Essay About My Mother
Crafting an essay about a personal and emotionally charged subject such as "My Mother" can be
both an intricate and challenging endeavor. The complexity arises not from a lack of material or
emotions, but rather from the abundance of feelings, memories, and experiences that one might
want to encapsulate within the confines of a few pages. The challenge lies in distilling a lifetime
of admiration, gratitude, and love into a coherent narrative that does justice to the profound
influence a mother can have.
Attempting to convey the essence of a relationship as profound as the one with one's mother
demands a delicate balance of sentimentality and objectivity. It's akin to walking a tightrope
suspended between nostalgia and the present, between the minutiae of everyday moments and
the overarching impact on one's character and life path. The struggle lies in articulating the
intangible aspects of this connection, the subtle nuances that make it unique to each individual.
Moreover, there is the constant battle against clichГ©s and platitudes. Expressing the depth of a
mother's impact without resorting to overused phrases and generic descriptions requires a
nuanced approach. Finding the right words to illuminate the specific qualities that make one's
mother exceptional can be a formidable task.
In addition, one must grapple with the challenge of creating a piece that resonates universally.
While the essay is deeply personal, it should also possess a universality that allows readers to
connect with the emotions and experiences shared. Striking this balance is a delicate art that
requires careful consideration of language, tone, and perspective.
As the writer endeavors to encapsulate the essence of their relationship with their mother, they
may find themselves navigating the waters of vulnerability. Sharing personal anecdotes and
emotions can be an intimate process, and the fear of exposing too much or too little may add an
extra layer of complexity to the writing journey.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "My Mother" is a formidable task that
demands the writer to navigate through a myriad of emotions, memories, and linguistic
challenges. It requires a delicate balance between the personal and the universal, all while
avoiding clichГ©s and maintaining a sense of vulnerability. Ultimately, it is an endeavor that
calls for introspection, creativity, and a keen understanding of the unique nuances that shape the
mother-child relationship.

Battle Of Agincourt Analysis
The Battle of Agincourt in 1415 is one of the most famous battles in history. Made
popular by Shakespeare s play Henry V, many people have forgotten or are
unaware of the true details of the actual battle. Myriad details have never been
satisfyingly resolved. One of the controversies involves the fact that Henry V
ordered the deaths of the French prisoners that he had gained during the battle.
According to most historians, Henry commanded his soldiers to kill the prisoners
after the battle was already won, though he may or may not have realized it at the
time. In regard to this fact, researchers have called Henry everything from a clever
strategian to a cruel tyrant. There are a few eyewitness accounts, called chronicles, but

Shakespeare introduces the notion that Henry commissioned his invasion of
France upon the instability of his position on the throne as his main focus, as well
as his claim to the French throne. Therefore, his determination was authentic,
possibly making him resolve to win at all costs as he faced the French army that
reputably was much larger than his own. According to Shakespeare s tale, the
killing of the prisoners during the battle of Agincourt seems to have been induced
by a sudden panic on the part of Henry V when he heard a sudden commotion and
realized that his army was being attacked from behind, just as his victory seemed
assured. While this latter concept corresponds fairly well with the original accounts,
Shakespeare s rendition of the event must be handled with caution as historical
fiction, not historical fact. Additionally, in the play, immediately before this
happens, he hears a vivid account of how one of his relatives died in the battle, and
his grief may have played a part in the suddenness of the order (Shakespeare, 1599,
Henry V, Act IV, Scene VI) Five accounts currently exist that have survived from the
time of the battle in which the
Essay On Formative Assessment
Enhancing Student Learning through Formative Assessment
Rationale
Recently, whenever I hear current teachers discussing about assessing students,
Formative Assessment is sure to be highlighted. Nowadays this method (formative
assessment) is becoming popular among schools and is being applied widely in
schools including my own school. Loughland and Kilpatrick (2015) identified in the
few past decades, formative assessment has turned out to be the main goal for
teachers and educational systems. On the foundation of Loughland and Kilpatrick
(2015) findings and from my experience in the field of teaching, I found out
nowadays teachers and school stakeholders strongly feel that formative assessment is
the best method to assess in order to enhance students learning. For these evident
reasons, I am interested in finding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether formative assessment is the best method to be used to assess students, can a
particular method of assessing students have an impact in students learning, is
teacher s role in assessing students important for students learning and does students
voice and formative assessment have any relation in enhancing students learning, are
some questions that I want to get crystal clear answers for and look into with keen
interest to find out whether students learning is enhanced through formative
assessment. Hence in this essay I will be digging into, a descriptive, a critical and a
reflective deep look through my own experiences, researches and theories in the
related field on the questions or issues mentioned above to find out whether formative
assessment in real enhances students learning. The main focus of this essay is the
urge of finding out whether formative assessment in real enhance students learning.

Estella Lopez s Case Study
The trouble with her breathing began a few months after Estella Lopez moved to
Barrio Logan. Lopez is certain she knows why: At five or six in the morning, you
start hearing heavy noise. Like machinery working together. Like heavy metal
banging. Lopez lives on Main Street in an affordable housing complex. She is 37 but
looks older. She speaks very little English and answers questions with the help of an
interpreter.
One of the things is, I can never open the windows in the apartment, because my
children are constantly sick. The little one, if we don t take care of her, she is going
to develop asthma. Lopez s six year old daughter shows signs of being in the disease
s early stages. The doctor gave us a breathing machine for her. That s why the
windows are shut, so she can breathe clean air.
Lopez and her 13 year old daughter take pills as a part of barrio living. She roots
through her handbag and produces a small bottle filled with tablets. Loratadine, it
says on the label, a drug which is commonly used to treat allergies. The 13 year old
is allergic to the dust in the air, she says. And I am allergic to things like smoke in the
air. The smoke that comes from the trucks and the contamination they are creating. ...

The School System And Education Essay
Education has taken a different course throughout the years. The way the educational
system was set to be performed differs than how it is practiced today. The system has
become more advanced in the ways of which are important when it comes to
educating a student. In one of the ways which the system has improved and became
more advanced was by first hiring higher educated teachers who meet the exact
requirements, and then the environment for learning becoming safer and more
appropriate for students who want to learn. Although, the school system drastically
changed and educationbecame more common and important to a vast majority of
society, it does not necessarily mean the public school system perfected their ways of
providing education. The system is still filled with flaws that seems to be affecting
students, teachers, and the school as a whole. These flaws that are well alive in the
public school system are directed to the ones who cause these flaws the school
district. The issues happening in the public school system deeply alters the way the
students are being taught, even disturbs the way the teacher is teaching and lecturing.
Without having the proper support needed, the students wouldn t be able to fulfil
their full potential in learning. Although, comparing the school system from its initial
era, it is believed that the school system today has drastically changed for the better,
and could still use some improvements. The issues occurring in the current school
New Physics Essay
What is the (next accessible) scale of new physics?
We do not have a clear answer. We are living through a challenging and exciting era,
in sharp contrast to the situation in the past (half) century in physics.
The discovery of the Higgs boson, the determination of the non zero $theta_ {13} $
neutrino mixing parameter, the first detection of gravitation waves, and many
significantly improved experimental probes for new physics beyond the standard
model mark the great triumphs of our understandings of nature.
Profound puzzles of nature, such as hierarchy problem, dark matter, neutrino
properties, matter antimatter asymmetry, strong CP, flavor structure, etc., are actively
being explored but yet remain to be solved. However, no clear ... Show more content

My research on supersymmetry~(SUSY) includes DM physics in conjunction with
Higgs boson, SUSY particle searches in scenarios such as compressed spectra,
stealthy SUSY and displaced SUSY with long lived particles, as well as using the
Higgs bosons as portals to SUSY particles.
Moreover, I am experienced and interested in QCD and Jet observables at colliders in
both traditional kinematics construction and Machine Learning methods.
Furthermore, my research in studies of general resonances also stands out, such as
colored resonances, $tbar t$ resonances, $Z^prime$ and $W^prime$ through
assorted asymmetries and electroweak radiation observables.
Currently, I have pioneered in using unconventional on shell interference effects to
between signals and background amplitudes to probe new physics. I have identified
several critical processes at the LHC and found these interesting on shell

Mary Read Research Paper
Mary Read was an english female pirate. She and Anne Bonny are two of the most
famed female pirates of all time. Mary Read was born in England in the late 17th
century. Her birth was around 1691. Mary s father died before she was born, and
her older brother died soon after that. Mary s mother began to disguise Mary as a
boy after the death of her older brother. This was done to continue to receive
financial support from his paternal grandmother. The grandmother was apparently
fooled, and Read and her mother lived on the inheritance into her teenage years.
Still dressed as a boy Read then found work as a foot boy, and later found
employment on a ship. Read, in a male disguise, proved herself through battle, but
fell in love with a soldier.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her and the soldier got married. Her husband died at an early age, and she started
the act back up. She also resumed military service in Holland. There was no room
in advancement, so she quit and boarded a ship bound for the West Indies. Read s
ship was taken by pirates and they forced her to join the team. She took the king s
pardon and a commision to privateer, until that ended with her joining the crew in
mutiny. In 1720 she joined John Rackham and his companion, the female pirate
Anne Bonny, who both believed that she was a man. Read s gender was revealed
when Bonny told Read that she was a woman, apparently because Bonny was
attracted to her because she thought Read was a man. Releasing this, Read revealed
that she was to a woman. However, Bonny s lover, Racham, did not know this and
suspected romantic involvement between the two of them. To abate his jealousy,
Bonny told him that she was also a women. There was only one other crew member
who knew Read s true gender, the father of her child, an unnamed passenger from a

The Vampire, By Anne Rice
For the majority of time since literary vampires were created, they were represented
as monstrous creatures without souls whose sole purpose in literature was to kill and
cause terror until they were ultimately destroyed. These literary vampires were slowly
given more human characteristics, but it was Anne Rice who radically humanized the
vampire, by creating the cultured vampire who, in some ways, represents an
improved, superior human. In the Interview with the Vampire (1976), Anne Rice
juxtaposed Louis de Pointe du Lac, a humanized, emotional, vampire, to other
vampires in order to emphasize his cultured nature in a modern world lacking
morality. Although Louis was a vampire for most of the novel, he represented
humanity in an absolute yet rudimentary manner: through his struggle to find
meaning in a world lost to modernity, which he, with his religious beliefs, believed
had forsaken him. While Louis de Pointe du Lac, the protagonist of the Interview
with the Vampire, seemed to be going constantly through a series of losses in the
novel, he also made the best of the obstacles presented to him representing humanity
by attempting to find happiness through his struggles. The first loss that Louis
experienced his brother seemed to set the theme for the rest of his life. Paul, his
brother, killed himself after Louis refused to believe that Paul s religious visions
were real and; therefore, refused to sell the indigo plantations. Louis blamed himself
for the death of

subway system to the electric grid of thousands of household. VIKI which is designed
to serve humanity had questioned humanity itself as humanity s greatest enemy then

Robert Alter Chapter Summary
Research in the field of biblical literary criticism have rapidly increased in recent
decades. The publication of Robert Alter s 1981 The Art of Biblical Narrative
stamps the symbolic arrival of a style of analysis that has now become entrenched in
modern biblical research. Robert Alter argues that the Bibleis a largely cohesive
literary text to be read with a literary purpose. In this essay it is asked if
assumptions about texts predicated on the study of modern literature can be
profitably applied to a multiple authored, multi layered collection of ancient
provenance such as the Hebrew Bible and offers a brief critique of Alter s discussion
of the artistic merits and unity of Genesis chapters 37 39.
For a thousand years the Western world has looked toward the Bible as a work of
sacred history and the foundational account of the development of the Jewish people.
While Alter does not completely reject the historicity of the Bible, he sees it as
secondary; rather, in Alter s view, the authors of the Bible developed a form of prose
fiction in order to tell the revolutionary tale of monotheistic revelation contained
within its pages. Chapter by chapter Alter makes clear the various literary methods
and techniques employed by the Biblical authors, including narration, repetition,
parallelism, analogy and direct dialogue. By learning to uncover the inherently
literary nature of the Bible, Alter hopes to reach a greater understanding of Biblical
narrative, and, in
Reflection Of The Library Reflection
Throughout the Freshman Inquiry Writing Seminar (FIQWS) in Narrative Medicine,
I learned about the various ways in which we can become better healers to society,
doctors who establish a personal connection with their patient. In addition, I obtained
ways to improve my overall writing so that it sounds more mature, but at the same
time interesting. Throughout this course, there were various course learning
outcomes such as developing strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising
and editing, locating research sources in the library s databases or archives and on the
Internet and evaluate them for credibility, accuracy, timeliness, and bias, and
composing texts that integrate your stance with appropriate sources using strategies
such as summary, critical analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and argumentation.
Throughout the written assignments in this course, I believe I was able to improve
my writing process as a whole; however, I believe that I could have done a better job
utilizing the library sources present at CCNY, which would have ultimately
strengthened my paper, especially the research paper I wrote. I believe that
throughout all my essays, I have developed strategies for drafting, collaborating,
revising and editing. In my first essay, which focused on the literary analysis of The
Aquarium by Aleksander Hemon, I created an outline that contained quotations that
supported my central question: why does Hemon actually decide to name the title of
his piece
White Male Privilege Analysis
1. To be quite honest, I am shocked by the article s hyperbolization of the concept
of white male privilege . Make no mistake about it, in general, certain groups
absolutely do have it easier than others. However, we ve all been dealt a hand, so to
speak, and as a result everyone has a discrete set of privileges AND disadvantages.
2. The statistic with respect to the top 1 percent having the same amount of wealth as
the bottom 95 percent caught my attention, and it directly relates to my previous
answer. The reality is that the one privilege that trumps all others is wealth. So as
long the public spotlight is on trivial issues, and not on problems that truly matter
such as the abhorrent wealth distribution in this country, we will all be

The violence of integrity might be the first step of attackers to attack the data and
make it corrupt or misuse it which reduces the organization assurance against
opponents.
Loss of Availability
If the mission critical information system is not in the access of end users the
organization s objective might be impacted. This in turn shows the loss of data s
functionality and operational works less integrity. For example, if the mission
critical system is not available for the staff, they might not be able to feed the data to
the system when it is ready. So it is important to keep the data system available to the
users.
Loss of Confidentiality
The data confidentiality known as protection of data information from hackers or
unauthorized users. This loss of data confidentiality leads to the data to be accessible
by hackers or intruders. It s probably their first step to get into the system and kills
the confidentiality of the system. To keep the data safe from hackers or intruders it is
utmost important to keep the data integrated and safe so that no one can access it
other than the authorized personals.
Data Quantitative versus Qualitative Assessment
Qualitative Assessment
The qualitative assessment is known for prioritizing the risk areas that needs
immediate attention for impact analysis. The main advantage of the qualitative
impact analysis is to get access of the risks that needs immediate attention, this lead to

Time And Place To Meditate
Where, and when to meditate
Presumably, easier to find time and place to meditate, as long as you live alone.
However, if you live with a family, you are confronted with additional complications.
Fortunately, in the beginning, it is enough five ten minutes to be alone, to sit on your
cushion. Later, as a more advanced meditator, probably you will want more time, by
then hopefully, your family might be accustomed already to your meditation habit,
and likely they won t hinder you. We were talking about what type of meditation
could be the best for you. Now we discuss the best time and the place to meditate.
Where to meditate?
Foremost, let s begin with the easiest, the breath meditation. Usually, the
recommendation for that, it should take twenty thirty minutes. Initially, it can be
troublesome to find a fixed time for it. Besides, it may feel tiring to sit still that long.
Moreover, you can have too many disturbing thoughts, you do not know what to do
with, or perhaps it just seems way too boring to sit half an hour without doing
anything.

Nice try, but not the money since, we can increase its quantity. The single element
we certainly feel to have a shortage is time. People always have lack of time, and no
one can increase the daily 24 hours to 25. We feel the lack of time especially at the
end of our life. Otherwise, the time has an extraordinary nature. The more action you
fit into a given time, the less experience will remain in your memory in the future. In
case, you regularly operate in a multitask mode; you let the worth remembering
moments flow away between your fingers. On the other hand, meanwhile, you give
yourself enough time to enjoy what you are doing, paying attention to the present,
interestingly, your memory will be full of pleasant moments. So to speak, I want you
to allow yourself to stop for a minute. Sit still, and be your own attentive
The Importance of Documenting Patient Status and Care
Documentation of patient status and care is important for a variety of reasons. First,
it allows health care professionals to plan and evaluate treatment. Health care records
are also used as a communication tool by multidisciplinary teams. Documentation is
also used as evidence in legal matters, and for reimbursements. Health care agenizes
also use electronic health recorddata to study and improve future care. Because there
are so many things that health records are used for there are important things you
should be sure to include. When documenting the most crucial parts is documenting
interventions and the patients reactions to chosen interventions. If there are any
significant events or changes in the patient or the plan it must be documented.
Always be sure to documentif and when informed consent for procedures and
actions is needed. If the patient refuses treatment or leaves against medical advice be
sure to document. Medications are always documented along with any occurrences
such as medication errors or falls. Most importantly always include the date and time
on all of the notes. With all this information that should be included in documentation
it is helpful to sort it into subjective and objective data. Objective data is going to be
something that is gathered through physical assessment or from lab and diagnostic
tests. Most objective data can be measured such as vital signs. Subjective data is
information given to the nurse by the patient or a family

College Athletes Should Be Paid
Every year millions of people wait and wait for march to come around just for
college basketball. Trying to make the perfect bracket to win some money against
their friends, and of course the right to gloat about having a bracket. During march
you can t watch one television show without seeing a commercial with a college
basketball player on it. Everyone playing as well as everyone watching is filled
with excitement and anticipation to see who will be crowned the next national
champion. College athletes are some of the hardest working people in America,
and they do it all for free just for the fans entertainment. Most Division I athletes are
given a full scholarship for the sport that they are playing, but that doesn t give them
money for living expenses such as groceries, food off campus, clothing, or even a
night out on the weekends. College athletes should be given a certain salary for the
semester, not only will it teach them managing money but also give them the money
that they have earned for their job like extra curricular activity. Most athletes come
from low income households where there families depend on them to contribute
significantly. With how busy they become as college athletes they can barely find
time to fit all of there studies in let alone get a part time job. Being a college athlete
myself I understand the grind of what an athlete has to go through. Most athletes start
of the day with weight lifting in the morning or some type of conditioning, then
Should Greyhound Racing Be Banned Across All States

A couple of years ago, Australia watched on from their tellies as Four Corners
unraveled the darkest of secrets in modern day greyhound racing. We exposed the
gruesome sport for what it is, a lower class Melbourne Cup which sends a clear and
undeniable statement that the GRV (Greyhound Racing Victoria) have a lack of
motivation and desire to fix the sport. The allegations that live baiting is used during
training and the corruption surrounding the policing of the sport, further supports the
idea that greyhoundracing should indefinitely be banned in all states across Australia.
Greyhound racingis completely out dated and will leave future generations puzzled at
why we encouraged the continuation of this disgusting sport.
Fear, a common misconception regarding the GRV. Greyhound Racing Victoria, an
institution which has no ethical values. The constant reminder which is apparent
when discussing the lack of motivation and desire to fix the sport, they so dearly
cherish. The underwhelming reality of the situation that they simply just don t care,
or don t have the resources to make an impact. Is the GRV ready to take serious
consideration of the recent events, and make a formal statement regarding the live
baiting training centers? Or is the Australian Government forced to ban the sport
across all states? I personally think that Greyhound Racing should be banned across
all states because, the industry once promised that they would do better back in 2015,

Carpe Diem Poem
Carpe diem is Latin for seize the day and can be translated into YOLO or you only
live once in modern day society. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love written by
Christopher Marlowe conveys this message the best compared to the other
mentioned Carpe diem poems due to its tone, syntax and symbolism. However, the
Carpe diem poem To The Virgins, To Make Much of Time written by Andrew
Marvell appears to be least persuasive out of the other Carpe diem poem due to its
hasty tone, figurative language and presumed audience. Also the poems have their
similarities due to their diction and underlying themes along with difference among
their conceits and rhymeschemes.

However, throughout the rest of the poem the tone is seen as playful yet serious.
Also within those lines it claims flowers smiles, which is just a personification
because we all know that flower do not smile. The targeted audience for this specific
poem would be toward young naive lovers, who would appear as virgins. These
literary factor were not highly supportive of this poem and therefore makes it less
persuasive.
The Passionate Shepherd to His Love has some similarities to To The Virgins, to
Make Much Time , such as their diction, and underlying theme. For instance, in The
Passionate Shepherd to His Love the diction, or choice and use of words the author
conveys is to come live with the protagonist and he will provide passion within
your life. This appears similar to To The Virgins, to Make Much Time message of
give me your virginity and it will be worthwhile within your life. Both poems use
diction to convince their lovers to go with them. However To the Virgins, to Make
Much Time is not as soothing as The Passionate Shepherd to His Love . Both poems
share an underlying theme of making the most of the time presented or seizing the
day.
The Passionate Shepherd to His Love also has some differences compared to To The
Virgins, to Make Much Time , essentially its conceits or expression and rhyme
What Is Pegasus Myth
I m choosing the Pegasus constellation because the myth/legend of it is very
interesting and I have quite a similar personality. It is the seventh largest constellation
in the sky. The 8 named stars are Markab, Scheat, Algenib, Enif, Homan, Matar,
Baham, and Salm. Markab is the brightest star in Pegasus.
In Greek mythology, Pegasus was a white winged horse. The most famous/well
known myth involving Pegasus is the one of Bellerophon, the hero who was sent
by King Iobates of Lycia to kill the Chimera, a monster that breathed fire and was
slaughtering people. Bellerophon found Pegasus and tamed him using a golden
bridle given to him by the goddess Athena. Then he swooped down on the Chimera
from the sky and killed the monster with his lance and arrows. After this and
several other heroic deeds for King Iobates, Bellerophon let the successes get to his
head. Riding Pegasus, he tried to fly to Olympus and join the gods. He didn t
succeed. He fell off the horse and back to Earth.
Pegasus did however make it to Olympus. There, Zeus used the horse to carry his
thunder and lightning, and eventually placed him among the constellations. The
constellation Pegasus is depicted with only the top half of the horse. ... Show more

America as an immigrant to start a better life for their future generations and for
opportunities. Most people came here with nothing but bringing along their cultures,
knowledge, beliefs and behaviors which they can be shared amongst others in groups
and society. In society, starting with the earlier generation there was always shared
culture of classes, although everyone portrays immigrants as the lowest status. They
are always disliked particularly for coming here as an immigrant, even though most of
their backgrounds or their parent s background statuses were very much similar
whether they wantto admit it or not. It s how they hold themselves in society. People
are divided into different classes and treated differently. Most immigrants have to
settle in, adapting to the American lifestyle, whether they like it or not, they ll have
to blend in and start off with low paying jobs and making new friends. Adapting to
lifestyle, the choice of food and to how they communicate. It is always harder for
immigrants to unite with everyone since people are so strict against immigrants; they
judge them as outcasts by what they eat, what they wear and especially how one
communicates. High culture/elites think they are higher ranking so therefore there is
always miscommunication. They think they are way better and wouldn t want except
one another because of status or flaws. In the reading Mother
Realism In Umberto D
The Italian Neo realist film Umberto D directed by Vittorio De Sica follows the life
of elderly Umberto Domenico Ferrari, a pensioner struggling to get by after
pensions have been reduced post World War II. In the aftermath of major tragedy
and suffering, such as the war that Umberto lived through, hope can be hard to find.
Society is a web of dependence. Individuals rely on the government to provide a
support structure of benefits and protection. Individuals count on each other for love
and validation. When one strand of the web collapses, disaster can result. In this
case, the government let Umberto down by not providing his pension. His life tilts
on the edge, but the dependence of his dog brings it back into balance. Umberto D

Descriptive Essay On Cardio Workout
On the 28th of September about 7 o clock in the afternoon, it is time to start my
cardio workout routine. Walking up to the PLANET FITNESS building I feel
anxious and back at my comfort place. This old familiar feeling comes to me as I
enter the glass doors; hearing the music playing and the sight of people working
out on the wide variety of machines and free weights. As I told by my instructor of
gym by being the place to go to relieve stress, awesome for freshman networking,
great to go and be social, and likes how it makes people feel healthier mentally and
physically.
People usually go to the gym after a long day of classes if they are bored, or if they
just fill they should go workout. They just couple of miles away from my home.
Since it was little bit far I took my car to ride there. I start my routine workout by
stretching out and getting a platform ready to treadmill; then when I am finished
running; I tell my friend that I am ready to start bench press. I lay down on the
bench and hear the chattering of the people around me, people s music from their
earbuds, music in the background, and weight hitting the floor. I adjust my hands on
the bar and do my benching exercise. After working out for about an hour, so I went
other side of building to do some more cardio workouts above to observe the lifters
below. I then asked to myself, why is the weight part of the gym located on this
particular side of the building. I got my
Benefits Of A Portable Biodegradable Potty Essay
TARGET AUDIENCE:
The most likely and most accessible place for users within the healthcare industry of
our team s product, a portable biodegradable potty, are hospitals and nursing homes.
Given that our team is located in Buffalo, New York, institutions in that area are
whom we are looking to target initially with a possible expansion to the rest of the
state in the near future. According to the USNews Health website, there are 14
hospitals and 50 nursing homes in the Buffalo metropolitan area.17,18 Most nursing
home residents struggle with bowel management and as a result, the nursing homes
are expected to have a consistent and reliable need for a portable potty.19 In
hospitals, the need for a portable potty is just as necessary. Many are rendered
temporarily incapacitated after surgeries or surgical like procedures. This set of
people, the residents in the nursing homes and most of the patients in hospitals, are
our intended end users.
To effectively find a way to become a preferred manufacturer and supplier in the
area, we will need to raise awareness about the product to the nurses, doctors and
other important staff in the hospitals and nursing homes. These people wield a huge
amount influence over what will be purchased for the end users and how the facility
administrators will view our product, the portable biodegradable potty. The final
decisions to order and start using our portable potty hinges upon their perception of
the product financially and logistically. Our
What Is Mo Tzu Against Music
In Mo Tzu s Against Music, the audience learns that music is ultimately harmful to
society. He first starts out by saying that the responsibility of a benevolent man, or
women, is to find ways to eliminate what is harmful to society. In addition to this, a
benevolent man s duty is not to just take his only interest and add it, but also make
decisions based on the common good. For instance, many rulers and ministers may
like musicvery much; however, it does not provide any benefit for the common man,
thus people must stop making it. Moreover, Mo Tzu concluded that the common man
should not pay taxes for something that only benefits a small proportion of the
population. With this in mind, people might also note that Mo Tzu was expressing this

Characterism In Revelation By Flannery O Connor
Revelation , a short story written by Flannery O Connor focuses on themes of
racism, religion, and judgment brought to a waiting room of a doctor s office.
Ruby Turpin, who takes the role of the protagonist, is an insecure Christian with
prejudice views on society. Mrs. Turpin has an unhealthy habit of placing people
in their proper categories . The waiting room was filled with people from several of
these categories, which Mrs. Turpin seemed to make a game of judging and
placing them based on appearance and stereotypes. Mrs. Turpin engaged with every

Gun Ownership And Gun Control Laws
Gun Control No doubt, America is one of the most powerful countries and the world
s economic power, but there are still many social issues that cause numerous debates
and urgently need to be solved. For example, the increasing unemployment, racism,
inequality and gun control. In recent years, shooting accidents happen frequently in
the United States, which causes great concern about gun ownership and use in the
whole society. Generally, there are two opposite attitudes towards gun control in the
United States. On the one hand, some people firmly urge the government to restrict
gun ownership and gun rights in order to avoid gun violence and perfect gun control
laws. On the other hand, plenty of people still want to protect their rights to own
guns. The United States should put more restriction on gun ownership and use,
because safety problems, the high rate of gun related crime and the loophole of gun
control laws. Many people stress that they feel safer when carrying a gun or hiding it
in the house. One of the reasons why they expect to own it is just to protect
themselves from attacks. If an attack happens, they can protect themselves and their
property when they own a perfect self defense tool. Though their thought is
understandable and common, actually, guns bring more harm rather than more
protection from the whole perspective. In other words, people are in a more
dangerous situation with guns. Trauma found that guns in the home were more likely

Essay On All My Pretty Ones By Anne Sexton
Crumbling under her myriad selves, Anne Sexton s poetry reveals through the
journey of words the labyrinthine setting that resides inside a disturbed mind.
Intimate, almost with a sense, similar to that of trespassing someone s private
journals, her works bared her deepest and often darkest desires for the world to read,
scrutinize and often condemn. Poetry for her was a recluse, a momentary escape
route from her otherwise troubled mental state; keeping her more or less sane to
survive the wild, twisted world she built around her.
The genre of Confessional Poetry fit Sexton like a glove. She enrolled for workshops
from Robert Lowell at the Boston University and made close acquaintances with the
likes of Sylvia Plath and George Starbuck, meanwhile enhancing her only too verbally
extrovert spirit. Over countless martinis at the Ritz Carlton, the two women compared
suicide attempts, discussed their mutual enchantment with death, critiqued each other
s work, and gossiped over drinks and free potato chips.*
While studying confessional poetry, it is of key importance to understand that these

Alluding perhaps in the same vein as Macduff in Shakespeare s tragedy, Macbeth,
the collection chronicles her coming to terms with the vicious circle of life and
inevitability hovering over the living. The twin deaths of Sexton s parents in 1959
(her mother s succeeded by her father s) led her to cling on to writing for dear life.
Her poems thinly conceal her feelings of bitterness towards them and thus vividly
capture the essence of the conflict between holding them responsible for desolating
her and lamenting their loss. Using it as a vehicle to transport herself from these
worldly sufferings, she used poetry as a defense, as a healing ointment to veil the

I wouldn t be doing philosophy if I didn t think it progressed, and that we know
now more than we did a century ago. For that reason, I don t view its history as a
story of the clash of defensible but irreconcilable views, from which the most we can
expect is a sympathetic understanding of how things looked to the participants. (Scott
Soames) For the value of the history of philosophy . . . lies not only in the fact that we
can learn from our predecessors how to address in different ways the questions that
concern us, but also in the fact that we can learn from them how to ask different
questions, or how to ask our questions differently. (Paul Franks)
These quotes provide different pictures about the history of philosophy. The notion
of progress plays a key role in Soames account. Because we know more now than we
did in the past, Soames claims the history of philosophy should involve a careful
analysis of both the achievements and insights that have allowed the field to progress
as well as the missteps which have frustrated this process. Soames would have history
vindicate our current philosophical understanding. Paul Franks, on the other hand,
wants to problematize this straightforward account of how we progressed from the
past to the present. He does this by leaving open the possibility that important
questions may cease to be raised and that certain
The Three Laws of Motion
The Three Laws of Motion The three laws of motion were founded by an English
mathematician names Sir Isaac Newton. He explained the three laws of motions
by using his scientific inquiry. All the laws of motions are physics, which is
physical science. Without these laws of motion, we would not know how to
explain why things move or not. Also e wouldn t know how to be safe. Each law of
motion is very different from the others and is very specific in terms of explanation.
For example, one of the laws of motion has a formula that is: acceleration=net force
divided by mass. This formula can also be written as: force=mass x acceleration.
Physics is an important topic of science. Without physics, we wouldn t understand
how objects will move or when it will stop. Safety relies on physics also. Because of
physics, seatbelts were invented for the safety of using cars. Physics also explains
why the moon orbits around the earth and the earth orbits around the sun. The
English mathematician man named Sir Isaac Newton restated Galileo s ideas about
motion in the first of his three laws of motion. Sir Isaac Newton made the three laws
of motion, which made a huge impact on the world.
Newton s 1st law of motion states that an object will remain at rest or move at a
constant velocity unless an outside unbalanced force acts upon it. An unbalanced
force will cause an object to speed up, slow down, or change direction. For example,
if an object is not moving, it will continue
How Did Irish Immigrants Become Successful
Success as an immigrant means that they have achieved economic stability.
Whether that is by having a stable job that pays well or being able to support your
family and pay your bills every month. Most struggle at first but end up achieving
this success, unlike the Irish immigrants. Irish immigrants failed at achieving
success in America because they lacked the important skills needed to become
successful, companies became anti Irish and many worked low class jobs. The Irish
Immigrants lacked many skills that were needed for different jobs throughout
America. Many had few or no urban or rural skills, except growing potatoes. Many
had only a grade school education and very few had a high school education. This

Some of the most important factors were that they had almost no skills for
working in agriculture or urban society. This was because many only knew how to
grow potatoes and Ireland was not industrialized by that time. Another factor was
the fact that many people and companies became anti Irish. The Irish did not know
how to behave in the workplace and many joined unions so they were not reliable.
Lastly, they worked in low class jobs. They had to take the dangerous jobs no one
else wanted because they were at the bottom of the social class and getting
discriminated against by companies. Today some people are discriminated against
because of how they look, speak or even sexual orientation. There are laws against
it but it still happens. Some will not get chances to even show themselves because
of those factors. Many people today are still racist and homophobic and will not
give them the chances they deserve. For all they could know they could be great
people. This relates to the Irish immigrants because they were sometimes not even
given a chance and had to work very dangerous jobs because of their ethnicity. This
caused them to be unsuccessful in American
What Is Doublethink In 1984
In George Orwell s novel 1984, the party who rules the society uses different
methods to control their citizens and strengthen their own power. By comparing
with the modern American society, we can see similarities. This essay will contrast
the two societies within the subjects of doublethink, surveillance and the governing
of the people. Doublethink is a method and an act that is being used by the party
and the American government to make the citizens simultaneously accept two
contradictory beliefs as correct at the same time. Surveillance is used as the eye
over the population. In 1984 it is Big Brother who sees and hears every step you
take, while in America it is the National Security Agency (NSA). By controlling the

It focuses the hatred and rage of the people away from Big Brother and towards the
enemy as well as providing excuses for the second rate life of the citizens. Oceania
is and has always been at war with Eurasia but during Hate Week, the enemy
changes to Eastasia. The party immediately disregard all of the evidence showing
that Oceania has been at war with Eurasia. Doublethink causes the people to hold
and then accept the false idea that they had always been at war with Eastasia, even
though material proof contradicts this idea. This is very significant because if the
inhabitants were allowed to notice the change in war, they may have began to
question it. The party uses doublethink to focus the people s anger outwards
instead of inwards against their leadership. A modern act of doublethink in
America, which could be compared to Oceania s, is when Barack Obama in 2009
accepted the Nobel Peace Prize as he was simultaneously involved in two wars. One
in Afghanistan and one undeclared in Pakistan. As in 1984 you could say that the
anger was focused on the enemy instead of his and the governments leadership.
America, the world s savior, has a habit of as they please keeping the peace in

anyone who goes against the interests of democracy. (Landler,

Valuation Methodology
The valuation of NABR Publishing Ltd encompassed an extensive amount of
exercise, and the valuation required taking into consideration various factors. The
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method was used to value the NABR Firm. The DCF
Method utilizes the net present value of future free cash flow projections and
discounts the cash flow at a discount rate which was calculated using two of three
options. In turn, this was done using the Weighted Average Cost of Capital(WACC).
The motive for using WACC to get the discount rate is to... Show more content on

Debt and Equity Valuation
This valuation of NABR was based on equity and debt resulting in the financial
value of the firm, and connects with the value of the firm s asset. By using the
DCF method, the total fair market value of the business entity is calculated by
discounting future projected cash flows back to the date of valuation. At the end of
the projection period, a residual or terminal value is calculated and discounted to its
present value at the date of the valuation. The theory behind the discounted cash
flow method is that an entity s value is equal to its present value of its expected
future cash flow. This method is considered the most detailed analysis because it is
thorough in nature and aids the owner to get a true picture of the firm value. This
consists of certain steps which involve developing a method to be used to project
future earnings of cash flow, a risk adjusted discount rate, discounting the projected
cash flow to the date of the valuation, and capitalizing the terminal year s projection
into a residual value using the discount rate less the growth rate. In this case, we
estimated the growth rate of 2.3%, and the summation of the present values of the
discounted cash flows and terminal value.
This method is the most precise method in comparison to the Venture Capitalist
method despite the notion that there is an uncertainty of cash flow projections. Using
WACC to calculate the discount rate assisted in the calculation of the
The Negative Impacts Of Immigrants
In the recent decades, immigration has become a more popular option globally.
Many people choose to leave their home country simply for a better living
environment or for other uncontrollable reasons, such as wars and natural disasters.
There are some countries are more likely to accept immigrants; however some do
not. One of the main reasons to rather accept or reject immigrants would be that it is
a major impact on the country s labor market environment. Inviting immigrations
into a country means that the labor force will increase due to the additional
numbers of labor have been recently added into in. In general, as the supply in labor
increases, the demand in labor decreases at the same time. That means it is then
harder for the citizens of that particular country to find a job since there are more
people competing for positions. However, most of the time it is not this simple.

find jobs that suit their abilities. However, low skill workers or people who do not
acquire a high school diploma are usually low in developed countries such as
Canada and USA. With that being said, job positions that do not require higher
education is demanding because most of the educated people are not willing to
work for positions that does not require critical skills. In many cases, low skill
immigrants are willing to take those positions not just because those jobs suit their
ability, but also because being employed by them is a major step to blend into the

The concept of seamless editing was used because it was one of the first films to use
more than one scene. This was the first narrative film that audiences could see going

so successful because alongside using traditional editing techniques; it included new
techniques such as Parallel Editing, Minor Camera Movement and Crosscutting.
Later editing was also made to add color to the movies through the process of

were given in the movies to arouse specific reaction from the audience (Poland, 2007).

Darcy And Heathcliff Compare And Character Analysis
father dies, however, Heathcliff is thrown out of his home by Catherine s brother

though the roles have flipped. Darcy s father adopted Mr. Wickham as a child, but
the adopted son proved to be a scoundrel, gambling away his inheritance,
manipulating families for money, and led Darcy to banish Wickham from the
house upon his father s death. Both stories are rooted in jealousy and banishment,
whether the main character was evicted or vice versa. The pride, hardness, and
sullenness which Heathcliff displays as a child is significant only because these
traits make his later violence possible... His nature is soil capable of nourishing
violence... but the seed of frustration has to be planted first (Hagan 147). Heathcliff
was truly wronged as a child, which assists in his transformation into a revenge
driven monster. Darcy, however, is the one who initiated the hatred between his
adoptive brother. For both men, it is this parallel situation on opposite ends that
create a tense, revenge driven relationship between their brothers. These adversaries
act as barriers for the love Heathcliff and Darcy seek, and each demand a sacrifice

so desperately desire, must sacrifice parts of themselves that bring them closer to the

in the world, the Truman Doctrine had the purpose to ensure the peaceful between the
nations and contain the communism. The Truman Doctrine also was willing to help
people by giving economic aid, weapons, or military aid to maintain their institutions
and national integrity against movements that wanted impose totalitarian regimes
over those nations threatened by communism. Truman states that, those regimes
represented a threat to the national security of the United States, and to the
international peace. The Truman Doctrine achieved great results, such as, countries
joined to military alliances and contain the communism. In other words, one could say

Ukrainian Self Defense Legion
This article I chosen about crime is an interesting one. It s not an ordinary crime
that you would see on television such as gang war murder, murder in general,
robbery, you get the gist. This man is actually a suspected Nazi Commander of a SS
led Ukrainian Self Defense Legion unit that burned down Polish villages and killed
innocent civilians in Poland in 1944. Michael Karkoc, 98, currently living in
Minneapolis, Minnesota was recently suspected as a commander of a Schutzstaffel
unit, a paramilitary organization that is notorious for executing many many innocent
civilians. Evidence was collected for several years by Polish investigators. Various
evidences showed Karkoc is a suspected commander of the Ukrainian Self Defense
Legion, based on wartime documents, testimony from other members of the unit and
Karkoc s own Ukrainian language memoir . Germanyconducted their own
investigation and concluded that they do have enough evidence to bring him to trial
but decided not to since Karkoc is unfit for trial due to health purposes. In this
unique case, this crime that was acted by suspected Michael Karkoc, a SS

Arguments Against The Judicial System
There is a reason we have different judicial system for juveniles compared to adult
judicial systems. The adolescent mind is still developing into young adulthood which
is critical to adolescent decision making. Experts have proven that the adolescent
mind compared to a mature adult mind set is completely different. Adolescents are
not as mature in their decision making; they are risk takers, impulsive, vulnerable,
and peer orientated. Justice Kennedy goes on to explain that due to evolving
standards of decency since the ruling in Stanford v. Kentucky (1989), the Court has
grounds to rule against the juvenile death penalty. In regards to the Stanford ruling,
juveniles under the age of 15 could not be executed due to views that have been
Social Effects Of Smoking
Smoking, a word everyone is familiar with. From the time tobacco and cigarette were
created to today, the total number of smokers are still boomingгЂ‚On this planet,
millions of smokers inhale smoke right now. Smoking could bring good feelings to
the smokers but it s also could bring bad things to them. For smokers, they heard
smokingis bad for health, it causes heart attack and lung diseases and many other
things, they knew the dangers of smoking but many of them can t quit it or not
willing to quit it. People usually become less addictive to something they already
knew it s dangerous, but for smoking, it s not the case. So, I think smoking might
give smokers something special, and many positive feelings or results. A man also
told me he needs the help of cigaretteto become energetic and there are many social
values of tobacco. For example, in China, sometimes smoking is good for social
connection, it s could help a stranger to get closer to each other when people met for
the first time, they often ask each other do you smokeпјЊif the answer is yes, people
will give them cigarettes to smoke. It shows kindness and helps to develop a
friendship. The fact that people use cigaret to socialize with people interested me, so
I interviewed an ex smoker for a better understanding of smoking. This interview was
conducted over the phone because he and I live in two different countries. In short, it
was a very good opportunity to talk with him and get to know many things from
Analysis Of The Book 1984 By George Orwell
1984 was written by British author George Orwell. The main character is an
average man by the name of Winston Smith. Winston does not agree with the
ideals of the party; this gets him arrested by the thought police. 1984 proclaims
what could happen if people just let the government do all their thinking for them.
1.In the world of 1984, what is considered orthodox is not the same as the actual
world. In the book in order to be considered orthodox one must never question the
party or have any individual thoughts of their own. Winston was not willing to
conform to the society around him, at least not till the end. O Brien tortured
Winston, so he would believe everything that the party told him. In the end of the
book, Winston had become a completely orthodox person. 2. Solipsism is the theory
that only the self exists. Winston is tortured by O Brien; O Brien is trying to get
Winston to stop believing in the outside world. However, he insists that he is not
trying to get Winston to believe in solipsism. 3. The Theory and Practice of
Oligarchical Collectivism is the name of Goldstein s book. Goldstein is the leader of
the underground society against Big Brother; this society is often called the
Brotherhood. Goldstein wrote about the Party s three slogans and their meanings. He
explained the totalitarian government and also mentioned that the government does
not care for the people past them being obedient, mindless robots. 4. Throughout the
book many unique words are used;
Pennies And Dimes Lab Report
Discussion
As presented in Table 1, only pennies were used in this part of the experiment. 8
pennies were added to the cup at each interval, and in response to the addition, the
force consistently increased by 0.20 N. This demonstrated an upward trending linear
relationship, as can be seen in Figure 1. The slope, or m, represents the weight of a
penny, which, is shown in Figure 1 as 0.025 N. The x values represent the
independent variable, which is the # of pennies, while the y values represent the
dependent variable, force (N). Slope can be represented as the change in the force
(N) divided by the change in the # of coins. The value for slope in this data set
represents the force per coin. The y intercept value (b) is 0, which is the y value ...

Initially, 1 dime was added to the cup, followed by the addition of 1 penny, then 1
nickel, and finally 1 quarter. The idea was to add the coins in order from the
lightest coin in weight (dime) to the heaviest (quarter) in order to get an upward
trend line. When 1 dime was added to the cup, the force was 0.03 N, however,
when a penny was added to the cup, the force was increased to a total of 0.05 N.
This represented only a 0.02 N change when the penny was added. This
information is inferring that a dime weighs more than a penny, however, this is
not true. An error that may have occurred could be that the penny was added
before the dime was added. Therefore, the penny would have weighed 0.3 N and
the dime would have weighed 0.2 N. However, the information in Table 3 does
demonstrate that the nickel weighs less than the quarter, but more than the penny
and dime, giving an upward trend line. The slope of the line passing through points
(1,0.03) and (4,0.2) is 0.056 N. Therefore, 0.056 N is the average weight of the
coins. The x values represent the # of coins, the y values represent the force (N),
and the y intercept value is 0. Initially, a linear graph was generated for Figure 3,
however, the trend line did not pass through each point on the graph and the R2
value was .82. Therefore, a polynomial trend line was incorporated into the graph, as
seen in Figure 3. The
African American Women in Upper Management Essay
Within the upper echelons of upper management is scant room for African American
women. This mini proposal outlines a research project that focuses on the phenomena
of the nominal amount of African American women are in positions of management
or organizational leadership within the City of Philadelphia. Proposed Problem The
issue necessitating this empirical study I the low representation of African American
women in Philadelphia in positions of power and leadership. Within the private and
public sector of organizations within city agencies and businesses, there is still little

Indeed, this significant task necessitates the significance of organizational or
management leadership in the financial performance of the minority, women led non

strategic planning is one of the key factors involved in organizational leadership, it is
also essential to consider other factors such as the corporate culture, the dynamics of
the management group, and the manner in which the strengths and expertise of
management is vital in organizational effectiveness (Schein, 2010). Therefore, the
proposed study investigates the importance of organizational leadership as a vital
factor in resolving the organizations dismal performance, e.g., the management for

Essay On Gestational Diabetes
A study done by the Health Care Agency found that the most common prenatal
complication in women that lived in Orange County was gestational diabetes. The
stated target population is women that live in Orange County, specifically in Santa
Ana. The prevalence of gestational diabetes in Orange County was 7.1% affecting
nearly 3,000 women in 2009 (Ramos et al., 2011, 2). This data shows the prevalence
rates according to each city in Orange County Santa Ana as well as Anaheim, Garden
Grove, and Irvine made up almost half of the gestational diabetescases in 2010
(Refowitz, 2012, 8). Looking at Santa Ana specifically, the prevalence of gestational
diabetes was 7.06% with a total of 438 cases in 2010 with a total of 6,202. The stated

Additionally, those with GDM reported less social support from outside the family
(Lydon et al,. 2012). In a comparison study, Hispanic mothers had a higher
prevalence of depressive symptoms (16%) compared with non Hispanic white
mothers (7%). Specifically, Hispanic women reported 25% to 50% depression
prevalence among low income prenatal populations (Chasen Taber et al., 2010). Of
the participants in cohort study of risk factors for GDM among Hispanic Women, a
total of 33.2% were classified as having probable depression (Chasen Taber et al.,
2010). Undoubtedly, the diabetic label comes with significant psychological
complications. Accruing stigma and losing support, women are sometimes blamed
for having GDM, because they eat too much, or do not carry our their domestic
chores. In the end, psychological support from loved ones and the community is a
positive factor for management. If gestational diabetes is not properly addressed in
our community, the women with gestational diabetes will be left to feel isolated,
unsupported, scared, and abandoned (Kalra et al., 2013).
Solutions to the Problem
For those who have gestational diabetes or are newly pregnant, having a strong
support group and a care team is very crucial in preventing and reducing this disease.
Two strategies that have been found to be effective in treating GDM is to follow a
healthy diet and to fully participate in prenatal care. Nutritional therapy is a stepping
stone of having a healthy

Gum Disease Research Paper
Periodontal (gum) disease is a preventable condition, yet it affects almost half of the
American population, according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention,
and it s the most common reason for tooth loss in adults. While these are disturbing
statistics, your teeth and gums can remain healthy for a lifetime when you know the
cause of gum disease and how to prevent it. And believe it or not, a dental discount
plan is another tool that can help you fight this sneaky disease and save you money.
Cause of Periodontal Disease
Bacteria in the mouth continually form a sticky film on the teeth called plaque
especially around the gum line. When allowed to remain on the teeth, bacterial plaque
hardens into tartar, which causes the gums to become inflamed and swollen. But the
good news is this first stage of gum disease (gingivitis) can be reversed, and your
gums can become healthy again. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bacteria trapped in these pockets ultimately cause the breakdown of bone and tissue
supporting the teeth. This stage is called periodontitis, and while it can be treated, it
is not reversible. And if too much bone is lost, one or more teeth may need to be
removed.
Signs and Symptoms
Gum disease is frequently called insidious because it can be painless and damage
your gums and bone without you knowing it. Therefore, if you should notice any of
the following symptoms, see a dentist right away.
Red and swollen
Matryoshka Nesting Dolls

Matryoshka Nesting Dolls
The Matryoshka dolls are painted to look like babushka or a traditional Russian
woman.
These stackable wooden dolls are a very popular Russian souvenir. They are
typically a set of seven wooden dolls of decreasing size, which fit inside of one
another. Each of the dolls splits into half at the centre to reveal another smaller doll
nested within it.
The traditional nesting doll is mostly round in shape and beautifully painted to
resemble a pretty faced peasant woman dressed in a fancy sarafan costume, which is a
traditional Russian garment.
The head of the doll is also usually covered to protect her from the harsh Russian
winters. The word matryoshka , in Russian literally means little matron . It s also
Personal Narrative-Atlantic Way
The days leading up to the fifth of August had been characteristically Irish, complete
with clouds in Connemara, a daylong drizzle in Dingle, and forty mile per hour
winds at the Cliffs of Moher (which, under said conditions, were more deserving of
their Princess Bride alias, the Cliffs of Insanity). In Ireland, the island nation that gifts
its western seaboard with 225 days of rain each year, fickle weather is a fact of life.
But now, for eight hours, my family needed the Wild Atlantic Way to tame itself

Why I Want To Study Gut Microbiology
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The emergence of new pathogens from food and water,
particularly bacteria, as well as the recurrence of known food pathogens, has received
research attention in Nutrition and Food Science. The unusual dietary pattern and
nutrition affect the microbial population in the human gut (Probiotic), with an ample
effect on the immune system and human health. To understand the interactions of gut
microflora with food and nutrients, and their potential involvement in disease
etiology and human health, novel approaches tailored from various disciplines are
required. The additional concern is the growing number of children who are
overweight and at a risk of obesity, early onset of type 2 diabetes and sedentary
behavior. Taken together... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Lang s Post-War Dystopian Novel 1984
In exploring the textual concerns of both Lang s post war German expressionist
film Metropolis (1927) and Orwell s cold war dystopian novel 1984 (1949), it is
apparent that their differing contexts provide starkly contrasting commentaries on the
power of the human spirit to rise above oppression. The impetus for both texts
reflects the immediate contextual concerns of each composer s time, where Lang s
depiction of a futuristic mechanised world reflected Germany s post war climate and
the incessant exploitation. However, Orwell s post atomic novel epitomised the Cold
War and rise of Stalinism and the inherent indoctrination. Separated by an entire
world war, both composers illustrate a dystopian future with entirely different
outcomes as a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freder, the demigod s messianic son, entitled to the unbridled German decadence and
hedonism in the upper echelon of society, is unaware of the social corruption and
oppression in the subterranean. This reflects the overarching effects of the Treaty of
Versailles, resulting in Germany s excess reparations and hyperinflation crippling the
lower class. Upon descending to the depths, his eventual exhaustion on the machine
represents the culmination of the exploitation as a result of the vanity of his own
father. Freder s realisation of the social polarity occurs through his self sacrifice,
prompting his sympathy with the dispossessed and reflecting biblical allusions and
elements of Germany expressionism. The long shot of Freder and vector lines of his
arms symbolise Jesus s crucifixion, and Freder s condemnation Father! Father! Will
ten hours never end? indicates the contemporary form of slavery in the subterranean
world driven by capitalist greed and authoritarianism. It is this exploitation that 1984
similarly presents, yet it theorises the true threat as not social instability, but its
opposite stagnant social regression produced by the coupling of authoritarian politics
with modern technology, in which reform and revolution are literally unthinkable.
Freder s revelation of the lamentable social
The Death Toll Of The Genocide
The crime of committing, destroying, or trying to destroy the existence of a group
of people because of their racial (whose identity is defined by physical), national
(whose identity is defined by a common country of nationality or national origin),
ethnic (whose identity is defined by physical characteristics), or religious group
(whose identity is defined by common religious creeds, beliefs, practices, or
rituals), is known as genocide, and this term did not exist before 1944. Usually the
death toll of the genocide is in thousands and in some cases in millions. According
to the Canadian scholars, Frank Chalk and Kurt Jonassohn, they have identified
four main types of genocide: first, Ideological: this type of genocide is committed
in an effort to achieve an ideal social structure in which all members of society are
alike or hold the same belief. For example the Armenian genocide in 1915, when the
leaders of the Turkish government killed over 1.5 millions of Turkey s Armenians
living in the Ottoman Empire. Also, Cambodian, and Jews/Roma in Germany.
Second type, Retributive: this genocide mostly to occur when one group dominates
another group and fears its rebellion or when the other group actually rebels. For
example the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, when members of the Hutu ethnic majority
in Rwanda murdered as many as 800,000 people, mostly of the Tutsi minority. The
third type is Developmental: usually the government use this type of genocide against
the native people to

Essay About My Mother. My Mother Essay/ English Essay on My Mother for kids - YouTube

  • 1. Essay About My Mother Crafting an essay about a personal and emotionally charged subject such as "My Mother" can be both an intricate and challenging endeavor. The complexity arises not from a lack of material or emotions, but rather from the abundance of feelings, memories, and experiences that one might want to encapsulate within the confines of a few pages. The challenge lies in distilling a lifetime of admiration, gratitude, and love into a coherent narrative that does justice to the profound influence a mother can have. Attempting to convey the essence of a relationship as profound as the one with one's mother demands a delicate balance of sentimentality and objectivity. It's akin to walking a tightrope suspended between nostalgia and the present, between the minutiae of everyday moments and the overarching impact on one's character and life path. The struggle lies in articulating the intangible aspects of this connection, the subtle nuances that make it unique to each individual. Moreover, there is the constant battle against clichГ©s and platitudes. Expressing the depth of a mother's impact without resorting to overused phrases and generic descriptions requires a nuanced approach. Finding the right words to illuminate the specific qualities that make one's mother exceptional can be a formidable task. In addition, one must grapple with the challenge of creating a piece that resonates universally. While the essay is deeply personal, it should also possess a universality that allows readers to connect with the emotions and experiences shared. Striking this balance is a delicate art that requires careful consideration of language, tone, and perspective. As the writer endeavors to encapsulate the essence of their relationship with their mother, they may find themselves navigating the waters of vulnerability. Sharing personal anecdotes and emotions can be an intimate process, and the fear of exposing too much or too little may add an extra layer of complexity to the writing journey. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "My Mother" is a formidable task that demands the writer to navigate through a myriad of emotions, memories, and linguistic challenges. It requires a delicate balance between the personal and the universal, all while avoiding clichГ©s and maintaining a sense of vulnerability. Ultimately, it is an endeavor that calls for introspection, creativity, and a keen understanding of the unique nuances that shape the mother-child relationship. For those seeking assistance in crafting such essays or exploring a broader range of writing services, platforms like HelpWriting.net offer a wealth of options to explore and tap into professional expertise. Whether it's refining personal narratives or tackling a diverse array of topics, such platforms provide valuable resources for individuals looking to enhance their writing endeavors. • 2. Battle Of Agincourt Analysis The Battle of Agincourt in 1415 is one of the most famous battles in history. Made popular by Shakespeare s play Henry V, many people have forgotten or are unaware of the true details of the actual battle. Myriad details have never been satisfyingly resolved. One of the controversies involves the fact that Henry V ordered the deaths of the French prisoners that he had gained during the battle. According to most historians, Henry commanded his soldiers to kill the prisoners after the battle was already won, though he may or may not have realized it at the time. In regard to this fact, researchers have called Henry everything from a clever strategian to a cruel tyrant. There are a few eyewitness accounts, called chronicles, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shakespeare introduces the notion that Henry commissioned his invasion of France upon the instability of his position on the throne as his main focus, as well as his claim to the French throne. Therefore, his determination was authentic, possibly making him resolve to win at all costs as he faced the French army that reputably was much larger than his own. According to Shakespeare s tale, the killing of the prisoners during the battle of Agincourt seems to have been induced by a sudden panic on the part of Henry V when he heard a sudden commotion and realized that his army was being attacked from behind, just as his victory seemed assured. While this latter concept corresponds fairly well with the original accounts, Shakespeare s rendition of the event must be handled with caution as historical fiction, not historical fact. Additionally, in the play, immediately before this happens, he hears a vivid account of how one of his relatives died in the battle, and his grief may have played a part in the suddenness of the order (Shakespeare, 1599, Henry V, Act IV, Scene VI) Five accounts currently exist that have survived from the time of the battle in which the
  • 3. Essay On Formative Assessment Enhancing Student Learning through Formative Assessment Rationale Recently, whenever I hear current teachers discussing about assessing students, Formative Assessment is sure to be highlighted. Nowadays this method (formative assessment) is becoming popular among schools and is being applied widely in schools including my own school. Loughland and Kilpatrick (2015) identified in the few past decades, formative assessment has turned out to be the main goal for teachers and educational systems. On the foundation of Loughland and Kilpatrick (2015) findings and from my experience in the field of teaching, I found out nowadays teachers and school stakeholders strongly feel that formative assessment is the best method to assess in order to enhance students learning. For these evident reasons, I am interested in finding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whether formative assessment is the best method to be used to assess students, can a particular method of assessing students have an impact in students learning, is teacher s role in assessing students important for students learning and does students voice and formative assessment have any relation in enhancing students learning, are some questions that I want to get crystal clear answers for and look into with keen interest to find out whether students learning is enhanced through formative assessment. Hence in this essay I will be digging into, a descriptive, a critical and a reflective deep look through my own experiences, researches and theories in the related field on the questions or issues mentioned above to find out whether formative assessment in real enhances students learning. The main focus of this essay is the urge of finding out whether formative assessment in real enhance students learning. With the high hope of applying and practicing every little bit of information that I compile from the readings into the current practices in any correlated
  • 4. Estella Lopez s Case Study The trouble with her breathing began a few months after Estella Lopez moved to Barrio Logan. Lopez is certain she knows why: At five or six in the morning, you start hearing heavy noise. Like machinery working together. Like heavy metal banging. Lopez lives on Main Street in an affordable housing complex. She is 37 but looks older. She speaks very little English and answers questions with the help of an interpreter. One of the things is, I can never open the windows in the apartment, because my children are constantly sick. The little one, if we don t take care of her, she is going to develop asthma. Lopez s six year old daughter shows signs of being in the disease s early stages. The doctor gave us a breathing machine for her. That s why the windows are shut, so she can breathe clean air. Lopez and her 13 year old daughter take pills as a part of barrio living. She roots through her handbag and produces a small bottle filled with tablets. Loratadine, it says on the label, a drug which is commonly used to treat allergies. The 13 year old is allergic to the dust in the air, she says. And I am allergic to things like smoke in the air. The smoke that comes from the trucks and the contamination they are creating. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She says they used to pay closer to $1000 for a one bedroom apartment up on Ocean View Boulevard in Southeast. Does she consider the nearly 50 percent cut in rent a decent trade for the reduced quality of life she describes? No. It s definitely not a good trade off. We are not a high income family. Together, she and her live in boyfriend bring home less than $20 per hour before taxes. Our financial situation, she says, made us do what we had to
  • 5. The School System And Education Essay Education has taken a different course throughout the years. The way the educational system was set to be performed differs than how it is practiced today. The system has become more advanced in the ways of which are important when it comes to educating a student. In one of the ways which the system has improved and became more advanced was by first hiring higher educated teachers who meet the exact requirements, and then the environment for learning becoming safer and more appropriate for students who want to learn. Although, the school system drastically changed and educationbecame more common and important to a vast majority of society, it does not necessarily mean the public school system perfected their ways of providing education. The system is still filled with flaws that seems to be affecting students, teachers, and the school as a whole. These flaws that are well alive in the public school system are directed to the ones who cause these flaws the school district. The issues happening in the public school system deeply alters the way the students are being taught, even disturbs the way the teacher is teaching and lecturing. Without having the proper support needed, the students wouldn t be able to fulfil their full potential in learning. Although, comparing the school system from its initial era, it is believed that the school system today has drastically changed for the better, and could still use some improvements. The issues occurring in the current school
  • 6. New Physics Essay What is the (next accessible) scale of new physics? We do not have a clear answer. We are living through a challenging and exciting era, in sharp contrast to the situation in the past (half) century in physics. The discovery of the Higgs boson, the determination of the non zero $theta_ {13} $ neutrino mixing parameter, the first detection of gravitation waves, and many significantly improved experimental probes for new physics beyond the standard model mark the great triumphs of our understandings of nature. Profound puzzles of nature, such as hierarchy problem, dark matter, neutrino properties, matter antimatter asymmetry, strong CP, flavor structure, etc., are actively being explored but yet remain to be solved. However, no clear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My research on supersymmetry~(SUSY) includes DM physics in conjunction with Higgs boson, SUSY particle searches in scenarios such as compressed spectra, stealthy SUSY and displaced SUSY with long lived particles, as well as using the Higgs bosons as portals to SUSY particles. Moreover, I am experienced and interested in QCD and Jet observables at colliders in both traditional kinematics construction and Machine Learning methods. Furthermore, my research in studies of general resonances also stands out, such as colored resonances, $tbar t$ resonances, $Z^prime$ and $W^prime$ through assorted asymmetries and electroweak radiation observables. Currently, I have pioneered in using unconventional on shell interference effects to between signals and background amplitudes to probe new physics. I have identified several critical processes at the LHC and found these interesting on shell interference effects not only an essential component of the precision programs but also unique probes for BSM physics. What s more, I am working on using angular distributions in boosted $tbar t$ system at the LHC and proposing new searches for exotic long lived particle signatures in stop coannihilation DM scenario in the MSSM and a next to minimal dark matter model. Given the long term planning necessary for next generation experiments and the exciting
  • 7. Evaluation Essay Evaluation Essay If you are looking for a class to meet both a general education and a diversity requirement class I d recommend taking Sociology 268. The class, Race and Ethnicity, is an introduction course taught by Professor Kristina Cantin. I am going to evaluate this professor based off of five criteria: subject knowledge and passion; setting high standards and clear classroom objectives; ability to create a sense of community within the class; professor accessibility; and mutual respect. The course focused on the eight common conversations about Race: We re beyond race; Racial diversity is killing us; Everyone s a little bit racist; It s just identity politics; Variety is the spice of life; It s a Black thing you... Professor Cantin s ability to create community within the classroom also extended to outside of the class hours. Many times professors are hard to reach via
  • 8. Mary Read Research Paper Mary Read was an english female pirate. She and Anne Bonny are two of the most famed female pirates of all time. Mary Read was born in England in the late 17th century. Her birth was around 1691. Mary s father died before she was born, and her older brother died soon after that. Mary s mother began to disguise Mary as a boy after the death of her older brother. This was done to continue to receive financial support from his paternal grandmother. The grandmother was apparently fooled, and Read and her mother lived on the inheritance into her teenage years. Still dressed as a boy Read then found work as a foot boy, and later found employment on a ship. Read, in a male disguise, proved herself through battle, but fell in love with a soldier.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her and the soldier got married. Her husband died at an early age, and she started the act back up. She also resumed military service in Holland. There was no room in advancement, so she quit and boarded a ship bound for the West Indies. Read s ship was taken by pirates and they forced her to join the team. She took the king s pardon and a commision to privateer, until that ended with her joining the crew in mutiny. In 1720 she joined John Rackham and his companion, the female pirate Anne Bonny, who both believed that she was a man. Read s gender was revealed when Bonny told Read that she was a woman, apparently because Bonny was attracted to her because she thought Read was a man. Releasing this, Read revealed that she was to a woman. However, Bonny s lover, Racham, did not know this and suspected romantic involvement between the two of them. To abate his jealousy, Bonny told him that she was also a women. There was only one other crew member who knew Read s true gender, the father of her child, an unnamed passenger from a captured
  • 9. The Vampire, By Anne Rice For the majority of time since literary vampires were created, they were represented as monstrous creatures without souls whose sole purpose in literature was to kill and cause terror until they were ultimately destroyed. These literary vampires were slowly given more human characteristics, but it was Anne Rice who radically humanized the vampire, by creating the cultured vampire who, in some ways, represents an improved, superior human. In the Interview with the Vampire (1976), Anne Rice juxtaposed Louis de Pointe du Lac, a humanized, emotional, vampire, to other vampires in order to emphasize his cultured nature in a modern world lacking morality. Although Louis was a vampire for most of the novel, he represented humanity in an absolute yet rudimentary manner: through his struggle to find meaning in a world lost to modernity, which he, with his religious beliefs, believed had forsaken him. While Louis de Pointe du Lac, the protagonist of the Interview with the Vampire, seemed to be going constantly through a series of losses in the novel, he also made the best of the obstacles presented to him representing humanity by attempting to find happiness through his struggles. The first loss that Louis experienced his brother seemed to set the theme for the rest of his life. Paul, his brother, killed himself after Louis refused to believe that Paul s religious visions were real and; therefore, refused to sell the indigo plantations. Louis blamed himself for the death of

  • 11. Robert Alter Chapter Summary Research in the field of biblical literary criticism have rapidly increased in recent decades. The publication of Robert Alter s 1981 The Art of Biblical Narrative stamps the symbolic arrival of a style of analysis that has now become entrenched in modern biblical research. Robert Alter argues that the Bibleis a largely cohesive literary text to be read with a literary purpose. In this essay it is asked if assumptions about texts predicated on the study of modern literature can be profitably applied to a multiple authored, multi layered collection of ancient provenance such as the Hebrew Bible and offers a brief critique of Alter s discussion of the artistic merits and unity of Genesis chapters 37 39. For a thousand years the Western world has looked toward the Bible as a work of sacred history and the foundational account of the development of the Jewish people. While Alter does not completely reject the historicity of the Bible, he sees it as secondary; rather, in Alter s view, the authors of the Bible developed a form of prose fiction in order to tell the revolutionary tale of monotheistic revelation contained within its pages. Chapter by chapter Alter makes clear the various literary methods and techniques employed by the Biblical authors, including narration, repetition, parallelism, analogy and direct dialogue. By learning to uncover the inherently literary nature of the Bible, Alter hopes to reach a greater understanding of Biblical narrative, and, in

Throughout this course, there were various course learning outcomes such as developing strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising and editing, locating research sources in the library s databases or archives and on the Internet and evaluate them for credibility, accuracy, timeliness, and bias, and composing texts that integrate your stance with appropriate sources using strategies such as summary, critical analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and argumentation. Throughout the written assignments in this course, I believe I was able to improve my writing process as a whole; however, I believe that I could have done a better job utilizing the library sources present at CCNY, which would have ultimately strengthened my paper, especially the research paper I wrote. I believe that throughout all my essays, I have developed strategies for drafting, collaborating, revising and editing. In my first essay, which focused on the literary analysis of The Aquarium by Aleksander Hemon, I created an outline that contained quotations that supported my central question: why does Hemon actually decide to name the title of his piece
  • 13. White Male Privilege Analysis 1. To be quite honest, I am shocked by the article s hyperbolization of the concept of white male privilege . Make no mistake about it, in general, certain groups absolutely do have it easier than others. However, we ve all been dealt a hand, so to speak, and as a result everyone has a discrete set of privileges AND disadvantages. 2. The statistic with respect to the top 1 percent having the same amount of wealth as the bottom 95 percent caught my attention, and it directly relates to my previous answer. The reality is that the one privilege that trumps all others is wealth. So as long the public spotlight is on trivial issues, and not on problems that truly matter such as the abhorrent wealth distribution in this country, we will all be

However, if you live with a family, you are confronted with additional complications. Fortunately, in the beginning, it is enough five ten minutes to be alone, to sit on your cushion. Later, as a more advanced meditator, probably you will want more time, by then hopefully, your family might be accustomed already to your meditation habit, and likely they won t hinder you. • 16. The Importance of Documenting Patient Status and Care Documentation of patient status and care is important for a variety of reasons. First, it allows health care professionals to plan and evaluate treatment. Health care records are also used as a communication tool by multidisciplinary teams. Documentation is also used as evidence in legal matters, and for reimbursements. Health care agenizes also use electronic health recorddata to study and improve future care. Because there are so many things that health records are used for there are important things you should be sure to include. When documenting the most crucial parts is documenting interventions and the patients reactions to chosen interventions. If there are any significant events or changes in the patient or the plan it must be documented. Always be sure to documentif and when informed consent for procedures and actions is needed. If the patient refuses treatment or leaves against medical advice be sure to document. Medications are always documented along with any occurrences such as medication errors or falls. Most importantly always include the date and time on all of the notes. With all this information that should be included in documentation it is helpful to sort it into subjective and objective data. Objective data is going to be something that is gathered through physical assessment or from lab and diagnostic tests. Most objective data can be measured such as vital signs. Subjective data is information given to the nurse by the patient or a family

Poetry for her was a recluse, a momentary escape route from her otherwise troubled mental state; keeping her more or less sane to survive the wild, twisted world she built around her. The genre of Confessional Poetry fit Sexton like a glove. She enrolled for workshops from Robert Lowell at the Boston University and made close acquaintances with the likes of Sylvia Plath and George Starbuck, meanwhile enhancing her only too verbally extrovert spirit. Statement Of Purpose For Graduate Study Conrad Damstra Statement of Purpose for Graduate Study Philosophy Doctoral Program at Stanford University I wouldn t be doing philosophy if I didn t think it progressed, and that we know now more than we did a century ago. For that reason, I don t view its history as a story of the clash of defensible but irreconcilable views, from which the most we can expect is a sympathetic understanding of how things looked to the participants. (Scott Soames) For the value of the history of philosophy . . . lies not only in the fact that we can learn from our predecessors how to address in different ways the questions that concern us, but also in the fact that we can learn from them how to ask different questions, or how to ask our questions differently. (Paul Franks) These quotes provide different pictures about the history of philosophy. The notion of progress plays a key role in Soames account. Because we know more now than we did in the past, Soames claims the history of philosophy should involve a careful analysis of both the achievements and insights that have allowed the field to progress as well as the missteps which have frustrated this process. Soames would have history vindicate our current philosophical understanding. Paul Franks, on the other hand, wants to problematize this straightforward account of how we progressed from the past to the present. He does this by leaving open the possibility that important questions may cease to be raised and that certain

He explained the three laws of motions by using his scientific inquiry. All the laws of motions are physics, which is physical science. Without these laws of motion, we would not know how to explain why things move or not. Also e wouldn t know how to be safe. Each law of motion is very different from the others and is very specific in terms of explanation. For example, one of the laws of motion has a formula that is: acceleration=net force divided by mass. This formula can also be written as: force=mass x acceleration. Physics is an important topic of science. Without physics, we wouldn t understand how objects will move or when it will stop. Safety relies on physics also. Because of physics, seatbelts were invented for the safety of using cars. Physics also explains why the moon orbits around the earth and the earth orbits around the sun. The English mathematician man named Sir Isaac Newton restated Galileo s ideas about motion in the first of his three laws of motion. Sir Isaac Newton made the three laws of motion, which made a huge impact on the world. Newton s 1st law of motion states that an object will remain at rest or move at a constant velocity unless an outside unbalanced force acts upon it. An unbalanced force will cause an object to speed up, slow down, or change direction. For example, if an object is not moving, it will continue

The party immediately disregard all of the evidence showing that Oceania has been at war with Eurasia. Doublethink causes the people to hold and then accept the false idea that they had always been at war with Eastasia, even though material proof contradicts this idea. This is very significant because if the inhabitants were allowed to notice the change in war, they may have began to question it. The party uses doublethink to focus the people s anger outwards instead of inwards against their leadership. A modern act of doublethink in America, which could be compared to Oceania s, is when Barack Obama in 2009 accepted the Nobel Peace Prize as he was simultaneously involved in two wars. One in Afghanistan and one undeclared in Pakistan. As in 1984 you could say that the anger was focused on the enemy instead of his and the governments leadership. Valuation Case Submitted by: XXX MBA 680 Corporate Financial Theory October 22, 2014 Valuation Methodology The valuation of NABR Publishing Ltd encompassed an extensive amount of exercise, and the valuation required taking into consideration various factors. The Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method was used to value the NABR Firm. The DCF Method utilizes the net present value of future free cash flow projections and discounts the cash flow at a discount rate which was calculated using two of three options. In turn, this was done using the Weighted Average Cost of Capital(WACC). The motive for using WACC to get the discount rate is to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Debt and Equity Valuation This valuation of NABR was based on equity and debt resulting in the financial value of the firm, and connects with the value of the firm s asset. By using the DCF method, the total fair market value of the business entity is calculated by discounting future projected cash flows back to the date of valuation. At the end of the projection period, a residual or terminal value is calculated and discounted to its present value at the date of the valuation. The theory behind the discounted cash flow method is that an entity s value is equal to its present value of its expected future cash flow. This method is considered the most detailed analysis because it is thorough in nature and aids the owner to get a true picture of the firm value. This consists of certain steps which involve developing a method to be used to project future earnings of cash flow, a risk adjusted discount rate, discounting the projected cash flow to the date of the valuation, and capitalizing the terminal year s projection into a residual value using the discount rate less the growth rate. In this case, we estimated the growth rate of 2.3%, and the summation of the present values of the discounted cash flows and terminal value. This method is the most precise method in comparison to the Venture Capitalist method despite the notion that there is an uncertainty of cash flow projections. Using WACC to calculate the discount rate assisted in the calculation of the

Many people choose to leave their home country simply for a better living environment or for other uncontrollable reasons, such as wars and natural disasters. There are some countries are more likely to accept immigrants; however some do not. One of the main reasons to rather accept or reject immigrants would be that it is a major impact on the country s labor market environment. Initially, 1 dime was added to the cup, followed by the addition of 1 penny, then 1 nickel, and finally 1 quarter. The idea was to add the coins in order from the lightest coin in weight (dime) to the heaviest (quarter) in order to get an upward trend line. When 1 dime was added to the cup, the force was 0.03 N, however, when a penny was added to the cup, the force was increased to a total of 0.05 N. This represented only a 0.02 N change when the penny was added. This information is inferring that a dime weighs more than a penny, however, this is not true. An error that may have occurred could be that the penny was added before the dime was added. Therefore, the penny would have weighed 0.3 N and the dime would have weighed 0.2 N. However, the information in Table 3 does demonstrate that the nickel weighs less than the quarter, but more than the penny and dime, giving an upward trend line. The slope of the line passing through points (1,0.03) and (4,0.2) is 0.056 N. Therefore, 0.056 N is the average weight of the coins. The x values represent the # of coins, the y values represent the force (N), and the y intercept value is 0. Comparing Lang s Post-War Dystopian Novel 1984 In exploring the textual concerns of both Lang s post war German expressionist film Metropolis (1927) and Orwell s cold war dystopian novel 1984 (1949), it is apparent that their differing contexts provide starkly contrasting commentaries on the power of the human spirit to rise above oppression. The impetus for both texts reflects the immediate contextual concerns of each composer s time, where Lang s depiction of a futuristic mechanised world reflected Germany s post war climate and the incessant exploitation. However, Orwell s post atomic novel epitomised the Cold War and rise of Stalinism and the inherent indoctrination. Separated by an entire world war, both composers illustrate a dystopian future with entirely different outcomes as a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Freder, the demigod s messianic son, entitled to the unbridled German decadence and hedonism in the upper echelon of society, is unaware of the social corruption and oppression in the subterranean. This reflects the overarching effects of the Treaty of Versailles, resulting in Germany s excess reparations and hyperinflation crippling the lower class. Upon descending to the depths, his eventual exhaustion on the machine represents the culmination of the exploitation as a result of the vanity of his own father. Freder s realisation of the social polarity occurs through his self sacrifice, prompting his sympathy with the dispossessed and reflecting biblical allusions and elements of Germany expressionism. The long shot of Freder and vector lines of his arms symbolise Jesus s crucifixion, and Freder s condemnation Father! Father! Will ten hours never end? indicates the contemporary form of slavery in the subterranean world driven by capitalist greed and authoritarianism. It is this exploitation that 1984 similarly presents, yet it theorises the true threat as not social instability, but its opposite stagnant social regression produced by the coupling of authoritarian politics with modern technology, in which reform and revolution are literally unthinkable. Freder s revelation of the lamentable social

The Death Toll Of The Genocide The crime of committing, destroying, or trying to destroy the existence of a group of people because of their racial (whose identity is defined by physical), national (whose identity is defined by a common country of nationality or national origin), ethnic (whose identity is defined by physical characteristics), or religious group (whose identity is defined by common religious creeds, beliefs, practices, or rituals), is known as genocide, and this term did not exist before 1944. Usually the death toll of the genocide is in thousands and in some cases in millions. According to the Canadian scholars, Frank Chalk and Kurt Jonassohn, they have identified four main types of genocide: first, Ideological: this type of genocide is committed in an effort to achieve an ideal social structure in which all members of society are alike or hold the same belief. For example the Armenian genocide in 1915, when the leaders of the Turkish government killed over 1.5 millions of Turkey s Armenians living in the Ottoman Empire. Also, Cambodian, and Jews/Roma in Germany. Second type, Retributive: this genocide mostly to occur when one group dominates another group and fears its rebellion or when the other group actually rebels. For example the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, when members of the Hutu ethnic majority in Rwanda murdered as many as 800,000 people, mostly of the Tutsi minority. The third type is Developmental: usually the government use this type of genocide against the native people to
