Reflection Number Three Over the past few units, I have greatly expanded my knowledge about
several different psychological topics. Though many of the topics that were discussed sparked my
interest, there were two types of disorders that furthered my knowledge, but also eliminated some
stereotypes that I had about them. The two main areas that I learned more about regarding these
disorders were characteristics of the disorders and different methods of treatment. A common theme
that has been discussed in multiple different units is that several psychological disorders can have
similar symptoms and characteristics. It is crucial to understand what makes one psychological
disorder different than another one. Determining what type of disorders an individual might have
can lead to better and more accurate treatment options; treatments methods are important because
they help individuals manage their disorders. The two disorders that I found to be the most
important and most interesting are borderline personality disorderand schizophrenia. Borderline
personality disorder is associated with a variety of different components and symptoms. The two
main areas that borderline personality disorder is related to are moods and relationships; both of
these areas tend to be quite unstable. The element about borderline personality disorder that I was
not aware of was the increased risk that they have of injury or even death by their own hands. It is a

My family and I go there every year! It is similar to ACL in Austin, except fancier with more

Most people have heard of Susan B Anthony as her face is on some of our dollar coins. But some
may not know the reasons behind her being on that coin, and the way that she got there. This and
many other things in themselves make her fascinating and intriguing as well.
Born on February 15 1820, Susan B. Anthony was brought up in a Quaker family with long activist
traditions. After teaching for fifteen years, she became active in temperance. Because she was a

How Did Leif Erickson Influence The American Revolution
America was first discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus, while he was searching for a new
trade route to India. Leif Erickson was the first European to visit the new world before Christopher
Columbus was born, however he wasn t recognized as the discoverer of the new world. John Cabot
reached the coast of America in 1497 and he thought that North America was China, like Columbus,
so he claimed the land for England. The American Revolutionwas a political disruption that took
place between 1765 and 1783 which colonists in the thirteen American colonies rejected the British
monarchy and defeated Great Britain and created the United Statesof America. The declaration of

discovered that this weak form of state government could not survive and so the constitution was

to declare a war on Spain because he feared that the public opinion would turn against him. John

Most of the students were from good background, there was no one from deprived background. So,
the research was made taking that into mind. As family matters make marks into mind at this age

The United States is a country built upon freedom but the density of people shaped the country.
The immigrants inspired by the tales of the American Experience soon found those tales were
falsely perceived. People of color battled against discrimination and the lack of equality upon

, and the Mujeras

Ritual, he intends to compare the similarities between black and white by combining pictures that
relates to humans. The Murjeras Muralistas consists of Graciela Carillo, Consuelo Mendez, Irene
Perez, and Patricia Rodriguez, who painted the mural Latinoamerica to convey the message of who
they were and where they came from. The three works of art represents the three different cultures

community suffers from embarrassment, fear, and angry due to their experiences in the World War
II internment camps. World War II is a time of great repression for the Japanese American families,

Throughout the time of the Great depression many people were homeless and unemployed. It was
caused by enormous growth of goods and prices of shares in the United States during 1920s.
Companies were producing more products than they could sell, while most Americans could not
afford it because they were too poor. Also investors borrowed money from banks to buy shares
so they could sell them for quick profits when prices rose. In 1920s this caused share prices
reached unrealistic amounts and when investors lost confidence they rushed to sell shares,
prices collapsed. Results in this huge fall meant demands for goods vanished and people were

To keep the blood moving around the body supplying vital nutrients to cells and removing waste,
a cycle of contractions (systole) and relaxations (diastole) take place, this cycle is known as the
cardiac cycle. There are three stages to the cardiac cycle, all stages happen during one heartbeat

The U.S. Special Operations Teams are some of the toughest men in the entire world and are
trained to endure the most extreme conditions in order to be properly prepared to serve and
defend our country, The United States of America. There are three different branches of
protection in The United States: the Navy, the Army, and the Air Force. Accordingly, each of
these has its own tribute to the Special Operations Forces. The Navy contributes the Navy
SEALs, the Air Force provides Air Force SOCOM, and the Army provides the Green Berets,

Is it possible that some of today s most popular yet most violent role playing games might have a
severe negative impact on today s world? In today s world, many teens are involved in a variety
of games with simulated violence included in them. Although they are popular, these games
have received a lot of controversy over the years. Twenty year old Adam Lanza was obsessed
with the violent lifelike video battle games that he played at the large suburban home where he
lived alone with his mother, a teacher who became the first victim of his horrific shooting spree

Women versus Men: The Art of Miscommunication There is often miscommunication between the
sexes, whether it is spouses, friends, siblings, or parents. The miscommunication between the sexes
is not intentional; it is simply because of the differences in the way men and women think and
interact. In Deborah Tannen s essay, But What Do You Mean?, Tannen identifies the seven
primary differences in which men and women interact. Of the seven differences between women
and men interactions than Tannen points out, the most notable ones that I have seen to be true
are apologies, jokes, and criticism. Apologizing is, from what I have seen growing up, probably
the most misunderstood. Tannen points out in her essay that women use the term I m sorry as a
way for both parties in a conversation to take part of the blame, and show equal footing or to
show that it is okay. I have seen plenty of examples of this, especially with my grandma and my
aunt. When my grandma would forget something, she would apologize, then my aunt would say
that it s okay, and then she would apologize to my grandma. Growing up, I did not understand why
my aunt would apologize, as it was not her fault, but reading Tannen explain it in her essay, I
understand that she was just saying it to tell my grandma that it is okay and not to worry about it.
