Essay My Class
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay My Class" presents a unique set of challenges, as it
requires a delicate balance between personal reflection and objective analysis. The difficulty lies
in articulating one's thoughts and experiences within the confines of a structured essay format
while ensuring that the content remains engaging for the reader.
Firstly, delving into the personal aspect can be challenging, as it demands a level of introspection
that may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Revealing personal anecdotes, experiences, and
sentiments about one's class involves navigating the fine line between sincerity and oversharing.
Striking the right tone is crucial to maintaining the essay's credibility while still capturing the
reader's interest.
On the other hand, maintaining objectivity is equally challenging. Balancing personal anecdotes
with broader observations about the class dynamic requires careful consideration. It's easy to
veer into subjective opinions, and finding the right evidence or examples to support general
statements about the class can be a meticulous task.
Structuring the essay is another hurdle to overcome. Creating a coherent flow that seamlessly
connects personal experiences with broader themes about the class necessitates meticulous
planning. Ensuring that each paragraph contributes to the overall narrative while adhering to the
prescribed essay structure demands a high level of organizational skill.
Moreover, avoiding clichГ©s and ensuring originality in expressing thoughts about the class adds
an extra layer of complexity. It's a constant battle to present ideas in a fresh and unique manner,
steering clear of common phrases or sentiments that might dilute the essay's impact.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "Essay My Class" requires a delicate balance
between personal reflection and objective analysis. Navigating the challenges of introspection,
maintaining objectivity, structuring the essay effectively, and ensuring originality are all
formidable tasks. However, overcoming these obstacles can lead to a compelling narrative that
provides valuable insights into the dynamics of the class.

Example Of A Femme Fatale
A femme fatale, a French term for fatal woman (Schimkowitz, 2014), is a strong
willed, manipulative woman who is as alluring as she is dangerous. She is an
irresistibly attractive woman who leads a man into difficult and dangerous situations
with her seductive charms (Blakely, 2014). They used to be physically characterized
as fierce sexing looking women with sharp eyeliners. This female archetype has been
in existence since ancient times all around the world.
The first example of a femme fatale in this paper is Veda Pierce (Ann Blyth) in
Mildred Pierce, which was released in 1945, when many American soldiers
returned from World War II. During the WWII period, women were the main
providers for their families while American men were at war, which led to
increase independent American women. Mildred Pierce, the mother of Veda, is
one of the strong women who is working hard to support herself and her children.
In contrast to her mother s effort, Veda takes advantage of her mother s kindness
and money. She also betrays her by having an affair with Monte Beragon, who is
already married to her mother. Veda has the looks and knows how to use her looks
to attract men. And she is so ambitious that she does anything in order to get the most
important thing to her which is money to live the high class life. Ultimately, a femme
fatale leads the male into ruin. Veda fulfills this characteristic of the femme fatale by
shooting Monte to death when he denies that he is going to marry her.
Social Commentary On The Great Gatsby
Social Commentary of The Great Gatsby
Great wealth cannot transform who you truly are. In the novel of The Great Gatsby,
Jay Gatsby is the protagonist who is astonishingly wealthy and romantic.
Nonetheless, due to the self extravagance in luxury and corruption of moral values,
the collapsing society in the 1920 s leads Gatsby and his American Dream into
destruction. Through a Marxist lens, the character s belief influences the society by
the character s ideology of social stratification, how characters adjust themselves to
accept the materialistic ideology settled by the bourgeoisie, and the result of
dialectical materialism. The idea that any American who works hard can achieve
financial success and even overcome the class distinction exists ... Show more content

When George Wilson lost his wife Myrtle by a car accident, Tom s words
motivates George to murder Gatsby and kill himself. However, the situation is full
of lies: There was nothing I [Nick] could say, except the one utterable fact that it
wasn t true (170). Right after the accident, George becomes deranged enough to
murder Tom, and Tom is unaware of the fact that it is Daisy who ran over Myrtle.
However, the fact that the Buchanans manipulate George to make Gatsby the
victim portrays the hierarchical society. The Buchanans, who are the bourgeoisies,
are able to cover up Daisy s crime through George, who represents one of the
proletariat that achieves interpellation, and through Gatsby s sacrifice. Moreover,
the Buchanans represent the internally corrupting life of the very rich in the 1920
s: They were careless people, Tom and Daisy they smash up things and creatures
and then retreated back into their money (170). The life of the Old Money is what
people dream of. It is a life as the highest state of the social hierarchy in America,
which are people who inherit the advantages to get elite education and wealth.
Despite how luxurious their society looks from the outside, they are people full of
dishonest, lacking of moral values due to self extravagance in luxury. Just as the
Buchanans did, they would use their wealth to cover up what they have done, and
provide the image people to believe in, in order to create a victim that will in hold
their crime. This in this case is Jay Gatsby. Society often denies reality and believe in
the image the bourgeoisies create to comfort themselves, but make another victim of
the society

Unfair Advantage: Testing the Advantage of Being Attractive in the Workforce The
Halo Effect is the cognitive bias that generalizes that if an individual has one

The two applicants will vary in attractiveness. Attractiveness will be determined by
the averageness of a face; the more attractive face will be a compilation of the
average of various facial features common to the Anglo Saxon genetic disposition.
Studies of compilations of average facial traits show that we have a biological
preference for the average phenotype because we believe it indicates evolutionary
resilient, fertile genotypes (Langlois, Roggman, 1990.) The other profile will be
composed of a person with facial features that deviate from the average (example:
wide set eyes, etc.) and as a result are found less attractive.
After evaluating both profiles, the employers would be asked to complete a brief
questionnaire that asks them the following: 1) Which of the two employees they
would hire if they had a consultant spot to fill, and 2) To estimate the undergraduate

Expected Results and Discussion The number of employees choosing the attractive

The Crucible, The Lord Of The Flies, And The Book Thief
Expository Seminar Presentation Good afternoon everyone, I m Jordan Zelenak
and today I m here to talk to you about how my past 5 years of English study have
affected my overall attitudes values and beliefs. Although English isn t my best
subject nor the most enjoyable, I can t deny that it has been extremely valuable
when it came to teaching key attitudes and beliefs and reinforcing ones which
already existed. To highlight this, I have selected the play, The Crucible, the movie,
The Lord of the Flies, and the novel, The book Thief. For each I will analyse how
each have affected my attitudes values and beliefs, how each have affected how I
view the world and how each successfully use impactful aesthetic devices. The

The study of the crucible also allowed me to learn of the struggles of puritan
lifestyle and how their Witch Trials which killed numerous innocent lives were
extremely similar to the McCarthy hearings of the 1950 s. It allowed me to realise
how the Puritan lifestyle was extremely strict as the government was intertwined
with the church and religious beliefs meaning questioning officials was deemed as
questioning their religion their society was based on. The witch trials also
allowed me to gain an understanding of the McCarthy hearings as during these trials
people were wrongly accused of being communist spies forcing them to lose their
job and tarnishing their reputation in the process. As is evident the study of the
crucible has also helped me to learn about the time and era the play was set as well
as the tragedy of the McCarthy trials from which it was based. The crucible also
demonstrated aesthetic devices that are memorable to me even though I studied it
a year ago. The most notable aesthetic device which I can recall is during Giles
Corey s execution by weighted stones. As stones were placed on top of a board
placed on his chest he was asked one final time to respond to the charges that were
falsely placed against him however his last words were More Weight which in turn
killed him as the sheer weight crushed his body. In this scene the weight symbolises
Plate Tectonics, And The World
Plate Tectonics,
And their relation to the world.

By Jillian Abreu
There are many ways that earthquakes, plate boundaries, volcanoes, seafloor
spreading, the Earth s core, convection currents, and subduction connect to each
other, but the main way they are all connected is by plate tectonics. It all starts with
plate tectonics. A theory by Alfred Wagner said that Pangaea, which is a land mass of
all the continents combined, had been moved by continental drift to form the
positions our continents are in now. This led to the theory of plate tectonics. This
theory stated that pieces of the Earth s lithosphere are in slow, but constant motion,
driven by convection currents in the mantle. A reason that backed up this theory was

The mantle is one of many layers of the Earth s core. As you can see from the
picture on the left, the first layer is the Earth s crust, which compared to earth, is
like a sheet of paper wrapped around a basket ball. The next layer is the lithosphere.
This layer is broken into plates, better known as the tectonic plates mentioned
earlier. The asthenosphere comes next, which is weak compared to the lithosphere.
Since the layer is hotter, the layer is more soft. As we get closer to the center, we
look at the mantle. The mantle is made of thick, solid rock. The next layer is the
outer core. This core contains of liquid magma with much iron and nickel. Lastly,
there is the inner core. This layer is so hot that the heat melts metal ores into liquid
magma. In this mantle, there are convection currents. Heat from the core causes
convection currents to slowly move the Earth s crust around. All over the crust s
surface, crust is destroyed, and reformed. All plate boundaries movements are moved
by convection currents in the mantle. At the boundaries between plates, magma is
able to force its way to the surface and escape as lava. There are three different types
of plate boundaries known as convergent, divergent, and transform.
Convergent Divergent Transform
As you can see, with convergent plate boundaries, they
Monetary Policy And Analysis Of Nash Equilibria

This essay deals with the economic and financial aspects, why Mr Mario Draghi is
willing to make use of Quantitative Easing, as well as pointing out the potential
advantages and disadvantages of this monetary policy and analysis of Nash Equilibria.

The main objective of Mario Draghi is to inject money directly into the euro zone
economy; hopefully this will boost the economies in the Eurozone if the target of 2%
inflation is met. Essentially, if the inflation rate is above 2%, then the Bank will have
to reduce the pace of spending and decrease the inflation in order to maintain the 2%
criteria. In comparison, if the inflation is below the minimum percentage, it decreases
the bank rate to the extent of boost of inflation and spending.
Conversely, on behalf of a member of the ECB board of governors, applying
quantitative easing within the Eurozone is seen as a very unbalanced approach,
unbalanced approach in terms of effecting financial activities and may be beneficial
for some countries in the Eurozone. Nevertheless, the Germans may see
Quantitative Easing as an ineffective monetary policy regarding that, if the
European Central Bank (ECB) purchase governments or corporate bonds from high
debt countries then the German taxpayers will face a risk of having to foot the bill.
This occurs if one or more of these countries default on their debt. Also, it will create
a loss on the balance sheet of the ECB. The other member countries in the euro zone,
especially Germany, will then have to step in to cover the loss (De Grauwe, 2015).
Mario Draghi believes that the programme of bond buying is an important financial
approach to circumvent the Eurozone from a deflationary situation. Whereas, the

Boeing Apache Paper
Apache
The Boeing AH 64 Apache is one of the most advanced attack helicopters in the
world. It has been in service since 1986 in the US Army. It fills multiple combat
roles in different configurations, and is commonly used as an anti armor aircraft,
or to support friendly infantry. It was originally designed to replace the AH 1
Cobra, and has since been upgraded and adapted to the Apache Longbow. The
Apache longbow is equipped with two 1,994 horsepower engines, which power it s
four bladed rotor, allowing it to reach speeds of over 180 mph, making it faster than
nearly all military helicopters. The Apache carries very advanced sensory arrays

Its main gun is an M230 chain gun, which fires 30mm rounds at a rate of 625 rounds
per minute. It can hold a maximum of 1200 of these rounds. Instead of being a
traditional machine gun and using expanding gas or recoil to fire the gun, it uses a
2 hp electric engine to actuate the bolt. Just to load this gun, ground crews have to
have access to specialized machinery to load and clean this weapon because of its
impressive size and electronic systems. But the Apache doesn t just have its gun. It
can mount up to 16 Hellfire missiles, each of which is capable at blowing up a tank
by itself, at ranges of over 4.5 miles. These missiles are radar or laser guided, and
lock onto targets, allowing a pilot to fire and forget . Hellfires are extremely
effective against armored vehicles, and have been adapted to use in other roles.
Apaches can also carry Hydra 70 rocket pods on its weapon pylons. These are thin,
long, unguided air to surface rockets that carry a 10 pound explosive warhead. These
are mostly used against infantry or lightly armored vehicles such as Jeep style
vehicles. All together, the armament used with the Apache is extremely effective in
its anti armor

Black Feminism s Speech At The Ohio Women s Rights...
If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down
all alone, these together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right side up again.
This is from abolitionist and women s rights activist Sojourner Truth s speech at the
Ohio Women s Rights Convention in 1851. This is probably the most relevant
messages that feminist everywhere can follow behind. Feminismis simply the
advocacy of equality of sexes social, political, and economic, but until this can
happen you have to address race and class oppression among other inequalities.
This is the reason why the idea of black feminism was introduced. Coined by
KimberlГ© Crenshaw in 1989, black feminism argues that the experience of being a
black woman cannot be understood in terms of being black or of being a woman.
Black feminism became popular in the 1960s, in response to the sexism of the
Civil Rights Movement and racism of the feminist movement. From the 1970s to
1980s, black feminists formed various groups which addressed the role of black
women in black nationalism, gay liberation, and second wave feminism. In the
1990s, the Anita Hill controversy placed black feminism in a mainstream light.
Black feminist theories reached a wider audience in the 2010s, as a result of social
media advocacy (Crenshaw).
Hip hop feminism is loosely defined as young feminists born after 1964 who
approach the political community with a mixture of feminist and hip hop
sensibilities. It shares many similarities

Abraham Lincoln was conceived in a log lodge in Hardin County, Kentucky to

Detecting Autism In Toddlers
Abstract
This paper considers the problem of detecting autism in toddlers at an age early
enough to allow for timely intervention. It begins with an overview of Autism
Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and explains the importance of early screening for such
disorders. It then outlines a range of possible screening techniques, before focusing
on the most prominent of these, the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M
CHAT). The paper explains the origins of M CHAT, how it works, and what its
results have been so far. It also considers an important question guiding
contemporary research on M CHAT, namely the appropriate age range at which M
CHAT is to be administered. The paper concludes with a consideration of the

and practicality. It aims to detect ASDs early in toddlers and utilizes a parental
questionnaire involving twenty three questions, six of which are designated as
critical. The latter refer to protodeclarative pointing, response to name, interest in
peers, bringing things to show a parent, following a point, and imitation (Robins et
al. 2001). In order to mitigate against false positives, M CHAT requires the
practitioner to contact parents in the case of positive screenings and to get them to
verify their answers during a follow up interview. A positive screen occurs in one of
two cases: either if responses to any two of the six critical questions indicate
abnormal developmental progress, or if any three of the twenty three questions
indicate the same. Because of the relatively simple questionnaire format, which only
takes around five to ten minutes to complete, it is possible to administer the M

It s not a question about the leaf, my question is, how ideal of an environment do
you want this kind of reference to be? Because, as you said, in the black box
maybe we can do some data collection in the lab, for the reference, but in the real
world, what we get from the lar experiments and lab research, is difficult to be
copied with the filed conditions, where we have discussed that there is light, angle or
maybe cloudy or not and things like those.
The light in the environment can also have some impact on what we get. Even if we
build a whole database as reference from the ideal condition or the ideal situation, can
we just use these?
John:No, you could, but the accuracy would start to fall off because the conditions in
the lab aren t good enough for the changes of the environment. That was why I was

query, being a legitimate one, causes the matching tag to reply to the query. This
discloses the location of the tag to the adversary even if the tag uses a new random
number each time to generate a different response. Since there can only be one
response to a search query as each tag has its own unique ID, even if the attacker is
not able to decipher the contents of the reply, he will know that the tag responded and
hence be able to track the tag. Hence, secure search protocols require additional
design techniques to prevent this attack.
1.1 Motivation
Many of the approaches to secure search in RFID systems do not comply with the

This defeats the purpose of hiding the random number in flow 1 and enables the
attacker to track the previous communication of the tag in conjunction with a
physical tampering of the tag. Once the tag is tampered, the adversary gets rts,
rtsв€’1. Using y and rr captured in the previous round and rtsв€’1 from the
tampered tag, he can compute y rr rtsв€’1 which is rr rtsj idj rr rtsв€’1. Since y is
from the previous round, rts would be equal to rtsв€’1 and hence reveals id. Hence,
the protocol is not forward secure. Further, the equality check used by the tag to
verify if x = z can result in incorrect tag authentication. As an example, x = id
PRNG(rtsj rr) and x = PRNG(rtsj rr) id will result in the same value but the
operands are not the same in the operation. An attacker could exploit the weakness
of this construction and could potentially substitute one or both the operands with an
arbitrary value but still resulting in a valid x. The x = z verification in the tag would
be successful even though the values in the operands are not correct. Our proposed
protocol addresses both the forward security issue and the equality check weakness in

It is important to note the reason for African slave resistance. African born slaves
revolted because Slaves born in Africa who conceived of resistance as all out war
in African style to destroy the alien plantations or separate entirely from them (qtd
in Knight 242). These slaves could still remember the freedom they once shared in
their homeland and resisted in every way to regain that freedom. Many African
slaves would attempt to regain that freedom by running away and forming Maroon
communities. Upon arrival into the new world many slaves would run away as
another attempt to escape slavery; initiating another transition in slave rebellion,
from African dominated to maroonage. Maroonage was a powerful expression of
slave resistance because it allowed slaves to enjoy the freedom they once had or
longed to have. Running away from plantations was a frequent practice. It was often
attempted when there was hope of great success such as the availability of
mountainous areas or dense forests. This was common in Caribbean countries such
as Jamaica, Trinidad, Cuba, Hispaniola and Dominica. While in the new world,
slaves had a better opportunity to achieve freedom by escaping from plantations
rather than waiting to be emancipated or to be regarded as free. Maroon communities
were formed and grew rapidly. This caused the ratio of White to Black to become
disproportionate and strength ruled in favour of the Africans. The enslaved
commonly retreated to the mountains

Review Of Pam Rosenthal s Please Take Lucy For A Walk
Please take Lucy For a walk Pam Rosenthal says as she passes the little ball of 10
year old who is nestled into the corner of the couch. Frizzy brown hair and eyes
like emeralds peek out from behind the Vampire Academy . A heavy sigh escapes
Carly s mouth as she sets her book on the small wooden table that sits in the center
of the living room. It is mostly decorated with misplaced and miscellaneous
objects, such as guitar picks, random mail addressed to past roommates who no
longer live here, and many a nick nac. She pushes herself up and begins meandering
from one room to the next, collecting all of the necessary materials for a walk :

She walks over to the young adult fiction section and begins to scan the shelves for
something interesting, something dramatic. Her eyes pass over dragons and
romance and vampires and vines crawling up the covers. She reaches for a book on
the third shelve, and reads the back. It says something about a girl with powers to
sense the dead, and Carly shruggs and turns to find a seat. A little circle of chairs
surround a table in front of the book shelf; she picks a bright green fluffy looking
chair and sits down heavily, expecting it to give. To her suprise the couch is quite
stiff and she plops down awkwardly. She opens the book and sets about getting lost
in it s pages. After about half an hour of adventuring through the book, she get up,
checks out the book, and walks outside ti find Lucy waiting for her. Guilt sweepes
her at the sight of her dog smiling up at her and she makes a promise to herself that
next time she will take her for a real walk. She unties the leash from its post with
numbing fingers and walks the three blocks back to he house, head still whirling with
images of fantastic powers and exitment.
How was your walk? Her mother asks as she stomps the snow from her boots at the
front door.
It was good, we went down to the dog park she replies, dissapearing into her room.
She curls up on her bed, pulls out her book, and flips to chapter
Fourth Crusade Essay
To what extent were the Crusades an exercise of power rather than an exercise of
belief and moral commitment? In your discussion, focus on the 4th Crusade.
The Crusades were a series of revolutionary movements which occurred from 1095
to 1291. The crusades were issued by the Pope and were a holy war against infidels,
predominately Muslim caliphates, who were now in control of Christian property.
The crusades were characterized by the taking of vows and a promise of penance
against all sin committed in one s life. There was a total of nine crusades, though this
paper will be focusing on the fourth. The fourth crusade began with the same motives
as the previous crusades, to reclaim Christian land from the Muslims, however the 4th
Crusade ultimately led to the sack of the Constantinople for three days, during which
multitudes of Ancient works of art were stolen and destroyed and thousands of
Constantinople s population killed. The greatest city of Europe, Constantine s the
Greats city, once thought to be an impenetrable city lay in ruin. The purpose of this
paper is to discuss as to what motivations led the crusaders to disregarded their
original purpose of attacking Muslim controlled Egypt and instead attack a fellow
Christian nation. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast The Monk And The Gothic
Both Ann Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis are leading authors within the Gothic genre.
Since they are contemporaries of one another and their interpretations of the Gothic
are so different, it is reasonable to expect these authors engaging in major debates
about the nature of the Gothic. The fact that Radcliffe published The Italian just a
year after Lewis published The Monkcombined with Radcliffe s contrasting
definition of Gothic conventions from that of Lewis s motivates literary critics to
consider The Italian as a direct response to The Monk. In fact, Radcliffe s and Lewis
s works fall into distinct categories within the Gothic genre with The Italian
representing the female Gothic and The Monk epitomizing the male Gothic. As a

The Prioress s eagerness to impress Ambrosio, the celebrity of Madrid sheds light
on her ambition which is further illustrated in a later scene during the Procession
where the Prioress harboured secret pride at displaying the pomp and opulence of
her Convent (269). These details underline how the Prioress essentially treats St.
Clare Convent as her own domain where she can gain fulfilment by enhancing its
prestige. As such, she subjects Agnes to all the rigour of which severe laws admit
as a vengeance over her injured pride. Her fixation on her own aspiration at the
expense of others which verges on cruelty is represented by her indifference towards
Agnes s tears and sighs which demonstrates her penitence and contrition . (177) The
Prioress metes out extreme punishment to Agnes despite other nuns including
Mother Camilla and Mother St. Ursula supplicating her to mitigate the severity of
[Agnes s] sentence because she deems ruthless treatment of Agnes as the only way
to convince Ambrosio that [she] abhors such crimes (177). The Prioress s tendency
to abuse power is further exacerbated by the fact that she exercises absolute will in
St. Clare Convent as shown by her dismissal of the opposition to [her] will and
assertion that those supplications will be unavailing because [her]
Compare and Contrast Brazil and China as Bric Countries
Currently, economic world are more dynamic. Many developed countries such as
European Union, US, and Japan as the largest economic are going to be overtaken by
developing countries, particularly BRIC. BRIC stands for Brazil, Russia, India, and
China. Those countries are growing rapidly and making contribution to the world
economy as Goldman Sachs(2010) said, Between 2000 and 2008, the BRICs
contributed almost 30% to global growth in US Dollar terms, compared with around
16% in the previous decade . Furthermore, even Goldman Sachs predicted in 2050 the
BRICcould account for almost 50% of global equity markets. This essay will

Therefore, Brazil is trying to utilize China s huge market to replace their lost demand
in the US. In fact, the collaboration between China and Brazil has expanded in
multiple sector including financing, investment in joint projects, energy cooperation,
and military sales (EIU, 2010). Thus, China became the largest trading partner for
Brazil since 2009 with value about US$36bn (EIU, 2010).
One of the important factors of the growth in China and Brazil as BRIC countries
is Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). There are several factors that contribute to
attract FDI including market size, institutional and regulatory quality, trade
openness, infrastructure quality, economic and political stability, and labor quality
and cost (The World Bank, 2011). China is still the most attracting for FDI among
any other BRIC members (UNCTAD, 2012). Huge amount of market, low
inflation and stability of their government are might be the factors that attracted the
FDI in China. According to the ministry of China, Investment from the United
States decreased by 26.1 percent in 2011 to $3 billion, while that from the
European Union decreased by 3.65 percent to $6.3 billion so, China s FDI was hit
by the global financial crisis in the EU and US. However, The most attracted FDI in
Brazil is in market size sector with the fact that Brazil will be the host of

For instance, all the UPS courier delivery also had the hand help barcode scanner to
help receive courier. They can use barcode to identify all the detail and it provides
lots of information, e.g. airway bill number and customer information. The system is
based on UPS Trackpad technology and that will improve commutation links and

First advancements in RFID technology coupled with decreasing costs have allowed
RFID to gain greater prominence and therefore a higher level of adoption. The
following are examples of the unique capabilities offered by RFID:

After rapid growth in the international debt of developing countries in the 1970s and
the increasing incidence of scheduling back debt in the early 1980s, the risk of
countries reflecting the ability and willingness of a country to financial services has

As well as significant events that occurred on September 11, 2001, the associated

I will be discussing the IT general controls and application controls of this process.
The importance of IT when evaluating internal controls The world is very different
as to what it was many years ago. As time progresses so does technology. I
personally have seen the changes within technology as I matured in years. I had a
beeper and thought I was very cool at the age of 10, then cellular phones were
introduced then I had my first PC later on I would have my very first lap top.
Nevertheless, now I have an Iphone6? Going back to businesses, technology has
helped many businesses become more efficient. When you or I go to a restaurant
we see our server input our order into a screen with their own code facilitating our
server with our orders yet tracking, recording, accepting summarizing the
transactions throughout the day. Many business processes are dependent in
technology for some of the reasons I have mentioned above which also makes it
relevant to the financial reporting aspect. The controls of the applications and
systems are important because of the impact it has on the integrity of the processing
of the information that will be reported on the financials. Section 404 is big on
internal controls, so to evaluate if there are proper internal controls we have to take
into consideration of the applications and systems and see what controls are
programmed into them. This is necessary for the auditor to see when
Advantages Of Juvenile Delinquency
There are several ways that juvenile delinquency is measured in which each way
consists of advantages and disadvantages within the scope of measuring crimes and
delinquency. The several types of juvenile delinquency measuring crimes statistics are
from collected from the Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR), National Incident
Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Victimization Surveys, and Self Report Studies.
The Uniform Crime Reporting Program consist of voluntarily combination reports
from city, county and state law enforcement agencies which are reported to the
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The FBI compiles the detailed data
collections of the Uniform Crime Report (URC) data from the law enforcement
agencies based on three detailed part of crime groups. The crime data are group in
three categorized topics starting with the crimes that are known to the police, the
number of arrests made, and the person arrested. Crimes known to the police consist
of the data which the crimes are known to the police whether it was from public
citizen reporting or were discovered by the law enforcement agency themselves. The
collected data containing the number of arrests consist of individuals committing the
crime accounting for individual that may be arrested more than once within the time
frame between crimes. Then lastly, the persons arrested consisted of the actual
number of person being arrested and detailed personal information are collected such
as the reasons for arrest, age,
A Comparison of The Perfect Storm Movie and Novel Essay
A Comparison of The Perfect Storm Movie and Novel
The Perfect Storm is a novel written by Sebastian Junger, that retells the horrific
story of fishermen and sailors who were caught in the eye of the worst storm in
history. The book mainly focuses on the Andrea Gail, a swordfishing boat, with a
crew of 6 men, who disappeared without a trace deep into the northern atlantic sea. In
the year 2000, almost 10 years after the tragic event took place, a motion picture,
perfectly titled, The Perfect Storm which was based on the novel was released. There
were subtle to few changes in the plot line of the story, however there were many
differences among the book and movie. The movie is very intact with the plot and ...

The movie didn`t portray an important aspect, when the Andrea Gail was replacing
and upgrading its gears in the beginning, but the book did. That played a key role in
why the Andrea Gail was caught in the storm in the first place. The ice machine had
broken down leaving the crew with no choice but to return home, which meant
heading into the storm, otherwise the fish they had worked so hard to catch would
spoil, making a whole waste of the trip. There were also details within the book that
offered much enlightment about the sea, the life of a fisherman, how a person dies,
and storms, yet the movie failed to offer that. That`s just one more argument for the
debate of whether its better to read the book or watch the movie.
There were certain plots that took place in the movie, but wasn`t mentioned in the
book, if not then it was only briefly brought about. When the 6 men were out in the
bar drinking and partying the night before they were off to sea once again, the
book mentioned only briefly about Murph, one of the crewmen, ?he has an ex wife
Debra, and a three year old baby, also named Dale, whom he openly adores?. In the
movie, it showed Murph and his son, who wasn`t three years old, but older, in the
movie, bonding that last night. However, the book never mentioned this event taking
place. The movie creator
Statement of Purpose for the Doctor of Physical Therapy
As I have almost completed my sophomore year of college, I know what my career
goals are at this point. I am currently on the physical therapy track planning to
declare the major of exercise science: applied kinesiology. I became interested in PT
after hearing many appealing things about it such as: the rapid growth and demand of
physical therapists, the purpose it serves, and financial stability that comes along
with the rewarding work. I am eager to learn about the functions, progress, and
healing of the human body in the most natural manner, and through exercise science
my knowledge in this study will certainly grow. The majorof exercise science:
applied kinesiology prepares students for a variety of fields in the health/human
sciences. Throughout the specified and course intensive curriculum, students learn
advanced problem solving skills, interpretation of critical information, and
understanding/ manipulating kinetics of the human body; each skill will grow
stronger throughout the curriculum and will be essential in treating patients. PT is
one of many career choices for exercise science majors. In order to practice
independently in any setting, the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree must be
obtained. In order to obtain the degree, one must be accepted into the DPT program,
requiring the prior completion of specific coursework as well as 10 1000 hours of
volunteer work specific to the field. Computer scienceis a major in this generation that

Claude Monet Analysis
Claude Monet s piece titled Sunrise (Marine) illustrates the daylight in the
industrial port of Le Havre of the north coast, France. This piece was made in
March or April of 1873. The piece s present location is the J. Paul Getty Museum,
west pavilion, gallery w204. The medium is oil on canvas and is next to another
piece made by Monet called The Portal of Rouen Cathedral in morning light. Claude
Monetwas part of the impressionist movement that changes French paintings of the
nineteenth century. For Sunrise (1872), people criticized the paint due to the
appearance of an unfinished painting, however other artist saw it as an honor and
eventually called themselves impressionist . The painting brings out a beautiful
image due to the colors, texture, and technique that plays an important role in
society and culture. When entering the room, people crowded around Monet s
pieces, which felt like an honor to see the type and techniques his work has. The
colors describe the feeling of an early morning. The painting has a muted palette of
blues, greens, and grays. The sunrise is orange and yellow which are surrounded
by the clouds and smoke from steamboats. Three boats are shapes and visible while
the rest fade into the distance. This painting is an example of plein air or outdoor
painting. I also notice that Monet layered the colors so that when I viewed the
painting from a far distance I knew what the painting was about however when I
looked at it up close I saw brush strokes and
America Vs Airplane
I disagree with this statement, as consumers we don t only value the invention
based on how hard it is made, but how useful it is. we could conclude this by
looking at the current invention for example: Viagra vs airplane. The wright
brothers (Wilbur and Orville) invented airplane in 17, December 1903. They both
was first inspired by birds, they observe that birds angled their wings for balance
and control, and tried to apply the same principle to their design and call it wing
wrapping . Not long after that they invented moveable rubber that is able to react
like the birds wing and they discovered airplane. With this method Wilbur is able to
fly for 59 seconds at 852 feet. This have been an extraordinary achievement. To build

I don t think that it is necessary for us to see it in this perspective, we value things
based on its effect towards us, not just based on how easy or hard it takes to invent
it. It would seems quite unfair we value things based on the result instead of the
process like for example: the wright brother put so much effort towards it and
finally their work paid off. In the other hand the Viagra pills they also give much
effort in researching and its effect toward the human body. Even thought the result is
not as expected, but his invention doesn t make us value one more than the other. In
conclusion, people based value toward the invention based on its effect towards us.
Some people value airplane more than Viagra maybe because they travel a lot, or
inverse probably because they think it is more beneficial for them. But this does not
mean the knowledge we achieve through difficulty is what we truly value. What we
truly value is its benefit towards us and that is the true measurement of value, instead
of measuring through the process we rather measure it though the advantage towards

Members of the Klan wanted to gain back control of the South as well as America
from federal conquest and maintain white power across America. Throughout its
history, the KKK has been disbanded and founded again several times. In 1956, the
Klan organization was formed again to revive the original Klan movement (Ku Klux
Klan). The Ku Klux Klan has had a continuing impact on American history. Today, the
Klan is still growing and continues as the longest running organization in America
that promotes White Rights and Christianity. Although its agenda and methods of
operation have changed over the years, its principles have remained unchanged and
much of the Klan is still run based on its founding father s efforts (Ku Klux Klan).
The Knights of the Ku Klux Klan have consistently advocated white supremacy,

From the time Arthur Miller began writing plays, till his recent death in 2005, he
had never had such a well know play as Death of a Salesman. This play was first
performed in the late 1940 s. It reveals the struggle of an old, worn out, salesman
who is upset with the life that he has created. With the strain of his past mistakes
lurking in the back of his mind, Willy cannot handle the stress and begins to have
hallucinations of the past about the things he could have changed.

No one made that decision of cheating other than Willy; he can t blame it on anyone

lead Willy to have destruction was that he relied too much on his children. He
expected something more than they could give him. Both of his children knew they
couldn t give their dad what he wanted, which ruined their relationship.
2.) As the play ended the state of Willy and his mindset began to change. He started

he imagined of becoming a successful business man. Don t say? Tell you a secret

success he would have. But that idea was far from reality. No one remembered

for was the success of the two good looking boys he had raised, in hope that they
would be the next big thing. But
Speech On Pollution
Pollution should be banned from society and our planet. This may be a topic that
is discussed all the time, but we need to wake up and make changes now. Some of
our world s most pollutants places have damaging effects, such as birth defects, the
loss of thirty to forty IQ points, and life expectancy may be as low as forty five
years because of cancer and other diseases. This is enough reason alone to continue
to address the problem of pollution. Pollution is when the air, water, land, and
environment is made dirty and unsafe to use. This is done by contamination of the
natural environment, which can be tangible to intangible. According to a non profit
organization named Pure Earth, toxic pollution affects more than two hundred
million people worldwide. These pollutants are created from different elements and
affect our society and the human race in several ways. There are many types of
pollutions, such as air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, food pollution,
and land pollution that have been affecting our world greatly and the human race
that live in it. One type of pollution is Air pollution. Air is one of the most
important elements of our environment for our survival. It is a natural gift and a
free asset. It is polluted in many ways. Land vehicles use oil and fuel, which create
smoke. The smoke gets mixed with air and thus pollutes air. Mills, factories and
industries are also held responsible for air pollution because they create smoke. Air

as did Whirlpool so this was a good strategy to increase their product line and loyal

b.Horizontal related diversification is when a company adds products that are
unrelated to its current offerings. Whirlpool purchased Kitchen Aid in 1986, which
manufactured stand mixers, among other products. This was not something
Whirlpool was familiar with but using the celebrity chef popularity at the time,

products or services that are significantly different from the organization s present
products or services. This happens when the company diversifies into an area that is
completely dissimilar to the current line of business. Whirlpool currently offers
licensing upon approval to any products. Products they license now include water
softeners, water coolers, upright vacuums and outdoor grills. These products, when

Biography Of Isaac Newton s Three Laws Of Motion
Isaac Newton was an English mathematician, astronomer, and physicist who had
developed his three laws of motion by the age of 23. He was born in 1642 the
same year the Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei died. Galileo s work helped to
influence or set the stage for the development and creation of Newton s three laws.
Newton s three laws of motion consists of the first law which is the concepts of
inertia, second law which is relating acceleration to its cause and lastly the third law
which is action and reaction. The laws of motion were interpreted in the most
famous and influential book of all time called, Philosophiae Naturalis Principia
Mathematica created by Newton in 1687. The book was often known as Principia

The only way to change an objects motion is for it to be impacted by an unbalanced
force.
Next is Newton s second law of motion also known as the Law of Force and
Acceleration . He was the first to recognize the relationship between force and
mass in the production of acceleration. This discovery became one of the most
central rules of nature that was able to shape the form of physics. The law states;
The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to
the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely
proportional to the mass of the object . This is usually expressed by the equation
Force= mass x acceleration (F=ma). The law also states that the smaller the object
the higher the acceleration there will be and vise versa the larger the object the
smaller the acceleration will be. The acceleration of an object depends on the net
force acted on the object and the mass of the object. If the mass and net force is
both doubled then the acceleration will remain unchanged. This law also gives a
explanation for why objects with different masses are able to fall with equal/same
acceleration. If the object is only acted on by the gravitational force then air
resistance is negligible which is called free fall. During free fall the acceleration of
the objects also depends on its inertia and uses the equation Force/mass=gravity (F
/m=g), g always

Time Warner is one of the biggest names in the cable industry. On the other hand they
are know to have notoriously bad customer service which in turn limits the amount of
customers they bring in and increases the amount of customers that cancel their
service. To deal with these problems we have come up with multiple marketing
recommendations. In order to get rid of the reputation of bad service Time Warnerhas
to advertise their new and improved customer service so that people will want to buy
from Time Warner Cable. One way to start improving customer service is to offer
online survey so that the customers know that their opinion is whats most
important to Time Warner Cable. The survey will not just ask if their problems
were solved or if the representative was good. It will ask in depth questions about
what the customer thought about that particular representative. They also can give
follow up surveys a few weeks after a phone call. These surveys will be there to see
if the problem that the customer experienced is arising again and to make sure that
there are no new problems. These surveys show that Time Warner Cable truly does
care for the wellbeing of their customers. Along with surveys Time Warner Cable
can also offer holiday specialties such as reduced prices for the holiday season. They
can market this by saying that they understand that a lot of money is being spent on
Definition Of Pop Culture
Popular culture can be defined in many ways. John Fiske referred to it as social
circulation of meanings, values, and pleasures, to the processes of forming social
identities and social relationships, and to entering into relation with the larger social
order in a particular way and from a particular position (Cocarla, Foundations of
Popular Culture+ Ways of Seeing ) while Raymond Williams referred to culture as an
activity and the process of individual enrichment and, most importantly, a group s
particular way of life (Cocarla, Foundations of Popular Culture+ Ways of Seeing ).
Those definitions may seem like a lot to unpack. Essentially, however, it is clear that
culture is a concept which is shaped and molded by people and the relationships
between them. It is about the people that it represents. People change. Society
changes. So too, then, does culture. I believe it is dynamic, ever changing,
consistently being updated to reflect the people in a given society at any given point
in time. It is not a stagnant, textbook topic which can be easily defined and parsed.
Rather, it must be defined in terms of some cultural context, and one must keep in
mind that there are many sometimes conflicting definitions of popular culture. The
first wave of feminism was concerned with challenging the basic ideas of womanhood
(Cocarla, Feminist Popular Culture Theory ). It is important to understand what such
a challenge means and what this might have to do with
Moor Research Paper
The derivation of the English term, Moor, is the Greek word, ОјО±П…ПЃОї or
mavro which accurately means black, blackened or charred , says taneter.org.
They go on to then say, how this English term Moor has been used to describe
black or very dark things such as, Mavri Thalassa which refers to the Black Sea.
Ancient Greeks used this term to describe the complexion of Africans or objects of
that matter. The origination of the term Moor is even used in various terms that
describe the color black . For example the Spanish word blackberry , is translated in
Spanish as zaramora , which carries the root word mor . The term Moor , also
define a partial part of our postsecondary education, and example of this can be
Morehouse College. The college itself describe itself as, The only all male
historically black institution of higher learning in the United States. They go on to
even then designate it as, the college of choice for black men. It is now evident of
the trend that initiated from Renaissance ages in Europe to our everyday lives today.
Therefore it creates a proposal asking us, what was the influential things the Moors
brought to Europe during the age of the Renaissance? The influential things the

Ir A Nuclear Power And Producing Atomic Bombs
Around 2003, the hidden Iranian plan of becoming a nuclear power and producing
atomic bombs was revealed by a major opposition group: Mojahadeen. The U.S and
other Western countries have been seriously discussing this matter with Iranian
authorities after they verified the validity of the news. Iran has undergone billions
dollars in expenses, in attempts to gain nuclear power. Generally, the main sanctions
are divided into four different groups: U.S sanctions (Executive Order), European
sanctions, UN sanctions, and sanctions imposed by the U.S congress. During the
beginning years, the effect rate of sanctions weren t very high until sanctions were
imposed on Irans oil/energy sector and the banking system (Slavin, 2007). When the
Iranian revolutiontook place is 1979, Iranian civilians were in search for a better life
which would bring them more political freedom, which at the time, they were
lacking. The revolution, attempting to overthrow Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi
occurred and not only were Iranian civilians striped of their political freedom, but
they were stripped of their other rights and privileges as well. The new ideological
theocratic government betrayed the hopes and dreams of civilians of having a better
democratic life and instead set up a theocratic dictatorship that affect Iranians until
this day. Relations between the United States and Iran has changed drastically ever
since the Pahlavi Dynasty. At one point, prior to 1979, America and Iran were
Compare Jitter, Shimmer and Harmonics to Noise Ratio in...
Compare jitter, shimmer and harmonics to noise ratio in terms of the types of
information each provides?
Jitter and shimmer are measures of the cycle to cycle variations of fundamental
frequency and amplitude, respectively, which have been largely used for the
description of pathological voice quality. Jitter is also known as frequency
perturbation and refers to the minute involuntary variations in the timing variability
between cycles of vibration. In essence, it is a measure of frequency variability in
comparison to the client s fundamental frequency. Research shows that jitter values in
normal voices range from 0.2 to 1 percent. (Ferrand, 2007) Jitter values above this
level indicate that the vocal folds are vibrating in a way that ... Show more content on

The vocal note produced by the vibrations of the vocal folds is complex and made
up of periodic (regular and repetitive) and aperiodic (irregular and non repetitive)
sound waves. The aperiodic waves are random noise introduced into the vocal
signal owing to irregular or asymmetric adduction (closing) of the vocal folds.
Noise impairs the clarity of the vocal note and too much noise is perceived as
hoarseness. The Harmonics to Noise (HNR) ratio is a measure of the proportion
of harmonic sound to noise in the voice measured in decibels. (Ferrand, 2007).
HNR quantifies the relative amount of additive noise (Awen Frankel, 1994) The
lower the HNR, the more noise in the voice. Laryngeal pathology may lead to poor
adduction of the vocal folds and, therefore, increase the amount of random noise in
the vocal note. If a person has some kind of problem in vibrating the vocal folds,
due to a growth, paralysis of one or both vocal folds, or other kind of laryngeal
problem, a larger amount of air escapes during vibration, creating turbulent noise.
(Pabon Plomp, 1988) The greater the proportion of noise, the greater the perceived
hoarseness, breathiness or roughness and the lower the HNR figure will be, i.e. a
low HNR indicates a high level of hoarseness, and a high HNR indicates a low level
of hoarseness. There is a strong relationship between how we perceive voice quality
and the harmonic to noise ratio (Ferrand, 2007).
The Characteristics Of The Humanist Movement In The
Iliad
There are many unknowns regarding who Homer was. His date of birth and death
are still a mystery to modern day historians, ranging anywhere between the twelfth
to eighth century BCE. As to where he was born, no one knows the exact location.
Although there are many mysteries revolving around Homer s life, there is one
known fact: his epics changed history forever. Homer s epics are one of the only
few artifacts historians have to learn about Homer, which can reveal a lot if read
carefully. After reading the Iliad, it became clear that Homer was an early Humanist,
one who possibly shaped or inspired the Humanist movement in Classical Greece
during the fifth and fourth century BCE. The Humanist movement during Classical
Greece glorified the human body, which can be shown through the many
sculptures and paintings created during the era. These sculptures resembled the
ideal human body, the body every Greek should strive to achieve. The ideal body
type was that of an athlete (PBS, 2017). There are hints of this image of the ideal
body in Homer s Iliad. The section of the text that indicates that Homer can be an
early humanist is when he writes, Here was the ugliest man who ever came to
Troy. Bandy legged he was, with one foot clubbed, both shoulders humped together,
curving over his caved in chest, and bobbing above them his skull warped to a
point, sprouting clumps of scraggly, woolly hair (Homer 750 BCE, 250 255). In this
description of Thersites, Homer never calls him

A serial killer is someone who murders two or more...
A serial killer is someone who murders two or more individuals at different times.
For example, if a man murders a prostitute on the day of Easter, murders another on
mother s day, and then another on Memorial Day, then he would be classified as a
serial killer.
Types of serial killers
The Medical Killer
This type of killer is very rare. This killer feels they have a clear alibi because they
are in the medical occupation. Therefore whenever people in the hospitals pass
away, it does not necessarily look like a murder. They make the death appear as a
natural cause so no one would expect that the victims were murdered.
The Organized Killer This type of serial killer is the most difficult to identify and

Hedonistic
The hedonistic motive style seeks pleasure or a thrill from killing. This style has
three additional subcategories which are lust, thrill, and comfort. Lust This
category within the hedonistic style is for killers whose main motive is sex.
Fantasizing about victims dead or alive, the killer is satisfied once they have killed
those victims. The more they torture their victims, the more sexual aroused they
become. Thrill The motive for a thrill killer is to make the victims terrified of them
or to induce pain. Killers with this motive is looking for that adrenaline rush through
killing victims. These predators kill for the kill. Comfort The killers are seeking a
comfortable lifestyle.
Power/Control
The main goal for killers with this motive is to gain power over the victims. http:/

Reading sends a feeling throughout my body and mind that is rather difficult to
explain. The feeling is overwhelming and takes over my entire thought process. It is
as though I want to shut out the world and fall completely into the book so I can
experience the words instead of just reading them, but at the same time I wantto be
able to talk to every person I know about the story and the characters and every little
detail of every major plot twist. That awe inspiring feeling first came when I began
reading The Count of Monte Cristofor the first time.

There was something about this book that stood out to me. I don t know if it was the
blue and gold intricate designs covering it, the title, or something else that I couldn t
comprehend right then. Whatever it was, it drew me to that book like a magnet and I
thought this is the one. I need to get this one.
The snow came earlier than expected and by earlier, I mean it came at noon instead
of nine o clock. I came home and immediately started shoveling snow off my
driveway so my mom wouldn t need to do it. My shoveling was constantly
interrupted by my own thoughts, I wonder what it s like to read a book so big. I can
t imagine it will be easy to read. I wonder what it s about. I just want to go in and
start reading.
At long last, the shoveling was done and it was my time. I hurried inside, changed
my clothes to something dry and warm, and went out onto the deck. A patio chair
was left out from one of our summer dinner parties so I brushed it off and set
myself up there. I took a couple chopped logs off the pile to my left and lit the fire
in the fire pit for its inaugural lighting of the season. I pulled my chair as close to
the fire as I could; close enough to get warm, but far enough away that I didn t catch
on fire. With that, I was finally ready, so I curled under my blanket and began reading.
I sat outside reading for hours, paying no attention to the fact that it was only thirty
degrees outside.

cyborgs; a fusion of animal and machine . Not robots like artificial intelligence Ava in

Haraway s cyborg claim rests on a complex interaction between humans and
technology and how this interaction is not co existing with one another, but as
humans and technology incorporating one another. The Dictionary of Sociology
defines cyborgas a, growing integration of human beings into mechanical systems

Maple Flag Research Paper
The Creation Of The Maple Leaf Flag Flags have symbolized and represented
countries for hundreds of years. Canada has had multiple flag changes since
Confederation from the Union Jack to the Red Ensign. However, a new flag was
announced, and has been Canada s flag ever since. Creator of the peacekeepers and
future Prime Minister Lester Pearson had successfully convinced Canadians that
Canadawas in need of a brand new flag. That flag has changed Canada s identity as an
independent nation by removing British influences and uniting all Canadians.

(Levine). To illustrate, he wanted a flag that contains a symbol that will be
remembered as a true symbol of Canada. Pearson imaged the flag to be ideally
Canadian with symbols of objects found in Canada. Furthermore, countless
suggestions contained the symbol of the maple leaf as it has been Canada s
symbol for many years. This can be seen in a few select choices such as the
Pearson Pennant designed by Alan Beddoe. There had been thousands of unique
ideas generated by Canadians of all ages, but the choice for Canada s new flag had
come down to the final top two. Likewise, the Maple Leaf and the Pearson Pennant
became Canada s ultimate choice for its national flag. After a prolonged period of
time, the decision was settled over a debate in the House of Commons on
December 15, 1964 at 2:00 a.m. The results were 163 to 78 in favour of the Maple
Leaf flag. Additionally, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the II signed the royal
proclamation on January 28, 1965. Furthermore, the Maple Leaf flag was raised on
Parliament Hill for the first time on February 15, 1965. This was seen as a long
lasting change as the flag still flies today and may be flying for the years to
Embezzlement, A Costly White Collar Crime Essay
Embezzlement, A Costly White Collar Crime
When an employer hires a new employee, they expect that employee to perform the
work that is asked of them so that they can receive a paycheck. Often, employees are
promoted to positions of trust within the company. These positions enable dishonest
employees to commit criminal acts against the company for their own personal gain.
One of the most common crimes they commit is embezzlement. Embezzlement
occurs when a person in a position of trust takes or misappropriates funds that they
have been entrusted with and converts them for their own benefit. This was what
happened in Dixon, Illinois in 2012 that resulted in a $53.7 million dollar loss to the
city. The comptroller at the time, Rita Crundwell, embezzled the money to fund her
own horse breeding operation along with extravagant gifts for herself. Crundwell
was charged in 2012 and plead guilty to wire fraud. Crundwell as sentenced to 20
years in prison for this crime.
The crime of embezzlement is considered a white collar crime as it is a nonviolent
crime that is committed by a person for their own financial gain. When a person
commits embezzlement, they do not physically harm another person, although they
cause them to suffer some sort of financial loss due to the theft they have committed.
Those that commit embezzlement are usually in the career of some sort of business
and hold a position that they have access or control over some type of financials for
the company or clients.

Argentina s current proven oil reserves are estimated at 2.4 billion barrels and
unproven reserves are estimated at 27 billion barrels of shale oil and considered to be
fourth largest in the world. Despite that, Argentina has low level of oil production,
which has been declining during past several decades. In 2016, it extracted 693,000

Essay My Class

  • 1. Essay My Class Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay My Class" presents a unique set of challenges, as it requires a delicate balance between personal reflection and objective analysis. The difficulty lies in articulating one's thoughts and experiences within the confines of a structured essay format while ensuring that the content remains engaging for the reader. Firstly, delving into the personal aspect can be challenging, as it demands a level of introspection that may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Revealing personal anecdotes, experiences, and sentiments about one's class involves navigating the fine line between sincerity and oversharing. Striking the right tone is crucial to maintaining the essay's credibility while still capturing the reader's interest. On the other hand, maintaining objectivity is equally challenging. Balancing personal anecdotes with broader observations about the class dynamic requires careful consideration. It's easy to veer into subjective opinions, and finding the right evidence or examples to support general statements about the class can be a meticulous task. Structuring the essay is another hurdle to overcome. Creating a coherent flow that seamlessly connects personal experiences with broader themes about the class necessitates meticulous planning. Ensuring that each paragraph contributes to the overall narrative while adhering to the prescribed essay structure demands a high level of organizational skill. Moreover, avoiding clichГ©s and ensuring originality in expressing thoughts about the class adds an extra layer of complexity. It's a constant battle to present ideas in a fresh and unique manner, steering clear of common phrases or sentiments that might dilute the essay's impact. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "Essay My Class" requires a delicate balance between personal reflection and objective analysis. Navigating the challenges of introspection, maintaining objectivity, structuring the essay effectively, and ensuring originality are all formidable tasks. However, overcoming these obstacles can lead to a compelling narrative that provides valuable insights into the dynamics of the class. • 2. Example Of A Femme Fatale A femme fatale, a French term for fatal woman (Schimkowitz, 2014), is a strong willed, manipulative woman who is as alluring as she is dangerous. She is an irresistibly attractive woman who leads a man into difficult and dangerous situations with her seductive charms (Blakely, 2014). They used to be physically characterized as fierce sexing looking women with sharp eyeliners. This female archetype has been in existence since ancient times all around the world. The first example of a femme fatale in this paper is Veda Pierce (Ann Blyth) in Mildred Pierce, which was released in 1945, when many American soldiers returned from World War II. During the WWII period, women were the main providers for their families while American men were at war, which led to increase independent American women. Mildred Pierce, the mother of Veda, is one of the strong women who is working hard to support herself and her children. In contrast to her mother s effort, Veda takes advantage of her mother s kindness and money. She also betrays her by having an affair with Monte Beragon, who is already married to her mother. Veda has the looks and knows how to use her looks to attract men. And she is so ambitious that she does anything in order to get the most important thing to her which is money to live the high class life. Ultimately, a femme fatale leads the male into ruin. Veda fulfills this characteristic of the femme fatale by shooting Monte to death when he denies that he is going to marry her.
  • 3. Social Commentary On The Great Gatsby Social Commentary of The Great Gatsby Great wealth cannot transform who you truly are. In the novel of The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby is the protagonist who is astonishingly wealthy and romantic. Nonetheless, due to the self extravagance in luxury and corruption of moral values, the collapsing society in the 1920 s leads Gatsby and his American Dream into destruction. Through a Marxist lens, the character s belief influences the society by the character s ideology of social stratification, how characters adjust themselves to accept the materialistic ideology settled by the bourgeoisie, and the result of dialectical materialism. The idea that any American who works hard can achieve financial success and even overcome the class distinction exists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When George Wilson lost his wife Myrtle by a car accident, Tom s words motivates George to murder Gatsby and kill himself. However, the situation is full of lies: There was nothing I [Nick] could say, except the one utterable fact that it wasn t true (170). Right after the accident, George becomes deranged enough to murder Tom, and Tom is unaware of the fact that it is Daisy who ran over Myrtle. However, the fact that the Buchanans manipulate George to make Gatsby the victim portrays the hierarchical society. The Buchanans, who are the bourgeoisies, are able to cover up Daisy s crime through George, who represents one of the proletariat that achieves interpellation, and through Gatsby s sacrifice. Moreover, the Buchanans represent the internally corrupting life of the very rich in the 1920 s: They were careless people, Tom and Daisy they smash up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money (170). The life of the Old Money is what people dream of. It is a life as the highest state of the social hierarchy in America, which are people who inherit the advantages to get elite education and wealth. Despite how luxurious their society looks from the outside, they are people full of dishonest, lacking of moral values due to self extravagance in luxury. Just as the Buchanans did, they would use their wealth to cover up what they have done, and provide the image people to believe in, in order to create a victim that will in hold their crime. This in this case is Jay Gatsby. Society often denies reality and believe in the image the bourgeoisies create to comfort themselves, but make another victim of the society
  • 4. Essay on Social Psychology Research Proposal Unfair Advantage: Testing the Advantage of Being Attractive in the Workforce The Halo Effect is the cognitive bias that generalizes that if an individual has one outstanding favorable character trait, the rest of that individual s trait will be favorable. Specific to physical attractiveness, this is known as the Attractiveness Halo. Attractiveness plays an important role in determining social interactions. In fact, the physical attractivenessof an individual is a vital social cue utilized by others to evaluate other aspects of that individual s abilities (Kenealy, Frude, Shaw, 2001). Because of the attractiveness halo, attractive applicants trying to enter the workforce tend to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two applicants will vary in attractiveness. Attractiveness will be determined by the averageness of a face; the more attractive face will be a compilation of the average of various facial features common to the Anglo Saxon genetic disposition. Studies of compilations of average facial traits show that we have a biological preference for the average phenotype because we believe it indicates evolutionary resilient, fertile genotypes (Langlois, Roggman, 1990.) The other profile will be composed of a person with facial features that deviate from the average (example: wide set eyes, etc.) and as a result are found less attractive. After evaluating both profiles, the employers would be asked to complete a brief questionnaire that asks them the following: 1) Which of the two employees they would hire if they had a consultant spot to fill, and 2) To estimate the undergraduate GPA of each of the applicants. The employers will be instructed not to assign the same GPA applicants. Expected Results and Discussion The number of employees choosing the attractive applicants over the unattractive applicants and vice versa will be assessed through a chart and bar graph showing attractiveness (independent variable) on the X axis, and chances of being hired (dependent variable) on the Y axis. Likewise, the number of employers assigning the more attractive applicants higher GPA s and vice versa will also be
  • 5. The Crucible, The Lord Of The Flies, And The Book Thief Expository Seminar Presentation Good afternoon everyone, I m Jordan Zelenak and today I m here to talk to you about how my past 5 years of English study have affected my overall attitudes values and beliefs. Although English isn t my best subject nor the most enjoyable, I can t deny that it has been extremely valuable when it came to teaching key attitudes and beliefs and reinforcing ones which already existed. To highlight this, I have selected the play, The Crucible, the movie, The Lord of the Flies, and the novel, The book Thief. For each I will analyse how each have affected my attitudes values and beliefs, how each have affected how I view the world and how each successfully use impactful aesthetic devices. The Crucible , was written... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The study of the crucible also allowed me to learn of the struggles of puritan lifestyle and how their Witch Trials which killed numerous innocent lives were extremely similar to the McCarthy hearings of the 1950 s. It allowed me to realise how the Puritan lifestyle was extremely strict as the government was intertwined with the church and religious beliefs meaning questioning officials was deemed as questioning their religion their society was based on. The witch trials also allowed me to gain an understanding of the McCarthy hearings as during these trials people were wrongly accused of being communist spies forcing them to lose their job and tarnishing their reputation in the process. As is evident the study of the crucible has also helped me to learn about the time and era the play was set as well as the tragedy of the McCarthy trials from which it was based. The crucible also demonstrated aesthetic devices that are memorable to me even though I studied it a year ago. The most notable aesthetic device which I can recall is during Giles Corey s execution by weighted stones. As stones were placed on top of a board placed on his chest he was asked one final time to respond to the charges that were falsely placed against him however his last words were More Weight which in turn killed him as the sheer weight crushed his body. In this scene the weight symbolises
  • 6. Plate Tectonics, And The World Plate Tectonics, And their relation to the world. ___ By Jillian Abreu There are many ways that earthquakes, plate boundaries, volcanoes, seafloor spreading, the Earth s core, convection currents, and subduction connect to each other, but the main way they are all connected is by plate tectonics. It all starts with plate tectonics. A theory by Alfred Wagner said that Pangaea, which is a land mass of all the continents combined, had been moved by continental drift to form the positions our continents are in now. This led to the theory of plate tectonics. This theory stated that pieces of the Earth s lithosphere are in slow, but constant motion, driven by convection currents in the mantle. A reason that backed up this theory was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mantle is one of many layers of the Earth s core. As you can see from the picture on the left, the first layer is the Earth s crust, which compared to earth, is like a sheet of paper wrapped around a basket ball. The next layer is the lithosphere. This layer is broken into plates, better known as the tectonic plates mentioned earlier. The asthenosphere comes next, which is weak compared to the lithosphere. Since the layer is hotter, the layer is more soft. As we get closer to the center, we look at the mantle. The mantle is made of thick, solid rock. The next layer is the outer core. This core contains of liquid magma with much iron and nickel. Lastly, there is the inner core. This layer is so hot that the heat melts metal ores into liquid magma. In this mantle, there are convection currents. Heat from the core causes convection currents to slowly move the Earth s crust around. All over the crust s surface, crust is destroyed, and reformed. All plate boundaries movements are moved by convection currents in the mantle. At the boundaries between plates, magma is able to force its way to the surface and escape as lava. There are three different types of plate boundaries known as convergent, divergent, and transform. Convergent Divergent Transform As you can see, with convergent plate boundaries, they

Monetary Policy And Analysis Of Nash Equilibria Recently, the president of European Central Bank (ECB), Mr Mario Draghi, announced that he is thinking of applying Quantitative Easing (QE) within the Eurozone. Assume that you are a member of the ECB board of governors. Introduction: This essay deals with the economic and financial aspects, why Mr Mario Draghi is willing to make use of Quantitative Easing, as well as pointing out the potential advantages and disadvantages of this monetary policy and analysis of Nash Equilibria. A1) In your view, what could be the reasons behind this decision? Recently, the president of European Central Bank (ECB), Mr Mario Draghi, announced that he is thinking of applying Quantitative Easing (QE) within the Eurozone. Quantitative Easing is a monetary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main objective of Mario Draghi is to inject money directly into the euro zone economy; hopefully this will boost the economies in the Eurozone if the target of 2% inflation is met. Essentially, if the inflation rate is above 2%, then the Bank will have to reduce the pace of spending and decrease the inflation in order to maintain the 2% criteria. In comparison, if the inflation is below the minimum percentage, it decreases the bank rate to the extent of boost of inflation and spending. Conversely, on behalf of a member of the ECB board of governors, applying quantitative easing within the Eurozone is seen as a very unbalanced approach, unbalanced approach in terms of effecting financial activities and may be beneficial for some countries in the Eurozone. Nevertheless, the Germans may see Quantitative Easing as an ineffective monetary policy regarding that, if the European Central Bank (ECB) purchase governments or corporate bonds from high debt countries then the German taxpayers will face a risk of having to foot the bill. This occurs if one or more of these countries default on their debt. Also, it will create a loss on the balance sheet of the ECB. The other member countries in the euro zone, especially Germany, will then have to step in to cover the loss (De Grauwe, 2015). Mario Draghi believes that the programme of bond buying is an important financial approach to circumvent the Eurozone from a deflationary situation. Whereas, the Germans fear

It fills multiple combat roles in different configurations, and is commonly used as an anti armor aircraft, or to support friendly infantry. It was originally designed to replace the AH 1 Cobra, and has since been upgraded and adapted to the Apache Longbow. The Apache longbow is equipped with two 1,994 horsepower engines, which power it s four bladed rotor, allowing it to reach speeds of over 180 mph, making it faster than nearly all military helicopters. Just to load this gun, ground crews have to have access to specialized machinery to load and clean this weapon because of its impressive size and electronic systems. But the Apache doesn t just have its gun. It can mount up to 16 Hellfire missiles, each of which is capable at blowing up a tank by itself, at ranges of over 4.5 miles. These missiles are radar or laser guided, and lock onto targets, allowing a pilot to fire and forget . Hellfires are extremely effective against armored vehicles, and have been adapted to use in other roles. Apaches can also carry Hydra 70 rocket pods on its weapon pylons. These are thin, long, unguided air to surface rockets that carry a 10 pound explosive warhead. These are mostly used against infantry or lightly armored vehicles such as Jeep style vehicles. All together, the armament used with the Apache is extremely effective in its anti armor

  • 10. Black Feminism s Speech At The Ohio Women s Rights... If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right side up again. This is from abolitionist and women s rights activist Sojourner Truth s speech at the Ohio Women s Rights Convention in 1851. This is probably the most relevant messages that feminist everywhere can follow behind. Feminismis simply the advocacy of equality of sexes social, political, and economic, but until this can happen you have to address race and class oppression among other inequalities. This is the reason why the idea of black feminism was introduced. Coined by KimberlГ© Crenshaw in 1989, black feminism argues that the experience of being a black woman cannot be understood in terms of being black or of being a woman. Black feminism became popular in the 1960s, in response to the sexism of the Civil Rights Movement and racism of the feminist movement. From the 1970s to 1980s, black feminists formed various groups which addressed the role of black women in black nationalism, gay liberation, and second wave feminism. In the 1990s, the Anita Hill controversy placed black feminism in a mainstream light. Black feminist theories reached a wider audience in the 2010s, as a result of social media advocacy (Crenshaw). Hip hop feminism is loosely defined as young feminists born after 1964 who approach the political community with a mixture of feminist and hip hop sensibilities. It shares many similarities

Different producers make use of studio technology in different ways, often depending on the style of music that they are producing, their preferred method of production and the band s preference of sound. br br The development of recording technology has run parallel to a reorientation in popular music production. It begins with an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and explains the importance of early screening for such disorders. It then outlines a range of possible screening techniques, before focusing on the most prominent of these, the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M CHAT). The paper explains the origins of M CHAT, how it works, and what its results have been so far. The latter refer to protodeclarative pointing, response to name, interest in peers, bringing things to show a parent, following a point, and imitation (Robins et al. 2001). In order to mitigate against false positives, M CHAT requires the practitioner to contact parents in the case of positive screenings and to get them to verify their answers during a follow up interview. A positive screen occurs in one of two cases: either if responses to any two of the six critical questions indicate abnormal developmental progress, or if any three of the twenty three questions indicate the same. Because of the relatively simple questionnaire format, which only takes around five to ten minutes to complete, it is possible to administer the M CHAT screen by telephone if

This discloses the location of the tag to the adversary even if the tag uses a new random number each time to generate a different response. Since there can only be one response to a search query as each tag has its own unique ID, even if the attacker is not able to decipher the contents of the reply, he will know that the tag responded and hence be able to track the tag. Hence, secure search protocols require additional design techniques to prevent this attack. 1.1 Motivation Many of the approaches to secure search in RFID systems do not comply with the EPC standard for passive RFID tags because they use hash functions that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This defeats the purpose of hiding the random number in flow 1 and enables the attacker to track the previous communication of the tag in conjunction with a physical tampering of the tag. Once the tag is tampered, the adversary gets rts, rtsв€’1. Using y and rr captured in the previous round and rtsв€’1 from the tampered tag, he can compute y rr rtsв€’1 which is rr rtsj idj rr rtsв€’1. Since y is from the previous round, rts would be equal to rtsв€’1 and hence reveals id. Hence, the protocol is not forward secure. Further, the equality check used by the tag to verify if x = z can result in incorrect tag authentication. As an example, x = id PRNG(rtsj rr) and x = PRNG(rtsj rr) id will result in the same value but the operands are not the same in the operation. An attacker could exploit the weakness of this construction and could potentially substitute one or both the operands with an arbitrary value but still resulting in a valid x. The x = z verification in the tag would be successful even though the values in the operands are not correct. Our proposed protocol addresses both the forward security issue and the equality check weakness in [42]. 3 The PROPOSED

African born slaves revolted because Slaves born in Africa who conceived of resistance as all out war in African style to destroy the alien plantations or separate entirely from them (qtd in Knight 242). These slaves could still remember the freedom they once shared in their homeland and resisted in every way to regain that freedom. Many African slaves would attempt to regain that freedom by running away and forming Maroon communities. Upon arrival into the new world many slaves would run away as another attempt to escape slavery; initiating another transition in slave rebellion, from African dominated to maroonage. Maroonage was a powerful expression of slave resistance because it allowed slaves to enjoy the freedom they once had or longed to have. Running away from plantations was a frequent practice. It was often attempted when there was hope of great success such as the availability of mountainous areas or dense forests. This was common in Caribbean countries such as Jamaica, Trinidad, Cuba, Hispaniola and Dominica. While in the new world, slaves had a better opportunity to achieve freedom by escaping from plantations rather than waiting to be emancipated or to be regarded as free. Maroon communities were formed and grew rapidly. This caused the ratio of White to Black to become disproportionate and strength ruled in favour of the Africans. The enslaved commonly retreated to the mountains

In fact, the Confederate flag is now in question as a device to distinguish the organization as it has been deemed a symbol of bigotry and injustice toward African Americans in the south. The Ku Klux Klan has had a continuing impact on American history. Some of our world s most pollutants places have damaging effects, such as birth defects, the loss of thirty to forty IQ points, and life expectancy may be as low as forty five years because of cancer and other diseases. This is enough reason alone to continue to address the problem of pollution. Pollution is when the air, water, land, and environment is made dirty and unsafe to use. This is done by contamination of the natural environment, which can be tangible to intangible. According to a non profit organization named Pure Earth, toxic pollution affects more than two hundred million people worldwide. These pollutants are created from different elements and affect our society and the human race in several ways. There are many types of pollutions, such as air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, food pollution, and land pollution that have been affecting our world greatly and the human race that live in it. Newton s three laws of motion consists of the first law which is the concepts of inertia, second law which is relating acceleration to its cause and lastly the third law which is action and reaction. Next is Newton s second law of motion also known as the Law of Force and Acceleration . He was the first to recognize the relationship between force and mass in the production of acceleration. This discovery became one of the most central rules of nature that was able to shape the form of physics. The law states; The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object . This is usually expressed by the equation Force= mass x acceleration (F=ma). The law also states that the smaller the object the higher the acceleration there will be and vise versa the larger the object the smaller the acceleration will be. The acceleration of an object depends on the net force acted on the object and the mass of the object. If the mass and net force is both doubled then the acceleration will remain unchanged. This law also gives a explanation for why objects with different masses are able to fall with equal/same acceleration. If the object is only acted on by the gravitational force then air resistance is negligible which is called free fall. During free fall the acceleration of the objects also depends on its inertia and uses the equation Force/mass=gravity (F /m=g), g always

To deal with these problems we have come up with multiple marketing recommendations. In order to get rid of the reputation of bad service Time Warnerhas to advertise their new and improved customer service so that people will want to buy from Time Warner Cable. One way to start improving customer service is to offer online survey so that the customers know that their opinion is whats most important to Time Warner Cable. • 38. Definition Of Pop Culture Popular culture can be defined in many ways. John Fiske referred to it as social circulation of meanings, values, and pleasures, to the processes of forming social identities and social relationships, and to entering into relation with the larger social order in a particular way and from a particular position (Cocarla, Foundations of Popular Culture+ Ways of Seeing ) while Raymond Williams referred to culture as an activity and the process of individual enrichment and, most importantly, a group s particular way of life (Cocarla, Foundations of Popular Culture+ Ways of Seeing ). Those definitions may seem like a lot to unpack. Essentially, however, it is clear that culture is a concept which is shaped and molded by people and the relationships between them. It is about the people that it represents. People change. Society changes. So too, then, does culture. I believe it is dynamic, ever changing, consistently being updated to reflect the people in a given society at any given point in time. It is not a stagnant, textbook topic which can be easily defined and parsed. Rather, it must be defined in terms of some cultural context, and one must keep in mind that there are many sometimes conflicting definitions of popular culture. The first wave of feminism was concerned with challenging the basic ideas of womanhood (Cocarla, Feminist Popular Culture Theory ). It is important to understand what such a challenge means and what this might have to do with

Jitter and shimmer are measures of the cycle to cycle variations of fundamental frequency and amplitude, respectively, which have been largely used for the description of pathological voice quality. Jitter is also known as frequency perturbation and refers to the minute involuntary variations in the timing variability between cycles of vibration. In essence, it is a measure of frequency variability in comparison to the client s fundamental frequency. Research shows that jitter values in normal voices range from 0.2 to 1 percent. The vocal note produced by the vibrations of the vocal folds is complex and made up of periodic (regular and repetitive) and aperiodic (irregular and non repetitive) sound waves. The aperiodic waves are random noise introduced into the vocal signal owing to irregular or asymmetric adduction (closing) of the vocal folds. Noise impairs the clarity of the vocal note and too much noise is perceived as hoarseness. The Harmonics to Noise (HNR) ratio is a measure of the proportion of harmonic sound to noise in the voice measured in decibels. (Ferrand, 2007). HNR quantifies the relative amount of additive noise (Awen Frankel, 1994) The lower the HNR, the more noise in the voice. Laryngeal pathology may lead to poor adduction of the vocal folds and, therefore, increase the amount of random noise in the vocal note. If a person has some kind of problem in vibrating the vocal folds, due to a growth, paralysis of one or both vocal folds, or other kind of laryngeal problem, a larger amount of air escapes during vibration, creating turbulent noise. (Pabon Plomp, 1988) The greater the proportion of noise, the greater the perceived hoarseness, breathiness or roughness and the lower the HNR figure will be, i.e. a low HNR indicates a high level of hoarseness, and a high HNR indicates a low level of hoarseness. There is a strong relationship between how we perceive voice quality and the harmonic to noise ratio (Ferrand, 2007).

His date of birth and death are still a mystery to modern day historians, ranging anywhere between the twelfth to eighth century BCE. As to where he was born, no one knows the exact location. Although there are many mysteries revolving around Homer s life, there is one known fact: his epics changed history forever. Homer s epics are one of the only few artifacts historians have to learn about Homer, which can reveal a lot if read carefully. After reading the Iliad, it became clear that Homer was an early Humanist, one who possibly shaped or inspired the Humanist movement in Classical Greece during the fifth and fourth century BCE. The Humanist movement during Classical Greece glorified the human body, which can be shown through the many sculptures and paintings created during the era. These sculptures resembled the ideal human body, the body every Greek should strive to achieve. The ideal body type was that of an athlete (PBS, 2017). There are hints of this image of the ideal body in Homer s Iliad. The section of the text that indicates that Homer can be an early humanist is when he writes, Here was the ugliest man who ever came to Troy. Bandy legged he was, with one foot clubbed, both shoulders humped together, curving over his caved in chest, and bobbing above them his skull warped to a point, sprouting clumps of scraggly, woolly hair (Homer 750 BCE, 250 255). Embezzlement, A Costly White Collar Crime Essay Embezzlement, A Costly White Collar Crime When an employer hires a new employee, they expect that employee to perform the work that is asked of them so that they can receive a paycheck. One of the most common crimes they commit is embezzlement. Embezzlement occurs when a person in a position of trust takes or misappropriates funds that they have been entrusted with and converts them for their own benefit.
