when a broader cluster of decisions are presented to her. The story is told as ironic
fantasy. It starts with the straightforward tall tale opening: Once upon a time there
was a wifeand mother one too many times. This opening presents both the tone and
the subject of the story. The fable like tone is kept up in the creator s laconic style.
The sentences are short and basic, and the general tone in a matter of certainty and
goal, adding to the incongruity of the circumstance. The anonymous characters go up
against all general or fable like quality, and the prompt time and region of the story
are undisclosed. The understanding and generous husbandsolid, responsive and
delicate, unable to redeem his wife. The kid is tender and golden three, practically

31. The Suicide Car And Truck Bombings
I chose the August 1998 simultaneous suicide car and truck bombings of the U.S.
embassies in Nairobi and Tanzania because I believe that not only were the attacks a
precursor of how future terrorist attacks were to be planned and executed, but it was
also the first successful terrorist strike by the al Qaedanetwork. The first bombing
occurred at the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya on August 7, 1998. The
attack killed 213, injuring thousands over 150 people blinded by flying glass.
Approximately nine minutes later, the American Embassy in Dar es Salaam,
Tanzania was also bombed, killing 11 and wounding 85 (Wright, 2006). Both
bombings were the result of planned attacks by al Qaeda and with the approval of
Osama Bin Laden.
On a personal level, I had only been with the FBI a little less than a year, and the
bombings were my first experience in an international terrorism matter. It was also
served as a harbinger of the new direction the FBI would be taking. One of by
squad mates, Bill, who was formerly a Marine Corp officer, had previously worked
at one of the embassies. He was immediately deployed to the region in a supporting
investigative role. The needs of the Bureau far outweighed his obligation to our drug
squad in Miami or the FBI Miami Division for that matter.
Why was it precursor of how future terrorist attacks would be planned and executed?
The prevailing maxim from decades past was the use of conventional weapons by
terrorist to make a political
32. Future Development of Telepathology
With telemedicine becoming so popular in the healthcare system, it is not
surprising that telepathology is also becoming more and more popular. Technology
has been, and continues, to improve on a regular basis. Telepathology is not a new
concept in the telemedicine arena. Even with the wide availability to doctors and
physicians, there has been a slow adoption of telepathology in everyday practice.
High operating and maintaining costs used to be the main reason physicians gave
for not accepting telepathology, but now most of the negative attitudes are
contributed to the lack of education and clear guidelines (Cross, 2002, p. 14) for
new incorporators of telepathology. There is no secret that the current system has
problems, including incompatibility within systems, and the expensive microscopes
that are dedicated to telepathology, but future developments are being researched
and produced to help offset the high costs. Low cost internet solutions,
videoconferencing, integrated digital pathology workstations, and virtual
microscopes are just a few of the developments in the works. Low Cost Internet
Solutions One of the most ideal situations for the future of telepathology would be
the creation of one universally compatible system that wouldn t require expensive
microscopes to be dedicated exclusively for the field of pathology (Cross, 2002).

SELLER S DISCLOSURES AND THE HOME INSPECTION
One of the more frustrating, but necessary elements of representing a seller or
buyer of a house is getting through a home inspection. In order to better deal with
this ordeal we must first look at why it is so important and then look at the best
way to educate the parties as to what to expect. In order to avoid any problems
during the process it is best for the parties to be forth right and make sure it is clear
to all the parties as to what their obligations are.
WHY IS THE INSPECTION SO IMPORTANT
New York is what is known in legal jargon as a Caveat Emptorstate which literally
means Let the buyer beware This has been handed down through old English
common law. The buyer in New York must insure that everything with the propertyis
satisfactory before they sign the contract and unless the contract sets forth
conditions which seller must correct the buyer is purchasing the property AS IS .
There are certain customary conditions which seller will insure, such as the
treatment of termites, and most contracts will provide that appliances, plumbing,
heating and electric systems will be in working order AT THE TIME OF
CLOSING. There are no guarantees or warranties provided. The electric system
may be working at the time of closing, but a buyer may discover after they move in
that the 60 amp service that was adequate for the 85 year old seller, who has owned
the house for 70 years, is not adequate to run an air conditioner and

The legalization of drugs is one of the most controversial and debated topics of the
21st century. There are both negative and positive reasons to legalize them as well as
negative and positive reasons to keep them prohibited.
According to LEAP, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, drug prohibition is the
true cause of much of the social and personal damage that has historically been
attributed to drug use. It is prohibition that makes these drugs so valuable while
giving criminals a monopoly over their supply ( Why Legalize Drugs? | LEAP

Antilegalization proponents also point out that drug dealers and hardcore addicts
would not suddenly become productive, law abiding members of society (Hartnett,
2005). The antilegalization point of view is that dealers will still be involved in crime
and violence and that users will still need to support themselves by engaging in
criminal activity (Hartnett, 2005)Also, opponents of legalization often cite statistics
that show that drug prevention initiatives, drug awareness curricula in schools, and
drug treatment programs are working (Hartnett, 2005). They point to the fact that
there are fewer addicts today than there were 20 years ago (Hartnett, 2005).
An article in the Wall Street Journal, titled Don t Legalize Drugs , discusses
additional reasons why drugs should not be legalized. Drug abuse alone cost an
estimated $55 billion in 1998 (excluding criminal justice costs), and deaths directly
related to drug use have more than doubled since 1980 (Walters, 2002).
Legalization, by removing penalties and reducing price, would increase drug
demand (Walters, 2002). Make something easier and cheaper to obtain, and you
increase the number of people who will try it (Walters, 2002). However that many
not always be the case. Alcohol is, in my opinion, a dangerous LEGAL drug that
causes thousands of deaths per year due to alcohol related accidents and mistakes
such as DUI s. Yet although alcohol is legal not everyone buys

1.We are often defined by both our good and bad behaviors. This being said, the
undesirable behaviors tend to leave a greater lasting impact than the desirable
behaviors do. For this reason, teachers need to place a special focus on teaching
students the appropriate behavioral skills whenever opportunities arise.
2.Behavior is teachable content, just like the other subjects in school. Because
behaviors are often learned, teachers need to make sure they are clearly explaining
the expectations and giving the appropriate support.
3.To establish successful positive behavior support plans within school systems, it is
important to concisely identify the set of behavior expectations, pinpoint and teach

Teachers are often expected to help investigate and document student behaviors.
Observations, interviews, and behavior rating scales are all ways in which direct
information can be obtained.
7.In order to accurately see and understand what is going on, it is always a good idea
to collect multiple sources of data across a variety of settings.
8.An anecdotal observation is an informal observation technique in which someone
collects information by simply observing what is going on and keeping a running
record of all of the events that occur in the classroom during a specific time period.
This technique definitely comes with limitations, but it is often a good starting point.
9.Discipline can get a little tricky, especially when considering students with
disabilities. If the problem behavior is connected to the student s disability, a BIP
should be created and implemented. If the problem behavior isn t associated with the
student s disability, the normal disciplinary measures (those in which students
without disabilities experience) must be taken.
10.When disciplinary removal (suspension, expulsion, etc.) is considered, students
with special needs are treated differently than their normal abled peers. Removal
would be a change in placement, and this goes against the guidelines of federal

Witchcraft and Female Sexuality The power of lust toward women has always been
a way to uplift a community while creating a threat to men. Women were thought of
as healers only to be persecuted for their natural maternal instinct. The ability to
both heal a body and an erection gave women in 1692, a horrible fate ending in
death or excommunication from their church. The way of women to have the
sensual touch and to fulfill the desires in the darkness of night led many to believe
women to hold a certain power over men. The warm mouth of the womb desired by
many a man could only divert the temptation and cause of the man or womanto sway

Karlsen tells of the Devil s seduction in Witches Historians, But the erotic power
witches were thought to wield over possessed females was only rarely explicit

The underlying factor of possession was known as the witches way of working
with the Devil to carry out the necessary diabolism. Possession is a way to recruit
younger girls to do the Devil s work. This can be seen in many cases of accusation
involved in the Salem Witch Trials. Older widowed women blamed for possessing
the adolescent girls of the village. Most witches were guilty of seduction only in the

38. Summary OfThe Pediatrician Retires By Sharon Olds
Before having children, adults are just adults. They only have to worry about taking
care of themselves. However, after having children, adults become parents. Unlike
other adults, parents have added responsibilities with caring for themselves and now
their children. Along with this comes endless worry for the children. In a parents case,
though, worrying is synonymous with loving, and as most parents know, it doesn t
waver. Throughout history, a parent s love has been captured in books like My Sister
s Keeper and in films like Everything, Everything. In The Pediatrician Retires by
Sharon Olds, repetition is utilized in coordination with kinesthetic imagery and
indirect characterization to illustrate the unending, yet rewarding life of parenting.
Throughout the poem, Olds includes repetition of This is statements to convey how
it can be exhausting to raise a child, but in the end, it is bittersweet to have watched
them grow. Looking back on the child s life, the speaker recollects the first trip to the
pediatrician s office: This is the archway (Olds 1). In combination with later
repetition, the line foresees the many appointments the child and motherwill attend.
Along with conveying the first appointment, the phrase also demonstrates a parent s
first time worries after having a child, where each sniffle or cough is serious. Upon
returning to the doctor s office, the mom comes to realize that taking care of a child
is constant work: This is the door / we came
39. Strawberry Spring By Stephen King Analysis
Killer s Perspective
A horror story should have some elements to grab the attention of audience such as
suspense and mystery. However, it is a challenge to achieve this goal especially in a
short story, but that did not seem to be an obstacle for Stephen King, who is famous
for writing horror fiction stories. Jeffrey W. Hunter, who is editor of Contemporary
Literacy Criticism, believes that Stephen King is a marketing phenomenon for the
large number of books he has sold. One of his first works was Strawberry Spring,
which was published along with other short stories in a book titled Night Shift in
1978. In the same manner as other Stephen King s writings, Strawberry Spring is a
story loaded of mystery where death is one of the main components. The story
begins with a narrator s memory about what happened eight years ago when he was
in college in 1968. The narrator remembers how a serial killer who was called
Springheel Jack came into action during strawberry spring which is a natural
phenomenon that only happens every eight years. Four young women were murdered
in that year. Despite the efforts and investigations of police, the murderer was never
caught. After eight years, the strawberry spring has come back and the killer, as well.
Without a doubt, first person narrative point of view, setting, and symbolism are
crucial elements that make Strawberry Spring a fascinating story.
To begin with, Strawberry spring is a story told in first person. The first person

According to information published by The Jewish People Policy Planning Institute,

natural for people to have sexual desires, however, the Centers for Disease

syphilis infections among homosexual men have seen such a massive increase that
the government report calls the gay syphilis statistics troubling. Also, the
government report admits that anyone can become infected with an STD, young
people and gay and bisexual men are at greatest risk. As the government states that
gay men are more likely to get STDs then could we also that they are more likely to

impairment and stroke and increases the chance of catching or transmitting HIV. If
homosexuals choose to be sexually active, then it makes sense why their Jewish

homosexuals are sexually active then their choices will lead them into harm s way.

When my wife and I moved our family from Seattle, Washington to Dallas, Texas
we used technology in multiple different ways to plan the move and interact with

happy to say that the move went very smoothly and I know that it would not have
been as easy for us had technology support services offered by the providers we used
not been as easy to use and readily available.
We moved into a rental home for our first two months in Texas before deciding to
buy a house of our own; and that is when the first problem occurred. We had set up
our Internet and cable services through Verizon FIOSwhich was the only cable
option we had if we didn t want to use a satellite dish. The original account setup and
activation was simple and painless. And because their service up to that point had
been acceptable that we decide to retain their services for the new home.
They advertised on their website that if a customer was moving within the Verizon
FIOS service area that they could take all hardware, account information, and price
with them to the new service location. This sounded simple enough so I logged in
to submit the address change, expecting what they advertised to be true. It was early
in the morning, I was tired, and had a full day of moving ahead of me so I breezed
through the change form and trusted that everything was good to go. It wasn t until

43. Human Science And Natural Science
Disagreement may aid the pursuit of knowledge in the natural and human sciences
because disagreement leads to new discoveries. Disagreement is about gathering
reliable knowledge as well as using this newfound knowledge, and occurs when a
group fails to reach a consensus over the logic of an argument. Knowledge is
composed of facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience
or education. Two areas of knowledge that are impacted by disagreement are human
scienceand natural science. Human science is the study of human behavior and how
humans gather information. Natural science is a branch of science that deals with
the physical world. In order for a disagreement to occur, one must be familiar with
the subject and have his or her own prediction that is different from the norm.
Therefore, to advance knowledge in the areas of human and natural science, people
must disagree. The roles of logic, reason, and emotion will be investigated to see
how they are used to help gain new knowledge in both human and natural science.
Many knowledge claims in human and natural science are based on theories. Jean
Lamarck proposed the theory of evolutionin 1801. The theory of evolution proposed
by Lamarck was based on the idea that organisms had to change their behavior to
survive. For instance, if a giraffe stretched it neck for a long period of time to reach
the leaves as the top of the tree, then a nervous fluid would flow in the neck and
make it longer. Thus, its

Teenagers
While I reiterate that I probably would have enjoyed this book as a teenager, and
while I am intrigued by the overall plot, I can say firmly that the parent in me would
be greatly disturbed by finding Kate Fox and the Three Kings on my teenager s
bookshelf. There is an overt sexual nature to the entire novel, and at times it s
downright mind boggling, especially considering that the book is marketed to
teens. After being held prisoner in a cult for years, the only thing that has really
stuck with Kate is that the upper portion of her womanly body is larger than
average. So much of the book is devoted to descriptions of her anatomy that if it
were erased, I am sure this novel would become a novella, if not a short story.
Furthermore, there

Every country differs in their preference of political system to govern their countries.
For democratic countries, two possible choices of governing are the presidential
system and the parliamentary system. Since both the presidential and the
parliamentary systems have their own strengths and weaknesses, many scholars have
examined these two forms of government, and debate on which political system is
more successful in governance. In this paper, I will first provide a detailed analysis
of both the parliamentary and the presidential system. I will also evaluate each system

Advocates of the parliamentary form of government suggested a few competitive
strengths of this system of government. Since it has gained a stable parliamentary
majority, the government is able to smoothly process its legislative project. In
addition, the government is adequately furnished that it could still choose to adopt
measures designed to support the national interests while many strong sectional
groups oppose such measures (Dyck, 2012). The prime minister is the leader of this
type of government, who is obliged to be responsive to all its people s demands.
Also, the people have the right to vote and replace the prime minister due to any
incompetency of governance that does not address and fulfill their desires. This is
known as the non confidence vote; the government may be removed when it has lost
confidence in the parliament, and cause the head of state to resign a new government
(Dyck, 2012). An example of such measure occurred in Britain on March 28th,
1979. When James Callaghan s labour government was defeated in the House of
Commons just by one vote, it was forced into an early election that was won by the
opposition leader Margaret Thatcher (Dyck, 2012). In this case, it can avoid or at
least reduce the period of legislative gridlock, because of its flexibility in elections
and the power is centered in the country s prime

48. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde disputes the role and conflicts between
Aestheticism and morality. He exposes his contradictions and inner struggles
throughout his three main characters: Lord Henry, a nobleman who criticizes the
moralism and hypocrisy of Victorian society and openly expresses his Aesthetic
thoughts, Dorian Gray, a handsome model influenced by Lord Henry s views on
beauty and morality, and Basil Hallward, an artist captivated by Dorian s beauty.
The novel mainly deals with the different views the three men have on art, beauty
and morality. The story is based on the degradation of Dorian s soul, which is
reflected in his portrait. As Dorian steps closer to immorality and corruption, the
portrait changes in appearance which eventually gives form to a hideous,
unrecognizable figure. The goal of this essay is to expose the constant correlation
between Dorian s Aesthetic beliefs and morality and how his new lifestyle leads him
to search for personal satisfaction regardless of the consequences.
Aestheticism originated in the Romantic period and the Pre Raphaelites and
expanded in Western Europe and America throughout the nineteenth century. Water
Pater was one of the most influential forces of Aestheticism in the nineteenth century
and greatly influenced a large number of philosophers. Aestheticism includes a certain
devotion to art and implies the significance of beauty compared to other principles
such as morality. Aestheticism separates art from
49. Integrated Model Of Managed Care
Managed care in simple can be defined as an organized approach to delivering
healthcare services in an efficient way to enrolled members by negotiation of prices
and payments with the providers. Managed care is one of the dominant influence that
as transformed the healthcare delivery system in the United States since the 1990s.
Managed carehas two different contexts to it.
1.It is an integrated model with an organizational setting involving financing,
insurance, delivery, and payments.
2.Controlling the utilization of these services. The presence of managed care
organizations in a health care market creates incentives that affect provider treatment
patterns for both managed care and non managed care patients. The mechanisms may

50. Examples Of Applying The Growth Mindset In Schoolwork
The fourth grade was a very traumatic year for me. My only sister went to middle
school, my mom who always was at home across the street from school got a job,
and I didn t know one person in my class. For the first time in my life I was on my
own and I was frightened even by the idea of it. During that year my grades
dropped and I wasn t social with my classmates. I started to fail in my favorite
class, math. The work became pointless to me and I started to neglect my work.
One day, after I failed another one of those math tests, my teacher asked to talk to
me after class. Due to the already annoying grade I had received, my teacher punished
me with a detention. Confusion and frustration flooded my body and I just wanted to
give up. But,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

my dad and said I don t want to play basketball anymore. Just like that I had given

Students who don t apply themselves to their school work won t be able to adapt to
school as it increasingly becomes more difficult. Throughout my life, I ve had both
fixed and growth mindset, but after reading Dweck s Mindset, I have learned about
how I can apply the growth mindset into my life and improve myself all around. My
mindset is all about how much I want to apply myself. If I put my all into everything,
I can do nothing but grow into an astonishing human being. Applying the growth
mindset into relationships by being more forbearing with people. Being open to
different business strategies and merging ideas together or to simply have faith in
yourself when things go wrong. Mindset is all about how much you want something
and if you put your all into something success will

Corporate Fraud
Introduction
Overview Corporate fraud has taken the world by storm for over the past decade.
The biggest fraud cases to ever occur happened in 2001 and 2002 and since then
fraud seems to be more and more common around the world. According to
Forbes.com (n.d) the biggest fraud cases to ever occur was Enron, Bernard Madoff,
Lehman Brothers, and Cendant, with Enron being the largest accounting scandal
to ever take place. Prior to Enron s fraud scandal coming to light in 2001, they
were the seventh largest company in the United States by revenue, this was the
same year Enron filed bankruptcy (da Silveira, 2013, p. 315). In addition to being
one of the largest companies, Enron received numerous awards for their positive
business role. Enron received the award for being the most innovative company
from Fortunes magazine, ranking Enron as one of the most admired companies.
Enron received this award six year in a row by the year 2000 (da Silveira, p. 316).
Furthermore, in 2001, Enron was noted on the United States list of being the
largest company of the top 50 fastest growing companies (da Silveira, p. 316). Not
only did Enron receive awards as a company, but their Chief Finance Officer (CFO),
Andrew Fastow also received the award as the most creative CFO from CFO

But as he has gotten older, he chooses to focus more on enjoying his retired life with
his children by staying at his youngest sons house. Most of the time he would spend
his time with his youngest sons family when they are at home, and if not, he would
go out and do some daily shopping. Even though he enjoys shopping, he feels like
he always makes the same error when buying the correct type of products. When he
was told by his family members to buy some products, he always fails to recall
them when he arrives at the supermarket and instead brings the wrong product
home. This is due to his age, his memory capability decreases, and he might have
been suffering from Dementia, according to his doctor. His family provided him
with a note that contains the list of things that he needs to buy in the supermarket,
but most of the time he always misplaced them, or could not understand the
handwriting of his family member. To prevent the obstacles, using the ITrolley
would be the best solution for him. This is because before he could do some
shopping at the supermarket, he could list the things that he needs to buy in the
shopping list section of the ITrolley app. When he arrives at the supermarket, he
could simply view the shopping list page from the homepage and there is a list of
the items. Also, while he is strolling around the supermarket, there will be a small

Silence
Gliding through the water, so gracefully. Happy as can be with no care in the
world. The water so calm and serene with all the different hues of blue, reflecting
the bright blue sky. Near the shore it was pale blue, nearly translucent, and as its
depth became eternal it changed from pale blue to a deep sapphire. The trees on the
far side of the lake were mirrored within, the leaves fraught with color; and as the
lake rippled, they seemed to dance with a passion all their own.
Until, a disturbance arose. The death of a beloved creature. Too abrupt. She was
young and beautiful. She was the embodiment of every ideal and every principle. She
was unusual.

The fact of trash being everywhere provides an endangerment for wildlife in urban
areas due to habitat destruction. The ruining on wildlife s habitat means that they
easily can get killed by some of the many dangerous items of litter that is pretty much
everywhere.
With that much amount of littering going to trash, you can literally understand how
much litter there really is, and how much dangerous items there honestly could be out
there to potentially harm animals.
With all that money to pick up billions of dollars worth of trash you can see how a
seemingly small problem like littering really is, and know how much of a massively
important problem that littering really is. The amount of resources it takes to fix this
problem is heartbreaking. That could be going to schools, reconstruction, the
economy, new technology, and the bettering of the community. That one or couple
pieces of trash that fall is all it takes for an innocent animal walking by to eat, or try
to put its head in and get killed in a matter of mere minutes. A glass bottle that falls
out will shatter and an animal walking by can eat glass and die a gruesome and
agitating death. A wrapper can easily be swallow whole by an animal only to be
stuck in its throat to slowly choke away, by a seemingly non¬dangerous item.
It is amazing how a small amount of litter and all the dangerous it can cause in an
environment. There are some many places it can come from too.

54. Victims Of The Revolutionary Era Essay
Victims of the Revolutionary Era Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been,
written by Joyce Carol Oates, portrays the fast cultural transition that heavily
impacted teenager s behavior in the 1960 s. The new style of music is an example
of how the rapidly cultural transition highly influenced adolescent s behavior from
that generation, initiating a revolutionary era. It was a time when culture was
rapidly changing. A sexual revolution was taking place, leading people, especially
teenagers, to question the traditional and religious beliefs of previous generations.
In addition, it was a phase which peace and love was emphasized by the ongoing
Vietnam war, driving people to promote peace and love amongst themselves for
the whole decade, especially through rock and roll music. Even as the peace and
love movement arose, a series of murders occurred in Tucson, AZ. Charles Howard
Schmid Jr., a 23 year old man, brutally murdered numerous girls and made national
headlines. A creepy predator was Oates s inspiration to create the unscrupulous
character: Arnold Friend. Oates creates the perfect picture of a 1960 s typical
teenager that gets caught in the middle of the revolutionary era; and eventually
becomes a victim of Arnold Friend. Connie is a 15 year old girl who lives an
ordinary life; confused about the girl she is, and the woman she is becoming. Being
a teenager is not an easy thing overall, for any girl, in any era. Furthermore, she lives
in a fast paced, transitional
55. The Importance Of The Bill Of Rights
James Madison wrote the 10 amendments, known as the Bill of Rights when
several states requested protection of their individual liberties(BILL OF RIGHTS
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (1791). The Federalists argued that the
Constitution didn t need the bill of rights because the people and states kept any
powers that was not given to the federal government. However, the Anti Federalists
felt the need to have the bill of rights for safeguarding individual liberty(BILL OF
RIGHTS OF THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA (1791). In 1789, when the
Congress proposed the first ten amendments for their first session, they received
three fourths by several States, so it became a part of the Constitution(1791: US Bill
of Rights (1st 10 Amendments) with commentary). The Federalists supported a stable
national government to preserve order, and 2/3 majority of the states must ratify for
the Bill of Rights to be a part of the Constitution(Bill of Rights 1791). It went through
several changes and The House approved 17 amendments, but the Senate only
approved 12. Therefore, they were sent to the states for approval in August of 1789,
and ten were quickly adopted (or, ratified). The Bill of Rights was officially passed on
December 15, 1791, when Virginia ratified the amendments(Bill of Rights 1791).
Although the Constitution doesn t really focus economic terms in details, it still
recognizes the right to own property and enter into contracts(The Constitution
economic rights and opportunities).
56. Discussion Board Of Oral Digestion
I chose the oral cavity to describe for this discussion board. The oral cavity ingests,
chews, and swallows the food so that it may enter our bodies. The oral cavity is the
place where digestion begins. Before it goes anywhere in the body it has to enter
our mouths first so that it may be mechanically broken down with the help of our
teeth and saliva. Saliva contains digestive enzymes that help break down the food
particles so that it s easier for us to swallow. Hanging at the back of the throat is the
uvula which is there to serve for more than one purpose. The first purpose being it
has a role in speech production, and the second one being the gag reflex. The reflex is
stimulated when food enters the throat without swallowing. This prevents
