What Is The Social Responsibility Of Architect
Introduction
In the process of the good spatial generation, architects are representatives of institutional
knowledge and the captain of the ship . They have power and control over designing and
production of space either directly by taking part in this process via their personal practices or
indirectly affecting it through their professional organizations they work for. This is where the role
of professional ethics in architecture comes to play and they should be limiting and leading this
power through describing architect s social responsibilities and also should be preventing unethical
attitudes in all kinds of spatial practices by using this power and knowledge. ( What is the Social
Responsibility of Architects? , 2010)

The architect, who works for the client, portrays and tries to work around the views of that client.
Architecture should ideally serve the people, but because of the clients control, this is hard.
Therefore architects have to choose between whether to serve the client or the people. ( What is the
Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010)
Most believe that because the client is the one paying them, their building will be built their way
and the architect is there to serve them. This is how the building, which possibly had enormous
potential becomes THEIR building meant to serve no one, but them. Eventually these projects end
up as failures. How can a project not designed keeping the users in mind serve the users?
Others, like the TAR (The Architects Resistance, formed by students from Columbia, MIT, and
Yale in 1968) believe the architect should be building for the people even though this is usually
different than the client. ( What is the Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010) Easy to preach
and hard to practice. Who said life is fair?
So what all does an architect need to know (in no specific order)?
What the client thinks he wants.

Frogs And Toad Book Report
This nonfiction selection is about frogs and toads, it informs the reader about the essential facts
about frogs and toads as well as introducing additional information you probably don t know.
Speaking about this, there were specific sections I enjoyed reading about more than others. For
instance, I cherished reading about how adult frogs cared for their offspring, it demonstrated the
grand amount of devotion certain animals provide for their young. Indeed, this impacted me
because it portrayed now animals have emotions too, and don t just care about themselves. For
example, the African bullfrog exhibits valiant actions because it attempts to ward off danger to any
animal that poses a threat to its eggs and tadpoles. It goes to such extent... Show more content on

Considering this, I would definitely continue reading other books on this topic because they
captivate me and I don t find them dull whatsoever. Further, this book contained multitudinous
information about frogs and toads, but the majority of it was simple facts and I want to read
another book that is complex and has facts that most people wouldn t know. However, this book
was adequate and has encouraged me to read other books about frogs. Equally, I find frogs
engaging because their features are unique compared to other organisms. To illustrate, frogs have
skin that they can breathe through and they don t have rib cages, making them one of the most
interesting animals in the animal kingdom. Specifically, I m longing to read a book about glass
frogs because their skin is see through and even scientists don t know why that is. In conclusion,
there is no doubt that I would read another book about frogs because there s a grand quantity that
I don t know about them and I m yearning to find out. They re such engrossing creatures that have
qualities that I want to read about as well as animals are my passion and all this would guide me

The Prevalence And Effect Of Workplace
Workplace bullying is a significant but complex issue that presents challenges for a large portion of
Australian firms. Depicted as a form of psychological violence, there have been continuous cases
resulting in serious mental injury or even death. Accordingly over the past decade, research against
workplace bullyinghas rapidly increased internationally including Australia. Since its first study in
the UK, following studies agree on the fact that workplace bullying has become a hazard
affecting people in their daily work life. Special attention is required as it is not a matter exclusive
to a certain region or industry. Its negative impacts being evident, managing and preventing it is a
major task for all workplaces concerned.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It found that 6.8 percent of Australian workers have been bullied at work six months prior to being
surveyed, with more than half experiencing bullying for longer than six months period. (Dollard
2012)
Also, the news article on the human cost of workplace bullying claimed that such conditions were
costing Australian economy between 6 to 36billion dollars a year. The major reasons pinpointed
were the reduced productivity, increase in number of absenteeism and turnover. In addition to its
impact on economy, workplace bullying has a devastating effect on the individual employees.
Bullying can bring significant damage to the victim s wellbeing, which in extreme cases leads to
suicide. Regarding a research conducted by Toni Mellington, an Australian health psychologist,
there is a direct negative relationship between bullying and health. (Gregor 2015) Employees who
claimed to have been bullied reported poorer health, with an increase in severity of bullying
increasing the chance of poorer health. The finding also suggested that the experience of merely
witnessing bullying can also have a negative impact on one s health, backing up the fact that
bullying affects not only the individual but the entire firm.
The eye catching studies above urge a prompt reaction towards resolving workplace bullying.
Currently everyone at workplace is potentially at the risk of being bullied. Knowing the prevalence
of bullying and the

Romance Of The Three Kingdoms
Romance of the Three Kingdoms romanticizes historical events in the late Han dynasty and the
Three Kingdom period. A series of campaigns, known as Zhuge Liang s Northern Expeditions
were adapted and glamorized in order to narrate a fictional incident starring how Zhuge Liang, a
chancellor regent, who managed to save not only himself without an army, but also the entire
empire; A king whose city was about to be attacked decided the only thing he could do to save it
was to order the gates be flung open. He then told the attacking force that the city was empty and
that they were welcome to enter. Suspicious that the king s words were a trick to tempt them into
an ambush, the enemy forces decided to move on and the king s empty city was saved. The tactic
stated above is called the Empty Fort Strategy. Throughout the late eighteenth century, Chinadid not
reject the outside world. It just failed to see that the globe had something to offer. China ran well
enough with cheap labour and efficient administration. Supply and demand was easily met in a way
that left no incentive to invest in technological improvement. Plus, China was unaware that an
economic, technological and cultural revolution was taking place in Europe and expanding
throughout the rest of the world. For this reason, China did not industrialize in the way that the
West did. China became weak and fell behind the technology race because of its poor leadership.

The Issues with Mesothelioma Litigation The individual who has created mesothelioma through

Fair Party 2017 The lamp post lights are shining down on us as were sitting on benches in a little
circle. It s nighttime out at the 2017 Fulton County Fair. Groups of people are lining up to get
into the fair for the Loverboy and Survivor Classic Rock concert. A few hours later the concert
will be over and people will be going home. That means it s time to pull the money trick on
people as they leave the concert later. My friends and I are at a party at my cousins camper. Hey

were walking towards us you could hear the loud slurping of them all drinking their milkshakes.
Nick introduced me, Gracie and Kenzie to all his friends. His friends names were Brock, Payton,
Ethan, Cody, and Trey. After we all introduced ourselves to each other we walked over to a big
area with bases. Who should be on each team, Nick asked. I don t care let s just make them even,
Gracie said. We all divided ourselves up into teams and started playing. My Team was in the
field while Nick s team was up to kick. Nick was the first kicker up, and I was pitching. Gracie,
Kenzie, Cody, and Ethan were behind me getting ready for Nick to kick. I pitch nick the ball then

Second Great Awakening Essay
During the Second great Awakening, new ethics and morals in the U.S were formed which molded
the changes in our government and beliefs in the Antebellum Period. The Second Great Awakening
created Protestant based religions that were the main influences that shaped the Antebellum Period.
Slavery reforms, sobriety, women s rights, and Temperance in the Antebellum Period, between the
War of 1812 in the Civil War, all descended from the Second Great Awakening. The Second Great
Awakening gave birth to a whole new set of religions and increased the membership in many
Protestant based religions. The Second Great Awakening turned the U.S into a religious country.

This idea carried into the Antebellum Period and was the backbone for the reforms that occurred in
it. The belief of a perfect Community meant that there should be equality even in skin color. For
example, the Abolitionist Movement, lead by people like William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick
Douglass, and Harriet Tubman, was a movement to end slavery and discrimination of African
Americans. The Abolitionist Movement was a movement for equality. Equality was one of the
main goals and influences in The Second great Awakening that carried into the Antebellum Period.
The religions created in the The Second Great Awakening also included the creation of
perfectionism. Perfectionism was not fully supported by Baptists and methodists because they did
not believe it would stop all sins. The main sin they did not think could be stopped by perfectionism
was drinking alcohol. In the Antebellum period, the Temperance Movement was one of the biggest
social reforms. The Temperance Movement was a movement during the Antebellum Period that
was against the consumption of alcohol because drunkenness was considered a sin. The Second
Great Awakening influence in the Antebellum Period is clearly shown with the pursuit of
perfectionism that transferred into the Antebellum Period. Without

Of Mice And Men Quotes About Lonliness
No one ever said lonliness is a great passtime, our whole is filled with it. We witness it almost
everyday and are, once in a while, affected by it, but never longer than we can bear. However,
many individuals during the Great Depression lived with this unbearable and inescapable
lonliness, working all day and not having anyone but themselves to care for them or to care for.
Jhon Stienbeck, the author of Of Mice and Men, demonstrates that too much lonliness can cause a
person to live with the unbearable pain of knowing that they only have themselves, shown with
Candy, Crooks, and Curley s wife Candy the old swamper showed how seniors were treated during
the Great Depression, and how because they were treated differntly. Candy says , in chapter 3,...

During the great depression coloured people were highley discriminated. In the book Crooks
said, S pose you didnt have nobody... a guy need somebody to be near him. Here Crooks reveals
his true loneliness by clearly stating he has nobody. Crooks is the stable buck on the ranch, and
completes the tasks that are too difficult for others to do. He is seen as inferior and is completley
unwanted, which leads to lonliness because no one wants to talk to him. He is never talked to,
so he is aloof and lonely and all he ever wishes for is someone to care for him or just be near him.
Another part of the novella Crooks shows lonliness is , long as you wont get out and leave me
alone, you might as well set down. this quote indicates that Crooks is aloof and unfriendly to
white men but, enjoys everyones company. That is because he is left all alone and never talked to,
so he finds great pleassure in the smallest interaction with others. Crooks tries to hide this but he
cannot because he is lonely some times he can not even bear it. Stienbeck demonstrate that when
an individual is always alone, he will find pleasure in the company of even his

Synopsis Of The Book The Outsiders By S. E. Hinton
In the book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Cherry Valance, a Soc or someone that is really rich,
says Things are rough all over. What she meant was that having lots of money and nice cars still
don t make it easy being a Soc. To greasers, Socs are just rich people who pick on poorer kids
because they can. In chapter 7 Randy talks about why Socs pick on others when he talks about
his best friend Bob after he is murdered: They spoiled him rotten...He kept trying to make
someone say No and they never did. A reader would see that this quote shines a little light on the
things Socs go through. This quote talks about how Bob s parents always gave him whatever he
wanted and never set any boundaries all he needed was something solid to stand on. Many other

Pony also believed that Bob was horrible and a bad person. Bob literally beat Johnny, a greaser,
almost to death. Ponyboy tells this to the readers but in chapter 8 Cherry tells the reader and
Pony who Bob was. He could be sweet sometimes, and friendly. But when he got drunk... it was
that part of him that beat up Johnny. Many readers would realize something then about Socs.
They re not all bad. It s that same thing with Dallas who was a gang member in New York and
moved to Tulsa Oklahoma. Dallas was very bad and did bad things but greasers still think that
He s part of who they are. Bob was sometimes nice and the greasers only saw the bad part of him.
At the beginning of the book, Cherry talks about how things are rough all over. Throughout the
story, Pony starts to realize why Socs are mean and hurt others. They are just trying to find the
limits. Pony realizes how Greasers and Socs aren t all that different under their layers. Cherry sees
this before Pony and tries to make him realize: Rat Race is the perfect name for it, She said, We re

Henri Matisse s The Red Studio
Henri Matisse s The Red Studio was created in 1911. The painting depicts an art studio with works
everywhere hanging on the walls, and on the floor. There are potted plants and sculptures on the
tables and the room is mostly red. This 5′ 4″ x 4′ 3″ painting was obviously well named.
Red is not the only color, there are hints of blue, yellow, orange, black, green, and pink worked into
the painting. Everything in the painting is still. There is no action and no movement, just the still
shot of the studio filled with art supplies, paintings, sculptures, furniture, and plants. The majority
of the shapes are square or rectangle. It is very linear with very little curved shapes. This brightly
colored painting does not have a ton of dimension.

Eating Dirt
What kinds of foods and eating practices are considered as the world s healthiest food and way
of eating and how they are accepted by global nations? According to Callahan s article, Eating
Dirt , eating dirt can be seen as pathological or maladaptive. Also, eating dirt may not be adapted
culturally and religiously; however, there are some adaptive benefits by eating dirt. Western
countries considered eating dirt, which is called geophagy, as a disease because microbes and
bacteria in the soil are pathological (Callahan, 2003, p. 165). Likely, there are foods and eating
practices that are widely accepted in some cultural way and religious way, but which may be

According to the article written by Louis Evan Grivetti, if Nigeria is a strong nation nutritionally
and America is an emerging country with shortages of food, American will receive foods such as
terminate porridge, locust bread, beetle soup (Grivetti, 1981, p. 61). This article indicates that
although insects are very nutritious, it may not be considered as foods to American because their
cultural eating habits are different than Nigerians. Callahan defines pica as a disease only because
we believe normal undiseased persons would not eat anything but traditional human foods; some
of those who do, some of the time, are at considerable risk because of their unusual appetites
(2003, p. 165). Callahan s definition of pica explains food items, soil, as an example and eating
habits may differ culturally. Especially, geophage benefits human body by providing calcium and
other minerals (Callahan, 2003, p.164). Likewise, eating an insect is called entomophagy.
According to the article written by David Raubenheimer and Jessica M. Rothman, entomophagy
is significant in the evolution of human diet and there are 1,600 species of insects are eaten

The Characteristics of Florentine Painting as Reflected in the Work of Masaccio
The Italian Renaissance was one of the most productive periods in the history of art, with large
numbers of outstanding masters to be found in many centres and in all the major fields painting,
sculpture, and architecture. In Florence, in the first half of the fifteenth century, there were great
innovators in all these fields, whose work marked a beginning of a new era in the history of art.
These innovators included Masaccio in painting,
It was Masaccio (1401 28) who, in his brief and amazing career, was the real successor of Giotto

Artists consider an increasing amount, the relationship with the spectator this is clearly shown in
the picture of the trinity and tribute money by Masaccio. Although Masaccio did not display this
particular characteristic in any of his known paintings many
Florentine artists made religious figures depicted with an individual appearance. Again the painting
of the Trinity depicts another characteristic and that is that of adding weight by using classical
features and forms. There is a very strong depiction of emotions and human feeling which is a very
effective feature in paintings; again
Masaccio visibly portrays this in the expulsion from Eden. Last of all there is a clear innovation
and development of mathematical system of perspective. This particular attribute is portrayed
strongly in many pictures of Masaccio s , trinity, evangelic annunciation and ucceo flood. For my
first charactersitic in which I will look more in depth into will be the Innovation and development
of mathematical and scientific system of perspective. In the Renaissance, art and science were
closely connected. Both the artist and the scientist strove for the mastery of the physical world, and
the art of painting profited by two fields of study that may be called scientific: anatomy, which
made possible a more accurate representation of the human body, and mathematical perspective.

In 1066, there was a new way of construction due to the arrival of the Normans. The Normans

Comparing Atkins and Weight Watchers Diets Essay
Comparing Atkins and Weight Watchers Diets
Of the many diets on the market today, Atkins and Weight Watchers have a huge following. The
followers of these two diets must adopt very different eating plans. You must decide before going
on one of these, which advantages are you looking for and which disadvantages can you live with.
The Atkins diet works on the notion that weight gain is caused not by fat intake or food portions, but
the way our bodies break down carbohydrates (betterhealthusa.com). Carbohydrates will turn to fat
if not burned by the body. If your body does not get enough carbohydrates, it will use stored fat.

However, it is restrictive considering you are not allowed any breads or fruit. This, by default, cuts
out many nutrients you need, while increasing saturated fat intake. This lack of nutrients can lead
to osteoporosis and liver damage. Many Atkins dieters have noticed that their breath does not
smell good. This diet can also get boring because of the food restrictions. It can also be hard to
completely cut out carbs and this diet would be almost impossible for vegetarians. The Weight
Watchers diet works on the notion that if you eat fewer calories than your body burns, you will
lose weight. If you eat more calories than your body can burn, the extra calories will be stored as
fat, causing weight gain. This diet has some advantages and disadvantages. Unlike the Atkins diet,
Weight Watcher dieters find that their weight loss is much slower and steadier. This plan works in
a very different way. There is a points system that goes along with this diet.
Every food has a certain amount of points, and you must stay within the allocated range of points
per day. The range depends on your size, but an average person must stay between 18 25 points
per day. One apple has one point. You may eat anything you desire, as long as you don t go over
your points. You are told to keep a food tracker handy to count all your points. This can be time
consuming. There are also many pre prepared

said to signify Christ. It makes this connection by using the statement; Christ loves the darkness of
night because he does not want sinners who are represented by darkness to die but to be converted
and live (Aberdeen Bestiary). The Bestiary continues by stating, [Christ] He flees from the light, in
the sense that he does not look for the glory of human praise (Aberdeen Bestiary). The lesson from
this passage is that Christ did not actively seek the light similar to how owls avoid the light. That

As an ancient Ammonite god, Moloch was worshiped by the Canaanites, Phoenicians, and other
cultures in North Africa. The Phoenicians and Canaanites would require sexual rituals as well as
an expiatory child sacrifice by the parents. These sacrifices have typically been understood to
mean burning a child alive. Specifically, the idols of Moloch were giant statues of a man with a
bull s head where idol had a hole in the abdomen. A fire was lit around the statue and the baby
was placed in the hole so that it could be ritually sacrificed. It was believed that Moloch would
provide prosperity for the family and future children. While this practice has been eliminated, a
similar practice has recently arisen that uses the deity of

The Importance Of Attending Templeton High School
My name is Sherman Arend and I am planning to attend Templeton High School. To prepare
myself for inside the classroom, I have tried to improve my mind and critical thinking. I try to

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Essay
The Truth Even If It Didn t Happen: One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest By: Aubree Martinez
Period 1 One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey is one of the greatest novels of the
1960s that expertly uses mental illness, rebellion, and abused authority to captivate the readers.
This book is densely populated with interesting characters, such as the new admission R.P.
McMurphy, that makes you dive below the surface of sanity, rebellion, and authoritative issues
that are spread throughout the pages. The different elements incorporated within this book
leaves readers digging to find out the answers to the questions the surface of the text could not
explain. In this book, the rebellious and Messiah like McMurphy passes his tendencies and
courage onto his fellow patients in a fight to free their trapped minds and jailed souls from the
hands of authority. Within the walls of the institution the novel takes place in, mental illness is a
prominent theme. The fact that the narrator Chief Bromden is a diagnosed schizophrenic greatly
affects the text and how people may interpret it. Like a cartoon world, where the figures are flat
and outlined in black, jerking through some kind of goofy story that might be real funny if it
weren t for the cartoon figures being real guys. . . (Kesey 33). Bromden sees the world through his
eyes like a cartoon and doesn t have a clear grasp on reality due to his schizophrenia plagued mind.
Bromden views the people on the ward as

Dulce Et Decorum Est Comparison
How does war make you feel? Imagine how soldiers feel during the war and after, they have had
to watch many innocent people suffer and die, maybe even their own friends. Both poems
Dulce et D Decorum Est and Who s for the Game? give readers a sense of what soldiers see and
how they feel. War never fully leaves the soldiers even after they are not in battle anymore. Both
poems give readers a little bit of the soldiers point of view and show how soldiers have to be
brave even though they may be scared but who is actually up to fight. I believe the poems are
supposed to give readers the effect of sadness and fright maybe just thinking of what soldiers have
to endure but also makes them think about if they would be brave enough to fight themselves.
Firstly, In Dulce et Decorum EstWilfred Owen talks about things he see during the war that he
fought in and gave graphic details about when he seen a man die by being overcome with poison
gas. This is shown on lines (13 16) when Owen says, Dim through the misty panes and thick green

If possible, the ends of the healthy colon that remain will be stitched or stapled together to allow
your body to expel waste (stool).
Sometimes, the remaining colon cannot be stitched back together. If this is the case, a colostomy
will be needed.
For a colostomy:
в—‹ An opening to the outside of your body (stoma) is made through the abdomen.
в—‹ The end of the colon is brought to the opening. It is stitched to the skin.

Causes Of Operation Anaaconda
Lack of Planning during Operation Anaconda
It has been 16 years since the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and
Pentagon which resulted in thousands dead, thousands injured and millions affected across the
globe. In the wake of these terrorist attacks, the Nation had been rocked at its core, as symbols of
our freedom lay in rubble and ash. These acts of terrorism aimed to tear the country apart but much
to the terrorists surprise, their acts brought the Nation together with one common goal in mind. As
Americans, there was no choice but to expeditiously act with force and make clear statement that
America will not bow, surrender or cower to terrorists. Zimmerman (2012) On March 2, 2002
Operation Anaconda, the largest battle in Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan was executed.
Operation Anaconda was designed from its inception with one objective in mind, destruction of
Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorist networks that had created a strong hold in the Shah i Kot Valley in
the Paktia province, Afghanistan. Overall, Operation Anaconda was a success, General Tommy
Franks, the commander of CENTCOM in 2002 said that the operation s plan didn t survive first

The Conflict Of Humanitarian Intervention Essay
Humanitarian intervention has been debated since long time ago, since the end of Cold War.
This issue has been a good point in International Relation studies. Many intervene has been done

happened between the Hutu and Tutsi, ethnic group from Rwanda. Hutu extremist blamed Tutsi
bring a lot of bad social impact to the country, they were also accused as the people behind rebel

hotter than ever by the use of propaganda and politic maneuver by Habyarimana and its group.
The tension reach its point in 1994 when a helicopter carried Habyarimana was shot down, and
the violence began immediately after that. Hutu starting to collect their people and launched an

To The Memory Of Some I Knew Who Are Dead And Who Loved...
The Easter Rising of 1916 occurred in Ireland in the midst of World War One, and the two events
are closely entwined. Many Irish people initially struggled to reconcile the politics of Irish
nationalism with Irish contributions to World War One. George Russell was one of the first to
attempt to offer an equal commemoration of both events. In 1917, Russell published his poem To
the Memory of Some I Knew Who are Dead and Who Loved Irelandin the Irish Times. This poem
was a revised version of Salutation, which Russell had written to commemorate the rebels of the
Easter Rebellion. In the revised version, Russell interspersed each stanza about the rebels with
stanzas about Irish soldiers. Russell unites these two great losses and their ideologies. He reveals
the shared struggle in the trauma of both events, forming the foundation for a collective memory
and shared Irish identity. To the Memory of Some I Knew anchors the nationalism of World War

Robinson Crusoe Literary Criticism

Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe is a tale based on the real survival of a Scottish merchant

It may have outdated ideas and themes but that is a product of literature of the 18th century.
Survival in the 1700s on a deserted island is the same as survival on a desert island today witch I
find interesting. Except Crusoe had access to firearms. Throughout his time on the island, he
relies heavily on a fowling piece (and un rifled musket designed to use multiple round lead balls,
this gave each ball less overall velocity, but it was designed to be used at close ranges similar to a
shotgun) this gave him the biggest advantage on the island. I agree with McInally that
colonialism and expansion of trade were some of the biggest themes of the novel. Defoe s was
writing about what he knew and experienced. Also from the stories about the savageness and
unforgiveness of the new world. The most important theme was the mastering of oneself and
destiny before you can truly understand what is important to you and how you are going to live
your life. Throughout crusoe s time of the island this continues, cultivates barley, rice and corn,
builds a fort, domesticated goats, He kills the cannibals and rescues friday, reconnects to God and
himself, and finally gets rescued. Only after mastering the whole island, Crusoe gets rescued. If

The Concept Of Heteronormativity Is The Belief That It Is...
The concept of heteronormativity is the belief that it is only normal natural and universal to have
two different genders. In addition to these two genders it would only be normal if there were clear
and distinct differences between the two. This would include ones biological sex, ones gender
identity, and ones genderrole in society. This would also mean it would be considered normal if
these two different genders sexuality were heterosexual. Meaning a normal sexual orientation
would only be between one male and one female. Our society defines these norms through
institutionalizing these concepts in our civilization. This concept of heteronormativityis considered a
basic social institution because it has been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This reminded me a lot about Doing Gender because we learned that we view doing gender as an
accomplishment. This is similar to heteronormativity because in society we do gender and learn
gender based off of these heteronormativity ideals and norms . These are examples of how
heterosexuality can be viewed as normative through culture. An example of compulsory
heteronormativity or something that questions this institution structure, is Drag Queens. A drag
queen is a person, typically male, who dresses and acts with exaggerated womanliness and
portrays feminine gender roles. Drag shows have the potential to arouse powerful desires that
people perceive as contrary to their sexual identities people thinking about the boundaries of
heterosexuality. (Taylor and Rupp, p.4, 2006) This could be viewed as compulsory
heteronormativity because it s almost necessary and unavoidable in this situation to question the
heteronormativity of the setting. Another example of this is the media has been better about
showing exceptions to what is considered normal for example in shows like Modern Family and
Orange is the New Black were they have main characters with different sexual orientations, like
gay and lesbian. With these clear and distinct two different genders our society created it would
also make since if we also had two different expectations and roles for each gender. Gender roles are

Managing Casinos
Undoubtedly, casino industry is one of the profitable industries in the United States. Setting up a
casino with a huge investment may be easier. However, management of casinos requires much
groundwork for the casino managers. Traditional way of running the casino is no longer viable in
the current scenario. The days have gone when casino meant only a few slot machines for people s
entertainment. Tough competition in the casino industry made the task of casino managers more
complex.
The first important step in casino management is finding efficient personnel. They are responsible
to manage the daily operations of casino. The manager must be smart, skillful, intelligent and alert.
It has been noticed that one manager run several casinos in an area. The obvious reason is the
difficult in finding efficient professionals.
Space is a major factor in the casinos. Visitors to casino prefer a broad area, which will make
them comfortable to move around. Now a days, most of the prominent casinos have bigger
buildings and wider space. Floor space should be enough for gaming and other actions. There are
some casinos that have more than 60,000 square feet floors. Caesars Atlantic City provides a
124,720 square foot casino floor space, which is one of the largest gaming areas in Atlantic City.
The Harrah s Atlantic City casino is spread over an 112,918 square feet area (Hashimoto, et al, 310).

##o s Relationship In Prospero In The Tempest By William...
Prospero is a powerful, sharp, determined, and a loving father, who likes to be in control. In Act
One Scene 2, his language tells us a lot about him and his relationships with the other characters.
Prospero s retellings of past events to Miranda and Ariel illustrates how Prospero maintained his
power, exploring the old man s meticulous carful methods of controlling those around him through
magic, charisma, and rhetoric.
When we meet Ariel we see Prospero s control over him straight away with Has t thou spirit,
perform d to point the tempest I bade thee? This shows that it is Prospero who makes commands
and expects Ariel to obey him.
But why would Ariel serve Prospero? It turns out that Prospero had rescued Ariel from
imprisonment in a tree by a witch, who used to be the ruler of the island. When Ariel asks for his
freedom, in this scene, Prospero gets furious and uses similes, metaphors and detailed
descriptions to emphasize the horror of Ariels situation before he came to the island. What
torment I did find thee in. Thy groans of ever angry bears. It was a torment. Did make wolves
howl and penetrate the breasts . This reminds Ariel that he is in thrall to Prospero who keeps the
spirit doing his bidding by threatening to return him to the suffering from which he came. If thou

Pros And Cons Of Mandatory Military Service
Mandatory military service requires every citizen to join and serve in the armed forces, but not
every young man or women can handle the intense physical training, furthermore, patriotism will be
compromised by such an enforcement. It takes a certain type of individual to withstand the mental,
physical, and psychological demands that the militaryrequires. Those who are forced to join and
do not have the stamina need face factors like anxiety, depression and even suicide. A study
conducted by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America showed that approximately
40,000 military members who returned from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan suffered from post
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). And that rate is three times higher among those who were
deployed in combat than those who were non deployed. When a recruit joins on a voluntary basis,
there is a great sense of pride and patriotism as they accomplish the strenuous and challenging
training, consequently, this will be compromised as the attitude will change when the enrollment
goes from voluntary to requirement. Part of the reason why the military is so successful is due to
this pride and when that is compromised, the institute will be weakened. The training for the
military is intense and not all 18 year old s can handle the pressure to perform under fire and the
threat of death, which can be dangerous not only for the ailing service member but the entire troop.

Jobs That Stress Never Ends
Jobs That Stress Never Ends
The world population is excessively on the rise making people hard to find a job for a living so
that almost every job in this highly competitive world is increasingly stressful, so can anyone
find a job that has no stress? Perhaps, the answer for this question is always no because stress
actually comes from many causes whether people like it or not. For example, stress comes from
bosses, colleagues, compensation, and jobs pressure. Stress mostly depends on what types of jobs.
There are many types of jobs that are stressful, but people often think about the top three stressful
jobs such as police officers, airline pilots, and firefighters.
One of the most stressful jobs is police officers. Three causes that make police officers stressful
are working long hours and unusual time, strictly conforming to non disclosure policy, and
dealing with many kinds of perpetrators. First, working long hours and unusual time makes them
stressful because they do not have much time to stay together with their family and take care of
their children as well. They start working in the early morning but get off duty late at night.
Working during weekend does not become an unusual task for their job, and sometimes they have
to be present urgently by the order of their chief officer due to a serious case. They unintentionally
lose a lot of good chances to celebrate holidays or birthday parties together with their family. Their
jobs bring in a lot of stress for them.

The Biblical Story Of Adam And Eve
The influence of the biblical story of Adam and Eve is very apparent in Rappaccinis Daughter. This
being said, it is disappointing that little to no criticisms are found on this topic. Nathanial
Hawthorns, Rappaccinis daughter, is an Allusion of Adam and Eve and therefore an allegory.
When approached with a readers responds critique, one is reminded of the biblical story of Adam
and Eve, the creation of man. The story of Adam and Eve happens in Genesis chapter 2 and 3.
Long story short, god made Adam and eve to look after Eden, he told them to never eat from the
tree of knowledge. A serpent, Satan, persuaded eve to eat the fruit of knowledge, and she persuaded
Adam to do the same, when god found out they were banned from Eden.
If you switch some of the characters and setting you are given a story close to Rappaccinis
Daughter. Giovanni would be Adam and Beatrice would be eve, the serpent would be Rappaccini
himself and the bush covered in purple flowers represents the tree of knowledge. In this version
of the creation of man, everything is manipulated. The serpent, Rappaccini plays god. He changes
what god has done into a perversion. Rappaccini, never persuaded Beatrice to smell the flowers, he
exposed it to her, making her immune. Giovanni falls for this eve and is now stuck to this poisons
sin.
Scholars approach this recreated story of the creation of man with the idea of that it follows the tide
of an imaginative scenario of human breeding and tyranny, exploring the

with the most important experience of his life. He hid and received advice from many helpers.
He was told by Cherokees to follow the tree flowers (119) to get to the North. Flowers are known to
be beautiful and colorful objects. As Paul D treks to the North, he is following the flowers to his
freedom.
Red is a very intense color in the book. It represents death, blood, and evil. When Paul D. arrives
at 124 he walked .... straight into a pool of red and undulating light that locked him where he
stood (8). He immediately asked Sethe what kind of evil is in the house. That was the first sign of
warning Paul D. receives from the house of 124. Paul D. did not understand the warning at first.

Video Games Have Come A Long Way
Video games have come a long way since Pac Man hit arcades in 1980. In the last thirty plus
years, we have seen video games revolutionize art and entertainment. At first riding the coattails
of computer advancements, video games now drive technological progress in the search for
innovation and complete player immersion. Video games have started to go beyond the quest for
the best graphics. Games like Pokemon Go are pushing the bar and blurring the line between the
game and real life through augmented reality. Video games now give many people motivation in
life and allow for more human interaction in both the real and virtual world. In many ways, video
games are the human attempt to succeed where evolution has failed us. Evolution has equipped
humans with the ability to survive, but survival means something completely different nowadays.
We no longer need to hunt with our hands, hide away from predators, or scavenge for food. Our
landscape has changed from the wilds to the shopping mall. When the modern human faces the
situation of how do I speak to someone I find attractive? or delivery, dine in, or take out? As silly
as it may sound, these simple, specific examples are the type of problems that have replaced
predators and famine what mechanisms have humans gained from evolution to face these
problems? This is where technology and the future of video games come into play. To face the
modern world, humans will redefine what it means to be entertained, interact with

Noise Sensor Essay
Abstract In this Paper, issues related to noise sensor application of instrumentation amplifier
through substrate coupling in system on chip design are described and demonstrated including the
physical phenomenon responsible for its creation, coupling transmission mechanism and media,
parameter affecting coupling strengths and its impact on mixed signal integrated circuits. Basic
aim is to find out magnitude of interference happening when analog and digital circuit is placed
nearby on a common substrate. It has been design to have a broad bandwidth (1 KHz to 1MHz)
with very high CMRR to cancel out the unwanted noise at its both inputs and deliver single output.
MOSFET capacitors are used for the picking of substrate interference.
Key words CMOS, , noise sensor, Substrate Coupling, Guard Banding.
Introduction
The wireless sensor network is applicable in numerous life saving critical field because of low
cost long battery life sensors. A sensor network comprises of sensors and routers to choose the
administrator host that is called the coordinator [2]. A wireless sensor network is easy to use in the
desired environment [6], and the information can be collected then processed and sent to a desired
location. Recent break trough in wireless communication and micro electro mechanical systems

Daniel Goleman Leadership Summary
Goleman, D. (2000). Leadership that gets results. Harvard Business Review. March April. Pp. 78 90.
Siegel, D. Hartzell, M. (2003). Parenting from the inside out. Chapter 4: How we communicate:
Making connections. New York: Penguin Books pp. 80 100.
In the reading by Daniel Goleman, the six different type of leadership are described, and defined.
The writer states the different types are Coercive, Authoritative, Affiliative, Democratic,
Pacesetting, and Coaching (Goleman, 2000). Coercive leaders demand immediate compliance.
Authoritative leaders mobilize people toward a vision. Affiliative leaders create emotional bonds,
and harmony. Democratic leaders build consensus through participation. Pacesetting leaders expect
excellence and self direction, and coaching leaders develop people for the future, (Goleman, 2000).
The reading state out of the six, Authoritative leadership is the type which has the most positive
effect on workers because in the realm of Emotional Intelligence it shows empathy, and self
confidence (Goleman, 2000). The other positive leadership styles are Affiliative, Democratic, and
Coaching (Goleman, 2000). In all of these types, the common theme is empathy, and working

The Relationship Between War, Territory, And Arms Races On...
As you look back into history you see that war is created for several different reasons. In this
paper I will be reviewing the relationship between war, territory, and arms races on a dyadic level
of analysis. Scholars have come to various conclusions on different aspects of these two theories
and I will discuss and evaluate a few different perspectives or angles of each theory to see how
they help contribute to the creation of warbetween two interstates.
When examining the relationship between territoriality and war one might find several different
approaches to the connection between the two aspects. Territory and war have long been related
between interstate wars for a long period of time. As you take a look at past wars and how territory
has played a major role in the escalation of conflict you will find several different angles to the
situations. One angle that has shown vital data to relationship would be territorial contiguity
between interstates. When territory are contiguous to one another from past history it shows the
interstates are more likely to have disputes with one another. You could also breakdown the terms
of contiguity into proximity, interaction, and territoriality to get an in depth view of a matter.
In Contiguity and Military Escalation in Major Power Rivalries the article discussed the effect that
contiguity has on nations decisions, particularly rivalry nations, of escalating a conflict into war.
The article broke down contiguity in terms based on

stories about a child being positively influenced by a parental figure in a way that will affect
every decision he/she will ever make. Parents have an enormous impact on what their children do
and what ideals said children believe in. Without parental interaction, children may become lost or
come to accept mistaken ideals such as the rightfulness of stealing which Roger, a main character
symbolizing a child, actually agrees with when the reader originally reads the story. While some
children might find their way if left alone, many would become overwhelmed and their young

do not target Neopet s primary audience of girls under the age of 18, it also needs to move up the
technology chain. There might soon be a 3D virtual pet website which might take away market
share from Neopets and Neopets might see its adopter surfing to a 3D virtual pet websites.
Promotion strategy for Neopets :
Neopets has traditionally depended on word of mouth and viral marketing which is a subset of
word of mouth to increase its spread. As per Hindle, Tim (2008, p205) viral marketing involves
choosing a small group of well connected individuals to launch a product or service via the
internet or their mobile phones. The idea is that their approval will spread rapidly via their online
network of connections, create a buzz around the product being marketed and result in millions of
sales. This form of marketing has grown further with the popularity of social networks like
Facebook.
While Neopets is very popular with kids who use the internet extensively, Neopets needs to consider
other mediums to attract kids who are not yet extensive users of the internet. To do that Neopets has

Many birds would flock to the Everglades during the winter to escape harsh winters from up
north. The Everglades skies aren t filled with as many birds anymore due to numerous reasons.
One of the saddest reasons that many animals and reptiles are losing their homes is because of
humans and land development. The beautiful of the Everglades is simply breathing all the
creatures and different plant life is a joyous site to witness. The beauty of the Everglades that
past generations has witness isn t the same that the current generations witness. As the years
progress we continue to do more harm to our beloved Everglades. We continue to push our
animals to relocate and find new homes because we take away their land for our own personal
developments. The population continues to increase and that calls for newer and better
developments, more and more of the Everglades is being taking away from plants and animals.
This land that is being taken away from the plant and animal species is being turned into
communities, shopping plazas, and other new buildings. The Everglades once rumored to be
22,000 square feet has over time become no more than 11,000 square feet. This major drop over
years and years is a result of land development. The continuation of taking land away from our
animal and plant life in the Everglades can result in horrible consequences. Animals will eventually
be forced to find homes somewhere else and we will lose valued plant

Lasting Impacts of Funk and Disco
The Lasting Impacts of Funk and Disco
The transition from the 1960 s to the 1970 s was a rough one. A decade characterized by the
supposed defeat of poverty and racism as well as the conquest of space, was subsequently and
surprisingly followed by a decade of chaos and disorder in the world. The country was running out
of promise, the troops were running out of Vietnam, and the President was running out of office.
Luckily however, the emergence of great music simply could not be affected by the unfortunate
economic and social issues going on in the world at the time. The surfacing of both funk and disco
characterized the time period starting from the late 1960 s into the 1970 s, and although each music
movement had its own style, its own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film actually became extremely popular not only in the United States, but all over the globe.
Its soundtrack, written by the Bee Gees, reached number one on the charts in the United States,
Europe, and Asia. Travolta became an idol to millions of people, and a well know sex symbol
for people in the Western world for many, many years. Another one of the major differences
between disco and funk is the fact that disco had a much more impactful crossover appeal on
other styles of music. Disco s popularity led to many artists to record disco like songs. Obviously,
their songs weren t pure disco, but pop or rock songs with disco influences. Finally during the
late 1970 s, the world saw the decline of disco. The movement that was characterized by shiny,
glittery surfaces; high heels and luscious lipstick; jam packed jeans and cut pecs, (Shapiro 3) was
finally coming to an end. It started as a strong anti disco sentiment developed among rock fans and
musicians, particularly in the United States. The heightened hostility took the form of small riots in
various places around the country, graffiti, and t shirts voicing the protestors hatred toward it.
Then, the day that disco died came on July 12, 1979 during Disco Demolition Night. An anti disco
demonstration in Chicago resulted in horrid consequences and havoc in Comiskey Park, as well as
other parts of Chicago.

Investigating The Combined Heat Transfer
I.Abstract:
The main objectives of this experiment are to determine the combined heat transfer (Qr + Qc) from
a horizontal cylinder in natural convection over a wide range of power inputs and surface
temperature. Also to compare between convection and radiation heat transfer and between Hc and
Hr. Moreover, to determine the effect of forced convectionand to show the relation between air
velocity and surface temperature for forced convection. And demonstrate that the local heat transfer
coefficient varies around the circumference of a horizontal cylinder when subjected to forced
convection.
In Exp # 1, the voltage was continuously changing until the heater temperature (T10) reach the
steady state condition and at this time, T10 was recorded to get Qr and Qc. In Exp # 2, the
voltage was kept constant while the air velocity was changing continuously and T10 was
recorded at the state condition to determine Qf and Qr. In Exp # 3, the angular position and air
velocity were changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition. The error
percentage in Experiment #1 between Qc experimental and Qc theoretical ranges is between
0.95% and 10.7% while the error in Qr experimental and Qr theoretical ranges from 7.9% to
21.5%. Finally, the error percentage in Experiment #2 between Qtot theoretical and Qtot
experimental ranges from 5.6% to 6.22%, while the error in Qt theoretical and Qin ranges from
50.5% to 80.5%.

Refugee Crisis Essay
Refugee crisis is a global societal problem for two major reasons; it is causing great suffering to
societies across the globe. Among the sufferings, include unmet goals in life, death of civilians and
separation of families. The second reason is that it is slowing down global integration and progress.
The failure to resettle refugeescondemns them to poverty and cuts them off from normal lives being
led by other people. The situation created is one where not every human on earth gets to enjoy

However, the UN currently has plans to annually resettle 10% of the refugees. This plan has been
affected by underfunding since the rich nations are distancing themselves from the responsibilities.
The UN is greatly underfunded as it stands. The challenges notwithstanding, an immediate solution
that qualifies as a starting point is the resettlement of the vulnerable individuals among the refugees
(Tufekci, 2015).
The vulnerable individuals are people with special needs ranging from severe psychological trauma
to physical challenges. Torture victims need resettlement as soon as possible and put under therapy
before their mental state deteriorates. This group of the vulnerable also include individuals with
special medical conditions who cannot survive the conditions in refugee camps any longer.
Statistics indicate that presently, over 1.2 million refugees need emergency resettlement. This will
also ease the crowding at the refugee camps and set the solution to the refugee crisis in motion
(Tufekci, 2015).
Adoption of a More Humanitarian Approach
As it stands, countries are handling the refugee issue from an economic point of view. Other
countries are more focused on national superiority that they would not help a dying person. Reports
indicated that thousands of people who were fleeing persecution in Myanmar in May 2015 suffered
for weeks due to reluctance by Thailand,

  • 2. What Is The Social Responsibility Of Architect Introduction In the process of the good spatial generation, architects are representatives of institutional knowledge and the captain of the ship . They have power and control over designing and production of space either directly by taking part in this process via their personal practices or indirectly affecting it through their professional organizations they work for. This is where the role of professional ethics in architecture comes to play and they should be limiting and leading this power through describing architect s social responsibilities and also should be preventing unethical attitudes in all kinds of spatial practices by using this power and knowledge. The architect, who works for the client, portrays and tries to work around the views of that client. Architecture should ideally serve the people, but because of the clients control, this is hard. Therefore architects have to choose between whether to serve the client or the people. ( What is the Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010) Most believe that because the client is the one paying them, their building will be built their way and the architect is there to serve them. This is how the building, which possibly had enormous potential becomes THEIR building meant to serve no one, but them. Eventually these projects end up as failures. How can a project not designed keeping the users in mind serve the users? Others, like the TAR (The Architects Resistance, formed by students from Columbia, MIT, and Yale in 1968) believe the architect should be building for the people even though this is usually different than the client. ( What is the Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010) Easy to preach and hard to practice. Who said life is fair? So what all does an architect need to know (in no specific order)? • 3. Frogs And Toad Book Report This nonfiction selection is about frogs and toads, it informs the reader about the essential facts about frogs and toads as well as introducing additional information you probably don t know. Speaking about this, there were specific sections I enjoyed reading about more than others. For instance, I cherished reading about how adult frogs cared for their offspring, it demonstrated the grand amount of devotion certain animals provide for their young. Indeed, this impacted me because it portrayed now animals have emotions too, and don t just care about themselves. For example, the African bullfrog exhibits valiant actions because it attempts to ward off danger to any animal that poses a threat to its eggs and tadpoles. It goes to such extent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Considering this, I would definitely continue reading other books on this topic because they captivate me and I don t find them dull whatsoever. Further, this book contained multitudinous information about frogs and toads, but the majority of it was simple facts and I want to read another book that is complex and has facts that most people wouldn t know. However, this book was adequate and has encouraged me to read other books about frogs. Equally, I find frogs engaging because their features are unique compared to other organisms. To illustrate, frogs have skin that they can breathe through and they don t have rib cages, making them one of the most interesting animals in the animal kingdom. Specifically, I m longing to read a book about glass frogs because their skin is see through and even scientists don t know why that is. In conclusion, there is no doubt that I would read another book about frogs because there s a grand quantity that I don t know about them and I m yearning to find out. They re such engrossing creatures that have qualities that I want to read about as well as animals are my passion and all this would guide me towards my goal of becoming a ... (Dollard 2012) Also, the news article on the human cost of workplace bullying claimed that such conditions were costing Australian economy between 6 to 36billion dollars a year. The major reasons pinpointed were the reduced productivity, increase in number of absenteeism and turnover. In addition to its impact on economy, workplace bullying has a devastating effect on the individual employees. Bullying can bring significant damage to the victim s wellbeing, which in extreme cases leads to suicide. Regarding a research conducted by Toni Mellington, an Australian health psychologist, there is a direct negative relationship between bullying and health. (Gregor 2015) Employees who claimed to have been bullied reported poorer health, with an increase in severity of bullying increasing the chance of poorer health. The finding also suggested that the experience of merely witnessing bullying can also have a negative impact on one s health, backing up the fact that bullying affects not only the individual but the entire firm. The eye catching studies above urge a prompt reaction towards resolving workplace bullying. Currently everyone at workplace is potentially at the risk of being bullied. In Act One Scene 2, his language tells us a lot about him and his relationships with the other characters. Prospero s retellings of past events to Miranda and Ariel illustrates how Prospero maintained his power, exploring the old man s meticulous carful methods of controlling those around him through magic, charisma, and rhetoric. When we meet Ariel we see Prospero s control over him straight away with Has t thou spirit, perform d to point the tempest I bade thee? This shows that it is Prospero who makes commands and expects Ariel to obey him. But why would Ariel serve Prospero? It turns out that Prospero had rescued Ariel from imprisonment in a tree by a witch, who used to be the ruler of the island. When Ariel asks for his freedom, in this scene, Prospero gets furious and uses similes, metaphors and detailed descriptions to emphasize the horror of Ariels situation before he came to the island. What torment I did find thee in. Thy groans of ever angry bears. It was a torment. Did make wolves howl and penetrate the breasts . This reminds Ariel that he is in thrall to Prospero who keeps the spirit doing his bidding by threatening to return him to the suffering from which he came. Pros And Cons Of Mandatory Military Service Mandatory military service requires every citizen to join and serve in the armed forces, but not every young man or women can handle the intense physical training, furthermore, patriotism will be compromised by such an enforcement. It takes a certain type of individual to withstand the mental, physical, and psychological demands that the militaryrequires. Those who are forced to join and do not have the stamina need face factors like anxiety, depression and even suicide. A study conducted by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America showed that approximately 40,000 military members who returned from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan suffered from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). And that rate is three times higher among those who were deployed in combat than those who were non deployed. When a recruit joins on a voluntary basis, there is a great sense of pride and patriotism as they accomplish the strenuous and challenging training, consequently, this will be compromised as the attitude will change when the enrollment goes from voluntary to requirement. Part of the reason why the military is so successful is due to this pride and when that is compromised, the institute will be weakened. One of the most stressful jobs is police officers. Three causes that make police officers stressful are working long hours and unusual time, strictly conforming to non disclosure policy, and dealing with many kinds of perpetrators. First, working long hours and unusual time makes them stressful because they do not have much time to stay together with their family and take care of their children as well. They start working in the early morning but get off duty late at night. Working during weekend does not become an unusual task for their job, and sometimes they have to be present urgently by the order of their chief officer due to a serious case. Luckily however, the emergence of great music simply could not be affected by the unfortunate economic and social issues going on in the world at the time. The surfacing of both funk and disco characterized the time period starting from the late 1960 s into the 1970 s, and although each music movement had its own style, its own ... Its soundtrack, written by the Bee Gees, reached number one on the charts in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Travolta became an idol to millions of people, and a well know sex symbol for people in the Western world for many, many years. Another one of the major differences between disco and funk is the fact that disco had a much more impactful crossover appeal on other styles of music. Disco s popularity led to many artists to record disco like songs. Obviously, their songs weren t pure disco, but pop or rock songs with disco influences. Finally during the late 1970 s, the world saw the decline of disco. The movement that was characterized by shiny, glittery surfaces; high heels and luscious lipstick; jam packed jeans and cut pecs, (Shapiro 3) was finally coming to an end. It started as a strong anti disco sentiment developed among rock fans and musicians, particularly in the United States. The heightened hostility took the form of small riots in various places around the country, graffiti, and t shirts voicing the protestors hatred toward it. Then, the day that disco died came on July 12, 1979 during Disco Demolition Night. An anti disco demonstration in Chicago resulted in horrid consequences and havoc in Comiskey Park, as well as other parts of Chicago. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Investigating The Combined Heat Transfer I.Abstract: The main objectives of this experiment are to determine the combined heat transfer (Qr + Qc) from a horizontal cylinder in natural convection over a wide range of power inputs and surface temperature. Also to compare between convection and radiation heat transfer and between Hc and Hr. Moreover, to determine the effect of forced convectionand to show the relation between air velocity and surface temperature for forced convection. And demonstrate that the local heat transfer coefficient varies around the circumference of a horizontal cylinder when subjected to forced convection. In Exp # 1, the voltage was continuously changing until the heater temperature (T10) reach the steady state condition and at this time, T10 was recorded to get Qr and Qc. In Exp # 2, the voltage was kept constant while the air velocity was changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition to determine Qf and Qr. In Exp # 3, the angular position and air velocity were changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition. The error percentage in Experiment #1 between Qc experimental and Qc theoretical ranges is between 0.95% and 10.7% while the error in Qr experimental and Qr theoretical ranges from 7.9% to 21.5%. Finally, the error percentage in Experiment #2 between Qtot theoretical and Qtot experimental ranges from 5.6% to 6.22%, while the error in Qt theoretical and Qin ranges from 50.5% to 80.5%. II.Introduction: Heat transfer is the process whereby ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 57. Refugee Crisis Essay Refugee crisis is a global societal problem for two major reasons; it is causing great suffering to societies across the globe. Among the sufferings, include unmet goals in life, death of civilians and separation of families. The second reason is that it is slowing down global integration and progress. The failure to resettle refugeescondemns them to poverty and cuts them off from normal lives being led by other people. The situation created is one where not every human on earth gets to enjoy equal human rightsjust because some are refugees. Solutions to the Refugee Crisis To generate solutions for the refugee crisis, the existence of refugees cannot be wished away. If it could, the first pursuit would be stability in countries that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the UN currently has plans to annually resettle 10% of the refugees. This plan has been affected by underfunding since the rich nations are distancing themselves from the responsibilities. The UN is greatly underfunded as it stands. The challenges notwithstanding, an immediate solution that qualifies as a starting point is the resettlement of the vulnerable individuals among the refugees (Tufekci, 2015). The vulnerable individuals are people with special needs ranging from severe psychological trauma to physical challenges. Torture victims need resettlement as soon as possible and put under therapy before their mental state deteriorates. This group of the vulnerable also include individuals with special medical conditions who cannot survive the conditions in refugee camps any longer. Statistics indicate that presently, over 1.2 million refugees need emergency resettlement. This will also ease the crowding at the refugee camps and set the solution to the refugee crisis in motion (Tufekci, 2015). Adoption of a More Humanitarian Approach As it stands, countries are handling the refugee issue from an economic point of view. Other countries are more focused on national superiority that they would not help a dying person. Reports indicated that thousands of people who were fleeing persecution in Myanmar in May 2015 suffered for weeks due to reluctance by Thailand, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
