Originality In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead
Originality is a hard trait to maintain, it can change due to the expectations of the public causing
people to change their trait. This can cause a person to lose their originality and influences them in
a bad manner. Ayn Rand challenged this ideology and through her novels, she proved that
individuality is a better philosophy. Ayn Rands The Fountainheadis an attack on collectivism, an
entity overpowering creativity and individualism.
Howard Roark is first used by Ayn Rand to defy the rationality of tradition set by Stanton
University. By doing so, he ends up getting expelled by creating a radical final project of the year.
Ayn Rand explains this through the argument between Roark and the Dean. Roark broke the
tradition of designing Renaissance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Cage Research Paper
John Cage is a controversial composer. Some may say he revolutionized music composition and
changed music history of the 20th century, yet others do not even acknowledge his compositional
contributions as music. I believe John Cage was a brilliant artist, and his works push the boundaries
of both sound and musicto create a genre of his own by using the elements of silence and chance.
Through his compositional development, one can track his changing music philosophy as it grew
from a limited notion of silence, to the enjoyment of the element of chance, to a redefined
meaning of silence that reaches beyond the grasp of most innovators still today. In a recording of
Cage s piece Seven2 one can hear a landscape created through sporadic sound.... Show more content

The Juilliard Journal referred to John Cage s compositional experimentation as transforming a
familiar instrument into something enticingly alien. Cage began experimenting with instruments
early in his musical career by first altering pianos with metal plates and screws before playing
them. In the 1960 s Cage began a new movement appropriately titled found Sound. ( John Cage:
About the Composer ). He used unconventional instruments such as handheld radios, water, and
sea shells. He was pushing the boundaries of music by claiming that sound is a form of music.
The randomness of it added an element of chance to these experiments, some recordings could
never be duplicated. What makes the music of John Cage easily recognizable is it s
unpredictability. The two well known pieces employing chance operations are Imaginary
Landscape No 4″ and Water Music. While I personally find these pieces hard to listen to, Cage
s philosophy regarding the role of chance within music is an important development in the world
of music history, for it led to him furthering the definition of music. Music doesn t have to be
written and replicated specifically for it to be considered a fully composed and developed work.
Imaginary Landscape No 4, consisting of twelve radios played at once sounds different every time
based on the broadcasts playing, yet it is still a fully developed musical

The Importance Of Ethnic Conflict In Tangerines
Tangerines is a movie about finding humanity and respect during a time of ethnic conflict. Ethnicity
is the major focus of this film, with the smaller scale hatred and resentment between the Chechen
Ahmed and Georgian Nika set in the context of the war between Georgia and Abkhazia for
Abkhazian separation. The Estonian Ivo helps Ahmed and Nika set aside their ethnic differences to
realize that they are both human beings. This film shows the Soviet Legacies on ethnic conflict
within the current Post Soviet space. Tangerines opens on Ivo, an Estonian living in Abkhazia is
one of two men left in his village. Most Estonians returned to Estonia after the war in Abkhazia
broke out. Abkhazia is a region in Georgia that wanted to rejoin Russia. A war broke out with
Georgians on one side, Abkhazians, and Russians on the other. In the movie, Ivo makes wooden
crates to put tangerines in that his neighbor Margus picks. One day, two Chechen mercenaries,
hired by the Russian government, drop by looking for food. They go on their way but soon get into
a skirmish with three Georgians in front of Margus house. One Chechen, Ahmed, and one Georgian,
Nika, survive the firefight, and Ivo brings them both to his home to heal. Both the Chechen and the
Georgian hate each other and want to kill one another, but Ivo makes them promise not to kill one
another inside his house. Over time, they begin to respect each other. At one point, an Abkhazian
military regiment comes to the house, and

Huck Finn Obstacles
The ambitions In life we all have different goals, so, do the characters in both these books. They
each granted different goals in different ways of their own. The first goal was peace and without
peace no one can co operate with the other or with the enemy. Example, In Huck Finn, when
Huck met Jim at the Jackson Island and once he knew more about him, like having a family,
feelings etc. He began protecting him by hiding him. Jim also does the same thing and he began
to treat Huck as his own son, though, he knew that Huck pops was racist. He also began being a
father figure to him and it shows that without the other, they would not have been free at the end
because they needed each other. Another example, in Long Walk, when Mandela came back from
Ethiopia, he continued working with the ANC as always and this time he included a white person
in it though it was not permitted. He knew that that person will be able to help him and give him all
the information he needed. Therefore, these examples show that in order to achieve the... Show

In human nature it s sometimes hard for two races or cultures to be in one unite because one can
not understand the other. Without people being united nothing can be accomplished, there will
always be conflicts and nothing would go on and on. Example, If we go back in Huck Finn we
realize that though Huck and Jim were strangers to each other, they had to find a way to be
united, to work things together. Also another, example from Long Walk to Freedom, before
Mandela went to prison the third time, he and his comrades from the ANC campaign, they
figured that if they don t come up with a plan, the whites will take everything from them. So they
decided to divide into groups and each group had a certain area in which they will send a

Gelada Baboons
Food distribution helped gelada baboons to reproduce. On the Semen Mountains of Ethiopia,
they have plentiful grass that can support a large herd. Baboons do not seem to be protective of
their feeding ground. Not only from each other but also Walia Ibex which lives on the mountain

much trimmed. A part of their chest, palm and face is bare skin. They have long and narrower
face from the sides. The mouth is very wide lips are directed inward. Even though they are grass
eating they have large canine teeth. Mostly used during the fight between the alpha males. They

Masculinity In Malboro Man
Just like women are pressured by the need to act feminine, men are pressured by the need to act
masculine. They have to prove themselves superior, independent, and physically powerful else they
aren t seen as a proper man. Nearly every male is judged by this standard which constantly
pressures them into roles they may not want to fulfill. Young boys and men within society
constantly face the problem of having to meet the standards of the ideal manby having to prove their
masculinitywhich limits the actions that they can perform and conceals their true personality. To
begin with, men within society have to prove that their masculinity. This is seen within Leonard

Within Theroux s same essay, he writes about how men who pursue creative arts, which are
obnoxious to the manly ideal , are negatively judged since there is something wrong with those
who seek uncompetitive and solitary professions. Certain fields are seen as going against the male
culture that has been established due to its implications of solitude and casual work that goes
against the tough and competitive male. He further writes about how men are urged away from
these unnatural behaviors by being placed in sports, the Boy Scouts, or a boy s camp (Theroux).
Not only are some actions viewed negatively, but the pressure to do certain actions that promote
masculinity exists as well. Rebecca Walker s essay, Putting Down the Gun , describes her
anecdotal observations of how her son feels the need to enter sports or play violent games in order
to fit in and draw attention when he was otherwise ignored despite his other interest. The need to
conform to the general stereotypes of a male, sports and violence, is promoted in Walker s situation
since the interests of her son wasn t good enough. The limitations placed on men to promote their
masculinity inhibits them showing who they really

Gender Differences In The Wonder Woman, Like Superman
Throughout my research paper I am going to compare and contrast the differences between how
everyday people look at a female superhero, like Wonder Woman, and male superhero, like
Superman. In the paper, I would like to look at the differences in the amount of clothing Wonder
Woman has on and the amount of clothes a male superheronormally has on. I would also like to
look at the physical differences the two genders have when it comes to muscle physique.
Another interesting topic to look at is how we look at a female character and a male character, as
in who the intended audience is. I would like to look at superhero action figures, and show how
the boy toy section differs from the girl section when it comes to superheroes. Even though
Wonder Woman is just as powerful and important as other male superheros she is often easily
centered out from other superheroes because of her physique, lack of clothes, sex appeal and her
gender.
One could use this source in order to compare and contrast the differences between the boy toy
sections and the girl toy sections in stores. In the article, Paige Averett explains how her and her
friend went to the store to look for a Wonder Woman toy, but failed to find a single Wonder Woman
action figure. Averett explains, No Wonder Woman. But even more fascinating was that she was on
a group of packages but not actually made into a figurine. Wonder Woman is a character in the
League of Justice, and all the other characters, all male,

The New Constitution Of Nepal
Murari Sharma
Hundreds of Nepalis protested against the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 November
in front of the iconic British parliament, when he visited there. They shouted slogans against Modi
and India, triggered by the allegedly Indian unofficial economic blockade of Nepal, after the new
constitution of Nepal was promulgated on 20 September 2015. This mirrors the growing tension
between Nepal and India, helping neither country.
The new constitution which came after the Maoist insurgency that took 15,000 lives, abolition of
monarchy, election of the Constituent Assembly for the second time, and devastating earthquakes
in April and May this year should have been a matter of happiness and celebration across the
country. But unfortunately, that has not been the case.
On the contrary, a section of the population in the plains known as Terai have been protesting
against the statute which they find not inclusive enough and does not meet their demand for one or
two exclusive provinces for the Terai people. To force the government to amend the new charter,
they have also picketing at a few Nepal India border points, around which they are strongly
represented.
They have mainly picketed Raxaul and a few other places, while most other border points remain
free of obstruction. Yet India has reduced to trickle the movement of trucks from both sides
especially carrying petroleum products and medicines, at all border points, citing insecurity in
Nepal.

Sacrifice In The Giver
Sacrifice, this word is powerful for it has endless meanings among different individuals.
Sacrificing is very common in today s world, you may see someone donating items to a charity or
lending some money to a friend, but these sacrifices are considered miniscule when compared to
true sacrifice. True sacrificeis offering something that is of massive importance to that person for
example in one such novel The Giver, Lois Lowry writes about how the protagonist Jonas made
the sacrifice of his life in order to unshackle the chains of his society and allow its citizens to gain
the knowledge that he thinks they are required to know, as well as save the life of a child. The
child in The Giver is known as Gabriel, and is used in the story as a scapegoat in order for Jonas
to pursue his goal of sharing his memories. In his society, imperfection is frowned upon and

Adam Smith s View Of Capitalism
Q3. Adam Smith was a professor at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Adam Smith defended
the ideas of a free economy or a free market. He wrote about his ideas in his book The Wealth of
Nations. In his book, he addressed three main claims that he believed backed up his thesis of
capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system in which the production is privately owned and
money is invested for the purpose of a profit. Adam Smiths main belief was that the government
should have no control within a business.
Adam Smith was the founder of the capitalism theory. He strongly believed that the government
should not interfere with the businesses. To back up his claims about the government, he wrote his

Adam Smith would argue that competition would force people to make better products.
Honestly, I would agree with his claim on competition. I agree because, when you are faced with
competition, you want to make yourself better than the other person. For example, if you had
your on business and someone else decided to start up a business similar to yours, competition
would begin quickly. The other new business would come as a threat, you would need to ensure
that your current consumers stayed with your business. If you began to lose consumers to your
competitor, your business would not last very long. With Adam Smith s law of competition, it
would quite literally force business owners to make better products. Consumers were looking for
the best product with the cheapest price. For example, your business sold a phenomenal product;
however, your latest rival also sold the same satisfying product for a cheaper price. The consumer
would learn more towards the business that sold the product for the lower price. In the end, as a
business owner, you would want to sell the best quality of your product at the lowest price
possible. The law of competition would ensure the consumer with a win win situation, consider the
quality and low price of the

Sarojini Naidu Essay
Poetry is a pleasure giving medium. This medium is handled by different poets in the world. Most
of the poets in India present their poetry in their mother tongue only. Those who present poetry in
languages other their own have not succeeded so well as Sarojini Naidu.
There are not many in India who have written poetry in English. Among them, Sarojini Naidu
stands first. Her poems are praised not only in India, but all over the world.
Though she has written poems on religion, country, women s freedom, etc., her poems on nature
occupy the first place in her poetry. Even in sorrow, her nature poems glow with a touch of her
suffering.
Sarojini Naidu was a distinguished poet, renowned freedom fighter and one of the great orators of
her time. She was famously known as Bharatiya Kokila (The Nightingale of India). Sarojini Naidu
was the first Indian woman to become the President of the Indian National Congress and the first

Human Sacrifice In Aztec Culture
Human sacrifice is considered immoral in today s value. However, this is not the case in ancient
civilizations. The Aztec civilization that grew out of Mesoamerica region in the 14th century was
proven to be practicing human sacrifice. The deep rooted belief that people are indebted to Gods
makes sacrifice a big part of Aztecculture. According to the Aztec creation myth, Gods sacrifice
themselves for the creation of the Earth. Therefore, human sacrificeturns out to be the way Aztecan
repays their Gods. The most common procedure of human sacrifice consists of four main steps:
selection of victims, preparation, torture, and body dismemberment. The most fundamental part of
the human sacrifice process is to find victims to be presented as offerings. Usually, victims were
chosen from captives during warfare.
In fact, there were wars fought solely for the purpose of finding human source for sacrifice. It
was believed that the higher ranked, the most handsome, and the bravest on the battlefield are the
most desirable for the Gods. Candidates for sacrifice were also be selected through the defeated

Essay On Fibroids In African American Women
On the case of vitamin D, women of African American origin tend to be deficient of this vitamin.

It has been observed that African American women tend to procrastinate visiting a gynecologist
for fibroids checkup. It is estimated that 32% of women of this race tend to wait about five years
to seek medical attention in comparison to 17% of the white women (HealthDay, n.d.). A theory
behind waiting is due to the normalization of systems. For example according to Dr. Newsome,
having fibroids is almost considered normal among AA women. AA Women develop fibroids at a
younger age and have more symptoms and therefore it is difficult to know what is unacceptable
or not when your a black girl who s has a 10 day period like your mom, aunts and cousins.
These methods, though very crucial and very expensive, require a professional gynecologist who
can perform a thorough pelvic exam. The most common method of diagnosis is the ultrasound. This
is a method that, as its name suggests, uses sounds of very high frequency to obtain a diagnosis of
the uterus. The sounds produced an image of the uterus and which can be observed on a screen.
From the screen, the internal organs and the fibroids, if present, can be observed. If the clarity of
the images is not good, a transvaginal ultrasound can be used. This is a method that uses a device
that is inserted into the vagina to produce clearer images. The proximity of this device to the uterus
enables it to produce much clearer images.
A third method is an x ray is one of the most common methods of producing images of

A swamp is a wetland that has a very high concentration of woody plants. The soil has a very
lackluster drainage system and retains the majority of its water that it soaks up. Swamps are
deeper than marshes (another type of wetland) which can be about 3 feet deep. You can find a
swamp on slow moving streams, rivers, or low isolated areas. An example of an area that low
and isolated would be the Everglades in Florida, which are a massive system of wetlands.
Although you may think of a swamps as having mainly trees, some swamps are completely
dominated by shrubs. Those are the two categories of a swamp: Shrubs and Trees. Swamps are a
wetland, and wetlands are known for having an abundance of animals, some of those are:
Alligators, beavers, otters, snakes, insect, bobcats, and very large amounts of birds. Swamps
have rich soils for sustaining plant life as in the cypress tree. Cypress trees have a reputation of
being able to sustain being submerged in water and not dying from it. This is most stems from the
fact that the cypress tree grows with its roots and part of its base

Irish Schools Vs American Schools
(Hook Statement) Irish and American schools are very different and similar in many ways. All
Irish primary Irish schools are free while American colleges and private schools cost money. Most
Irish schools are linked with the catholic church while most american public schools are linked with
the county. Overall, Irish and American schools are very different. Expectations in the Irish school
systems are higher than the US because of exams, the classes you take determine your future, and
extracurricular activities.
In Ireland, there are a lot more exams than in the US and there is a lot more pressure on the Irish

The House in Peru Essays
As I approached the front porch, to the right of the porch was a small garden, which was located
below a window, and both the front porch and the garden were covered by a big, pointy fence.
To my left the garage door would stand, which I ve never seen open. Finally in between the
garden and the garage stood a door. The door lead to my excitement, so I rushed up to the front
porch, opening the gate and walking up 2 big steps, to awaiting my grandmother standing by the
door, waiting to greed me. My grandparents home was the most important thing in my life, this
place is all I recognize from the time I lived in Peru. I left Peru when I was 6 years old, and after a

I recall playing with her under the couch, or in her room. But even though it seemed like Graisy

she would grand me spare candy every so often. When I woke from my dreams I would go to the

All these memories are from my youth. These stories are what I told my friends about, this was

Essay on The Adaptive Parasite
The Adaptive Parasite
Viruses are molecular sharks, a motive without a mind. They have sorted themselves into tribes, and
they infect everything that lives. . . . Unknown viruses are coming out of the equatorial
wildernesses of the earth and discovering the human race. . . . You might call AIDS the revenge of
the rainforest. (Preston 160 61)
After reading Richard Preston s ominous and threatening portrayal of viruses in his article Crisis In
The Hot Zone, one may be alarmed enough to invest in surgical scrubs and a space suit to wear as a
permanent precaution against these evidently vengeful creatures. In truth, there are lethal viruses
that exist for which there is currently no vaccine or cure, and there are various ... Show more content

The process of evolution results when organisms reproduce more individuals than the
environment can support, genetic variation naturally and inevitably occurs, the organisms that
are the most successful within their habitat survive, and those that are deficient and weak are
eliminated. The survivors of this ecological pressure are able to flourish, reproduce, and pass
their favorable genes onto subsequent generations. Many biologists believe that viruses evolved
after the appearance of the first cells and favor the hypothesis that they originated from
fragments of cellular nucleic acids, [DNA or RNA], that could move from one cell to another
within an organism (Campbell, Mitchell, and Reece 330). This theory asserts that a portion of
DNA or RNA initially became separated from the remainder of the cell s genome, and the newly
formed virus then migrated into another cell. Isolated fragments of DNA or RNA would be
biologically inert; therefore, viruses have been engineered by the forces of evolution to maximize
their survival as mobile, parasitic organisms (Preston 159). Viruses, as mere segments of nucleic
acids, have developed various adaptations that ensure their reproduction, their transport from cell to
cell, and their survival at the expense of another organism.
Viruses have adapted a dependency on the cells of another organism, termed a host, to provide both
shelter and a metabolic means of reproduction. Different viruses have evolved

Kant Disinterestedness
Reflective judgement requires taking into account Kant s four factors of beauty: quality, necessity,
universality, and purposiveness. When applying judgement to an object, a person must first inspect
the quality of the object. Whether or not an object is able to instill the feeling of pleasure or
displeasure on the observer. However, the pleasure one acquires from an object must not be limited
to the observer s personal desires. That is, he must not secretly crave the objects. By suppressing
one s desire for an object, the observer perverts his judgement of the object. Consequently, in the
section entitled Second Moment , Kant believes that a person judges beauty through the unbiased
concept of disinterestedness. Kant refers to disinterestedness... Show more content on

Kant believes that, when we admire an object, we do so because we are attracted to why we find
the object stimulating. The problem lies in the fact that we cannot locate the source of the object s
purpose. That is to say, the object draws the observer to it, stimulates the senses, and fills the
observer with a yearning to inquire more about the object. For Kant, in order for an object to be
beautiful, we must recognize that the object has a purpose. However, we cannot limit the purpose
of the object based on its utility. These four factors are what Kant believes validates his theory that
judgements of beauty are both subjective and

The Reign Of The Imperial System
Puyi was born in 1906 and crowned emperor in 1908. During that time, China had always been
under the imperial system, where one dynasty was ruled by one family, essentially through the idea
of heredity monarchy. Puyi, who had been proclaimed the son of heaven, followed tradition;
however, his time in being emperor was short lived as the Qing dynastyended in 1912, introducing
the Republic of China. Oblivious to life outside the temple doors, Puyicontinuously assured
himself that he was still in charge; it wasn t until in 1924, when Puyi was captured by warlords
and forced to leave the Forbidden City. In 1931, Japan invaded northeast China, and the officers
surrendered to Japan. The Japanese asked for assistance in establishing the Manchukuo, which was
granted. In 1934, Puyi was crowned to be a puppet emperor of Manchukuo under the control of
Japan; nevertheless, in 1945, Russia defeated Japan in northeast China. Puyi abdicated his thrown,
was captured by the Russian army, and arrested for betrayal.
Puyi is important because he was the last emperor that marked the complete end to China s long
timeline of dynasties. Through his experience, he had witnessed and held gargantuan amount of
power over so many people, just for that power to be stripped from him. Though Puyi didn t like
it, he basically was integrated into a modernized society, where even he could be punished under
the law. Ultimately, Puyi plays a role in modern Chinese society, as it is a learning

(Fisher 2013:5) The years from 0 7 are a period of human development with the capacity to learn.
This quote links into this assignment as it shows how important the first couple of years in a child s
life can affect them the throughout their life. It shows how important it is to have the pioneers
input into the practice and teaching of children as its important they have the best start in life to
help them develop.
In this assignment I am going to compare previous and current pioneers that have and are
influencing the current principles of early year s pedagogy. For example how they are influencing
the four principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This assignment will get me to
look at different views that theorist have to education and how they can be used in current
practice. It will provide me with the information on how they influence early year s pedagogy and
current practice. Throughout this assignment I will be referencing from current reading that I am
doing, these will range from eBooks to articles. I will be using nursery world articles to provide
information about each pioneer and what their work has done for current principles in early year s
pedagogy.
The EYFS is a framework for children up to the of five, it sets out the six key areas of learning
which activities that are planned for children should be based upon. It also sets the learning and
development requirements that practitioners must follow for children below the age of five. The

Motivation Statement For Motivation In Psychology
In this statement I describe my motivation for seeking graduate training in psychology at Georgia
State University. It is my aim to continue my education in psychology, with the goal of pursuing a
career that contributes to our understanding of cognitive abilities in both humans and non human
primates. My involvement in the academic community at the University of Georgia has contributed
greatly to the refinement of my academic and career goals. Through my involvement in service
organizations such as the Undergraduate Neuroscience Organization (UNO), I have gained a
greater interest in how studies of the brain contribute to our understanding of the causes and
treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. I have theoretical research interests in comparative
cognition, human animal studies, and primatebehavior. Specifically, I am interested in how
cognitive abilities such as memory and attention function in primates and how this functioning
compares to that of humans. These research interests developed throughout my undergraduate
coursework, research, and internship experiences. As an undergraduate student at the University of
Georgia, I have taken a holistic approach to my education, combining a psychological and
anthropological perspective to understand how the brain works both individually and across
different species. I am confident that my education thus far has prepared me for the rigor of
interdisciplinary doctoral coursework. My undergraduate coursework not only underscored

Essay On Classroom Transition
The number of children participating in a group care setting has drastically risen over the past
decade (U.S Department of Education 2007). In an Early Childhood setting challenging behavior
may arise during transitional times (Hemmeter, Ostrosky, Artman Kinder, 2008). Transitions cause
students to stop what they are doing, perform long chain of tasks, and begin a new activity, all
without breaking classroom rules (McIntosh, Herman Sanford, 2004). Dealing with transitions
multiple times a day in my own classroom setting has led me to the question: What strategies can
teachers employ to decrease transition timeand increase the amount of studenttime on task?

If the students transitional time exceeded the time on the card, students would not receive a letter
for that day. Thus, the dependent variable in this study was the students transitional time from the
hallway to the classroom; the independent variable was the use of the TGG; and the measure was
the duration of each transition. A withdrawal design was used to gauge the game s effectiveness.
During the three day baseline phase, it took students more than 2.5 min to transition into the
classroom each day. After the first intervention phase began, transitional time decreased to an
average of 59 s, and no transition exceeded 2 min. (There were still 3 days, however, in which the
students did not meet the criteria on the transition card.) The treatment phase ended when students
earned their first party, and then the teacher withdrew the TGG. The first day without the TGG
showed a minimal increase in transitional time, but the subsequent days showed a return to baseline
levels. When the teacher reinstated the game, transitional times reduced again even to below initial
treatment levels (range: 33 55 s). A short withdrawal produced a return to 7 baseline levels before
the teacher permanently reinstated the TGG.

North Carolina. General duties of this field would be equipment maintenance, time management,

The, The Royal Slave, A True History
People of certain social classes sometimes have stereotyped characteristics pinned to them. Rich
people might be seen as snobbish while poor people might be seen as unmotivated to improve
themselves. The characters in Oroonoko, The Royal Slave, A True History, also have
characteristics based on the social classto which they belong. During the eighteenth century, social
class became a topic of interest in Britain. The characters in Oroonoko can be grouped into three
social classes based on the level of power they have. One class is the rulers such as the King of
Coramatien and Deputy Governor Byam. Next are the people who are neither rulers nor slaves
such as Aboan, Mr. Trefry, and Colonel Martin. Finally, there are the slaves. Because of

The narrator says that when the King saw how Imoinda, a young woman with whom he has
fallen in love, reacted to the gift he sent her in Oroonoko s name, it gave him some affliction, but
he salved it (Behn 2143). Here, the narrator explains that the King was very upset when he saw
that Imoinda was in love with Oroonoko, but he ridded himself of these sad feelings by sending
her the royal veil which forced her to become one of his wives. This shows that the King has a
selfish nature because he could not overcome his desire for Imoinda and let her marry
Oroonoko. This selfishness leads him to betray Oroonoko. Both the King and Byam show
disloyalty since they betray Oroonoko which establishes negative character. This disloyalty is
also distinct to those who are of a high social class position because they are deliberately
betraying Oroonoko as opposed to doing it unintentionally. Because negative traits, such as
disloyalty, are given to characters who have governmental power, a link between negative
character and high social class characters can be established. Another link which can be seen
between social class positon and character is through the characters who are neither rulers nor
slaves having positive character traits. These characters are a middle class by the fact that they do
not rule a colony or country, but they also are not slaves. Also, all of these characters exhibit positive

Chapel Service Psychology
The actually had two chapel services that were my favorite the first was the chapel service
where Ryan Nunez spoke and the second was the chapel service where Deb Wade spoke. When
Ryan spoke it was a surprise to hear that guilt was an unexpected gift that God have us. Also,
having Deb who is a psychologist speak to us was entirely amazing as I am fascinated with
psychology. As for Ryan s message he talked about godunexpected gift of guilt which leads to
shame. He also spoke about how it is your choice to admit your sin to God and obtain repentance.
An example that he used was in 2 Samuel 11 and 12 which was when David lusted after
Bathsheba. Bathsheba s husband, Uriah was in David s army and he ended up killing him in a
way. He sent Bathsheba s husband, Uriah to the front lines where he knew that he would be killed
and this happened because David lusted after her. David felt guilt from this and eventually he felt
shame. I think... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two points that I remember were number one, which was to lose some weight inside and
number two, pop pimples. What she meant by point one us that we need to lose the burden of
shame which kind of correlates with what Ryan spoke about. I learned that I need to get rid of
those voices that are hurtful now and anything that was said in the past. Also, I need to
remember that I am not a mistake when I am feeling down, no one is a mistake and no one
should ever think that they are! God loves us because he was the one who created us. Deb also
spoke about some spiritual exercise that we should follow. I will try to remember these spiritual
exercises in the past. I really loved this message as it seemed very relatable to me. There were
times that I feel down, but because of I remembered this message I felt better. I plan remember
these points in the future and remember that I am not a mistake and God loves me for who I

June Johnson Illegal Immigration Analysis
Immigration:
A Discussion with No End
The issue of illegal immigration has become a major debate for everyone. June Johnson wrote
Crossing Borders: Immigration in her book Global Politics, Local Arguments to introduce the topic
of undocumented immigrants in the U.S expanding and the measures that the government has
taken to solve the problem. In Chapter 4, Johnson presented Victor Davis Hanson, who wrote
Illegal Immigration Is Immoral to expose how the proposals to fix illegal immigration has lost all
moral credibility. Krishnadev Calamur wrote What Trump s Executive Order on Immigration Does

hoping to get a chance at a better life; others are refugees escaping persecution and civil wars in
their home country. Krishnadev Calamur wrote about Donald Trump s Executive Order 1187
and how Donald Trump had made it his goal to ban all Muslims from the start of his campaign
and seeing that those countries were in Barack Obama s visa waiver program he took advantage
and used it to ban all seven countries (5). The grand result of this ban ended in people coming
together to protest at several airports across the country where people with valid documentation
were detained. This ban had a great impact that a multitude of citizens, lawyers, demonstrators, and
the media descended to witness the order s impact, but Trump tried to dismiss the reality of the
impact by tweeting, Only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning. (15),
when it was a lot more than that. The S. 2458 introduced n Senate mentions, To amend section
217(a) (12) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, relating to the restriction of the use of the Visa
Waiver Program for aliens who travel to certain countries. (3). This demonstrates what Hanson and
Johnson have been trying to present; that there is no humane way of handling undocumented
immigrants and that the day when government has made it possible to fix this problem is far from
being created

Eosinophilic esophagitis
Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, immune mediated condition (T helper cell 2 allergen

include: symptoms of esophageal dysfunction, minimum 15 eosinophils in at least one high power
microscopy field on biopsy and exclusion of other potential causes as the most important
differential diagnosis is GERD [13]. Symptoms can be non specific. In infancy, the major
complaints include food intolerance and failure to thrive. Abdominal pain, food impaction, nausea

Associated morbidities of SIBO are anemia, malabsorption, and malnutrition [14].
Diagnosis can be made with the hydrogen glucose breath test. However, a methane measurement
improves the sensitivity of the hydrogen breath test and decreases false positive results. Hydrogen
production originates from non digestable lactose. In patients with CF, the colonic flora frequently
does not produce hydrogen, whereas the methane production is higher [19].
Treatment (Table 3) includes antibiotics, especially orally, with improvement of fat digestion and
absorption [15]. Other treatment options are pre and probiotics. Prebiotics are selectively fermented
ingredients that promote specific changes in the composition and activity in the gastrointestinal
microflora that will benefit the flora. They are not metabolized by pathogenic bacterial strains and
induce a proliferation of the beneficial microbionts [20]. Probiotics are live bacteria that provide a
positive effect on the inflammatory response of the gastrointestinal tract by improving the
endothelial intestinal barrier, diminishing the bacterial adhesion, lowering the pH intraluminal and
enhancing the production of nitrogen oxide [19, 20]. De Lisle et al. also showed a positive effect
of laxativa and N acetylcysteine. Mucus accumulation was reduced by 43% and 50% respectively

Extracurricular Activities In Schools Essay
Can being involved in extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school help students
increase their chances of doing well during school? Many people in school, no matter what age
or grade one may be in, are involved in some type of extracurricular. Of this same group,
however, some only participate due to their guardians deciding what they will be involved in as a
child. Whether it be attached to the school they attend or not, many people aren t aware of the
many positive effects that extracurriculars may have on their own self, or their child. An integral
part of extracurriculars are the students themselves. Without the students showing if they are able
to further develop any life skills while participating in the activity, then the teachers and coaches of
the like will continue to provide a means for this activity to take place, making everything that any
student learns while partaking in this activity useless and not worth any students time. While being
involved in extracurricular activities can help boost one s confidence in the activity they choose to
be participating in, during school the activity can also help develop an individual s sense of
learning and sense of being that they would not get the chance to experience otherwise. One of the
many important qualities that a student can develop while in school is their personality which can
evolve from participating in extracurriculars. In the article A Dual Step Transfer Model: Sport and

A Report On Malibu Farm
It was my older sister s birthday and we were trying to figure out what to do for her big day. As
we tried to figure out the details the night before, as to what our Saturday would entail, we hoped
that it was going to be eventful. After we finalized the details we came to the conclusion that we
were going to go to MalibuFarm.
Malibu Farm is located in Malibu, California. The location of it is located at the end of the Malibu
Pier. The idea of Malibu Farm came about when owner Helene started doing cooking classes in her
back yard, and decided to open a cafГ© at the end of Malibu Pier. Malibu Farm is not a big
corporation and is in fact a small business. Their food is organically prepared and there s nothing

Where do you start when talking about Samuel de Champlain s success? Cartographer,

Canada that cannot go unrecognized. This will take us through the most vital stories throughout
Samuel de Champlain s life and his revolution of explorations. To begin, we look at the all the
voyages he made, making progress and change after each and every single one. This was usually
by setting up alliances, trades and finding new discoveries. His first voyage in 1603 consisted of

The Population Of The Solent Oyster Population
Ostrea edulis populations are in decline worldwide throughout a wide geographical range from
Norway over Morocco to the Black Sea, with current stock level estimates below those made during
the 1800s (Anon, 2007). O. edulis population from the Solent is one of these declining populations
with several collapses during the last century.
The reasons of the last decline in the Solent oyster population from 2006 are still unknown. This
species has constituted an important fishery in the Solent with commercial explotation since 1800
s. Due to some life characteristics of this species oyster beds are very vulnerable to commercial
exploitation and overfishing (Laing et al., 2005; Orton, 1927c). However, other hypotheses point to
trends in increasing sea temperatures, habitat degradation, chemical and physical pollution.
Recent studies have analysed the current situation on reproductive parameters of O. edulis
population finding a significant reduction in the number of brooding female phase oysters (Eagling,
2012), reduction on fecundity of brooding oysters and skewed sex ratio towards male phase oyster
(Eagling, 2012; Kamphausen, 2011). Athough a number of speculations for this behaviour have
been made, the factors causing this change in sex phase in O. edulis remain unknown.
Hormones controlling the development of secondary sexual organs in molluscs are poorly
understood and more research on this topic is need to clarify the cause of male bias and most

The Problem Of A Dichotomy Of Civil And Ethnic Nationalism
Not only economic, but also political realities of global process of democratization of the 1990s of
the 20th century had impact on development of the political analysis of nationalism, having
stabilized a problem of the analysis of a ratio of civil and ethnic nationalism not so much in general
theoretical, but in a regional direction.
The problem of a dichotomy of civil nationalism (as inherent mainly in countries of Western Europe
and North America) and ethnic nationalism (widespread, according to the standard version, in the
countries of the Central and Eastern Europe) became a subject of scientific discussion.
Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA were distinguished as a political
type. Ideas of nation and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second half of the 1990s, the problem of conceptualization of national identity is
characterized by the shift of emphasis on definition like national identification in the countries of
democratic post socialist transit. The considerable group of the researchers specializing in the field
of the political analysis of nationalism in post socialist New Europe remained on former positions
and referred to the features of national identity of the countries of this region to ethnic type. It is
possible to determine such prominent experts in nationalism problems in countries of Eastern
Europe as Rogers Brubaker and George Schopflin.
Brubaker puts forward the provision on prevalence in type of national identity of transit
democracies of Eastern Europe and Eurasia of ethno cultural aspect and lack of necessary
conditions for an interiorization of patterns of civil national identity. R. Brubaker comes to a
conclusion that in these countries, the creation of statehood was preceded by the nationalist
movements, and the state was created in interests of concrete ethno political group. In this regard,
the researcher believes, in the new democratic countries of Eurasia chances of distribution of
patterns of civil identity are very small. In new democracies, there was an institutionalization of the
ethno cultural concept of national identity which is distanced from the idea of civic consciousness
and is focused on transfer of social responsibility to structures of the power.

The Tragedy of the Commons and Collective Action Essay
The tragedy of the commons and the problem of collective action are two key concepts in the
world of political science. They act under the assumption that man is a rational being who will act
in his own self interest. Humanity id broadly diverse meaning that each individual has their own
ideas as to how society should run and how people should live.(heywood) This inevitably results in
disagreement and this is where politics steps in. Aristotle described politics as the master science ,
the activity through which human beings attempt to improve their lives and create the Good
Society. Through the tragedy of the commonsand the problem of collective action we can see how
politics is essentially the search for conflict resolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However Mancur Olson (cite) states in his book that rational self interested individuals will not
act to achieve their common or group interests. Coercion or other incentives are needed for this
to occur. Communication can be used as moral suasion (ostrom) This became known as the zero
contribution thesis . A social dilemma is when individuals choose actions that will affect others
as well as themselves. The individual will aim to benefit themselves short term which generally
results in a lower joint outcome. If the individuals acted collectively they would achieve a better
optimal outcome than the one they would achieve on their own. These social dilemmas have
been characterised in game theory by the prisoners dilemma. They will achieve the Nash
equilibrium which is lower than the socially desirable outcome. This is the problem of collective
action. This is not to say that forms of collective action cannot be seen in everyday world. Mobs,
gangs, cartels, neighbourhood associations, charities and voting are all forms of collective action.
(ostrom) These social dilemmas are related to common pool resources. The problem of free riding
can be an issue. . There has to be governance of common pool resources. If, for example collective
action was man s natural instinct then

  • 2. Originality In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead Originality is a hard trait to maintain, it can change due to the expectations of the public causing people to change their trait. This can cause a person to lose their originality and influences them in a bad manner. Ayn Rand challenged this ideology and through her novels, she proved that individuality is a better philosophy. Ayn Rands The Fountainheadis an attack on collectivism, an entity overpowering creativity and individualism. Howard Roark is first used by Ayn Rand to defy the rationality of tradition set by Stanton University. By doing so, he ends up getting expelled by creating a radical final project of the year. Ayn Rand explains this through the argument between Roark and the Dean. Roark broke the tradition of designing Renaissance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. John Cage Research Paper John Cage is a controversial composer. Some may say he revolutionized music composition and changed music history of the 20th century, yet others do not even acknowledge his compositional contributions as music. I believe John Cage was a brilliant artist, and his works push the boundaries of both sound and musicto create a genre of his own by using the elements of silence and chance. Through his compositional development, one can track his changing music philosophy as it grew from a limited notion of silence, to the enjoyment of the element of chance, to a redefined meaning of silence that reaches beyond the grasp of most innovators still today. In a recording of Cage s piece Seven2 one can hear a landscape created through sporadic sound.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Juilliard Journal referred to John Cage s compositional experimentation as transforming a familiar instrument into something enticingly alien. Cage began experimenting with instruments early in his musical career by first altering pianos with metal plates and screws before playing them. In the 1960 s Cage began a new movement appropriately titled found Sound. ( John Cage: About the Composer ). He used unconventional instruments such as handheld radios, water, and sea shells. He was pushing the boundaries of music by claiming that sound is a form of music. The randomness of it added an element of chance to these experiments, some recordings could never be duplicated. What makes the music of John Cage easily recognizable is it s unpredictability. The two well known pieces employing chance operations are Imaginary Landscape No 4″ and Water Music. While I personally find these pieces hard to listen to, Cage s philosophy regarding the role of chance within music is an important development in the world of music history, for it led to him furthering the definition of music. Music doesn t have to be written and replicated specifically for it to be considered a fully composed and developed work. Imaginary Landscape No 4, consisting of twelve radios played at once sounds different every time based on the broadcasts playing, yet it is still a fully developed musical ... The Estonian Ivo helps Ahmed and Nika set aside their ethnic differences to realize that they are both human beings. • 7. Huck Finn Obstacles The ambitions In life we all have different goals, so, do the characters in both these books. They each granted different goals in different ways of their own. The first goal was peace and without peace no one can co operate with the other or with the enemy. Example, In Huck Finn, when Huck met Jim at the Jackson Island and once he knew more about him, like having a family, feelings etc. He began protecting him by hiding him. Jim also does the same thing and he began to treat Huck as his own son, though, he knew that Huck pops was racist. He also began being a father figure to him and it shows that without the other, they would not have been free at the end because they needed each other. Another example, in Long Walk, when Mandela came back from Ethiopia, he continued working with the ANC as always and this time he included a white person in it though it was not permitted. He knew that that person will be able to help him and give him all the information he needed. Therefore, these examples show that in order to achieve the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In human nature it s sometimes hard for two races or cultures to be in one unite because one can not understand the other. Without people being united nothing can be accomplished, there will always be conflicts and nothing would go on and on. Also another, example from Long Walk to Freedom, before Mandela went to prison the third time, he and his comrades from the ANC campaign, they figured that if they don t come up with a plan, the whites will take everything from them. • 9. Masculinity In Malboro Man Just like women are pressured by the need to act feminine, men are pressured by the need to act masculine. They have to prove themselves superior, independent, and physically powerful else they aren t seen as a proper man. Nearly every male is judged by this standard which constantly pressures them into roles they may not want to fulfill. Young boys and men within society constantly face the problem of having to meet the standards of the ideal manby having to prove their masculinitywhich limits the actions that they can perform and conceals their true personality. To begin with, men within society have to prove that their masculinity. This is seen within Leonard McCombe s picture, Marlboro Man , which portrays a tough and rugged... He further writes about how men are urged away from these unnatural behaviors by being placed in sports, the Boy Scouts, or a boy s camp (Theroux). Not only are some actions viewed negatively, but the pressure to do certain actions that promote masculinity exists as well. Rebecca Walker s essay, Putting Down the Gun , describes her anecdotal observations of how her son feels the need to enter sports or play violent games in order to fit in and draw attention when he was otherwise ignored despite his other interest. The need to conform to the general stereotypes of a male, sports and violence, is promoted in Walker s situation since the interests of her son wasn t good enough. • 10. Gender Differences In The Wonder Woman, Like Superman Throughout my research paper I am going to compare and contrast the differences between how everyday people look at a female superhero, like Wonder Woman, and male superhero, like Superman. In the paper, I would like to look at the differences in the amount of clothing Wonder Woman has on and the amount of clothes a male superheronormally has on. I would also like to look at the physical differences the two genders have when it comes to muscle physique. Another interesting topic to look at is how we look at a female character and a male character, as in who the intended audience is. I would like to look at superhero action figures, and show how the boy toy section differs from the girl section when it comes to superheroes. Even though Wonder Woman is just as powerful and important as other male superheros she is often easily centered out from other superheroes because of her physique, lack of clothes, sex appeal and her gender. One could use this source in order to compare and contrast the differences between the boy toy sections and the girl toy sections in stores. In the article, Paige Averett explains how her and her friend went to the store to look for a Wonder Woman toy, but failed to find a single Wonder Woman action figure. Averett explains, No Wonder Woman. But even more fascinating was that she was on a group of packages but not actually made into a figurine. • 12. The New Constitution Of Nepal Murari Sharma Hundreds of Nepalis protested against the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 November in front of the iconic British parliament, when he visited there. They shouted slogans against Modi and India, triggered by the allegedly Indian unofficial economic blockade of Nepal, after the new constitution of Nepal was promulgated on 20 September 2015. This mirrors the growing tension between Nepal and India, helping neither country. The new constitution which came after the Maoist insurgency that took 15,000 lives, abolition of monarchy, election of the Constituent Assembly for the second time, and devastating earthquakes in April and May this year should have been a matter of happiness and celebration across the country. But unfortunately, that has not been the case. On the contrary, a section of the population in the plains known as Terai have been protesting against the statute which they find not inclusive enough and does not meet their demand for one or two exclusive provinces for the Terai people. To force the government to amend the new charter, they have also picketing at a few Nepal India border points, around which they are strongly represented. They have mainly picketed Raxaul and a few other places, while most other border points remain free of obstruction. Yet India has reduced to trickle the movement of trucks from both sides especially carrying petroleum products and medicines, at all border points, citing insecurity in Nepal. ... Capitalism is an economic system in which the production is privately owned and money is invested for the purpose of a profit. Adam Smiths main belief was that the government should have no control within a business. Adam Smith was the founder of the capitalism theory. I agree because, when you are faced with competition, you want to make yourself better than the other person. For example, if you had your on business and someone else decided to start up a business similar to yours, competition would begin quickly. The other new business would come as a threat, you would need to ensure that your current consumers stayed with your business. If you began to lose consumers to your competitor, your business would not last very long. With Adam Smith s law of competition, it would quite literally force business owners to make better products. Consumers were looking for the best product with the cheapest price. For example, your business sold a phenomenal product; however, your latest rival also sold the same satisfying product for a cheaper price. The consumer would learn more towards the business that sold the product for the lower price. In the end, as a business owner, you would want to sell the best quality of your product at the lowest price possible. The process of evolution results when organisms reproduce more individuals than the environment can support, genetic variation naturally and inevitably occurs, the organisms that are the most successful within their habitat survive, and those that are deficient and weak are eliminated. The survivors of this ecological pressure are able to flourish, reproduce, and pass their favorable genes onto subsequent generations. Many biologists believe that viruses evolved after the appearance of the first cells and favor the hypothesis that they originated from fragments of cellular nucleic acids, [DNA or RNA], that could move from one cell to another within an organism (Campbell, Mitchell, and Reece 330). This theory asserts that a portion of DNA or RNA initially became separated from the remainder of the cell s genome, and the newly formed virus then migrated into another cell. Isolated fragments of DNA or RNA would be biologically inert; therefore, viruses have been engineered by the forces of evolution to maximize their survival as mobile, parasitic organisms (Preston 159). Viruses, as mere segments of nucleic acids, have developed various adaptations that ensure their reproduction, their transport from cell to cell, and their survival at the expense of another organism. Viruses have adapted a dependency on the cells of another organism, termed a host, to provide both shelter and a metabolic means of reproduction. Different viruses have evolved ... However, the pleasure one acquires from an object must not be limited to the observer s personal desires. That is, he must not secretly crave the objects. • 34. Motivation Statement For Motivation In Psychology In this statement I describe my motivation for seeking graduate training in psychology at Georgia State University. It is my aim to continue my education in psychology, with the goal of pursuing a career that contributes to our understanding of cognitive abilities in both humans and non human primates. My involvement in the academic community at the University of Georgia has contributed greatly to the refinement of my academic and career goals. Through my involvement in service organizations such as the Undergraduate Neuroscience Organization (UNO), I have gained a greater interest in how studies of the brain contribute to our understanding of the causes and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. I have theoretical research interests in comparative cognition, human animal studies, and primatebehavior. Specifically, I am interested in how cognitive abilities such as memory and attention function in primates and how this functioning compares to that of humans. These research interests developed throughout my undergraduate coursework, research, and internship experiences. As an undergraduate student at the University of Georgia, I have taken a holistic approach to my education, combining a psychological and anthropological perspective to understand how the brain works both individually and across different species. I am confident that my education thus far has prepared me for the rigor of interdisciplinary doctoral coursework. My undergraduate coursework not only underscored ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In an Early Childhood setting challenging behavior may arise during transitional times (Hemmeter, Ostrosky, Artman Kinder, 2008). Transitions cause students to stop what they are doing, perform long chain of tasks, and begin a new activity, all without breaking classroom rules (McIntosh, Herman Sanford, 2004). Thus, the dependent variable in this study was the students transitional time from the hallway to the classroom; the independent variable was the use of the TGG; and the measure was the duration of each transition. A withdrawal design was used to gauge the game s effectiveness. During the three day baseline phase, it took students more than 2.5 min to transition into the classroom each day. After the first intervention phase began, transitional time decreased to an average of 59 s, and no transition exceeded 2 min. (There were still 3 days, however, in which the students did not meet the criteria on the transition card.) The treatment phase ended when students earned their first party, and then the teacher withdrew the TGG. The first day without the TGG showed a minimal increase in transitional time, but the subsequent days showed a return to baseline levels. When the teacher reinstated the game, transitional times reduced again even to below initial treatment levels (range: 33 55 s). A short withdrawal produced a return to 7 baseline levels before the teacher permanently reinstated the TGG. There are thousands of duck lodges located all across North America. Duck hunting has increased in popularity over the past 15 years mostly due in part to the popularity of it on T.V. With that being said this has caused a large increase in the number of lodges being created, to be able to keep up with the demand. Here, the narrator explains that the King was very upset when he saw that Imoinda was in love with Oroonoko, but he ridded himself of these sad feelings by sending her the royal veil which forced her to become one of his wives. This shows that the King has a selfish nature because he could not overcome his desire for Imoinda and let her marry Oroonoko. This selfishness leads him to betray Oroonoko. Both the King and Byam show disloyalty since they betray Oroonoko which establishes negative character. This disloyalty is also distinct to those who are of a high social class position because they are deliberately betraying Oroonoko as opposed to doing it unintentionally. Because negative traits, such as disloyalty, are given to characters who have governmental power, a link between negative character and high social class characters can be established. Another link which can be seen between social class positon and character is through the characters who are neither rulers nor slaves having positive character traits. The Population Of The Solent Oyster Population Ostrea edulis populations are in decline worldwide throughout a wide geographical range from Norway over Morocco to the Black Sea, with current stock level estimates below those made during the 1800s (Anon, 2007). O. edulis population from the Solent is one of these declining populations with several collapses during the last century. The reasons of the last decline in the Solent oyster population from 2006 are still unknown. This species has constituted an important fishery in the Solent with commercial explotation since 1800 s. Due to some life characteristics of this species oyster beds are very vulnerable to commercial exploitation and overfishing (Laing et al., 2005; Orton, 1927c). However, other hypotheses point to trends in increasing sea temperatures, habitat degradation, chemical and physical pollution. Recent studies have analysed the current situation on reproductive parameters of O. edulis population finding a significant reduction in the number of brooding female phase oysters (Eagling, 2012), reduction on fecundity of brooding oysters and skewed sex ratio towards male phase oyster (Eagling, 2012; Kamphausen, 2011). Athough a number of speculations for this behaviour have been made, the factors causing this change in sex phase in O. edulis remain unknown. A social dilemma is when individuals choose actions that will affect others as well as themselves. The individual will aim to benefit themselves short term which generally results in a lower joint outcome.
