A. Pre-Activity
a.) Prayer
Before we start the day, may I request __________, to lead us a
prayer?
b.) Greetings
Good morning class! Before you sit down, kindly arrange your chairs and
pick up pieces of papers on the floor if there’s any. Make sure your area is
clean and clear. You may be seated right after, did you get that?
Very good!
c.) Checking of Attendance
When I call out your name, please say “Present” if you are around. If not,
kindly tell me that your classmate is “absent”. If he or she is excused,
please show me his or her excuse letter or a justifiable reason.
d.) Giving of House Rules
1. Review e.) Review of the Previous Lesson on Gerund
2. Motivation Charade: “My Free Time!”
The class will be divided into 2 groups and each group will choose a
leader or actor and the rest of the members will guess the right exercise /
sports or recreational activity term. This will be done in 5 mins.
Words / terms to be guessed:
Skating Walking
Exercising Boxing
Bicycling Swimming
Jogging Planking
Dancing Shopping
3. Presentation The teacher will pull out the hidden predicate from the guessed words on
the meta strips.
The teacher will present the topic through some leading questions.
Skating in the winter makes me feel so happy.
Walking on the sea shore amazed them to see the beautiful sunset.
Exercising religiously will make us healthy.
Boxing in the gym is one of his hobbies.
1. Based from the sentences written on meta strips which are posted on
the board, what can you say about Gerundial Phrase?
2. Describe how they are written.
3. Are you familiar with Verbals?
The teacher will also let the students know the objectives of the lesson.
A. Activity
Group A and B will read the dialogue properly.
Group A will be Ana and Group B will be Des.
Read it loud and clear.
Ana: Exercising daily is good for our health.
Des: I know. Part of my routine in the morning is jogging in the Lagoon.
Ana: Merla keeps herself in good shape by dancing in the studio.
Des: Lester does boxing in the gym twice a week.
Ana: Well, my only exercise, walking in going to school, is not taxing.
B. Analysis
1.What do you notice about the underlined phrases?
2. How do you know its Gerundial phrase?
3. What is Gerundial phrase?
4. Write a sample of sentence using Gerundial phrase correctly.
C. Abstraction
The teacher will ask the students:
1. What did you do a while ago?
2. How can we identify Gerundial phrase in the sentence?
3. Is Gerundial phrase important in an oral discourse? Why?
D. Application
Group Activity: Reuse Me!
The class will be divided into three groups.
From the given sentences that contain Gerundial phrase in the trash bin,
the students will collect all the sentences to compose a 2-paragraph short
story and perform an On-the-Spot Pantomime. A group must choose a
narrator to read their story. They must do the activity in 15 mins.
Their output will be graded according to these criteria.

Presentation The teacher will pull out the hidden predicate from the guessed words on the meta strips. The teacher will present the topic through some leading questions. Skating in the winter makes me feel so happy. Walking on the sea shore amazed them to see the beautiful sunset. Exercising religiously will make us healthy.
