Essay On Assisted Suicide
Writing an essay on the topic of assisted suicide can be a challenging endeavor, as it involves
delving into complex ethical, moral, and legal considerations. The subject is highly sensitive,
touching on issues such as individual autonomy, the sanctity of life, and the role of medical
professionals in end-of-life decisions. Crafting a thoughtful and well-reasoned essay requires a
comprehensive understanding of the various perspectives surrounding assisted suicide, including
those rooted in religious beliefs, philosophical principles, and legal frameworks.
Navigating the emotional terrain of assisted suicide poses an additional challenge. This topic is
often fraught with intense emotions, as it involves grappling with the suffering of individuals
facing terminal illnesses and the desire for control over one's own destiny. Balancing empathy
and objectivity is crucial, as the writer must address the emotional aspects without losing sight of
the broader ethical and societal implications.
Furthermore, the essay should be well-researched, drawing on a diverse range of sources to
provide a comprehensive overview of the topic. This includes examining the historical context,
global perspectives, and evolving legal landscapes surrounding assisted suicide. Addressing
counterarguments and anticipating potential critiques adds another layer of complexity,
demanding a nuanced and persuasive approach.
Ultimately, writing an essay on assisted suicide requires a delicate balance of empathy, critical
thinking, and meticulous research. It demands a careful consideration of various viewpoints
while maintaining a clear and coherent argument throughout. Given the controversial nature of
the topic, the writer must tread carefully to avoid oversimplification or undue bias. Crafting an
essay that does justice to the complexity of assisted suicide requires time, effort, and a
commitment to ethical writing.

Patriot Missile Crisis
Intro Ballistic missile defense became a necessity after World War II when
Germany developed and launched several missiles at targets around Europe.
During the Cold War, the United States and Russia began developing technologies
to build and use long range missiles at a moment s notice. Before the Gulf War and
Desert Storm there were no systems to defend against theater ballistic missiles or
TBM s. The Patriot missile system had been developed in the 1970 s to counter
threats from enemy aircrafts. Shortly before the Gulf War, testing and production
of the first PAC1 missiles had begun to be used against Short range missiles. The
use of the Patriot system had a huge impact to the success of the Gulf War and
Desert Storm by defending US and coalition assets in Saudi Arabia and Israel from
Scud Missile attacks by Iraqi Forces. Before World War II a German engineer,
Wernher von Braun, had begun working on rocket designs that eventually led to the
development and launch of over 3000... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The impact only caused relatively small amounts of injuries and deaths but Israel
was inclined to retaliate. On 18 January 1991, the first interception of tactical
ballistic missiles in combat occurred. Alpha Battery, 2 7 ADA successfully
intercepted Iraqi Scuds. The interceptions strengthened the trust in the Patriot system.
On 21 and 22 January, Patriot crews engaged more tactical ballistic missiles. As
Patriot successfully engaged more tactical ballistic missiles, there were fewer Scud
launches. Air Defense became a key component in collation planning. Air Defense
units were attached to the majority of ground units on the front lines moving into
Iraq. Patriot proved their mobility while attached to the 3rd Armored Cavalry and
the XVIII Airborne during the Hail Mary sweep into Iraq. Patriot moved and
provided air defense during one of Desert Storm s most intense
Bob Marley Essay
Bob Marley
Of the many genres of music, reggae is one that displays a positive message to its
listeners. A prominent artist who clearly expressed this was Robert Nesta Marley,
more commonly known as Bob Marley. Marley connected with his audience on a
variety of levels. While he worked to unite the people of his country, Jamaica, he
proclaimed his message across the world. Bob Marley persuades his audience to
accept the message of ethnic unity through his message presentation, social
interactions, lifestyle and musical lyrics.
Bob Marley was born in Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica. As a youngster he moved to

In Jamaica, Marley could voice the feelings and opinions of his fellow citizens,
who were delusional with the failures of independence and the breakdown of local
politics. The role of music in Jamaica contributed to Marley?s music. It helped play
an important role in giving voice and communicating with an increasingly
important political class in the evolving country. Undoubtedly, he was favored by
both sides of the politic battle in Jamaica and with many other nations around the
world. Marley avoided direct involvement in politics, because the Rastafarian
people believe that activities like that were essentially invalid manifestations of the
work of higher government authorities against which they believed. One of the
original reasons behind Bob Marley?s emergence as a leader within post
independent Jamaica was simple: the complete failure of the country?s political
leaders to represent the needs of the black lower classes in the years before and
after their independence. By staying away from the malevolent competitive battles
of the actual and possible political leaders, he could attract a group of followers that
others could not amass. ?As former Jamaican prime minister Michael Manley has
noted, ?Marley took what was a subculture in Jamaica and elevated it to a dominant
culture?[He] took a folk art and he elevated it into a universal language of
communication.? Perhaps the expansion of black culture was even more important
than political
Disadvantages Of Traffic Engineering
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (2013), the role of traffic
engineering comes in play; it is the phase of engineering that deals with the planning,
having a good relationships with other modes of transportation, and traffic operations
of roads, streets and highways for the achievement of safe, efficient and convenient
movement of people and goods. Aside from interpreting relationships among vehicles,
trafficengineering applies technology and its principles to plan and operate facilities
for any mode of transportation (Roses, R., 2004.). Furthermore, the objective of
traffic engineering is to explore the factors contributing to traffic congestion, to draw
lessons from the experience that were gained to date so they may... Show more

The traffic flow along the Katipunan Avenue, in their opinion, seemed to worsen as
the volume of vehicles passing along seems to get higher. They also complained
about the time limit of the stoplight. In addition, many people had pointed out the
presence of trucks during rush hour which makes the situation more unbearable.
Another disadvantage of traffic engineering is that it may cause harm and discomfort
to people as well as to the economy especially if traffic schemes that are implemented
are not suitable to the different vehicles roaming the streets. Such traffic scheme may
result to vehicle collisions that would increase delay especially during peak hours.
Also, disobedience of road rules and regulations may be violated because of the
improper implementation of the scheme. These disadvantages can cause extreme
deterioration in the overall safety of motorists and commuters.
It can be concluded that imposing the new Katipunan Avenue traffic scheme presents
a positive and negative implication. First, although it was designed to provide
convenience and promote safety among commuters and motorists, many people still
think that there is no use at all in implementing such new traffic scheme development
action because the present condition along the Katipunan Avenue remains the same.
Accordingly, some say that there is still inadequacies present in the new traffic
scheme imposed by the MMDA and they should address as soon as
Impact Of Trade Compliance On The World Of Economics
1. Introduction In the world of Economics, the important word come to mind of
people is Trade. Trading has been done from the time when human begin start to
use tools that is circa 150,000 years ago(Watson 2005). Since then we have come a
large leap from trading small stone tools to sophisticated machineries and advance
software today. This report revolves about the specific topic of Trade Compliance
which is relatively new to the pitch compared to the age of trade. The term Trade
Compliance means that the trade done in with compliance to law of the countries
in which the parties perform the trade. When did all the regulation start on the
trade it dates to the time when the humans started to sail and import the goods of
value to their own nation and government start to put taxes on the goods which are
of high value this kind of regulation or the compliance is called the tariffing of
trade. This further developed when the world is further connected and all the
nation wants to do eat their share of pie in the world economics and thus bought
the introduction of the Harmonized Tariff System back in 1988(Aoki Sibylle Bauer
Quentin Michel Filippo Sevini Ian Stewart Webmaster FrГ©dГ©ric Wilhelmy and

European Union follow a complex Trade compliance program and is regarded as

Essay about Huck Finn
Racism and Slavery in Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn Throughout Mark Twain s
Huckleberry Finn, racism and slavery are two major thematic concepts pulsing
through the novel. Through incidents, comments made by the characters, and
statements by the narrator, Twain enables the readers to observe the attitudes of the
people concerning discrimination and involuntary servitude before the Emancipation
Proclamation. Not only does his use of language and comments help the reader better
comprehend the social attitudes of the time period, it also enlightens the audience of
Twain s attitude towards slavery and racism. Twain is known for voicing his opinions
and observations through characters, and in this novel it is no different. The audience

Twain uses Pap s stupidity to show how racism was for the uneducated. Huck does
not describe Jim as harshly as Pap suggesting, through traits and characteristics, he
is a better person that Pap. He does not say anything negative about his physical
appearance. He does call him a nigger, however that was socially acceptable at that
time. In fact, Twain makes Jim a better, more caring father figure to Huck. Jim
actually cares for Huck s well being when he says, Goodness gracious, is dat you,
Huck? ... It s too good for true, honey, it s too good for true. Lemme look at you
chile, lemme feel o you. No, you ain dead! you s back agin, live en soun , jis de
same ole Huck de same ole Huck, thanks to goodness! (63). Twain makes Jim the
good guy and Pap the bad guy to show how African Americans are not all bad and
whites are not all good. He expresses through these two characters that blacks can
actually be better people than whites, going against most beliefs back then. Next,
when Jim escapes from Miss Watson and finds Huck, Huck is happy he has
someone to pass time with. Forgetting about the moral standards of society he says,
I was ever so glad to see Jim. I warn t lonesome now...Then I says, It s good daylight.

relationship between Huck and Jim to show true caring. Also, according to the

The Spread Of Child Labor During The Industrial
Revolution
The ringing of small hammers striking the flat hard rocks filled the air. Children
that only stood a couple feet carried rocks to their families where they would begin
to peck at them with their hammers. The older kids walked with a hunch in their
backs from bending over all day, breaking down the stone. Being born into poverty,
children from the small town in Nicaragua were forced to work in the rock quarry to
be able to buy a small portion of food every night. Across the world children are
being forced to work in unthinkable conditions. Many are born into areas ravished by
poverty or civil war. Child laborexists in today s society. Though many in the United

An estimated sixty percent of child labor occurs in agriculture, fishing, hunting and
forestry. From harvesting bananas in Ecuador, cotton in Egypt, or tobacco in
Brazil, children in agriculture can face long hours in extreme temperatures as well
as face health risks from pesticides. Even in the United States children can be found
working fifty to sixty hours a week on tobacco farms garbed only in trash bags to
protect them from the nicotine and pesticide residues seeping into their skins.
Many of these children describe getting searing headaches, sudden vomiting, and
dizziness that last throughout the night. Because a child body is still developing
it makes them even more vulnerable to pesticides and the effects of nicotine
poising. Not only are the effects of the chemicals very harmful, but also the job
itself can be dangerous. Many of the equipment used on the farms are made for full
sized adults, not a twelve year old child. Because of this there have been numerous
fatalities where a child would lean over to get something and fall of the tractor and
be crushed by the machine. This is something can be prevented by not allowing a

John Stuart Mill Weaknesses
Introduction
Although John Stuart Mill s form of utilitarianism is not difficult, procedurally, to
employ, complex thought experiments are not able to fully present the results of
the theory in an individual s life. Because of this inability, I set aside a block of
two days where I could apply the theory to my decision making, which allowed me
to see the pragmatic side of the theory, so I can return to a place of analysis with a
better understanding of the problems utilitarianism faces. However, within a span of
two days, I cannot claim to have received an expansive experience with Mill
utilitarianism, therefore my discussion can proceed with what I did learn, but should
not be considered a complete, comprehensive picture. After a brief review ... Show

By ignoring the more complex theoretics of the theory, the theory simply attempts
to achieve the best results possible. In normal life, you have no need to question if
we are justified in punishing serial killers, instead, we take and give pizza slices to
who we determine needs it. Even if, by some chance, we choose incorrectly, the
minor consequences are barely significant, and occasionally they go unnoticed.
When I chose to arrive late for the SAT, at this point in time, the two individuals it

The Field Of Mental Health
Scientist Practitioner Gap in the Field of Mental Health
Implementing evidence based practices (EBPs) for the treatment of psychological
disorders represents a major challenge within the field of mental health. Literally
hundreds of evidence based treatments (EBTs) and thousands of evidence based
assessment (EBA) tools are available; however such practices are generally not
implemented in routine clinical practice (Chorpita et al. 2014 presentation; Weston,
Novotny, Thompson Brenner, 2004a; 2004b; Strupp Anderson, 1997). For example,
clinicians implement self report measures in 18% of sessions and structured clinical
interviews in 1% (Sattler et al). Furthermore, clinicians implement key components of
EBTs for common disorders in just 22% of sessions (Whiteside et al).
Infrequent implementation of EBPs is a well documented symptom of the gap
between science and practice within the field of clinical psychology. The field is
moving away from a clinician based model in which practitioners preference and
theoretical orientation decides treatment, and in its place an industrialized model is
emerging (Dulcan, 2005). Within this model, greater emphasis is placed on
standardization of training and treatment methods as well as treatment fidelity and
quality assurance. The changing landscape is due primarily to a trend in which
patients are no longer paying for mental health services out of pocket, but rather, third
party stakeholders (e.g., insurance companies) are

Disabled people are those whose impairments, physical or mental, restrict them,
affecting their daily lives, ability to cope and employment prospects. (Madden, D,
1999).
According to Central Statistics Office, 2011, the total person s with a disability is

As the functioning and disability of an individual occurs in a context, ICF also
includes a list of environmental factors. It also measures health and disability at both
individual and population levels (WHO, 2016).
The Biopsychosocial Model
Developed at Rochester by Drs. George Engel and John Romano. This approach
systematically examines biological, psychological and social factors and their
interactions in understanding health, illness and healthcare delivery (University of
Rochester Medical Centre, 2016).
It examines how and why disorders occur.
The WHO organisation state that health is a state of complete physical, mental and
social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity .(WHO, 2016)
Through this general acceptance this model allows doctors of the future to have a
holistic and humanistic approach towards their patients.

The Radioactive Boy Scout Introduction Growing up in suburban Detroit, David
Hahn was fascinated by science. While working on his Atomic Energy badge for the
Boy Scouts, David s obsessive attention turned to nuclear energy. Not worried about
being safe and taking the pre cautions, he plunged into a new project: building a
nuclear breeder reactor in his backyard garden shed. In the Radioactive Boy Scout,
veteran journalist Ken Silverstein recreates in brilliant detail the months of David s
improbable nuclear quest. Acting as a physics professor, David solicited information
on reactor design from the United States government and from industry experts.

Explain How Individuals Are Taught To Become Good

1.What is your initial reaction to the question, Are leaders born or can they be taught?
I personally thought and think that anyone can be a leader. I feel this way because
there are different kinds of leaders. I also think leaders can be taught by learning
from examples set forth from other great leaders.
2.Now, use the Internet and find at least three articles or sites that discuss leadership.
Based on your work, how is leadership defined? What are some of the best practices
of leaders?
Based on the information that I found leadership means a person who is able to
motivate, direct others to achieve goals and inspire along the way. One of the
practices that stood out to me was helping people to achieve what they think is the
impossible. Another practice I found to be amazing is being a leader is lifting others

6. Finally, are individuals mostly born or are they taught to become successful
leaders? Explain. I think that most leaders are taught to lead. While a person may
have more of an outgoing personality trait than others it does not mean they cannot
be great leaders. As long as a individual is open to new learning experiences they are
able to lead. I do not think that people are just born to lead, a leader needs real world
education and experience. As long as, people are willing to learn every step of the
way and keep their work environment positive. By providing coaching and training

Walt Whitman s The Things They Carried
Mankind has always been fascinated with literature throughout history, writing
stories of history and of fantasy. Authors don t start out famous and are sometimes
forced to witness mankind s most abhorred creation, war. Some authors are just
journalists who are sent to cover the carnage and some are not yet authors, but will
become authors later in history. It is well known many people change after
witnessing or experiencing war, but if could this influence or change their writing
style? Walt Whitman started journalism in 1841. He founded a weekly newspaper
called the Long Islander. In 1865, Whitman published his second edition of Leaves
of Grass (poets.org). After the start of the Civil War had started, Whitman went to
Washington because he read his brother s name (George Whitman) on a casualty
list from the battle of Fredericksburg. He arrived in time to find his brother with a

OLAP
Online analytical processing (OLAP) is generally used to provide analysis of
complex data. Often it is applied with a data warehouse. A data warehouse is similar
to a regular database but they have differences. According to Inmon a data
warehouse is a subject oriented, integrated, non volatile, time variant collection of
data in support of management s decisions [3]. Data warehouses provide more
detailed information than regular databases, one reason they are recommended for
analytics. Another way of describing it is, Data warehousing is a collection of
decision support technologies, aimed at enabling the knowledge worker (executive,
manager, analyst) to generate wiser and faster decisions. [4] When using OLAP
tools with data warehousing it can give the decision maker a clear advantage, which
could give insight into why it is so highly valued. These mechanisms can help

Religious Influences
Religious Influences
In the United States people are allowed to think and live freely, there are laws so
that the population has the opportunity to believe, follow, or praise whomever they
please. But do these laws really abide by everyone s beliefs? It is obvious that the
United States is changing its view points from its traditional way of thinking and
progressing to a more tolerant stance which is more excepting of everyone; for
example, gay marriage was legalized during June 2015. But for issues like abortion,
it is still a controversial topic due to opinion and religious stance. Religion can be a
great thing for an individual, but should not be able to affect the human rights of
anybody else. Across the world people tend to inherit their religious preferences from
there family. For example, in the United States about 70.6% of the population says
they are a type of Christian (Wormald). Even though the United States allows its
people to practice any religion they choose, many laws have been passed due to the
favorability of the Christian religion. But lately the ... Show more content on

Having beliefs can give an individual comfort during hard times. Churches or
mosque can provide people with a safe place to go and support groups that can
help people in need. Donations such as; food, clothes, money, shelter, blankets, and
other necessities can help people who are having a rough time making ends meet.
Things like this can also have a positive effect on the community. It can help people
come together closer as a family and help with meeting new friends with similar
interest. Growing up with a strong religious influence can also have some positive
effects on a person s personality. For example, Christians believe that if you re a good
person and do helpful things that it will allow you to go to heaven. In a way it kind
of gives an incentive to be a good person and to do right by
Motif And Motifs In Macbeth
Sight of Darkness: Analyzing Murder Motifs in Macbeth
Throughout Shakespeare s Macbeth, the motif sight represents a terrible event or
murder; coinciding with the event, while also highlighting Macbeth s lack of
accountability for the crimes. Through the use of the motif sight, it is conveyed that
Macbeth decides he must turn a blind eye to the murder of Duncan. While trying to
secure the throne he is prophesied to have, Macbeth frequently questions whether he
should interfere with fate s process. After speaking with Duncan, Macbeth steps
aside and states, The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be /which the eye fears, when
it is done, to see (1.4.59 60). Macbeth s thoughts to kill Duncan are so evil when he
does it that Macbeth doesn t want to look. In addition, the eye is a directly related
to the brain, therefore, by winking, Macbeth tries to avoid acknowledging the evil
he may commit. To conclude, Macbeth cannot stomach the thought of killing
Duncan so he must turn a blind eye to it; he will try to literally not see it, and not
acknowledge it cognitively. Another example of Macbeth turning a blind eye is
after the killing of Duncan. Macbeth discusses with Lady Macbeth the remorse and
guilt he feels. He states, I am afraid to think what I have done. / Look at again I
dare not (2.2.66 67). Even after killing Duncan in attempt to claim the throne,
Macbeth refuses to look at Duncan and his dead body. This again highlights
Macbeth s refusal to condone his deeds as he cannot bare to look at what he has
done. The final sight motif used by Macbeth precedes the murder of Banquo. Even
after Duncan is dead, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot stand idle and wait for
the crown to be delivered to them; they decree to remove any threats posed to their
succession. For this reason, they hire three murderers to kill Banquo. While talking
to Lady Macbeth about their plans, Macbeth responds, Come, seeling night, / scarf

Narrative Essay About Ocean City Life
During the summer of 2016 my family went to Ocean City, New Jersey for
vacation with my mom s boyfriend s family. We went with his son and his wife
and kids and his daughter and her kids. We have known them for about 7 years, so
we consider them as family now. Since the vacation my sister has been the children
s favorite, but on this vacation the she is two years old being the youngest of the
children. Amber and I bonded during the week we spent together. During the week at
Ocean City we did many things as a family, like to go on the beach, go on the
boardwalk at night, go out to eat together and many more things. During Ocean City
we did many things as a family, like enjoying a day at beach with them. When we

The boardwalk had many things there like rides for the kids to go on, arcades,
shops, snack shops and more. When walking on the boardwalk we had two
strollers to push the kids around in. Both strollers could hold 2 kids each morning
we only needed two. As a result, I would push one of the strollers while my sister
pushed the other and would interact with the kids. When we went into stores we
would pick them up and carry them around while we looked and would show them
all the different souvenirs that was on sale such as shirts, beach toys they could
use, little nicknacks like coffee mugs and snow globes and more. We would also
go into the arcades and look around, but usually didn t play anything because they
were too small. In addition to walking around and looking in arcades we would also
get a snack, usually french fries or ice cream and go to the rides, Something we had
to make sure of though was there was not peanut ingredients in the food because her
mother is allergic to peanuts and told me they didn t know if she was and still had
to get her tested for the allergy. We mostly stayed by the little kids rides, but we did
go into the more advanced rides such as the bumper cars and a plane ride that spun

Effects Of Residential Schools In Canada
Residential schools were a place where thousands of Indigenous children would go to
learn but instead get abused very badly. Residential schools existed about a hundred
years ago. These tragic schools were established because European people wanted the
Indigenous people of Canada to be assimilated into Euro Canadian. The European
people thought that their civilization was the greatest human achievement. A lot of
residential schools opened within Canada s provinces. Life at residential schools was
very cruel because the students got limited time to learn and more time to do
exhausting chores. The children also got brutally abused for various things including
if they offend the nuns and priests working in the schools. By the time the children
had finished attending the residential schools they had almost forgotten everything
about their cultureand traditions. Residential schools treated children very poorly
which caused some long lasting effects that still impact Indigenous people today.
There were a lot of residential schools in Canada and there were a variety of reasons
why and how these schools had opened. European settlers thought that the first
habitants of Canada (the Indigenous people) were ignorant, and like children they
needed guidance. The first prime minister of Canada Sir John A. McDonald
commissioned a journalist and politician Nicholas Flood Davin to study industrial
schools, for the indigenous children, in the United States. Nicholas Flood Davin found
Manipulation In The Media In 1984, By George Orwell
Manipulation in the Media The American debt has been substantially increasing
everyday. The immense debt has caused the nations stability and integrity to
dramatically decline, which caused for the once great nation, to later filled with
deception, that has been implemented by the extensive amount of problems that must
be hidden from the citizens of the nation. The novel 1984, by George Orwell,
similarly describes how the problems of the dystopian governmentare masked by the
duplicitous information that has brainwashed the nation s citizens. America is not
the greatest country in the world because the debt level has reached the trillions,
with Americans being blindsided with a lack of information every day. News media
outlets refuse to share the crippling numbers for fear of America rebelling and
causing chaos within the nation. The American debt has been present for centuries.
The once minimal debt was first caused by war debts in the 1800s. Since then, the
American debt has been increasing daily. Currently, the debt has risen to a whopping
twenty trillion dollars and is rising every second. The national suffrage has caused
the government to try to solve the epidemic by reducing the taxes on individuals. The
controversial proposition can either benefit or harm the nation because the plan may
reduce the deficit, but can also increase the amount owed (Tankersley). This issue
was first established because the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling is the amount of
Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, And Islam
Throughout human history there have been many different views on what happens to
human beings after they die. These views differ, not on what happens to the body
after death, but more so on what happens to the immaterial part of the human. Is
death the end of the human all together, is it a beginning or is it something
completely different? There are various different religious views held on death by
Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam. There are also non religious
worldviews about death by postmodernists. One lives his life based on what they
perceive will befall them after death. Therefore, the way one lives their life is
controlled by what they believe will happen after their death. Hinduism is one of the
world s oldest religions and is still around today, being the third largest religionin the
world. It originated from the Aryans in India about five to six thousand years ago.
Hinduism has a fascinating view on death that is held by most traditional religions
other than Christianity and Islam. It believes that when we die we are reincarnated.
This idea means that we have lived many times before and will live many times
again, believing that death is not the end. This view on death and reincarnationis held
by both sects of Hinduism, these being Vaishnavism and Shaivism. The idea of
reincarnation believes that we have all lived previous lives and are living in the
present conditions because of the way we lived our previous lives. This view focuses

In understanding the difference of database system from conventional file processing
system such as spread sheet, the following attributes helps to know more about it.
Primary Key:
The unique key which we give to the table and creates relationship with the foreign
keys in the other tables is known as a primary key. It removes the risk of redundancy
and duplication of data.
Foreign Key:
Foreign key is the primary key on the other table. It is used to link the table with one
another. It ensures that the record for such transaction is present in the former or
master table. Let us see the following diagram for better understanding
Figure.1.
In the above table, we can clearly see that Customer ID in the tblTimeSheet is
connected to the Customer ID in the tblcustomer. We can also see the One to many
and many to one relationships in the relationship database tables above.
Normalization:
Normalization is the process of organizing data in the relational database. The
database is split into tables and record the required information in the given field. The
benefit of normalization is that it reduces data redundancy and dependency of data.
(Brett Considine, 2008)
Computer database:
With the increasing requirements of the business world, software developers came up
with the computerized database solution which has multiple built. Computer database
reduces the replication of the data by storing the data at a central location so that
everyone can access it
Analysis Of Katherine Mansfield s The Garden Party Essay
Kelsey Archuleta Ms. Sparks AP Lit p.6 8 December 2016 Title Katherine
Mansfield was a modernist short story writer during the 1920 s. She wrote various
short stories in the few years as an author, Mansfield s stories often commented on
class, relationships, families, and sexuality, After reading a few of her most
popular works the common theme of them though out was the central conclusion
of them all is the protagonist coming of age by seeing the more realistic view on
life. The common theme aids Mansfield s in communicating to her readers the idea
of one finally seeing the truths in his or hers personal lifestyles. Mansfield carries
this central theme in all stories by using literary devices such as imagery and
symbols. Mansfield s stories contain her protagonist living in a situation where
they are blinded by others or societies standards on how they should think or feel.
For example Laura in The Garden Party , is confronted with the reality of death.
Mansfield introduces the story by explaining the extravagant garden party Laura s
mother is allowing her to plan. The details of Laura ordering around staff and the
whole complexity of it all leads readers to believe that Laura and her family are of
higher class. Because of this Laura has not been introduces to the realities of life
such as Death. She has also been taught that because of her class other below her are
unacceptable as her neighbors the Sheridans were unacceptable and they were the

Analysis Of Superboy And The Invisible Girl
For my song analysis I chose a piece for a musical which is called Next to Normal.
The song in the musical is called Superboy and the Invisible Girl. The musical
features an average American family trying to hold itself together. The dad goes to
work, the daughter, Natalie is a genius, but the mother, Diana, struggles with bipolar
disorder and hallucinations. Their son Gabe, died as an infant, but the motherhas been
hallucinating him, growing up with the rest of the familyas if he never died. So Gabe,
in a strange way, is actually one of the main characters. This is a key song in the
storyline because it is the first time that Natalie attempts to express her true
feelings. The song starts off with Natalie singing what becomes the chorus of the
song, Superboy and the Invisible Girl... Son of steel and daughter of air. He s a
hero, a lover, a prince She s not there . Natalie struggles with how to find a place in
her family where she is content. She grapples with how she can surpass her
brother s shadow, when her mother puts him on a pedestal. How do you compete
with a dead person? She feels like he is this person that can do no wrong and that
she just doesn t exist, despite how hard she tries to be perfect to earn her mother s
love and approval. Even though Gabe is technically dead, he does still have a type
of relationship with his sister. We talked about some of these as being the effect on
an adolescent s relationship with their siblings and their parent(s) when
Theodore Roosevelt View On Imperialism
Theodore Roosevelt: I believe that America has a destiny to expand. Now that we
have occupied all of the continental United States, it is time to occupy other
territories and gain new states around the world. When we own places like this,
especially near Asia, we will have much more opportunities to expand our markets
and grow our economy. Also, having ports throughout the Pacific Oceanwill help us
create a strong naval force, which will give our great nation global power.
Imperialism is the key to a strong, honored country.
Mark Twain: I believe that Imperialism would make our nation strong in some
ways, but weak in more important others. It may give our nation global eminence in
military and trade. However, it takes the land belonging to native people, and creates
a mode of self interest from it. In the treaty of Paris, instead of civilizing the people
of the Philippines and bringing them Christianity, it oppresses them, conquers them,
and kills them. There is no moral excuse for this conduct. America will be seen as
weak because, instead of honorably setting a people up for prosperity, it shuns,
weakens, and destroys them. Imperialism is the key to a controlling, tyrant country.
Theodore Roosevelt: Nonsense. America is destined to become a global power. If
there is no other way to do this except by oppressing another nation, it must be done.
We must not let anything get in the way of our rise to global recognition.
Mark Twain: What were the first

The term financial services became more prevalent in the United States partly as a
result of the Gramm Leach Bliley Act of the late 1990s.
which enabled different types of companies operating in the U.S. financial services
industry at that time to merge.[2]
B.Companies usually have two distinct approaches to this new type of business.
One approach would be a bank which simply buys an insurance company or an
investment bank, keeps the original brands of the acquired firm, and adds the
acquisition to its holding company simply to diversify its earnings.
Outside the U.S. (e.g. Japan), non financial services companies are permitted within
the holding company. In this scenario, each company still looks independent, and has
its own customers, etc. In the other style, a bank would simply create its own
brokerage division or insurance division and attempt to sell those products to its own
existing customers, with incentives for combining all things with one company.

Cause And Effect Of The Spill
On the Easter Sunday of March 24, 1989 an oil tanker destined for Long Beach,
California was stopped short of its destination when it struck the Prince William
Sound s Bligh Reef (PWS). In charge of the ship was Captain Joseph Jeffrey
Hazelwood. It was reported that Captain Hazelwood was not at the bridge of the ship
during the incident. Furthermore he was accused of alcohol intoxication that might
have contributed to the event. This event caused a catastrophic oil spill that resulted
in 11 million gallons of crude oil spreading throughout the ocean. At that time, it was
considered the largest oil that had ever happened in the United States, hence, it was
expected to have devastating effects on the ecology and the different species living...

In charge of the ship was Captain Joseph Hazelwood. At the time of the time
incident, Hazelwood was reported to be in his stateroom while leaving Third Mate
Gregory Cousins in charge. This led to the failure of the ship to return to the
shipping lanes and eventually thrashing through the Bligh Reef. Although Captain
Hazelwood was accused and charged of alcohol intoxication while on duty,
Captain Hazelwood was acquitted of that charge, instead the state charged him
with a misdemeanor negligence. This misdemeanor gave Hazelwood a $50,000
fine and 1000 hour of community service. Nearly twenty seven years ago is when
the event took place and yet there are still thousands of gallons of oil that pollute
the beaches near Prince William Sound. The oil found in the beach still has it
adverse effects on the ecosystem near the shore. Although, observations have led
for most to believe that natural removal of the oil will take place overtime, a decline
in the rate of oil removal have proved them otherwise. From 1989 to 1992, the annual
rate for natural oil removal was at 80%, the following years of 1989 to 2001 took a
staggering decline at a rate of 22%. After 2001, a mere 4% rate was all that was left
to defend the oiled shore of Prince William Sound. Efforts to clean the oil proved to
be difficult due to its remote location and reachable only by air and sea

I really think the Apostle Paul, was quite right when he said, in his book the Epistle
to the Romans, in the 12th chapter, that it all starts to and I quote, be transformed by
the renewing of your mind .
How do we renew our minds? By living out love? In the 13th chapter of the First
Epistle to the Corinthians, also written by Paul the Apostle, is written a great
summary of how love looks like.
1 Corinthians 13 (ESV)
The Way of Love
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong
or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and
if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I
gain nothing.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It
does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at
wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all

Conflict And Risk In Welcome To The Monkey House By
Kurt...
Would you take a risk, knowing that there could be potential consequences?
Characters always find themselves in risky situations where they have to make a
tough choice. Most people aren t daring enough, and they wouldn t gamble with their
safety. Risk, and the process of making decisions, is a strategy that is prevalent in
Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut
. Vonnegut uses this strategy to
show the conflicts and decisions that characters in his stories had to make. The use
of conflict and decisions are used in the stories A Long Walk to Forever and Next
Door Doing this reveals an aspects of the characters identity and shows if they are
willing to take chances.
Love has the power to make you do crazy things. When you re in love with
someone it makes your head go crazy, and it makes you act irrationally. Leading you
to take risks, and make difficult decisions. The theme of conflict and risk is prevalent
in Newt and Catherine s actions in A Long Walk to Forever. Newt and Catherine
both had to make a choice and take a risk to be with each other. Newt was
sacrificing his job in the Army. Newt exclaimed I m what they call A.W.O.L.

How Did Jack London Use Work Animals In The Call Of
The Wild
Out of the 1,979 average cases of animal abuse in the media each year, dogs take
the highest amount of cases each year with 60% of the animals being dogs. Jack
London portrays how dogs were used as work animals in the Klondike gold rush.
London had an adventurous life. He went with the stampeders to the gold in
Klondike. London had many adventures while on his way to the gold, but to get
there He didn t come back home with gold but ideas for books like Call of the Wild
. These books portrayed some of the adventures that he had while on the Klondike,
and they they showed how the work animals were treated. In the book Call of the
Wild , london shows the characters Francois Perrault having very different

In the book it says, ВЁ He also rubbed BuckВґs feet for half an hour each night after
supper, and he sacrificed the tops of his own moccasins to make four moccasins
for Buck. This demonstrates they believe that the dogs are important, so they can
carry important mail to and from America. It also shows that they are considerate
for the dogs heath, because if the dogs died then the mail would not reach its
destination and they would lose their jobs. London also writes, ВЁFrancois called
to him a quarter of a mile away, and he doubled back, still one leap ahead, gasping
painfully for air and putting all his faith in Francios to save him. The dog driver held
the axe poised in his hand, and as buck shot past him, the axe crashed down upon
man dolly s head.ВЁ This shows that Francois and Perrault could not afford to lose
multiple dogs, if they lost more than one dog then they would make less time making
them not get as much mail moved. This would end in a loss of
The Pros And Cons Of Factory Farming
William s paper addresses the moral risk that is posed when people decide to
intentionally remain ignorant to avoid a possible ethical crisis. She then elaborates
on how this choice manifests itself in four different types of affected ignorance. She
bases her belief that factory farming is wrong using deontology and utilitarianism
because animals deserve respect as well as the ability to exist without pain that is
atypical from a natural life. Her argument is that when we chose affected ignorance,
we then become subject the possibility of moralrisk if we identify that factory farming
is morally wrong and continue to support it. I agree with her argument, but believe
that it could be strengthened by developing the idea of how affected ignorance is a
symptom of being weak willed.
Williams begins with the idea that we do not ask questions about what happens with
factory farming and that therefore makes us culpable for the disrespect that is
administered to the animals while harvesting the products. The choice of remaining
in the dark puts the person at fault due to the fact that animals in factory farming are
also subjected to pain for the purpose of cheap meat to speed up the process. She
defines the act of staying in the dark as affected ignorance and identifies four
different ways that affected ignorance manifests itself in our lives. The first, being the
refusal to acknowledge the moral impacts imposed on the animals in the factory
farming business. The second
Pratt And Whitney s Impact On The Military And
Commercial...
I will do my research on Pratt and Whitney s significant contribution to the military
and commercial aviation throughout the years. I have always been interested in this
great company s ability to learn develop, evolve and advance their engine
manufacturing technological capabilities throughout the years thus, making them a
force to recon with in the engine field. My focus will be towards the beginning
when they started building simple horizontally opposed engines through the radial
engines particularly during nineteen fifties. The wasp and the double wasp capable
of producing over 400 and 1300 shaft horsepower respectively for that time period
which was unheard of will be discussed. I love aviation and have always marveled at

These airplanes were equipped with four of these engines and transported passengers
in comfort. These engines had better performance, reliability and greater fuel
efficiency than any other at that time and won the company the prestigious Collier
Trophy award. Everything remained unchanged until 1966 when again the company
introduced the JT9D turbofan fan commercial use. Which would later be used in the
on the iconic and still the best looking airplane in aviation history the Boeing 747
which opened a completely new era in commercial aviation in 1970.
The P W Wasp Junior was produced by the thousands. It was a simple, dependable,
easy to work on engine. The accessories were attached to the rear and the constant
speed prop hub to the front.
Over the years, there have been many different configurations of radial engines,
from three cylinders to nine cylinders, with the seven and nine cylinder versions
preferred. When more power is required, a second engine is bolted at an angle to
allow cooling air to reach the second set of cylinders. The famous P W corn cob
engine had four banks of seven cylinder engines attached to one crankshaft. That s 28
cylinders, and 56 spark plugs to regularly change.
The all time reigning king of radial engines is built by United Aircraft s Pratt Whitney
Division. The man behind the engine was Frederick Rentschler who had designed a
revolutionary radial
Why Is The Stonehenge Important
The Stonehenge is a massive stone monument located on a chalky plain north of
Salisbury, England. It was built between 4,000 5,000 years ago and believed to be
completed in 3100 BC. It is made up of two main stones: Sarsens and Bluestones.
The sarsen stones are considered the biggest stones, while the bluestones are
referenced as the smallest ones. There are many mysteries of the Stonehengethat have
yet to be revealed. It is a magical and allegorical monument in England.
The surface area of one of the stones used in a Trilithon Horseshoe is 222.87m^2. I
found the surface area using the formula, PH+2B. The volume of the same stone is
8.075m^3. This was found using the formula, BH. These formulas were used to
calculate the surface area and the volume because the shape of the stone I chose is a

There are three theories that are thought to be the reason in creating the massive
monument. One theory is that it was used as a sacred burial site. Finds of skeletons
and burial mounds and the existence of a ceremonial route are evidence that it was
used as a burial site. Another theory is that it was used as a site Celestial and
Astronomical Alignments. The only evidence to support this theory is that the
timings of the cermonies are significant. Lastly, there is a theory in which the
Stonehenge was used as a place for healing. Many ancient societies argue that the
bluestones had healing properties. Many sacred and significant stones make up the
construction of the Stonehenge. The Trilithon Horseshoe is five sets of stones
arranged in a horseshoe shaped pattern. The Slaughter Stone is a stone in the ground
which is regarded as the entrance to the monument. The sun rises next to the Heel
Stone during the summer solstice. The Heel Stone is located along the Avenue, a
series of ditches. Finally, the Alter Stone, located inside the Trilithon Horseshoe, is

Snow can be one of the worlds most beautiful and ugliest creations. Once it first hit
the ground untouched, it s a lovely white blanket that covers the ground. But as
soon as you step on it it becomes a black yucky mess. Its sort of like a relationship.
There s the good times where everything goes right and you re all lovely dovely
with the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. Reality, unfortunately,
won t just allow those kind of situations. Eventually you ll run into the bad times
where your relationship can take a turn for the worse and turn into a battlefield for
war. However, just like new snow can cover the ugly snow, brand new good times
can cover those bad times. At least that s how I like to think of it as. Too bad we

China: To Float or Not To Float?
International Finance
Executive Summary
On July 21, 2005, China revalued its decade long quasi fixed exchange rate of
approximately 8.28 yuan per U.S. dollar by 2.1% to 8.11. Simultaneously, the People
s Bank of China announced that the daily trading band of 0.3% against the dollar
would be maintained. Many analysts and economists believed that the real trade
weighted value of the renminbi was undervalued by up to 30% to 35%.
Companies that produce in China for the overseas market, retailers, and importers
clearly benefit from an undervalued Chinese currency, as well as from the abuse of
workers rights. On the other hand, companies actually producing in the foreign

Impact of growth in China as well as the rest of the world by the changes in
exchange rate policy As most observers took it for granted that the yuan was
undervalued, one specific study estimated yuan undervaluation against the U.S.
dollar of at least 35% based on the price level of goods and services in China
compared with those of its trade partners. As a result, there will probably be a
sharp appreciation of renminbi if Chinese government switches over from the fixed
exchange rate policy to flexible exchange rate policy. A common figure cited for a
20 to 25 percent move of renminbi would be devastating to China, which would
cause deflation, cut economic growth, cut off foreign direct investment and would
destabilize Asia. On the other hand, other low cost countries in Asia may benefit
from the shift of FDI and production of multinational companies. However, most
high wage countries like U.S. may still face a rising trade deficit because their
imports from other low wage countries would replace products made in China.
Sustainability of the current exchange rate policy
Many economists focusing on the strain the tightly managed exchange rate imposed
on China s economy agreed that China needed to institute more flexibility. They
noted that not only was the exchange rate expensive to sustain, but it contributed as
well as limited China s flexibility in responding to a
Causes Of American Civil War
There were many causes to the American Civil War. One Major cause of the Civil
War was the Missouri Compromise. This was a cause because people from other
states who were eligible to vote voted that missouri would be a slave state even
though the people living in missouri wanted it to be a free state(The Columbia
Electronic Encyclopedia 1). The Missouri Compromise incident also caused small
battles like Bleeding Kansas(Causes of the Civil 1). One other major cause of the
Civil War was the election of President Abraham Lincoln. The north wanted Lincoln
to become President but the southern states hated the idea of Lincoln coming into
office(The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia 1). The south thought that Lincoln
would take away their rights... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This battle took place in Fredericksburg, VA, December 1862(Woodworth 1). The
union was not prepared. What happened after all of these battles took place?
The united states changed a lot after the war. The union did not really change. The
only difference was Lincoln was killed so a new president had to be
elected(Reconstruction 1). The south had major changes. Their slaves were taken
away and their plantations were burned(Reconstruction 1). Many southerners were
left starving so many of them moved to the north(Reconstruction 1). The north also
had to rebuild the things the south destroyed but it was more significant in the
south(Guelzo 1). The reconstruction period lasted for almost 20 years(Guelzo 1).
The civil war was a devastating time for everybody in

Venezuela
Venezuela is a country located on the northern coast of South America. It borders
Guyana to the east, Brazil to the south and Colombia to the west ( Basic Facts on
Venezuela ). It is interesting to see how a country that was once rich and had a
strong government can end up caught in an economic crisis. Then, this may result in
violence and chaos in the country. The worst part is that a crisis in one country can
produce shocks all over the world.
Government:
Venezuelais considered a federal republic. It has five different branches of
government; the executive, legislative, judiciary, electoral and citizen. Like in the
United States, the president of Venezuela is the head of the executive branch.
Although both America and Venezuela elect their president by popular vote, there is
one big difference. The 22nd Amendment of the American Constitution sets a clear,
two term limit. On the other hand, President Hugo Chavez won a constitutional
referendum to eliminate term limits. Due to this change, he was able to remain in
power from 1999 to 2013. When former President Hugo Chavez died, Nicolas
Maduro took his place as the president.
The legislative branch is composed of the Unicameral National Assembly ( Basic
Facts on Venezuela ). The members are elected by popular vote to serve 5 year
terms. The current president of the National Assembly is Henry Ramos Allup. The
The Role Of Choral Music And How Communication
Occurs...
While the history of choral assembly quite a broad field, this should show the variety
between ancient choral music and that of the common era. With this understanding in
mind, therefore, one can enter the discussion of communication with amenable
thought.
Communication
To begin with, it is important for one to understand how choral assembly can be
related to communication, and how communication occurs in the choral setting.
There are three major varying ways this happens: choir to the audience, director to the
choir, and choir member to the choir member. These three instances are not limited to
the field of communication, but do resemble the characteristics that make up
communication in an individual s life. When a choir mounts the ... Show more content

One gesture that is incorrectly timed or misplaced could significantly alter the way
the choir responds to the conductor. In turn, that response could alter the intended
message of the choir. Additionally, the choir communicates to each other as
members. Choirs are normally built of four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and
bass(SATB). For choirs with more skill, the SSAATTBB form is used(each choir
part being split into two). Communication often occurs based on the formation of
the choir the placement of vocal parts in physical proximity to each other. As seen
in Appendix A, figure 1a depicts a choir formation. This formation is one of
simplicity, but also of effectiveness. Each vocal part is grouped together so that
choir members can rely on each other for note precision. In this setting, the choir
has the ability to communicate to each by way of directly hearing the notes they
need to sing. For example: a bass is standing right next to another bass. If he misses
an entrance, he can listen to a bass near him, and re enter the music. The
communication present could almost be viewed as sub conscious reaction,
however, to label it as such would be improper due to its vital nature. The formation
seen in figure 1a is often used for beginning choirs because it is a safe environment
for people to grow vocally. On the other hand, the formation seen in figure 1b is
significantly more difficult and requires much more skill. In
Early Childhood Educator
As a future early childhood educator, I took it upon myself to get a better
understanding of what my future would look like. I began working at the Boys
and Girls Club in the early childhood education program, and it has been one of the
most beneficial and inspirational parts of my life. While there, I have worked with
children who come from completely opposite sides of the socioeconomic,
language, and development spectrums. My first year gave me my greatest teaching
dilemma I have faced yet. Preschool girl twins were placed in my classroom after
moving from Africa just days prior. Neither girls nor mom could talk English, both
girls wore the exact same clothing and hair every day, and they always needed to be
hand in hand. I was overwhelmed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both the boy and the girl have developmental differences. The girl is incredibly
independent, a quick learner, but is also highly sensitive and socially resistant. Her
brother is especially dependent, slow to learn, and extremely sensitive. I mostly
worked with the boy and tried to understand who he is as a person. I quickly
learned that he will have a meltdown if something is wrong with his clothes like if
he spilt milk on his shirt and was wet or if there was a rock in his shoe and it hurt. I
also observed that he constantly has to be touching something whether it be
another child, the pictures on the wall, the rug on the ground, and anything in
between. During a meltdown, I would talk to him on his level face to face and stay
calm when asking what is wrong and what can I do to help him. I continuously
reassured him that he has an extra shirt that is dry and all we have to do is take his
shoe off to get the rock out. I also changed the way that I taught him lessons by
giving him physical objects of what we were talking about to hold on to and feel.
When it was circle time, he was given a small ball to hold on to and manipulate as
long as it was not distracting to other children or taking his attention away from the
lesson. My strengths in this experience were understanding his developmental
tendencies and adhering to them in a calm and productive

  • 2. Patriot Missile Crisis Intro Ballistic missile defense became a necessity after World War II when Germany developed and launched several missiles at targets around Europe. During the Cold War, the United States and Russia began developing technologies to build and use long range missiles at a moment s notice. Before the Gulf War and Desert Storm there were no systems to defend against theater ballistic missiles or TBM s. The Patriot missile system had been developed in the 1970 s to counter threats from enemy aircrafts. Shortly before the Gulf War, testing and production of the first PAC1 missiles had begun to be used against Short range missiles. The use of the Patriot system had a huge impact to the success of the Gulf War and Desert Storm by defending US and coalition assets in Saudi Arabia and Israel from Scud Missile attacks by Iraqi Forces. Before World War II a German engineer, Wernher von Braun, had begun working on rocket designs that eventually led to the development and launch of over 3000... On 18 January 1991, the first interception of tactical ballistic missiles in combat occurred. Alpha Battery, 2 7 ADA successfully intercepted Iraqi Scuds. The interceptions strengthened the trust in the Patriot system. On 21 and 22 January, Patriot crews engaged more tactical ballistic missiles. As Patriot successfully engaged more tactical ballistic missiles, there were fewer Scud launches. Air Defense became a key component in collation planning. Air Defense units were attached to the majority of ground units on the front lines moving into Iraq. Patriot proved their mobility while attached to the 3rd Armored Cavalry and the XVIII Airborne during the Hail Mary sweep into Iraq. Patriot moved and provided air defense during one of Desert Storm s most intense
  • 3. Bob Marley Essay Bob Marley Of the many genres of music, reggae is one that displays a positive message to its listeners. A prominent artist who clearly expressed this was Robert Nesta Marley, more commonly known as Bob Marley. Marley connected with his audience on a variety of levels. While he worked to unite the people of his country, Jamaica, he proclaimed his message across the world. Bob Marley persuades his audience to accept the message of ethnic unity through his message presentation, social interactions, lifestyle and musical lyrics. Bob Marley was born in Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica. As a youngster he moved to Trench town with his mother where his music career was born. In Jamaica, Marley could voice the feelings and opinions of his fellow citizens, who were delusional with the failures of independence and the breakdown of local politics. The role of music in Jamaica contributed to Marley?s music. It helped play an important role in giving voice and communicating with an increasingly important political class in the evolving country. Undoubtedly, he was favored by both sides of the politic battle in Jamaica and with many other nations around the world. Marley avoided direct involvement in politics, because the Rastafarian people believe that activities like that were essentially invalid manifestations of the work of higher government authorities against which they believed. One of the original reasons behind Bob Marley?s emergence as a leader within post independent Jamaica was simple: the complete failure of the country?s political leaders to represent the needs of the black lower classes in the years before and after their independence. By staying away from the malevolent competitive battles of the actual and possible political leaders, he could attract a group of followers that others could not amass. ?As former Jamaican prime minister Michael Manley has noted, ?Marley took what was a subculture in Jamaica and elevated it to a dominant culture?[He] took a folk art and he elevated it into a universal language of communication.? Perhaps the expansion of black culture was even more important than political
  • 4. Disadvantages Of Traffic Engineering According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (2013), the role of traffic engineering comes in play; it is the phase of engineering that deals with the planning, having a good relationships with other modes of transportation, and traffic operations of roads, streets and highways for the achievement of safe, efficient and convenient movement of people and goods. Aside from interpreting relationships among vehicles, trafficengineering applies technology and its principles to plan and operate facilities for any mode of transportation (Roses, R., 2004.). Furthermore, the objective of traffic engineering is to explore the factors contributing to traffic congestion, to draw lessons from the experience that were gained to date so they may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The traffic flow along the Katipunan Avenue, in their opinion, seemed to worsen as the volume of vehicles passing along seems to get higher. They also complained about the time limit of the stoplight. In addition, many people had pointed out the presence of trucks during rush hour which makes the situation more unbearable. Another disadvantage of traffic engineering is that it may cause harm and discomfort to people as well as to the economy especially if traffic schemes that are implemented are not suitable to the different vehicles roaming the streets. Such traffic scheme may result to vehicle collisions that would increase delay especially during peak hours. Also, disobedience of road rules and regulations may be violated because of the improper implementation of the scheme. These disadvantages can cause extreme deterioration in the overall safety of motorists and commuters. It can be concluded that imposing the new Katipunan Avenue traffic scheme presents a positive and negative implication. First, although it was designed to provide convenience and promote safety among commuters and motorists, many people still think that there is no use at all in implementing such new traffic scheme development action because the present condition along the Katipunan Avenue remains the same. Accordingly, some say that there is still inadequacies present in the new traffic scheme imposed by the MMDA and they should address as soon as

Through incidents, comments made by the characters, and statements by the narrator, Twain enables the readers to observe the attitudes of the people concerning discrimination and involuntary servitude before the Emancipation Proclamation. Even in the United States children can be found working fifty to sixty hours a week on tobacco farms garbed only in trash bags to protect them from the nicotine and pesticide residues seeping into their skins. Many of these children describe getting searing headaches, sudden vomiting, and dizziness that last throughout the night. Because a child body is still developing it makes them even more vulnerable to pesticides and the effects of nicotine poising. Not only are the effects of the chemicals very harmful, but also the job itself can be dangerous. Many of the equipment used on the farms are made for full sized adults, not a twelve year old child. Because of this there have been numerous fatalities where a child would lean over to get something and fall of the tractor and be crushed by the machine. John Stuart Mill Weaknesses Introduction Although John Stuart Mill s form of utilitarianism is not difficult, procedurally, to employ, complex thought experiments are not able to fully present the results of the theory in an individual s life. Because of this inability, I set aside a block of two days where I could apply the theory to my decision making, which allowed me to see the pragmatic side of the theory, so I can return to a place of analysis with a better understanding of the problems utilitarianism faces. However, within a span of two days, I cannot claim to have received an expansive experience with Mill utilitarianism, therefore my discussion can proceed with what I did learn, but should not be considered a complete, comprehensive picture. • 12. The Field Of Mental Health Scientist Practitioner Gap in the Field of Mental Health Implementing evidence based practices (EBPs) for the treatment of psychological disorders represents a major challenge within the field of mental health. Literally hundreds of evidence based treatments (EBTs) and thousands of evidence based assessment (EBA) tools are available; however such practices are generally not implemented in routine clinical practice (Chorpita et al. 2014 presentation; Weston, Novotny, Thompson Brenner, 2004a; 2004b; Strupp Anderson, 1997). For example, clinicians implement self report measures in 18% of sessions and structured clinical interviews in 1% (Sattler et al). Furthermore, clinicians implement key components of EBTs for common disorders in just 22% of sessions (Whiteside et al). Infrequent implementation of EBPs is a well documented symptom of the gap between science and practice within the field of clinical psychology. The field is moving away from a clinician based model in which practitioners preference and theoretical orientation decides treatment, and in its place an industrialized model is emerging (Dulcan, 2005). Within this model, greater emphasis is placed on standardization of training and treatment methods as well as treatment fidelity and quality assurance. The changing landscape is due primarily to a trend in which patients are no longer paying for mental health services out of pocket, but rather, third party stakeholders (e.g., insurance companies) are

  • 16. Walt Whitman s The Things They Carried Mankind has always been fascinated with literature throughout history, writing stories of history and of fantasy. Authors don t start out famous and are sometimes forced to witness mankind s most abhorred creation, war. Some authors are just journalists who are sent to cover the carnage and some are not yet authors, but will become authors later in history. It is well known many people change after witnessing or experiencing war, but if could this influence or change their writing style? Walt Whitman started journalism in 1841. He founded a weekly newspaper called the Long Islander. In 1865, Whitman published his second edition of Leaves of Grass (poets.org). After the start of the Civil War had started, Whitman went to Washington because he read his brother s name (George Whitman) on a casualty list from the battle of Fredericksburg. He arrived in time to find his brother with a small cut on his face and while there he noticed how terrible the sick and wounded were being treated. He decided that he will do what he can to help and stayed. After the civil war, Whitman published Drum Taps. This collection of poems is more focused on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 19. Motif And Motifs In Macbeth Sight of Darkness: Analyzing Murder Motifs in Macbeth Throughout Shakespeare s Macbeth, the motif sight represents a terrible event or murder; coinciding with the event, while also highlighting Macbeth s lack of accountability for the crimes. Through the use of the motif sight, it is conveyed that Macbeth decides he must turn a blind eye to the murder of Duncan. While trying to secure the throne he is prophesied to have, Macbeth frequently questions whether he should interfere with fate s process. After speaking with Duncan, Macbeth steps aside and states, The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be /which the eye fears, when it is done, to see (1.4.59 60). Macbeth s thoughts to kill Duncan are so evil when he does it that Macbeth doesn t want to look. In addition, the eye is a directly related to the brain, therefore, by winking, Macbeth tries to avoid acknowledging the evil he may commit. To conclude, Macbeth cannot stomach the thought of killing Duncan so he must turn a blind eye to it; he will try to literally not see it, and not acknowledge it cognitively. Another example of Macbeth turning a blind eye is after the killing of Duncan. Macbeth discusses with Lady Macbeth the remorse and guilt he feels. He states, I am afraid to think what I have done. / Look at again I dare not (2.2.66 67). Even after killing Duncan in attempt to claim the throne, Macbeth refuses to look at Duncan and his dead body. This again highlights Macbeth s refusal to condone his deeds as he cannot bare to look at what he has done. The final sight motif used by Macbeth precedes the murder of Banquo. Even after Duncan is dead, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot stand idle and wait for the crown to be delivered to them; they decree to remove any threats posed to their succession. For this reason, they hire three murderers to kill Banquo. While talking to Lady Macbeth about their plans, Macbeth responds, Come, seeling night, / scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day / and with thy bloody and invisible hand (3.2.52 54). Similarly to the first passage, Macbeth is saying the actions of killing Banquo are so violent that it cannot be visible by the light of day. Related to both passages, Macbeth does not want anyone to

Residential schools existed about a hundred years ago. These tragic schools were established because European people wanted the Indigenous people of Canada to be assimilated into Euro Canadian. The European people thought that their civilization was the greatest human achievement. A lot of residential schools opened within Canada s provinces. Life at residential schools was very cruel because the students got limited time to learn and more time to do exhausting chores. The children also got brutally abused for various things including if they offend the nuns and priests working in the schools. By the time the children had finished attending the residential schools they had almost forgotten everything about their cultureand traditions. Residential schools treated children very poorly which caused some long lasting effects that still impact Indigenous people today. There were a lot of residential schools in Canada and there were a variety of reasons why and how these schools had opened. There are various different religious views held on death by Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam. There are also non religious worldviews about death by postmodernists. One lives his life based on what they perceive will befall them after death. Therefore, the way one lives their life is controlled by what they believe will happen after their death. The song in the musical is called Superboy and the Invisible Girl. The musical features an average American family trying to hold itself together. The dad goes to work, the daughter, Natalie is a genius, but the mother, Diana, struggles with bipolar disorder and hallucinations. Their son Gabe, died as an infant, but the motherhas been hallucinating him, growing up with the rest of the familyas if he never died. So Gabe, in a strange way, is actually one of the main characters. This is a key song in the storyline because it is the first time that Natalie attempts to express her true feelings. The song starts off with Natalie singing what becomes the chorus of the song, Superboy and the Invisible Girl... Son of steel and daughter of air. He s a hero, a lover, a prince She s not there . Natalie struggles with how to find a place in her family where she is content. She grapples with how she can surpass her brother s shadow, when her mother puts him on a pedestal. How do you compete with a dead person? She feels like he is this person that can do no wrong and that she just doesn t exist, despite how hard she tries to be perfect to earn her mother s love and approval. Now that we have occupied all of the continental United States, it is time to occupy other territories and gain new states around the world. Also, having ports throughout the Pacific Oceanwill help us create a strong naval force, which will give our great nation global power. Imperialism is the key to a strong, honored country. Mark Twain: I believe that Imperialism would make our nation strong in some ways, but weak in more important others. It may give our nation global eminence in military and trade. However, it takes the land belonging to native people, and creates a mode of self interest from it. In the treaty of Paris, instead of civilizing the people of the Philippines and bringing them Christianity, it oppresses them, conquers them, and kills them. There is no moral excuse for this conduct. America will be seen as weak because, instead of honorably setting a people up for prosperity, it shuns, weakens, and destroys them. Imperialism is the key to a controlling, tyrant country. Theodore Roosevelt: Nonsense. America is destined to become a global power. If there is no other way to do this except by oppressing another nation, it must be done. We must not let anything get in the way of our rise to global recognition. Mark Twain: What were the first

I really think the Apostle Paul, was quite right when he said, in his book the Epistle to the Romans, in the 12th chapter, that it all starts to and I quote, be transformed by the renewing of your mind . How do we renew our minds? By living out love? In the 13th chapter of the First Epistle to the Corinthians, also written by Paul the Apostle, is written a great summary of how love looks like. 1 Corinthians 13 (ESV) The Way of Love If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all

Characters always find themselves in risky situations where they have to make a tough choice. Most people aren t daring enough, and they wouldn t gamble with their safety. Risk, and the process of making decisions, is a strategy that is prevalent in Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut . Vonnegut uses this strategy to show the conflicts and decisions that characters in his stories had to make. The use of conflict and decisions are used in the stories A Long Walk to Forever and Next Door Doing this reveals an aspects of the characters identity and shows if they are willing to take chances. Love has the power to make you do crazy things. When you re in love with someone it makes your head go crazy, and it makes you act irrationally. Leading you to take risks, and make difficult decisions. The theme of conflict and risk is prevalent in Newt and Catherine s actions in A Long Walk to Forever. Newt and Catherine both had to make a choice and take a risk to be with each other. Newt was sacrificing his job in the Army. Newt exclaimed I m what they call A.W.O.L. She then elaborates on how this choice manifests itself in four different types of affected ignorance. She bases her belief that factory farming is wrong using deontology and utilitarianism because animals deserve respect as well as the ability to exist without pain that is atypical from a natural life. Her argument is that when we chose affected ignorance, we then become subject the possibility of moralrisk if we identify that factory farming is morally wrong and continue to support it. I agree with her argument, but believe that it could be strengthened by developing the idea of how affected ignorance is a symptom of being weak willed. Williams begins with the idea that we do not ask questions about what happens with factory farming and that therefore makes us culpable for the disrespect that is administered to the animals while harvesting the products. The choice of remaining in the dark puts the person at fault due to the fact that animals in factory farming are also subjected to pain for the purpose of cheap meat to speed up the process. She defines the act of staying in the dark as affected ignorance and identifies four different ways that affected ignorance manifests itself in our lives. The first, being the refusal to acknowledge the moral impacts imposed on the animals in the factory farming business. The second

Impact of growth in China as well as the rest of the world by the changes in exchange rate policy As most observers took it for granted that the yuan was undervalued, one specific study estimated yuan undervaluation against the U.S. dollar of at least 35% based on the price level of goods and services in China compared with those of its trade partners. As a result, there will probably be a sharp appreciation of renminbi if Chinese government switches over from the fixed exchange rate policy to flexible exchange rate policy. A common figure cited for a 20 to 25 percent move of renminbi would be devastating to China, which would cause deflation, cut economic growth, cut off foreign direct investment and would destabilize Asia. On the other hand, other low cost countries in Asia may benefit from the shift of FDI and production of multinational companies. However, most high wage countries like U.S. may still face a rising trade deficit because their imports from other low wage countries would replace products made in China. Sustainability of the current exchange rate policy Many economists focusing on the strain the tightly managed exchange rate imposed on China s economy agreed that China needed to institute more flexibility. While the history of choral assembly quite a broad field, this should show the variety between ancient choral music and that of the common era. With this understanding in mind, therefore, one can enter the discussion of communication with amenable thought. Communication To begin with, it is important for one to understand how choral assembly can be related to communication, and how communication occurs in the choral setting. There are three major varying ways this happens: choir to the audience, director to the choir, and choir member to the choir member. In turn, that response could alter the intended message of the choir. Additionally, the choir communicates to each other as members. Choirs are normally built of four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass(SATB). For choirs with more skill, the SSAATTBB form is used(each choir part being split into two). Communication often occurs based on the formation of the choir the placement of vocal parts in physical proximity to each other. As seen in Appendix A, figure 1a depicts a choir formation. This formation is one of simplicity, but also of effectiveness. Each vocal part is grouped together so that choir members can rely on each other for note precision. In this setting, the choir has the ability to communicate to each by way of directly hearing the notes they need to sing. For example: a bass is standing right next to another bass. If he misses an entrance, he can listen to a bass near him, and re enter the music. The communication present could almost be viewed as sub conscious reaction, however, to label it as such would be improper due to its vital nature. The formation seen in figure 1a is often used for beginning choirs because it is a safe environment for people to grow vocally. On the other hand, the formation seen in figure 1b is significantly more difficult and requires much more skill. In

I also changed the way that I taught him lessons by giving him physical objects of what we were talking about to hold on to and feel.
