Kat and Hale s powerful bond and the history of their relationship, something I
thought would never be explained. Already, the book was surprising me with its

movie is set down south in Georgia focusing on the life of Miss Daisy. As the
movie opens Daisy is in her car trying to back out when she accidentally backs her

chauffeur but she was resistant to the idea of having a driver. Stubborn and

Miss Daisy at times can be very cantankerous and difficult to understand. Never the
less Hoke is chipper and able to go with the flow and stay in her good graces. She
even began to teach him to read and at Christmas gave him a book she said was not
a Christmas present. Hoke at some point during the movie purchases Miss Daisy s
car. A short time later they embark on a journey to her brother Walter s 90th
birthday. They spend that time sharing stories and discussing their lives.
Eventually after a few more trials they reach their destination. In the last part of
the story Idella passes away and they show the next few years of Miss Daisy and
Hoke s life go by. They attend the Martin Luther King speech where Daisy has
some shocking race revelations. As the movie progresses Miss Daisy s health is
declining, it is possible she has Alzheimer s at that point. It is evident by the end of
the movie that they have become dear friends despite her illness and their rocky
beginning. The director does not show that Miss Daisy dies but Hoke did appear to
visit Miss Daisy one last time in the Nursing
