Essay on Poverty and Inequality in El Salvador
The poverty and inequality that has plagued El Salvador since the early twentieth century stems
from their rule by the Oligarchy, which dates back to colonial times. The Oligarchy s lack of
consistency in implementing and following through with reforms has prevented progress from
occurring in the country. Furthermore, the many wars and political revolts in El Salvadorimpeded its
economic and social growth. The main focus of the Oligarchy was to turn a profit. And because
they essentially ran the economy, they assumed that their actions were best for both their profits
and the country s economy as a whole. Their selfish single minded focus led to a growing economic
inequalities, which was subsequently accommodated by ethnic and class... Show more content on

However, the Indians were susceptible to the diseases brought over by the Spaniards, which led
to a decline in the Indian population. Because the Oligarchy viewed the Indians as disposable
labor, they did not feel the need to treat them to prevent their numbers from dwindling. Instead,
the Spanish replaced them with slaves imported from Africa (Montgomery 71). This was one of
the first signs of inequality brought to El Salvador by the Oligarchy. In the seventeenth century,
the demand for cacao dropped. As a result of this, El Salvador plunged into an economic
depression, and the Oligarchy had to find a new source of revenue, which they found in indigo
(Montgomery 71). Indigo was profitable because of the increase in demand for textiles in Europe
at this time (Krauss 59 60). This led the Oligarchy to increase its acquisition of land in El
Salvador, which was mainly inhabited by the native Indians. On top of being extremely lucrative,
indigo was far less labor intensive than cacao was, so it became the main focus of El Salvador s
agriculture by 1600 (Montgomery 71). Unfortunately, these developments had high costs for the
Indian populations. When the indigo rotted, diseases would be brought to the Indian villages that
cultivated it, killing off entire villages in several instances. When this happened, they were merely
replaced by another tribe (Krauss 60). Eventually the mistreatment of the Indians by the

Questions On Alternative Dispute Resolution
Since 1990s in England and Wales significant changes occur in the civil justice system. In response
to Lord Woolf s Final Report Access to Justice the time consuming and expensive litigation has
slowly been replaced by the Alternative Dispute Resolution, which has developed and evolved as a
significant method for resolving disputes.
Alternative dispute resolution is a broad concept, covering the full range of alternative activities
available for the most appropriate way of resolving civil problems from small claims to complex
commercial disputes. To reach a settlement, an ADR process is using a range of options, which can
be divided into two main groups: Adjudicative Options and Non adjudicative Options. In
Adjudicative Options the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Disputes are arising everywhere around us, whether in the public sector or in our families. To deal
with all of them with competency the mediation practice is divided into different fields of activity
and outlining them is crucial. Most mediation providers are practicing the main fields of mediation
such as Civil and Commercial Mediation, covering the full range of civil and commercial disputes,
Divorce and Other Family Mediation, where usually are discussed breakdowns of spouses,
Workplace and Employment Dispute Resolution, which deals with all kinds of workplace disputes,
such as discrimination, sexual harassment and unfair dismissal, and others fields.
In the first years of this century the use of ADR, and more specific mediation, is gaining an
extreme popularity. Many cases changed the thinking about ADR and contributed to mediation s
growth. In April 1999 in England were introduced the Civil Procedure Rules that empowers the
judges to embolden mediation and other forms of ADR, where it is appropriate. Main example is
the case of Halsey v Milton Keynes NHS Trust, which puts the emphasis on the encouragement of
the use of ADR, and the existence of sanctions if one of the parties unreasonably refuses mediation.
In April 2006 an important change is made in CPR that requires that the parties should consider
whether some form of alternative dispute resolution

Rabbit Run Analysis
Rabbit has run away from Janice, He has abandoned his family and taken refuge with Ruth.
Rabbit claims to love Ruth, he suggests marriage and shows all the signs of a man in love. Rabbit
has also shown that he is a weak character. He has shown and will continue to show that he fears
the women in his life. Rabbitis afraid to disappoint the women and that is why he runs. His life
thus far has amounted to nothing. He leads a lower middle class life style, works at bad jobs,
and knows his best days are behind him. That is why Rabbit runs. He cannot find a way to cope or
grasp his failures. The women represent his failed life and that is why he fears them, that is why he
runs. Conversely, the women who he pities are strong characters. He believes himself to be a
necessity to the women. He cannot fathom that they could get by without him. But, the women in

nubbly brown skirt, is solid and symmetrical as a base of a powerful column (84). He describes
her in this unflattering way while simultaneously claiming his love for her. He reduces her to the
sum of her parts so he can focus on her flaws, and by doing so he forgets about his own. Rabbit
creates this false sense of masculine security by falsely convincing himself that all women want
him because he shows no respect for them. The narration of his thoughts continues, his love for
her founded anew yet not daring to lift his eyes to the test of her face (84). Even after Rabbit has

A Engineer s Responsibility Is Still Vague Of The Top...
Time to wake up
Engineering has been one of the top demand professions of all time. Nevertheless, the awareness of
an engineer s responsibility is still vague in the society. In this concurrent era of technological
revolutions, it has become highly relevant to give a definition to this. The question, whether
engineer should remain within the limitations/ guidelines of the organizations they work for or not
finds high relevancy and importance. There are ongoing strong debates on this matter, with a large
group arguing engineering is a profession, where one has to make his skills ready to be available for
whosoever pays him, as far as that falls within law (Deborah G, 1989). I personally support the

The default assumption in the discussion of morality is that, it is wrong to harm others (Kenneth,
Andrew, Samuel C, 1983). As we say each and every person has the same right to live, it readily
generates a responsibility to not to disturb other s lives. In depth, it automatically conveys the
message, whose action influences the most should be most responsible in their works. This
demands engineers to hold high standards of responsibility and commitment towards the society.
The basic reason for my stance in this thesis is the importance and unique nature of engineering
profession. There are two basic features which differentiates engineering profession. Engineers
come across things and products mostly, rather than direct dealings with individual person.
Furthermore, engineers work as a part of team or collective unlike most of the other profession
(John, 1982). Even though, engineers act in groups, one should remember the fact that one is
being governed doesn t degrade his moral responsibilities. Hence an individual working in a
collective can also be said to possess quantifiable amount of moral responsibility towards the
society, extend of which depends on the position and role he plays in the collective (Albert
Deborah G, 1983). The relevance of this point can be established by exploring a case study of the
deep water gulf oil disaster. Where, the reputed British

Commodity Prices In The 18th Century Period Of Japan
Commodity prices parallel to stock prices can boom and bust without warning affected by
numerous reasons. For this reason alone, having an agreed minimum price is a great importance
for farmers. For an instance, a large scale crop failure leads to not enough rice, but higher prices.
Bearing this in mind, agreed prices becomes an interest for the end users, therefore making both the
retail merchants and end users obtain advantages from the futures contract to have a solidified
market transaction. The use for candlesticks start here. Rice trade between the local farmers and
consumers, as well as the international commerce, was extensive in the 18th century period of
Japan. Several factors that affect the futures prices was noted by Japanese

Kanye West Analysis
The mural of Kanye West kissing Kanye West has been painted over by the artist who created it,
Scott Marsh. According to The Guardian, April 11, 2016, reported that the mural has been
destroyed. Scott Marsh painted a 20 foot mural on the wall of Zigi s Wine and Cheese Bar, of
Kanye West passionately kissing himself in the creative district Teggs Lane, Chippendale in
Sydney. Originally, the picture was of Kanye West kissing his wife Kim Kardashian West at the
Grammy s in 2015. That picture was Photoshopped by Buzzfeed and they replaced Kim with a
picture of the famous rapper, but they left Kim s fabulous dress on Kanye. However, Kanye West
and his management were not happy when they saw the mural and they were even more furious
when the picture went viral. According to an interview Scott had with Life Without Andy, a
representative from Kanye contacted him and offered him a five amount to destroy that mural....

they settled down a bit and the coast was clear. She has been with me for as long as I can

one thing spooky about it. The abandoned Vvictorian house that was built a long time ago on the

Did you guys hear that? I asked. I didn t... How about you Hazel? Colin responded. Yeah, I heard
it. Let s go check it out. Hazel stated. We all nodded at the same time and made our way towards
to the double front doors that blocked our path. Smash. A window on the top floor slammed shut
and the three of us were so startled that we jumped into each other for protection. Another meow
sound came from towards the basement and this time it was loud enough for everyone to hear
it. We crept down the creaking stairs to the basement and on the wall across the room was
Ginger squirming while being encased by some vines that had grown on the wall. We all
quickly ran over to her and started cutting the vines with an axe Hazel had brung. When Ginger
was safely in my arms the house started a conversation with us. Who dares interfere with a
sacrifice? it called out. Everyone was startled but I built up the courage to fire back, I do! I came
to rescue Ginger because I love her so much! Very well. the house replied, But, you must leave
someone else. I need a snack. My friends and I all looked at each other. We didn t know what to
say. Finally Colin stepped in front of our lineup and said, I ll stay back. No! I shouted. But it was
already too late. Arms of the house grew out of nowhere and threw Ginger, Hazel, and I out of the

HSBC, as with other banks, took advantage of many poor consumers looking to own their own
home. These consumers had low credit scores, are in default or have low income, which means
there was a higher probability of them not paying back the loan. These banks took advantage by
not explaining the entire process of how the amount will double and the interest rate will become
adjustable after a couple years. This led to many subprime mortgage loan holders to not meet
payments and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you have lenders not collecting the right information on consumers to help predict if they
are able to pay the loan or not and not explaining the loan correctly to consumers, it causes
conflicts. Consumers did not really understand the loans; they just knew they would become
homeowners. Subprime loans are the worst, to me. Who wants to pay back 10 times what their
home is actually worth? The new Experian Scorex software will provide great value to HSBC s
strategy management. This new system will collect information and will help HSBC in their credit
decisions. George Lennox, Senior Manager, Group Credit and Risk at HSBC: As one of the world

support technology. (Experian) By implementing this new technology, HSBC will better assist their

Lord of the Flies, Coral Island and the Role of Adults -...
It is known that to fully appreciate the novel Lord of the Flies (1954) by William Golding (1911
1993) it is necessary to have read Robert Michael Ballantyne s (1825 1894) Coral Island (1858), or
at least to understand its theme and treatment. And so, since it was Golding s intention to set
himself to write an island story that deliberately challenged Ballantyne s model in Coral Island by
inverting its assumptions and values we can explore multiple angles from which the two novels can
be compared and studied. An item which seems quite interesting when analysing both texts is that
one related to civilization and its adult exponents. After a thorough reading and focusing on very
clear and specific elements we happen to notice the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Or, How can an ambassador of an atomic war stand for the parental protection or even a mature
model to be followed? The naval officer s ignorance, his lack of understanding of what has been
going on, is ironical.4 Furthermore, what Golding is trying to make clear at this instance is the
decadent figure of the human adult, and by extension, of the whole human civilized world.
Let us now turn to R.M. Ballantyne s Coral Island . Here, the concern about civilization, seems
to be very well defined as well as good and evil are so clearly separated that there cannot be any
conflict between them.5 In spite of this, when we come to a closer look we find a special
complexity within a number of characters. Everything about Ballantyne s boys, who are older by
some years than Golding s boys, is confident and positive. The novel as a whole, pictures the
assumptions and values of the Victorian period in affirming progress, imperialism, self reliance,
the Creator, the goodness of nature and of human nature when Christianised at least 6 Actually, this
is quite an interesting item to focus on. On the one hand there are the dark skinned people referred
to as the savages , who are in fact the native inhabitants from the neighbouring islands. They are a
kind of primitive adults, constantly characterised as cruel, uncivilised inferior beings. Their rituals,
their form of life, the whole of their culture is described as barbarian and demoniac and Ralph, our
young narrator, is

Compare And Contrast Grindel And Beowulf
Greed, a word hard to explain or put into words when you are the victim. When a person feels

The Cost Of Eating Healthy
The Cost of Eating Healthy Wouldn t it be reasonable to consider that people just might eat
healthier if they simply had the money to do so? It would be interesting to consider that the
people who usually have bad eating habits, are the ones who actually can t afford to eat healthy.
America has the highest obesity rate in the world, but who knows where we could be if the
healthy food was more affordable and the junk food wasn t reasonably cheap. Illnesses and
diseases have become common too in people, many that come from just unhealthy eating that has
taken a negative toll on the body. Not to mention, people living in low income areas where in
those areas, the main thing around them are fast food restaurants. The promotion of healthier
eating and a healthier lifestyle, though, isn t completely hidden from the public, though more
ads about tasty junk food are on televisions, billboards, and so on, more than food that will
benefit your body and general health. These things are all played into the fact that people already
have a terrible diet, and the prices of foods that can make someone s diet healthier are too high for
most to even include them in their diet regularly. Healthier foods should cost less because it can
help lower the high obesity rate in America, it will promote a healthier lifestyle to people to do
things like exercise more, and it can help prevent life threatening illnesses caused by unhealthy
eating. Low income areas have the biggest influence on

Trade in Alexandria: A Story Told on the Water
Serving as the capitol for the Ptolemaic dynasty, Alexandria was and is still located on the
Mediterranean coast of Egypt. It s positioning came from Greek inspiration, built as a central
location of commerce, maritime trade, and international business. Some of the goods shipped in
and out of the port included textiles, cosmetics and ointments, gems, papyrus, Egyptian glass,
grains, and spices. As one of the main trading hubs in the Ancient Mediterranean world, Alexandria

As I stated in my first paper The regular flooding lets agriculture along the Nile thrive. With this
Egypt soon became the main source of grain for Rome with enormous ships regularly criss crossing
the Mediterranean. To help keep up with the demand and increase profits Ptolemy implemented
back home knowledge to his newly acquired territory. This is shown when Saad in Alexandria: The
Site the History, states:
When the Ptolemies had taken over the running of Egypt agriculture had been steadily declining.
Their application of Greek knowledge and science implied relatively sophisticated agricultural
methodology and as a consequence an increase in crops and harvests (122)
Agricultural production was also dependent on the water distribution and irrigation. To help
maximize crop production, men were required to spend a set amount of time cleaning the irrigation
systems of silt. Egypt continued to be the granary of Rome for many centuries. This is proven by
the text in Maritime Archaeology and Ancient Trade in the Mediterranean by Damian Robinson,
saying: Emperor Augustus put the army to work on clearing the silted irrigation systems of Egypt

The Cause Of The Stono Rebellion, South Carolina
On Sunday, September 9th, 1739 the British colony of South Carolina was shaken by a slave
uprising that culminated with the death of sixty people (The Stono Rebellion 1739). It was one of
the first organized slave revolts in history (Stono Rebellion 1739). As a result, the Stono Rebellion
started to change viewpoints on slavery. Slave revolts started to become a problem for plantation
owners. Due to this conflict over slave revolts, specifically the Stono Rebellion, South Carolina
compromised by passing the Negro Act of 1740 and other laws regarding slavery. At the time of
the Stono Rebellion, Spanish Florida, a separate entity from the British colonies until 1763,
became known as a safe haven for fugitive slaves (Stono Rebellion 1739). Seeking to cause
turmoil in British colonies, Spain passed a law stating that any escaped slave that reaches
Spanish territory (which is now Florida) would be freed. In response to this new law, a group of
slaves led by a Angolan slave named Jemmy, met on September 9, 1739 near the Stono river to
plan an escape to Spanish Florida (The Stono Rebellion Timeline). They planned to revolt on a
Sunday when they had the most freedom from their daily routine. In preparation for their escape,
it was realized that many of the slaves involved in the Stono Rebellion were from Congo (Stono
Rebellion 1739). At the time, Congo was at war with itself making its people susceptible to being
captured and sent into slavery (Stono Rebellion 1739). With this

In his essay On the Duty of Civil Disobedience , Thoreau expresses his discontent for the lack
American people s lack of action against the nation s injustice after his imprisonment for refusing
to pay a poll tax. He establishes his argument by first acknowledging that government will always
be flawed because it is a human institution and declaring that people should follow their
conscience rather than blindly follow any government. In the fourth paragraph, he explains his
reasoning Must the citizen ever for a moment... resign his conscience to the legislator? Why has
every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward. It is not
desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. Thoreau encourages his reader
to follow his conscience even to the point of rebelling against the government should its actions
violate the conscience of the individual. In the first half of the essay, he asserts that disagreeing
with unjust legislation while paying taxes to the government enacting such legislation makes one
guilty of injustice himself. Thoreau s assertion that simply disagreeing with a government s
practices has no effect in actually stopping the government from continuing them remains true
today. However, the divisive political climate has driven people to adhere to their political beliefs
far more tenaciously and both sides have a large number of followers. If people were to cease
obeying the government in favor of following their own beliefs, the federal government would
struggle to collect enough money in taxrevenue, so his method of rebellion would not work today.
The essay was not difficult to read as Thoreau wrote it for the general public to read and
understand his ideas, but due to its length, it may be helpful to break it into sections. The first half
of the essay would benefit the Wit Lit and rhetoric unit as Thoreau uses it to establish a strong
argument, and sections of the essay could serve as prompts for students to annotate in the AP
Bootcamp unit. Furthermore, Thoreau attempts to better define the qualities of a good citizen and
the role of a government, making this essay useful for the Definitionby Example unit.

Argumentative Essay On Rosa Parks
Rosa parks is the best choice for the bus boycott representative. I believe this because she has
more experience, is determined to end segregation, and shows a lot of maturity. Some say
Claudette Colvin os the best choice for the representative of the bus boycott but I think
otherwise. Rosa Parks has a lot of experience due to her being the head of the NAACP s youth
group in Montgomery, Alabama and had served many years. According to the text Married and in
her early forties, Rosa was widely known as an activist through her work with the Montgomery
NAACP. Rosa Parkshad a lot of experience and knew more about the situation (segregation) than
people who were just starting to get involved. Second, Rosa Parks is determined to

Changes And Development Of The Aging Process
Epigenetic changes are currently recognized as part of the aging process and have been
implicated in many age related chronic diseases such as AD (1 3). The term epigenetics includes a
variety of processes known to regulate gene expression in a stable and potentially reversible way,
without altering the primary DNAsequence (4). Since epigeneticsallow for the integration of long
lasting non genetic inputs in the genome, research on age related disorders have recently focused in
epigenetic mechanisms, and a growing number of epigenetic alterations in AD have been described
recently (5). The best characterized epigenetic mechanisms include DNA methylation, histone
posttranslational modifications, and non coding RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs). It is
becoming increasingly evident the interplay between these mechanisms to establish the epigenetic
states and expression patterns of many mammalian genes (1 3). For instance, it has been described
that trimethylation of histone 3 at lysine 9 (H3K9me3) by the histone methyl transferase SUV39H1
is required for recruiting the DNA methyl transferase DNMT3b to pericentromeric repeats in order
to allow heterochromatin structure (both H3 K9 methylation and DNA methylation are considered
hallmarks of mammalian heterochromatin) (4). In turn, miRNAs can also control other epigenetic
mechanisms; for example, miR 204 can target histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) (5), while miR 148
and miR 152 are reported to influence DNA methylation

Theme Of Manipulation In Wuthering Heights
In Wuthering Heights by Emily BrontГ«, Heathcliff s strong love for Catherine guides his
transformation as a character. While Heathcliff enters the story as an innocent child, the abuse
he receives at a young age and his heartbreak at Catherine s choice to marry Edgar Linton bring
about a change within him. Heathcliff s adulthood is consequently marked by jealousy and greed
due to his separation from Catherine, along with manipulation and a deep desire to seek revenge
on Edgar. Although Heathcliff uses deceit and manipulation to his advantage throughout the
novel, he is never entirely content in his current situation. As Heathcliff attempts to revenge
Edgar Linton, he does not gain true fulfillment. Throughout Wuthering Heights, BrontГ« uses
Heathcliff s vengeful actions to convey the message that manipulative and revenge seeking
behaviors will not bring a person satisfaction. To begin, Heathcliff uses Isabella as a means of
exacting revenge on Edgar Linton, whom he despises. When Heathcliff finds out Isabella is in
love with him, he is delighted. His pleasure comes not from a mutual like for Isabella, but rather
a vision for revenging Edgar. After Catherine lets slip that Isabella is in love with him,
Heathcliff says to her, ...and if you fancy I ll suffer unrevenged, I ll convince you of the contrary,
in a very little while! Meantime, thank you for telling me your sister in law s secret: I swear I ll
make the most of it. And stand you aside! (112). Heathcliff s comment

INTRODUCTION
Nursing documentation is important for continuity and quality of client care. It acts as legal
evidence and provides evidence for quality assurance and future care (Porter Perry, 2014). A
SOAP note consists of Subjective, objective, assessment and a plan for the client care. This paper
attempts to assess and document subjective and objective data for a case study involving a 46
years old male client brought to the urgent care with the complain of chest pain and identify three
nursing diagnosis and provide a plan for each diagnosis identified.
SUBJECTIVE DATA
Client complains of chest pain and shortness of breath (SOB). Client states that he was working
with heavy stones and has a sedentary office jobs and sedentary life styles. Client has a medical
history of asthma GERD. Client also complains of indigestion and has not eaten much today.
Beside this information, the nurse would ask the following questions to the client in order to
complete the client history which would help to make nursing diagnosis: Where exactly is the
pain? Does it radiate/ go anywhere? When did the pain start? Was the onset sudden or gradual?
What are you doing when it started? What does your pain feel like burning /stabbing/ aching
/ squeezing/ cramping/ sharp/ itching/ shooting/ crushing etc.? How severe is the pain,

Analysis Of Ford s New Strategy
Over the past decade, Ford was struggling from strategic challenges in order to gain market share
against its competitors or even keep its competitive standing; as a result, Ford have liquidated its
luxury car brand in order to fund its new line up which is a part of its new strategy. This new
strategy calls One Ford which aims to reduce Ford lineup numbers. In other words, it means
producing one car platform to be sold worldwide rather than producing a particular car platform for
each marketplace which in turn will reduce Ford factories numbers. Implementing this new strategy,
Ford is going to shut down its factories in many countries like Australia. In terms of implementation
the new strategy of Ford in Australia, this paper aims to provide a competitive analysis study
among Ford competitors focusing on Australian automotive market by identifying Ford s major
competitors, their objectives and strategies, strengths and weaknesses, market share and size;
beside, it highlights the new trends of Australian automotive market to examine the effect on
competition during the next few years. Australian automotive market has great competition among
the highest worldwide selling car brands such as Ford, Holden, Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan
and Honda. In fact, this competition is more likely to reach the peak during the next decade.

program has accumulated varieties of fans and interests. Game of Thrones like other popular and
successful media such as Hunger games series, Harry Potter etc. has both the print version and

of the media. According to my interviewees, the media phenomenal had garner both nation and

Government Control In The Hunger Games, The Giver, By...
I have chosen to explore the theme of Government control. This theme is evident in the novels The
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Giver by Lois lowry and in
the film Minority Report directed by Steven Spielberg.
In the novel The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, Government control is emphasized through
the Capitol being prosperous financially which enables them to have control over the poor
districts. An example that shows this is Look how we take your children and sacrifice them and
there is nothing you can do. If you lift a finger, we will destroy every last one of you... This shows
that the Capitol will emphasize that they are better than the districts using The Hunger Games and

An example that shows this is the mid shot of Anderton s flight scene where Anderton escapes in
his vehicle, but the control of it is taken over by Precrime in order to take the protagonist to police
premises. This shows that in this futuristic society everything is under surveillance even our
command over vehicles is lost. Not only does the government have control of the vehicles and mass
surveillance, but it also knows practically any given moment where each person is. As a result, the
government has the power to control the citizens using extreme surveillance and take away any
freedom or privacy that they have. With this in mind, Steven Spielberg wants us to understand what
the future can lead to if power is taken advantage of which results into extreme control. As the
citizens give up some of their freedom so that the government can protect them but as the
government gains more control it would undoubtedly abuse its

The Importance Of Physical Education
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical fitness is vital for individuals of any age. Particularly, physical fitness is imperative for
youthful people ages twelve to twenty one. However, for teenagers to get an incredible action is
through school. Having physical instruction in schools impacts young people rationally,
emotionally and physically (Maclaren, 2010). It is imperative for students to take an interest in a
physical instruction class since it constructs an establishment for cooperation in exercises further
down the road (Barbieri, 2014). If the physical instruction educator shows age suitable
advancement aptitudes, the kid is capable of performing well. A great deal of these aptitudes loans
themselves to a tyke having the capacity to perform best in the classroom.
Physical training projects can involve students in exercises that test the brain of the pupils
(Physical Education New Zealand, 2008). Exercises, for example, bows and arrows and golf
include math aptitudes and also fixation abilities.
The chance to take an interest in a physical action all the time in schools may expand the odds
that a physically dynamic way of life will be embraced. Carrying on with a physically dynamic
way of life is critical to well being and health (Milne Smith, 1998). A school s physical instruction
division has the duty to enable students to be associated with and embrace an individual way of
life of normal physical activity. Physical movement is essential to a youngster s life in light of

Arhaus Furniture
Several years ago, after deciding to redecorate my living room, I visited Arhaus Furniture. The thing
about decorating is that my tastes never seem to match my budget, which is how I got into this
gardening mess. Arhaus carried table accents that consisted of a shallow round or square ceramic
dish full of lush, green, neatly manicured grass. Immediately, I was smitten with the unique concept,
but not with the price. After leaving the furniture store, I called my husband and rattled off my list

If you re like me, you can t wait to get your fingers in the dirt and you want to get that old brown
lawn looking lush and green again. If you live in the western United States, and you know that
after October your lawn will become dormant and brown, the following is a 4 step process to
help renovate your lawn. The fundamentals of getting that beautiful yard begins with a spring
fertilizer; nitrate and phosphate. When you look at a bag of fertilizer, there are usually two or
three numbers on the bag, for example: 30 10 0 which means 30 parts nitrate which is always
the first number and 10 parts phosphate which is always the second number. The nitrate greens
up the lawn fast and the phosphate establishes a strong root system. This is your spring fertilizer,
which should be applied first. A good way to decide when to apply fertilizer is to do it close to the
holidays; Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day. If you are worried about weeds, you
can use a fertilizer with a pre emergence in it. In case you are unfamiliar with this type of
product, you need to know that a pre emergence keeps seeds from germinating. It does not
differentiate between flower, vegetable or weed seeds, so you must be sure that it is not
applied in areas where you have flower or vegetable seeds. Many people like to use a weed and feed
fertilizer, thinking this will eliminate all the weeds. A weed and feed fertilizer can only be used
when weeds are actively growing because the chemical in the product has to attach itself to the
weed in order to kill it. If applied before the weeds are growing, you will have wasted your time and
your fertilizer. Memorial day fertilization means a fertilizer with less nitrate, such as a 25 5 10,
which is 25 parts of nitrate, 5 parts phosphate, and 12 parts of potassium. You can also find
something like this with a slow release iron, which is

Hamlet Movie Adaptation
Hamlet was written in 1609 by William Shakespeare; Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and
playwrights. Since the original performance of Hamlet, there have been many movie adaptations.
Some of the many well known film directors for these movies are Kenneth Branagh, Franco
Zeffirelli and Sir Laurence Olivier. From the above film directors, I will compare and contrast
Zeffirelli s production of Hamletto the original Shakespeare s play Hamlet.
Zeffirelli s version of Hamlet is one of the sound versions of Hamlet. It was produced and starred
Mel Gibson in the late 1900s. Comparing the film version of Hamlet to the play, Zeffirelli has
made noticeable changes in the movie including some clothing choices and characters reactions. He
also altered and cut lines from the original Shakespeare play.
Shakespeare centralized the theme of revenge in the ghost scene in Act 1 Scene 5 with the use of
literary devices. In the movie adaptation, Zeffirelli used a different approach to portray the theme,
without the use of any literary devices. He instead used costume choices, characters reactions and
different word choices.
Zeffirelli used a creative way to portray Hamlet s father wearing a white shirt with black pants
instead of Shakespeare s choice of armour. He used this to show how Hamlet s father would look
in 90 s society. He made Hamlet wear black clothing throughout the movie to show that Hamlet was
the only one who cared and grieved throughout his mother s marriage and until his own death.
Zeffirelli changed the characters reactions throughout the scenes. One of the character changes is
during Hamlet s father s ghost soliloquy. Instead of his father being projected as angry towards
his wife and his brother in the movie, he uses a calm tone. In the movie while Hamlet was
listening to his father, he should have looked angry and upset. Instead he had no emotions while
listening to his father. In the movie, he should have an angry tone and should be eager to plot
revenge on who killed his father, instead he did not talk throughout his father s death story.
Zeffirelli chose this so that the audience will wait and anticipate when Hamlet s anger will grow
and his reaction during the scene.

Rainforest Meets The Sea Rhyme Scheme
Two of the poems that I wrote were the limerick, Sam s Journey , and the six room image poem,
Rainforest Meets the Sea . Sam s Journey is about Sam and how he went on the lamb. He went
to many houses and was quick when he was on the run. Rainforest Meets the Sea is about Costa
Rica and the wonders that are there. Since I have been there twice in my life, I know much about
it. In Sam s Journey , I used a rhyme scheme, and in Rainforest Meets the Sea , I used repetition.
Rhyme scheme is the pattern in which the lines rhyme. For example, there could be a rhyme
scheme of ABAB when every other line rhymes with each other. Repetition is when a poet repeats
a certain word, line, or stanza within a poem. It is usually used to put emphasis on... Show more

They can be anything from ABAB to ABACAD, or anything in between. In Sam s Journey , I
used AABBA. In order, the end of each line was Sam, lamb, houses, mouses, and BAM. Using
this rhyme scheme helped my poem in that it makes it flow. When you read it aloud, it has a
rhythm. The repetition that I used was in the poem, Rainforest Meets the Sea . At the end of the
poem, I repeated the phrase, rainforest meets the sea three times. I wanted to show the importance
of that phrase to the readers. Costa Rica is known for having the rainforest and the ocean right next
to each other, so I thought that I should repeat that certain phrase. This phrase also repeats the main
subject of the poem without repeating Costa Rica over and over again.
One thing that I had difficulty with while writing some of the poems was making some of the lines
rhyme and make sense. One of the poems that I wrote, but did not include in the portfolio was the
seasonal poem. I was writing about winter and had the word cocoa at the end of one of my lines.

Empowerment versus Exploitation: Children and the Media
Throughout this semester our class has discussed the contrasting views on the influence of media
and television on children. In this paper, I will take this conversation a step further by delving into
the complexities of the opposing views of child protection. American children in today s culture
spend almost six hours a day with various forms of media. The media attacks children s agency
though their culture and I will attempt to highlight how this attack can negatively affect and
influence children as consumers. In this paper, I argue that media targets children through their
sense of agency and empowerment

explicitly commands the audience to perform specific movements, thus everyone does the same
exact movements. This song choice is meaningful as it parallels how adults command their
children to behave in a certain manner. Just as children desire the ability to break free of this
parental oppression, the boy in the video does not allow the song to dictate what moves he

Australian National Security Statement Analysis Essay
At a time when Australia faces its most challenging strategic outlook since World War II, there is no
issue more important to Australia s security than the increased capabilities of our intelligence
agencies and the development of a robust national security policy. The challenge Australia faces is
defining our national securitypriorities in today s globalised world and creating a national security

adequately protect Australia and Australian interests. In order to combat the increasing aspects of
asymmetric and transnational threats the Australian Government needed to implement a National

The purpose of the speech was to describe the scope of national security, the interests of national
security, the principles and priorities and the government s vision for a reformed national security
structure. The statement set out the national security policy framework for Australia s future. By
providing a four block foundation of; building a more secure Australia with a future of security
challenges, building a stronger economic Australia, building a fairer Australia among the
disadvantaged and building an Australia capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century, the
national security statement was a decisive and coherent step to a uniformed security approach that
was long overdue.
By presenting a clear concise definition of national security Freedom from attack or the threat of
attack; the maintenance of our territorial integrity; the maintenance of our political sovereignty; the
preservation of our hard won freedoms; and the maintenance of our fundamental capacity to
advance economic prosperity for all Australians the statement provides a strategic framework to
drive the necessitating policy. The statement also advises that this provides context for the Defence
White Paper for the next twenty years, as I will detail later on the Defence Department already

After he successfully carried the stone back to the suitor s house, he depicted his feelings in
details: Inhaling with desperate gulps the familiar smell of poverty and ashes, he listened to the
wave of joy surging inside him, dark and panting, which he could not name (165) There is an
contrast between the earthy ambiance and his inner satisfaction. It implies that due to his
helping of the suitor, in other words, his own kindness, D Arrast had found his inner happiness
in this world filled with unfortunate. In comparison, the stone, which is a symbol of the religion

Clocky Marketing Analysis
Introduction In 2005 Gauri Nanda, supported by neuroscience research that demonstrated the
depth of the average American s sleep deficiency problem, created significant media buzz with
the prototype of her revolutionary alarm clock Clocky . Unsure of how to position a product
that had a growing following but was still over a year away from production, Nanda was faced
with a number of difficult decisions as she attempted to devise a marketing plan to bring her
Clocky project to fruition. The following is our analysis of her situation, and suggestions on how
she should proceed. Question 1 Using a SWOT analysis we are able to define the success factors
that will influence Clocky s future launch on the market by identifying the potential... Show more

As stated in the case, Nanda believed this segment is less risky because claiming Clocky as the
revolutionary product which would change people s morning patterns could raise too high an
expectation regarding performance, which in turn can be difficult to meet consistently (note
that the Clocky is still a prototype and its functionality is not yet proven). Targeting Clocky first
as a robotic household pet would be a good foundational step to help Nanda raise the necessary
capital investment for further expansion, particularly in terms of the knowledge and
technologies that will be needed to update the functionality and reliability of a second generation
Clocky. In this way Nanda also leaves herself the possibility to cover the NEED MARKET with
further generations of Clocky. Moreover, Clocky s furry exterior (in the original prototype),
revolutionary technology application and playful nature lend it a high internal consistency with
the fun segment customers who seek out these distinctive features which not found in
traditional, existing products (Clocky is the first alarm clock with pet like habits). The only
concern associated with Nanda s targeting Clocky to the Fun Market is the risk of Clocky being
confused with a fad, which has a very short acceptance period and tends not to satisfy a
legitimate, strong need. However, it is possible to recognize fads early and leverage its popularity
into a product with a staying power, for example by

Pros And Cons Of Juvenile Drug Courts
Drug Courts
Haley Klimesh
Community Based Corrections
September 29, 2017
Drug Courts
Drug courts are problem solving courts that take a public health approach using a specialized model
in which the judiciary, prosecution, defense bar, probation, law enforcement, mental health, social
service, and treatment communities work together to help addicted offenders into long term
recovery. Drug courts began in 1989 in Florida, because it was assumed that people that had first
time offenses with drugs, or low level drug users could resist future drug use by this intervention
than sending them to get locked up without any treatment. It was also assumed that the quicker
treatments began after the initial arrest, the less time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A clinical assessment is then conducted for treatment needs. Different treatment plans are made for
each client. Individualized treatment plans are used to make referrals and they are updated
periodically.
Drug courts are for nonviolent drug offenders. The offender s can have misdemeanors or felonies,
but they have to agree to participate. An initial substance abuse assessment will determine the
eligibility someone has for the program participation (Alarid, Montemayor, Dannhaus, 2012). Drug
court treatment lasts one year and is based on a levels system. Phase one will begin with the most
hours, a full time inpatient or 12 hours of outpatient per week. Treatment includes detoxifying in
different ways including acupuncture, counseling, drug testing, and retina testing. Phase two begins
when the offender is ready and progressing. As the patient progresses through and hits marks of
success, the number of levels usually go down to less intensive outpatient treatment. And phase
four is the final phase that needs to be completed before the person can graduate. With juvenile
drug courts, parents are required to be there for the hearings and weekly family treatment sessions.
Parents are needed to help with sobriety in the home through being good role models and helping

Shingles Research Paper
Shingles Shingles is a disease that one out three people in the United States will likely develop.
It usually develops in elderly men and women. Shingles is a virus that is similarly to chickenpox.
If a person has had chickenpox, then he or she will likely develop shingles. Shingles is known as
zoster or herpes zoster, and an estimated 1 million cases occurs each year in this country (Centers
for Disease Control (CDC), 2014). The cause of shingles is the varicella zoster virus(VZV). There
are noticeable signs and symptoms associated with shingles. It can have a major impact on an
individual s life, when detected. Other issues surrounding shingles are its environmental and
genetic causes, treatment, and prevention. According to Neighbors and Tannehill Jones (2015),
shingles is an acute viral disease. It is common in the elderly, with approximately 50% of people

In the later stages, an infected person experiences itching and tingling, pain, rashes, and blisters.
The rash can appear within a few days, or within weeks later. A rash can appear anywhere on the
body, but will be on only one side of the body, the left or right. The rash will first form blisters,
then scab over, and finally clear up over a few weeks (WebMD, 2015). Pain and the rash are the
telltale signs of shingles. Usually the rash is more painful than it is itchy. The shingles virus
attacks the nerve roots in the skin. Nerve roots in the skin are located on both sides of the body.
The rash usually affects the middle of the back towards the chest. It may affect the face around
one eye. It is possible to have more than one area of rash on the body. When the virus becomes
reactivated, it travels up the nerve roots to the area of skin supplied by those specific nerve roots.
This is why the rash can wrap around either the left or right side of the body (WebMD,

How Did The Persian Empire Grow Throughout The Achaemenid...
In order for something to grow, it needs roots. The roots will soon develop and continue to grow.
In relation to this statement, the Achaemenid Empire, in which lasted from 550 330 BC, began as
Cyrus II, otherwise known as Cyrus the Great, had continued to conquer lands and grow his
empire. By doing so, Cyrus II created the most extensive empire that has been dated throughout
history. However, in order for the empire to last, it needed to continue to develop in ways that
would benefit the livelihoods of the people. Based on this, the Achaemenid Empireprospered
because the Persians had created a stable government, in which organized the empire, contributing
to the success of the empire. Likewise, the Achaemenid Empire flourished due to its social class
system, which maintained order throughout the empire, along with the completion of tasks that
needed to be fulfilled in the empire. Furthermore, the Achaemenid Empire continued to thrive and
prosper, due to the myriad amounts of infrastructure that the Persians were able to create and
utilize. The Persian government needed to continually maintain stability throughout the empire, as
the empire steadily grew in populations and territory. This conveys how the Persian Empire grew
in diversity. In order to do so, Persian authority both created an official language and culture, and
divided the Empire into provinces, otherwise known as satrapies. The use of satrapies began during
the rule of Darius I, who established 20

Lyme Disease Analysis
Lyme disease or Lyme Borreliosis is a vector borne disease that is caused by spirochaete Borrelia
burgdorferi bacteria (WHO, 2016). These bacteria are transmitted through the bites of infected deer
ticks (WHO, 2016). Symptoms of the disease include fever, chills, headache, fatigue, muscle and
joint pain (WHO, 2016). Often a rash appears at the site of the tickbite and may gradually expand to
a ring around the bite. Lyme diseasewas first observed in the State of Connecticut in 1975.
Currently, the disease may be found in forested areas of Asia, Europe and the United States. In
these areas deer ticks feed on mice and rodents, which serve as a reservoir for this bacteria
(MayoClinic.org, 2015). Then in adult hood deer ticks feed on white tailed and other targets of
opportunity. Individuals who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, for individuals in the developing world resources are lacking. It is individuals in
these situations that are extremely vulnerable to potential exposure. Climate change is also
impacting disease transmission. Large environmental areas are shrinking due to urban sprawl
which is leading to increased populations density s, increased pathogen load, decreased
distributions, and a greater prevalence of disease (Mills, Gage, Khan, 2010). Thus, larger
numbers of individuals are living in close proximity of disease vectors. In this paper I have
discussed the vector borne disease of Lyme disease, and the zoonotic disease of Rabies. Both of
these diseases are preventable and treatable but they do present public health hazards. Climate
change is adversely impacting environments and humans are now living closer than ever to the
boundaries of these diseases. In fact, in greater densely populated areas more and more individuals
are coming into contact with such diseases. Prevention requires resources which many developing
countries are lacking which leads to inadequate treatment for those whom are

Eddie Mabo Case And Their Role In The Case
Describe the individual of group that initiated the case and their role in the case. Provide
background information about them.
Eddie Mabo s ancestors lived for centuries on a group of three islands in the Torres Strait, near
Cape York. The islands, known as the Murray Islands, were annexed by the Queensland
Government in 1879 which meant they became a part of Australia
Queensland became responsible for their administration but despite this annexation, and the
presence of European missionaries on the islands, the indigenous people permanently and
continuously inhabited them with very little change to their way of life as a result of the
annexation. They continued to live in their settled communities; they maintained their traditional
beliefs and customs; there was a clear way of passing on their garden plots of land, and ways of
settling disputes about legal matters.
Mabo was a long running case launched by the Meriam people of the Murray Islands to challenge
the validity of state land laws and seek recognition of rights to land.
It involved the High Court considering the application of Australian law to the rights of Indigenous
Australians, in particular regarding the legal concepts of terra nullius and native title
What was the event of right violation that led to legal action being taken?
In the late 1970s, the Queensland Government attempted to dispossess some of the local people in
their own land. In 1982, Five members on the island of Mer decided to take the matters to court,
one of these people was Eddie Mabo.
They claimed that their rights to the land had not been extinguished by the Crown when their
islands were taken over or annexed by Queensland. They still had a legal right to the land based on
the legal concept of native title right of ownership based on traditional ownership of the land. The
Queensland Government s response was to pass the Coast Islands Declaratory Act, 1985. They
claimed that: All rights to the land went to the Crown on the 1879 annexation that native title had
been extinguished, and that no compensation for loss of land would be due to the Meriam people.
From 1985 and 1992, Eddie Mabo and other residents of the Murray Islands in far north Queensland
took action

stranger, sibling or person in a position of authority, such as a parent or a caretaker) when the

2. Children sexual exploitation in Thailand:
From 1962 Thailand became a destination for sex tourism due to the affluence of American military
personnel in the country. The military used to go there during the Vietnam War in order to rest and
distract themselves. From then on Thailand became a land of origin, transit and destination for
children trafficking. Nowadays the number of Thai children involved in the sex industry is
decreasing as a result of legislation, economical and educational improvements, many children from
neighboring border countries are being trafficked into Thailand, or ethnic tribes children trafficked
within the country from the north. Thailand s efforts in the struggle against children sexual
exploitation are made less effective because of difficulties in enforcing the law: cases of child
sexual exploitation are not the main concern for police and there are complications in reporting
cases to local authorities because of the language gap and corruption.
2.1 Victims and Causes:
As I said before the number of Thai children involved in the sex industry is decreasing but not in the
whole country as a matter of fact the northern hill tribe children are particularly exposed to internal
trafficking. The state policies discriminate against these children preventing them from having

C. As quoted in a report by the Bureau of Prisons, ... Alcatraz served an important purpose in taking
the strain off the older and greatly overcrowded institutions... since it enabled us to move the
smaller, closely guarded escape artists, the big time racketeers... and those who needed protection
from other groups...
Now that you know the kind of prisoners that were sent to Alcatraz,
II. I will discuss life on the island and as an inmate in the prison.
A. Each prisoner received a copy of the Rules and Regulations for the Government... Correctional
Institutions as well as a copy of the warden s special rules that explained the daily routine of work
and counts. The inmates were awakened at 6:30am to begin their day. They were required to clean
up themselves and their cell and required to shave three times a week.
B. Alcatraz was to be operated on the principle of very limited privileges to inmates. The
privilege of visitors had to be earned, and mail privileges were limited. They each held jobs within
the prison in the tailor shop, laundry, cobblers shop, model shop, gardening, or help with the food
prep in the mess hall.
C. Contrary to what the movies portray, there were no experiments made on the prisoners, and the
inmates that were transferred there were already twisted and disturbed; Alcatraz didn t turn them
into monsters. There was however, a dungeon that prisoners were locked in if they misbehaved,
and they also had a rule of silence, where they could not

Optimizing Pilot Planning and Training for Continental Airlines
Summary
Continental Airlines is the fifth largest airline based on passenger volume in United States. It
provides over 1,100 daily flight services to five continents. Effective manpower planning is a key
component for the success of Continental Airlines. It is essential for Airline Company to adjust its
need for pilots constantly in different position in response to new market opportunities, changing
passenger demand, acquisition and retirement of aircraft and training resources and evolving
economic conditions. Therefore, the company collected information from several separate database
systems and built the training plans by using spreadsheet. However, this development ... Show more

First, the training program constraint is based on the traditional training plan which highlights the
inherent weakness of any optimization model as it relies upon sound data for accurate outputs
(Sarker 2008, p. 5). Second, the potential sources of savings vary depending on different system
bids. It is the fact that a bid will have no cost components associated with those activities when it
is no required on new hires and pilot releases. Third, even using the system, there is a trade off
between block hour shortages and other costs on the training plans. Therefore, when block hour
shortages cost increases, the training cost will decrease, vice versa. It is unable to decrease both
block hour shortages cost and training costs together. Finally, the final decision of the training
program is not automated and requires management to select the best option for each training
program.
Result
The Crew Resource Solver system is an important investment of Continental Airlines to upgrade the
management of manpower planning needs by resource optimization and operation and financial
performance improvement. Based on the evidence given in the article, the Crew Resource Solver
integrated decision support system is a successful program for Continental Airlines to achieve its
above objectives. First, there are three ways for the cost savings. Training classes schedules

  • 2. Essay on Poverty and Inequality in El Salvador The poverty and inequality that has plagued El Salvador since the early twentieth century stems from their rule by the Oligarchy, which dates back to colonial times. The Oligarchy s lack of consistency in implementing and following through with reforms has prevented progress from occurring in the country. Furthermore, the many wars and political revolts in El Salvadorimpeded its economic and social growth. The main focus of the Oligarchy was to turn a profit. And because they essentially ran the economy, they assumed that their actions were best for both their profits and the country s economy as a whole. Their selfish single minded focus led to a growing economic inequalities, which was subsequently accommodated by ethnic and class... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the Indians were susceptible to the diseases brought over by the Spaniards, which led to a decline in the Indian population. Because the Oligarchy viewed the Indians as disposable labor, they did not feel the need to treat them to prevent their numbers from dwindling. Instead, the Spanish replaced them with slaves imported from Africa (Montgomery 71). This was one of the first signs of inequality brought to El Salvador by the Oligarchy. In the seventeenth century, the demand for cacao dropped. As a result of this, El Salvador plunged into an economic depression, and the Oligarchy had to find a new source of revenue, which they found in indigo (Montgomery 71). Indigo was profitable because of the increase in demand for textiles in Europe at this time (Krauss 59 60). This led the Oligarchy to increase its acquisition of land in El Salvador, which was mainly inhabited by the native Indians. On top of being extremely lucrative, indigo was far less labor intensive than cacao was, so it became the main focus of El Salvador s agriculture by 1600 (Montgomery 71). Unfortunately, these developments had high costs for the Indian populations. When the indigo rotted, diseases would be brought to the Indian villages that cultivated it, killing off entire villages in several instances. When this happened, they were merely replaced by another tribe (Krauss 60). Eventually the mistreatment of the Indians by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Questions On Alternative Dispute Resolution Since 1990s in England and Wales significant changes occur in the civil justice system. In response to Lord Woolf s Final Report Access to Justice the time consuming and expensive litigation has slowly been replaced by the Alternative Dispute Resolution, which has developed and evolved as a significant method for resolving disputes. Alternative dispute resolution is a broad concept, covering the full range of alternative activities available for the most appropriate way of resolving civil problems from small claims to complex commercial disputes. To reach a settlement, an ADR process is using a range of options, which can be divided into two main groups: Adjudicative Options and Non adjudicative Options. In Adjudicative Options the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Disputes are arising everywhere around us, whether in the public sector or in our families. To deal with all of them with competency the mediation practice is divided into different fields of activity and outlining them is crucial. Most mediation providers are practicing the main fields of mediation such as Civil and Commercial Mediation, covering the full range of civil and commercial disputes, Divorce and Other Family Mediation, where usually are discussed breakdowns of spouses, Workplace and Employment Dispute Resolution, which deals with all kinds of workplace disputes, such as discrimination, sexual harassment and unfair dismissal, and others fields. In the first years of this century the use of ADR, and more specific mediation, is gaining an extreme popularity. Many cases changed the thinking about ADR and contributed to mediation s growth. In April 1999 in England were introduced the Civil Procedure Rules that empowers the judges to embolden mediation and other forms of ADR, where it is appropriate. Main example is the case of Halsey v Milton Keynes NHS Trust, which puts the emphasis on the encouragement of the use of ADR, and the existence of sanctions if one of the parties unreasonably refuses mediation. In April 2006 an important change is made in CPR that requires that the parties should consider whether some form of alternative dispute resolution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nevertheless, the awareness of an engineer s responsibility is still vague in the society. In this concurrent era of technological revolutions, it has become highly relevant to give a definition to this. The question, whether engineer should remain within the limitations/ guidelines of the organizations they work for or not finds high relevancy and importance. There are ongoing strong debates on this matter, with a large group arguing engineering is a profession, where one has to make his skills ready to be available for whosoever pays him, as far as that falls within law (Deborah G, 1989). I personally support the contrary to this version, i.e., the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The default assumption in the discussion of morality is that, it is wrong to harm others (Kenneth, Andrew, Samuel C, 1983). As we say each and every person has the same right to live, it readily generates a responsibility to not to disturb other s lives. In depth, it automatically conveys the message, whose action influences the most should be most responsible in their works. This demands engineers to hold high standards of responsibility and commitment towards the society. The basic reason for my stance in this thesis is the importance and unique nature of engineering profession. There are two basic features which differentiates engineering profession. Engineers come across things and products mostly, rather than direct dealings with individual person. Furthermore, engineers work as a part of team or collective unlike most of the other profession (John, 1982). Even though, engineers act in groups, one should remember the fact that one is being governed doesn t degrade his moral responsibilities. Hence an individual working in a collective can also be said to possess quantifiable amount of moral responsibility towards the society, extend of which depends on the position and role he plays in the collective (Albert Deborah G, 1983). It is known that to fully appreciate the novel Lord of the Flies (1954) by William Golding (1911 1993) it is necessary to have read Robert Michael Ballantyne s (1825 1894) Coral Island (1858), or at least to understand its theme and treatment. And so, since it was Golding s intention to set himself to write an island story that deliberately challenged Ballantyne s model in Coral Island by inverting its assumptions and values we can explore multiple angles from which the two novels can be compared and studied. The naval officer s ignorance, his lack of understanding of what has been going on, is ironical.4 Furthermore, what Golding is trying to make clear at this instance is the decadent figure of the human adult, and by extension, of the whole human civilized world. Let us now turn to R.M. Ballantyne s Coral Island . Here, the concern about civilization, seems to be very well defined as well as good and evil are so clearly separated that there cannot be any conflict between them.5 In spite of this, when we come to a closer look we find a special complexity within a number of characters. Everything about Ballantyne s boys, who are older by some years than Golding s boys, is confident and positive. The novel as a whole, pictures the assumptions and values of the Victorian period in affirming progress, imperialism, self reliance, the Creator, the goodness of nature and of human nature when Christianised at least 6 Actually, this is quite an interesting item to focus on. • 20. The Cause Of The Stono Rebellion, South Carolina On Sunday, September 9th, 1739 the British colony of South Carolina was shaken by a slave uprising that culminated with the death of sixty people (The Stono Rebellion 1739). It was one of the first organized slave revolts in history (Stono Rebellion 1739). As a result, the Stono Rebellion started to change viewpoints on slavery. Slave revolts started to become a problem for plantation owners. Due to this conflict over slave revolts, specifically the Stono Rebellion, South Carolina compromised by passing the Negro Act of 1740 and other laws regarding slavery. At the time of the Stono Rebellion, Spanish Florida, a separate entity from the British colonies until 1763, became known as a safe haven for fugitive slaves (Stono Rebellion 1739). Seeking to cause turmoil in British colonies, Spain passed a law stating that any escaped slave that reaches Spanish territory (which is now Florida) would be freed. In response to this new law, a group of slaves led by a Angolan slave named Jemmy, met on September 9, 1739 near the Stono river to plan an escape to Spanish Florida (The Stono Rebellion Timeline). They planned to revolt on a Sunday when they had the most freedom from their daily routine. In preparation for their escape, it was realized that many of the slaves involved in the Stono Rebellion were from Congo (Stono Rebellion 1739). At the time, Congo was at war with itself making its people susceptible to being captured and sent into slavery (Stono Rebellion 1739). With this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Thoreau On The Duty Of Civil Disobedience Summary In his essay On the Duty of Civil Disobedience , Thoreau expresses his discontent for the lack American people s lack of action against the nation s injustice after his imprisonment for refusing to pay a poll tax. He establishes his argument by first acknowledging that government will always be flawed because it is a human institution and declaring that people should follow their conscience rather than blindly follow any government. In the fourth paragraph, he explains his reasoning Must the citizen ever for a moment... resign his conscience to the legislator? Why has every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward. It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. Thoreau encourages his reader to follow his conscience even to the point of rebelling against the government should its actions violate the conscience of the individual. In the first half of the essay, he asserts that disagreeing with unjust legislation while paying taxes to the government enacting such legislation makes one guilty of injustice himself. Thoreau s assertion that simply disagreeing with a government s practices has no effect in actually stopping the government from continuing them remains true today. However, the divisive political climate has driven people to adhere to their political beliefs far more tenaciously and both sides have a large number of followers. If people were to cease obeying the government in favor of following their own beliefs, the federal government would struggle to collect enough money in taxrevenue, so his method of rebellion would not work today. The essay was not difficult to read as Thoreau wrote it for the general public to read and understand his ideas, but due to its length, it may be helpful to break it into sections. The first half of the essay would benefit the Wit Lit and rhetoric unit as Thoreau uses it to establish a strong argument, and sections of the essay could serve as prompts for students to annotate in the AP Bootcamp unit. Furthermore, Thoreau attempts to better define the qualities of a good citizen and the role of a government, making this essay useful for the Definitionby Example unit. Trillions of taxpayer ... • 23. Changes And Development Of The Aging Process Epigenetic changes are currently recognized as part of the aging process and have been implicated in many age related chronic diseases such as AD (1 3). The term epigenetics includes a variety of processes known to regulate gene expression in a stable and potentially reversible way, without altering the primary DNAsequence (4). Since epigeneticsallow for the integration of long lasting non genetic inputs in the genome, research on age related disorders have recently focused in epigenetic mechanisms, and a growing number of epigenetic alterations in AD have been described recently (5). The best characterized epigenetic mechanisms include DNA methylation, histone posttranslational modifications, and non coding RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs). It is becoming increasingly evident the interplay between these mechanisms to establish the epigenetic states and expression patterns of many mammalian genes (1 3). For instance, it has been described that trimethylation of histone 3 at lysine 9 (H3K9me3) by the histone methyl transferase SUV39H1 is required for recruiting the DNA methyl transferase DNMT3b to pericentromeric repeats in order to allow heterochromatin structure (both H3 K9 methylation and DNA methylation are considered hallmarks of mammalian heterochromatin) (4). In turn, miRNAs can also control other epigenetic mechanisms; for example, miR 204 can target histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) (5), while miR 148 and miR 152 are reported to influence DNA methylation ... • 24. Theme Of Manipulation In Wuthering Heights In Wuthering Heights by Emily BrontГ«, Heathcliff s strong love for Catherine guides his transformation as a character. While Heathcliff enters the story as an innocent child, the abuse he receives at a young age and his heartbreak at Catherine s choice to marry Edgar Linton bring about a change within him. Heathcliff s adulthood is consequently marked by jealousy and greed due to his separation from Catherine, along with manipulation and a deep desire to seek revenge on Edgar. Although Heathcliff uses deceit and manipulation to his advantage throughout the novel, he is never entirely content in his current situation. As Heathcliff attempts to revenge Edgar Linton, he does not gain true fulfillment. Throughout Wuthering Heights, BrontГ« uses Heathcliff s vengeful actions to convey the message that manipulative and revenge seeking behaviors will not bring a person satisfaction. To begin, Heathcliff uses Isabella as a means of exacting revenge on Edgar Linton, whom he despises. When Heathcliff finds out Isabella is in love with him, he is delighted. His pleasure comes not from a mutual like for Isabella, but rather a vision for revenging Edgar. After Catherine lets slip that Isabella is in love with him, Heathcliff says to her, ...and if you fancy I ll suffer unrevenged, I ll convince you of the contrary, in a very little while! Meantime, thank you for telling me your sister in law s secret: I swear I ll make the most of it. And stand you aside! (112). Heathcliff s comment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Particularly, physical fitness is imperative for youthful people ages twelve to twenty one. However, for teenagers to get an incredible action is through school. Having physical instruction in schools impacts young people rationally, emotionally and physically (Maclaren, 2010). It is imperative for students to take an interest in a physical instruction class since it constructs an establishment for cooperation in exercises further down the road (Barbieri, 2014). If the physical instruction educator shows age suitable advancement aptitudes, the kid is capable of performing well. A great deal of these aptitudes loans themselves to a tyke having the capacity to perform best in the classroom. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you re like me, you can t wait to get your fingers in the dirt and you want to get that old brown lawn looking lush and green again. If you live in the western United States, and you know that after October your lawn will become dormant and brown, the following is a 4 step process to help renovate your lawn. The fundamentals of getting that beautiful yard begins with a spring fertilizer; nitrate and phosphate. When you look at a bag of fertilizer, there are usually two or three numbers on the bag, for example: 30 10 0 which means 30 parts nitrate which is always the first number and 10 parts phosphate which is always the second number. The nitrate greens up the lawn fast and the phosphate establishes a strong root system. This is your spring fertilizer, which should be applied first. A good way to decide when to apply fertilizer is to do it close to the holidays; Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day. If you are worried about weeds, you can use a fertilizer with a pre emergence in it. In case you are unfamiliar with this type of product, you need to know that a pre emergence keeps seeds from germinating. It does not differentiate between flower, vegetable or weed seeds, so you must be sure that it is not applied in areas where you have flower or vegetable seeds. Many people like to use a weed and feed fertilizer, thinking this will eliminate all the weeds. A weed and feed fertilizer can only be used when weeds are actively growing because the chemical in the product has to attach itself to the weed in order to kill it. If applied before the weeds are growing, you will have wasted your time and your fertilizer. Memorial day fertilization means a fertilizer with less nitrate, such as a 25 5 10, which is 25 parts of nitrate, 5 parts phosphate, and 12 parts of potassium. • 34. Hamlet Movie Adaptation Hamlet was written in 1609 by William Shakespeare; Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and playwrights. Since the original performance of Hamlet, there have been many movie adaptations. Some of the many well known film directors for these movies are Kenneth Branagh, Franco Zeffirelli and Sir Laurence Olivier. From the above film directors, I will compare and contrast Zeffirelli s production of Hamletto the original Shakespeare s play Hamlet. Zeffirelli s version of Hamlet is one of the sound versions of Hamlet. It was produced and starred Mel Gibson in the late 1900s. Comparing the film version of Hamlet to the play, Zeffirelli has made noticeable changes in the movie including some clothing choices and characters reactions. He also altered and cut lines from the original Shakespeare play. Shakespeare centralized the theme of revenge in the ghost scene in Act 1 Scene 5 with the use of literary devices. In the movie adaptation, Zeffirelli used a different approach to portray the theme, without the use of any literary devices. He instead used costume choices, characters reactions and different word choices. Zeffirelli used a creative way to portray Hamlet s father wearing a white shirt with black pants instead of Shakespeare s choice of armour. He used this to show how Hamlet s father would look in 90 s society. He made Hamlet wear black clothing throughout the movie to show that Hamlet was the only one who cared and grieved throughout his mother s marriage and until his own death. Zeffirelli changed the characters reactions throughout the scenes. One of the character changes is during Hamlet s father s ghost soliloquy. Instead of his father being projected as angry towards his wife and his brother in the movie, he uses a calm tone. In the movie while Hamlet was listening to his father, he should have looked angry and upset. Instead he had no emotions while listening to his father. In the movie, he should have an angry tone and should be eager to plot revenge on who killed his father, instead he did not talk throughout his father s death story. Zeffirelli chose this so that the audience will wait and anticipate when Hamlet s anger will grow and his reaction during the scene. With the removal and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, the whole story of The Renegade, or A Confused Mind is about the change of religion s belief of the narrator. For Jonas, or The Artist at Work, the title itself borrows the name of a Christian character Jonas, who want justice be carried even at the price of disobeying God. In the growing stone, the suitor agreed to carry a heavy stone to church if he was saved from the shipwreck. The pray itself is an act of religion. It implies that due to his helping of the suitor, in other words, his own kindness, D Arrast had found his inner happiness in this world filled with unfortunate. In comparison, the stone, which is a symbol of the religion in Iguapo, evoke a sense of heaviness. The people in Iguapo was burdened by its religion instead of pursuing happiness. Clocky Marketing Analysis Introduction In 2005 Gauri Nanda, supported by neuroscience research that demonstrated the depth of the average American s sleep deficiency problem, created significant media buzz with the prototype of her revolutionary alarm clock Clocky . Unsure of how to position a product that had a growing following but was still over a year away from production, Nanda was faced with a number of difficult decisions as she attempted to devise a marketing plan to bring her Clocky project to fruition. The following is our analysis of her situation, and suggestions on how she should proceed. As stated in the case, Nanda believed this segment is less risky because claiming Clocky as the revolutionary product which would change people s morning patterns could raise too high an expectation regarding performance, which in turn can be difficult to meet consistently (note that the Clocky is still a prototype and its functionality is not yet proven). Targeting Clocky first as a robotic household pet would be a good foundational step to help Nanda raise the necessary capital investment for further expansion, particularly in terms of the knowledge and technologies that will be needed to update the functionality and reliability of a second generation Clocky. In this way Nanda also leaves herself the possibility to cover the NEED MARKET with further generations of Clocky. Moreover, Clocky s furry exterior (in the original prototype), revolutionary technology application and playful nature lend it a high internal consistency with the fun segment customers who seek out these distinctive features which not found in traditional, existing products (Clocky is the first alarm clock with pet like habits). The only concern associated with Nanda s targeting Clocky to the Fun Market is the risk of Clocky being confused with a fad, which has a very short acceptance period and tends not to satisfy a legitimate, strong need. Pros And Cons Of Juvenile Drug Courts Drug Courts Haley Klimesh Community Based Corrections September 29, 2017 Drug Courts Drug courts are problem solving courts that take a public health approach using a specialized model in which the judiciary, prosecution, defense bar, probation, law enforcement, mental health, social service, and treatment communities work together to help addicted offenders into long term recovery. Drug courts began in 1989 in Florida, because it was assumed that people that had first time offenses with drugs, or low level drug users could resist future drug use by this intervention than sending them to get locked up without any treatment. Different treatment plans are made for each client. Individualized treatment plans are used to make referrals and they are updated periodically. Drug courts are for nonviolent drug offenders. The offender s can have misdemeanors or felonies, but they have to agree to participate. An initial substance abuse assessment will determine the eligibility someone has for the program participation (Alarid, Montemayor, Dannhaus, 2012). Drug court treatment lasts one year and is based on a levels system. Phase one will begin with the most hours, a full time inpatient or 12 hours of outpatient per week. Treatment includes detoxifying in different ways including acupuncture, counseling, drug testing, and retina testing. Phase two begins when the offender is ready and progressing. As the patient progresses through and hits marks of success, the number of levels usually go down to less intensive outpatient treatment. And phase four is the final phase that needs to be completed before the person can graduate. The rash will first form blisters, then scab over, and finally clear up over a few weeks (WebMD, 2015). Pain and the rash are the telltale signs of shingles. Usually the rash is more painful than it is itchy. The shingles virus attacks the nerve roots in the skin. Nerve roots in the skin are located on both sides of the body. The rash usually affects the middle of the back towards the chest. It may affect the face around one eye. It is possible to have more than one area of rash on the body. When the virus becomes reactivated, it travels up the nerve roots to the area of skin supplied by those specific nerve roots. • 45. How Did The Persian Empire Grow Throughout The Achaemenid... In order for something to grow, it needs roots. The roots will soon develop and continue to grow. In relation to this statement, the Achaemenid Empire, in which lasted from 550 330 BC, began as Cyrus II, otherwise known as Cyrus the Great, had continued to conquer lands and grow his empire. By doing so, Cyrus II created the most extensive empire that has been dated throughout history. However, in order for the empire to last, it needed to continue to develop in ways that would benefit the livelihoods of the people. Based on this, the Achaemenid Empireprospered because the Persians had created a stable government, in which organized the empire, contributing to the success of the empire. Likewise, the Achaemenid Empire flourished due to its social class system, which maintained order throughout the empire, along with the completion of tasks that needed to be fulfilled in the empire. Furthermore, the Achaemenid Empire continued to thrive and prosper, due to the myriad amounts of infrastructure that the Persians were able to create and utilize. The Persian government needed to continually maintain stability throughout the empire, as the empire steadily grew in populations and territory. This conveys how the Persian Empire grew in diversity. In order to do so, Persian authority both created an official language and culture, and divided the Empire into provinces, otherwise known as satrapies. Thus, larger numbers of individuals are living in close proximity of disease vectors. In this paper I have discussed the vector borne disease of Lyme disease, and the zoonotic disease of Rabies. • 47. Eddie Mabo Case And Their Role In The Case Describe the individual of group that initiated the case and their role in the case. Provide background information about them. Eddie Mabo s ancestors lived for centuries on a group of three islands in the Torres Strait, near Cape York. The islands, known as the Murray Islands, were annexed by the Queensland Government in 1879 which meant they became a part of Australia Queensland became responsible for their administration but despite this annexation, and the presence of European missionaries on the islands, the indigenous people permanently and continuously inhabited them with very little change to their way of life as a result of the annexation. They continued to live in their settled communities; they maintained their traditional beliefs and customs; there was a clear way of passing on their garden plots of land, and ways of settling disputes about legal matters. Mabo was a long running case launched by the Meriam people of the Murray Islands to challenge the validity of state land laws and seek recognition of rights to land. It involved the High Court considering the application of Australian law to the rights of Indigenous Australians, in particular regarding the legal concepts of terra nullius and native title What was the event of right violation that led to legal action being taken? In the late 1970s, the Queensland Government attempted to dispossess some of the local people in their own land. In 1982, Five members on the island of Mer decided to take the matters to court, one of these people was Eddie Mabo. They claimed that their rights to the land had not been extinguished by the Crown when their islands were taken over or annexed by Queensland. They still had a legal right to the land based on the legal concept of native title right of ownership based on traditional ownership of the land. The Queensland Government s response was to pass the Coast Islands Declaratory Act, 1985. They claimed that: All rights to the land went to the Crown on the 1879 annexation that native title had been extinguished, and that no compensation for loss of land would be due to the Meriam people. The military used to go there during the Vietnam War in order to rest and distract themselves. From then on Thailand became a land of origin, transit and destination for children trafficking. Nowadays the number of Thai children involved in the sex industry is decreasing as a result of legislation, economical and educational improvements, many children from neighboring border countries are being trafficked into Thailand, or ethnic tribes children trafficked within the country from the north. Thailand s efforts in the struggle against children sexual exploitation are made less effective because of difficulties in enforcing the law: cases of child sexual exploitation are not the main concern for police and there are complications in reporting cases to local authorities because of the language gap and corruption. 2.1 Victims and Causes: As I said before the number of Thai children involved in the sex industry is decreasing but not in the whole country as a matter of fact the northern hill tribe children are particularly exposed to internal trafficking. The state policies discriminate against these children preventing them from having regular education and

Second, the potential sources of savings vary depending on different system bids. It is the fact that a bid will have no cost components associated with those activities when it is no required on new hires and pilot releases. Third, even using the system, there is a trade off between block hour shortages and other costs on the training plans. Therefore, when block hour shortages cost increases, the training cost will decrease, vice versa. It is unable to decrease both block hour shortages cost and training costs together.
