(EOR/MEOR/BERO)After the use of BERO™ biosurfactant, those three wells obtained good stimulation effect and as of the end of February 2010, proven oil production increased by 15,811.2 bbls (5,270.4 bbls per well) and these three wells still have development value.
Therefore, it is believed that BERO™ biosurfactant technology will greatly improve the recovery rate and utilization rate of oil well, increase crude oil production and bring remarkable economic benefit.

As for conventional technologies such as acidification, polymer flooding and fracturing, due to their own limitations, they cannot achieve ideal effect or only have short-term effect and may cause secondary pollution of reservoir.
After BERO™ biosurfactant is injected into a water injection well, it has the functions of cleaning, oil displacement, stimulation, facilitating drainage, penetration and biological degradation such as preventing organic deposition, so change happens to the reservoir within the retention zone and the passage of injected water flow also changes when BERO™ biosurfactant evenly diffuses in the reservoir, passages with small resistance causing “short-circuit” are influenced, water flow is forced to search for more new passages and the sweep area of water flooding is enlarged, thereby improving water flooding effect and realizing plugging removal and injection reduction.

(EOR/MEOR/BERO/oil recovery) As for Well Zhang 279 Cong 1, the analysis result shows that the main reason for production reduction is the plugging of the near-wellbore zone caused by organic matters such as wax and asphalt contained in crude oil. In September 2012, BERO™ biosurfactant was mixed with formation water and injected in Well Zhang 279 Cong 1 to remove plugging and stimulate production and the temperature of the injection fluid was above 122℉. During construction, pressure rose from 0 psi to 1450 psi.
After shut-in for 5 days, Well Zhang 279 Cong 1 resumed production and then its production greatly increased. Its daily oil production increased from 11.7 BOPD to 17.4 BOPD.

BERO™ biosurfactant is a polymeric biological enzyme and as a water-soluble product, it can efficiently release hydrocarbon on the surfaces of solid particles in reservoir. After being injected into the formation, due to activity, it can adhere to rock surface for a long time to change the property of rock formation into hydrophilic biological surface, reduce wetting angle and the interfacial tension of rock particles in reservoir, thereby reducing the flowing resistance of crude oil in reservoir pores; meanwhile, due to biological degradation effect, BERO™ biosurfactant will continuously deform and split oil drops until oil drops are released from rock formation, thus not only being able to loosen the crude oil of retention layer, but also making oil drops become smaller and more easily exude through the pores of rock formation until they are recovered. Since enzyme will form a kind of mild emulsion composed of oil, water, enzyme, enzyme-based ferment, etc. The emulsion can resist against, contact and change the retention layer, thereby achieving the effect of cleaning, injection reducing and oil displacement and improving oil recovery rate. Meanwhile, it will not produce other new product, so it will not plug pores or cause secondary pollution.

How does QuickFlo work?
When mixed with adequate amounts of good crude oil and agitated, QuickFlo breaks down paraffin causing it to return to the crude oil solution where it remains in solution until refining takes place. Furthermore, one of the major added benefits for QuickFlo applications is a reduction in viscosity apparent in the oil that has been treated. This will improve all aspects of production from the treatment point all the way through the flow lines to the refinery!
Not only does our product work efficiently, it can be proven to be one of the most cost-effective paraffin treatments available to the industry.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Other Performance Test
Scale dissolving capability
An extra heavy oil sample is toasted under 50oC for 24 hours into an oil scale
and the oil scale is immersed in BERO™ biosurfactant with a concentration of
1% under a constant temperature (70oC) for 24 hours and then undergoes
filtering. Through calculation, the scale dissolving capability of BERO™
biosurfactant is between 78% and 90%. As for conventional heavy oil and
conventional oil, the scale dissolving capability of BERO™ biosurfactant is
higher; in this case, the 24h scale dissolving capability of BERO™
biosurfactant with a concentration of 0.5%-1% exceeds 90%.
Demulsification capability (chemical concentration: 100mg/l)
Sand consolidation capability
When clean water passes through artificial core composed of phenolic resin
cemented fracturing sand, penetrability is lowered by 19.8%; when BERO™
biosurfactant with a concentration of 1% passes through such core,
penetrability is lowered by 1.87%.
Experiment result of cemented fracturing sand containing heavy oil is shown
below:
When clean water passes through the sand, penetrability is lowered by 14.2%;
when BERO™ biosurfactant with a concentration of 1% passes through such
sand, penetrability is not lowered but increases by 41.6%; therefore, it can be
seen that BERO™ biosurfactant has remarkable combined capability of
releasing and displacing oil and inhibiting fine particle migration and clay
swelling.

During general treatment, the solubility of the BERO™ biosurfactant at 30g/l,
can meet the requirements of treatment,Figure 5 shows that, when the salinity

4. The 2% BERO™ biosurfactant has a good wax inhibition ability since its
wax inhibition rate reaches 27%.
