Comparing Zappos And Trader Joe s Social Media
For this assignment, I ll be comparing and contrasting Zappos and Trader Joe s social media
channels. At the bottom of Zappos homepage they have an easy to spot Connect with Us header
with the following social media channels icons: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, their own blog, and
Instagram. Instagram has a bigger icon and call out to follow Zappos on Instagram. Their
Facebook page has 1,999,074 likes and is updated daily. In For Veterans Day, they posted an
engaging video honoring disabled veterans by sharing their stories and providing shoes to the vets.
The video is very catching and highly relevant. Zappos successfully answers questions from
(potential) customers on their posts creating a two way relationship. Zappos ... Show more content

Their website is easy to navigate, informative, up to date, and eye catching but the only way to
contact them is in person at a store, by phone, or through their customer inquiries page. A
consumer may not have the patience to resolve an issue or send an inquiry if it s not almost
instantly responded to. That s one important aspect of social media channels, the almost
simultaneous interaction and sense of being heard immediately. One may argue that they don t
need any social media presence since they ve been doing well so far but with the growing
number of consumers using social media channels, I would advise them to start at least two
channels. I feel that a Twitter and Facebook channel would be the best places to start. They would
be able to target a wide array of audiences through these channels. To start, they could link their
Facebook and Twitter accounts allowing them to post on one site and have it be seen on the other.
Gradually they could start crafting Twitter specific tweets and unlink their Facebook and Twitter
channels. They already release an e newsletter and I feel that the language, recipes, products, etc.
would be easy to post or tweet

Plagerism Or Schoolastic Dishonesty
I believe that this is plagerism or schoolastic dishonesty. I belive this because plagerism is
defined as teh practice of taking somone else s work or ideas and passing them off as one s own.
In other words plagerism is an act of fraud. In the text Miguel ask Alyssa to tellhim the anwers to
questions on the test. This means that the answers Miguel provideson his test are not his own
and by definition are plagerized. I believe that Miguel and Alyssa are at fault for plagerizm. I
believe this because the following took place in the text, Miguel asked Alyssa for the answers
and Alyssa moved her arm so that Miguel could see her paper. Justin see s what is taking place but
did not participate in the act so he is not at fault for plagerizm.

Peer Pressure In Shooting An Elephant By George Orwell
Most people believe that others have authority and control over their own actions. However,
contrary to belief, authority controls people s actions. Peer pressure can have an effect on the
decisions people make. In this short story, the policeman (the protagonist) is hated by the
majority of people in the city of Moulmein. He is hated because he is secretly on the Burmese
people s side instead of the British. Along with conflict of the British and Burmese people, an
elephant escapes and causes chaos throughout the city. It is killing people and destroying
buildings. The policeman decides to step in and help, but he is faced with the peer pressure of the
crowd to killan elephant that he has no intention in killing. The protagonist is faced with lying to
other people and regret for his actions. In, Shooting an Elephant George Orwellexplains how the
policeman struggles between the decisions of shooting an elephant to please the authoritarian
crowd that can treat him better and accept him.
When the policeman decides to help the people of Moulmein, in lower Burma, he lets them believe
his gun is going to be used to shoot the elephant, because of the presser the crowd puts on him.
The protagonist struggles throughout life due to the fact that most people despise him. The text
states that, I was hated by large numbers of people the only time in my life that I have been
important enough for this to happen to me, (17). The people have the authority over the hatred
that is directed towards the protagonist. They control if he is accepted or outcasted. The
policeman was looking for a way not to be hated, so he decides to help with chaos that the
elephant has created. He grabs his gun and then is confronted with a crowd that normally would
have no interest in him. For example, They had seen the rifle and were all shouting excitedly that
I was going to shoot the elephant, (19). The magical rifle in his hands makes him seem worth
paying attention to. This is because the policeman can shoot the elephant and give the people what
they want. The protagonist was not intending to shoot the elephant so, he did not tell the crowd
that he was going to use the rifle for protection. This may be because, he was looking for a

Cardiomyopathy Case Study
Cardiac abnormalities are often detected during physical examination of hyperthyroid
cats1
. These abnormalities are diverse and can appear as subtle, clinically inconsequential
myocardial changes but also as severe changes which could be associated with the development
of heart failure leading to death. Often times, it is difficult to determine whether cardiac
abnormalities that persist after the treatment and resolution of hyperthyroidism are the result of
the hyperthyroidism or a primary cardiac disease1
.
The most common form of primary myocardial disease in cats is hypertrophic

Over time, cats may develop an enlargement or thickening of the left ventricle2

the heart may result in echocardiographic changes which are indistinguishable from one another,
and therefore echocardiogram is not always a useful tool in differentiating between primary and
secondary cardiomyopathy.
This paper evaluated plasma concentrations of two cardiac biomarkers; N terminal
probrain natriuretic peptide (NT proBNP) and cardiac troponin I (cTNI). NT proBNP is secreted
in response to myocardial stretch, and cTNI is released from the cytosol of damaged
cardiomyocytes2
. These biomarkers were evaluated in the plasma to identify if a possible
correlation between plasma concentrations of the biomarkers and cardiomyopathies existed.
Previous studies in hyperthyroid humans have shown that increased plasma concentrations of
NT proBNP and T4, which stimulates BPN release from cardiomyocytes, indicating a change in
the heart due to hyperthyroidism3
. No such study has been done to compare plasma

War Torn Italy
1. How is the harsh reality of war torn Italy presented in the texts?
(Film making techniques used to reflect the reality),
The harsh reality of war torn Italy is presented in the texts Rome, open city and Bicycle thieves
through certain film techniques that the directors of the non professional films and actors used to
reflect this harsh reality of Italy. Setting = Location, where people were actually living. Non
diegetic sound: slow and fast music to represent the mood in the film. Cinematography is used

The implications of the war experiences had on post war living was mass amounts of
unemployment only the lucky few people were able to find jobs depending on their trade and if
they were hiring for that trade. The men therefore could not properly provide food for their
families even if they had a job because the pay was so low due to Italy having to use a lot of
their money in the war and increases in taxes to help rebuild the country after it. Living in old
destroyed buildings that were dirty and about to fall apart and the rest of their city due to strikes
and bombings during the war.
In Bicycle thieves people were resorting to stealing and robbing, criminal activities just to get

he was working putting up his posters. When he went to chase one of the guy s co stealers took
him in the wrong direction so Antonio couldn t catch the thief. His desperate search for the rest

Mac Vs Pc Research Paper
Admittedly, Macs were in the market first, and initially were much better than PCs. But it s time to
realize the future of home computing: the PC. Although Macs are not completely useless, PCs
dominate the world of computers with a better user interface, cheaper price, and better internal
workings. These advantages far outweigh any little extra features that a Mac might have.
First of all, PCs have a better user interface. While Mac users have always boasted of having a
computer with a clean, modern look, this changed with Windows Vista, released on January 30,
2007. Windows Vista has translucent window bars, a search bar on the start menu, and tabs on the
bottom of the screen, as well as introducing a feature in which users can scroll ... Show more

Another factor to ponder is that PCs have more RAM, or random access memory. RAM is
memory that programs that are running use actively. Less RAM means programs run slower, so
having more RAM is definitely a plus. Windows launches applications faster than Macs, and
Windows is far better at 3 D rendering (required for most modern games) (itok.net).
Compatibility is definitely a major issue. PC s are compatible with Xbox 360, the top selling
console of 2011 (winrumors.com), Linux, and Windows 7 has something called XP mode. XP
mode allows the PC user to run Windows XP on their Windows 7. PCs are also more compatible
with TVs/big screens, because most Macs require an adapter (www.itok.net). Another topic to
think about is the Windows Task Manager. The Windows Task Manager allows you access with
a quick shortcut (CTRL SHIFT ESC or CTRL ALT DELETE) to close unresponsive or frozen
programs, or to monitor threads, CPU usage, network usages, users, and background processes.
Mac s equivalent, Activity Monitor, does not have such a simple access method (the user must
search for it in spotlight, then click on it), does not provide as much information, and instead uses
Force Quit. PC s alternate to Force Quit is a simple pop up that automatically appears when a
program stops responding, possibly saving the user much time and effort. This alternate can be
manually triggered by the user.
Furthermore, PCs

The Biggest Software Disasters
Introduction
This research paper takes a look at two of the biggest software disasters in the past decade,
Healthcare.gov website and the DIA Baggage system. In this paper, I analyze the different
engineering approaches that were used, assess the success or failure of each to draw conclusions
regarding best practices. Healthcare.gov
The Affordable Care Act also known as ObamaCare was signed into law by President Barack
Obama on
March 23, 2010 to overhaul the US healthcare system. HealthCare.gov is a health insurance
exchange website that was created as a result of this law. The objective of the website is to create a
marketplace of health insurance companies and facilitate the sale of private health insurance plans
to residents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus the Healthcare.gov is a huge complex system. Designing a complex system such as this is
quite an undertaking. A good design approach is required. A properly designed system goes a long
way to make testing easier.
Healthcare.gov Architecture
The Healthcare.gov consists of the following major components
1. A dynamic website and transaction processing application called the Federally Facilitated
Marketplace (FFM)
2. A Data Services Hub
3.A set of distributed services comprising of the new and legacy systems of many health insurance
companies and government agencies.
Figure 1. Healthcare.gov logical system architecture [1]
The FFM requirement was to interact in real time with other systems, existing federal agency
databases and online services of more 170 insurance companies doing business in the 36 states. The
data services hub allows the insurance companies to validate information provided by applicants
against information maintained in the federal agencies databases. The distributed services are the
services provided by the insurance and the government agencies through published APIs. So the
data services hub connect to all these different entities through their application programming
interfaces.
Problems
The four activities fundamental to software engineering are software specification, software
development (design and implementation), software validation and software evolution. These
activities are used

American Empire Vs Ottoman Empire
We have lost control of most of the land that used to make up the Ottoman Empire, our Empire is
falling apart; all we want to do is to keep what land we have for as long as we can. We have also
spent a great amount of money during the war and just want a chance to recover and stabilize.
We, the Ottoman Empire, prefer to end colonization, if the colonies of the European countries
were to become independent we could possibly make alliances with them to expand our
influence. We favor this idea because we believe we can become friends with these small
countries and we then can benefit and help each other. Also, we have less to fear from a Europe of
small countries than a Europe of large states. Although this would not bring back our Empire, it

Human Resource Professionals And Human Resources
Organisations of all kinds face changes in their environment, and there is a need for individuals
who are capable of turning strategy into reality. This change agent role is often located within
the Human Resource function. There are several reasons for this trend: Human resource
professionals have become business partners over the past decade, demonstrating the value they
can add to the business Leaders are looking for where the change process can best be managed
Most business strategies require major changes in people related issues, Human Resource
professionals develop and manage the key people systems needed to support organisational
change Organisations that demonstrate a flexible workforce who embrace the change will adapt
more efficiently and effectively, and therefore developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours
of the human capital is crucial. Learning and development initiatives are a key tool to encourage
this culture of life long learning, and will ultimately lead to a work force with the ability and
desire to grow and adapt with the organisation. The role of HR has changed from being a mostly
administrative role to becoming a force that helps shape company s aims and objectives. Whilst all
HR strategies should be aligned and support each other (horizontal integration), in order to provide
the best possible service all HR strategies must be aligned with organisational strategies (vertical
integration) to support the company in achieving the

Character Analysis Of Reservoir Dogs
Quentin Tarantino s 1992 movie Reservoir Dogs is a film noir that tells the story of a jewelry
store heist gone terribly wrong. This film does not follow a linear narrative; the story jumps
back and forth from present to past, gradually revealing information about the plot and the
characters. The film features six criminals who, under the aliases of Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr.
Brown, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White, are oppressed by a prohibition to mention their real
name or history. These men follow the orders of Joe Cabot and his son, Nice Guy Eddie. Reservoir
Dogsexplores what it takes to be a man and what it takes to be part of the fellowship of men.
Focusing exclusively on a gang of male criminals and tough cops, Reservoir Dogs depicts a uniform
sense of masculinity as violent, disrespectful of women, and contemptuous of weak feelings such as
empathy and trust.
Every man in this movie exhibits similar personality, language, and appearance; creating a unified
sense of manhood among them. The character of Mr. Blonde is perhaps the paragon of pure
machismo and bravado that the other criminals hope to become. Mr. Blonde is cool, calm, and
collected. He is slick, and impeccably groomed and dressed. Mr. Blonde takes both care and pride
into his appearance, but not that much. However, underneath his confident exterior, Mr. Blonde
proves to be an incredibly disturbed, violent, and psychotic human being. Using this character,
Tarantino exposes the falsehoods of

Fallacies The Wild West was a period of lawlessness of the untamed territories west of the

Indians, and most of all cowboys. In Sandra Steingraber s When Cowboys Cry she is making
comparison to the ranchers of Montana to cowboys, while comparing their situation to the Wild

Summary Of Marxist Reading Of Octavia Butler s Dawn
Marxist Reading of Octavia Butler s Dawn, Book One of the Xenogenesis Trilogy Butler s novel is
very complex and nuanced, with multiple themes and layers of meaning throughout the text. A
particularly overarching theme is that of contradictions and contrasts. One way this manifests is as
the ideological conflict between the the Oankali (the alien society in the story) human cultures, the
former being quite similar to how Karl Marxenvisioned the ideal society, (though neither he nor his
ideology is ever actually mentioned in the story).
Marxism is often and rightly criticised for being impossible to truly implement in human society
it always devolves into an oppressive regime. However, for the Oankali, this system that is, a
classless society with no government and no oppression appears to work very well. Because of
this, on the surface, Butler s story seems to simply reinforce Marxist ideals, but, as we will see, it
actually both reinforces and undermines them. Butler skillfully shows both the pros and cons of
Marxism and lets the reader make up his or her own mind.
While a Marxist like system works very well for the aliens, they themselves do not think this (or
any other system, for that matter) will work for the humans as they are. They assert that, [human]
bodies are fatally flawed and handicapped because [they] have a mismatched pair of genetic
characteristics which, without help, will destroy them (Part 1, ch. 5). What they mean is that, due

A Research Study On Adolescent Suicide Essay
Facilitating Connection and Saving Lives
The purpose of this paper is to detail a group aimed to provide support for lesbian, gay, and
bisexual (LGB) adolescents. The paper begins by examining literature related to adolescent suicide
rates, the lack of personal and community resources for teenagers, and adolescent development and
mental health. The paper will then address the methodology, purpose, and goals of the group. The
paper will address the role of the leader. He/she will utilize an Adlerian theoretical orientation and
will be involved, directive, and authentic. The leader will attempt to facilitate social relatedness and
corrective emotional experiences for group members. The paper will briefly review group
evaluation, and it will examine potential ethical/multicultural issues that this leader and group may
encounter. The paper will conclude by detailing activities that will be utilized throughout the six
weeks of the group experience.
Literature Review
Adolescent Suicide and Distress
One young person age ten to 19 takes his/her own life every 90 minutes (Gould et al. as cited in
Kitts, 2005, p. 622). Russell and Joyner revealed that adolescents who identify as gay or lesbian are
two times more likely to attempt suicide than straight adolescents (as cited in Kitts, 2005, p. 624).
The risk factor for suicide for gay and lesbian adolescents is not their sexuality, but psychosocial
distress they experience due to their sexuality (Kitts, 2005). Adolescents

The public depends on the news media for its understanding of crime. Reportedly three quarters
(76%) of the public say, they form their opinions about crime from what they see or read in the
news (Dorfman amp; Schiraldi, 2001). After reviewing five hours of reality crime television
shows, one is left with a very dismal look on society and a prejudice towards minorities as they
are largely depicted as the perpetrators of crime. This new genre commonly referred to as reality

camera being questioned about his past domestic violence charges, his inability to pay child

Of the nineteen cases reviewed, drug related crimes were more prevalent. In cases involving African
American suspects, the drug of choice was crack cocaine. In suspects that were Caucasian, the drug
of choice was methamphetamines. On the episode aired on May 5, 2005, COPS: Bad Girls, the
suspect, a Caucasian woman was selling drugs and prostituting (Langley, 2005). With the cameras
rolling, the audience is able to overhear, that the suspect is on welfare and has had her children
taken away because of her drug habit. The suspect denies the charges, and the officer insists on
making the point that she is using her welfare money in order to purchase drugs.
In the cases reviewed, the program did not divulge the age. Upon observation, the average
estimated age is twenty five. Age did not appear to have any particular correlation to the type of
criminal activity. What appeared to be more in play was the socioeconomic scale of the suspects.
The average age and circumstances seem to strike a familiar vein with the cases reviewed. On
average, the suspects were unemployed, residing with a family member, a history of violence and
drug use. This

Do you wonder why this remains to be an unsolved puzzle with autistic children? I have

Today S Chinese Characters Were Officially Established
Today s Chinese characters were officially established very recently, but they have one of the
longest histories in the world. Chinese characters have continuously developed for more than three
thousand years and finally the characters that are currently used are officially confirmed just

in 1977 by The Second Scheme of Simplified Chinese Characters . By means of simplification,
history is divided before and after the 20th century, but until 1949, when Quin dynasty to the

Moreover in Qin dynasty, especially under the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, the Small
Seal scripts were created. In the former era there were hundreds of territories. This means there were
hundreds of ways of handwritings. However, his policy was the centralization of power so he
wanted to know about all of his territories. He divided his land into 36 parts, sent his subordinates to
each part, and made them record the information about the lands in order to grasp the width,
population, or products. His subordinates recorded about each lands in their originally simplified
characters and sometimes the emperor had difficulty in reading them. So in order to rule the
country efficiently, less complex scripts were adopted officially. Unification of writing system
meant consolidation of power, especially that writing is used I taxation, trade exchange, day to day

A Summary Of Phaseolus
Abstract
The sclerenchyma ring in the stem of Phaseolus lunatus, commonly known as lima bean, was
measured in relation to the wavelength of light they were grown in (650, 475 nm). It was
hypothesized that wavelength of light affects plant growth. It was predicted that plants grown when
exposed to red light (650 nm) would grow taller and therefore have thicker sclerenchyma cell rings
. The results of the t test failed to support both the hypothesis and prediction (P = 0.444599). When
compared to other studies, this experiment appears to have skewed data; therefore, although the
hypothesis was rejected, there is still evidence supporting the concept of a full spectrum of light is
essential for proper plant development.

difference. This suggest that the higher energy blue light might simply be received better by the
plants in his study allowing for an increase in energy production allowing more growth. It is
possible that our hypothesis was rejected due to human error, as when estimating the space the
sclerenchyma tissue took up or even a mechanical over sight such as a low wattage bulbs
simulating growth in low light conditions. That being said it was found that plants grown in low
light conditions would have a smaller mass: length ratio than those grown in a full spectrum
(Magda et al. 2006). This would actual support our findings for the specified conditions being that
even if a plant did grow taller it may not develop more tissue because of the low light

Analysis Of Human Action And Interaction In The Knife Thrower
Human action and reaction are heavily based on what we experience and how we interoperate
those experiences. The Knife Thrower is a short story written by Steven Millhauser that focuses on
three major concepts of human action and reaction. The story follows an audience of people as
they watch an anticipating show of a knife thrower and his dangerous tricks. In the story, The Knife
Thrower, Millhauser focuses on three major concepts of humanaction; how humansact amongst a
group of people, how humans act when trust is built between two individuals, and how humans act
when they witness pain and death in regards to the human body. The first concept that is focused on
within this short storyis the way humans act when they are amongst a group of people. When
amongst a group of people, Millhauser s work shows that humans are quick to follow each other
and they create a herd mentality. An important literary concept Millhauser uses to his advantage
to express this is the use of first person narration. Millhauser uses words such as we and us to
group together not only the audience s feelings and thoughts but also the readers. This is done so
strategically to present this first concept of how people herd together in groups during times of
hesitation. The first way this is shown is when the audience has the opportunity to volunteer to
receive the mark from the master (6). Everyone is extremely hesitant and looking at each other for
some sort of direction on how to react. A

Effects Of Racial Profiling
Racial Profiling Have you ever wondered what goes on in other places, with other people, and
with other races? Racial Profiling is a form of discrimination and should not be used against any
person because it leads to racism, its infective and the freedom of people is more important than the
National Security itself.
Most racial profiling leads to racial profiling towards others. Research psychologists have also
examined the effects of racial profiling on broader society and have learned that societal effects
include confirmation of feelings of racism, fear and financial costs (Effects). When racial profiling
is used it harms most civilians that are not terrorists. Even though the National Security wasn t
supposed to use this until the twin towers were bombed on 9/11/2001, it still offends other races.

Similarities Between Walking Dead And Game Of Thrones
Walking Dead and Game of Thrones The two television shows which I ve chosen for this subject
matter are the walking dead and game of thrones. The walking dead: The primary protagonist of
the movie is the deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes who has been shot and while he wakes up he finds
himself in a put up apocalyptic international wherein zombies are anywhere. He gets out on a
look for his wife and son and reunites with them later. He finds out that there are numerous
survivors much like him who should combat every other and the zombies to live on. It s a tv
series and maximum of the places shown in this series are out within the surroundings and the
whole lot seems like a damage. The roads have cracks in them and there are deserted places. The
survivors take refuge in a camp out of doors the metropolis. There are several burned cars and
burned vehicles which are proven on the road. The locations and the environment complement
every other. The locations were made about appearance as though they re run by zombies. They
had been sensible and with a touch of truth. Zombies are seen ingesting flesh amidst desolated
places and dead our bodies. The rooms that are presented in a comedy collection use vibrant
colorations to bring shade to the show. Furthermore, the rooms used in a comedy collection aren t
realistic and one gets the effect as although they may be human made sets. An example which may
be given in this regard is that of large bang theory. Big Bang theory is a comedy

Qualities of an Archetypal Hero Essay
Heroes are seen all around us, in life, literature, and movies. Heroes like Superman, Captain
America, and Thor are common, but have you ever thought of Luke Skywalker as an archetypal
hero? Luke Skywalker is an aspiring young Jedi Knight, who is called to the quest of defeating the
empire in the movie Star WarsIV: A New Hope, written and directed by George Lucas. Luke
Skywalkerdemonstrates certain characteristics before, during, and after his quest that makes him an

Once the world has been restored and the hero has completed and succeeded in his quest a

presented to the hero for their cunning abilities and bravery. Luke Skywalker along with Han Solo

that has occurred within him. The characteristics of a hero archetype changes before and after his

The Rise of the Creative Class Essay
In the information economy, creative content is a nation s most important natural resource. The
wealth creation in an economy of ideas is dependent on the capacity of a nation to continually
create content or new forms of widely distributed expression, for which they will need to invest in
creative human capitalthroughout the economy and not merely gadgets and hardware. (Venturelli

Successful societies will draw on as many citizens as possible to participate, demystifying the
notion of artist as a creative genius who works independently in an art laboratory, and then gives his
gift to the world. This will cause growing pains and ego smashing at first, but once the creative class
has digested this idea, they will begin to see themselves working in an interdependent
environmental infosphere that has the same requirements as the natural environment of balance,
diversity, and interaction. Of course every sector of society can contribute to the growth of the
creative sector.
Some Important Terms: The Marketplace of Ideas v. The Mental Environment
In order to understand the Information Economy more clearly we need a new set of terms. Instead
of referring to The Marketplace of Ideas with its foundation in Adam Smith s economic philosophy
we should instead be moving towards the concept of the Mental Environment . The former is a
remnant of the industrial revolution, where streamlining and automation are benefits. Even more
anachronistically, this model is based on laws of supply and demand which don t appropriately
describe the cultural industries.

from this trend. Under the Societal Marketing Concept organizations have to balance company
profits, customers wants and the society s interests. The problem is to determine what is best for
the society in this case. Because there is a difference between short term consumers wants and long
term consumers welfare (Brown, 2005). This issue can be very hard to handle, because it is not all

acquiring information regarding the availability of GIS datasets and related properties such as
quality, description, the point of contact, extent, etc. The audience for the project are the internal

Similarities Between New York City And Annie Hall
Location as identity, the absurdity and necessity of love, as well as individual perception of one s

film, Annie Hall.
New York city is Alvy Singer, while Los Angeles is Annie Hall. Woody Allen identifies the main
characters with their geographical locations throughout the film. Native to the city, Alvy is a
pessimistic, neurotic, death obsessed, socially cold, yet highly intellectual, Jewish comedian who
fails to succeed in love. Alvy s character symbolizes the life, culture, intellect and energy of the
city he calls home. New York is the main characters comfort zone, and when he is not there his
nervous idiosyncrasies are evident. The location identifies as the antithesis of what Alvy perceives
Los Angeles to be, a superficial cultureless void. It is apparent to the audience that Alvy thinks

Got Milk? An AnalysisGot Milk? is perhaps one of the greatest marketing taglines ever. It has
become practically ingrained in our culture since its debut in 1993. Milk is not a very high

The best slogans, San Diego State University marketing professor George Belch says, don t require
consumers to do too much thinking, but they shouldn t be blanket statements, either. Got Milk? is
not only simple, but it motivates the consumer. The message is: always have milk around. The
Got Milk? campaign did it with humor and suddenly it became cool to drink milk. What helped
push it even further was using the celebrity cachet. By utilizing that, awareness of drinking milk
has increased by 90% since its early 90 s launch. The ad company got famous athletes, comedians,
pop stars, game show hosts, and even cartoon characters sporting milk mustaches with a healthy

Analysis Of The Piece, No Name Woman By Maxine Hong Kingston
The role of the woman has said to serve a humble and very significant aspect in tradition and
ritualistic beliefs in Chinese culture in pre modern times. Traditionally, woman were to stay loyal
to the man they were married to and were required, by custom, to stay in the household of the in
laws as a sign of respect to the family. We consider the words loyalty, respect, and submission a
numerous amount of times when analyzing the women s role and how it pertains to Chinese
culture when we read about it in articles, newspapers, and novels. In the piece, No Name Woman,
Maxine Hong Kingstoninsists on clarifying the ignorant notion that women were always
acquiescent to the word of the man. Kingston reflects on her adolescent fascination about the aunt
she never knew by engaging in heavy discussion to examine the for that not all women shared those
values. Using the story of a speculated aunt that the narrator was told she had by her mother,
Kingston asserts that even if the story of her aunt may not be factual, the message of the piece is to
communicate that women were both obedient and strictly submissive in Chinese culture.
The characterization of the female roles in the text is used to assert that the narrator not only
possesses a compliant behavior toward her father, but also engages in defiant acts to analyze the
similarities between her and her speculated aunt. In the piece, Kingston describes how the aunt was
oppressed by social obligations of being a woman, where as

provides opportunities to businesses especially in developing countries to access to the global

solids, there for has to be assisted to feed and chooses only to consume liquids. Her
communication skills are also poor and doesn t have the capacity to engage in a flowing
conversation but has the ability to answer a question using the words yes or no or by saying
individual words. I was given the task of feeding the patient at lunch time as she requires one to one
support at meal times due to her lack of willingness to consume solids and fluids. It is extremely
important to maintain good fluid intake to reduce the chance of dehydration which could contribute
to increased confusion in a dementia patient. To prevent this, ... Show more content on

I chatted in general conversation with her to give her sufficient time to digest her intake then
offered her further fluids to which she stated no more . Satisfied she had had enough, I removed her
apron and directed her to the lounge area and then discussed the task with my mentor.
Feelings/thoughts
Before I started this task I felt slightly anxious as it was the first time I had supported this patient
on a one to one basis. I was unsure of how she would react to me as I was an unfamiliar face to
her in relation to her feeding and I had previously witnessed her being very verbally aggressive,
trying to leave her chair and showing signs of frustration during meal times with other trained,
experienced staff on the ward. Throughout the task I felt my confidence increased as the patient
was fairly compliant with what I was trying to achieve, this made me become more relaxed and
less anxious which I feel eased the mood of the whole experience. After completing the task I felt
satisfied that I had achieved what was required whilst undertaking a person centred personalised
approach to meet the needs of the patient.
Evaluation
I felt that I achieved the desired outcome which was to ensure the patient consumed an adequate
volume of fluids during meal time whilst promoting a person centred approach to their care as I
ensured the patient enjoyed

Symptoms And Changes Of Depression
Depression is a mood disorder characterized by pervasive sadness and psychophysiological
changes like changes in sleep patterns, sexual desires, loss of pleasure in previously enjoyed things,
and even suicidal thoughts (Belmaker Agam, 2008, p. 55). Its rise in prevalence in Western society
means that students with depressionor depressive symptoms are more common in our schools. The
students experience difficulty in motivation and self esteem, and depression is often comorbid with
disorders like ADHD, anxiety, and learning disabilities. This means that students need additional
support in classrooms, and depression is very treatable with cognitive behavioral therapies.
Body
Increasing awareness of mental disorders like anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, eating
disorders, and PTSD, has increased public dialog about these disorders. Currently the World
Health Organization estimates that by 2020 depression will be the 2nd highest cause of
morbidity, poor health or diseased state, worldwide (Popa, 2012, p. 414). In this paper, I will
discuss the history of depression, its presence in classrooms, and how schools and teachers can
support the well being and success of their depressed students.
One of the biggest shifts in recognizing mental disorders like depression as real and dangerous
disorders was the suicide of Robin Williams, who struggled with severe depression and anxiety
related to Parkinson s disease ( Robin Williams , 2015). And while later evidence links the cause of

Incentive Spirometry Case Study
Mrs. Cook, a 65 year old female, came to the hospital for a hernia repair. She is relatively healthy.
Her medical history includes asthma due to a history of smoking but states she quit about 5 years
ago. When Mrs. Cook arrived to the surgical unit she is complaining of moderate to severe pain.
Laura, her registered nurse, medicated Mrs. Cook and oriented her to her room. After 30 minutes,
Laura decided the patient is comfortable and awake enough to teach her how to use the incentive
spirometer. Laura explained to Mrs. Cook that using the incentive spirometer will help open up her
lungs so that she does not develop complications such as pneumonia causing a longer stay in the
hospital. It also provides her body with oxygen which promotes healing and helps to clear her
lungs and body from the anesthesia. Laura informed Mrs. Cook that her doctor has ordered her
to do these breathing exercises 10 times every hour while awake. Mrs. Cook followed Laura s
instruction and made a tight seal around the mouth piece. She took a couple of small quick
inhalations which barely registered on the incentive spirometer but did stimulate a cough.
Naturally, the cough caused severe pain to her abdomen. She sneered at Laura with a look of
questioning, why are you making me hurt myself? Laura gave her a pillow... Show more content on

At the bottom of Zappos homepage they have an easy to spot Connect with Us header with the following social media channels icons: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, their own blog, and Instagram. Instagram has a bigger icon and call out to follow Zappos on Instagram. Their Facebook page has 1,999,074 likes and is updated daily. Their website is easy to navigate, informative, up to date, and eye catching but the only way to contact them is in person at a store, by phone, or through their customer inquiries page. A consumer may not have the patience to resolve an issue or send an inquiry if it s not almost instantly responded to. That s one important aspect of social media channels, the almost simultaneous interaction and sense of being heard immediately. One may argue that they don t need any social media presence since they ve been doing well so far but with the growing number of consumers using social media channels, I would advise them to start at least two channels. I feel that a Twitter and Facebook channel would be the best places to start. They would be able to target a wide array of audiences through these channels. To start, they could link their Facebook and Twitter accounts allowing them to post on one site and have it be seen on the other. Gradually they could start crafting Twitter specific tweets and unlink their Facebook and Twitter channels. They already release an e newsletter and I feel that the language, recipes, products, etc. would be easy to post or tweet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I belive this because plagerism is defined as teh practice of taking somone else s work or ideas and passing them off as one s own. In other words plagerism is an act of fraud. In the text Miguel ask Alyssa to tellhim the anwers to questions on the test. This means that the answers Miguel provideson his test are not his own and by definition are plagerized. I believe that Miguel and Alyssa are at fault for plagerizm. I believe this because the following took place in the text, Miguel asked Alyssa for the answers and Alyssa moved her arm so that Miguel could see her paper. • 4. Peer Pressure In Shooting An Elephant By George Orwell Most people believe that others have authority and control over their own actions. However, contrary to belief, authority controls people s actions. Peer pressure can have an effect on the decisions people make. In this short story, the policeman (the protagonist) is hated by the majority of people in the city of Moulmein. He is hated because he is secretly on the Burmese people s side instead of the British. Along with conflict of the British and Burmese people, an elephant escapes and causes chaos throughout the city. It is killing people and destroying buildings. The policeman decides to step in and help, but he is faced with the peer pressure of the crowd to killan elephant that he has no intention in killing. The protagonist is faced with lying to other people and regret for his actions. In, Shooting an Elephant George Orwellexplains how the policeman struggles between the decisions of shooting an elephant to please the authoritarian crowd that can treat him better and accept him. When the policeman decides to help the people of Moulmein, in lower Burma, he lets them believe his gun is going to be used to shoot the elephant, because of the presser the crowd puts on him. The protagonist struggles throughout life due to the fact that most people despise him. The text states that, I was hated by large numbers of people the only time in my life that I have been important enough for this to happen to me, (17). The people have the authority over the hatred that is directed towards the protagonist. They control if he is accepted or outcasted. The policeman was looking for a way not to be hated, so he decides to help with chaos that the elephant has created. He grabs his gun and then is confronted with a crowd that normally would have no interest in him. For example, They had seen the rifle and were all shouting excitedly that I was going to shoot the elephant, (19). The magical rifle in his hands makes him seem worth paying attention to. This is because the policeman can shoot the elephant and give the people what they want. The protagonist was not intending to shoot the elephant so, he did not tell the crowd that he was going to use the rifle for protection. This may be because, he was looking for a ... These abnormalities are diverse and can appear as subtle, clinically inconsequential myocardial changes but also as severe changes which could be associated with the development of heart failure leading to death. Often times, it is difficult to determine whether cardiac abnormalities that persist after the treatment and resolution of hyperthyroidism are the result of the hyperthyroidism or a primary cardiac disease1 . • 9. Mac Vs Pc Research Paper Admittedly, Macs were in the market first, and initially were much better than PCs. But it s time to realize the future of home computing: the PC. Although Macs are not completely useless, PCs dominate the world of computers with a better user interface, cheaper price, and better internal workings. These advantages far outweigh any little extra features that a Mac might have. First of all, PCs have a better user interface. While Mac users have always boasted of having a computer with a clean, modern look, this changed with Windows Vista, released on January 30, 2007. Windows Vista has translucent window bars, a search bar on the start menu, and tabs on the bottom of the screen, as well as introducing a feature in which users can scroll ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another factor to ponder is that PCs have more RAM, or random access memory. RAM is memory that programs that are running use actively. Less RAM means programs run slower, so having more RAM is definitely a plus. Windows launches applications faster than Macs, and Windows is far better at 3 D rendering (required for most modern games) (itok.net). Compatibility is definitely a major issue. PC s are compatible with Xbox 360, the top selling console of 2011 (winrumors.com), Linux, and Windows 7 has something called XP mode. XP mode allows the PC user to run Windows XP on their Windows 7. PCs are also more compatible with TVs/big screens, because most Macs require an adapter (www.itok.net). Another topic to think about is the Windows Task Manager. The Windows Task Manager allows you access with a quick shortcut (CTRL SHIFT ESC or CTRL ALT DELETE) to close unresponsive or frozen programs, or to monitor threads, CPU usage, network usages, users, and background processes. Mac s equivalent, Activity Monitor, does not have such a simple access method (the user must search for it in spotlight, then click on it), does not provide as much information, and instead uses Force Quit. PC s alternate to Force Quit is a simple pop up that automatically appears when a program stops responding, possibly saving the user much time and effort. This alternate can be manually triggered by the user. Furthermore, PCs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper, I analyze the different engineering approaches that were used, assess the success or failure of each to draw conclusions regarding best practices. Healthcare.gov The Affordable Care Act also known as ObamaCare was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010 to overhaul the US healthcare system. A properly designed system goes a long way to make testing easier. Healthcare.gov Architecture The Healthcare.gov consists of the following major components 1. A dynamic website and transaction processing application called the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) 2. A Data Services Hub 3.A set of distributed services comprising of the new and legacy systems of many health insurance companies and government agencies. Figure 1. Healthcare.gov logical system architecture [1] The FFM requirement was to interact in real time with other systems, existing federal agency databases and online services of more 170 insurance companies doing business in the 36 states. The data services hub allows the insurance companies to validate information provided by applicants against information maintained in the federal agencies databases. The distributed services are the services provided by the insurance and the government agencies through published APIs. Human Resource Professionals And Human Resources Organisations of all kinds face changes in their environment, and there is a need for individuals who are capable of turning strategy into reality. This change agent role is often located within the Human Resource function. There are several reasons for this trend: Human resource professionals have become business partners over the past decade, demonstrating the value they can add to the business Leaders are looking for where the change process can best be managed Most business strategies require major changes in people related issues, Human Resource professionals develop and manage the key people systems needed to support organisational change Organisations that demonstrate a flexible workforce who embrace the change will adapt more efficiently and effectively, and therefore developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours of the human capital is crucial. • 13. Character Analysis Of Reservoir Dogs Quentin Tarantino s 1992 movie Reservoir Dogs is a film noir that tells the story of a jewelry store heist gone terribly wrong. This film does not follow a linear narrative; the story jumps back and forth from present to past, gradually revealing information about the plot and the characters. The film features six criminals who, under the aliases of Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Brown, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White, are oppressed by a prohibition to mention their real name or history. These men follow the orders of Joe Cabot and his son, Nice Guy Eddie. Reservoir Dogsexplores what it takes to be a man and what it takes to be part of the fellowship of men. Focusing exclusively on a gang of male criminals and tough cops, Reservoir Dogs depicts a uniform sense of masculinity as violent, disrespectful of women, and contemptuous of weak feelings such as empathy and trust. Every man in this movie exhibits similar personality, language, and appearance; creating a unified sense of manhood among them. The character of Mr. Blonde is perhaps the paragon of pure machismo and bravado that the other criminals hope to become. Mr. Blonde is cool, calm, and collected. He is slick, and impeccably groomed and dressed. Mr. Blonde takes both care and pride into his appearance, but not that much. However, underneath his confident exterior, Mr. Blonde proves to be an incredibly disturbed, violent, and psychotic human being. Using this character, Tarantino exposes the falsehoods of ... • 16. Summary Of Marxist Reading Of Octavia Butler s Dawn Marxist Reading of Octavia Butler s Dawn, Book One of the Xenogenesis Trilogy Butler s novel is very complex and nuanced, with multiple themes and layers of meaning throughout the text. A particularly overarching theme is that of contradictions and contrasts. One way this manifests is as the ideological conflict between the the Oankali (the alien society in the story) human cultures, the former being quite similar to how Karl Marxenvisioned the ideal society, (though neither he nor his ideology is ever actually mentioned in the story). Marxism is often and rightly criticised for being impossible to truly implement in human society it always devolves into an oppressive regime. However, for the Oankali, this system that is, a classless society with no government and no oppression appears to work very well. Because of this, on the surface, Butler s story seems to simply reinforce Marxist ideals, but, as we will see, it actually both reinforces and undermines them. Butler skillfully shows both the pros and cons of Marxism and lets the reader make up his or her own mind. While a Marxist like system works very well for the aliens, they themselves do not think this (or any other system, for that matter) will work for the humans as they are. They assert that, [human] bodies are fatally flawed and handicapped because [they] have a mismatched pair of genetic characteristics which, without help, will destroy them (Part 1, ch. 5). An important literary concept Millhauser uses to his advantage to express this is the use of first person narration. This is done so strategically to present this first concept of how people herd together in groups during times of hesitation. Similarities Between New York City And Annie Hall Location as identity, the absurdity and necessity of love, as well as individual perception of one s past are all recognized as complex ideas portrayed throughout the nonlinear storyline of the 1977 film, Annie Hall. New York city is Alvy Singer, while Los Angeles is Annie Hall. Woody Allen identifies the main characters with their geographical locations throughout the film. Native to the city, Alvy is a pessimistic, neurotic, death obsessed, socially cold, yet highly intellectual, Jewish comedian who fails to succeed in love. Alvy s character symbolizes the life, culture, intellect and energy of the city he calls home. New York is the main characters comfort zone, and when he is not there his nervous idiosyncrasies are evident. The location identifies as the antithesis of what Alvy perceives Los Angeles to be, a superficial cultureless void. Milk is not a very high interest item in people s lives. It s a staple, said Jeff Goodby, creator of the slogan. Although milk is not new, not improved, and generally considered boring, the Got Milk? ads are stunningly effective because of its simplicity, use of celebrities, and broad audience reach. The best slogans, San Diego State University marketing professor George Belch says, don t require consumers to do too much thinking, but they shouldn t be blanket statements, either. Got Milk? is not only simple, but it motivates the consumer. The message is: always have milk around. The Got Milk? campaign did it with humor and suddenly it became cool to drink milk. What helped push it even further was using the celebrity cachet. By utilizing that, awareness of drinking milk has increased by 90% since its early 90 s launch. This paper will discuss how BG Robin Olds was a visionary leader, but not a very ethical leader. From the beginning of his career, he was a visionary in aerial combat tactics and a true believer of leading from the front. His vision of aerial combat was beyond his years, but often fell upon deaf ears due to his flamboyant nature. He never hesitated to say exactly what was on his mind, which is why his actions could be considered unethical. But, his men loved him, and would follow him to hell and back. Olds displayed intellectual humility, as a part of his critical thinking skills, to change the current thinking of using the highest ranking individual as flight lead, versus putting the pilot with the most experience in that position...it should be based off skill, not rank. Even being the Wing Commander, Olds often wore a flight suit without rank, and let his lower ranking, more qualified officers lead the mission (badass, 2012). He fostered inclusive environments by putting the whole wing under the same 24 hour clock as the combat crews, and visited the support organizations to find out the true problems and help fix them (Boyne, 2008).
