Analyzing Interspecific Relations Between Species Found On...
When visiting Te Raekaihou Point on the New Zealand Rocky Shore, our intent was to analyse
interspecific relations between species found on the Rocky Shore and to investigate a pattern in the
ecological community. Samples were taken using transect lines and quadrats, and observations
were made both in terms of a site profile, as well as making measurements such as Salinity, pH of
the Water, Air Temperature, Water Temperature and Light Intensity. The two species I have chosen
to investigate the relationship between were the Ornate Limpet (Cellana Ornata) and the Black
Nerite (Nerita Melanotragus). he main abiotic factors were Tidal Movement and the Substrate on
the shore.
The community pattern analysed was Zonation. This is shown in the Kite Diagram created from
the class set of data, where there are distinct bands of species along the intertidal zone. The Rocky
Shore Habitat is tidal, being on the coast of New Zealand, at Te Raekaihou Point, there were
several rock pools, as well as a large amount of bare rock. The intertidal zone and exposure to air in
this zone were important as several species living in this zone rely on the water to avoid
desiccation, this is why crevices and rock pools were a key factor in the zonation and distribution
of species on the Rocky Shore.
Ornate Limpet (Cellana Ornata)
The Ornate Limpet is a grazing shellfish, and can generally be found from the mid to high tide
region, as is seen on the Kite Diagram (Appendix A), there were larger numbers

Competency Vs. Nursing Degree
Competency comparing nursing degrees Bhumika Chaudhari October 2015 Nebraska Wesleyan
University Abstract Nurses who graduates from Associate degree of nursing (ADN) or nurses
who graduates from Bachelors degree of nursing (BSN) are require to take same exam of
National council licensure examination (NCLEX) in order to become licensed registered nurse
(RN). Both of these degrees prepare nurses to care for patient in same level regardless of nursing
degree. Research done by Spetz and Bates in 2013, conveys that there is no difference in entry
level pay with having new ADN nurse or BSN graduate nurse and they both are expected to care
for same patient care areas. The institute of medicine (IOM) future of nursing reports requiring
80 percent of all Register nurses to have their BSN by 2020 (IOM, 2011). This evidence based
practice inquiry will compare the difference between two nursing degrees and their competency
level. Keyword: IOM, comparing nursing degrees, new graduate nurses, associate nursing

having different educational paths to achieve that degree. In many states nursing degree can be
acquired by completing Bachelor s of science in nursing (BSN), an Associate degree in nursing

three programs has to pass National council licensure examination for registered nurses

Why Should Lance Armstrong Be Banned
Everyone has heard of Lance Armstrong, famous cyclist who won Tour de France 7 consecutive
time in a row. Impressive, right? It would be if hadn t won those competitions with the help of
blood doping and drug use. Lance Armstrong was stripped of his title and bronze Olympic medal
for the illegal athletic gain and his reputation went to absolute shambles. Steroid use in
professional sports is not allowed and results in consequences, varying by sport; but in the
Olympics, as The Baltimore Sun states, it takes two positive drug tests to be banned for life from
anymore olympic competing. For as long as we can remember, there has been a talk of steroid use
in high stake sports. Whether it be accusations, and pointing fingers, or that the insanely... Show

And why wouldn t they do this? I m tired of so called moralists acting outraged that players
could do such a thing. Are you telling me that you wouldn t consider taking some substance if it
potentially made you better? Especially if you were in a profession where 2.5 million dollars a
year is the average salary. In his blog he describes how he does not blame all of the athletes for
risking everything they have earned to try and make it to the leaderboard in what they do. This
supports that everyone should be allowed to use steroids while in competition because when the
stakes are so high, everyone will always look for any opportunity to be better than rest, regardless
of rules. So in that case, we should take away all the rules and let everyone do the drugs at their
own risk. In relation to put at their own risk, steroids are surprisingly less dangerous than alcohol.
This was seen by Lincoln Allison, In general, the risk to health from performance enhancing drugs
is considerably less than that from tobacco or alcohol. In his document he mentioned how even
though steroids are allegedly extremely harmful, they are banded unlike more harmful things like

Kobe vs Lebron
When it comes to basketball, many people off the top of the head say Michael Jordan, Magic
Johnson. Many people think that Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest or they say LeBron James.
Which LeBron is just not there in the way Kobe is there now. Kobe Bryant came in the game as
a young one he came straight out of high school, just like LeBron James, Kobe was drafted to the
charlotte hornets but was traded to the L.A Lakers. Within his first year he was known around the
league as a high flyer, also winning the slam dunk contest. Just by this alone Kobe is way ahead of
LeBron, but there is more to this story that just meets the eye. Kobe Bryant has set more records

LeBron won t be able to do he will be old and retired before you know it and then he will be in the

he does. Now that LeBron has a good team that he plays with now he still is not having the best
outcome. Kobe has to battle all of these teams with all these super star teams and he is over
coming all of these obstacles. People will always argue about these two till the day that lebron
proves that he has the right mind set to win a championship and grow up on the court. With the
team he has now he should be set to win back to back championships but until he get pasted his

Cold Blood is a riveting narrative that documents a historical American crime. Written seven years
following the murder of the Clutter Family, Capote was able to produce such a unique novel that
reflects the countless hours that he had spent obtaining information. The extensive amount of
interviews and reports add a great amount of depth to the storytelling. The abundance of vivid
perspectives captivates the audience and leads them to delve into the inner workings of the

The brutal diction and sadistic atmosphere that picturize Perry s childhood leads the audience to
revisit their initial impression of him. With a further glimpse into the man s background,
Capote can continue his focus on providing a larger picture. In order to expand on Perry, Capote
builds off of his physical trauma and discusses the emotional trauma that he had to face
concerning his parents and siblings. His parents were separated and his mom became drunk who
did not care for him and eventually he had a falling out with his father and with the multiple
deaths of his siblings, Perry Smith revisited these memories many times. His sister, Fern Joy was
a drunk who fell from the window of a hotel room. Falling she struck a theater marquee, bounced
off it, and rolled under the wheels of a taxi (116), his brother Jimmy who had one day driven his
wife to suicide and killed himself the next (69), and his mother, an alcoholic, had strangled to death
on her own vomit (69). According to Capote, such drastic changes had lead Perry to some serious
changes in which human life is not something important and is simply expendable. As the writer, he
does not believe that Perry s involvement in the Clutter murder is forgivable but rather, compassion
and sympathy should be shown toward him due to his unfortunate circumstances. Additionally,
Capote believes that there should be an acknowledgement of

My Name In My Family
Often names are chosen for a variety of different reasons; maybe the parents just liked it, it might
be a name that s in the family for generations, or maybe it s chosen to pay homage to someone
that was lost. The story of how my name, Jessica Lorraine , came to about began many years
before my birth. There are countless reasons my parents chose my first and middle name, but the
biggest decision they had to make was choosing my first name. Through the years before my birth a
tragedy struck my family, and it brought great heartache to many. Although this tragedy brought
great sorrow to the members of my family, my parents were able to take this pain and form it into
a base for the name of their next child. A few years before my birth, in 1998, the death of my uncle
Jason Crowe struck my mothers side of the family. His unexpected death affected the whole
family; he had a large influence on everyone he met and had close relationships with all four of
his siblings, including my mother Lorraine. Since this greatly affected my mother, she wanted to
remember him in a special way. What other way to honor someone s life than naming one of your
children after them. I wanted to have my second child s name start with a J, just like Jason s. My
mother thought and then told her idea to the rest of her family and my father, Andy.
To begin the search, my parents rummaged through different baby books trying to find the perfect
name for their next child. They went through a variety of

Prescription Drugs Vs. Medicine
Statement of the problem It has been found through different resources that prescription drugs or
medicine prices are the highest in United States. As compared to other countries such as those that
are in the phase of development, also agree that the prescription drugs or medicine costs are highest
in America than any other part of the world. Along with this, there has been a huge debate on the
topic or issue of prescription drugs as that will reform the health care systems. Also, upon
comparison with the wealthy nations of the world such as Germany, Canada, and Japan, United
States has the unfortunate honor of paying the highest rates or costs for medicines. Moreover,
evaluation of the same situation lead to a conclusion that there are... Show more content on

Being a member of pharmaceutical industry, it is important to know that what primary factors
are there that have raised the costs of prescription drugs and medicines. Medicines are the
primary treatment options for every doctor and prior to any operation or any major surgery,
medication is prescribed in most of the cases, where appropriate, in order to avoid the
complications of surgeries and operations. Also, while considering the economic outlook of
people, it can be said that people are not that much well off or maximum number of the economy
is not rich enough that they can spend a huge amount of money in there treatment through
medicines. Maximum position of the different classes of a society is held by the middle class
people that do not have enough money to fulfill their needs so how are they going to make up or
pay for the high rates of prescriptions drugs and medicines. A huge amount of money when paid in
treatments, leave the people with less amount of money to fulfill their basic needs. Therefore, it is
perceived that with the help of this study, it can be evaluated that whether or not there can be any
kind of changes to protect the rights of patients who seek health care services in order to feel better
rather than over burdened with prescription drugs or medicinal costs. Also, as mentioned while

What Is The Theme Of The Ruins Of A Great House
Ruins of a Great House is a symbolic poem written by Derek Walcott that tries to explain the
British Imperialism system by referring an abandoned house as a colony under the British Empire.
He describes the poor condition of an abandoned house, it s surroundings and tries to visualize the
effect of British imperialismin the then society. Walcott talks about the effect of British Imperialism
to establish colonial slavery, the awful treatment of slaves, and the gradual destruction of the
imperialism system. At the very outset of the poem he says, though our longest sun sets at right
declensions and makes but winter arches, it cannot be long before we lie down in darkness, and
have our light in ashes... Browne, Urn Burial. This suggests that... Show more content on

Farewell, green fields, Farewell, ye happy groves! The background of this quote taken from
William Blake s Night is opposition of British monarchy. And thereby Walcott means that with the
beginning of British imperialism the green fields lost their life. It s like the British Empire sucked
all the life of common people and made the society sick like a leprosy patient. It s like the green
fields are affected with leprosy. The poet is angry for such heinous attitude of the British
towards the slaves of the seventeenth century. And he bids farewell to the good old days with
the introduction of the British Imperialism. But this system didn t last long when the poet
mentions, Deciduous beauty prospered and is gone, But where the lawn breaks in a rash of
trees. As British Empire got involved in immoral colonial slavery, the system lacked proper
authority to ensure effective administration which resulted in its decay and loss. The lime trees
and an wagon wheel under manure describes the use of slaves led by British silt. Walcott uses
imagery to make the readers perceive how the society felt like from his perspective. He says, The
world s green age then was a rotting lime which potentially refers how the imperialism system
paralyzed the peaceful society and brings its death and

Siddhartha and Govinda Essay
Siddhartha and Govinda Siddhartha, written by Herman Heese, is a book about a man s journey to
find his inner self beginning when he is young and ending when he is of old age. Siddhartha, while
on this quest, searched for different mentors to teach him what they know, hoping to find truth and
balance in and of the universe. At the end of the novel, Siddhartha reaches the enlightenment
through many teachings.
Govinda, Siddhartha dearest friend and confident, is often viewed as his Siddhartha s follower, or
as his shadow. In the beginning, Siddhartha goes with Gotama to hear the teachings of the Buddha,
and Govinda remains with Buddha to become his disciple. Siddhartha believes that each person
must find his or her own way to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being asked how he was able to reach enlightenment, Siddhartha draws the distinction
between knowledge and wisdom. He says, No, I am telling you what I discovered. Knowledge can
be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, be forfeited by it, do wonders through it,
but one cannot communicate and teach it. (115).
Siddhartha shares many teachings he has learned with Govinda. Siddhartha holds up a stone in
example, showing that one thing is enfolded in the past, present, and future. He also stated that
language is only a device, and that wisdom is not communicable. This means that, through
experience, wisdom is attainable, but if you trying to teach enlightenment, the meaning will not be
fully appreciated to whom it is taught.
We also learn that not only Samana has left its mark on Siddhartha, but that also his brief contact
with Buddha left its mark also. The Buddhist doctrine shows two opposites are Samsara and
Nirvana. All truth has these two opposites, the truth side and the illusion side.
When Gotama admits he has still not found peace, he suddenly has an inexpressible experience
much like Siddhartha had when he met Vasudeva years before. Siddhartha then summons Govinda
to kiss him on the forehead. Govinda feels as if he is touching perfection, the illustrious one,
eternity, and gets a mystical transference from Siddhartha.

Gout is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis, resulting from the deposition of
monosodium urate crystals in and around the joints as a results of chronic hyperuricemia. In the
United States 3.9% of adults (8.3 million Individuals) suffer from gout. The gout flare up is a self

This chronic inflammatory disorder is also associated with health comorbidities such as obesity,

Allopurinol inhibits xanthine oxidase, the enzyme the causes the conversion of hypoxanthine to
xanthine, and the conversion of xanthine to uric acid. Consequently, by blocking this enzyme,
allopurinol and oxypurinol, its metabolite prevent the conversion of oxypurines to uric acid;
therefore reducing serum and urine levels of uric acid.
This drug after oral administration is well absorbed (80% 90%), and distributed widely throughout
the body, except the brain. Furthermore, is metabolized in the liver to oxypurinol and excreted
unchanged in the urine after approximately 6 hours after ingestion, with a half life of 2 3 hours.
During administration of allopurinol, caution should be used with renal impairment patients and
renal function test should be performed to determine the appropriate dosage. Hepatotoxicity is also

Cultural Bound Syndromes ( Cbs )
The subject of cultural bound syndromes (CBS) is one of the most interesting of the study of
medical anthropology and psychology. The term is used to refer to particular conditions or
symptom complexes, cognitive, behavioral or affective, which are apparently unique to specific
cultures (Balhara, 2011). These culturerelated specific conditions may occur due to a particular set
of environmental conditions combined with distinctive cultural practices within the limited area of
occurrence, for that reason being exotic and somewhat rare. The way they are experienced is
heavily influenced by their culture. They range in deadliness from causing comparatively
insignificant and perhaps harmless medical complications to grave ones and sometimes... Show

Several of these disorders have however been contested by modern medicine as being fallacious in
their label as culture bound while others have held their ground as fact.
Examples of these cultural conditions include Kuru, which is a lethal, incurable, degenerative West
African (predominant in Guinea) disease affecting the central nervous system. It is caused by a
prion found in humans and said to be transmitted via endocannibalism. Another condition is the
Windigo psychosis which referred to a paranoia characterized by cannibalistic psychological
predispositions among Native American tribes such as Cree, Ojibwa and Chippewa due to food
scarcity during winter. Those affected would suffer severe anxiety, sometimes resulting in suicide
to avoid turning into the flesh eating Windigo monsters. Yet another of the reproductive kind with a
psychological connection is the Oriental (mainly Indian) Dhat (O Neil, 2010).
The Dhat Syndrome
This culture restricted condition has been mainly associated with the Asian continent, the Indian
subcontinent in particular, and is also known as the sexual psychosis of the Orient or the anxiety of
semen loss. It is quite common, especially among the Indian people and it mainly occurs in young
men from their late teens to their forties. The word dhat is derived from dhatu , a Sanskrit word,
meaning elixir constituting the body (Mehta, De, Balachandran, 2009). In clinical psychology, it is

Analysis Of The Glass Castle By Jeannette Walls
As frigid snow frosts the sun licked ice, a glacial wind howls against the trees. As a child, one
would sip hot chocolate and watch a movie with their family. However, Jeannette Walls would be
sitting on a dirty floor, cold with no food. In The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, it is revealed that
as Jeannette grew up, she endured hardships inflicted upon her by her own parents. However, if
Jeannette had not gone through these things, she never would have gained the characteristics that
she values present day. Although Jeannette Walls faced destitution and endured anguish during her
childhood, these obstacles formed her into a self reliant woman who proves that just because she
did not have as much money as other families, she can still achieve success in her life.
Throughout her life, starting from childhood, Jeannette Walls suffered through multiple hardships
that could lead her away from a successful adult life. Since she was young, her parents put her
through things that a child should never be exposed to, which could lead her to make these same
mistakes as she grew older. For example, her father was an alcoholic, and from this many problems
sprouted. Furthermore, her mother never wanted to be tied down, and loathed the idea of family
life, as she did not want the responsibility of raising a family. Rose Mary was depicted as self
centered in the novel, and did not think of her children, as she only thought of her own needs. This
can be shown when she keeps the diamond ring her children found for herself. Instead of thinking
of her starving children, she states that, self esteem is even more vital than food (Walls 186). In this
moment, Rose Mary shows that she is not thinking of her children and what they need to survive,
but only cares about herself and what she has. Under these circumstances, any other parent would
use the ring to buy food for their children, but instead she shows her inconsiderate nature by
keeping the ring for herself. Another example of an event that could scar Jeannette far into her life
would be when her father brought her to a bar and allowed a strange drunk man to take Jeannette to
his apartment. When she told her father that she had almost been raped, he does not listen to

Open Availability In Nursing Home
We live in a day and age where most Canadians do not concern themselves with the odds of them
being placed in a long term care facility due to the presence of our health care system, however, a
greater number of individuals should be more cogitative about the possibility of needing to be
put in a home and that not being an immediate option. According to the Ontario Long Term Care
Association (2015) over 40% of the long term care homes in Ontario are small, with 96 or fewer
beds. With the aging of the baby boomers within the next couple of years, 96 beds are simply not
enough. The hardship of leaving the comfort of one s home is stressful enough, without having to
worry whether or not there will be open availability in the local nursing home. This report examines

There are two simple solutions to this problem: open more long term care facilities and have
them subsidized or offer optimal home care services. No person should be without care,
especially when they need it the most, just as no person should be forced to stay at home in
unsafe circumstances or be stuck in a hospital due to there being no rooms available at a nearby
long term care centre. There are few individuals who choose not to go into a long term care
facility, however there are also many people who don t have the option to enter a home due to
absence of facilities. As a result of lack of long term care amenities, waitlists have skyrocketed.
With respect to the long term care facility called Riverview Gardens, located in Chatham,
Ontario, 9 out of 10 people wait 437 days for basic accommodations (Community Care Access
Centre, 2016). The worst part is that most of the people who are on the waitlist are elderly,
meaning that it could be dangerous if they are forced to stay home while they wait for a
placement. The Family Caregiver Alliance (2015) reported that approximately 63% of people in

Gilgamesh Female Characters
In this paper, I am going to analyze the female characters that caught my attention the most in the
three stories The Epic of Gilgamesh, Thousand and One Nights, and Candide. They all are
important characters in each of the stories and their influence in the story is to help. These stories
also depict how women were being treated during these times such as being used for their bodies
and wisdom. The characters that I will be analyzing in the paper are Shamhat, Ishtar, Shiduri,
Sharazad, the Old Woman, and Cunegonde. In all three stories, they mostly share the same
depictions of the role of women and how women weren t really important besides their bodies.
To start off, there were three characters from The Epic of Gilgameshthat interested me, so I will
begin by analyzing them. The first character was Shamhat. She was a hierodule, temple prostitute,
that Gilgamesh used to help civilize Enkidu. Besides being a prostitute, she caught my attention
because of her caring personality and generosity. She did things that she wasn t obligated to do
such as taking off some of her clothing to cloth Enkidu. She also went out of her way to teach
Enkidu how to eat, dress himself, and keep himself groomed like a human being should.
Shamhat isn t a jealous or possessive lover, she prepared Enkidu for life outside of the wild and
let him discover the world on his own. Shamhat was ultimately a positive figure in the story and in
Enkidu s life because she inspires him to move further in life

Mary Rowlandson s Captivity Narrative
Mary White Rowlandson was a mother, a wife, and a servant of God. She is remembered most for
her eleven weeks of captivity and her writing of the event. Mary was a Puritan from the town of
Lancaster, Massachusetts during the 1600 s. Mary s journey with the Algonquians tells many about
her resolve and about how Goduses his followers. It is highly important to take the time to
understand what happened in her life, how she wrote, what happened around her and how she is
criticized.
During the first few months of 1675, the inhabitants of Lancaster, Massachusetts, felt so unsafe that
they sent their pastor, Joseph Rowlandson, to plead for protection from the Massachusetts General
Assembly ( Mary Rowlandson s Captivity Narrative. ). During the pastors absence, an Algonquian

. . ) Boswell explains:
During the twentieth century, scholars of the Colonial American period have continued to
acknowledge the value of Mary s text; indeed, this text has been read as a captivity narrative, a

traumatic stress syndrome, an historical account of King Philip s War, and another glimpse into the
Puritan mind ( Mary . . . )
Mary s work is read as many things, but shares many similarities to slave narratives. Boswell

Rowlandson s recounting of her eleven weeks of captivity shares characteristics with Bradstreet s

Unrealistic Expectations Of Young Adolescents
When comparing this television show to other young adolescent programs this one is the most
realistic, in my opinion. But of course to keep the show entertaining for the audience they mix in
unrealistic expectations or situations they may face in real life. One example is Riley having her

buying other clothes instead. Riley simply pulled out her credit card to pay for the clothes .If a

How Is Hitler A Victim Of Post-War Propaganda
The Myth dispeller
Is Hitler a victim of post war propaganda; why has the term Nazi become a term of abuse and was
Hitler really a racist?
Myth #1 Propaganda in the west
Hitler was not averse to treading on people s toes and the biggest toes he trod on are those of the
Jews. Like others before him, he stemmed the tide of European Jewry, but failed to conquer
worldwide Zionism, especially in the U.S. The legacy he left behind him and especially his final
testament still echo s today. Centuries will pass away, but out of the ruins of our towns and

Hitler believed in the superiority of races and distinctions amongst them, not racism which is a
dislike of colour. The Second World War German army was the most ethnically diverse in history.
Hitler simply believed in the separation of races and the total exclusion of the Jews. The white

I firmly believe that in times to come, probably not in our lifetime, the west will again awake and
view Hitler as a man ahead of his time, a prophet. The Jews are a clever and manipulative race, but
their downfall, repeated throughout history, is that their genetic inheritance and a racial
predisposition for wealth, deception and control, means that they are destined to repeat the same
mistakes, which led Hitler to embark on a National Socialist

Dissociative Experience During Childbirth
The article I chose was Dissociative experience during childbirth. This experiment was assessing
whether or not labor pain, traumatic childbirth, obstetrical variables, and previous trauma were
part of causing a dissociative experience during childbirth. The method used to study the
hypothesis was by having 328 women completed five surveys up to 72 hours postpartum. They
were between the ages of 18 42. Out of the group 68.6% were married or living with a partner
and 43.3% had a job. The average number of years the women spent in school was 8.8yrs. More
than half (59.2%), did not complete high school and only 2% (6) completed higher education.
From the group, 19.2% of them had a miscarriage before. More than half (51.5%) had already...

The program R v2 version 10.0 was used to analyze the data.
The results indicated that dissociative experience was more common in women that considered
their childbirth traumatic. Some things that were associated with having dissociative experience are
previous trauma, obstetrical complications at birth, forceps, prematurity, complications with the
infant, not being happy with the maternity care, not having a job, a lot of pain, and education
levels. A total of 11.3% (37 women) experienced significant dissociation. Sense of time changes,
things occurring in slow motion, not knowing what is going on, feeling uncertain or disoriented
about where they were or what time it was, things that they are not aware happened at the childbirth
and blacking out or spacing out were reported as being the most common dissociative symptoms.
Below is a graph from the article with details on the results; At the end of the experiment, the author
found that Dissociative experiences are possible during childbirth in particular symptoms. These
symptoms include sensation of a change in the pace of time, not being aware of certain things that
happened, and disorientation. Traumatic childbirth also impacted perinatal dissociation. Traumatic

Challenges Of Air Freight Demand And Potential Solutions...
Challenges in Air Freight Demand and Potential Solutions
1.Introduction
Air freight market is not stable and might be weak because of uncertain international trade increase
(Barnard,2015). There was fluctuation in air cargo demand over the last 10 years from 2006 to
2016 which indicates that cargo demand could be changed by some external and internal influences.
Some figures were released about worldwide air freight market and presented that air cargo
capacity increased 2.2%, comparing to 2014. While this was the 5% growth calculated by The
International Air TransportAssociation (IATA), the growth of cargo volumes in 2015 was much
slower than 2014(Barnard, 2015). However, some experts pointed out that global air freight market
get a positive growth from 2011, and it is enjoying a relatively steady growth, due to the enhanced
trade and economic recovery after the global financial crisis of 2008(Huang,2016). Because of
sluggish world trade growth, air cargo suppliers face a lot of challenges including alternative
transportation, perspective uncertainty and unexpected policy and here are some potential
solutions: improving customers service, efficiency, security and reducing negative environmental
impacts.
This essay attempts to describe current air freight market conditions, challenges in air freight
demand and generate potential solutions to increase air cargo demand. It is divided into four parts:
air freight, current demand for air freight, challenges, and potential

Mrs. de Winter, Mrs. de Winter not friend of Mrs. Van hopper. She is trainers Mrs. de winter to

is the servant. Another change is that in the movie the event especially, when Maxim knows
about the Rebecca s illness he go to the Dr. Baker to ask him what she suffer of, then the Doctor
tells him Rebecca suffers from seriously ill and in the movie Dr. Baker tells Maxim that
Rebecca suffers from cancer. In the other hand the last different I will show you it is Manderley

Theme Of Fear In Lord Of The Flies
In the Novel lord of the flies, it is evident that the stranded school boys attempt to build a

factors including; Being stranded forever possibly, A beast and starvation. These fears divide
the group of school boys and blinds the boys from the most important goal, surviving till their

English school boys that were in a plane crash while in the process of fleeing the war. The boys

his sense of abandonment when he says They re all dead, said piggy an this is an island. Nobody

young boys, and paves the path for the fear grow like fire. As if abandonment is not enough

Important Element For Employee s Career Growth
Summary: Some multicultural characteristics that can cause individuals to sell themselves short
and lack of confidence. Women are actually more likely to express their lack of confidence. The
feeling of I don t belong here is a mental barrier that is part of the multicultural characteristics that
hold people back. Their competence and performance were never an issue. All employees want
to be included in communicating inclusiveness, multicultural employees tend to feel as though
they are not included or that their opinion is not valued. Multicultural employees are considered
to be polychromic employees. This leads managers to believe that they are not ready for a
promotion and prefer to be stuck in their comfort zone. Moving from supporting role to
headliner, many diverse employees believe that in order to advance their careers their
performance must be good. Top executives also require that they have created and developed a
good organizational reputation and credibility. Getting and giving critical feedback is an
important step to advancing one career path. An important element for employee s career growth
is feedback. When an employee is not getting feedback, particularly critical feedback, it can and
has ruined many careers. Millennial employees will request a wide range of responsibilities, even
on the first day of work and do not be astonished will they completed the entire assigned
responsibilities. They have a can do attitude, but often require frequent feedback

Relationship Between Wildlife And Wildlife
In areas of the world where economic development has been in delicate balance with protecting
wildlife and natural environments, conflict has arisen between humans and the wildlife. In Africa
(bless the rains) and Asia habitat is being replaced by small scale agricultural needs, and
agribusiness (1) resulting in human wildlife conflict; within India alone as many as 1144 people
were killed between April 2014 and May 2017 (2) according to their environment ministry. This
increased conflict between species has had detrimental impacts on conservation efforts, such as with
the Asian elephant.
Elephants have seen incredible habitat loss due to human encroachment, now with about 20% of
the world s human population living in or near the present range of them (4). As a result of this
the interactions between the two have become tense. Cases have been documented of them crop
raiding (3) and in parts of Sumatra it can be the most significant source of park people conflict.
(3) As these crops can be a large part of local people s livelihoods, ensuring as little wildlife ruins
them as possible is essential. However a study conducted showed that elephants raided crops
year round at a rate of 0.53 a day in their study area, and (3) such regular interactions resulted in
24 deaths within the study area over a 12 year period. With their loss of habitat comes a loss of
food and resources, coupled with the fact that human settlements will have a regular supply of food,
it only makes sense

Lloyd Jones, was a teacher. Wright grew up in Madison, Wisconsin for the majority of his
childhood. He would work on his uncle s farm during the summers; where he developed his deep
appreciation for nature. Wright would preach the importance of organic architecture and building

designs were his Prairie style designs and his Usonian designs. Frank Lloyd Wright, was one of the

Analysis Of The Poem How Of Tame A Wild Tongue
The essay, How to tame a wild tongue written by Gloria Anzaldua is a staggering piece on important
social issues such as racism, cultural differences, individuation, and domination. Anzaldua believes
that her language is yet the most central and important component for her ethnic identity as a
person. If her language is threatened, then her individuality is threatened. She basically responds to
the violence she experienced as her character was restricted in this dominating society that she was
trying to adapt in. Anzaldua used quotes from various scholars who feel the same way about the
society as she did about language, identity, racism, and cultural imperialism. Additionally, her
writing was based on personal experience which enriches the essay with credibility since the
reader is able to get the experience first handed by the victim of these crimes. Furthermore, as an
immigrant myself, I was attracted to this essay because I could relate to many of the topics she
covered. I also saw this as a way to compare my experience with hers so I could see how much
this society has improved overall. I was gulped in the essay by the use of metaphor in the beginning
of the essay which created this interesting curious vibe that grasped my attention. A dentist visit was
used metaphorically to describe the struggle between her identity and the society. The doctor
symbolized the society, and her tongue represented her identity as it was trying to survive in the
restricting society

India Association Plans A Newsletter
The poem India Association Plans a Newsletter by Sharat Chandra has a lot of meaning to it behind
retaining home culture in another country. Throughout the poem, Chandra discusses on how the
second generation children should still preserve their own culture, and not forget about the heritage
you came from. The poem itself can be understood in a way that is meaningful for all new
immigrants who wantto sustain their own heritage in another land which is why today s reader
should pay attention to this poem. Personally, I feel the poem can tell today s readers about the
problems with being too Americanized. Sharat Chandra uses metaphor, imagery, and symbols in
IndiaAssociation Plans a Newsletter to convey a sense of what relieves the younger generation
from falling back too behind on their own culture, and not completely wash it down just because
you are living in a different country.
Breezing through the poem I can spot metaphors, and those are the ones that contradict what
Chandra says in the previous lines. Chandra is an immigrant from India who has been in the
U.S. for about two decades. Today s readers can get a sense of motherhood after reading this
because the poet says, to make India over there to become India over here (Line 7); this can be
interpreted in a such way that just because we are in the United States it doesn t mean that we can t
bring our country here. The motherhood literally refers to as giving birth or raising a child, but in

My Life Of My Brother Essay
My brother is seven years younger to me. And as a little girl, no one waited for him, like I did.
No one, not even my poor mother who carried him for 9 months. Every time my mother came
back from her regular check ups, I went straight to her bedroom and searched both sides of my
mother. Mommys always bring babies from hospital, my little mind thought. I paced around my
mother s bed, I used to be constant state of worry Where is my brother? There were days I
blamed my mother, She must be late and they closed the hospital May be, she didn t like the
babies available. Ok, let s wait till they update the stock! Trust me, it was very taxing to work my
emotions through. But my worst memory of my kid brother popping in this world was when I
saw my mother lying on the bed and a strange thought came to my mind we always kept new
things in the storeroom adjacent to the bedroom and I thought, may be, my mother kept the new
baby on her woollen trunk. Oh boy! What if he falls? My mother has no sense new babies
should be handled with care! I ran into the storeroom and found nothing there. I can t tell you
how relieved I was. Thank God! But I gave a good stare to my mother as I passed by her that day.
Days went by and mommy didn t bring my brother home. I was disturbed, I wanted him to arrive

Is Ibct Is A Couples Therapy Approach That Helps Couples...
IBCT Model (1 pg. Lizbette) IBCT is a couples therapy approach that helps couples facing highly
distressed situations (Briggs, Finley Sprenlete,2015). IBCT stems from Behavioral Couples
Therapy (BCT); however, due to a lack of outcomes that demonstrated successful long term effects
in couples, IBCT was created (Jacobson Christensen, 1996). As stated by Jacobson and
Christensen (1996) IBCT consists of elements of emotional acceptance and tolerance to address
issues that BCT was unable to do. This was done to add a sense of sympathy and compassion to
couplesexperiences and to find solutions to help couples with their problems. According to Briggs
et al. (2015) the steps in treating couples using IBCT involve creating a treatment plan, individual
and joint sessions which occur during the first four sessions of the therapeutic process. During the
assessment session couples are asked to remember and talk about what made them fall in love and
how they met in order to find and highlight strengths the couple holds (Mairal, 2015). After the
assessment and initial phase is conducted, then treatment can begin which consist of building
intimacy, helping couples move from their stuck phase and influencing change (Briggs et al., 2015).
There are several interventions used in IBCT. One of the most important interventions is emotional
acceptance. Emotional acceptance involves empathetic joining around the problem, increase
tolerance of an aversive problem and increase self care

Objectives:
1) Learn about motor and generator operation.
2) Generate and use motor torque/speed curves.
3) Learn about gear ratios and observe how they affect the rotational speed and torque of a motor or
generator.
Pre lab Questions
Answer the following questions before you begin the lab: For the motor characteristic curve shown
below, determine the equation of the line: torque (T) as a function of the rotational speed ( ). In the
figure below, is the stall torque and is the no load speed. The equation of the line should be written
in terms of the variables above.
How can you calculate the gear ratio of a simple gear train with two gears? List 4 expressions that
you could use to calculate the gear ratio. What is the difference between a motor and a generator?
(Hint: what are the energy conversions that occur in each)
Problem Description:
Motors and generators are used frequently in engineering applications. In fact, you will use them
in your final project. Gears (or pulleys) are usually used to transmit the power from the motor
(input) to the output. A pair of gears forms a simple gear train. As engineers, you will need to
understand how motors and generators work in order to pick appropriate ones to use in different
applications or to know how your design will behave when hooked up to a particular motor
/generator. In your final project for this course, you will use a generator (i.e. for wind power

I Want To Visit To Tulane
I want to attend a relatively small private school in an urban area with a challenging curriculum
and thought provoking courses. At Tulane, I would receive the opportunities to participate in
exceptional undergraduate research and to develop personal relationships with my professors.
Tulane also has my first choice major, Molecular Biology. Tulane has superb academic flexibility,
so I could easily double major in Molecular Biology and Chemistry. I have always had Tulane on
my collegeradar, because my father attended Tulane. Recently, I had the opportunity to come to
New Orleans and visit Tulane, and I am very grateful that I decided to come tour. When I came to
visit Tulane, I absolutely knew that this was the universityfor me. While touring Tulane, I fell in

During the information session, the admissions counselor mentioned the service learning courses,
and this was something that made Tulane stick out to me. I have toured a variety of other schools,
but none of those schools had opportunities like Tulane to participate in community service.
Recently, I went on Tulane s website and found a list of service learning courses and saw multiple
courses that interested me. One of the courses involved taking water samples from different areas
of New Orleans to monitor the health of the local water ecology system and reporting the results to
students and officials in the New Orleans area. The opportunities I would receive at Tulane to excel
academically, socially, and spiritually are unparalleled compared to any other college or university.

Essay On Automated Video Surveillance
A few decades ago, the dream of nearly every American was to one day own a car. In present age,
this dream has become a reality for the majority of the population. A 2001 report released by the
Energy Information Administration showed that on average America alone has approximately 1.79
cars per household ( Household vehicles energy, 2005).With all of the luxuries and technologies that
are made available for Americans, the United Stateshas proven that they are one of the most
advanced nations in the world. Now ask yourself: What would America be like without the
advanced technology that it has today? Culture and life would be much more different and

Automated video surveillance is one of these applications that monitors people and vehicles in real
time within a busy environment. The purpose of a surveillance system is to record properties and
movements of objects in a given area and inform authorities in case of an incident ( Javed, Shah,
2008). Automated video surveillance is very advantageous for the federal government of the United
States because it can help detect possible terrorist attacks. Automated manufacturing is another
application of automation and by far, it is the most important and useful in the United States. This
practice of automation is used to produced things in a factory way. Consequently, many of the
products that consumers purchase are the result of automated manufacturing. Some of these
products include automobiles, refrigerators, dishwashers and videogame consoles like the Xbox
360 and the PlayStation 3. Today there are numerous industries applying automated manufacturing
including the airline, automotive, mining, oil and food production industries (Vassar). An
additional application of automation is called home automation. Home automation works by using
advanced technology to control and do the jobs that people would normally do manually ( Home
automation, 2010). The best and simplest way to install home automation is while a house is still
being built. However, people who have houses already built can still have home automation

Tommy in his crib and turns the television on, gives him a couple of toys and places a sippy cup

for three years now on a business plan that seems to have no light at the end of the tunnel.
Writing countless business proposals with writes and re writes Jessica constantly daydreams
about the financial life she yearns for. She wanted to give Tommy more than he could ask for in
life. Today looked no different, but it didn t feel the same. Jessica had a business phone line that
she only gave investors and bankers the information to. While sitting back in a deep exhausted

Company A s nationally advertised brand is Brand X. Contribution to profit with Brand X is $40
per case.
Company A s re proportioned formula is sold under a private label Brand Y. Contribution to profit
with Brand Y is $30 per case.
Company A s objective is to maximize the total contribution to profit.
Three constraints limit the number of cases of Brand X and Brand Y that can be produced.
Constraint 1: The available units of nutrient C (n) is 30.
Constraint 2: The available units of flavor additive (f) is 72.
Constraint 3: The available units of color additive (c) is 90.

The other two extreme points must be solved using both line equations simultaneously: Of the five
extreme points, one point will provide the maximum profit contribution.
Solving for the extreme point where the color and nutrient lines intersect subtract the two equations:
1) 6X + 15Y = 90 Multiply this equation by 2 to eliminate the X variable
4X + 4Y = 30 Multiply this equation by 3 to eliminate the X variable
2) 12X + 30Y = 180
12X + 12Y = 90 Subtract equation two from equation one 18Y = 90 Y = 5 Substituting Y = 5 back
into the first equation
6X + 15(5) = 90 6X + 75 = 90 6X = 15 X = 2.5 Extreme point = (2.5,5)
Solving for the extreme point where the flavor and nutrient lines intersect subtract the two
equatitions:
1) 12X + 6Y = 72 4X + 4Y = 30 Multiply this equation by 3 to eliminate the x variable
2) 12X + 6Y = 72 Subtract equation two from equation one
12x + 12y = 90 6Y = 18 Y = 3 Substituting Y = 3 back into the first equation
12X + 6(3) = 72
12X + 18 = 72 12X = 54 X = 4.5 Extreme point = (4.5,3)

The Importance Of The Indian Removal Act
In class, we participated in a role play activity, which was a re play of the congress in 1830, when
the Congress was debating over whether or not to pass the Indian Removal Act. In history, the U.S.
president and the Cherokees signed a treaty, which not only established peace and friendship
between the U.S. and the Cherokees, but also guaranteed the Cherokees right to use their land
forever. However, the peaceful and friendly relationship was broken in 1830, when the Indian
RemovalAct was passed by the congress; the bill authorized the president to grant unsettled land
west of Mississippi in exchange for the lands that the Indians own currently. Although many resisted
the removal policy, many natives were eventually forced to leave their lands. Since the day the
Indian Removal Act was effective, the fate of the Cherokees were doomed approximately 4,000
Cherokees died on the march to the west, the situation continued to worsen as they reached their
relocated lands. Throughout the debate of The Indian Removal Act in the congress, many strong
and valid arguments were made. For instance, the Cherokeegroup launched an attack to the Andrew
JacksonAdministration group by querying the reasons of why they broke the treaty. The Andrew
Jackson Administration remained calm and they explained that the reason why that broke the treaty
is solely for the betterment of the U.S.; they argued that the importance of the nation s economy
growth outweighed the trust and friendship with

Briseis Vases In Act 1 Scene 1
The vase mentioned above is one of the few that has been attributed to the Briseis Painter. When
comparing the vases to each other the detail of the clothes on the people on the vases stands out.
The way that the fabric falls and repeals is something consistent in each of the vases attributed to
him. The fall in what can only be described as small waves, which also allows for the underside
of the cloth to be drawn making the cloth seem 3 dimensional. There is also a distinct way in
which he paints the facial features of his figures. The beardless subjects usually turnout with a
rounded chin that is jutting out. The bottom lips always seem slightly larger and their eyes are

In order to insure that this doesn t happen Briseis painter made sure to have certain iconography
that views would be able to understand and pick up on. If scene one where to be looked at with
no attention to detail the scene being presented would make no sense. In order to combat the
painter placed the image of a magic wreath being passed between them. A magic wreath is meant
to bring success to the carrier so it is already established that the person receiving it is going to
complete some type of task. The second scene uses the understanding of Poseidon s trident in
order to present its self. The only god that has such a tool is Poseidon so he is easy to identify.
The fact that he is pointing in the general area of the monster in a type of gesture that suggests
dismissal and command further corroborates the idea of what story is being told. The last scene
uses the understanding of who Athena is and how the sword is held up to display the idea of
Theseus return and success. This idea of story telling on cups is something that is very common of

Essay about Race and Ethnicity in Social Sciences
Use of the Terms Race and Ethnicity in the Social Sciences
Defining identity can be complex and therefore we have to investigate the factors involved that
make us who we are and how we are seen by others, collectively or individually. Social scientists
have to consider the key elements which shape identity, the importance of social structures and
agency involved. The differences and/or similarities between us are the focus that categorise and
label us in society. Knowing who we are is important for many reasons including, social rights,
obtaining a passport, housing, health, employment, marriage, and over all, being able to ascertain
who we are, and belong.

These subgroup identities highlight the relational factors which exist in categorising identity, each
requiring the other in order to make the comparison between ethnic differences, power and status.
Racialization and Ethnicization are preferred concepts as they contribute more to the idea that the
identities we adopt are part of a process and are not static, referring to a dynamic process rather
than a fixed state.
Categorisations from the 1970 s onwards, such as the definition of black or white , were too vague,
and failed to recognise the specific needs of other ethnic minorities. In order to monitor and measure
statistically the discrimination and underachievement of such groups, collecting ethnic statistics in
relation to race and ethnicity was necessary and these can be found in official government censuses.
Over the years it became apparent that categorisation of ethnic groups in the censuses rendered
some groups invisible (Questioning Identity, ch 4, p 137, section 4.1.1), for example Irish and
Welsh. The category of white has had to be expanded into subcategories as the white grouping
classification remained singular within the censuses until 2001, and ethnicization of whites was too
generalised. ( Questioning Identity: Kath Woodward ch.4 p138 Office of Population Censuses and
Surveys, 1991) These amendments show us that there have been changes in ethnic representation
and that there is more awareness regarding ethnic identities and

Critical Analysis of The Pardon Essay
Critical Analysis of The Pardon
Death and life are intertwined in such a way that one cannot come without the other. Richard
Wilbur uses graphic description to clearly express this in his work The Pardon, through a series of
events that ultimately bring a man to learn to mourn, after causing him a lifetime without love. As a
young boy, the speaker is traumatized by the death of his dog, and is thus lead to pursue a life that
lacks both love and the recognition of death. As an older man, the speaker comes to terms with his
losses as he sees the dog in his sleep. During this nightmare, it is evident that the sole purpose of the
dog s returning is to haunt the narrator for the mistake that he made. While the nightmare is just as

The boy is only allowing himself to be exposed to the sweeter scent of the honeysuckle, which
symbolizes his reluctance to accept death. As a young ten year old, the loss of a dog would
change the narrator s life significantly. Death something that he had never experienced before,
and to make it worse, it was happening to and individual which he had loved and had grown
extremely close to. The speaker openly tells us that he had been afraid. This fear that is instilled
in him was the seed for his inability to find love not only in life, but in death as well. Because he
knew nothing of death thus far in his life, he was so hurt by the loss of the dog that he stopped
loving it. The narrator was unable to find it within himself to forgive anybody for taking his
companion away from him, and at the same time, he went on to push away all affection and care
in his life; And I could not forgive the sad or strange in beast or man (lines 11 12). In doing this,
he was able to avoid dealing with the cruelty of death another time. There was no room inside of
him to forgive for all of the pain that he had to carry. From the point that his father took the
spade and buried [the dog] (lines 12 13), the narrator began to live his life stoically and plainly,
never stopping for love or to enjoy his years. This is apparent because at the end of the poem we
will see that he expresses his remorse for his past, and longs to mourn and love

Biodiversity, Or Biological Diversity
Introduction: Biodiversity, or biological diversity, is a term first coined in 1985 by Walter G.
Rosen concerning the number of species in a particular habitat and revolved around the idea that
diversity cannot solely be understood through numbers (Maclaurin and Sterelny, 2012). However,
before 1985 biodiversitywas related to concepts of genetic diversity and ecological diversity . This
allowed to further define ecological diversity with speciesrichness as the number of species in a
community of organism . Biodiversity is more than just the amount of species in an area but rather
better measured by taxic measures, molecular measures, and phylogenetic measures (Harper and
Hawksworth, 1994). Today, zoologists have estimated that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Our method of capture was the pitfall trap (digging a hole in the ground and placing a cup) that
was filled with isopropyl alcohol. The independent variables for this experiment included location
(habitat 1 vs habitat 2) and sun vs shade. The way biodiversity was measured through the arthropod
collection project by primarily using statistics including the sum of individual specimens, the sum
of taxa, and evenness. The sum of individual specimens allows for the depiction of abundance. The
sum of taxa is better known through richness or more specifically how common a certain
arthropod is. Lastly, using the Burger Parker index, evenness is the lack of dominance which is
known as 1/Pm (UNO Department of Biological Sciences,1999).
Methods:
This experiment was conducted in New Orleans and Kenner, Louisiana which are located in
Orleans and Jefferson Parish, however, Kenner is more suburban rather than city. Conducting this
experiment required setting out eight pitfall traps (four in each habitat) which were labelled cups
one through eight. This experiment was conducted over the time frame of three weeks in order to
collect approximately 100 200 arthropods. Every day for three weeks, cups (pitfall traps) were
placed in two different habitats (Kenner and New Orleans) and put out every morning and picked
up every night. The shade

DoD Directive
In further refining the role or limitations for a Chaplain, the Department of Defense provides
directives to bring clarity to more specific issues. The Chaplain is viewed as the subject matter
expert (SME) on religion. With this in mind, and his/her position as personal staff officer to the
commander, they are called on to advise commanders on issues pertaining to religion and the
accommodation thereof. Department of Defense Directive 1300.17 indicates specific guidance to
the acceptance of religious accommodations. Since the military places high value (DoD Directive
1300.7) on the right to free exercise of religion, commands are encouraged to accommodate
religious needs where appropriate. While on the outset, this does not apply directly to the Chaplain,
he/she is the SME on all matters pertaining to religion. Therefore, this directive again narrows,
limits, the scope of the Chaplain to religious matters. Commanders are encouraged to utilize the
expertise of the Chaplain when determining when and how to accommodate religious practices.
This fosters greater unit cohesion and unit readiness as it pertains to spiritual fitness and resiliency
(DoD Directive 1300.7).
Army Regulation
In the scope of understanding the role of a Chaplain, service level regulations contain the most
specific detail on limitations and refinement. Therefore, this study now turns to a review of

Innovative Sustainable Store Design Proposal 1. Introduction In today s dynamic and competitive
world many retailers have initiated to develop their stores as a brand, therefore creativity and

  • 2. Analyzing Interspecific Relations Between Species Found On... When visiting Te Raekaihou Point on the New Zealand Rocky Shore, our intent was to analyse interspecific relations between species found on the Rocky Shore and to investigate a pattern in the ecological community. Samples were taken using transect lines and quadrats, and observations were made both in terms of a site profile, as well as making measurements such as Salinity, pH of the Water, Air Temperature, Water Temperature and Light Intensity. The two species I have chosen to investigate the relationship between were the Ornate Limpet (Cellana Ornata) and the Black Nerite (Nerita Melanotragus). he main abiotic factors were Tidal Movement and the Substrate on the shore. The community pattern analysed was Zonation. This is shown in the Kite Diagram created from the class set of data, where there are distinct bands of species along the intertidal zone. The Rocky Shore Habitat is tidal, being on the coast of New Zealand, at Te Raekaihou Point, there were several rock pools, as well as a large amount of bare rock. The intertidal zone and exposure to air in this zone were important as several species living in this zone rely on the water to avoid desiccation, this is why crevices and rock pools were a key factor in the zonation and distribution of species on the Rocky Shore. Ornate Limpet (Cellana Ornata) The Ornate Limpet is a grazing shellfish, and can generally be found from the mid to high tide region, as is seen on the Kite Diagram (Appendix A), there were larger numbers ... It would be if hadn t won those competitions with the help of blood doping and drug use. Lance Armstrong was stripped of his title and bronze Olympic medal for the illegal athletic gain and his reputation went to absolute shambles. Steroid use in professional sports is not allowed and results in consequences, varying by sport; but in the Olympics, as The Baltimore Sun states, it takes two positive drug tests to be banned for life from anymore olympic competing. In his blog he describes how he does not blame all of the athletes for risking everything they have earned to try and make it to the leaderboard in what they do. This supports that everyone should be allowed to use steroids while in competition because when the stakes are so high, everyone will always look for any opportunity to be better than rest, regardless of rules. So in that case, we should take away all the rules and let everyone do the drugs at their own risk. In relation to put at their own risk, steroids are surprisingly less dangerous than alcohol. This was seen by Lincoln Allison, In general, the risk to health from performance enhancing drugs is considerably less than that from tobacco or alcohol. The brutal diction and sadistic atmosphere that picturize Perry s childhood leads the audience to revisit their initial impression of him. With a further glimpse into the man s background, Capote can continue his focus on providing a larger picture. In order to expand on Perry, Capote builds off of his physical trauma and discusses the emotional trauma that he had to face concerning his parents and siblings. His parents were separated and his mom became drunk who did not care for him and eventually he had a falling out with his father and with the multiple deaths of his siblings, Perry Smith revisited these memories many times. His sister, Fern Joy was a drunk who fell from the window of a hotel room. Falling she struck a theater marquee, bounced off it, and rolled under the wheels of a taxi (116), his brother Jimmy who had one day driven his wife to suicide and killed himself the next (69), and his mother, an alcoholic, had strangled to death on her own vomit (69). According to Capote, such drastic changes had lead Perry to some serious changes in which human life is not something important and is simply expendable. As the writer, he does not believe that Perry s involvement in the Clutter murder is forgivable but rather, compassion and sympathy should be shown toward him due to his unfortunate circumstances. The story of how my name, Jessica Lorraine , came to about began many years before my birth. There are countless reasons my parents chose my first and middle name, but the biggest decision they had to make was choosing my first name. Through the years before my birth a tragedy struck my family, and it brought great heartache to many. Although this tragedy brought great sorrow to the members of my family, my parents were able to take this pain and form it into a base for the name of their next child. A few years before my birth, in 1998, the death of my uncle Jason Crowe struck my mothers side of the family. His unexpected death affected the whole family; he had a large influence on everyone he met and had close relationships with all four of his siblings, including my mother Lorraine. Since this greatly affected my mother, she wanted to remember him in a special way. What other way to honor someone s life than naming one of your children after them. I wanted to have my second child s name start with a J, just like Jason s. My mother thought and then told her idea to the rest of her family and my father, Andy. The poet is angry for such heinous attitude of the British towards the slaves of the seventeenth century. And he bids farewell to the good old days with the introduction of the British Imperialism. But this system didn t last long when the poet mentions, Deciduous beauty prospered and is gone, But where the lawn breaks in a rash of trees. Siddhartha, while on this quest, searched for different mentors to teach him what they know, hoping to find truth and balance in and of the universe. At the end of the novel, Siddhartha reaches the enlightenment through many teachings. Govinda, Siddhartha dearest friend and confident, is often viewed as his Siddhartha s follower, or as his shadow. After being asked how he was able to reach enlightenment, Siddhartha draws the distinction between knowledge and wisdom. He says, No, I am telling you what I discovered. Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, be forfeited by it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it. (115). Siddhartha shares many teachings he has learned with Govinda. Siddhartha holds up a stone in example, showing that one thing is enfolded in the past, present, and future. He also stated that language is only a device, and that wisdom is not communicable. This means that, through experience, wisdom is attainable, but if you trying to teach enlightenment, the meaning will not be fully appreciated to whom it is taught. We also learn that not only Samana has left its mark on Siddhartha, but that also his brief contact with Buddha left its mark also. The Buddhist doctrine shows two opposites are Samsara and Nirvana. All truth has these two opposites, the truth side and the illusion side. When Gotama admits he has still not found peace, he suddenly has an inexpressible experience much like Siddhartha had when he met Vasudeva years before. Siddhartha then summons Govinda to kiss him on the forehead. Govinda feels as if he is touching perfection, the illustrious one, eternity, and gets a mystical transference from Siddhartha. ... The term is used to refer to particular conditions or symptom complexes, cognitive, behavioral or affective, which are apparently unique to specific cultures (Balhara, 2011). These culturerelated specific conditions may occur due to a particular set of environmental conditions combined with distinctive cultural practices within the limited area of occurrence, for that reason being exotic and somewhat rare. Several of these disorders have however been contested by modern medicine as being fallacious in their label as culture bound while others have held their ground as fact. Examples of these cultural conditions include Kuru, which is a lethal, incurable, degenerative West African (predominant in Guinea) disease affecting the central nervous system. It is caused by a prion found in humans and said to be transmitted via endocannibalism. Another condition is the Windigo psychosis which referred to a paranoia characterized by cannibalistic psychological predispositions among Native American tribes such as Cree, Ojibwa and Chippewa due to food scarcity during winter. Those affected would suffer severe anxiety, sometimes resulting in suicide to avoid turning into the flesh eating Windigo monsters. Yet another of the reproductive kind with a psychological connection is the Oriental (mainly Indian) Dhat (O Neil, 2010). The Dhat Syndrome This culture restricted condition has been mainly associated with the Asian continent, the Indian subcontinent in particular, and is also known as the sexual psychosis of the Orient or the anxiety of semen loss. It is quite common, especially among the Indian people and it mainly occurs in young men from their late teens to their forties. • 15. Analysis Of The Glass Castle By Jeannette Walls As frigid snow frosts the sun licked ice, a glacial wind howls against the trees. As a child, one would sip hot chocolate and watch a movie with their family. However, Jeannette Walls would be sitting on a dirty floor, cold with no food. In The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, it is revealed that as Jeannette grew up, she endured hardships inflicted upon her by her own parents. However, if Jeannette had not gone through these things, she never would have gained the characteristics that she values present day. Although Jeannette Walls faced destitution and endured anguish during her childhood, these obstacles formed her into a self reliant woman who proves that just because she did not have as much money as other families, she can still achieve success in her life. Throughout her life, starting from childhood, Jeannette Walls suffered through multiple hardships that could lead her away from a successful adult life. Since she was young, her parents put her through things that a child should never be exposed to, which could lead her to make these same mistakes as she grew older. For example, her father was an alcoholic, and from this many problems sprouted. Furthermore, her mother never wanted to be tied down, and loathed the idea of family life, as she did not want the responsibility of raising a family. Rose Mary was depicted as self centered in the novel, and did not think of her children, as she only thought of her own needs. This can be shown when she keeps the diamond ring her children found for herself. Instead of thinking of her starving children, she states that, self esteem is even more vital than food (Walls 186). In this moment, Rose Mary shows that she is not thinking of her children and what they need to survive, but only cares about herself and what she has. Under these circumstances, any other parent would use the ring to buy food for their children, but instead she shows her inconsiderate nature by keeping the ring for herself. Another example of an event that could scar Jeannette far into her life would be when her father brought her to a bar and allowed a strange drunk man to take Jeannette to his apartment. When she told her father that she had almost been raped, he does not listen to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Open Availability In Nursing Home We live in a day and age where most Canadians do not concern themselves with the odds of them being placed in a long term care facility due to the presence of our health care system, however, a greater number of individuals should be more cogitative about the possibility of needing to be put in a home and that not being an immediate option. According to the Ontario Long Term Care Association (2015) over 40% of the long term care homes in Ontario are small, with 96 or fewer beds. With the aging of the baby boomers within the next couple of years, 96 beds are simply not enough. No person should be without care, especially when they need it the most, just as no person should be forced to stay at home in unsafe circumstances or be stuck in a hospital due to there being no rooms available at a nearby long term care centre. There are few individuals who choose not to go into a long term care facility, however there are also many people who don t have the option to enter a home due to absence of facilities. As a result of lack of long term care amenities, waitlists have skyrocketed. With respect to the long term care facility called Riverview Gardens, located in Chatham, Ontario, 9 out of 10 people wait 437 days for basic accommodations (Community Care Access Centre, 2016). Gilgamesh Female Characters In this paper, I am going to analyze the female characters that caught my attention the most in the three stories The Epic of Gilgamesh, Thousand and One Nights, and Candide. They all are important characters in each of the stories and their influence in the story is to help. These stories also depict how women were being treated during these times such as being used for their bodies and wisdom. The characters that I will be analyzing in the paper are Shamhat, Ishtar, Shiduri, Sharazad, the Old Woman, and Cunegonde. In all three stories, they mostly share the same depictions of the role of women and how women weren t really important besides their bodies. To start off, there were three characters from The Epic of Gilgameshthat interested me, so I will begin by analyzing them. The first character was Shamhat. She was a hierodule, temple prostitute, that Gilgamesh used to help civilize Enkidu. Besides being a prostitute, she caught my attention because of her caring personality and generosity. She did things that she wasn t obligated to do such as taking off some of her clothing to cloth Enkidu. She also went out of her way to teach Enkidu how to eat, dress himself, and keep himself groomed like a human being should. Mary was a Puritan from the town of Lancaster, Massachusetts during the 1600 s. Mary s journey with the Algonquians tells many about her resolve and about how Goduses his followers. It is highly important to take the time to understand what happened in her life, how she wrote, what happened around her and how she is criticized. During the first few months of 1675, the inhabitants of Lancaster, Massachusetts, felt so unsafe that they sent their pastor, Joseph Rowlandson, to plead for protection from the Massachusetts General Assembly ( Mary Rowlandson s Captivity Narrative. ). Boswell acknowledges: Rowlandson s recounting of her eleven weeks of captivity shares characteristics with Bradstreet s elegies to her grandchildren, Annie Burton s Memories of Slavery Days, and Toni Morrison s Beloved. But of course to keep the show entertaining for the audience they mix in unrealistic expectations or situations they may face in real life. One example is Riley having her own emergency credit card. The girls were wanting to sell their clothes but got conned into buying other clothes instead. Riley simply pulled out her credit card to pay for the clothes .If a young adolescent was watching this show they would start asking her parents for a credit card. Myth #1 Propaganda in the west Hitler was not averse to treading on people s toes and the biggest toes he trod on are those of the Jews. Like others before him, he stemmed the tide of European Jewry, but failed to conquer worldwide Zionism, especially in the U.S. The legacy he left behind him and especially his final testament still echo s today. Challenges in Air Freight Demand and Potential Solutions 1.Introduction Air freight market is not stable and might be weak because of uncertain international trade increase (Barnard,2015). There was fluctuation in air cargo demand over the last 10 years from 2006 to 2016 which indicates that cargo demand could be changed by some external and internal influences. Some figures were released about worldwide air freight market and presented that air cargo capacity increased 2.2%, comparing to 2014. While this was the 5% growth calculated by The International Air TransportAssociation (IATA), the growth of cargo volumes in 2015 was much slower than 2014(Barnard, 2015). However, some experts pointed out that global air freight market get a positive growth from 2011, and it is enjoying a relatively steady growth, due to the enhanced trade and economic recovery after the global financial crisis of 2008(Huang,2016). Because of sluggish world trade growth, air cargo suppliers face a lot of challenges including alternative transportation, perspective uncertainty and unexpected policy and here are some potential solutions: improving customers service, efficiency, security and reducing negative environmental impacts. Anzaldua believes that her language is yet the most central and important component for her ethnic identity as a person. If her language is threatened, then her individuality is threatened. She basically responds to the violence she experienced as her character was restricted in this dominating society that she was trying to adapt in. Anzaldua used quotes from various scholars who feel the same way about the society as she did about language, identity, racism, and cultural imperialism. Additionally, her writing was based on personal experience which enriches the essay with credibility since the reader is able to get the experience first handed by the victim of these crimes. Furthermore, as an immigrant myself, I was attracted to this essay because I could relate to many of the topics she covered. I also saw this as a way to compare my experience with hers so I could see how much this society has improved overall. I was gulped in the essay by the use of metaphor in the beginning of the essay which created this interesting curious vibe that grasped my attention. • 39. Is Ibct Is A Couples Therapy Approach That Helps Couples... IBCT Model (1 pg. Lizbette) IBCT is a couples therapy approach that helps couples facing highly distressed situations (Briggs, Finley Sprenlete,2015). IBCT stems from Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT); however, due to a lack of outcomes that demonstrated successful long term effects in couples, IBCT was created (Jacobson Christensen, 1996). As stated by Jacobson and Christensen (1996) IBCT consists of elements of emotional acceptance and tolerance to address issues that BCT was unable to do. This was done to add a sense of sympathy and compassion to couplesexperiences and to find solutions to help couples with their problems. According to Briggs et al. (2015) the steps in treating couples using IBCT involve creating a treatment plan, individual and joint sessions which occur during the first four sessions of the therapeutic process. During the assessment session couples are asked to remember and talk about what made them fall in love and how they met in order to find and highlight strengths the couple holds (Mairal, 2015). Pre lab Questions Answer the following questions before you begin the lab: For the motor characteristic curve shown below, determine the equation of the line: torque (T) as a function of the rotational speed ( ). In the figure below, is the stall torque and is the no load speed. The equation of the line should be written in terms of the variables above. How can you calculate the gear ratio of a simple gear train with two gears? List 4 expressions that you could use to calculate the gear ratio. What is the difference between a motor and a generator? (Hint: what are the energy conversions that occur in each) Problem Description: Motors and generators are used frequently in engineering applications. In fact, you will use them in your final project. Gears (or pulleys) are usually used to transmit the power from the motor (input) to the output. A pair of gears forms a simple gear train. As engineers, you will need to understand how motors and generators work in order to pick appropriate ones to use in different applications or to know how your design will behave when hooked up to a particular motor /generator. However, the peaceful and friendly relationship was broken in 1830, when the Indian RemovalAct was passed by the congress; the bill authorized the president to grant unsettled land west of Mississippi in exchange for the lands that the Indians own currently. Although many resisted the removal policy, many natives were eventually forced to leave their lands. These subgroup identities highlight the relational factors which exist in categorising identity, each requiring the other in order to make the comparison between ethnic differences, power and status. Racialization and Ethnicization are preferred concepts as they contribute more to the idea that the identities we adopt are part of a process and are not static, referring to a dynamic process rather than a fixed state. Categorisations from the 1970 s onwards, such as the definition of black or white , were too vague, and failed to recognise the specific needs of other ethnic minorities. In order to monitor and measure statistically the discrimination and underachievement of such groups, collecting ethnic statistics in relation to race and ethnicity was necessary and these can be found in official government censuses. Over the years it became apparent that categorisation of ethnic groups in the censuses rendered some groups invisible (Questioning Identity, ch 4, p 137, section 4.1.1), for example Irish and Welsh. The category of white has had to be expanded into subcategories as the white grouping classification remained singular within the censuses until 2001, and ethnicization of whites was too generalised. The speaker openly tells us that he had been afraid. This fear that is instilled in him was the seed for his inability to find love not only in life, but in death as well. Because he knew nothing of death thus far in his life, he was so hurt by the loss of the dog that he stopped loving it. The narrator was unable to find it within himself to forgive anybody for taking his companion away from him, and at the same time, he went on to push away all affection and care in his life; And I could not forgive the sad or strange in beast or man (lines 11 12). In doing this, he was able to avoid dealing with the cruelty of death another time. There was no room inside of him to forgive for all of the pain that he had to carry. From the point that his father took the spade and buried [the dog] (lines 12 13), the narrator began to live his life stoically and plainly, never stopping for love or to enjoy his years. However, before 1985 biodiversitywas related to concepts of genetic diversity and ecological diversity . This allowed to further define ecological diversity with speciesrichness as the number of species in a community of organism . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... DoD Directive In further refining the role or limitations for a Chaplain, the Department of Defense provides directives to bring clarity to more specific issues. The Chaplain is viewed as the subject matter expert (SME) on religion. With this in mind, and his/her position as personal staff officer to the commander, they are called on to advise commanders on issues pertaining to religion and the accommodation thereof. Department of Defense Directive 1300.17 indicates specific guidance to the acceptance of religious accommodations. Since the military places high value (DoD Directive 1300.7) on the right to free exercise of religion, commands are encouraged to accommodate religious needs where appropriate. While on the outset, this does not apply directly to the Chaplain, he/she is the SME on all matters pertaining to religion. Therefore, this directive again narrows, limits, the scope of the Chaplain to religious matters. Commanders are encouraged to utilize the expertise of the Chaplain when determining when and how to accommodate religious practices. This fosters greater unit cohesion and unit readiness as it pertains to spiritual fitness and resiliency (DoD Directive 1300.7).
