websites in the world. For many users especially the fully wired net generation online social
networks are not only a way to keep in touch but a way of life. In addition to the socializing, it
can be used as tool for education, business, learning etc. Like every other form of technology, it
also has its own drawbacks. The drawbacks range from simple waste of time, negative effect on
children and teens to privacy theft, cyber stalking, hacking, misuse of database, identity theft,
illegal activities and some forms of terrorism as well. Presently there are over 300 networking
sites in existence. Thus, each competitor tries to be one up using latest technologies, attractive
features etc. Objective: The objective of this research paper is to compare the social networking
sites commonly used in India on various parameters like services, applications, demographics,
security etc. The paper also aims to understand the possible use of Social Networking sites as a
platform for information and knowledge sharing and to enlist its advantages and disadvantages.

The Kalam Cosmological Argument
God exists because we have people who exists, nature exists, the world exists. According to the
video on the Kalam Cosmological argument, People who don t believe God exists think that the
world and everything in it is just here and there is no cause and effect. If something exists than
there is a cause because the world doesn t just come out of nowhere. There must be a reason why
things are the way they are. People create things in the world like social artifacts or etc. Godcreated
people to make the world what it is based on new intentions or etc. In the Ontological argument it
states that If it is possible that God Exists, then it follows logically that God does exist . It means
that God exits because it s possible or more likely... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We will always live in a world where there is still problems and people are still trying to protest
about what s lacking in American society. Some people thing that American society has charge
like technology has change but, it hasn t. but it s their opinion and it s their lives that is
changing not all of society. We still have problems with people who thing that they can fix what
s going on in this society but, we can t unless we all come together but that want to happen
because people have different views about American society. The American society is divided
between Trump supporters and people who don t support Trump and it s divided for other
reasons as well. I think we always had that problem when American society is divide but when
Trump was selected to be President, the society being divide was more known and it made our
society feel like we are at war with each other. The American society has a set back because we
are in 2018 and we still have problems with people who have different culture, religions, race, or
etc. that are being discriminated. We still face conflicts about how a person should be and look
like. Some people are depression with how society is and how some people treat them. We still

Michael Jordan Essay
Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, and when he was still a
toddler, his parents moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Jordan played baseball, basketball,
and football as a child. He loved baseball, but his love for basketball started growing when his
older brother, Larry, kept beating him in one on one pick up games. Because of this, Jordan was
determined to become a better basketball player. Jordan played basketball for Laney High School
in Wilmington, North Carolina. Ironically, he was cut from the varsity team his sophmore year.
Instead of giving up after not making the team, Jordan used it to encourage himself to do better,
spending hours on the basketball court. He said that whenever he was working... Show more content

Following Jordan s third NBA championship, he had some troubles. Jordan s father pulled over
one night to take a nap on his way home and was murdered by armed robbers. The NBA also
began an investigation into allegations that Jordan had illegally bet on NBA games, but he was
eventually cleared. These events eventually caused Jordan to lose his motivation and the sense
of having to prove something as a basketball player, and he felt it was time to step away from the
court. Jordan sought a new challenge to play professional baseball. He signed a minor league
contract with the Chicago White Sox. He was assigned to the Birmingham Barons, and played
an outfielder position. His presence in the minors grew large numbers in attendance, but Jordan s
batting was uncharacteristic of his athletic skills. In his first summer with the Barons, he batted
.202 with 114 strikeouts in 127 games. On March 18, 1995, Jordan announced that he would be
playing basketball again. He ended his short baseball career and rejoined the Bulls near the end
of the 1994 1995 regular season, eventually losing to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference
Semifinals. Jordan once again had something to prove to the world, that he was still the greatest
basketball player to ever play the game, and that he would be even greater in the season to come.

The Environment Of Psychiatric Facilities, Regional West...
The environment that surrounds an individual is vital to their health and wellbeing. This is
specifically true when considering healing, especially in the hospital environment. A more
appropriate term for this is milieu therapy. Halter (2013) defined this as a psychiatric philosophy
that involves a secure environment (including people, setting, structure, and emotional climate) to
effect positive change (p. 677). This paper will discuss the environment of two psychiatric
facilities, Regional West and Behavioral Management, and their effects on patients mood,
behavior, and anxiety. Regional West is an inpatient facility that provides care to individuals 5
years old and up. The second floor of the facility is known as the step down unit.... Show more

The lighting was bright in the facility, with natural sunlight coming in through the windows.
Across from the nurses station there were patient lockers that consisted of items that the patients
were not able to keep in their room. The main area for the patients consisted of about two to
three tables with chairs, as well as, love seats and chairs for seating. Some tables had puzzles
laying for the patient s to do during an open time in their schedule. The noise level was moderate
to low for most of the time. At times the volume would increase due to the several different
disciplines of health care professionals collaborating together. The patients kept the noise volume
down while in the main seating area, although, at times the pediatric floor would get loud when
several patients were surrounded together. There was not a distinctive smell noted at the facility,
but it did not seem to smell like the hand alcohol as much as the main Rapid City Regional hospital.
There was also a fenced outdoor area that allowed the pediatric patients to spend time playing
volleyball and basketball. Staff consisted of two to three nurses, two techs on the pediatric floor,
and a couple more additional patient technicians on the adult third floor. Psychiatrists were also in
the area at times. There would be either two or three nursing students on each

Stephen Crane s The Open Boat Essay
Stephen Crane s The Open Boat
Humanity often tends to see itself as being somehow important in the grand scheme of the
Universe. We speak of fate as if we were put here for some reason, or purpose. We have our
religions, which often serve as an engine to drive our lives and as a means to give meaning to
them. But why do we think of ourselves in such a superior fashion? Do we really matter at all?
Would the Universe stop if we were suddenly taken away? In his short story, The Open Boat,
Stephen Crane shows us a Universe totally unconcerned with the affairs of humankind; it is an
indifferent Universe in which Man has to struggle to survive. The characters in the story come face
to face with this indifference and are nearly overcome ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The men, however, seem removed from the clockwork of their surroundings; seperate, but
somehow in the midst of everything happening around them. This indifference causes the men to
feel a certain isolation from nature. They even go as far as to think of the Universe as being
hostile: [The waves were] nervously anxious to do something effective in the way of swamping
boats. (1) This is, however, just normal activity of nature, not any act of agression against Man.
Although the men are pitted against an uncaring sea, they still at this point seem to think their
destinies are controlled by some outside force. Their collective thoughts are given: If I am
going to be drowned if I am going to be drowned if I am going to be drowned, why, in the name
of the seven mad gods who rule the sea, was I allowed to come thus far and contemplate sand and
trees?...If this old ninny woman, Fate, cannot do better than this, she should be deprived of the
management of men s fortunes. (6) It soon dawns on them, though, that there is no fate, no
purpose for their being where they are. It is the realization of this fact that brings the men to the
brink of despair: When it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important, he at first
wishes to throw bricks at the temple, and he hates deeply the fact that there are no bricks and no
temples. (6) It seems to them that their

Comparison Of The Matrix, Plato s The Republic
In the looking at of the framework the Matrix, Plato s The Republic (The Allegory of the Give

all demand reality in which they are living, and rather or not is it veritable or controlled by an
option that is other than what s normal. In every single one of these stories the all inclusive
community were suspicious of what reality truly is or isn t. They all in like way anticipated that
would leave what they saw as reality to watch what they recognized to be true blue reality. There
were also several complexities between them also. For instance, in The Matrixit was controlled by a

starts to see reality for what it is after a period of advance. He by then starts to consider the
importance of this reality and moves onto his own particular joy and feels disappointed about
the general population who are still in the give in. Then again, Neo the real character of The

many other things in themselves make her fascinating and intriguing as well.
Born on February 15 1820, Susan B. Anthony was brought up in a Quaker family with long activist

Bearing Arms at Nineteen Years Old Essay
The right to bear arms is embedded in our Nation s constitution as the second amendment of the
Bill of Rights. The amendment states, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of
a free state, the right of people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed (Bill of Rights).
Currently these laws should be extended to nineteen year olds because they are considered legal
adults and citizens. Although the United States no longer has local militias, the idea of keeping a
secure state still stands today. Since 1960, the general trend for crimein the United States is at a
gradual increase (Uniform Crime Reports). With the growing concern for the safety of the
community, young adults at the age of nineteen should be able to... Show more content on

That being said, this increased exposure to society leads to more exposure to threat. In 2009,
David Ward, president of the American Council on Education, stated perfectly The events of
September 11, 2001, certainly changed the way campuses, as well as the rest of the country, view
the issue of security. He goes on, the tragedy at Virginia Tech has put these issues at the forefront
of our Nation s consciousness (United States). Many other events that have happened in American
society raise awareness and concern towards societal terrorization also. In addition, in 2010, an
estimated 1,246,248 violent crimes occurred nationwide and thirty eight and a half percent of
these crimes were robbery, forced rape, and homicide (U.S. Department of Justice). Because
nineteen year olds are more exposed to danger in society, nineteen year olds should have a legal
right to conceal a handgun for protection of the individual carrier and the public as a whole. In
addition, giving a nineteen year old the ability to use handguns for recreational purposes enables
them to use what they learn, through the required courses they take, in a way that is not harmful to
the public. In fact, many universities have gun clubs that participate in competitions for college
students, many of whom are not twenty one. The participation of clubs allows for social
acceptance and better self esteem for gun owners, lessening the likelihood of ill use of handguns by
owners.

The National Banking Act Of 1863
BACKGROUND:
Banking in the United States is a better known as the declaration of the growth of capitalism and
free enterprise. Adam Smith, a well known economist, referred to capitalist banking as the invisible
hand guiding the path of allocation through goods and services throughout the economy.
Commercial and investment banking quickly became the leading hands in the economy, as
financial resources was a common scarcity in environments. Merchant banks that were privately
owned performed the capital distribution function. During the civil war, commercial banks were
state chartered financial institutions. Many banks were under capitalized, as they were under no

Commercial Banking:
As commercial banks first came about, they were presented as brick mortar, comprised with safe
deposit boxes, vaults, tellers and ATMs. Today, we live in a very fast paces world. Technological
advances have allowed global economies to bank online at personal and professional leisure. As
some commercial banks do not require a physical location, they save a lot of money in ancillary
charges, such as rent, utilities and property taxes. At times they may offer higher interest rates on
deposits, investments and charge lower fees as well.
Commercial banking provides consumers and potential customers with various financial services,
such as deposits and loans, in a means of ensuring social stability, economic stability, and
sustainable growth of the economy. Commercial banks offer a large range of investment products.
While these products are not only for the use of personal accounts, they are also put to great use
within organizations. Savings accounts, certificates of deposit, business loans, auto loans and
mortgages are all examples of products that are offered in commercial banking. Due to the fact that
certificates of deposit, saving and checking accounts are secured by the Federal Deposit Insurance

The Importance Of Birth Order And Its Effect On Leadership
Introduction
Some people have always assumed that the oldest child is a natural leader. In that same fashion,
some people feel the youngest child most often grows up a follower and remains a follower in
adulthood. There s some research to support these assumptions that birth order can determine how
one leads. This paper will examine the importance of birth order and its effect on leadership.
So, what is birth order? The term birth order refers to the rank of siblings by age. Birth order is
believed to have significant and lasting psychological effects on an individual. The effects of birth
order on the overall development of a person have continued to have an existence in both personal
and professional life. What is personality? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the second child, the parents tend to be less attentive thus leading the child be more of a
people pleaser and diplomatic (Connor, 2007) thus creating a follower style type. The last born
child is thought as rebellious and displays a spoiled attitude not typically a leadership trait. As the
family size increases, the parental resources are divided more sparsely among all children. Many
factors such as birth order, siblings, genes and circumstances all unquestionably play a greater role
in the development of a child s personality (Healey, 2007) thus impacting the type of leader
displayed.
According to Healey (2007), parents get excited about their first born child and tend to be
overprotective, pay more attention, investments and high expectations on the child. It is
understandable that parents may be able to expend more resources on the first born, especially in
smaller families if there is a gap between the other siblings. Gordman s research (2008) supports the
previously mentioned statements by showing the effect birth order has on educational attainment.
Gordman (2008) confirms Grinberg s (2015) statements regarding the possibility that more
resources are reserved for the first born. This research further proves that the first born has better
resources and informal support to help increase the chances of being successful. For this paper,

Creation of Ontology Model and XML/RDF file storage
Given the advantages of using RDF (Lassila and Swick, 1999), (Susmitha and Thammi Reddy,
2011). According to Zhou (Zhou et al., 2010), there are three kinds of RDF data storage formats,
one is XML / RDF file format, the second one is a special XML / RDF database and the third one is
a traditional relational database. If small amounts of data is considered then it is preferable to go
with XML/RDF file storage, But if large amounts of data are considered where scalability, data

Historic Value Of The Oregon Historical District
The Oregon Historical District is a twelve city block area in Dayton, Ohio that is registered with
the National Register of Historic Places. This reasonably small area has both commercial and
residential land uses. Though mixed use space, commercial and residential, is seen as a modern

This different architectural development could also be seen throughout the business district.
Intriguing ideas held within the historic value of the Oregon Historical District are the ideas of
preservation and protection. Instead of requiring its residents to rehabilitate the homes to original
status the requirements are that the home look authentic and have the appeal of authenticity. The
aesthetic nature of the homes should be less museum like and more home like with the intention of
preserving the architectural character of the past. In 1975, the Oregon Historical District ratified a
Constitution with the most recent amendment in 2014. This Constitution requires that residents
that live within the twelve block radius of the district be part of the Oregon District Historic
Society. These residents are known as members and pay a yearly membership fee. There is a board

The Contradictory Spectatorial Address Of Some Like It Hot
The Contradictory Spectatorial Address of Some Like It Hot
A film of the fifties, Some Like It Hot (Billy Wilder, USA, 1959) provides insight into the state of
the film industry, recently wracked by legislation and censorship, the implementation of pre existing
technology in part to combat the new limitations, the importance of the star system, and the two
sided response to the social norms, both contradicting and reinforcing the status quo. Billy Wilder
seemingly celebrates disregard for moral values of the time as a source of humor, referencing cross
dressing, sex, homosexuality, and lesbianism through leading men who execute cons without
suffering negative consequences; and expects his spectator to do the same. Overall, the film appears

In the period, the newly implemented technological elements and unique stylistic choices present
the context of moviegoing as [a] special event, which contributed to the cultivation of an aggressive
relationship with the spectator. Wilder also spectacularizes his film through its genre subversion
and bawdy humor. However, in his references to more serious themes, such as gender, he engages
the newly developing sophisticated spectator, capable of distinguishing and appreciating the
technological features of films, the issues tackled within narratives, and the implied breeches of the
Production Code, such as when Osgood pinche[s] Jerry/Daphne (Jack Lemmon) behind the closed
doors of an elevator.
The spectacularity of the star system in this period and particularly in Some Like It Hot directly
connect with its gender issues. Steven Cohen argues that the fifties star system presents actors
as both gender models and sexual objects, and Wilder s film reinforces his conclusions. Cohen goes
on to call Monroe the most spectacularized female star of the decade, a fact Wilder openly uses to
his advantage. In the character of Sugar Kane, Wilder includes extratextual references to two of
Monroe s popular roles, Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Howard Hawkes, USA, 1953)
and Pola Debevoise in How to Marry a Millionaire (Jean Negulesco, USA, 1953), both in search of
rich men, like Kane.

Peer Leadership In Remember The Titans
In April of 1971, the United States Supreme Court issued a decision that finished all state forced

Stereotypes In The Film Fortunate Son
Paramount Pictures released the fictional movie Forrest Gump on July 6, 1984 to major success.
Robert Zemeckis directs the film, which stars Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump. Raised by his single
mother, Forrest grows up in Greenbow, Alabama. Throughout the movie, Forrest becomes involved
in many of the major events that occur in the United States between the 1950 s and 1980 s. Some
of these events include becoming a college football star at the University of Alabama, serving in the
Vietnam War, reporting the Watergate Scandal, becoming a shrimp boat captain, founding Bubba
Gump s Shrimp Co., and running across the country. During Forrest s helicopter ride into Vietnam,
the song, Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revivalplays. This song not only sets the scene

conservatives. One of the effects of Robert Zemeckis choosing the song Fortunate Son is the

Think of this in general as X/Y. So, the money market formula is, in general, (X interest rate Y
interest rate) / (1. + Y interest rate) or, in shorthand, (X Y) /(1 + Y) So if you were using a yen
/dollar quote for the exchange rate, you would have yen rate minus dollar rate divided by one
plus dollar rate. Note that none of this really solves Dozier s problem; but there is a theory that
in well functioning markets, the results from the two formulas should be equal. In other words,
it shouldn t make a difference whether you hedge in the forward market or in the money market.
However this theory is based on comparing apples to apples. Here the apples are the financial
instruments whose interest rates we are comparing. Our interest rate calculation is based on the
cost of a UK bank loan to Dozier compared to rate on a bank CD. The theory works a bit better if
you use the Eurodollar rate and the Europound rate in Exhibit 4, but even these are not precisely
similar instruments. However, there is another use for the formulas. Banks use them in pricing
forward contracts! Suppose that we set the two formulas equal to each other and do some
rearrangements using my X/Y approach to stay general and to remind us what we are doing. We
can get the following result, solving for the forward rate: Forward rate = Spot rate x (1 + X interest
rate) / (1 + Y interest rate) Remember the rule is X over Y. When

Evolution of the DSM 5
It s no secret that psychology is an always evolving subject, with major research beginning in the
1800 s. Since then, categorization has been a priority in mental health. Overtime this type of
categorization became important to standardize, leading to the creation of the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM. The DSM continued to be updated,
publishing more current versions, even still today. Currently, there are five versions, but this won t
be the end of the manual. It has been made clear that changes will continue to meet the most current
research and standards in mental health.

These categorizations led to the
APA creating the first DSM, which focused on diagnostics for clinical use.
Ten years after the initial release of the DSM, a second edition was created, DSM II in
1968. The second edition was eventually replaced by the DSM III, which was the first manual to
look at several factors when diagnosing a patient. After the third, there were many more editions
to follow a revised manual, a fourth manual and a revised fourth manual. The DSM IV TR, or
revised fourth manual, was thought to have no substantial changes and seemed to cause
diagnosing a patient to be more difficult. The difficulty stemmed from the lack of information
regarding what normal and abnormal symptoms in a person was. This version also forced
clinicians to diagnose a person in several categories, making the ideal treatment harder to pinpoint.
Finally, in 2013, the DSM 5 was released after five long years of research and reclassification
occurred. Unlike the past version, the DSM 5 had many noticeable changes.

Tell your doctor before any injection if you:
Are allergic to eggs
Are allergic to latex
Have Guillain Barre syndrome
Have a fever
Have any illness or disease
Your doctor also needs to know if you ve had a severe reaction to a vaccinein the past.
Minor reactions to immunization are limited to:
Redness at the injection site
Slight pain at the injection site
Muscle aches
Low fever
Malaise
These are all temporary symptoms and pass within a day or two.
Your caregiver is trained to recognize serious reactions. He or she will consult with your doctor to
ensure that you obtain treatment if needed. Otherwise, your caregiver will strive to keep you
comfortable.
It s also important that you receive your immunizations at the right time. A home health care
specialist helps you keep a record of what you ve had and when. If needed, your caregiver will
schedule an appointment and transport you to the doctor s office.
Most physicians recommend the following vaccinations for seniors:
Influenza
Pneumonia
Shingles
Tdap
These are all intended to prevent infection.
Influenza
Influenza, or the flu, is very contagious. The older an individual is, the more serious it can be. It
can worsen any existing condition.
Complications of the flu can land you in a hospital. You may still get the flu if you re vaccinated,
but the infection will be much milder. Because the viruses that cause influenza constantly change,
you need a new flu shot each year.

The Rwandan Genocide And Ethnic Conflict
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
1.0Introduction
The Rwandan genocide has been a topic of discussion and study by many scholars, researchers and
humanitarian bodies seeking to find the root cause of its happening. Some found out that
deterioration in the political climate was the possible cause. Others argued that the Hutu elite were
only safeguarding their political power from the Tutsis who had, under the colonial rule, oppressed
the Hutus. The genocide was seen to be the best platform for settling scores between the two ethnic
groups.
The purpose of the study is to find out whether the Rwandan genocide was as a result of ethnic
hostilities or other underlying reasons while focusing on its impact on the country s economic,
social, cultural as well as political spheres. It will also seek to fill the gap of knowledge on what
could be done to reduce the occurrence of such conflicts.
The African governments play a critical role in ensuring that policies are put in place to promote
cohesion among the different ethnic groups that constitute the nation. The role might not have been
well played hence the occurrence of the Rwanda genocide which was a massive blow on the
African country. Ethnic difference might occur but how the leaders deal with them paves way for
either peace of conflict. Leaders are the starting point, form the remarks they make during political
rallies to their postings on social media.

Leo Frank Trial Essay
While Frank died maintaining his innocence, definitive proof of his innocence was never
uncovered. Frank underwent an unjust trial and ultimately lost his life due to the racial
prejudices and violence that enticed Atlanta during this time period. Atlanta felt threatened by
outsiders after the Civil War and this was apparent during Frank s trial. Despite the lack of
evidence against Frank, the people of Atlanta were quick to believe the guilt of a northern Jew.
Leo Frank s story was spread widely after his death. Movies, books, and articles about the Frank
case have caused the trial to gain further notoriety. The aftermath of Frank s case and ultimately
his untimely death, show how racial tensions and the facilitation of fear towards outsiders can
have detrimental consequences. People today can examine this case and see how race and
notion of outsiders still plays a role in our court system today. Additionally, the role the media
played in Frank s case sealed his fate to the masses after painting him as a deviant, and this
practice of speaking to ones character is still used by the media during cases and trials today.
Examining the effects the media plays on a case is an important practice that people living today
should engage in.
Sacco and Vanzettis trial also garnered national attention through newspaper articles. Six years
after their conviction, Sacco and Vanzetti gained international attention. Their defense lawyers also
argued that the men were only convicted due to their anarchist beliefs and went on to contact
Benito Mussolini who argued in defense of the men as well. Prejudice against anarchists was
present during the time of this trial had a great impact on the outcome of the case and left a lasting
impression of America. Another man ended up confessing to the murders, but Sacco and Vanzetti
were continually denied a new trial. Just as in Frank s trial, the defense for Sacco and Vanzetti
applied for clemency but did not receive it. Furthermore, a judge was able to deny their appeals and
eventually this rule was rewritten in Massachusetts so judges no longer have this power. The fear
of communism and prejudice against immigrants played a major role in this case and impacts

Gay Rights Australia

how as a nation, Australia has come so far since the 20th century in terms of gay rights, yet there is
still more work that needs to be done, to ensure all discrimination stops. Waters uses evidence
from 1972 to highlight how inhumanely gay people were treated, including being dismissed
from employment for being gay and that protestors against these practices were not looked upon
favourably . In 2018 however, a big win for gay rights was the legalisation of gay marriage in 2017.

Willett argues that the world view has changed, with the help of so many activists, bringing about
fundamental changes in society s attitudes. Willett talks about the changes made up until 1997,
however since then attitudes and legislation relating to homosexual people has become even more
understanding and tolerant. In the early 20th century, gay and lesbian people were marginalised to
the point of invisibility and demonization . He argues that before 1975, homosexual laws were
some of the harshest laws that the government introduced. This was because there was a general
sense of homophobia after the 1960 s, calling homosexual behaviour, sexual depravity. He cites
Barry York demanding conjugal rights for prisoners to prevent prisons from being breeding grounds
for homosexuality . He also draws on the homosexual attitudes in the paper, such as the Tribune in
1973 which states how John Sendy wanted the government to oppose gay liberation . However,
Willett also uses evidence of people trying to change this law and fight for gay rights, such as
Whitlam in 1970, who expressed support for decriminalisation of homosexual acts, and how in
1972, Lex Watson set out law reform abolishing all laws regarding discrimination against gay
couples and sexual orientation, race and marriage status. He demanded public education campaign
in schools to eradicate anti gay attitudes. Willett suggests these actions helped to reshape Australian
society creating more understanding. By 1997 there was wider public acceptance and tolerance of
homosexual people, with Mardi Gras parade being popularised, the decriminalisation of male
homosexual behaviour, acceptance of lesbians and the recognition of gay custody rights in families
and much stronger anti discrimination laws, all creating a powerful sense

The Qin Shi Huangdi Qin Essay
Qin Shi Huangdi, the first Qin emperor, was a proactive and ambitious emperor who implemented a
central bureaucratic system that oversaw the evolution and unification of China at the cost of
public sentiment. The Qin Dynasty is considered among the most influential dynasties as it laid the
foundation for the massive cultural and economic development of Chinathat took place during the
Han Dynasty, but it also failed to achieve many of its pro commoner ideological goals. In fact,
socioeconomic disparity was not alleviated and despite the notion of enriching the lives of the
common people, it was under Qin rule in which public resentment of the authoritarian government
peaked as there were countless peasant revolts against the iron handed bureaucratic rule of China.
Because a paranoid emperor alone wielded political clout and influence, the tumultuous few years
of Qin reign was rife with paranoia and suspicion among the masses. Although the Qin Dynasty is
seldom thought as possessing the same glaring discrepancy between ideology and state that the
Communist regime in post World War II China had despite the similarities, the failure of the
flawless egalitarian state models in socioeconomic and political aspects during the Qin Dynasty
mirrored the developments in early Communist China. Among the key aspects of the Qin
unification was the act of completely clearing all local aristocracies and uniting the peasant class

The Importance Of Natural Disasters In The Film Industry
Natural disasters are something that will likely plague the earth for years to come, even with the
advancements seen in technology by 2030. Until forecasting and prediction technology is
perfected, one can only hope to be adequately prepared when disaster strikes their location. Aside
from technology, the rapidly increasing global population also does not help with mitigation efforts
in terms of mitigating natural disaster casualties and destruction. Compared to a twenty year stretch
ranging from 1993 2013, the annual natural disaster death toll has doubled from 68,000 deaths, to
150,000 deaths per year (1).
Advancements in technology over the years have not been solely limited to natural disaster
mitigation. For example, the film industry currently offers Environfilms, a genre in which
realistic temperatures, smells, and motions are simulated throughout a disaster movie in
correspondence to the events on screen. In response to this increasingly realistic cinema
opportunities, the Science and Entertainment Exchange (SEE) has worked with filmmakers and
scientists over the years in an effort to create a new rating system. Unlike the Motion Picture
Association of America s film rating system which sets an age limit for movies, SEE s rating
system wishes to provide a guideline for scientific accuracy in disaster films. In doing so, SEE
wishes to help audiences comprehend fiction from reality, and observe an actor or actress
actions on screen as a potential guideline for rescue and survival situations during a natural
disaster. Movies will be rated by two scientists and two film industry professionals on a scale
ranging from one to five. Any film receiving an average above a four will receive the SEE seal of
approval. Any film under four will be forced to have a disclaimer, and issue an online explanation
on the limited scientific accuracy of the said film.
As a judge reviewing the aforementioned SEE proposal, I would motion to vote in favor of
applying the guidelines to disaster movies. In terms of civilian and consumer interests, I believe
the SEE ratings will only help the populations approval of the film industry, and faith in it.

Arrow Of God And Smoke Signals
Arrow of God and Smoke Signals have similar patterns of fiction, archetypes and philosophies. If
you notice Campells typical hero sequence of actions can be detected in both Arrow of God and

from all over the world from many periods of history. Essentially, it might even be said there is but
one archetypal mythic herowhose life has been replicated in many lands by many people.
(Archetypes pg 6) This sequence is made apparent in Arrow of God. The birth of Ezeulu is unusual
because he is born into priesthood. This priesthood later requires him to travel to Okperi. While in
Okperi, Ezeulu confronts his ego simultaneously while conflicting with the imposing British

Campells typical hero sequence holds truth in Smoke Signals as well. Victor s unusual birth in
Smoke Signals is symbolic; he is saved from a tragic house fire as a young baby. This house fire is
the same event that drives his father away from the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation. Inevitably
this later requires Victor to leave home and confront his ego while retrieving his father s remains.
In both Arrow of God and Smoke Signals the events after the heroes birth are considerably unusual.

Luke told them, Since I know you guys and i want you to have a great trip I will give you a
discount, but you have to tell me all about your trip. Chad and his friends were very thankful and
took the offer. After a day in California exploring the city they decided that it was time to head
off to their next destination. After a long and gruesome 8 hour drive Chad and his friends finally
arrived in Las Vegas Nevada. They were planning on having a lot of fun exploring this city. After
resting and then spending a whole day exploring and having fun at all the different casinos, they
went to a restaurant called The Lotus. When they went inside Chad said, This place is kind of
strange. Chad was getting a weird feeling from this restaurant and as he looked around he saw

Descriptive Essay On Suburban Life
I don t know if the American Dream in its current form is dead, with the large homes fenced off
with white picket fences, a lush green yard in the front, an expansive yard in the back, and the
entire family together in that home that they own. I m honestly not sure if people still want that
specific idealized image of a house in the suburbs as their actual permanent home. As a young
person who is sometimes considered a Millennial depending on who you ask, I can only speak
of my own experiences as well as of those around me. As a city kid, growing up in a small walkup
in the middle of Queens, I was kind of in between the suburb/urban lifestyle where I was only a
few minutes from the city life and on a very quiet Sunday afternoon, lived the suburban life. It
sucked. I was in a neighborhood where the rents were constantly rising but the actual condition of
the area was getting worse. There was constant construction, grifters, rats, bad neighbors, car
accidents, and decaying infrastructure. Trees were cut down near my house and the roots were left
to rot. Yet, everywhere I went, houses were being bought, renovated, and rented out. And people
were moving in. I couldn t understand why. And then I went to college where dorming was an
option. And my sister wanted to move out and was apartment hunting. We both so desperately
wanted that chance of being independent from our parents, living it out in Manhattan. But we
couldn t. It was too expensive to move out. Coming from a upper

Ronald Reagan, The Great Communicator Of The United States...
Ronald Wilson Reagan, the great communicator of the United States of America began his legacy
of embodying the conservative movement during one of the most famous speeches in American
history. Before Ronald Reagan became the fortieth president of the United States, he began his
switch from acting and movies to government and politics. Early in Reagan s career he saw
himself as a democrat, with Theodore Roosevelt as his hero. This would change thru his acting and
professional career as Ronald Reaganannounced that he would choose a different path. Ronald
began his turn from Hollywood to Washington D.C. when he began to see his liberal/democratic
views start to hurt the country in which he thought his views were being represented. In 1962, in a
rally for Barry Goldwaterthe Republican Nominee for the 1964 election; Ronald Reagan gave
one of the most prolific and famous speeches of all time A Time for Choosing. In this speech
Ronald Reagan showed the people of America a new side of himself where he believed small
government, lower taxes, and the American spirit would allow for a new era of prosperity that the
left wing had been holding back. Since the beginning of American government there have always
been two distinct parties in which the people listen and side with the values that they believe in.
For the last hundred years the two main parties have been Republicans and Democrats. Republicans
having conservative values believe in a hands off government, lower taxes,

Foreign Exchange Rates And Hedging Options
Foreign Exchange Rates and Hedging Options
There are three hedging options that are commonly used. Hedge is to reduce losses due to volatility
of foreign exchange rates. Hedging instruments use options and futures which are derivative
instruments.
One type of hedging is using a forward contract. This method is to lock in a FX position that would
provide stability and not succumb to the fluctuations of FX rates. By locking in an FX rate, it gives
the company the right to the currency exchange rate specified for a future time. This means that if
FX is to adverse or benefit of FX will be minimized for the future.
Another technique to minimize FX risk is to purchase options. The purchaser of an option sets an
exchange rate at a future date that the purchaser may exchange at. If the FX is beneficial, the
purchaser may execute reaping the gains, however if the FX is unfavorable, the purchaser will not
exercise.
A third instrument is to hedge using currency exchange traded fund (ETF). Purchasing currency
ETFs on the stock market allows the purchaser to either buy or short sell the stock to mitigate FX
risk. As the ETF is correlated to the fluctuations of FX, if rates are favorable the stock price will
appreciate, whereas rates are unfavorable the stock price will depreciate.
To improve internal controls in reconciliation, GWL should provide proper foreign exchange
training to existing staff. This will ensure the accounting staff team understands where to book, and

California s St. Francis Dam Collapse
Mr. Mulholland is an intelligent, sharp, and observant builder. he didn t seem to study much about
dams because the dam that he built was built on schist which water slides under. This man was
known throughout History for his confidence of how to build the dam. He seemed pretty gruff and
impatient, He seemed like he wanted to just get done with his work. Mulholland wanted to get it
done because it was a very long task, There are some answers to why Mulholland built the dam
badly. One reason is that it was probably too much on the dam. As the head of the department of
power, Mr. Mulholland faced a huge challenge which was to provide water for a rapidly grwoing
city. People really need water for getting clean. Mullholland thought he could help the people to
get get water by building a dam. He was mostly doing it for money. More water is always best
for LA County because all California has is sum most of the time, especially Southern
California. Mr. Mulholland conceived a daring plan to build the largest Dam in the world located
in San Francisquito Canyon. As the designer of the St. Francis Dam, Mr. Mulholland had to find
a well structured place to build the Dam. He needed to be very wise on where he built the dam.
Mr. Mulholland also needed to be intelligent to build the Dam. The Dam needed to be secure to
prevent the heavy water to spill out. According to Mr. Mulholland, the dam was built in San
Francisquito Canyon off of San Francisquito Rd. The Dam

Potatoes At Room Temperature
Introduction (background information, purpose and hypothesis)
We know that enzymes are protein that helps to breakdown different molecules. But what if
enzymes can be breakdown? Most enzymes need homeostasis environment to survive. Well we all
know that as the amount of temperature increases the less the enzymes .Enzymes can be denatured
using temperature, PH and salt concentration. As we know that protein structure are determined by
DNA coding. We used temperature to see if increasing or decreasing temperature affected the
amount of enzyme produced. So when the temperature is increased there will be more amount of
enzymes denature due to high temperature and it would be opposite of temperature was dropped.
And a denatured protein is biologically inactive hence it needs a homeostasis environment.
Hydrogen peroxide is used for metabolic processes. The main purpose of this lab was to see that if
increase in temperature resulted in denaturing of enzymes and comparing the time for h2o2 to
bubble when using apples, onions and potatoes at room temperature. So the main questions for this
lab were how does temperature affect the amount of enzyme present in potatoes? Will there be any
change in amount of bubbles produced if apples and onions were used with potatoes at room
temperature?
Material required ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We also used refrigerator and heat bath to decrease and increase the temperature of potatoes. A
knife was used to cut slices of potatoes, scale was used to measure the weight of potatoes so it
does not affect the results, refrigerator and heat bath were used to change the temperature of
potatoes ,hydrogen peroxide to show bubbling , stopwatch to measure the time. We had controls
that were sliced potatoes at room temperature to minimize the effect of variables and to compare the
control to the other variables used. Variables used were slice/smashing the potatoes and hot/cold

Research Paper RD
Topic: Space Debris
As Earth becomes more technologically innovated and crowded, space has become the answer of
many of our problems. Over the past couple of decades, we have launched numerous contraptions
into space such as satellites in which many currently orbit the Earth. These contraptions can be
used for reconnaissance, communications, weather, search and rescue, navigation, exploration,
television, and much more. Not a day passes by where we do not make use of these contraptions
in our lives. However, as we progress towards the future, more and more of these satellites will be
launched into orbit and as the fate of technology, they are bound to fail at some point and often get
abandoned. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the rapidly increasing amount of space junk, planning of the clean up of this junk is
underway.
Every year, the amount of debris orbiting the Earth grows, creating an increasingly hazardous
zone for satellites and even astronauts. Although some objects or shrapnel look small, their
destructive force is greatly magnified by the hostile conditions of space. According to NASA,
pieces as small as softballs can be traveling at an astonishing 17,500 miles per hour. Due to these
enormous orbital speeds, any of these objects have the potential to damage or destroy the satellites
that we depend on. In fact, even a tiny paint fleck has caused enough damage to the windshields of
spacecraft that the windows had to be replaced (Space Debris and Human Spacecraft). In addition
to damaged windows, images show that even objects less than half an inch in diameter can
puncture through the structure of the space shuttle Endeavour (Trouble in orbit: the growing
problem of space junk). The fact that such puny pieces of junk can cause such severe damage
upon space shuttles suggests that spacecraft are mere inflated balloons to space due to the high
velocities objects are travelling. This only makes situations worse for humans as there is no really

In that same fashion, some people feel the youngest child most often grows up a follower and remains a follower in adulthood. There s some research to support these assumptions that birth order can determine how one leads. This paper will examine the importance of birth order and its effect on leadership. So, what is birth order? The term birth order refers to the rank of siblings by age. Birth order is believed to have significant and lasting psychological effects on an individual. With the second child, the parents tend to be less attentive thus leading the child be more of a people pleaser and diplomatic (Connor, 2007) thus creating a follower style type. The last born child is thought as rebellious and displays a spoiled attitude not typically a leadership trait. As the family size increases, the parental resources are divided more sparsely among all children. Many factors such as birth order, siblings, genes and circumstances all unquestionably play a greater role in the development of a child s personality (Healey, 2007) thus impacting the type of leader displayed. According to Healey (2007), parents get excited about their first born child and tend to be overprotective, pay more attention, investments and high expectations on the child. It is understandable that parents may be able to expend more resources on the first born, especially in smaller families if there is a gap between the other siblings. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Think of this in general as X/Y. So, the money market formula is, in general, (X interest rate Y interest rate) / (1. + Y interest rate) or, in shorthand, (X Y) /(1 + Y) So if you were using a yen /dollar quote for the exchange rate, you would have yen rate minus dollar rate divided by one plus dollar rate. Note that none of this really solves Dozier s problem; but there is a theory that in well functioning markets, the results from the two formulas should be equal. In other words, it shouldn t make a difference whether you hedge in the forward market or in the money market. However this theory is based on comparing apples to apples. Here the apples are the financial instruments whose interest rates we are comparing. Our interest rate calculation is based on the cost of a UK bank loan to Dozier compared to rate on a bank CD. The theory works a bit better if you use the Eurodollar rate and the Europound rate in Exhibit 4, but even these are not precisely similar instruments. However, there is another use for the formulas. Banks use them in pricing forward contracts! Suppose that we set the two formulas equal to each other and do some rearrangements using my X/Y approach to stay general and to remind us what we are doing. After the third, there were many more editions to follow a revised manual, a fourth manual and a revised fourth manual. The DSM IV TR, or revised fourth manual, was thought to have no substantial changes and seemed to cause diagnosing a patient to be more difficult. The difficulty stemmed from the lack of information regarding what normal and abnormal symptoms in a person was. This version also forced clinicians to diagnose a person in several categories, making the ideal treatment harder to pinpoint. Finally, in 2013, the DSM 5 was released after five long years of research and reclassification occurred. Unlike the past version, the DSM 5 had many noticeable changes. ... • 31. The Rwandan Genocide And Ethnic Conflict INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND 1.0Introduction The Rwandan genocide has been a topic of discussion and study by many scholars, researchers and humanitarian bodies seeking to find the root cause of its happening. Some found out that deterioration in the political climate was the possible cause. Others argued that the Hutu elite were only safeguarding their political power from the Tutsis who had, under the colonial rule, oppressed the Hutus. The genocide was seen to be the best platform for settling scores between the two ethnic groups. The purpose of the study is to find out whether the Rwandan genocide was as a result of ethnic hostilities or other underlying reasons while focusing on its impact on the country s economic, social, cultural as well as political spheres. It will also seek to fill the gap of knowledge on what could be done to reduce the occurrence of such conflicts. The African governments play a critical role in ensuring that policies are put in place to promote cohesion among the different ethnic groups that constitute the nation. Frank underwent an unjust trial and ultimately lost his life due to the racial prejudices and violence that enticed Atlanta during this time period. Atlanta felt threatened by outsiders after the Civil War and this was apparent during Frank s trial. Despite the lack of evidence against Frank, the people of Atlanta were quick to believe the guilt of a northern Jew. Leo Frank s story was spread widely after his death. Movies, books, and articles about the Frank case have caused the trial to gain further notoriety. The aftermath of Frank s case and ultimately his untimely death, show how racial tensions and the facilitation of fear towards outsiders can have detrimental consequences. People today can examine this case and see how race and notion of outsiders still plays a role in our court system today. Additionally, the role the media played in Frank s case sealed his fate to the masses after painting him as a deviant, and this practice of speaking to ones character is still used by the media during cases and trials today. Examining the effects the media plays on a case is an important practice that people living today should engage in. Sacco and Vanzettis trial also garnered national attention through newspaper articles. Six years after their conviction, Sacco and Vanzetti gained international attention. Their defense lawyers also argued that the men were only convicted due to their anarchist beliefs and went on to contact Benito Mussolini who argued in defense of the men as well. Prejudice against anarchists was present during the time of this trial had a great impact on the outcome of the case and left a lasting impression of America. Another man ended up confessing to the murders, but Sacco and Vanzetti were continually denied a new trial. Waters uses evidence from 1972 to highlight how inhumanely gay people were treated, including being dismissed from employment for being gay and that protestors against these practices were not looked upon favourably . Willett argues that the world view has changed, with the help of so many activists, bringing about fundamental changes in society s attitudes. Willett talks about the changes made up until 1997, however since then attitudes and legislation relating to homosexual people has become even more understanding and tolerant. In the early 20th century, gay and lesbian people were marginalised to the point of invisibility and demonization . He argues that before 1975, homosexual laws were some of the harshest laws that the government introduced. This was because there was a general sense of homophobia after the 1960 s, calling homosexual behaviour, sexual depravity. He cites Barry York demanding conjugal rights for prisoners to prevent prisons from being breeding grounds for homosexuality . He also draws on the homosexual attitudes in the paper, such as the Tribune in 1973 which states how John Sendy wanted the government to oppose gay liberation . However, Willett also uses evidence of people trying to change this law and fight for gay rights, such as Whitlam in 1970, who expressed support for decriminalisation of homosexual acts, and how in 1972, Lex Watson set out law reform abolishing all laws regarding discrimination against gay couples and sexual orientation, race and marriage status. He demanded public education campaign in schools to eradicate anti gay attitudes. Willett suggests these actions helped to reshape Australian society creating more understanding. By 1997 there was wider public acceptance and tolerance of homosexual people, with Mardi Gras parade being popularised, the decriminalisation of male homosexual behaviour, acceptance of lesbians and the recognition of gay custody rights in families and much stronger anti discrimination laws, all creating a powerful sense ... In fact, socioeconomic disparity was not alleviated and despite the notion of enriching the lives of the common people, it was under Qin rule in which public resentment of the authoritarian government peaked as there were countless peasant revolts against the iron handed bureaucratic rule of China. Because a paranoid emperor alone wielded political clout and influence, the tumultuous few years of Qin reign was rife with paranoia and suspicion among the masses. Although the Qin Dynasty is seldom thought as possessing the same glaring discrepancy between ideology and state that the Communist regime in post World War II China had despite the similarities, the failure of the flawless egalitarian state models in socioeconomic and political aspects during the Qin Dynasty mirrored the developments in early Communist China. The Importance Of Natural Disasters In The Film Industry Natural disasters are something that will likely plague the earth for years to come, even with the advancements seen in technology by 2030. Until forecasting and prediction technology is perfected, one can only hope to be adequately prepared when disaster strikes their location. Aside from technology, the rapidly increasing global population also does not help with mitigation efforts in terms of mitigating natural disaster casualties and destruction. Compared to a twenty year stretch ranging from 1993 2013, the annual natural disaster death toll has doubled from 68,000 deaths, to 150,000 deaths per year (1). Advancements in technology over the years have not been solely limited to natural disaster mitigation. For example, the film industry currently offers Environfilms, a genre in which realistic temperatures, smells, and motions are simulated throughout a disaster movie in correspondence to the events on screen. In response to this increasingly realistic cinema opportunities, the Science and Entertainment Exchange (SEE) has worked with filmmakers and scientists over the years in an effort to create a new rating system. Unlike the Motion Picture Association of America s film rating system which sets an age limit for movies, SEE s rating system wishes to provide a guideline for scientific accuracy in disaster films. In doing so, SEE wishes to help audiences comprehend fiction from reality, and observe an actor or actress actions on screen as a potential guideline for rescue and survival situations during a natural disaster. Movies will be rated by two scientists and two film industry professionals on a scale ranging from one to five. Any film receiving an average above a four will receive the SEE seal of approval. Any film under four will be forced to have a disclaimer, and issue an online explanation on the limited scientific accuracy of the said film. As a judge reviewing the aforementioned SEE proposal, I would motion to vote in favor of applying the guidelines to disaster movies. • 41. Foreign Exchange Rates And Hedging Options Foreign Exchange Rates and Hedging Options There are three hedging options that are commonly used. Hedge is to reduce losses due to volatility of foreign exchange rates. Hedging instruments use options and futures which are derivative instruments. One type of hedging is using a forward contract. This method is to lock in a FX position that would provide stability and not succumb to the fluctuations of FX rates. By locking in an FX rate, it gives the company the right to the currency exchange rate specified for a future time. This means that if FX is to adverse or benefit of FX will be minimized for the future. Another technique to minimize FX risk is to purchase options. The purchaser of an option sets an exchange rate at a future date that the purchaser may exchange at. If the FX is beneficial, the purchaser may execute reaping the gains, however if the FX is unfavorable, the purchaser will not exercise. A third instrument is to hedge using currency exchange traded fund (ETF). Purchasing currency ETFs on the stock market allows the purchaser to either buy or short sell the stock to mitigate FX risk. As the ETF is correlated to the fluctuations of FX, if rates are favorable the stock price will appreciate, whereas rates are unfavorable the stock price will depreciate. California s St. Francis Dam Collapse Mr. Mulholland is an intelligent, sharp, and observant builder. he didn t seem to study much about dams because the dam that he built was built on schist which water slides under. This man was known throughout History for his confidence of how to build the dam. He seemed pretty gruff and impatient, He seemed like he wanted to just get done with his work. Mulholland wanted to get it done because it was a very long task, There are some answers to why Mulholland built the dam badly. One reason is that it was probably too much on the dam. As the head of the department of power, Mr. Mulholland faced a huge challenge which was to provide water for a rapidly grwoing city. People really need water for getting clean. Mullholland thought he could help the people to get get water by building a dam. He was mostly doing it for money. More water is always best for LA County because all California has is sum most of the time, especially Southern California. Mr. Mulholland conceived a daring plan to build the largest Dam in the world located in San Francisquito Canyon. As the designer of the St. Francis Dam, Mr. Mulholland had to find a well structured place to build the Dam. He needed to be very wise on where he built the dam. Mr. Mulholland also needed to be intelligent to build the Dam. The Dam needed to be secure to prevent the heavy water to spill out. According to Mr. Mulholland, the dam was built in San Francisquito Canyon off of San Francisquito Rd. The Dam ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Potatoes At Room Temperature Introduction (background information, purpose and hypothesis) We know that enzymes are protein that helps to breakdown different molecules. But what if enzymes can be breakdown? Most enzymes need homeostasis environment to survive. Well we all know that as the amount of temperature increases the less the enzymes .Enzymes can be denatured using temperature, PH and salt concentration. As we know that protein structure are determined by DNA coding. We used temperature to see if increasing or decreasing temperature affected the amount of enzyme produced. So when the temperature is increased there will be more amount of enzymes denature due to high temperature and it would be opposite of temperature was dropped. And a denatured protein is biologically inactive hence it needs a homeostasis environment. Hydrogen peroxide is used for metabolic processes. The main purpose of this lab was to see that if increase in temperature resulted in denaturing of enzymes and comparing the time for h2o2 to bubble when using apples, onions and potatoes at room temperature. So the main questions for this lab were how does temperature affect the amount of enzyme present in potatoes? Will there be any change in amount of bubbles produced if apples and onions were used with potatoes at room temperature? Material required ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We also used refrigerator and heat bath to decrease and increase the temperature of potatoes. A knife was used to cut slices of potatoes, scale was used to measure the weight of potatoes so it does not affect the results, refrigerator and heat bath were used to change the temperature of potatoes ,hydrogen peroxide to show bubbling , stopwatch to measure the time. We had controls that were sliced potatoes at room temperature to minimize the effect of variables and to compare the control to the other variables used. Variables used were slice/smashing the potatoes and hot/cold ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Space Debris Richard Xu ESS102 AD 4/13/17 Research Paper RD Topic: Space Debris As Earth becomes more technologically innovated and crowded, space has become the answer of many of our problems. Over the past couple of decades, we have launched numerous contraptions into space such as satellites in which many currently orbit the Earth. These contraptions can be used for reconnaissance, communications, weather, search and rescue, navigation, exploration, television, and much more. Not a day passes by where we do not make use of these contraptions in our lives. However, as we progress towards the future, more and more of these satellites will be launched into orbit and as the fate of technology, they are bound to fail at some point and often get abandoned. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the rapidly increasing amount of space junk, planning of the clean up of this junk is underway. Every year, the amount of debris orbiting the Earth grows, creating an increasingly hazardous zone for satellites and even astronauts. Although some objects or shrapnel look small, their destructive force is greatly magnified by the hostile conditions of space. According to NASA, pieces as small as softballs can be traveling at an astonishing 17,500 miles per hour. Due to these enormous orbital speeds, any of these objects have the potential to damage or destroy the satellites that we depend on. In fact, even a tiny paint fleck has caused enough damage to the windshields of spacecraft that the windows had to be replaced (Space Debris and Human Spacecraft). In addition to damaged windows, images show that even objects less than half an inch in diameter can puncture through the structure of the space shuttle Endeavour (Trouble in orbit: the growing problem of space junk). The fact that such puny pieces of junk can cause such severe damage upon space shuttles suggests that spacecraft are mere inflated balloons to space due to the high velocities objects are travelling. This only makes situations worse for humans as there is no really protected inside or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
