BERO™ biosurfactant is a polymeric biological enzyme and as a water-soluble product, it can efficiently release hydrocarbon on the surfaces of solid particles in reservoir. After being injected into the formation, due to activity, it can adhere to rock surface for a long time to change the property of rock formation into hydrophilic biological surface, reduce wetting angle and the interfacial tension of rock particles in reservoir, thereby reducing the flowing resistance of crude oil in reservoir pores; meanwhile, due to biological degradation effect, BERO™ biosurfactant will continuously deform and split oil drops until oil drops are released from rock formation, thus not only being able to loosen the crude oil of retention layer, but also making oil drops become smaller and more easily exude through the pores of rock formation until they are recovered. Since enzyme will form a kind of mild emulsion composed of oil, water, enzyme, enzyme-based ferment, etc. The emulsion can resist against, contact and change the retention layer, thereby achieving the effect of cleaning, injection reducing and oil displacement and improving oil recovery rate. Meanwhile, it will not produce other new product, so it will not plug pores or cause secondary pollution.

Application of BERO™ Biosurfactant in Texas and Its Effect
In March 2010, we applied BERO™ treatment for an oil well located at Blue
button area, Texas State.The Company possesses concession covering an
area of 420,000 acres and involving 352 oil wells in Maverick County, Dimmit
County and Webb County.
The 8 oil wells which were applied BERO™ treatment to remove plugging are
located at Blue button area. The analysis result shows that the main reason for
decrease of production is the plugging of the near-wellbore area by organic
matters such as wax and asphalt contained in crude oil. Full plugging removal
is conducted according to the production need and the requirements of
geological solution of these 8 oil wells. The injection of BERO™ biosurfactant
as the plugging removal agent can lower water cut, stabilize oil and control
water cut and stimulate the production of crude oil.
Within 3 months after injection, the daily crude oil production of 4 oil wells
increased by 3 times and that of 4 oil wells increased by 2.4 times on average.

After shut-in for 5 days, Well Marsters 5 resumed production and then its
production greatly increased. Its daily oil production increased from 11 BOPD
to 37 BOPD and waterproduction decreased from 22 BWPD to 15 BWPD.
